Abstract
Methane emissions from vehicles have made a significant contribution to the greenhouse effect, primarily due to its high global warming potential. Supported noble metal catalysts are widely employed in catalytic combustion of methane in vehicles, but they still face challenges such as inadequate low-temperature activity and deactivation due to sintering under harsh operating conditions. In the present work, a series of encapsulated structured catalysts with palladium nanoparticles confined in hydrophobic silicalite-2 were prepared by an in situ synthesis method. Based on various characterization methods, including XRD, HR-TEM, XPS, H2-TPR, O2-TPD, H2O-TPD, CH4-TPR, Raman, and in situ DRIFTS-MS, it was confirmed that PdOx nanoparticles were mainly encapsulated inside the silicalite-2 zeolite, which further maintained the stability of the nanoparticles under harsh conditions. Specifically, the 3Pd@S-2 sample exhibited high catalytic activity for methane oxidation even after harsh hydrothermal aging at 750 °C for 16 h and maintained long-term stability at 400 °C for 130 h during wet methane combustion. In situ Raman spectroscopy has confirmed that PdOx species act as active species for methane oxidation. During this reaction, methane reacts with PdOx to produce CO2 and H2O, while simultaneously reducing PdOx to metallic Pd species, which is further reoxidized by oxygen to replenish the PdOx catalyst.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic encapsulated intracerebral hematoma (CEICH) is a rare type of intracerebral hematoma (ICH) with peculiar radiological features and presenting as subtle slow-growing lesion exerting mass effect. We performed a systematic review of the literature focused on diagnosis and management of patients affected by CEICH. MATERIAL AND METHODS A literature search according to the PRISMA statement was conducted using PubMed and Scopus databases and pertinent Mesh terms. All papers that reported intraventricular CEICH, or CEICH cases treated conservatively or by CT-guided needle aspiration were not included in this study. A total of 40 papers were included in this review, with 58 patients (38 males and 20 females) and a mean age of 41.44 ± 20.05 years (range 1-80). RESULTS Neurological symptoms of onset include those related to an increase in intracranial pressure (ICP) in 28/58 cases (48.2%), seizures in 17/58 cases (29.3%), motor deficits in 14/58 cases (24.1%). The most frequent localization is atypical in 45/58 cases (77.6%). Surgical approach is not specified in 21/58 cases (36.2%), craniotomy was performed in 31/58 cases (53.4%), craniectomy in 5/58 cases (8.6%) and only in one case (1.7%) an endoscopic approach was performed. CEICH are usually located in an atypical site. CONCLUSIONS There is not an association with anticoagulants and antiplatelets intake. Arteriovenous malformation is the most frequent cause. Surgery is suggested, and craniotomy is the most used approach even if further investigation should be directed to analyze the efficacy of endoscopic approach of these lesions, which may show favorable outcome.

Abstract
Epipericardial fat necrosis (EFN) is a rare and benign condition. The three cardinal features of EFN are acute pleuritic chest pain, radiological features of an encapsulated fatty lesion within the epipericardial fat and the presence of inflammation within the surrounding pericardium. The exact aetiology is still unknown, and there are no known risk factors. The condition appears to be a transient process with no associated long-term complications. In this case study, we demonstrate the multitude of radiological features associated with this condition. A 29-year-old Caucasian female presented with acute pleuritic chest pain. There were no acute changes on her blood work, electrocardiogram (ECG) or echocardiogram. The chest radiograph showed an opacity projected within the anterior mediastinum. Further imaging, with computed tomography (CT) chest with contrast, was performed to define the characteristics of the opacity. This confirmed an encapsulated, mixed fat, soft tissue density in the left pericardiac region deemed to represent EFN. Follow-up magnetic resonance (MR) cardiac imaging at 1, 4 and 12 months demonstrated the self-resolving characteristics of this condition. EFN is a rare differential diagnosis to consider in patients presenting with acute pleuritic chest pain when laboratory tests are normal and there are no acute ECG findings. EFN should be excluded by imaging with CT or MRI of the heart. We have demonstrated through follow-up MR imaging the progression and resolution of EFN over 12 months.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Encapsulated papillary carcinoma of the breast is rare, making difficult diagnosis and resulting in patients undergoing excision biopsy before definitive surgery. Evidence-based guidelines are sparse. We would like to further elucidate the clinicopathological, treatment and survival outcomes. MATERIALS AND METHODS 54 patients identified, with a median follow up duration of 48 months. Patients' demographics, radiological and clinicopathological characteristics, treatment, adjuvant therapies as well as survival data were analysed. RESULTS 18 (33.3%) cases were pure EPC, 12 (22.2%) were EPC associated with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and 24 (44.4%) cases had concurrent invasive ductal carcinoma. EPCs were more likely to present as a solid-cystic mass on sonography (63.8%), regular-shaped (oval or round) (97.9%), lack spiculations (95.7%) and lack suspicious microcalcifications (95.6%). Median tumour size was largest in the EPC with IDC group (18.5 mm). 2 patients developed loco-regional recurrence. Overall survival is good for EPCs of all subtypes. CONCLUSION EPC is a rare tumour with excellent prognosis.

Abstract
The use of nanotechnology in the agrochemical industry has become increasingly popular over the past decade, raising the question of whether these products may represent a risk or benefit compared to their conventional presentations. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the different genotoxic effects of the Complete encapsulated presentation (CEP), the micro encapsulated fraction (MEF), and the nano encapsulated fraction (NEF) of two pesticides (Karate® and Ampligo®) in lymphocytes from human peripheral blood. To test the different fractions, the pesticides were separated by centrifugations by the average size of the capsule, then were characterized by the general composition of the capsule by RAMAN and FTIR spectroscopy and the active ingredient of both pesticides by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Each fraction was tested separately and analyzed by comet assay through the tail moment and the percentage of DNA in the tail and the cytokinesis-block micronucleus through their frequency of micronucleus, nucleoplasmic bridges, and nuclear buds. The nuclear division index and the Nuclear Division Cytotoxicity Index were also measured. For both pesticides, the CEP increased the genetic damage observed in the tail moment and percentage of DNA in the tail at all concentrations for both pesticides. However, in the micronucleus test, NEF induced more micronuclei than MEF and CEP in all treatments reducing cell proliferation as the concentration decreased for both pesticides. These results suggested that NEF had more genotoxic effects in both pesticides, increasing the damage to the cells.

Abstract
Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis ATCC27536 and Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC4356 were encapsulated in a conjugated whey protein hydrolysate (WPH10) through spray drying. Probiotic cultures were added at the ratio of 1:1 into the conjugated WPH10 solution at a spiking level of about 10 log10 cfu/mL. The mixture was spray dried in a Niro drier with inlet and outlet temperatures of 200°C and 90°C, respectively. The final dried product was determined for cell viability and further stored for 16 wk at 25°, 4°, and -18°C to monitor viability and functionality. Micro images showed the presence of link bridges in non-conjugated WPH10, whereas, in the case of conjugated WPH10, round particles with pores were observed. The mean probiotic counts before and after spray drying were 10.59 log10 cfu/mL and 8.98 log10 cfu/g, respectively, indicating good retention of viability after spray drying. The solubility and wetting time of the WPH10-maltodextrin (MD) encapsulated probiotic powder were 91.03% and 47 min, whereas for WPH10, the solubility and wetting time were 82.03% and 53 min, respectively. At the end of storage period, the counts were 7.18 log10 cfu/g at 4°C and 7.87 log10 cfu/g at -18°C, whereas at 25°C the counts were significantly reduced, to 3.97 log10 cfu/g. The solubility of WPH-MD powder was 82.36%, 83.1%, and 81.19% at -18°C, 4°C, and 25°C, respectively, and wetting times were 61 min, 60 min, and 63 min at -18°C, 4°C, and 25°C, respectively. By contrast, for WPH10 powder, the solubility significantly reduced to 69.41%, 69.97%, and 68.99% at -18°C, 4°C, and 25°C, and wetting times increased to 71 min, 70 min, and 72 min at -18°C, 4°C, and 25°C, respectively. The conjugated WPH10 is thus demonstrated as a promising carrier for probiotics and can be further used as an ingredient for developing functional foods, to harness their enhanced functionality and health benefits derived from both WPH and probiotics.

Abstract
Tea tree oil (TTO) exerts key roles in improving growth performance of pigs. However, knowledge is limited regarding comparative effects of Encp TTO and Un-encp TTO supplementation on growth performance of pigs. A study determined the effects of TTO or its capsulation on growth performance, antioxidant capacity, and intestinal microbiome of weaned pigs. A total of 144 healthy pigs (8.5 ± 0.24 kg) were subjected to four treatments for a 28-d trial with six replicates per treatment and six pigs per pen: negative control, NC; positive control, PC (antibiotic supplemented); Un-encp TTO (supplemented with unencapsulated TTO); Encp TTO (supplemented with encapsulated TTO). NC, TTO, and PC treatments were compared with regard to improved average daily gain (ADG), average daily feed intake (ADFI), feed conversion rate, nutrient digestibility, and intestinal morphology (p < 0.05) and decreased diarrhea rate. TTO- and PC-treated pigs had higher levels of serum superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and immunoglobulin G; lower levels of liver aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase; and improved concentrations of interleukin 10 (IL-10), tumor necrosis factor α, and IL-1β (p < 0.05). TTO- and PC-treated pigs had higher abundance of beneficial bacterial species Subdoligranulum and lower abundance of diarrhea associated species Escherichia-Shigella in cecal and colonic digesta (p < 0.05). Encapsulation of TTO preserved more activities of TTO than its unencapsulated counterpart by showing higher ADG, ADFI, and feed conversion rate during day 1 (d1) to d14 (p < 0.05) and tended to lower diarrhea rate (p = 0.083) and improve villous height/crypt depth (VH/CD) ratio (p = 0.089) in jejunum. Encapsulation of TTO also improved antioxidant indexes and decreased liver injury and inflammation accordingly (p < 0.05). Encapsulated TTO-treated pigs had higher abundance of beneficial Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1 and lower the abundance of harmful Escherichia-Shigella in cecal and colonic digesta (p < 0.05). Our results demonstrated TTO benefits on improving growth performance of weaned pigs and further proved that encapsulation of TTO was superior to its unencapsulated counterpart at multiples. Encapsulated TTO was similar to the PC group and could be potentially an alternative of feed antibiotics for weaned pigs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is an effective treatment of recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (rCDI) and is being applied experimentally in other diseases. Encapsulated administration may be equivalent in efficacy to delivery through other routes. METHODS A systematic review was undertaken of studies using encapsulated FMT up to 26 October 2020. Data on indication, clinical outcomes, safety, treatment protocol and capsule preparation were collected and reported. Pooled rates of clinical efficacy in rCDI were calculated using random-effects meta-analysis. The impact of single variables on clinical efficacy was evaluated using univariate meta-regression. RESULTS A total of 35 studies reporting the treatment of 960 patients with encapsulated FMT for eight different indications met the inclusion criteria. Most studies (n = 18, 51%) and patients (n = 755, 79%) were from studies on rCDI. Cure rates after single and multiple courses of treatments with encapsulated FMT in rCDI were 85% (95% CI: 82%-88%) and 93% (95% CI: 88%-96%) respectively. The treatment outcome was not significantly affected by dose, number of delivered capsules, anaerobic/aerobic processing, single/multi-donor treatment, lyophilisation, or any other single factor in the production or delivery of encapsulated FMT. Promising but non-comparable results from the treatment of ulcerative colitis and multidrug-resistant organisms were reported. CONCLUSIONS Encapsulated FMT is an effective and safe treatment of rCDI, with cure rates comparable to FMT delivered through other routes. The treatment is effective despite variations in donor screening, preparation and treatment protocol. For other indications, the role of FMT capsules is still not sufficiently examined, although some studies show promising results. Evidence for clinical efficacy The bacteria and other microorganisms of the gut is different in patient with various diseases in comparison with healthy subjects.Therefore, ways to change the microorganisms of the gut in a beneficial direction has been the subject of various research projects within recent years.Faecal microbiota transplantation often referred as FMT is a method of transferring microorganisms from healthy donors to patients with various diseases and is seen as one way to change the microbial community of the gut in a beneficial direction.Faecal microbiota transplantation can be performed in different ways such as through endoscopy, enemas or capsules. The transfer through capsules is preferred by the patients and has advantages since it can be administered long-term and can be delivered to the patients in their home. In this paper, we evaluated all accessible research reporting treatment with encapsulated faecal microbiota transplantation in the treatment of various diseases. We report the following major findings:-Treatment with capsules is safe when guidelines for screening donors and testing faecal material is followed.-The treatment is highly effective in the treatment of recurrent C. difficile infection, a disease with high mortality often caused by repeated antibiotic treatments. The treatment was effective in 596 of 723 patients following one course of capsule treatment.-Faecal microbiota transplantation delivered through capsules is as effective as treatment delivered through other routes in the treatment of C. difficile infection.-The treatment is effective in the treatment of C. difficile infection across studies and countries, despite great differences in the ways the capsules were prepared and delivered.-Increasing the amount of faecal material used in the production did not affect the efficacy of the treatment.-There are promising results in the treatment of other diseases such as liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and the treatment of multi-drug resistant bacteria.

Gliosis with hemorrhagic transformation is a late reported complication of stroke. Sometimes there is a big discrepancy between clinical and radiological diagnosis, and clinical decisions must be multi-aspect decisions and not dependent on a single discrepant investigation result.

Abstract
Given the costs associated with designing novel active ingredients, new formulations focus on the use of other ingredients to modify existing formulations. Nanosized encapsulated pesticides offer a variety of enhanced features including controlled release and improved efficacy. Despite the presence of nanosized capsules in current-use pesticide formulations, the analytical and toxicological implications of encapsulation are uncertain. To explore this issue quantitatively, we fractionated the capsules of a commercially available encapsulated insecticide formulation (γ-cyhalothrin active ingredient) into two size ranges: a large fraction (LF), with an average hydrodynamic diameter (HDD) of 758 nm, and a small fraction (SF), with an average HDD of 449 nm. We developed a novel extraction method demonstrating a time-dependent inhibition of γ-cyhalothrin from capsules for up to 48 h. An acute immobilization test with a freshwater macroinvertebrate (Ceriodaphnia dubia) revealed that the SF was significantly more toxic than both the LF and the free γ-cyhalothrin treatment (EC50 = 0.18 µg/L, 0.57 µg/L, and 0.65 µg/L, respectively). These findings highlight that encapsulation of γ-cyhalothrin mitigates hydrophobic partitioning in a time-dependent manner and influences toxicity in a size-dependent manner. Recognizing the analytical and toxicological nuances of various nanosized capsules can contribute to innovation in pesticide formulations and may lead to more comprehensive pesticide regulation.

Abstract
AIM The study aimed to evaluate the effect of encapsulated probiotic bacteria (Lactobacillus lactis and Bifidobacterium bifidum) on broiler serum biochemical parameters. MATERIALS AND METHODS Encapsulation protects the probiotics and increases their livability on exposure to unfavorable processing and storage temperatures and gastrointestinal pH. Hence, an in vitro study was undertaken to encapsulate the probiotic bacteria L. lactis and B. bifidum with sodium alginate and chitosan and evaluate the encapsulation efficiency. This experiment was conducted with 288-day-old broiler chicken; they were distributed randomly into eight treatments and six replicates in each treatment (six birds in each replicate) and given with standard feed. RESULTS Supplementation of the encapsulated bacteria either alone or in combination (T4, T6, and T8) significantly (p<0.05) increased mean total serum protein, albumin, and globulin as compared to the birds that were not supplemented with any probiotic (T1 and T2) or supplemented with non-encapsulated bacteria (T3, T5, and T7). Supplementation of the encapsulated bacteria either alone or in combination (T4, T6, and T8) significantly (p<0.05) lowered mean total serum cholesterol, serum low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and serum triglycerides, as compared to the birds that were not supplemented with any probiotic (T1 and T2) or supplemented with non-encapsulated bacteria (T3, T5, and T7). CONCLUSION It may be concluded that supplementation of the encapsulated probiotic bacteria either alone or in combination significantly increased total serum protein, albumin, and globulin and significantly lowered mean total serum cholesterol, serum LDL cholesterol, and serum triglycerides as compared to the birds that were not supplemented with any probiotic or supplemented with non-encapsulated bacteria.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Noninvasive encapsulated follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (noniEFVPTC) has low risk of adverse outcome in adults, warranting reclassification as noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features (NIFTP). In children, thyroid nodules have higher risk of malignancy and it is unknown if encapsulated FVPTC (EFVPTC) and infiltrative FVPTC (IFVPTC) tumors have different behavior. We analyzed the clinicopathologic features of follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (FVPTC) subtypes in our pediatric population to determine if noniEFVPTC has an indolent course as reported in adults. PROCEDURE We retrospectively studied all patients diagnosed with FVPTC at our institution. The clinicopathologic characteristics of the histologic subtypes were compared. RESULTS Eighteen patients were identified, all treated with total thyroidectomy. No significant differences in age, sex, tumor size, focality, or prior malignancy were detected between subtypes. Extrathyroidal extension had significantly higher incidence in IFVPTC (5/8) compared with EFVPTC (1/10, P = 0.03), translating in significantly more T3 tumors within IFVPTC subtype (5/8), whereas most EFVPTC cases had T1 staging (6/10, T1 vs. T3, P = 0.05). EFVPTC had significantly lower rate of lymph node involvement (N1 in 2/8) compared with IFVPTC (N1 in 8/8, P = 0.003). Only one patient diagnosed with IFVPTC developed extranodal recurrence. When noniEFVPTC and iEFVPTC were separately compared, the noninvasive form showed no propensity for invasive growth (T3 staging: 0/4 vs. 2/6), lymph node metastasis (N1: 0/3 vs. 2/5) or extranodal recurrence. CONCLUSION In children, noniEFVPTC/NIFTP has indolent behavior, warranting consideration of less aggressive management, similar to adults.

Abstract
Synthetic oligodeoxynucleotides containing unmethylated CpG motifs (CpG ODNs) stimulate immune cells via Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9). Because oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) are susceptible to gastric degradation, clinical trials designed to evaluate their therapeutic utility have relied solely on parenteral routes of administration. A strategy to improve the activity of orally delivered ODNs by reducing their susceptibility to gastrointestinal (GI) digestion via encapsulation in calcium carbonate nanoparticles (ODNcaps) was recently described. This study compares the in vitro and in vivo activity of encapsulated (ODNcaps) versus free CpG ODNs delivered orally or parenterally. ODNcaps mirrored the ability of free ODNs to stimulate splenic B cells and macrophages in vitro. ODNcaps activated immune cells in the Peyer’s patches and mesenteric lymph nodes after oral delivery. Their effect on GI immunity was evaluated in studies of dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis and enteric infection, whereas systemic immunity was examined by monitoring their effect on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced cytokine production and systemic pathogen challenge. Results indicate that orally delivered CpG ODNs predominantly induce GI rather than systemic immunity, and that calcium carbonate encapsulation does not significantly alter this behavior.

Abstract
This paper investigates the question of why, in the psychoanalytic psychotherapy of a patient with encapsulated autistic pathology, the steady maintenance of a therapeutically neutral stance can be especially difficult. Transference and countertransference vicissitudes are examined. The author notices that the patient's intolerance of 'opposites' (cf. Tustin, 1986), combined with extreme antipathy to having that intolerance noticed, can elicit corresponding, and potentially destabilizing, countertransference reactions. These reactions comprise an unstable tension between co-existing pressures towards fusion with, or expulsion of, the patient, their co-existence under further pressure to remain unnoticed. Until perceived, this state of affairs risks collusion with the pressure either to merge with or to expel the patient, and compromises the capacity to notice the detail of the transference process and even to notice co-existent positive and negative transference images. Detailed clinical illustration is given, including a session where it was difficult to notice the patient's experience of a couple as a combined object. The author finds these observations of bipolar countertransference tensions illuminated by Green's concepts of positive and negative narcissism and of the disobjectalizing function, and specifically accounted for by Ribas's theory of autism as radical drive defusion.

Abstract
Copper deficiency or toxicity in agricultural soil circumscribes a plant's growth and physiology, hampering photochemical and biochemical networks within the system. So far, copper sulfate (CS) has been used widely despite its toxic effect. To get around this long-standing problem, copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) have been synthesized, characterized, and tested on mung bean plants along with commercially available salt CS, to observe morphological abnormalities enforced if any. CuNPs enhanced photosynthetic activity by modulating fluorescence emission, photophosphorylation, electron transport chain (ETC), and carbon assimilatory pathway under controlled laboratory conditions, as revealed from biochemical and biophysical studies on treated isolated mung bean chloroplast. CuNPs at the recommended dose worked better than CS in plants in terms of basic morphology, pigment contents, and antioxidative activities. CuNPs showed elevated nitrogen assimilation compared to CS. At higher doses CS was found to be toxic to the plant system, whereas CuNP did not impart any toxicity to the system including morphological and/or physiological alterations. This newly synthesized polymer-encapsulated CuNPs can be utilized as nutritional amendment to balance the nutritional disparity enforced by copper imbalance.

Abstract
We describe the clinicopathologic characteristics of 55 oral palisaded encapsulated (solitary circumscribed) neuromas (PEN/SCN). Fifty-five cases of PEN/SCN in 54 patients were reviewed. Lesions were categorized according to their histologic pattern, partial or complete encapsulation, presence of Verocay bodies and presence of a parent peripheral nerve. In 13 selected cases immunohistochemical evaluation for neuronal markers (S-100, GFAP, NFP, EMA) was performed. When immunoreaction with EMA was weak, claudin-1 and glut-1 stains were utilized. Thirty-eight patients were men and 16 were women. Mean patient age was 48 years (SD: +/-14). The vast majority involved the masticatory (palate and gingiva) mucosa (76.4%) followed by the labial mucosa, the tongue and buccal mucosa. Recurrence was recorded in only one case. Histologically, 34 lesions had a lobular pattern, 10 were plexiform, 7 fungating and 4 multilobular. Stroma was limited, but focal myxoid changes were seen at the periphery of the lobules. Only one predominantly myxoid lesion was encountered. The number of intralesional axons varied, but the ratio of Schwann cells to axons was generally less than 1:2. Most lesions (89%) were only partially surrounded by perineurium. Tumor cells were S-100 positive and GFAP negative. The parent nerve was identified in 50% of the cases. Overlying epithelium was generally atrophic. Peritumoral connective tissue was generally unremarkable, but chronic inflammation was present in five cases. PEN/SCN is a relatively common peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Generally, its diagnosis is simple. GFAP may be of help to distinguish PEN/SCN from other peripheral nerve sheath tumors (schwannoma, neurofibroma, traumatic neuroma) in cases where histomorphologic features may be confusing. Finally, pathologists should be aware of the occurrence of plexiform and multilobular PEN/SCN variants, to avoid misinterpretation as plexiform neurofibroma or schwannoma.
