Abstract
BACKGROUND Programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) is a negative immune stimulatory molecule that plays a key role in tumor immune escape. We analyzed the clinical value of PD-L1-positive expression in predicting the outcome of breast cancer patients and to establish its role as new biomarker to guide precise treatment. PATIENTS AND METHODS PubMed and Embase were searched for all original English-language articles published before January 30, 2019; all articles reported the predictive and prognostic implications of PD-L1+ in breast cancer. Data were analyzed by Stata SE 12 software. RESULTS The PD-L1+ rate varied from 19.7% to 77.6% in breast cancer patients. Specifically, patients with estrogen receptor-positive, progesterone receptor-positive, luminal A, luminal B, and HER2+ disease subtypes had lower PD-L1 expression, while the PD-L1+ percentages did not follow any trend in patients with Ki-67+, normal-like, HER2 overexpression, and basal-like subtype. In addition, PD-L1+ was observed to be associated with significantly improved pathologic complete response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (odds ratio = 2.01; 95% confidence interval, 1.35-3.01; P < .05). Using PD-L1+ to predict pathologic response showed obvious accuracy. However, PD-L1+ did not show significant association with risk of higher recurrence or metastasis, or higher death risk (hazard ratio = 0.91, P = .655; hazard ratio = 1.00, P = .995). CONCLUSION PD-L1+ is a promising immune parameter with the potential to predict response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, but it cannot indicate a higher risk of death, recurrence, or metastasis.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to explore the effect of extended-release paliperidone (paliperidone ER) and olanzapine on heart rate variability (HRV) in patients with schizophrenia. METHODS A total of 106 patients with schizophrenia diagnosed by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Fifth Edition) were randomly divided into the paliperidone ER group or the olanzapine group for an 8-week clinical trial, with 53 patients in each group. The time domain and frequency domain analyses including the SD of all the R-R intervals in 24 hours (SDNN), the SD of the mean value of all the normal R-R intervals in every 5-minute interval within 24 hours (SDANN index), the mean value of the SD of all the normal R-R intervals in every 5-minute interval within 24 hours (SDNN index), the root mean square of successive R-R differences, the percentage of adjacent R-R intervals that differ by more than 50 milliseconds, high-frequency power (HF), low-frequency power (LF), and LF/HF were adopted to assess the HRV of patients at baseline and after treatment for 8 weeks in each group. The Positive and Negative Symptom Scale was used to evaluate the clinical efficacy. The incidence rates of adverse reactions were also calculated. RESULTS In total, 48 patients in the paliperidone ER group and 45 patients in the olanzapine group completed the entire 8-week treatment. The SDNN, SDNN index, and SDANN index in the olanzapine group were significantly lower than those in the paliperidone ER group (P < 0.05) after treatment for 8 weeks, whereas their mean LF level was higher than that in the paliperidone ER group (P < 0.05) after completion of treatment. Patients in the olanzapine group showed a significant decrease in the SDNN, SDANN index, and SDNN index as well as a statistical increase in the LF and LF/HF in comparison with the pretreatment values (P < 0.05), whereas patients in the paliperidone ER group showed a decrease in the SDANN index and a statistical increase in the LF in comparison with the pretreatment values (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The HRV of patients with schizophrenia changes when they are administered with paliperidone ER or olanzapine, and more attention should be paid to their cardiac autonomic function when using these 2 antipsychotics.

Abstract
To investigate effects of bowel preparation, experience level of colonoscopists, and colonoscopy withdrawal time (CWT) on the quality of an individual opportunistic screening colonoscopy, according to adenoma detection rate (ADR).Data were retrospectively analyzed from opportunistic screening colonoscopies (n = 16,951) at 4 hospitals of various care levels in China.The ADR positively correlated with the experience level of the colonoscopist. The individualized CWT varied, depending on the quality of bowel preparation and the number of colonoscopies performed previously by the colonoscopist. In a setting of adequate bowel preparation, the mean CWT decreased with the increased experience of the colonoscopist. With poor and inadequate bowel preparation, no colonoscopist at any level of experience could obtain a satisfactory ADR.For adequately prepared colonoscopies, minimum CWTs have been determined. Repeat colonoscopy is strongly recommended for patients with poor bowel preparation, regardless of the colonoscopist's experience.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study investigated the effect of 70% portal vein ligation (PVL), a widely used procedure for inducing rapid liver regeneration, on the expression of autophagy-related proteins in non-ligated liver lobes in rats. MATERIAL AND METHODS Rats were subjected to either sham (n=30, major portal vein branches were exposed but kept intact) or PVL (n=30, major portal vein branches were double-ligated) operations. Liver samples were collected 12, 24, 48, 72, and 168 h after the operation. Liver volume, liver color, non-ligated liver percentage, and the expressions of light chain (LC) 3, beclin 1, and cyclin D1 in the non-ligated liver lobes were determined. RESULTS When compared to sham rats, increased (P<0.001) growth of the non-ligated liver lobes was observed in PVL rats as early as 12 h after surgery; an increased (P≤0.001) LC3 II/I ratio was observed in the non-ligated lobes of PVL rats as early as 24 h after surgery. Increased expressions of beclin 1 (P≤0.001) and cyclin D1 (P<0.001) were observed in the non-ligated lobes of PVL rats from 12 to 72 h after surgery and from 12 to 168 h after surgery, respectively, when compared to sham rats. In the non-ligated lobes, the expressions of beclin 1 and cyclin D1 were linearly and positively correlated with the LC3 II/I ratio. CONCLUSIONS Autophagy is activated in the non-ligated liver after PVL. Both beclin 1 and cyclin D1 are linearly and positively correlated with autophagy activity in the PVL-induced rapid liver regeneration model.

Abstract
Pulmonary hypertension occurs in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) for several reasons, such as vasculopathy. Previous studies have indicated that the excessive activation of the complement alternative pathway might be involved in the pathogenesis of lupus nephritis, especially in the absence of factor H or its functional impairment. However, the clinical and pathological significance of the alternative complement activation in lupus nephritis patients with pulmonary hypertension remains elusive. The data on patients with pulmonary hypertension and non-pulmonary hypertension lupus nephritis were retrospectively analyzed in our centre. Major plasma levels of complement components were evaluated. The depositions of Bb, C3d and C5b-9 in the lung specimens of pulmonary hypertension combined with SLE patients were detected by immunofluorescence staining. Among 352 lupus nephritis cases, 24 were diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension and 328 with non-pulmonary hypertension. Higher levels of Bb and lower levels of factor H were detected in the pulmonary hypertension group in comparison with the negative group (P = 0.049, P = 0.024, respectively). Pulmonary hypertension was a risk factor for renal outcome as deduced by the log-rank and Cox test for survival analysis. C3d, C5b-9 and Bb were found to be positive in lung specimens of lupus nephritis patients with pulmonary hypertension. We concluded that activation of the complement alternative pathway may be involved in the pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension in lupus nephritis.

Abstract
Ideal cartilage tissue engineering requires scaffolds featuring good biocompatibility, large pore structure, high mechanical strength, as well as minimal invasion procedure. Although significant progress has been made in the development of polymer scaffolds, the construction of smart systems with all the desired properties is still emerging as a challenge. The thermogels of stereocomplex 4-arm poly(ethylene glycol)-polylactide (PEG-PLA) (scPLAgel ) and stereocomplex cholesterol-modified 4-arm PEG-PLA (scPLA-Cholgel ) from the equimolar enantiomeric 4-arm PEG-PLA and 4-arm PEG-PLA-Chol, respectively, are fabricated as scaffolds for cartilage tissue engineering. scPLA-Cholgel shows lower critical gelation temperature, higher mechanical strength, larger pore size, better chondrocyte adhesion, and slower degradation compared to scPLAgel as the benefit of cholesterol modification, which is more appropriate for cartilage regeneration. Moreover, the preservation of morphology, biomechanical property, cartilaginous specific matrix, as well as cartilaginous gene expressions of engineered cartilage mediated by scPLA-Cholgel are proven superior to those by scPLAgel . scPLA-Cholgel serves as a promising chondrocyte carrier for cartilage tissue engineering and gives an alternative solution to clinical cartilage repair.

Abstract
Tomato gray mold disease caused by Botrytis cinerea is a serious disease that threatens tomato production around the world. Clonostachys rosea has been used successfully as a biocontrol agent against divergent plant pathogens, including B. cinerea. To understand the signal transduction pathway of C. rosea-induced resistance to tomato gray mold disease, the effects of C. rosea on gray mold tomato leaves along with changes in the activities of three defense enzymes (phenylalanine ammonialyase [PAL], polyphenol oxidase [PPO], and catalase [CAT]), second messengers (nitric oxide [NO], hydrogen peroxide [H2O2], and superoxide anion radical [O2-]), and stress-related genes (mitogen-activated protein kinase [MAPK], WRKY, Lexyl2, and atpA) in four different hormone-deficient (jasmonic acid [JA], ethylene [ET], salicylic acid [SA], and gibberellin) tomato mutants were investigated. The results revealed that C. rosea significantly inhibited the growth of mycelia and spore germination of B. cinerea. Furthermore, it reduced the incidence of gray mold disease, induced higher levels of PAL and PPO, and induced lower levels of CAT activities in tomato leaves. Moreover, it also increased NO, H2O2, and O2- levels and the gene expression levels of WRKY, MAPK, atpA, and Lexyl2. The incidence of gray mold disease in four hormone-deficient mutants was higher than that in the corresponding wild-type tomato plants. Among all of these hormone-deficient tomato mutants, JA had the most significant effect in regulating the different signal molecules. Additional study suggested that JA upregulated the expression of Lexyl2, MAPK, and WRKY but downregulated atpA. Furthermore, JA also enhanced the activity of PAL, PPO, and CAT and the production of NO and H2O2. SA downregulated CAT and PAL, whereas ET upregulated PAL but downregulated CAT. This study is of significance in understanding the regulatory pathways and biocontrol mechanism of C. rosea against B. cinerea.

Abstract
STUDY OBJECTIVE Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is a rare type of ectopic pregnancy, and a significant concern in the management of this condition is the control and prevention of bleeding. We aimed to determine the efficacy and value of an indwelling, intrauterine Foley balloon catheter in controlling and preventing intraoperative and postoperative bleeding in patients with CSP. DESIGN Retrospective case series. SETTING University-affiliated hospital. PATIENTS Between January 1, 2015 and May 31, 2017, 70 patients presented with CSP. INTERVENTIONS All patients underwent uterine curettage under hysteroscopic guidance and ultrasound monitoring. Patients were then assigned to 2 groups: the study group, with an indwelling Foley balloon catheter placed in the uterine cavity during surgery and retained for 24 to 48 hours, and the control group, without catheter placement. Data were collected to compare the 2 groups in terms of intraoperative and postoperative complications, surgical time, and status of menstruation resumption. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS The average daily volume of postoperative blood loss during the first 3 postoperative days in the study group was 23.1 mL compared with 31.5 mL observed in the control group (p = .041). Moreover, the study group had significantly shorter average duration of bleeding (p = .027) and fewer menstruation abnormalities than the control group. Uterine ultrasonography performed after resumption of menstruation showed that none of the enrolled patients had any intrauterine abnormalities. CONCLUSIONS The use of an indwelling, intrauterine Foley balloon catheter has positive results in the management of CSP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study assessed the effects of ursolic acid (UA) on airway-vessel remodeling and muscle atrophy in cigarette smoke (CS)-induced emphysema rats and investigated potential underlying mechanisms. METHODS Emphysema was induced in a rat model with 3 months of CS exposure. Histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) stains were used to assess airway-vessel remodeling and muscle atrophy-associated changes. Levels of cleaved-caspase3, 8-OHdG, and S100A4 were measured in airways and associated vessels to evaluate cell apoptosis, oxidant stress, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT)-associated factors. Western blot and/or IHC analyses were performed to measure transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-β1)/Smad2.3, alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) expression. We also gave cultured HBE and HUVEC cells Cigarette Smoke Extract (CSE) administration and UA intervention. Using Western blot method to measure TGF-β1/Smad2.3, α-SMA, S100A4, and IGF1 molecules expression. RESULTS UA decreased oxidant stress and cell apoptosis in airway and accompanying vascular walls of cigarette smoke-induced emphysema model rats. UA alleviated EMT, EndMT, changes associated with airway-vessel remodeling and muscle atrophy. The UA effects were associated with IGF1 and TGF-β1/Smad2.3 pathways. CONCLUSIONS UA reduced EMT, EndMT, airway-vessel remodeling, and musculi soleus atrophy in CS-induced emphysema model rats at least partly through IGF1 and TGF-β1/Smad2.3 signaling pathways.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the applicability and value of ultrasound (US) in the diagnosis of anorectal atresia. METHODS Between January 2008 and January 2016, we prospectively evaluated 63,101 fetuses (gestational age, 20-38 weeks), including low- and high-risk populations using 2-dimensional US scans. An abnormal imaging finding was defined as an anal canal diameter of less than the 95% confidence interval (small anal canal) of the normal range or the absence of an anal canal and rectum. Imaging findings were considered normal on detection of an anal canal with a normal width and the absence of abnormalities. Prenatal imaging findings were confirmed by a postnatal or postmortem examination. RESULTS Among the investigated fetuses, 28 showed evidence of anorectal atresia on US scans, and 22 of those with anorectal atresia had additional anomalies. Six cases of isolated anorectal atresia were successfully detected during the preclusive prenatal US scans. Four cases of a low imperforate anus (including 2 covered anuses) yielded false-negative results, indicating a diagnostic rate of 87.5% (28 of 32). The normal appearance of the fetal rectum and anal canal ruled out anorectal atresia in 30 fetuses with a dilated colon. Additionally, there were 3 false-positive cases, in which a narrow anal canal was observed. CONCLUSIONS Identifying the abnormal appearance or absence of the fetal anal canal and rectum on preclusive US anomaly scans is useful for prenatal diagnosis or exclusion of anorectal atresia, which may help improve the detection of isolated anorectal atresia. Furthermore, a combined evaluation of the longitudinal and axial appearances of the fetal anal canal and rectum can improve diagnostic accuracy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This retrospective study was performed to investigate the diagnostic yield of percutaneous core needle biopsy (CNB) for suspected soft tissue lesions of the extremities. METHODS The medical records of 139 consecutive patients who underwent percutaneous CNB for suspected soft tissue lesions of the extremities from January 2014 to December 2016 at a single institution were reviewed. The pathologic findings or clinical follow-ups were used to evaluate the performance of CNB. Alterations in the treatment regimen from pre- to post-biopsy were also analyzed. Complications, when present, were documented. RESULTS In total, 141 biopsy procedures were performed in 139 patients. In total, 136 (96%) biopsies were successful, among which 5 were false-negative and 131 were diagnosed accurately. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of CNB in the differentiation of malignant from benign lesions were 94%, 100%, 96%, 100%, and 90%, respectively. The treatment regimen was altered based on the biopsy findings in 25 cases. Two patients developed mild nerve injury but fully recovered during follow-up. CONCLUSIONS CNB is effective and safe, with high sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy for the diagnosis of soft tissue lesions, especially for differentiating malignant from benign lesions.

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to prospectively evaluate the clinical efficiency of 2-D shear wave elastography (2-D-SWE) for differentiating hepatoblastoma and hepatic hemangioma in children under 3 y of age. 2-D-SWE was performed in 109 consecutive patients with confirmed hepatic neoplasms by pathologic analysis or contrast-enhanced computed tomography plus follow-up observation, in which 71 patients were defined as the test group, and the remaining 38 patients were defined as the validation group. An elasticity value was obtained from each lesion. The diagnostic performance and optimal cut-off value were determined by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis in the test group, and the accuracy of this threshold was analyzed in the validation group. The interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Spearman rank correlation tests were applied to assess the reproducibility of elastic measurement and the relationship between the elasticity value and potential influencing parameters. The mean elasticity values were 58.4 ± 19.5 kPa for hepatoblastoma and 19.0 ± 16.0 kPa for hemangioma (Z = -7.685, p = 0.000). The cut-off value in the test group was 39.5 kPa with an area under the ROC curve for differentiation of 0.915, sensitivity of 88.1% and specificity of 86.2%. The accuracy of this threshold in the validation group was 86.8%. The ICCs for inter- and intra-observer reproducibility for acquisition of the elastic measurement were 0.946 and 0.971, respectively. No significant correlation was found between the elasticity value and age for either hemangioma (r = 0.205, p = 0.167) or hepatoblastoma (r = 0.047, p = 0.715). The elasticity value was positively correlated with lesion size (r = 0.332, p = 0.023) in patients with hemangioma but not in patients with hepatoblastoma (r = 0.222, p = 0.082). As a complementary method, 2-D-SWE may aid the differentiation of hepatoblastoma and hemangioma.

Abstract
AIMS Obestatin regulates water metabolism by inhibiting arginine vasopressin (AVP) release and upregulated obestatin has been detected in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). However, the significance of obestatin in CHF, particularly with regard to water retention and aquaporin 2 (AQP2) expression, remains unknown. MAIN METHODS Using a CHF rat model, the effects of 2-week exogenous obestatin administration were evaluated. Expression of AQP2 was evaluated by immunoblotting, immunohistochemical staining, and quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) in CHF rat model and mouse inner medullary collecting duct (mIMCD) 3 cell line. Moreover, the influence of obestatin on the genetic transcription profile in mIMCD3 cells was evaluated by microarray, and the potential regulatory mechanisms of obestatin on AQP2 were evaluated by RNA silencing of vasopressin receptor 2 (V2R), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG), and G protein-coupled receptor 39 (GPR39). KEY FINDINGS Obestatin increased urinary output and improved expression of CHF biomarker without significantly altering cardiac function, plasma electrolyte concentrations, or the plasma AVP concentration. AQP2 expression was significantly reduced. The results of microarray analyses and qPCR indicated that mRNA levels of Aqp2, Pparg, and V2r were significantly decreased. Inhibition of V2r and Pparg mRNA further reduced the expression of AQP2, while the inhibitory efficacy of obestatin on AQP2 was significantly offset after Gpr39 knockdown. SIGNIFICANCE Long-term treatment with obestatin improves water retention in CHF by increasing urinary output through downregulation of AQP2 expression in renal IMCD cells. These effects may be at least partially mediated by regulation of GPR39, V2R and PPARG signaling.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine whether assisted conception increases the risk for mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection compared with natural conception. DESIGN Prospective cohort study. SETTING Research laboratory. PATIENT(S) A total of 305 children, 176 born with assisted conception and 129 born with natural conception, were born to a total of 251 hepatitis B surface antigen- (HBsAg-) positive women. INTERVENTION(S) None. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S) The seropositive rates of HBsAg in children at birth and HBV infection rates at 9-15 months of age. RESULT(S) Overall, 7.5% (23/305) of children were HBsAg-positive at birth. The rate of HBsAg-positive children at birth did not significantly differ between children in the assisted conception group compared with those in the natural conception group (6.3% [11/176] vs. 9.3% [12/129]). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that conception method is not related to the rate of HBsAg-positive children at birth. All children who were positive for HBsAg at birth and were followed up for 9-15 months became negative for HBsAg after hepatitis B immunization. CONCLUSION(S) Assisted conception does not increase the risk for mother-to-child transmission of HBV compared with natural conception.

Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb). New cases are now mainly caused by the progression of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). Thus, methods to diagnose and treat LTBI are urgently needed to prevent the development of active TB in infected individuals and the subsequent spread of the disease. In this study, a systems biology approach was utilized to obtain numerous microarray data sets for mRNAs and microRNAs (miRNAs) expressed in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of TB patients and individuals with LTBI. Within these data sets, we identified the differentially expressed mRNAs and miRNAs and further investigated which differentially expressed genes and miRNAs were uniquely expressed during LTBI. The Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID) was employed to analyze the functional annotations and pathway classifications of the identified genes. To further understand the unique miRNA-gene regulatory network of LTBI, we constructed a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network for the targeted genes. The PPI network included 39 genes that were differentially and uniquely expressed in PBMCs of individuals with LTBI, and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that these genes were predominantly involved in the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, which plays an important role in chronic inflammation. DIANA TOOLs-mirPath analysis revealed that the identified miRNAs in the miRNA-gene regulatory network for LTBI were mainly associated with the Hippo signaling pathway, which functions in the development of inflammation. Quantitative real-time PCR verified the up expression of hsa-miR-212-3p and its predicted target gene -MAPK1 which had low expression and was a major component of the PPI network, and MAPK1 expression was correlated with the clinicopathological characteristics of LTBI by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Therefore, MAPK1 has potential to be a new investigable marker during LTBI, which merits our further study and solution. The unique aberrant miRNA-gene regulatory network and the related PPI network identified in this study provide insight into the molecular mechanisms of the immune response to LTBI, and thus, may aid in the development of a novel treatment strategy.

Abstract
Abstract
Background: Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is a common complication of cerebrovascular disease. The A2DS2 score has been used to predict the risk of SAP. However, hyperglycemia is not included in this scale. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether combining the A2DS2 scoring system and hyperglycemia can improve the predictive value of the conventional A2DS2 scale for SAP.
Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 2,552 patients with acute ischemic stroke. The A2DS2 scores, fasting blood glucose level and blood glucose level on admission were collected. Regression analysis was used to identify the independent risk factors of SAP. ROC curve analysis was used to evaluate the specificity and sensitivity of the combined A2DS2 score and fasting hyperglycemia for predicting SAP.
Results: Fasting hyperglycemia was an independent risk factor for SAP (OR=2.95; 95% confidence interval: 2.11-4.12; P<0.001). The area under curve of the combined A2DS2 score and fasting hyperglycemia was significantly higher than that of the A2DS2 score alone (0.814 vs. 0.793; P=0.048).
Conclusion: Fasting hyperglycemia is an independent risk factor for predicting SAP. The predictive value of the modified A2DS2 score (combined A2DS2 score and fasting hyperglycemia) is superior to that of A2DS2 score.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to investigate the regulatory mechanism of local lymphatic reconstruction after cupping therapy in a mouse model. MATERIALS AND METHODS The lymphatic reconstruction process in the mouse tail after cupping therapy as well as the expression levels of the vascular endothelial identification molecule CD34, prospero homeobox protein 1 (PROX1), and lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronan receptor 1 (LYVE-1) were investigated for a duration of 4 days through immunohistochemistry experiments. RESULTS On day 1 after cupping therapy, the CD34+ and LYVE-1+ cell densities were significantly increased, and the formed CD34+LYVE-1+ tubular structure started to express PROX1. This was followed by a decrease in both the CD34+ and LYVE-1+ stem cell densities to basal levels on the second day after cupping therapy. Both the CD34+ and LYVE-1+ cell densities subsequently increased again on the third day after cupping therapy. The increase in the LYVE-1+ density was accompanied by tubular structure formation, which is characteristic of lymphangiogenesis. In addition, the colocalisation of CD34+ and LYVE-1+ cells by immunohistochemistry suggests that the CD34+ stem cells differentiated into new lymphatic endothelial cells. CONCLUSIONS Our findings indicate that the mechanism underlying the therapeutic effect of cupping therapy involves upregulation of vascular and lymphatic endothelial markers (CD34+, LYVE-1+, and CD34+LYVE-1+) in local tissues, which in turn promotes local new lymphatic vessel formation through the expression of PROX1.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Plantar heel pain syndrome(PHPS) is a common cause of heel pain. It may worsen a patient's quality of life, and potentially lead to knee, hip or lower back problems. Previous studies have shown that electroacupuncture (EA) and manual acupuncture (MA) are effective treatments for relieving pain in patients with PHPS. However, little evidence supports the use of one intervention over the other. METHODS AND ANALYSIS A total of 92 patients diagnosed with PHPS will be recruited and randomly assigned to an EA group or an MA group at a ratio of 1:1. Patients in both groups will receive a 30 min acupuncture treatment (three times per week) for a total of 12 sessions over 4 weeks. The primary outcome will be the proportion of patients with at least 50% reduction from baseline in the worst pain intensity measured by visual analogue scale (0-100, higher scores signify worse pain) at first steps in the morning after 4-week treatment. The secondary outcomes will include change in worst pain intensity at first steps in the morning, change in mean pain intensity at first steps in the morning, change in worst pain intensity during the day, change in mean pain intensity during the day, change in the pressure pain threshold, change in ankle-dorsiflexion range of motion, change in Foot and Ankle Ability Measure total score and subscale scores, patients' global improvement assessment, patients' expectations for acupuncture and safety evaluation. We will perform all statistical analysis following the intention-to-treat principle. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION The study has been approved by our ethics review board (Protocol Approval No. 2018-010-KY). The study findings will be disseminated through presentation at a high-impact medical journal, with online access. We also to plan to present it in select conferences and scientific meetings. Abstract
Salidroside (SDS) is a phenylpropanoid glycoside isolated from Rhodiola rosea L. It exhibits multiple pharmacological properties in clinical medicine and has been commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine. The present study investigated the inhibitory effects of SDS on tumor invasion and migration, and the expression of metastasis‑related genes in highly metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells (MHCC97H) in vitro. The underlying mechanisms of SDS on the tumor metastasis were also explored. SDS was found to significantly reduce wound closure areas and inhibit cell migration. In addition, SDS markedly inhibited the invasion of these cells into Matrigel‑coated membranes. SDS markedly downregulated the expression of Notch1, Snail, COX‑2, MMP‑2, MMP‑9 genes and upregulated the expression of E‑cadherin in a dose‑dependent manner. Furthermore, SDS inhibited the expression of the Notch signaling target genes, Hey1, Hes1 and Hes5. On the whole, the findings of this study suggest that SDS inhibits HCC cell metastasis by modulating the activity of the Notch1 signaling pathway.

Abstract
RATIONALE Accidental tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration (FBA) is one of the diseases with the highest morbidity and mortality in early childhood. A history of aspiration is very important for diagnosis, as sometimes there are no abnormalities in the physical examination of the patient. Parental negligence and inappropriate treatment may be important reasons for the delay in diagnosis. We describe 2 cases of misdiagnosed children with an unclear history of aspiration. PATIENT CONCERNS A 5-year-old boy, who fell out of bed when sucking pistachios and landed on his neck, was initially diagnosed as a closed injury of the larynx. An 18-month-old girl, who developed a cough and difficulty breathing after she fell to the ground surrounded by many corn grains. DIAGNOSIS Bronchoscopy examination confirmed the diagnosis of tracheobronchial foreign bodies. INTERVENTIONS The foreign bodies were removed by bronchoscopy examination. OUTCOMES Both patients were discharged after removal of the foreign bodies and antibiotic treatment. LESSONS Aspiration history is crucial for the correct diagnosis of FBA, and lack of history may lead to the misdiagnosis of FBA. Parents should be educated to increase their awareness of tracheobronchial FBA, and avoid providing their children with small objects that can potentially block the airways. When FBA is suspected, the child should be sent to a hospital immediately. Diagnostic rigid bronchoscopy is recommended.

Abstract
Opa interacting protein 5 (OIP5) overexpression is associated with human carcinoma. However, its biological function, underlying mechanism and clinical significance in liver cancer remain unknown. In the present study, the effects of OIP5 expression on liver cancer, and the mechanisms regulating these effects, were investigated. OIP5 expression was measured in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues and liver cancer cell lines. The effect of OIP5 knockdown on tumorigenesis was also detected in nude mice, and differentially‑expressed genes (DEGs) were identified and their biological functions were identified. The results indicated that OIP5 expression was significantly upregulated in HCC tissues and four liver cancer cell lines (P<0.01). Increased OIP5 protein expression significantly predicted reduced survival rate of patients with HCC (P<0.01). OIP5 knockdown resulted in the suppression of proliferation and colony forming abilities, cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 or G2/M phases, and promotion of cell apoptosis. A total of 628 DEGs, including 87 upregulated and 541 downregulated genes, were identified following OIP5 knockdown. Functional enrichment analysis indicated that DEGs were involved in 'RNA Post‑Transcriptional Modification, Cancer and Organismal Injury and Abnormalities'. Finally, OIP5 knockdown in Huh7 cells dysregulated bone morphogenetic protein receptor type 2/JUN/checkpoint kinase 1/Rac family small GTPase 1 expression. In conclusion, the overall results demonstrated the involvement of OIP5 in the progression of liver cancer and its mechanism of action.
