Abstract
Water balance is crucial for the growth and flowering of plants. However, the mechanisms by which flowers maintain water balance are poorly understood across different angiosperm branches. Here, we investigated 29 floral hydraulic and economic traits in 24 species from ANA grade, magnoliids, monocots, and eudicots. Our main objective was to compare differences in flower water use strategies between basal angiosperms (ANA grade and magnoliids) and derived group (monocots and eudicots). We found that basal angiosperms had richer petal stomatal density, higher pedicel hydraulic diameter, and flower mass per area, but lower pedicel vessel wall reinforcement and epidermal cell thickness compared to monocots and eudicots. We also observed significant trade-offs and coordination among different floral traits. Floral traits associated with reproduction, such as floral longevity and size, were strongly linked with physiological and anatomical traits. Our results systematically reveal the variation in flower economic and hydraulic traits from different angiosperm branches, deepening understanding of flower water use strategies among these plant taxa. We conclude that basal angiosperms maintain water balance with high water supply, whereas monocots and eudicots maintain a more conservative water balance.

Does sinus membrane thickness influence the risk of perforation during lateral sinus lift surgery for dental implants? a systematic review and meta-analysis. Med Oral Patol Oral Cir Bucal 2024:26545. Abstract
BACKGROUND We reviewed the literature to examine if the thickness of the sinus membrane is a risk factor for perforation during lateral sinus lift surgery. MATERIAL AND METHODS We searched Embase, PubMed, and Web of Science databases till 4th December 2023 for studies examining the risk of perforation with different sinus membrane thicknesses. Studies reporting sinus membrane thickness in perforation and non-perforation cases were also included. RESULTS Eleven studies were eligible. All studies used cone beam computed tomography for measuring sinus membrane thickness. Meta-analysis showed that sinus membrane thickness was significantly lower in perforation cases as compared to non-perforation cases (MD: -0.91 95% CI: -1.48, -0.33 I2=94%). Four studies used 2mm as the cut-off to define thick and thin sinus membranes. Pooled analysis failed to demonstrate any significant difference in perforation rates (OR: 0.97 95% CI: 0.44, 2.17 I2=56%). Meta-analysis of studies using 1.5mm (OR: 0.66 95% CI: 0.29, 1.48 I2=72%) and 1mm cut-off (OR: 0.93 95% CI: 0.34, 2.56) also demonstrated similar non-significant results. CONCLUSIONS Our study shows that the sinus membrane is significantly thinner in cases with perforations as compared to those with no perforations. However, a meta-analysis based on different membrane thickness cut-offs failed to demonstrate a relationship between thinner sinus membranes and a higher risk of perforation. There is a need for further studies examining the role of sinus membrane thickness on perforation rates.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMD) may exhibit different immune responses to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection compared to healthy individuals. While previous studies have primarily investigated changes in COVID-19-related antibodies post-vaccination for RMD patients, this study sought to explore the dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies and neutralising antibodies (NAb) in RMD patients after COVID-19 infection. METHODS In this longitudinal study, we monitored the SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies and NAb levels in RMD patients and healthy controls (HC) at 60 and 90 days post-COVID-19 infection. Chemiluminescent immunoassay was used to detect the levels of novel coronavirus-specific IgG (anti-S1/S2 IgG) antibodies and NAb. RESULTS A total of 292 RMD patients and 104 HC were enrolled in the study. At both the 60-day and 90-day post-COVID-19 infection, RMD patients exhibited significantly lower levels of anti-S1/S2 IgG and NAb than those in the HC group (p<0.001). The anti-S1/S2 IgG antibody levels remained relatively stable, while the NAb levels in RMD patients could vary greatly between the 60th and 90th days. A logistic regression analysis revealed that the prior administration of glucocorticoids (GC), immunosuppressants, and b/tsDMARDs stood out as independent risk factors associated with reduced anti-S1/S2 IgG and NAb levels, irrespective of the specific RMD subtypes. CONCLUSIONS GC and anti-rheumatic medications can potentially alter the production of specific antibodies, especially NAb, in RMD patients post-COVID-19 infection. These findings emphasise the importance of continuous monitoring for NAb fluctuations in RMD patients following a COVID-19 infection.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the endoscopic combined serological diagnosis strategy for G1 and G2 gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (G-NENs), and to evaluate the safety, short-term, and long-term efficacy of two endoscopic treatment procedures: endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 100 consecutive patients with G-NENs who were hospitalized at the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January 2011 to October 2023. These patients underwent endoscopic treatment, and propensity score matching (PSM) was used to compare clinicopathological characteristics, as well as short-term and long-term efficacy of lesions in the EMR group and ESD group before and after treatment. Results: Among the 100 patients with G-NENs, the median age was 54 years old. Before surgery, 29 cases underwent endoscopic combined serological examination, and 24 of them (82.2%) had abnormally elevated plasma chromogranin A. The combined diagnostic strategy for autoimmune atrophic gastritis (AIG) achieved a diagnostic accuracy of 100%(22/22). A total of 235 G-NEN lesions were included, with 84 in the ESD group and 151 in the EMR group. The median size of the lesions in the ESD group (5.0 mm) was significantly larger than that in the EMR group (2.0 mm, P<0.001). Additionally, the ESD group had significantly more lesions with pathological grade G2[23.8%(20/84) vs. 1.3%(2/151), P<0.001], infiltration depth reaching the submucosal layer [78.6%(66/84) vs. 51.0%(77/151), P<0.001], and more T2 stage compared to the EMR group[15.5%(13/84) vs. 0.7%(1/151), P<0.001]. After PSM, 49 pairs of lesions were successfully matched between the two groups. Following PSM, there were no significant differences in the en bloc resection rate [100.0%(49/49) vs. 100.0%(49/49)], complete resection rate [93.9%(46/49) vs. 100.0%(49/49)], and complication rate [0(0/49) vs. 4.1%(2/49)] between the two groups. During the follow-up period, no recurrence or distant metastasis was observed in any of the lesions in both groups. Conclusions: The combination of endoscopy and serology diagnostic strategy has the potential to enhance the accuracy of diagnosing G1 and G2 stage G-NENs and their background mucosa. Endoscopic resection surgery (EMR, ESD) is a proven and safe treatment approach for G1 and G2 stage G-NENs.

Abstract
This Letter presents the first study of Higgs boson production in association with a vector boson (V=W or Z) in the fully hadronic qqbb final state using data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb^{-1}. The vector bosons and Higgs bosons are each reconstructed as large-radius jets and tagged using jet substructure techniques. Dedicated tagging algorithms exploiting b-tagging properties are used to identify jets consistent with Higgs bosons decaying into bb[over ¯]. Dominant backgrounds from multijet production are determined directly from the data, and a likelihood fit to the jet mass distribution of Higgs boson candidates is used to extract the number of signal events. The VH production cross section is measured inclusively and differentially in several ranges of Higgs boson transverse momentum: 250-450, 450-650, and greater than 650 GeV. The inclusive signal yield relative to the standard model expectation is observed to be μ=1.4_{-0.9}^{+1.0} and the corresponding cross section is 3.1±1.3(stat)_{-1.4}^{+1.8}(syst) pb.

Abstract
ATLAS measured the centrality dependence of the dijet yield using 165 nb^{-1} of p+Pb data collected at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV in 2016. The event centrality, which reflects the p+Pb impact parameter, is characterized by the total transverse energy registered in the Pb-going side of the forward calorimeter. The central-to-peripheral ratio of the scaled dijet yields, R_{CP}, is evaluated, and the results are presented as a function of variables that reflect the kinematics of the initial hard parton scattering process. The R_{CP} shows a scaling with the Bjorken x of the parton originating from the proton, x_{p}, while no such trend is observed as a function of x_{Pb}. This analysis provides unique input to understanding the role of small proton spatial configurations in p+Pb collisions by covering parton momentum fractions from the valence region down to x_{p}∼10^{-3} and x_{Pb}∼4×10^{-4}.

Abstract
Searches for new resonances are performed using an unsupervised anomaly-detection technique. Events with at least one electron or muon are selected from 140 fb^{-1} of pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded by ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider. The approach involves training an autoencoder on data, and subsequently defining anomalous regions based on the reconstruction loss of the decoder. Studies focus on nine invariant mass spectra that contain pairs of objects consisting of one light jet or b jet and either one lepton (e,μ), photon, or second light jet or b jet in the anomalous regions. No significant deviations from the background hypotheses are observed. Limits on contributions from generic Gaussian signals with various widths of the resonance mass are obtained for nine invariant masses in the anomalous regions.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WZγ production and a measurement of its cross section using 140.1±1.2 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The WZγ production cross section, with both the W and Z bosons decaying leptonically, pp→WZγ→ℓ^{'}^{±}νℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}γ (ℓ^{(^{'})}=e, μ), is measured in a fiducial phase-space region defined such that the leptons and the photon have high transverse momentum and the photon is isolated. The cross section is found to be 2.01±0.30(stat)±0.16(syst) fb. The corresponding standard model predicted cross section calculated at next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics and at leading order in the electroweak coupling constant is 1.50±0.06 fb. The observed significance of the WZγ signal is 6.3σ, compared with an expected significance of 5.0σ.

Abstract
A measurement of the mass of the Higgs boson combining the H→ZZ^{*}→4ℓ and H→γγ decay channels is presented. The result is based on 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector during LHC run 2 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV combined with the run 1 ATLAS mass measurement, performed at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, yielding a Higgs boson mass of 125.11±0.09(stat)±0.06(syst)=125.11±0.11 GeV. This corresponds to a 0.09% precision achieved on this fundamental parameter of the Standard Model of particle physics.

Abstract
A search for events with a dark photon produced in association with a dark Higgs boson via rare decays of the standard model Z boson is presented, using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The dark boson decays into a pair of dark photons, and at least two of the three dark photons must each decay into a pair of electrons or muons, resulting in at least two same-flavor opposite-charge lepton pairs in the final state. The data are found to be consistent with the background prediction, and upper limits are set on the dark photon's coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}ϵ^{2}, in the dark photon mass range of [5, 40] GeV except for the ϒ mass window [8.8, 11.1] GeV. This search explores new parameter space not previously excluded by other experiments.

Abstract
CONTEXT Current chemotherapeutic drugs cannot meet the treatment needs of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), so urgent action is needed to discover novel chemotherapeutic agents. Our previous study revealed that garcinone E (GE) inhibited the proliferation and metastasis of NPC, suggesting that the compound might display promising anticancer activity. OBJECTIVE To examine the mechanism underlying the anti-NPC activity of GE for the first time. MATERIALS AND METHODS For MTS assay, NPC cells were treated with 2.5-20 μmol/L GE or dimethyl sulfoxide for 24, 48, and 72 h. Colony formation capacity, cell cycle distribution, and in vivo xenograft experiment of GE were assessed. MDC staining, StubRFP-sensGFP-LC3 observation, LysoBrite Blue staining, and immunofluorescence examined the autophagy of NPC cells after GE exposure. Western blotting, RNA-sequencing, and RT-qPCR measured protein and mRNA levels. RESULTS GE suppressed cell viability with an IC50 of 7.64, 8.83 and 4.65 μmol/L for HK1, HONE1 and S18 cells. GE inhibited colony formation and cell cycle, increased autophagosome number, and inhibited the autophagic flux partially by blocking lysosome-autophagosome fusion, and repressed S18 xenograft growth. GE dysregulated the expression of autophagy- and cell cycle-related proteins such as Beclin-1, SQSTM1/p62, LC3, CDKs, and Cyclins. Bioinformatics GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis of RNA-seq showed that autophagy was enriched in differentially expressed genes upon GE treatment. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION GE acts as an autophagic flux inhibitor, which may have potential chemotherapeutic use for NPC treatment and may have an application in basic research to explore the mechanisms of autophagy.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of single top quarks produced together with a photon, which directly probes the electroweak coupling of the top quark. The analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of 13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Requiring a photon with transverse momentum larger than 20 GeV and within the detector acceptance, the fiducial cross section is measured to be 688±23(stat) _{-71}^{+75}(syst) fb, to be compared with the standard model prediction of 515_{-42}^{+36} fb at next-to-leading order in QCD.

Abstract
Long-term management of inflammatory skin diseases is challenging because of side effects from repeated use of systemic treatments or topical corticosteroids. This study sought to identify the mechanisms and developmental therapeutics for these diseases using genetic models and pharmacological approaches. We found that mice overexpressing SMAD7 in keratinocytes but not mice overexpressing the N-terminal domain of SMAD7 (i.e., N-SMAD7) were resistant to imiquimod-induced T helper 1/17- and T helper 2-type inflammation. We generated a Tat-PYC-SMAD7 (truncated SMAD7 protein encompassing C-terminal SMAD7 and PY motif fused with cell-penetrating Tat peptide). Topically applied Tat-PYC-SMAD7 to inflamed skin entered cells upon contact and attenuated imiquimod-, 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene-, and tape-stripping-induced inflammation. RNA-sequencing analyses of mouse skin exposed to these insults showed that in addition to inhibiting TGFβ/NF-κB, SMAD7 blunted IL-22/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 activation and associated pathogenesis, which is due to SMAD7 transcriptionally upregulating IL-22 antagonist IL-22RA2. Mechanistically, SMAD7 facilitated nuclear translocation and DNA binding of C/EBPβ to IL22RA2 promoter for IL22RA2 transactivation. Consistent with the observations in mice mentioned earlier, transcript levels of IL22RA2 were increased in human atopic dermatitis and psoriasis lesions with clinical remission. Our study identified the anti-inflammation functional domain of SMAD7 and suggests the mechanism and feasibility for developing SMAD7-based biologics as a topical therapy for skin inflammatory disorders.

This letter presents a measurement of the nuclear modification factor of large-radius jets in sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV Pb+Pb collisions by the ATLAS experiment. The measurement is performed using 1.72 nb^{-1} and 257 pb^{-1} of Pb+Pb and pp data, respectively. The large-radius jets are reconstructed with the anti-k_{t} algorithm using a radius parameter of R=1.0, by reclustering anti-k_{t} R=0.2 jets, and are measured over the transverse momentum (p_{T}) kinematic range of 158

A key open question in the study of multiparticle production in high-energy pp collisions is the relationship between the "ridge"-i.e., the observed azimuthal correlations between particles in the underlying event that extend over all rapidities-and hard or semihard scattering processes. In particular, it is not known whether jets or their soft fragments are correlated with particles in the underlying event. To address this question, two-particle correlations are measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, with an integrated luminosity of 15.8 pb^{-1}, in two different configurations. In the first case, charged particles associated with jets are excluded from the correlation analysis, while in the second case, correlations are measured between particles within jets and charged particles from the underlying event. Second-order flow coefficients, v_{2}, are presented as a function of event multiplicity and transverse momentum. These measurements show that excluding particles associated with jets does not affect the measured correlations. Moreover, particles associated with jets do not exhibit any significant azimuthal correlations with the underlying event, ruling out hard processes contributing to the ridge.

Abstract
A search is made for potential ccc[over ¯]c[over ¯] tetraquarks decaying into a pair of charmonium states in the four muon final state using proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS experiment at LHC. Two decay channels, J/ψ+J/ψ→4μ and J/ψ+ψ(2S)→4μ, are studied. Backgrounds are estimated based on a hybrid approach involving Monte Carlo simulations and data-driven methods. Statistically significant excesses with respect to backgrounds dominated by the single parton scattering are seen in the di-J/ψ channel consistent with a narrow resonance at 6.9 GeV and a broader structure at lower mass. A statistically significant excess is also seen in the J/ψ+ψ(2S) channel. The fitted masses and decay widths of the structures are reported.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of τ-lepton-pair production in ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions Pb+Pb→Pb(γγ→ττ)Pb and constraints on the τ-lepton anomalous magnetic moment a_{τ}. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.44 nb^{-1} of LHC Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment in 2018. Selected events contain one muon from a τ-lepton decay, an electron or charged-particle track(s) from the other τ-lepton decay, little additional central-detector activity, and no forward neutrons. The γγ→ττ process is observed in Pb+Pb collisions with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations and a signal strength of μ_{ττ}=1.03_{-0.05}^{+0.06} assuming the standard model value for a_{τ}. To measure a_{τ}, a template fit to the muon transverse-momentum distribution from τ-lepton candidates is performed, using a dimuon (γγ→μμ) control sample to constrain systematic uncertainties. The observed 95% confidence-level interval for a_{τ} is -0.057

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Although shift work has been reported as having a link to dementia, evidence remains inconsistent, and a comprehensive dose-response meta-analysis of the association is still lacking. We therefore conducted this meta-analysis to explore the association between shift work and the risk of dementia. STUDY DESIGN Systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis. METHODS PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases were systematically searched. Fixed or random-effects models were used to estimate the summary relative risks (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs). Generalized least squares regression was used to estimate dose-response associations, and restricted cubic splines were used to examine possible linear or non-linear associations. RESULTS Five articles (10 studies) with 72,999 participants and 23,067 cases were eventually included in the meta-analysis. The summary RRs and 95% CIs of dementia risk with shift work and night shift work versus daytime work were 1.13 (95% CI: 1.05-1.21, I2 = 46.70%) and 1.13 (95% CI: 1.03-1.24, I2 = 9.20%), respectively. The risk of dementia increased by 1% (RR = 1.01, 95% CI: 1.01-1.02, I2 = 41.3%) with each 1-year increase in the duration of shift work. We found a non-linear dose-response association between the duration of shift work and the risk of dementia (Pnon-linearity = 0.006). Though the shape of the curve was steeper with the duration of shift work <7 years, the increase was more gradual after 7 years. CONCLUSION Our findings suggest that shift work may be a risk factor for future dementia and that controlling the length of shift work is a feasible measure that may contribute to prevent dementia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a devastating disease most often associated with tobacco consumption that induces a field of mutations from which a tumor arises. Identification of ways to prevent the emergence of cancer in high-risk patients is an ultimate goal for combatting all types of cancer, including OSCC. METHODS Our study employs a mouse model of tongue carcinogenesis induced by tobacco carcinogen mimetic, 4-nitroquinoline 1-oxide (4NQO), to establish tongue dysplasia and OSCC. We use conventional histology, immunohistochemistry, multispectral imaging, mass cytometry, novel cell lines, pharmaceutical inhibition of PI3Kγ, T-cell suppression assays and mouse transplant models in our functional experimentation. RESULTS In our study, we identify Ly6G+ granulocytes as the most abundant immune cell type in a model of tongue carcinogenesis induced by tobacco carcinogen mimetic 4NQO. Targeting Ly6G+ granulocytes with a pharmacologic inhibitor of PI3Kγ, an isoform of PI3K exclusively expressed by myeloid cells, resulted in reduced tongue dysplasia severity, and reduced rates of OSCC. Importantly, we performed functional assays with the Ly6G+ granulocytes induced in cell line models of 4NQO carcinogenesis to demonstrate that these granulocytes have increased polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSC) activity against T-cell proliferation and these PMN-MDSCs play a functional role in promoting tumor formation by inhibiting tumor regression in a PI3Kγ-dependent manner. CONCLUSIONS Overall, our data suggest that recruitment of PMN-MDSCs to sites of dysplasia is critical to immune suppression of CD8 T cells, thereby permitting malignancy, and PI3Kγ inhibitors are one mechanism to reduce PMN-MDSC recruitment, immunosuppression and tumorigenesis in OSCC.

Abstract
Transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) activity is linked to metastasis in many cancer types, but whether TGFβ activity is necessary for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) lung metastasis has not been studied. Here we used a lung metastatic SCC model derived from keratin 15 (K15). KrasG12D.Smad4-/- SCC and human SCC specimens to identify metastasis drivers and test therapeutic interventions. We demonstrated that a TGFβ receptor (TGFβR) inhibitor reduced lung metastasis in mouse SCC correlating with reduced CD11b+/Ly6G+ myeloid cells positive for inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). Further, TGFβ activity and iNOS were higher in primary human oral SCCs with metastasis than SCCs without metastasis. Consistently, either depleting myeloid cells with anti-Gr1 antibody or inhibiting iNOS with L-N6-(1-iminoethyl)-l-lysine (L-NIL) reduced SCC lung metastasis. L-NIL treated tumor-bearing mice exhibited reductions in tumor-infiltrating myeloid cells and in plasma Cxcl5 levels, and attenuated primary tumor growth with increased apoptosis and decreased proliferation. Blocking Cxcl5 with an antagonist of its receptor Cxcr2, SB225002, also reduced SCC lung metastasis.

Abstract
Jet quenching is the process of color-charged partons losing energy via interactions with quark-gluon plasma droplets created in heavy-ion collisions. The collective expansion of such droplets is well described by viscous hydrodynamics. Similar evidence of collectivity is consistently observed in smaller collision systems, including pp and p+Pb collisions. In contrast, while jet quenching is observed in Pb+Pb collisions, no evidence has been found in these small systems to date, raising fundamental questions about the nature of the system created in these collisions. The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider has measured the yield of charged hadrons correlated with reconstructed jets in 0.36 nb^{-1} of p+Pb and 3.6 pb^{-1} of pp collisions at 5.02 TeV. The yields of charged hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>0.5 GeV near and opposite in azimuth to jets with p_{T}^{jet}>30 or 60 GeV, and the ratios of these yields between p+Pb and pp collisions, I_{pPb}, are reported. The collision centrality of p+Pb events is categorized by the energy deposited by forward neutrons from the struck nucleus. The I_{pPb} values are consistent with unity within a few percent for hadrons with p_{T}^{ch}>4 GeV at all centralities. These data provide new, strong constraints that preclude almost any parton energy loss in central p+Pb collisions.

A search for a long-lived, heavy neutral lepton (N) in 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is reported. The N is produced via W→Nμ or W→Ne and decays into two charged leptons and a neutrino, forming a displaced vertex. The N mass is used to discriminate between signal and background. No signal is observed, and limits are set on the squared mixing parameters of the N with the left-handed neutrino states for the N mass range 3 GeV

Abstract
A test of CP invariance in Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion has been performed in the H→γγ channel using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The optimal observable method is used to probe the CP structure of interactions between the Higgs boson and electroweak gauge bosons, as described by an effective field theory. No sign of CP violation is observed in the data. Constraints are set on the parameters describing the strength of the CP-odd component in the coupling between the Higgs boson and the electroweak gauge bosons in two effective field theory bases: d[over ˜] in the HISZ basis and c_{HW[over ˜]} in the Warsaw basis. The results presented are the most stringent constraints on CP violation in the coupling between Higgs and weak bosons. The 95% C.L. constraint on d[over ˜] is derived for the first time and the 95% C.L. constraint on c_{HW[over ˜]} has been improved by a factor of 5 compared to the previous measurement.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the risk factors for the development of deep infiltration in early colorectal tumors (ECT) and to construct a prediction model to predict the development of deep infiltration in patients with ECT. Methods: The clinicopathological data of ECT patients who underwent endoscopic treatment or surgical treatment at the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from August 2010 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The independent risk factors were analyzed by multifactorial regression analysis, and the prediction models were constructed and validated by nomogram. Results: Among the 717 ECT patients, 590 patients were divided in the within superficial infiltration 1 (SM1) group (infiltration depth within SM1) and 127 patients in the exceeding SM1 group (infiltration depth more than SM1). There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age, and lesion location between the two groups (P>0.05). The statistically significant differences were observed in tumor morphological staging, preoperative endoscopic assessment performance, vascular tumor emboli and nerve infiltration, and degree of tumor differentiation (P<0.05). Multivariate regression analysis showed that only erosion or rupture (OR=4.028, 95% CI: 1.468, 11.050, P=0.007), localized depression (OR=3.105, 95% CI: 1.584, 6.088, P=0.001), infiltrative JNET staging (OR=5.622, 95% CI: 3.029, 10.434, P<0.001), and infiltrative Pit pattern (OR=2.722, 95% CI: 1.347, 5.702, P=0.006) were independent risk factors for the development of deep submucosal infiltration in ECT. Nomogram was constructed with the included independent risk factors, and the nomogram was well distinguished and calibrated in predicting the occurrence of deep submucosal infiltration in ECT, with a C-index and area under the curve of 0.920 (95% CI: 0.811, 0.929). Conclusion: The nomogram prediction model constructed based on only erosion or rupture, local depression, infiltrative JNET typing, and infiltrative Pit pattern has a good predictive efficacy in the occurrence of deep submucosal infiltration in ECT.

Abstract
Objective: Risk factors related to residual cancer or lymph node metastasis after endoscopic non-curative resection of early colorectal cancer were analyzed to predict the risk of residual cancer or lymph node metastasis, optimize the indications of radical surgical surgery, and avoid excessive additional surgical operations. Methods: Clinical data of 81 patients who received endoscopic treatment for early colorectal cancer in the Department of Endoscopy, Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from 2009 to 2019 and received additional radical surgical surgery after endoscopic resection with pathological indication of non-curative resection were collected to analyze the relationship between various factors and the risk of residual cancer or lymph node metastasis after endoscopic resection. Results: Of the 81 patients, 17 (21.0%) were positive for residual cancer or lymph node metastasis, while 64 (79.0%) were negative. Among 17 patients with residual cancer or positive lymph node metastasis, 3 patients had only residual cancer (2 patients with positive vertical cutting edge). 11 patients had only lymph node metastasis, and 3 patients had both residual cancer and lymph node metastasis. Lesion location, poorly differentiated cancer, depth of submucosal invasion ≥2 000 μm, venous invasion were associated with residual cancer or lymph node metastasis after endoscopic (P<0.05). Logistic multivariate regression analysis showed that poorly differentiated cancer (OR=5.513, 95% CI: 1.423, 21.352, P=0.013) was an independent risk factor for residual cancer or lymph node metastasis after endoscopic non-curative resection of early colorectal cancer. Conclusions: For early colorectal cancer after endoscopic non-curable resection, residual cancer or lymph node metastasis is associated with poorly differentiated cancer, depth of submucosal invasion ≥2 000 μm, venous invasion and the lesions are located in the descending colon, transverse colon, ascending colon and cecum with the postoperative mucosal pathology result. For early colorectal cancer, poorly differentiated cancer is an independent risk factor for residual cancer or lymph node metastasis after endoscopic non-curative resection, which is suggested that radical surgery should be added after endoscopic treatment.

Abstract
Objective: Reflux esophagitis (RE) may be negatively correlated with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, but the conclusion and relevant mechanism is still controversial. This study proposed to explore the correlation between RE and H. pylori infection based on natural population. Methods: From July 2013 to December 2014, 3 940 residents aged 40-69 years were recruited in Linqu County of Shandong Province and Hua County of Henan Province by the whole sampling method. All the subjects underwent gastroscopy, and gastric mucosa biopsy specimens were collected for pathological diagnosis and Warthin-Starry (WS) staining to identify H. pylori infection. Venous blood samples of some subjects were collected for H. pylori immunoglobulin G (H. pylori-IgG) detection. Also, demographic and sociological data were collected. Chi-square test and logistic regression were used to analyze the correlation between RE and H. pylori infection. Results: A total of 359 cases of RE were detected. Excluding RE and other upper gastrointestinal organic diseases, 3 382 cases were considered as controls. Chi-square test showed that WS staining positive rate in RE group was significantly lower than that in control group (P=0.023), but there was no significant difference in the positive rate of H. pylori-IgG between the two groups (P=0.281). There were significant differences between RE group and control group in gender composition, age, body mass index (BMI), smoking, alcohol consumption, education level and mucosal active inflammation. Multivariate regression analysis showed that RE was negatively correlated with gastric mucosa active inflammation [OR=0.754 (95%CI 0.600-0.949), P=0.016], and positively correlated with male [OR=4.231 (95%CI 3.263-5.486), P<0.001], age ≥60 years, BMI≥24 kg/m2 [OR=1.540 (95%CI 1.220-1.945), P<0.001]. Compared to those aged 40-49 years and 50-59 years, the odds ratio (OR) of RE in these aged ≥60 years were 1.566 (95%CI 1.144-2.143, P=0.005) and 1.405 (95%CI 1.093-1.805, P=0.008). Conclusion: RE is more closely related to H. pylori present infection. Multivariate analysis showed that RE is negatively correlated with active inflammation of gastric mucosa caused by H. pylori infection, and positively correlated with male, overweight and aged ≥60 years.

Abstract
This Letter reports the observation of WWW production and a measurement of its cross section using 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with two same-sign leptons (electrons or muons) and at least two jets, as well as events with three charged leptons, are selected. A multivariate technique is then used to discriminate between signal and background events. Events from WWW production are observed with a significance of 8.0 standard deviations, where the expectation is 5.4 standard deviations. The inclusive WWW production cross section is measured to be 820±100 (stat)±80 (syst) fb, approximately 2.6 standard deviations from the predicted cross section of 511±18 fb calculated at next-to-leading-order QCD and leading-order electroweak accuracy.

Abstract
The standard model of particle physics1-4 describes the known fundamental particles and forces that make up our Universe, with the exception of gravity. One of the central features of the standard model is a field that permeates all of space and interacts with fundamental particles5-9. The quantum excitation of this field, known as the Higgs field, manifests itself as the Higgs boson, the only fundamental particle with no spin. In 2012, a particle with properties consistent with the Higgs boson of the standard model was observed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN10,11. Since then, more than 30 times as many Higgs bosons have been recorded by the ATLAS experiment, enabling much more precise measurements and new tests of the theory. Here, on the basis of this larger dataset, we combine an unprecedented number of production and decay processes of the Higgs boson to scrutinize its interactions with elementary particles. Interactions with gluons, photons, and W and Z bosons-the carriers of the strong, electromagnetic and weak forces-are studied in detail. Interactions with three third-generation matter particles (bottom (b) and top (t) quarks, and tau leptons (τ)) are well measured and indications of interactions with a second-generation particle (muons, μ) are emerging. These tests reveal that the Higgs boson discovered ten years ago is remarkably consistent with the predictions of the theory and provide stringent constraints on many models of new phenomena beyond the standard model.

Abstract
Abstract
Purpose: Patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) have a dismal survival rate. The effects of the extracellular matrix (ECM) on cancer progression have been long studied, but the roles of specific integrins in the process of HNSCC metastasis remain to be dissected. This study aims to determine how HNSCC cells affect the production of laminin-binding integrins, and how these integrins participate in the ECM interactions necessary for a metastatic phenotype.
Experimental design: Our laboratory has produced syngeneic mouse SCC cell lines, P029 and A223, derived from Keratin15+ stem cells with Smad4 loss and KrasG12D mutation. In syngeneic recipients, SCCs derived from P029 cells transplanted to the flank mouse skin produced spontaneous metastases to the lung while SCCs derived from A223 cells did not form metastases. Having the same genotype, these cell lines serve as models to examine cancer cell interactions with the ECM and resulting effects on invasion and metastasis. Bulk RNA sequencing (RNAseq) was performed to compare cultured metastatic P029 cells versus non-metastatic A223 cells and identify differentially expressed genes that regulate SCC cells and ECM interactions. Immunoassays and functional invasion assays were performed to evaluate ECM-cancer cell signaling and influence on cancer cell invasion in these two cell lines.
Results: RNAseq analysis revealed that, relative to A223 cells, P029 cells have increased levels of integrins, the main mechanoreceptors for numerous ECM ligands and matrix proteins. Laminin-binding integrins, including integrins α4 and β6, were greater at the RNA and protein levels. Additionally, P029 cells expressed higher levels of fibronectin and laminin coding genes compared to non-metastatic A223 cells. Correlatively, high expression of these matrix proteins is associated with worse patient survival. Additionally, P029 SCC cells displayed differential gene expression of tight and apical junctions, PI3K signaling components, and regulators of cytoskeletal remodeling. Furthermore, ELISA and western blot analysis revealed that P029 has aberrant TGFβ-Smad signaling as indicated by the elevated release of TGFβ-1 protein and higher levels of phosphorylated Smad2 and Smad3 relative to non-metastatic A223. Treating P029 cells with TGFβ-1 significantly increased their motility and invasion. Conversely, migration and motility of P029 cells were radically reduced by the TGFβ inhibitor galunisertib. Additionally, the mouse cytokine array revealed that mouse plasma bearing P029 tumors had a greater circulation of CXCL16, MMP-9, proliferin, and serpin E1. These proteins are associated with ECM remodeling and metastasis in HNSCC.
Conclusions: SCC cells with metastatic properties upregulate integrins which bind to non-collagen matrix proteins and have elevated invasive and migratory capacity contributed from activated TGFβ signaling.

[Establishment and clinical validation of an artificial intelligence YOLOv51 model for the detection of precancerous lesions and superficial esophageal cancer in endoscopic procedure]. Abstract
Objective: To construct the diagnostic model of superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and precancerous lesions in endoscopic images based on the YOLOv5l model by using deep learning method of artificial intelligence to improve the diagnosis of early ESCC and precancerous lesions under endoscopy. Methods: 13, 009 endoscopic esophageal images of white light imaging (WLI), narrow band imaging (NBI) and lugol chromoendoscopy (LCE) were collected from June 2019 to July 2021 from 1, 126 patients at the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, including low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, ESCC limited to the mucosal layer, benign esophageal lesions and normal esophagus. By computerized random function method, the images were divided into a training set (11, 547 images from 1, 025 patients) and a validation set (1, 462 images from 101 patients). The YOLOv5l model was trained and constructed with the training set, and the model was validated with the validation set, while the validation set was diagnosed by two senior and two junior endoscopists, respectively, to compare the diagnostic results of YOLOv5l model and those of the endoscopists. Results: In the validation set, the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of the YOLOv5l model in diagnosing early ESCC and precancerous lesions in the WLI, NBI and LCE modes were 96.9%, 87.9%, 98.3%, 88.8%, 98.1%, and 98.6%, 89.3%, 99.5%, 94.4%, 98.2%, and 93.0%, 77.5%, 98.0%, 92.6%, 93.1%, respectively. The accuracy in the NBI model was higher than that in the WLI model (P<0.05) and lower than that in the LCE model (P<0.05). The diagnostic accuracies of YOLOv5l model in the WLI, NBI and LCE modes for the early ESCC and precancerous lesions were similar to those of the 2 senior endoscopists (96.9%, 98.8%, 94.3%, and 97.5%, 99.6%, 91.9%, respectively; P>0.05), but significantly higher than those of the 2 junior endoscopists (84.7%, 92.9%, 81.6% and 88.3%, 91.9%, 81.2%, respectively; P<0.05). Conclusion: The constructed YOLOv5l model has high accuracy in diagnosing early ESCC and precancerous lesions in endoscopic WLI, NBI and LCE modes, which can assist junior endoscopists to improve diagnosis and reduce missed diagnoses.

Abstract
BACKGROUND While immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) were approved for head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs), the response rate remains relatively low. Mechanisms underlying ICI unresponsiveness versus sensitivity are not fully understood. METHOD To better delineate differential responses to ICI treatment, we employed mouse SCC models, termed KPPA tumors that were caused by deleting p53 and hyperactivating PIK3CA, two most frequently mutated genes in human HNSCCs. We transplanted two KPPA tumor lines (TAb2 versus TCh3) into C57BL/6 recipients and examined the immune tumor microenvironment using flow cytometry. Furthermore, we employed single-cell RNA sequencing to identify the difference in tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). RESULTS We found that different KPPA tumors exhibited heterogeneous immune profiles pre-existing treatment that dictated their sensitivity or unresponsiveness to anti-PD-L1. Unresponsive TAb2 tumors were highly enriched with functional tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), especially M2-TAMs. In contrast, sensitive TCh3 tumors contained more CD8 TILs with better effector functions. TAb2 tumor cells drastically expanded F4/80+ TAMs from bone marrow precursors, requiring CSF1 and VEGF. Consistently, a higher combined expression of VEGF-C and CSF1 predicts worse survival in PIK3CAAmp/TP53Mutated HNSCC patients. Unresponsive TAb2 tumors upregulated distinct signaling pathways that correlate with aggressive tumor phenotypes. While anti-PD-L1 did not affect the TME of TAb2 tumors, it significantly increased the number of CD8 TILs in TCh3 tumors. CONCLUSIONS We uncovered tumor-intrinsic differences that may underlie the differential responses to ICI by establishing and employing two SCC tumor lines, TAb2 vs. TCh3, both of which harbor TP53 deletion and PIK3CA hyperactivation. Our study indicates the limitation of stratifying cancers according to their genetic alterations and suggests that evaluating HNSCC tumor-intrinsic cues along with immune profiles in the TME may help better predict ICI responses. Our experimental models may provide a platform for pinpointing tumor-intrinsic differences underlying an immunosuppressive TME in HNSCCs and for testing combined immunotherapies targeting either tumor-specific or TAM-specific players to improve ICI efficacy.

Abstract
PURPOSE Recent studies reported therapeutic effects of Smad7 on oral mucositis in mice without compromising radiation therapy-induced cancer cell killing in neighboring oral cancer. This study aims to assess whether a Smad7-based biologic can treat oral mucositis in a clinically relevant setting by establishing an oral mucositis model in dogs and analyzing molecular targets. METHODS AND MATERIALS We created a truncated human Smad7 protein fused with the cell-penetrating Tat tag (Tat-PYC-Smad7). We used intensity modulated radiation therapy to induce oral mucositis in dogs and applied Tat-PYC-Smad7 to the oral mucosa in dose-finding studies after intensity modulated radiation therapy. Clinical outcomes were evaluated. Molecular targets were analyzed in biopsies and serum samples. RESULTS Tat-PYC-Smad7 treatment significantly shortened the duration of grade 3 oral mucositis based on double-blinded Veterinary Radiation Therapy Oncology Group scores and histopathology evaluations. Topically applied Tat-PYC-Smad7 primarily penetrated epithelial cells and was undetectable in serum. NanoString nCounter Canine IO Panel identified that, compared to the vehicle samples, top molecular changes in Tat-PYC-Smad7 treated samples include reductions in inflammation and cell death and increases in cell growth and DNA repair. Consistently, immunostaining shows that Tat-PYC-Smad7 reduced DNA damage and neutrophil infiltration with attenuated TGF-β and NFκB signaling. Furthermore, IL-1β and TNF-α were lower in Tat-PYC-Smad7 treated mucosa and serum samples compared to those in vehicle controls. CONCLUSIONS Topical Tat-PYC-Smad7 application demonstrated therapeutic effects on oral mucositis induced by intensity modulated radiation therapy in dogs. The local effects of Tat-PYC-Smad7 targeted molecules involved in oral mucositis pathogenesis as well as reduced systemic inflammatory cytokines.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease (RP-ILD) is a major complication of anti-melanoma differentiation-associated protein 5 antibody positive dermatomyositis (anti-MDA5+DM) with a high mortality rate. The aim of the study is to determine whether serum Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6) could be a prognostic biomarker to predict RP-ILD and prognosis in anti-MDA5+DM patients. METHODS A total of 21 anti-MDA5+DM patients with RP-ILD and 20 anti-MDA5+DM patients without RP-ILD were retrospectively included in this study. Serum KL-6 concentration (pg/mL) was measured using the latex agglutination test. RESULTS Serum KL-6 level was higher in RP-ILD patients than those in non-RR-ILD patients (1195.61±872.93 vs. 452.6±465.51 pg/mL, p=0.002). The best cut-off value of KL-6 serum level was 500.9 pg/mL using ROC curve (AUC area = 0.7976, p=0.0011). KL-6 >500.9 pg/mL was an independent risk factor for RP-ILD using multivariate analysis (OR=56.38, 95% CI 5.51-577.504, p=0.001). Serum KL-6 concentrations were significantly higher in dead patients than those in the survivor group (1209.34±840.55 vs. 592.41±667.76, p=0.0033), and higher KL-6 concentration was also an independent risk factor for all-cause death after adjusting confounders (OR = 21.94, 95% CI 3.3-145.73, p=0.001). Anti-MDA5+DM patients with higher KL-6 level displayed a significantly decreased one-year survival rate, as compared with lower KL-6 level (36.36% vs. 89.47%, p=0.0008). CONCLUSIONS The serum KL-6 levels reflect severity of lung injury and serve as a clinically useful biomarker in detection and monitoring RP-ILD progression in anti-MDA5+DM patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE Neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE) is the main cause of disability and death in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It can cause cognitive impairment and organic brain syndrome. Brain-reactive antibodies, such as anti-DNA/anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antibodies (DNRAbs), anti-microtubule-associated protein 2 (anti-MAP2) antibodies, and anti-glial fibrillary acidic protein (anti-GFAP) antibodies are thought to participate in the progression of NPSLE and thus considered potential diagnostic biomarkers, but whether they can be used for evaluating therapeutic efficacy in NPSLE is unknown. PATIENTS AND METHODS Overall, 17 NPSLE patients and 10 non-SLE controls were included in this study. All the patients were treated with glucocorticoid (GC) pulse therapy. Serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) concentrations of DNRAbs and anti-MAP2 and anti-GFAP antibodies were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The differences between the CSF concentrations of these antibodies in NPSLE patients before and after GC pulse therapy were analyzed. RESULTS CSF concentrations of DNRAbs and anti-MAP2 and anti-GFAP antibodies were significantly higher in NPSLE patients compared to the non-SLE controls. Among the patients, CSF concentration of DNRAbs was significantly higher in the patients with acute confusional state (ACS) than in those with non-ACS diffuse NPSLE or focal NPSLE. Additionally, CSF concentration of DNRAbs was significantly correlated with QIgG (r=0.4884, P=0.0467) and IgG index (r=0.5319, P=0.0280) in NPSLE patients. Moreover, CSF concentrations of DNRAbs, anti-MAP2, and anti-GFAP antibodies and QIgG were significantly decreased after GC pulse therapy in NPSLE patients. CONCLUSION These results indicate that CSF DNRAbs and anti-MAP2 and anti-GFAP antibodies are potential biomarkers for evaluating therapeutic efficacy in NPSLE.

Abstract
A search for lepton-flavor-violating Z→eτ and Z→μτ decays with pp collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented. This analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of Run 2 pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV and is combined with the results of a similar ATLAS search in the final state in which the τ lepton decays hadronically, using the same data set as well as Run 1 data. The addition of leptonically decaying τ leptons significantly improves the sensitivity reach for Z→ℓτ decays. The Z→ℓτ branching fractions are constrained in this analysis to B(Z→eτ)<7.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<7.2×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level. The combination with the previously published analyses sets the strongest constraints to date: B(Z→eτ)<5.0×10^{-6} and B(Z→μτ)<6.5×10^{-6} at 95% confidence level.

Low Expression of SLC7A11 Confers Drug Resistance and Worse Survival in Ovarian Cancer via Inhibition of Cell Autophagy as a Competing Endogenous RNA. Front Oncol 2021; 11:744940. Abstract
Drug resistance is the main cause of chemotherapy failure in ovarian cancer (OC), and identifying potential druggable targets of autophagy is a novel and promising approach to overcoming drug resistance. In this study, 131 genes associated with autophagy were identified from three autophagy-related databases, and of these, 14 were differentially expressed in 90 drug-resistant OC tissues versus 197 sensitive tissues according to the Cancer Genome Atlas ovarian cancer cohort. Among these 14 genes, SLC7A11 was significantly decreased in two paclitaxel-resistant OC cells (HeyA8-R and SKOV3-R) and in 90 drug-resistant tissues compared with their controls. In vitro overexpression of SLC7A11 significantly increased the sensitivity of HeyA8-R cells to paclitaxel, inhibited colony formation, induced apoptosis, and arrested cell cycle. Further, low SLC7A11 expression was correlated with poor overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and post-progression survival (PPS) in 1815 OC patients. Mechanistically, SLC7A11 strongly regulated cell autophagy as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) based on pan-cancer analyses of 32 tumor types. Specifically, as a ceRNA for autophagy genes STX17, RAB33B, and UVRAG, SLC7A11 was strongly and positively co-expressed with these three genes in 20, 12, and 12 different tumors, respectively, in 379 OC tissues and in 90 drug-resistant OC tissues, and the former two were significantly upregulated in SLC7A11-overexpressed HeyA8-R cells. Further, SLC7A11 induced the protein expression of other autophagy genes, such as LC3, Atg16L1, and Atg7, and the expression of the respective proteins was further increased when the cells were treated with paclitaxel. The results strongly suggest that SLC7A11 regulates autophagy via ceRNA interactions with the three abovementioned genes in pan-cancer and in drug-resistant OC. Moreover, low expression of STX17 and UVRAG also significantly predicted low OS, PFS, and PPS. The combination of SLC7A11 with STX17 was more predictive of OS and PFS than either individually, and the combination of SLC7A11 with UVRAG was highly predictive of OS and PPS. The above results indicated that decreased SLC7A11 resulted in drug resistance and effected low rates of survival in OC patients, probably via ceRNA interactions with autophagy genes, and thus the gene could serve as a therapeutic target and potential biomarker in OC.

Abstract
A search for new phenomena is presented in final states with two leptons and one or no b-tagged jets. The event selection requires the two leptons to have opposite charge, the same flavor (electrons or muons), and a large invariant mass. The analysis is based on the full run-2 proton-proton collision dataset recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1}. No significant deviation from the expected background is observed in the data. Inspired by the B-meson decay anomalies, a four-fermion contact interaction between two quarks (b, s) and two leptons (ee or μμ) is used as a benchmark signal model, which is characterized by the energy scale and coupling, Λ and g_{*}, respectively. Contact interactions with Λ/g_{*} lower than 2.0 (2.4) TeV are excluded for electrons (muons) at the 95% confidence level, still far below the value that is favored by the B-meson decay anomalies. Model-independent limits are set as a function of the minimum dilepton invariant mass, which allow the results to be reinterpreted in various signal scenarios.

Objective: To determine the potential risk factors of delayed hemorrhage after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in patients with early gastric carcinomas or precancerous lesions. Methods: The clinical data of 637 patients with early gastric carcinomas (EGC) who treated with ESD in Department of Endoscopy at Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, from August 2013 to August 2019, were retrospectively analyzed. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic analysis were conducted to evaluate the risk factors associated with delayed bleeding. Results: A total of 699 lesions in 637 patients, of which 696 lesions were resected enbloc, the curative resection rate was 92.1% (644/699). The pathological diagnosis after ESD showed that 46 cases were low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, 71 were high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, and 582 were cancer. Delayed bleeding occurred in 74 lesions, while other 625 lesions without postoperative bleeding. The incidence was 10.6%. Compared with the non-bleeding group, there were statistically significant differences in the maximum length of the lesion, the gross shape of the lesion, the control of intra operative bleeding, and the operation time in the delayed bleeding group (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the maximum length of the lesion and the gross shape of the lesion were independent factors of delayed bleeding after ESD. Delayed bleeding was inclined to occur in patients with lesion size ≥3.0 cm (OR=1.958, 95% CI: 1.162-3.299) and the superficial and flat lesion (OR=10.598, 95% CI: 1.313-85.532) after ESD. Conclusions: The maximum length of the lesion and the gross shape of the lesion are independent impact factors of delayed bleeding occurring in patients with EGC and precancerous lesions after ESD. Patients with lesion size≥3 cm, or superficial flat lesion should be paid attention after ESD operation. It needs to take timely measures to prevent the very likely bleeding in order to ensure postoperative recovery and improve the quality of life for postoperative patients.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the correlations of laminin subunit gamma 3 (LAMC3) expression with prognosis of ovarian cancer (OC). Methods: LAMC3 protein expression was measured using immunohistochemical streptavidin-peroxidase-biotin connection method (IHC). Gene expression and related clinical data in the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) cohort and clinical proteomic tumor analysis consortium (CPTAC) were applied to analyse the correlation between gene and protein expressions and clinical outcomes. Correlations between LAMC3 and clinicopathological factors were evaluated using the Pearson χ2 test (2-sided). The probability of survival and significance was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier plot. The functional clustering of biological pathways enriched from co-expressed genes of LAMC3 was used to explore the possible mechanisms that LAMC3 might contribute to poor prognosis. Results: Based on the IHC results of 216 OC tissues or ovaries (including 208 tumors and 8 normal tissues) and 51 OC tissues (including 24 chemotherapy-resistant and 27 sensitive tissues), and the protein expression data from CPTAC (including 100 primary tumors and 25 normal tissues), the results showed that the protein expression of LAMC3 was significantly decreased in OC tissues compared with normal, decreased in advanced-stage tissues compared with early-stage tissues, and decreased in drug-resistant tissues compared with sensitive tissues (all P<0.05). Furthermore, low expression of LAMC3 protein was significantly associated with poor disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in 51 OC tissues (P<0.01), consistent with the results that the low levels of LAMC3 mRNA predicted short DFS and OS in 489 OC tissues of the TCGA cohort (P<0.05). The results suggested that low expression of LAMC3 might be the adverse factors for OC development, such as drug resistance and advanced tumors, and might be a risk indicator for prognosis. Moreover, functional clustering of biological pathways enriched from the co-expressed genes of LAMC3 in TCGA ovarian cohort indicated that LAMC3 potentially involved in regulation of OC via oncogene-pathways such as Ras associated protein 1 (Rap1), mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), Ras and cell adhesion-related pathways such as extra cellular matrix (ECM)-receptor interaction and focal adhesion. It indicated that LAMC3 might contribute to short survival and tumor progression by regulation of the above pathways. Conclusion: Low expression of LAMC3 is related to poor prognosis and malignant progression in OC, and thus it is expected to be a new prognostic marker and therapeutic target for clinical treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To discuss the efficacy and safety of endoscopic papillectomy of major duodenal papilla neoplasms. Methods: The clinical-pathological data of 21 patients who were admitted to the Department of Endoscopy, Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and underwent endoscopic papillectomy of major duodenal papilla neoplasms from January 2014 to January 2020 were retrospectively studied, their postoperative outcomes and complication were also analyzed. Results: Tweenty-one patients were successfully performed endoscopic papillectomy of major duodenal papilla neoplasms. The resected lesions varied between 0.5-2.8 cm. Completed lesion was resected in 19 cases and lesion blocks in 2 cases. The incidence of postoperative complication was 52.4% (11/21), including 8 cases of postoperative bleeding (38.1%). Five patients stopped bleeding after endoscopic hemostasis and 3 patients stopped after interventional embolization. Two patients experienced perforation (9.5%) and recovered after conservative treatment including anti-inflammatory treatment and abdominal drainage. Five patients had pancreatitis (23.8%) and recovered after treatment with pre-somatostatin and anti-inflammatory rectal suppository. Preoperative pathological results of 21 patients suggested that 11 were high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and 8 were low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, and 2 were chronic inflammation. Postoperative pathological results suggested that 4 were adenocarcinoma, and the rest 17 were adenoma. The coincidence rate of preoperative biopsy results and postoperative pathology was 38.1%(8/21), and underestimate of the pathological stage occurred in 11 patients (52.4%) during the preoperative biopsy, overestimate occurred in two patients (9.5%). Four cases had a positive incisal margin. All patients had good prognoses and no death event occurred during the follow-up period. Conclusions: Early-stage major duodenal papilla neoplasms should be treated with aggressive resection. Endoscopic papillectomy of duodenal papilla neoplasms is safe, effective, and can be recommended as the preferred procedure for major duodenal papilla neoplasms.

Abstract
China is a country with high incidence of esophageal cancer. Advanced esophageal cancer not only brings serious threat to the health of patients, but also brings heavy economic burden to their families and society. Early diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer are always the hot spot in clinical research, and gastroscopy screening is the key point. The development of artificial intelligence is expected to provide new mean for early diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer in the aspects of endoscopy procedure and quality control.Through a brief overview of the concept and development of artificial intelligence in endoscopic diagnosis of superficial esophageal cancer, this study summarizes and reviews the research progress of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of superficial esophageal carcinoma, and illustrates the importance of its application. This study also discusses the main problems and difficulties of artificial intelligence in the endoscopic diagnosis of esophageal carcinoma. It prospects the application of artificial intelligence in endoscopic esophageal diagnosis in the future.

Abstract
Background There is heterogeneity in the clinical manifestations and responses to drugs in RA patients due to variety of factors such as genes and environment. Despite advances in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), approximately 40% of RA patients still do not achieve primary clinical outcomes in randomized trials, and its low remission rate and high economic consumption remain unresolved, especially in developing countries. Iguratimod (IGU) is a new disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) with a low price that has demonstrated good efficacy and safety in clinical trials and was approved for active RA in China and Japan. As the most populous country in the Western Pacific region, it is warranted to conduct a study with a large scale of patients in a real-life setting. Our study confirms the new option for RA patients, which is potentially benificial for public health in developing countries. Methods This was a nationwide, prospective real-world study of IGU. Eligible subjects were active adult RA patients who aged 18 to 85 with or without multiple comorbidities such as hypertension and diabetes with DMARDs at a stable dosage for at least 12 weeks, or without ongoing DMARDs. A two-stage design was used for this study. In the first stage (the first 12 weeks), IGU 25 mg bid was added as monotherapy or to the background therapy, and in the second stage (the latter 12 weeks), adjustment of RA medicines other than IGU was allowed according to the participants’ disease activity. The primary endpoints were American College of Rheumatology 20% response (ACR20) 24 weeks and adverse events during 24 weeks. The secondary endpoints were ACR50 and ACR70 over 24 weeks, the changes of DAS28 and Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) at week 12 and week 24 from baseline. The trial was registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT01554917. Findings Between March 2012 and January 2015, 1759 participants were enrolled, of whom 81•5% (1433/1759) completed the study. Notably, 1597 patients in the full analysis set were assessed for the effectiveness and 1751 patients were in the safety analysis set; 71•9% (1148/1597) of the patients achieved the primary endpoint of ACR20 response at week 24, and 51•7% (906/1751) patients had at least 1 adverse event (AE). The incidence of the clinical significant AE (grade≥3) of special interest was 3•4% (54 patients for grade 3 and 6 patients for grade 4), and 0•7% (13/1751) of patients developed SAEs associated with IGU. The most common clinical significant AEs were infection in 0•6% (10/1751) of the patients, abdominal discomfort in 0•5% (9/1751) of the patients including 0•2% (3/1751) gastric ulcer, fracture in 0•4% (7/1751), and increased alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in 0•2% (3/1751) of the patients. The secondary endpoint of ACR50 and ACR70 response rates at week 24 were 47•4% (757/1597) and 24•0% (384/1597). DAS28 was 4•11±1•27 and 3•75±1•32 at week 12 and 24, which was significantly decreased -1•40±1•10 and -1•75±1•26 compared with baseline (P<0•001) respectively. Changes in HAQ at week 12 and 24 from baseline were -7•4 ± 9•18 and -8•5 ± 9•97, respectively (all P<0•001). Stratified analysis results showed that the patients with shorter disease duration, male gender had better response to IGU. There was no significant difference in ACR20/50/70 responses between elderly patients(≥65 years) and younger patients(<65 years), IGU monotherapy or combined with other DMARDs. However, more fractures (1•1% vs 0•5%; P = 0•64) and infections (8•7% vs 7•9%; P = 0•69) were observed in elderly patients in our study. Interpretation Our results confirmed the effectiveness and safety of IGU as a new DMARD for active patients with RA as monotherapy or combination therapy. [Clinicopathological features of the colorectal serrated adenoma and analysis on influencing factors of malignancy]. Abstract
Objective: Serrated adenoma is recognized as a precancerous lesion of colorectal cancer, and the serrated pathway is considered as an important pathway that can independently develop into colorectal cancer. However, little is known about the related risk factors of carcinogenesis of serrated adenoma. The purpose of this study was to analyze the distribution characteristics and potential malignant factors of serrated adenoma in the colon and rectum. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted to collect the clinical data of patients with serrated adenoma who underwent colonoscopy and were pathologically diagnosed in the Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from April 2017 to July 2019, and exclude patients with two or more pathological types of lesions. The clinical characteristics of serrated adenoma were summarized, and univariate and logistic multivariate regression analysis was conducted to explore the influencing factors for serrated adenoma to develop malignant transformation. Results: Among 28 730 patients undergoing colonoscopy, 311 (1.08%) were found with 372 serrated adenomas, among which 22 (5.9%) were sessile serrated adenomas/polyps, 84 (22.6%) were traditional serrated adenomas, and 266 (71.5%) were unclassified serrated adenomas according to WHO classification. The pathological results showed that 106 (28.5%) lesions were non-dysplasia, 228 (61.3%) lesions were low grade intraepithelial neoplasia, and 38 (10.2%) lesions were high grade intraepithelial neoplasia or cancer. There were 204 (54.8%) lesions with long-axis diameter <10 mm and 168 (45.2%) lesions with length long-axis ≥ 10 mm. 238 (64.0%) lesions were found in the left side colon and rectum and 134 (36.0%) lesions in the right side colon. Gross classification under endoscopy: 16 flat type lesions (4.3%), 174 sessile lesions (46.8%), 117 semi-pedunculated lesions (31.5%), 59 pedunculated lesions (15.9%). Narrow-band imaging international colorectal endoscopic (NICE) classification: 85 (22.8%) type I lesions, 280 (75.3%) type II lesions, 4 (1.1%) type III lesions. Univariate analysis showed that lesion size, lesion location, lesion site and different WHO classifications were associated with malignant transformation of colorectal serrated adenoma (all P<0.05). For the serrated adenomas with different NICE classifications, there were statistically significant differences in the distribution of malignant lesions among groups (P=0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that the long-axis diameter of the lesion ≥10 mm (OR=6.699, 95% CI: 2.843-15.786) and the lesion locating in the left side colorectum (OR=2.657, 95% CI: 1.042-6.775) were independent risk factors for malignant transformation. Conclusions: Serrated adenomas mainly locate in the left side colon and rectum, and are prone to malignant transformation when the lesions are ≥10 mm in long-axis diameter or left-sided.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a potentially life-threatening autoimmune bullous disease affecting the skin and mucous membranes. Its pathogenic mechanism is still not fully understood. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) have been reported to play a significant role in regulating immune homeostasis in autoimmune disorders, such as PV. AIM To investigate the potential role of Tregs in the immunopathogenesis of PV. METHODS We enrolled 15 patients with PV and 15 healthy controls (HCs). Peripheral blood samples were collected from all participants before treatment. This was followed by flow cytometric, real-time reverse transcription PCR, and in vitro inhibition-based functional assays to explore the immunopathogenesis of Tregs in PV. RESULTS Our results showed no statistically significant differences in total CD4+CD25+ cells and CD4+CD25high cells. In addition, expression levels of FOXP3 mRNA and the corresponding FOXP3 protein remained unchanged in the patients with PV and the HCs. However, the in vitro suppressive activity of CD4+CD25+ T cells was impaired in patients with PV compared with HCs. CONCLUSIONS Our observations suggest that inhibition of suppressive activity of Treg cells may be involved in the pathogenesis of PV.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the short and long-term outcomes of endoscopic piecemeal mucosal resection including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and multiband mucosectomy (MBM) for superficial esophageal carcinoma and precancerous lesions, and analyze the risk factors for prognosis. Methods: From March 1 2001 to May 31 2017, 371 patients with 416 lesions who were diagnosed as superficial esophageal carcinoma or high-grade intraepithelial neoplasm and underwent EMR or MBM were retrospectively enrolled in this study. Long-term recurrence free survival (RFS) rate and the risk factors, including submucosal invasion, poorly differentiation, vascular invasion and positive vertical margin, for the long-term outcome were also analyzed. Results: The incidence of complication was 17.1% in the EMR group and 17.4% in the MBM group, without significant difference (P=1.000). The median follow-up period was 70.6 months. The 5-years RFS was 93.9% and 10-years RFS was 87.8%, respectively. Local recurrence was found in 2 cases in each group and they were curatively treated by endoscopic submucosal dissection. Heterogeneous multiple primary esophageal cancer was diagnosed in 5 and 3 cases for the EMR and MBM group, of whom 5 cases were curatively treated with endoscopic resection. Other 3 cases were diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer, of whom 2 patients died. Lymph node metastasis (LNM) was found in 5 cases in the EMR group and 4 cases in the MBM group, of whom 6 patients died. Distant metastasis was found in 5 cases in the EMR group and 3 cases in the MBM group, of whom 5 patients died. There were 83 patients combined with risk factors including submucosal invasion, poorly differentiation, vascular invasion and positive vertical margin, of whom 8 patients were diagnosed as LNM and 8 patients as distant metastasis. The 5-years RFS of patients with 1, 2, and 3 risk factors were 93.6%, 82.2%, and 25.0%, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). Conclusions: EMR and MBM are both safe and feasible procedures for superficial esophageal carcinoma and precancerous lesions. Additional treatments should be selected according to the variety of risk factors to acquire better long-term outcome and life quality.
