Abstract
Titanium (Ti) and its corresponding alloys have been widely applied in dental and orthopedic implants. Owing to abrasion and corrosion of implants in the unfavorable electrolytic aqueous environment of the host body, Ti ions could be released from implants and accumulated in local tissues. Recent studies have found that excessive Ti ions were toxic to osteoblasts in adjacent bone tissues and subsequently influenced long-term effects on implant prostheses. However, the potential molecular mechanisms underlying the damage to osteoblasts induced by Ti ions remained unclear. Hippo signaling has been confirmed to be involved in organ size and tissue regeneration in many organs, while its roles in osteoblasts differentiation and bone repair remained elusive. Therefore, we hypothesize that YAP, a regulator of Hippo pathway, inhibited osteoblast growth, skeletal development and bone repair, as well as excessive Ti ions promoted the progression of YAP activation. This study aimed to explore the role of Hippo/YAP signaling pathway in the biotoxicity effect of Ti ions on osteoblast behaviors. Here, we confirmed that 10 ppm Ti ions, a minimum concentration gradient previously reported that was capable of suppressing osteoblasts growth, induced nuclear expression of YAP in osteoblasts in our study. Furthermore, 10 ppm Ti ion-induced YAP activation was found to downregulate osteogenic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells. Most importantly, the hypothesis we proposed that knockdown of YAP did reverse the inhibitory effect of 10 ppm Ti ions on osteogenesis has been verified. Taken together, our work provides insights into the mechanism of which YAP is involved in regulating osteoblast behaviors under the effect of Ti ions, which may help to develop therapeutic applications for Ti implant failures and peri-implantitis.

Abstract
Chinese black-bone chickens are valued for the medicinal properties of their meat in traditional Chinese medicine. We investigated the genetic diversity and systematic evolution of Chinese black-bone chicken breeds. We sequenced the DNA of 520 bp of the mitochondrial cyt b gene of nine Chinese black-bone chicken breeds, including Silky chicken, Jinhu black-bone chicken, Jiangshan black-bone chicken, Yugan black-bone chicken, Wumeng black-bone chicken, Muchuan black-bone chicken, Xingwen black-bone chicken, Dehua black-bone chicken, and Yanjin black-bone chicken. We found 13 haplotypes. Haplotype and nucleotide diversity of the nine black-bone chicken breeds ranged from 0 to 0.78571 and 0.00081 to 0.00399, respectively. Genetic diversity was the richest in Jinhu black-bone chickens and the lowest in Yanjin black-bone chickens. Analysis of phylogenetic trees for all birds constructed based on hyplotypes indicated that the maternal origin of black-bone chickens is predominantly from three subspecies of red jungle fowl. These results provide basic data useful for protection of black-bone chickens and help determine the origin of domestic chickens.

Abstract
Total pelvic exenteration was performed in 31 patients (30 males and 1 female) who had rectal cancers involving adjoining pelvic structures. Twenty-nine patients had primary tumors and two had recurrent diseases after previous abdominoperineal resection. Preoperative irradiation was used in nine patients with fixed tumors. When performing the surgical procedure, we also actively employed lateral node dissection to make the operation more radical. Three patients (one with primary tumor and two with recurrent) underwent the exenteration with partial sacrectomy because of the sacral involvement and they all died of local failure within 15 months. The overall 5-year survival rate was 52 percent for all patients and 56 percent for those who had primary tumors. The results suggest that total pelvic exenteration with lateral node dissection should be performed for locally advanced rectal cancer if the tumor is not completely fixed to the pelvic wall and preoperative irradiation should be used to convert a fixed tumor to a resectable one.

Abstract
The present study was conducted to obtain reference values for brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) and to evaluate influencing factors of baPWV according to gender. Using automatic devices, baPWV was measured simultaneously in 2095 subjects. A total of 647 healthy subjects, none of whom presented atherosclerotic risk factors, were analyzed in the present study. Two different statistical methods were used to obtain reference values for baPWV according to subject gender and age. The association between baPWV value and gender, as well as other features, were analyzed. For male subjects, multiple stepwise analysis showed that age, systolic blood pressure (SBP), heart rate (HR), and plasma levels of triglycerides (TG) were independent predictors of baPWV. For female subjects, age, SBP, HR, and plasma levels of uric acid (UA) were independent predictors of baPWV. In male subjects, the upper limits of baPWV values were 1497.43/1425.00, 1518.67/1513.25, 1715.97/1726.50, 1925.20/1971.90, and 2310.18/2115.00 cm/s, obtained using two different statistical methods for the age ranges of 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older, respectively. For females, the upper limits of baPWV values were 1426.70/1411.13, 1559.15/1498.95, 1733.50/1739.00, 1958.63/1973.78, and 2720.80/2577.00 cm/s for the age ranges of 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older, respectively. Aging is the most important influencing factor for baPWV value and its effect is more prominent in females. The reference values of baPWV according to age and gender may be useful for the clinical diagnosis and preventive therapy of cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract
Background The relationship between focal pulmonary vein potential and atrial fibrillation (AF) has been confirmed. Pulmonary vein (PV) isolation and circumferential pulmonary vein ablation have been the most commonly used procedures of radiofrequency ablation. However, few studies have investigated the relationship between anatomical characteristics of PV and AF recurrences after radiofrequency ablation. Methodology For 267 AF patients treated by radiofrequency catheter ablation, the anatomic structure characteristics of pulmonary veins were assessed by multi-slice spiral computed tomography while the values of left atrial diameter (LAD) were measured with transesophageal ultrasonic cardiogram. After radiofrequency catheter ablation, postoperative recurrence was evaluated during a 10-month term follow-up. Principal Findings During follow-up, postoperative recurrence occurred in 44 patients. The mean diameters of LAD, left superior PV, right superior PV, all left PV, and all superior PV were significantly larger in patients with postoperative recurrence (Recurrence vs. Non-recurrence group; 43.9 ± 6.4 mm vs. 40.7 ± 5.6 mm; 18.4 ± 2.1 mm vs. 17.1 ± 3.1 mm; 18.2 ± 2.8 mm vs. 17.2 mm ± 3.9 mm; 16.4 ± 1.5 mm vs. 15.6 ± 2.5 mm; 18.3 ± 2.1 mm vs. 17.1 ± 3.0 mm; respectively; all P < 0.05). Multivariable survival analysis showed that the type and the course of AF, LAD, and the diameters of all superior PV were the independent risk factors for the postoperative recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation. Conclusions The enlargements of all superior PV and LAD, long course of diseases, and persistent AF were the independent risk factors for the postoperative recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation.

Abstract
The presence of metal ions, such as titanium (Ti) ions, is toxic to adjacent tissues of implants. Indeed, Ti ions may induce an inflammatory response through the NF-κB pathway, thus causing damage to soft and hard tissues. The involvement of Yes-associated protein (YAP), a key factor of the Hippo pathway, in an immuno-inflammatory response has been confirmed, whereas its role in Ti ion-mediated inflammation has not been elucidated. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the role of signal crosstalk between the Hippo/YAP and NF-κB signaling pathways in the pro-inflammatory effect of Ti ions on macrophages. In our work, RAW264.7 cells were cocultured with Ti ions. The migration capacity of macrophages under Ti ion exposure was measured by transwell assay. Western blot analysis was used to detect the expressions of related proteins. Polymerase chain reaction was used to evaluate the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The nucleus translocation of YAP and P65 was visualized and analyzed via immunofluorescence staining. The results showed that the migration of macrophages was promoted under Ti ion exposure. Ten parts per million Ti ions induced nuclear expression of YAP and activated the NF-κB pathway, which finally upregulated the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines in macrophages. Moreover, the inhibition of the NF-κB pathway rescued the reduction of YAP expression under Ti ion exposure. Most importantly, the overexpression of YAP exacerbated the inflammatory response mediated by Ti ions through the NF-κB pathway. In summary, this study explored the mechanism of Hippo-YAP/NF-κB pathway crosstalk involved in the regulation of macrophage behaviors under Ti ion exposure.

Abstract
The peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor-γ coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) is a candidate gene for meat quality traits because of its prominent role in muscle fiber type switching and determination. We investigated the effects of the PGC-1α gene on chicken skeletal muscle fiber type switching and on other meat quality traits. Single nucleotide polymorphisms were detected by PCR-SSCP and DNA sequencing, and then genotyping was performed by PCR-ligation detection reaction methods. Skeletal muscle fiber types, intramuscular fat content, shear forces, and water loss rate of the gastrocnemius lateralis muscle were measured in Qingyuan Partridge chickens and Recessive White chickens. Four SNPs, C171T in exon2, C384T in exon3, G646A in exon5, and A948G in exon8 were detected. Marker-trait association analysis indicated that G646A polymorphism was associated with skeletal myofiber type and that H1 (CCAA) was the most advantageous haplotype for skeletal myofiber type. We concluded that polymorphisms of the PGC-1α gene and their haplotypes are associated with chicken skeletal myofiber type traits.

Abstract
To assess the results in treating locally recurrent soft tissue sarcomas of the retroperitoneum, we reviewed the clinical, therapeutic, and pathologic characteristics of 30 patients who underwent surgical exploration. Complete resection was achieved in 18 patients (60%), 6 with en bloc resection of adjacent organs involved by the tumors. Following the first operation for recurrent lesions, the median survival was 33 months for those undergoing complete resection and 14 months for those undergoing partial resection or biopsy (P = 0.04). Patients with a disease-free interval (DFI) of > 24 months were associated with better prognosis than those with DFI of < or = 24 months (median survival: 40 months vs. 17 months, P = 0.03). Patients with tumor size of < or = 20 cm had longer survival than those with tumor size of > 20 cm (median survival: 39 months vs. 23 months, P = 0.04). Among 14 patients who received adjuvant radiation therapy, four patients whose tumors had been considered unresectable at first exploration for recurrence underwent complete resection after preoperative radiation therapy. An aggressive surgery aimed at complete resection in treating recurrent retroperitoneal sarcomas is strongly recommended. We suggest that in large tumors preoperative radiation therapy should be used to reduce the tumor volume and therefore a higher rate of complete resection may be achieved.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to investigate the influence of fluoride exposure on implant osseointegration. METHODS A total of 24 male New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into the control group and the fluoride exposure group. Rabbits in the control group were fed with tap water, while those in the fluoride exposure group were given 200 mg/L sodium fluoride solution. After 2-month feeding, implants were inserted into the extraction socket immediately after extraction of rabbit mandibular anterior teeth. Four rabbits in each group were sacrificed to collect the implants samples at 1, 2, and 3 months post-implantation, respectively. Radiographic and histomorphometry examinations were performed to evaluate the condition of implant osseointegration. RESULTS Bone volume around the implants increased in a time-dependent manner in both groups. Micro-CT images illustrated that the bone mineral density (BMD) in the fluoride exposure group was significantly lower than that in the control group after implantation for 2 and 3 months. The bone-implant contact ratio (BIC) in the fluoride exposure group was much lower than that of the control group at 3 months post-implantation according to histomorphometry examination. CONCLUSIONS In rabbit animal model, high fluoride exposure affected the quality of bone surrounding the implant and significantly reduced bone integration of the implant, especially in the late stage of osseointegration.

Abstract
A stochastic Lotka-Volterra model, a so-called pulse-type model, for the interaction between two species and their random natural environment is investigated. The effect of a random environment is modeled as random pulse trains in the birth rate of the prey and the death rate of the predator. The generalized cell mapping method is applied to calculate the probability distributions of the species populations at a state of statistical quasistationarity. The time evolution of the population densities is studied, and the probability of the near extinction time, from an initial state to a critical state, is obtained. The effects on the ecosystem behaviors of the prey self-competition term and of the pulse mean arrival rate are also discussed. Our results indicate that the proposed pulse-type model shows obviously distinguishable characteristics from a Gaussian-type model, and may confer a significant advantage for modeling the prey-predator system under discrete environmental fluctuations.

Abstract
Titanium is widely used in implant materials, while excessive fluoride may have negative effects on the osseointegration between the titanium and osteoblasts. Although the underlying mechanisms are still not clear, the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) or Yes-associated protein (YAP) signaling pathways are thought to be involved. This study evaluated the role of Hippo/YAP and MAPK signaling pathway in osteoblast behaviors under excessive fluoride exposure in vitro and in vivo. Commercially pure Ti (cp-Ti) samples were exposed to fluoride (0, 0.1, and 1.0 mM NaF) for 7 days. Cell adhesion was observed using a laser scanning confocal microscope. Cell viability and apoptosis were evaluated by CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry, respectively. The expressions of osteoblast markers and key molecules in MAPK and YAP pathway were detected by Western blot. In vivo studies were evaluated by histology methods in C57/BL6 mice model. Our results showed that 1.0 mM NaF destroyed the passivation film on cp-Ti surface, which further inhibited the osteoblast adhesion and spreading. Meanwhile, compared to other groups, 1.0 mM NaF led to a remarkable reduction in cell viability (P < 0.05), as well as increased apoptosis (P < 0.05) and downregulation of osteogenesis protein expression (P < 0.05). MAPK and YAP signaling pathways were also activated under 1.0 mM NaF exposure, and JNK seemed to regulate YAP phosphorylation in response to NaF impacts on osteoblasts. In vivo fluorosis mouse model further indicated that 100 ppm NaF group (high fluoride group) increased bone resorption and inhibited the nuclear translocation of YAP. The osteoblast behaviors were negatively altered under excessive fluoride, and MAPK/JNK axis contributed to YAP signaling activation in regulating NaF-induced osteoblast behaviors. KEY MESSAGES: • Excessive fluoride inhibited osteoblast behaviors and bone formation. • YAP and MAPK signaling pathways were activated in osteoblasts under fluoride exposure. • Fluoride regulated osteoblast behaviors via the cross-talk between YAP and MAPK.

Abstract
The oral cavity is a complex environment that is constantly undergoing remodeling. This provides a favorable electrolytic aqueous condition, which causes the corrosion of titanium implants and the release of titanium (Ti) ions. The accumulation of Ti ions in the peri-implant tissues may affect the osteogenesis process. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the possible effects of Ti ions on osteoblast physiology and its underlying mechanism, specifically the MAPK/JNK signaling pathway. In the present study, MC3T3-E1 osteoblasts were cultured the medium containing 10 ppm Ti ions. Confocal laser scanning microscopy was used to analyze cell morphology and adhesion. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity assay and western blotting were performed to evaluate the expression of proteins associated with osteogenesis such as Runx2 and Osterix. Nuclear translocation of JNK, a key factor of the MAPK signaling pathway, was visualized and analyzed using immunofluorescence staining. The results showed that 10 ppm Ti ions exerted negative effects on the biological behaviors of MC3T3-E1 cells, which exhibited reduced adhesion, ALP activity and osteogenic differentiation. It was also found that 10 ppm Ti ions activated the MAPK/JNK signaling pathway by promoting the nuclear translocation of JNK via phosphorylation. In addition, the inhibitory effects of 10 ppm Ti ions on MC3T3-E1 cells was found to be reversed by the JNK inhibitor SP600125. In conclusion, the preset study suggests that the MAPK/JNK signaling pathway serves a key role in the molecular mechanism underlying the changes in osteoblast behavior following Ti ion exposure. These findings may serve as a valuable reference point for the further in-depth exploration of peri-implant bone loss.

Abstract
The development of effective methods to promote the osseointegration of dental implants by surface modification is an area of intense research in dental materials science. Exogenous metal ions present in the implant and surface modifications are closely related to the bone metabolism around the implant. In the complex oral microenvironment, the release of metal ions caused by continuous corrosion of dental implants has an unfavorable impact on the surrounding tissue, and then affects osseointegration, leading to bad results such as loosening and falling off in the late stage of the implant. Besides, these ions can even be distributed in distant tissues and organs. Currently, surface modification techniques are being developed that involve different processing technologies including the introduction of exogenous metal ions with different properties onto the surface of implants to improve performance. However, most metal elements have some level of biological toxicity and can only be used within a safe concentration range to exert the optimum biological effects on recipients. In this paper, we review the adverse effects of metal ions on osseointegration and highlight the emerging applications for metal elements in improving the performance of dental implants.

Abstract
The fat mass- and obesity-associated gene (FTO) is involved in energy metabolism, but little is known about the chicken FTO gene. The objective of the current study was to detect chicken FTO expression patterns in the hypothalamus, liver, and skeletal muscle during development, and analyze the effects of age and breed on FTO expression. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction results revealed that chicken FTO mRNA was expressed in all of the tissues tested. Chicken FTO exhibited tissue- and breed-specific patterns in the recessive White Plymouth Rock chicken and the Qingyuan partridge chicken. The highest FTO expression level was in the hypothalami of 1-week-old chicks. FTO mRNA was expressed more in the breast muscles and livers of recessive White Plymouth Rock chickens than those of Qingyuan partridge chickens at 1 and 8 weeks of age. These results indicate that FTO probably plays a significant role in energy metabolism at 1 week old, when chicks have undergone metabolic adaptations from yolk dependence to the utilization of exogenous feed.

Upregulation of NRAMP1 mRNA confirms its role in enhanced host immunity in post-artificial infections of Salmonella enteritidis in chicks. Br Poult Sci 2016; 56:408-15. Abstract
1. Salmonella enteritidis (SE) is reported as the most common food-borne pathogen transmitted through poultry products. The natural resistance-associated macrophage protein 1 (NRAMP1) is a candidate gene associated with SE-mediated immune response and is related to the phagocytosis of SE. In this study, the classical single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) G2357A in exon 8 of the NRAMP1 gene was detected. The expression of NRAMP1 mRNA was first investigated in heterophil granulocytes and spleen in chicks from two different Chinese native breeds at 1, 3 and 10 d post-infection. In addition, the association with the effect of SE challenge was identified. 2. The G2357A SNP showed no significant association with Salmonella natural infection in birds from two different Chinese native breeds. 3. The upregulation of NRAMP1 mRNA in heterophils and spleen was involved in the response to pathogenic SE colonisation during the acute infection period in chicks. The results suggest that genetics, age, gender and interactions among these factors play important roles in the modulation of NRAMP1 mRNA expression and copy number by SE-mediated immune response in different Chinese chickens. 4. In conclusion, the enhancement of host immunity mediated by the upregulation of NRAMP1 mRNA in heterophil granulocytes and spleen might be more obvious and earlier in the chicks resistant to infections with SE than in susceptible chicks.

Glucose fluctuations aggravated the late sodium current induced ventricular arrhythmias via the activation of ROS/CaMKII pathway. Eur J Pharmacol 2023; 961:176167. Abstract
BACKGROUND Recent evidence revealed that glucose fluctuation might be more likely to cause arrhythmia than persistent hyperglycemia, whereas its mechanisms were elusive. We aimed to investigate the effect of glucose fluctuation on the occurrence of ventricular arrhythmia and its mechanism. METHODS Streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats were randomized to five groups: the controlled blood glucose (C-STZ) group, uncontrolled blood glucose (U-STZ) group, fluctuated blood glucose (GF-STZ) group, and GF-STZ rats with 100 mg/kg Tempol (GF-STZ + Tempol) group or with 5 mg/kg KN93 (GF-STZ + KN93) group. Six weeks later, the susceptibility of ventricular arrhythmias and the electrophysiological dysfunctions of ventricular myocytes were evaluated using electrocardiogram and patch-clamp technique, respectively. The levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and oxidized CaMKII (ox-CaMKII) were determined by fluorescence assay and Western blot, respectively. Neonatal rat cardiomyocytes and H9C2 cells in vitro were used to explore the underlying mechanisms. RESULTS The induction rate of ventricular arrhythmias was 10%, 55%, and 90% in C-STZ group, U-STZ group, and GF-STZ group, respectively (P < 0.05). The electrophysiological dysfunctions of ventricular myocytes, including action potential duration at repolarization of 90% (APD90), APD90 short-term variability (APD90-STV), late sodium current (INa-L), early after depolarization (EAD) and delayed after depolarizations (DAD), as well as the levels of ROS and ox-CaMKII, were significantly increased in GF-STZ group. In vivo and ex vivo, inhibition of ROS or ox-CaMKII reversed these effects. Inhibition of INa-L also significantly alleviated the electrophysiological dysfunctions. In vitro, inhibition of ROS increase could significantly decrease the ox-CaMKII activation induced by glucose fluctuations. CONCLUSIONS Glucose fluctuations aggravated the INa-L induced ventricular arrhythmias though the activation of ROS/CaMKII pathway.

Abstract
The blue top-emitting organic light-emitting devices with cavity effect have been fabricated. The authors used the TBADN : 3% DSAPh as emitting material of blue microcavity OLEDs. The devices consisted of Ag/ITO/CuPc/NPB/TBADN : 3% DSAPh/Alq3/LiF/Al(Ag) structure. On a patterned glass substrate, silver was deposited as reflective anode, and copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) layer as HIL and 4'-bis[N-(1-Naphthyl)-N-phenyl-amino] biphenyl (NPB) layer as HTL were made. Aluminum and silver thin films were made as semi-transparent cathode. The transmittance of aluminum and silver (Al/Ag) cathode was about 30%. In EL spectrum, the full width at half maximum (FWHM) was only 17 nm. By changing the thicknesses of ITO, highly saturated color with Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage chromaticity coordinates (CIEx,y) of (0.141, 0.049) was obtained. In the present article, the emission intensity of spectrum was studied. An appropriate cathode transmittance will result in maximal emission intensity. By using the formula of microcavity, the approximative curve that describes the change of emission intensity with cathode transmittance (or reflectance) was figured out.

Abstract
26 patients with gastric stump cancer were treated by surgery plus chemotherapy or radiotherapy in our hospital from 1970 to 1992. 20 patients were qubiected to surgery plus chemotherapy 12 patients were operable six patients had simple radiotherapy. These patients were followed up to the end of 1992. Using Kaplan Meier method and log-rank test (P < 0.05), we analysed the factors effecting the survival rate and drew a conclusion that surgical treatment plus adjuvant chemotherapy is the treatment of choice, and if no-resection, we would treat it with chemotherapy rather than radiotherapy.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate and evaluate the correct cognition and influencing factors of mpox expertise among relevant Chinese clinicians and to provide a reference for prevention and control. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among clinicians in relevant departments using a structured questionnaire compiled by ourselves through a non-random network recruitment method. The content includes demography, clinical specialties, and characteristics of medical institutions, and 37 questions to evaluate the professional cognition of mpox etiology, clinical characteristics, transmission, prevention, and control. Using the modified Bloom's cutoff point to determine the correct answer is greater than or equal to 26 entitled correct cognition. A logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors influencing the correct cognition rate. Results: A total of 4 332 clinicians in 23 provinces (autonomous regions, municipality) in China were investigated by online questionnaires and 4 276 effective questionnaires were collected, with an effective rate of 98.71%. The mean age of the respondents was (39.46±9.54) years old, 61.18% were female. The overall correct cognition rate of mpox expertise was 62.04% (95%CI: 60.59%-63.50%), the correct cognition rates of mpox etiology, clinical characteristics, transmission, prevention and control were 48.25% (95%CI: 46.68%-49.82%), 78.66% (95%CI: 77.38%-79.95%), 68.56% (95%CI: 67.10%-70.02%), respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the relevant factors affecting the overall correct cognition of mpox expertise among Chinese clinicians included gender (female: OR=1.54, 95%CI: 1.31-1.80), region (eastern region: OR=1.46, 95%CI: 1.18-1.79; midwestern region: OR=1.24, 95%CI: 1.04-1.49), professional title (deputy senior: OR=1.43, 95%CI:1.16-1.76; senior: OR=1.72, 95%CI:1.30-2.28), the clinical field (the clinical fields of dermatology and venereal diseases: OR=1.78, 95%CI: 1.42-2.23). Conclusions: The overall correct cognition rate of mpox expertise among relevant Chinese clinicians was low. It was essential to conduct mpox knowledge training for clinicians in males, northeast regions, junior professional title and the clinical fields other than dermatology and venereal diseases to improve their correct cognition rates and epidemic prevention and control ability.

Abstract
By using 2-(fluorosulfonyl)difluoroacetic acid as sulfur reagent, bisindole sulfanes were highly efficient synthesized under transition-metal-free conditions. Results indicate that this proceeded not at the relatively acidic C-2 position but rather selectively at the nucleophilic C-3 position to give the desired compounds with excellent regioselectivities and good yields.
