Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and periodontitis are common chronic diseases. The presence of either of the two diseases increases the risk of the other, whereas managing one reduces the risk of the other. This study aimed to summarize the current state of research and trends in this field using bibliometric analysis and visualization. MATERIAL AND METHODS We used PubMed to search and download all periodontal disease- and COPD-related studies published until August 20, 2023. We further performed bibliometric analysis on the text R and Python software and visualized the results using Gephi and VOSviewer to construct latent Dirichlet allocation models that summarize idiosyncratic research themes. RESULTS A total of 2, 109 publications were analyzed, with recent ones focusing on risk factors and pandemics. The country that produced the most publications was the United States with 427 publications. The most cited article was by Prof. Wang Zuomin. International Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ranked first in publications. Keywords were focused on Risk Factors and Pandemics. In addition, COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 and coronavirus infections have become a research hotspot since 2020. However, little attention has been paid to environmental contamination and biological mechanisms. CONCLUSIONS Research on periodontitis and COPD is expanding, and it currently focused on exploring risk factors and conducting clinical epidemiological studies. This exhaustive study provides a comprehensive summary of trends in this field and has important clinical implications for the screening and treatment of patients with COPD and periodontitis.

Abstract
Cold resistance in fruit trees has a direct impact on food production and scientific studies. 'Donghe No.1' is an excellent cold-tolerant peach variety. Metabolomic changes under freezing stress were examined to understand the mechanisms of cold adaptation. The UPLC-MS/MS system was used to identify differentially expressed metabolites (DEMs) in branches of 'Donghe No.1' under freezing stress for 12 h at -5°C, -20°C, -25°C, or -30°C. In total, 1096 metabolites and 196 DEMs were obtained at -5°C vs -20°C, -25°C, and - 30°C, while 179 DEMs and eight shared DEMs obtained at -5°C vs -20°C, -20°C vs -25°C, and -25°C vs -30°C. KEGG enrichment identified 196 DEMs associated with amino acid metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism, alpha-linolenic acid metabolism, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, and flavonoid biosynthesis under freezing stress. A metabolic network in 1-year-old peach branches under freezing stress is proposed. Moreover, these results enhance understanding of metabolite responses and mechanisms to freezing stress in peach and will help in future breeding of freezing-tolerant varieties and investigating tolerance mechanisms.

Abstract
Although elderly osteoporotic patients have similar implant survival rates compared with those of normal individuals, they require longer healing periods to achieve proper osseointegration. This may be related to chronic inflammatory responses and impaired stem cell repair functions in the osteoporotic bone microenvironment. Recently, the deubiquitinating enzyme, ubiquitin-specific peptidase 7 (USP7), was found to regulate the macrophage immune response and modulate stem cell osteogenic differentiation. The selective inhibitor of USP7, P5091, has also been found to promote bone repair and homeostasis in osteoporotic conditions. However, the roles of USP7 and P5091 in osteoimmunology and dental implant osseointegration under senile osteoporotic conditions remain unclear. In this study, USP7 depletion and P5091 were shown to inhibit inflammation in senescent bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) and promote osteogenic differentiation in aged bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BMSCs). Furthermore, mRNA-Seq revealed that USP7 depletion could enhance efferocytosis in senescent BMDMs through the EPSIN1/low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP1) pathway and selectively induce apoptosis (senolysis) in aged BMSCs. In senile osteoporotic mice, we found that the osseointegration period was prolonged compared with young mice, and P5091 promoted the early stage of osseointegration, which may be related to macrophage efferocytosis around the implant. Collectively, this study suggests that USP7 inhibition may accelerate the osseointegration process in senile osteoporotic conditions by promoting macrophage efferocytosis and aged BMSCs apoptosis. This has implications for understanding the cellular interactions and signaling mechanisms in the peri-implant bone microenvironment under osteoporotic conditions. It may also provide clinical significance in developing new therapies to enhance osseointegration quality and shorten the edentulous period in elderly osteoporotic patients.

Abstract
Objective: To establish a structural equation model of lower back pain and its risk factors in occupational population in China based on a large-sample occupational epidemiological survey and structural equation analysis, so as to lay the foundation for the prevention of this disease. Methods: A total of 73497 occupational epidemiological cases were selected from June 2018 to December 2023 using the Chinese version of the Musculoskeletal Disorders Electronic Questionnaire. The results were analyzed using ergonomic hazard factors and their risk source classification criteria. Confirmatory factor analysis was then applied to extract individual factors, work organization, working postures, work types, muscle fatigue, and lower back pain. These factors were subsequently classified into six categories and structural equation model was established. Results: The main structural reliability and validity indexes of the structural equation model of lower back pain and its adverse ergonomic factors after adjustment were basically up to standard[goodness of fit index (GFI) was 0.956, the adjusted goodness of fit index (AGFI) was 0.944, the root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) was 0.043, the normed fit index (NFI) was 0.922, the comparative fit index (CFI) was 0.923, and the Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) was 0.908], and the model fit was good. There were correlations among four exogenous latent variables: individual factors, work organization, working postures and work types. Among them, individual factors had a weak negative correlation with the three exogenous potential variables of work organization, working postures and work types (r=-0.30, -0.11, -0.18), and work organization had a moderate positive correlation with working postures and work types (r=0.49, 0.55). There was a strong positive correlation between work types and working postures (r=0.72). The direct path coefficients of individual factors, working postures and muscle fatigue were 0.07, 0.11 and 0.40, respectively. The direct path coefficients of work types were -0.07. There was an indirect path mediated by muscle fatigue between work types, working postures and work organization and lower back pain, and the indirect path coefficients were: work types-muscle fatigue-lower back pain (0.15), working postures-muscle fatigue-lower back pain (-0.04) and work organization-muscle fatigue-lower back pain (0.27) . Conclusion: When carrying out the prevention and control of lower back pain, the pathogenesis of lower back pain induced by workers' muscle fatigue caused by work organization, working postures, and work types factors should be comprehensively considered, so as to provide a theoretical reference for improving the prevention and control level of lower back pain.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the distribution characteristics of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) among the occupational population in China's key industries during the period from 2018 to 2023, and to provide data support for the formulation of targeted prevention strategies. Methods: Between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2023, a cross-sectional epidemiological survey and a retrospective investigation were conducted in seven geographical regions of North China, East China, Central China, South China, Southwest China, Northwest China, and Northeast China, using a combination of epidemiological cross-sectional and retrospective surveys. The industries were stratified according to the degree of closeness to WMSDs, the size of the occupational population, and the importance of the national economy, and then cluster sampling was conducted according to the size of the enterprises (large, medium, and small) within each stratum. Representative enterprises were selected, and workers who had been employed for more than one year and met the inclusion criteria were selected as the study subjects. The survey subjects completed the Chinese version of the Musculoskeletal Disorders Survey Questionnaire online by scanning a QR code. A total of 88, 609 valid questionnaires were collected. Continuous data were described by means and standard deviations, and the standardized incidence rates of WMSDs were evaluated using chi-square tests to compare the standardized incidence rates of different body parts. Results: The standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs among the frontline working population in China was 36.7%, with the top three being the neck (21.37%), shoulders (18.23%), and lower back (14.92%). There was a statistically significant difference in the standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs between different body parts (χ(2)=47577.82, P<0.05). The lowest standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs was found in the southeast coastal region of China (32.54%), while the highest was in the northwest (49.70%) and northeast regions (46.16%). The standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs decreased from 42.88% in 2018 to 29.94% in 2023. The micro-enterprise observation group had a higher concentration of WMSDs in the neck (20.66%), lower back (17.95%), and shoulders (17.79%), while the large enterprise observation group had a higher concentration in the neck (20.54%), shoulders (17.52%), and lower back (14.65%). Among the industries surveyed, the highest standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs was found in the healthcare industry (53.18%), followed by the toy manufacturing industry (50.54%), the automotive manufacturing industry (43.39%), general aviation services (42.71%), and the ship and related equipment manufacturing industry (40.56%). The standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs among women was significantly higher than that of men (OR value=1.44, P<0.05). In addition, the standardized prevalence rate of WMSDs with multiple affected body parts (four or more body parts affected simultaneously) was higher, and the risk of WMSDs increased with subjective fatigue, showing a significant "S-shaped" trend (the OR value was 2.19, 3.16, 4.71, 5.49, and 3.97 when the RPE was 13, 15, 17, 19, and 20, respectively. χ(2)(trend)=17.23, P<0.001) . Conclusion: The distribution characteristics of WMSDs in key industries in China show obvious differences in different parts, regions, time, enterprise scale, industry and population attributes. Agriculture, pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging and decoration and other printing industries have a high proportion of WMSDs in multiple parts at the same time and in a single site. It is necessary to study and implement precise preventive measures according to specific regions, industries and enterprise scales, as well as the characteristics of multi-site WMSDs, so as to effectively protect the health and well-being of the working population.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the occupational contact characteristics of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) among key occupational groups in China, assess the impact of occupational factors on the occurrence of WMSDs, and propose corresponding preventive strategies. Methods: Between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2023, a cross-sectional epidemiological survey method was employed to retrospectively investigate the occurrence of WMSDs and related occupational factors. Valid questionnaire data from 88609 on-the-job workers in 441 enterprises across 29 industries or job types in seven regions of China were collected, and the relationship between WMSDs and various occupational factors was discussed using multifactorial logistic regression analysis. Odds ratios (OR) and their 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated to assess the impact of different factors on the risk of WMSDs occurrence, with all statistical tests performed as two-tailed tests, using P<0.05 as the criterion for statistical significance. Results: Among the surveyed subjects, 59989 were male, accounting for 67.7% (59989/88609) ; 28620 women, accounting for 32.3% (28620/88609). The standardized incidence rate of work related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in 9 parts of the body was statistically significant (P<0.05) among different working age groups without considering specific parts. The average length of service for onset of WMSDs (regardless of location) is (4.52±2.67) years, and there is a statistically significant difference in the length of service for onset of WMSDs in different locations (P<0.05). As the frequency of heavy object handling increases, the standardization rate and OR value of WMSDs in various parts show a significant increase trend. The incidence of WMSDs is significantly correlated with maintaining poor work posture for a long time, frequent repetitive operations, and heavy object handling (OR=1.52, 1.45, 1.63, P<0.01) . Conclusion: This study reveals that the risk of WMSDs in China's occupational population shows a non-linear change with increasing length of service, especially with a significant increase in 10 to 25 years of service. Poor work posture, frequent repetitive operations, and heavy object handling are significantly correlated with WMSDs, providing a scientific basis for developing more accurate and effective prevention strategies for WMSDs.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationships and impacts between various occupational ergonomic hazards and hand and wrist fatigue, as well as work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) of the hand and wrist, and to propose targeted preventive and intervention measures for adverse occupational ergonomic factors causing WMSDs of the hand and wrist. Methods: From 2018 to December 2023, a nationwide epidemiologic survey study of wrist WMSDs was conducted using the Chinese version of the electronic questionnaire system for musculoskeletal disorders.A total of 88, 609 valid questionnaires were collected. The exclusion criteria were as follows: patients with congenital spinal deformities, as well as those with wrist WMSDs caused by external injuries, infectious diseases, and malignant tumors. A total of 73, 497 questionnaires were finally included in the study analysis, with an effective questionnaire return rate of 82.5%. Exploratory factor analysis was used to analyze and summarize the factors affecting wrist WMSDs from the questionnaires, including individual factors, work organization, work type, wrist work posture, wrist fatigue, and wrist WMSDs as latent variables, and to hypothesize, fit, and validate the structural aspect model, as well as to conduct mediation effect analysis. Results: The incidence of WMSDs and fatigue in wrist was 12.19% and 16.30% respectively. The fitting indexes of the modified structural equation model were basically up to the standard (GFI was 0.981, AGFI was 0.973, RMSEA was 0.031, NFI was 0.863, IFI and CFI were 0.865). There is a correlation between individual factors, work organization, wrist working posture and work type. There was a low negative correlation between individual factors and other factors, and there was a positive correlation between work organization, work type and wrist WMSDs (r=0.346, 0.295), and these two factors were positively correlated with wrist fatigue height (r=0.862, 0.599), and were positively correlated with wrist working posture (r=0.443, 0.620). There was moderate positive correlation between wrist working posture and wrist fatigue (r=0.469). The three most influential factors on wrist WMSDs were work organization, individual factor and work type, and the path coefficients were 0.247, 0.210 and 0.136, respectively. The first two factors that have the greatest influence on wrist fatigue are work organization and work type, and the path coefficients are 0.758 and 0.188, respectively. Individual factors, work type, wrist working posture and work organization had direct effects on wrist WMSDs, and the effect values were 0.093, 0.253, 0.718 and 0.583, respectively. Wrist fatigue played a partial mediating role between individual factors, work type, wrist working posture and work organization and wrist WMSDs, with the indirect effect ratio of 25.6%, 45.8%, 3.2% and 65.5%. Conclusion: Wrist fatigue plays an important mediating role in the path of various factors affecting wrist WMSDs, especially in the path of work organization, work type, individual factors and wrist WMSDs. Poor wrist working posture is an important risk factor that directly affects the occurrence of wrist WMSDs.

R(3780) Resonance Interpreted as the 1^{3}D_{1}-Wave Dominant State of Charmonium from Precise Measurements of the Cross Section of e^{+}e^{-}→Hadrons. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 133:241902. [PMID: 39750337 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.133.241902] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 12/05/2023] [Revised: 10/24/2024] [Accepted: 10/31/2024] [Indexed: 01/04/2025]
Abstract
We report the precise measurements of the cross section of e^{+}e^{-}→hadrons at center-of-mass energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We thereby perform the most precise study of the cross sections and find a complex system composed of three resonances of R(3760), R(3780), and R(3810). For the first time, we measure the R(3810) electronic width to be (19.4±7.4±12.1) eV. For the R(3760) resonance, we measure the mass to be (3751.9±3.8±2.8) MeV/c^{2}, the total width to be (32.8±5.8±8.7) MeV, and the electronic width to be (184±75±86) eV. For the R(3780) resonance, we measure its mass to be (3778.7±0.5±0.3) MeV/c^{2}, total width to be (20.3±0.8±1.7) MeV, and electronic width to be (265±67±83) eV. Forty-seven years ago, the ψ(3770) resonance was discovered, and was subsequently interpreted as the 1^{3}D_{1}-wave dominant state of charmonium. However, our analysis of the total-hadron cross sections indicates that the ψ(3770) is not a single state, but a complex system composed of the R(3760), R(3780), and R(3810) resonances. Among these, we interpret the R(3780) is a resonance dominated by the 1^{3}D_{1} charmonium state.

Abstract
Objective: To study the correlation between myopia growth and physical development of primary school student in Shihezi area of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region by measuring the ocular biometry and physical parameters of the eye, and to provide an objective basis for the development of myopia prevention and control. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used. The Grade 1-6 students from 33 schools in Shihezi area were randomly selected in October 2023. The children were classified according to age into the low age group (6-9 years) and the high age group (10-13 years). The children's height, weight, axial length (AL), maximum keratometry (steepest keratometry, K1), and minimum keratometry (flattest keratometry, K1) were measured. The body mass index (BMI), keratometric astigmatism (ΔK), mean keratometry (K), corneal radius (CR) and AL/CR were calculated. Correlation analyses were performed between ocular biometry and physical parameters. LASSO regression analysis was used to screen the best variables, and linear regression models were constructed after adjusting for confounding factors of age and sex. Results: A total of 3 986 children aged 6-13 years were included in this study, including 2 094 boys (52.53%) and 1 892 girls (47.47%); 2 162 in the lower age group and 1 824 in the upper age group. Girls had higher K, ΔK and AL/CR values than boys (43.38 D vs 42.7 D, t=-7.84,P<0.01; 1.1 D vs 1.01 D, t=-2.14,P=0.03; 2.97 vs 2.96, t=3.32,P=0.02). Boys had higher AL, height, weight and BMI than girls (23.47 mm vs 23.02 mm, t=13.77,P<0.01; 1.34 m vs 1.33 m, t=3.02,P=0.03; 32 kg vs 29.5 kg, t=7.82,P<0.01; 17.4 vs 16.52, t=10.36, P<0.01). LASSO regression was used to screen the 3 physical parameter variables (height, weight, and BMI) to determine that height was the best physical parameter variable for AL/CR. After adjusting for confounders, it was shown that in the low age group (6-9 years), there was a significant positive correlation between children's height and AL/CR (b=0.174, 95%CI: 0.106 to 0.241, P<0.001), whereas in the high age group (10-13 years), there was no correlation between children's height and AL/CR (b=0.086, 95%CI:-0.038 to 0.21, P=0.174). Conclusion: There was a positive correlation between height and myopia growth in the lower age group of children in Shihezi area, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region; there was no correlation between height and myopia growth in the higher age group.

Search for CP violation in D 0 → K S 0 K S 0 decays in proton-proton collisions at s = 13 Te V. THE EUROPEAN PHYSICAL JOURNAL. C, PARTICLES AND FIELDS 2024; 84:1264. Abstract
A search is reported for charge-parity CP violation inD 0 → K S 0 K S 0 decays, using data collected in proton-proton collisions ats = 13 Te V recorded by the CMS experiment in 2018. The analysis uses a dedicated data set that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 41.6fb - 1 , which consists of about 10 billion events containing a pair of b hadrons, nearly all of which decay to charm hadrons. The flavor of the neutral D meson is determined by the pion charge in the reconstructed decaysD ∗ + → D 0 π + andD ∗ - → D ¯ 0 π - . The CP asymmetry inD 0 → K S 0 K S 0 is measured to beA CP ( K S 0 K S 0 ) = ( 6.2 ± 3.0 ± 0.2 ± 0.8 ) % , where the three uncertainties represent the statistical uncertainty, the systematic uncertainty, and the uncertainty in the measurement of the CP asymmetry in theD 0 → K S 0 π + π - decay. This is the first CP asymmetry measurement by CMS in the charm sector as well as the first to utilize a fully hadronic final state.

Investigation into the mechanical properties and impact tendency of coal-rock composite structures with peridynamics: A study on predicting the occurrence tendency of dynamic pressure in coal-rock structures. Abstract
Due to the difficulty in predicting the occurrence of rockburst in deep mining areas, this paper proposes that the use of Peridynamics to analyze the mechanical characteristics of coal-rock composite structures under loading conditions from the perspective of energy, Determine the impact tendency of coal rock composite structures by combining rock elastic deformation energy index (WET) and rock impact energy index (WCF); Use Lammps software to simulate the loading of composite structural materials and compare and verify with experimental results, to more accurately determine the tendency of rockburst occurrence in different coal-rock composite structures. The results indicate that after the specimen reaches the yield stress, the sample exhibits an "X" shaped failure. The coal body has a significant impact on the overall model's fragmentation, and different combination states and ratios can affect the degree of damage in the coal-rock composite structure. which has important theoretical value for rock mechanics research. The research results can reduce the occurrence of rockburst accidents, the difficulty of mine support, and the cost of mining engineering, as well as improve mine safety levels.

Abstract
AIM The impact of hypertension (HT) on phenotypic expression in individuals with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is unclear. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-six HCM individuals without HT, 27 HCM with HT, and 20 age- and sex-matched healthy controls who underwent cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) to evaluate left ventricular (LV) function and strain were enrolled. Three groups' LV function and strain were compared. We also investigated whether HT was associated with reduced LV strain in HCM patients using univariate and multivariate linear regression analyses. RESULTS HCM (with/without HT) patients had higher LV mass and LV mass index than the normal controls group. Furthermore, global radial strain, global circumferential strain (GCS), global longitudinal strain, global peak systolic strain rate of radial, and global peak diastolic strain rate of radial were significantly lower in HCM patients with HT, intermediate in HCM patients without HT, and greater in the normal controls (all, P<0.05). Worse GCS was observed in HCM patients with HT than those without HT (P<0.05). Multivariable linear regression analysis showed that HT was independently associated with impaired LV ejection fraction and reduced strain (all P<0.05). CONCLUSION The presence of HT was associated with an adverse phenotype, including worse ejection fraction and reduced strains in HCM patients. In addition, management of HT and its effect on the clinical outcomes in HCM patients needs to be studied.

Abstract
G protein-coupled estrogen receptor 1 (GPER-1) has gained recognition for its role in conferring cardioprotection. However, the extent to which GPER-1 exerts equally important effects in both sexes remains unclear. The study found similar expressions of GPER-1 in rat heart apex in both sexes. In male rats, administering epinephrine (Epi) at a dose of 31.36 microg/100 g resulted in a rapid decline in cardiac function, accompanied by a sharp increase in bax/bcl-2 levels. In contrast, female rats did not display significant changes in cardiac function under the same conditions. Additionally, compared to the injection of Epi alone (at a dose of 15.68 microg/100 g), the administration of G15 (GPER-1 antagonist) further decreased cardiac function in both male and female rats. However, it only increased mortality and lung coefficient in male rats. Conversely, G1 (GPER-1 agonist) administration improved cardiac function in both sexes. Notably, the apex of the male heart exhibited lower levels of inhibitory G protein (Galphai). Furthermore, female and male rats treated with Epi displayed elevated phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-Akt). Compared to their respective Epi groups, the administration of G15 increased p-Akt levels in female rat hearts but decreased them in male rat hearts. Conversely, the administration of G1 decreased p-Akt levels in females but rapidly increased them in male rats. Our study uncovers the vital role of GPER-1 in protecting against stress-induced heart injuries in a sex-specific manner. These findings hold immense potential for advancing targeted cardiac therapies and enhancing outcomes for both females and males.

Abstract
The first search for soft unclustered energy patterns (SUEPs) is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, collected in 2016-2018 by the CMS detector at the LHC. Such SUEPs are predicted by hidden valley models with a new, confining force with a large 't Hooft coupling. In events with boosted topologies, selected by high-threshold hadronic triggers, the multiplicity and sphericity of clustered tracks are used to reject the background from standard model quantum chromodynamics. With no observed excess of events over the standard model expectation, limits are set on the cross section for production via gluon fusion of a scalar mediator with SUEP-like decays.

Effects of heat stress abatement on behavioral response in lactating dairy cows prior to and following an intramammary lipopolysaccharide infusion. J Dairy Sci 2024:S0022-0302(24)01283-9. Abstract
The assessment of animal behavior serves as a valuable approach to identify illness and animal responses to environmental stimuli. Both heat stress and mastitis are reported to impact the behavioral responses of dairy cattle. However, little is known about the effects of heat stress on the lactating cow's behavioral responses to mastitis. The aims of the current study were to evaluate the effects of deprivation of evaporative cooling on behavioral responses of lactating dairy cows before and following mammary inflammation induced by intramammary lipopolysaccharide (IM-LPS) infusion and to characterize the impact of deprivation of evaporative cooling on feed sorting in lactating dairy cows during summer. Multiparous mid-lactating Holstein dairy cows (n = 18, parity = 2.4 ± 0.6, DIM = 136 ± 61 d) were randomly assigned to: evaporatively cooled (CL, n = 9) or not cooled (NC, n = 9) for 36 d (average temperature-humidity index = 78.4). The evaporative cooling system included misters and fans. Misters were installed on the front face of each fan, which was placed over both feed bunk and free stalls. On d 30, the left rear quarters of a subset of cows (n = 14, 7/treatment) were infused with a bolus of LPS (10 µg of Escherichia coli O111:B4 LPS). Feeding and resting behaviors were recorded throughout the experiment using automated sensor devices (NEDAP). Sorting activity based on particle size separation using a Penn State Particle Separator was assessed at d 3, 16, and 26 of the experiment. Before IM-LPS, NC cows had lower ruminating and eating time, and consequently greater inactive time compared with CL cows. Relative to CL cows, NC cows had reduced lying time, and greater standing and walking time. The NC cows also had greater standing bouts, only at the beginning of the experiment, relative to CL cows. Additionally, NC cows sorted more for long particles (NC: 99.4% vs. CL: 94.4%) and sorted against medium and short particles on d 3 of the experiment compared with CL cows. However, following IM-LPS, no significant differences in behavioral responses were observed between NC and CL cows. In conclusion, deprivation of evaporative cooling negatively affected the behavioral responses of lactating dairy cows during summer. Further, heat-stressed cows without evaporative cooling sorted more for long particles of the diet potentially as a response to cope with the reduced rumen pH. However, deprivation of evaporative cooling does not have a significant impact on the lactating cow's behavioral responses to LPS induced mammary inflammation.

Abstract
The breakthrough in electrolyte technology stands as a pivotal factor driving the battery revolution forward. The colloidal electrolytes, as one of the emerging electrolytes, will arise gushing research interest due to their complex colloidal behaviors and mechanistic actions at different conditions (aqueous/nonaqueous solvents, salt concentrations etc.). Herein, we show "beyond aqueous" colloidal electrolytes with ultralow salt concentration and inherent low freezing points to investigate its underlying mechanistic principles to stabilize cryogenic Zn metal batteries. Impressively, the "seemingly undesired" concentration polarization at the interface would disrupt the coalescence stability of the electrolyte, leading to a mechanically rigid interphase of colloidal particle-rich layer, positively inhibiting side reactions on either side of the electrodes. Importantly, the multi-layered pouch cells with cathode loading of 10 mg cm-2 exhibit undecayed capacity at various temperatures, and a relatively high capacity of 50 mAh g-1 could be well maintained at -80 °C.

MRI-based radiomics models for noninvasive evaluation of lymphovascular space invasion in cervical cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Clin Radiol 2024; 79:e1372-e1382. [PMID: 39183137 DOI: 10.1016/j.crad.2024.07.018] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [MESH Headings] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 04/24/2024] [Revised: 07/02/2024] [Accepted: 07/26/2024] [Indexed: 08/27/2024]
Abstract
AIM Aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of preoperative MRI-based radiomic models for noninvasive prediction of lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) in patients with cervical cancer (CC). MATERIALS AND METHODS A systematic search of the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases was conducted up to December 21, 2023. The quality of the studies was assessed utilizing the Radiomics Quality Score (RQS) system and the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies (QUADAS-2) tool. Pooled estimates of sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), and area under the curve (AUC) of the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (SROC) were computed. The clinical utility was evaluated using the Fagan nomogram. Heterogeneity was investigated and subgroup analyses were conducted. RESULTS Eleven studies were included, with nine studies reporting independent validation sets. In the training sets, the pooled sensitivity, specificity, DOR, and AUC of SROC were 0.81 (95% CI: 0.75-0.85), 0.78 (95% CI: 0.73-0.83), 15 (95% CI: 11-20), and 0.86 (95% CI: 0.79-0.92), respectively. For the validation sets, the overall sensitivity, specificity, DOR, and AUC of SROC were 0.79 (95% CI: 0.73-0.84), 0.73 (95% CI: 0.67-0.78), 10 (95% CI: 7-15), and 0.83 (95% CI: 0.71-0.91), respectively. The Fagan nomogram indicated good clinical utility. Subgroup analysis revealed that multi-sequence MRI-based models exhibited superior diagnostic performance compared to single-sequence MRI-based models in validation sets. CONCLUSION This meta-analysis highlights the potential diagnostic efficacy of MRI-based radiomic models for predicting LVSI in CC. Nevertheless, large-sample, multicenter studies are still warranted, and improvements in the standardization of radiomics methodology are necessary.

Abstract
Semen traits play a crucial role in pig reproduction and fertility. However, limited data availability hinder a comprehensive understanding of the genetic mechanisms underlying these traits. In this study, we integrated 597 299 ejaculates and 3 596 sequence data to identify genetic variants and candidate genes related to four semen traits, including sperm progressive motility (MOT), semen volume, sperm concentration (CON), and effective sperm count (SUM). A cross-ancestry meta-genome-wide association study was conducted to detect 163 lead single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with MOT, CON, and SUM. Subsequently, transcriptome-wide association studies and colocalisation analyses were integrated to identify 176 candidate genes, many of which have documented roles in spermatogenesis or male mammal semen traits. Our analysis highlighted the potential involvement of CSM5, PDZD9, and LDAF1 in regulating semen traits through multiple methods. Finally, to validate the function of significant SNPs, we performed genomic feature best linear unbiased prediction in 348 independent pigs using identified trait-related SNP subsets as genomic features. We found that integrating the top 0.1, 1, and 5% significant SNPs as genomic features could enhance genomic prediction accuracy for CON and MOT compared to traditional genomic best linear unbiased prediction. This study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the genetic mechanisms of boar semen traits and provides insight for developing genomic selection models.

Abstract
Amphibian declines, driven by climate change (e.g., shifting temperatures, altered precipitation) and human activities like deforestation, agriculture, and urbanization, may lead to local extinctions. Quantifying the relative impact of climate change versus human influence remains challenging. This study uses species distribution models (SDMs) and nearly 1000 years of historical distribution data from ancient texts and local archives to reconstruct the past distribution range of the Chinese giant salamander (Andrias davidianus) and to assess the spatiotemporal shifts in its range over time. The results reveal that over the past millennium, the potential distribution range of the Chinese giant salamander consistently contracted, decreasing by 10% from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) and a further 30% from the Qing Dynasty to the modern era. Losses are concentrated in eastern plains with abundant water bodies, resulting in available habitat reduction to 27% of the Qing Dynasty's area. Climate factors have been key in shaping the salamander's distribution, but our findings reveal that population density has consistently impacted its range throughout history, highlighting the lasting influence of human activity. Climate models project a about 10% decrease in suitable habitat by around 2090, with northward shifts in suitable habitat. Given the urgent threat of habitat loss and environmental degradation, immediate and effective actions are crucial to prevent the local extinction of the Chinese giant salamander, including habitat protection, environmental restoration, and strict regulations against hunting and habitat destruction. This study, analyzing the Chinese giant salamander's suitable habitat historically, identifies human activities as a pivotal force in early amphibian species decline in China, contributing valuable perspectives to future amphibian conservation and management.

Abstract
In 2022, WHO updated the classification and concept of adrenal cortical and medullary tumors. In terms of adrenal cortical tumors, the WHO classification further standardizes the nomenclature of nodular adrenal cortical disease and refines the pathological classification of primary aldosteronism. In terms of adrenal medullary tumors, the WHO classification unifies the concepts of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma, and reclassifies various concepts, including paraganglioma-like neuroendocrine tumors. The new standards not only cover the clinical manifestations of the disease, but also include other multiple aspects such as the histological origin of the disease, immunohistochemical manifestations, physiological mechanisms of the disease, hereditary susceptibility and prognostic factors. This article intends to explore how to improve the diagnostic and therapeutic level of adrenal tumors.
