Abstract
Objective: To analyze the efficacy and feasibility of performing a new surgical procedure, tunnel esophagogastrostomy, to perform proximal gastrectomy. Methods: The study cohort comprised 10 consecutive patients who had undergone esophagogastrostomy by the tunnel technique in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital between October 2019 and July 2022. All patients were male. Their average age was (64.2±8.1) years and body mass index (25.5±3.2) kg/m2. Nine had upper gastric body adenocarcinoma, the remaining one having signet ring cell carcinoma. TNM staging of the tumors showed that seven were Stage IA, one Stage IB, one Stage IIA, and one Stage IIIA. Briefly, tunnel esophagogastrostomy is performed as follows: After performing a proximal gastrectomy, a rectangular seromuscular flap (3.0 cm × 3.5 cm) is created. The posterior esophageal wall is sutured to the gastric wall at the orad end of the seromuscular flap 5 cm from the stump with three to four stitches. Next, the stump of the esophagus is opened, the posterior esophageal wall is sutured to the gastric mucosa and submucosa, and the anterior esophageal wall is sutured to the full layer of the stomach. Finally, the caudad end of the seromuscular flap is closed. Data on surgical safety, postoperative morbidity, and postoperative reflux esophagitis were analyzed. All enrolled patients completed endoscopic follow-up 1 year and 2 years after surgery. Results: All procedures were completed. They comprised four cases of laparoscopic assisted surgery, four of DaVinci robotic surgery, and two of open surgery. The mean operation time was 212.7±33.2 mins, mean anastomosis time (51.6±5.3) minutes, mean tunnel preparation time (20.0±3.5) minutes, and mean operative blood loss (90.0±51.6) mL. The time to first postoperative passage of flatus was (64.8±11.5) hours. The mean hospital stay after surgery was (9.2±1.7) days. There were no postoperative complications above Clavien-Dindo Grade II. The mean preoperative Reflux Disease Questionnaire score was (3.3± 0.4) before the surgery, (3.8±1.0) 1 month postoperatively, and (3.3±0.4) 12 months postoperatively. All patients underwent endoscopic follow-up; no anastomotic stenoses were found. However, one patient had Grade A reflux esophagitis 1 year after surgery and another Grade B reflux esophagitis 2 years after surgery. Conclusion: Esophagogastrostomy by the tunnel technique is a safe and feasible means of performing proximal gastrectomy.

ZHONGHUA ZHONG LIU ZA ZHI [CHINESE JOURNAL OF ONCOLOGY] 2024; 46:948-953. [PMID: 39414595 DOI: 10.3760/cma.j.cn112152-20231020-00208] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [MESH Headings] [Grants] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 10/18/2024]
Abstract
Objective: Analyze the cancer screening status of the cancer screening program in urban areas in Shaanxi province in 2019-2020. Methods: The early diagnosis and early treatment project for urban cancers carried out high-risk population screening for 5 types of high-incidence malignant tumors (breast cancer, lung cancer, upper gastrointestinal cancer, liver cancer, and colorectal cancer) in urban areas. Three prefecture-level cities in Shaanxi province with a population of over 1 million (Xi'an, Baoji, and Shangluo) were selected, and 4 communities with a relatively good working foundation were selected in each city. The general population aged 45-74 years was surveyed on the principles of informed consent and voluntariness, and high-risk groups identified through the questionnaire were further subjected to free endoscopy, ultrasound, CT, and other clinical screenings. The high-risk rates, screening compliance rates, and positive detection rates of the above 5 types of malignant tumors were analyzed. Results: A total of 19 632 people completed the survey effectively, with the proportion of male participants (40.0%) lower than that of females (60.0%). A total of 10 102 high-risk groups were identified, with an initial screening high-risk rate of 51.5%, and the high-risk rates for the 5 types of cancers were 24.1% for breast cancer, 28.6% for lung cancer, 9.1% for upper gastrointestinal cancer, 4.0% for liver cancer, and 20.0% for colorectal cancer. Among the 14 960 person-time initially assessed as high-risk, 5 129 person-time received clinical screening, with a screening compliance rate of 34.3%. The number of people receiving clinical screening and the screening compliance rates for the 5 types of cancers were 1 192 (41.9%) for breast cancer, 2 081 (37.1%) for lung cancer, 574 (32.0%) for upper gastrointestinal cancer, 404 (51.3%) for liver cancer, and 878 (22.3%) for colorectal cancer, with positive detection numbers and rates of 179 (15.0%) for breast, 289 (13.9%) for lung, 9 (1.6%) for upper gastrointestinal, 14 (3.5%) for suspected liver, and 67 (7.6%) for colorectal, respectively. Conclusion: The cancer screening status of the cancer screening program in urban areas in Shaanxi province is beneficial for the detection of precancerous lesions and early cancer patients, and improving the early diagnosis and treatment rate of patients, but the public participation rate is not high, and the project management model and technical plan need to be further improved.

Abstract
One of the fundamental goals of particle physics is to gain a microscopic understanding of the strong interaction. Electromagnetic form factors quantify the structure of hadrons in terms of charge and magnetization distributions. While the nucleon structure has been investigated extensively, data on hyperons are still scarce. It has recently been demonstrated that electron-positron annihilations into hyperon-antihyperon pairs provide a powerful tool to investigate their inner structure. We present a method useful for hyperon-antihyperon pairs of different types which exploits the cross section enhancement due to the effect of vacuum polarization at the J/ψ resonance. Using the 10 billion J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, this allows a precise determination of the hyperon structure function. The result is essentially a precise snapshot of theΛ ¯ Σ 0 ( Λ Σ ¯ 0 ) transition process, encoded in the transition form factor ratio and phase. Their values are measured to be R = 0.860 ± 0.029(stat.) ± 0.015(syst.), Δ Φ Λ ¯ Σ 0 = ( 1.011 ± 0.094 ( stat. ) ± 0.010 ( syst. ) ) r a d and Δ Φ Λ Σ ¯ 0 = ( 2.128 ± 0.094 ( stat. ) ± 0.010 ( syst. ) ) r a d . Furthermore, charge-parity (CP) breaking is investigated in this reaction and found to be consistent with CP symmetry.

Integrated GWAS and transcriptome analysis reveals key genes associated with muscle fibre and fat traits in Gushi chicken. Br Poult Sci 2024:1-11. [PMID: 39364777 DOI: 10.1080/00071668.2024.2400685] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 02/07/2024] [Accepted: 05/13/2024] [Indexed: 10/05/2024]
Abstract
1. In the following experiment meat quality traits of a Gushi-Anka F2 resource population were measured, and their heritability estimated. Intramuscular fat (IMF) had medium heritability (0.35) but leg muscle fibre density (LMD), leg muscle fibre diameter (LMF), breast muscle fibre density (BMD), fresh fat content (FFA), and absolute dry fat content (AFC) had low heritability (0-0.2). The IMF presented the most important genetic additive effect among the poultry meat quality-related traits studied.2. The phenotypic data of meat quality traits in the Gushi-Anka F2 resource population were combined with genotyping by sequencing (GBS) data to obtain genotype data. Six meat quality traits in 734 birds were analysed by GWAS. Based on these variants, 83 significant (-log10(p) > 4.42) single nucleotide polymorphisms and four quantitative trait loci (QTL) regions corresponding to 175 genes were identified. Further linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis was conducted on chromosome 13 (Chr13) and chromosome 27 (Chr27) QTL regions.3. Based on the transcriptome data and GWAS results, 12 shared genes - ITGB3, DNAJC27, ETV4, C7orf50, FKBP1B, G3BP1, IGF2BP1, KCNH6, LOC416263, SCARA5, SMIM5 and TBL1XR1 were identified as candidate genes influencing muscle fibre and fat traits.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the prognosis efficacy of psycho-cardiological therapy and management on patients with coronary atherosclerosis disease (CAD). Methods: This was a clinical randomized controlled study. This study included inpatients with CAD at the cardiology department in Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University from August 2021 to January 2024. The patients enrolled in this study were asked for basic information, and received measurements for depression, anxiety, sleep quality and living quality by the scales of Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), General Anxiety Disorder scale-7 (GAD-7), Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS), EuroQol 5-dimension 5-level (EQ-5D-5L) respectively. The patients were randomly grouped into a regular treatment group and a psycho-cardiological treatment group which included WeChat management or antidepressant/antianxiety medical therapy according to the situation. After the patients discharging from hospital for 2, 4, 12, 24, 48, 72, and 96 weeks, professional cardiovascular doctors would follow up by telephone, WeChat, and outpatient department, including scales (2-48 weeks), and cardiac events (2-96 weeks). Kaplan-Meier survival curve and multivariate Cox proportional hazards model were used for analyzing the association between psycho-cardiological treatment and cardiac events. Results: This study recruited a total of 552 patients with CAD, aged 61.0(54.0, 67.0) years, and 379 (68.7%) were male. There were 279(50.5%) in the regular treatment group and 273(49.5%) in the psycho-cardiological treatment group. After treatment for 4, 12 and 48 weeks, the PHQ-9 score in psycho-cardiological was significantly lower than the regular treatment group; After treatment for 12 weeks, the EQ-5D-5L effective value in psycho-cardiological group was higher than the regular treatment group; After treatment for 2, 4, 12, 24 and 48 weeks, the EQ-5D-5L VAS score in psycho-cardiological group was higher than the regular therapy group (all P<0.05). The Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed that, during the different follow-up periods, the rate of cardiac events in psycho-cardiological treatment group was lower than regular treatment group (log-rank P<0.001). The multivariate Cox proportional hazards model adjusted the factor of age, the psycho-cardiological treatment contributed to reducing the cardiac events rate by 80.3% (HR=0.197, 95%CI: 0.067-0.582, P=0.003). Conclusion: Psycho-cardiological treatment is beneficial for improving psychological stress, living quality, and reducing cardiac events, and helps to improve prognosis and psycho-cardiological rehabilitation in CAD patients.

Strong and Weak CP Tests in Sequential Decays of Polarized Σ^{0} Hyperons. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 133:101902. Abstract
The J/ψ, ψ(3686)→Σ^{0}Σ[over ¯]^{0} processes and subsequent decays are studied using the world's largest J/ψ and ψ(3686) data samples collected with the BESIII detector. The parity-violating decay parameters of the decays Σ^{0}→Λγ and Σ[over ¯]^{0}→Λ[over ¯]γ, α_{Σ^{0}}=-0.0017±0.0021±0.0018 and α[over ¯]_{Σ^{0}}=0.0021±0.0020±0.0022, are measured for the first time. The strong CP symmetry is tested in the decays of the Σ^{0} hyperons for the first time by measuring the asymmetry A_{CP}^{Σ}=α_{Σ^{0}}+α[over ¯]_{Σ^{0}}=(0.4±2.9±1.3)×10^{-3}. The weak CP test is performed in the subsequent decays of their daughter particles Λ and Λ[over ¯]. Also for the first time, the transverse polarizations of the Σ^{0} hyperons in J/ψ and ψ(3686) decays are observed with opposite directions, and the ratios between the S-wave and D-wave contributions of the J/ψ, ψ(3686)→Σ^{0}Σ[over ¯]^{0} decays are obtained. These results are crucial to understand the decay dynamics of the charmonium states and the production mechanism of the Σ^{0}-Σ[over ¯]^{0} pairs.

Durable benefit from poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors in metastatic prostate cancer in routine practice: biomarker associations and implications for optimal clinical next-generation sequencing testing. Abstract
BACKGROUND Controlled trials have consistently demonstrated the efficacy of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPis) in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and BRCA1 or BRCA2 alterations (BRCAalt). However, the reported efficacy of PARPi for alterations in other homologous recombination repair (HRR) genes is less consistent. We sought to evaluate the routine practice effectiveness of PARPi between and within these groups. DESIGN Patient-level data from a deidentified nationwide (USA-based) cancer clinico-genomic database between January 2011 and September 2023 were extracted. Patients with mCRPC and comprehensive genomic profiling by liquid biopsy [circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)] or tissue (tumor) biopsy and who received single-agent PARPi were included and grouped by BRCAalt, ATMalt, other HRR, or no HRR. We further subcategorized BRCAalt into homozygous loss (BRCAloss) and all other deleterious BRCAalt (otherBRCAalt). RESULTS A total of 445 patients met inclusion criteria: 214 with tumor and 231 with ctDNA. BRCAalt had more favorable outcomes to PARPi compared with ATM, other HRR, and no HRR groups. Within the BRCAalt subgroup, compared with other BRCAalt, BRCAloss had a more favorable time to next treatment (median 9 versus 19.4 months, P = 0.005), time to treatment discontinuation (median 8 versus 14 months, P = 0.006), and routine practice overall survival (median 14.7 versus 19.4 months, P = 0.016). Tumor BRCAloss prevalence (3.1%) was similar to ctDNA prevalence in liquid biopsy specimens with high tumor fraction (>20%). BRCAloss was not detected in orthogonal germline testing. CONCLUSIONS PARPi routine practice effectiveness between groups mirrors prospective trials. Within the BRCAalt group, BRCAloss had the best outcomes. Unless the ctDNA tumor fraction is very high, somatic tissue testing (archival or metastatic) should be prioritized to identify patients who may benefit most from PARPi. When tissue testing is not clinically feasible, sufficient ctDNA tumor fraction levels for detection are enriched at clinical timepoints associated with tumor progression.

Abstract
Recent efforts to chart human brain growth across the lifespan using large-scale MRI data have provided reference standards for human brain development. However, similar models for nonhuman primate (NHP) growth are lacking. The rhesus macaque, a widely used NHP in translational neuroscience due to its similarities in brain anatomy, phylogenetics, cognitive, and social behaviors to humans, serves as an ideal NHP model. This study aimed to create normative growth charts for brain structure across the macaque lifespan, enhancing our understanding of neurodevelopment and aging, and facilitating cross-species translational research. Leveraging data from the PRIMatE Data Exchange (PRIME-DE) and other sources, we aggregated 1,522 MRI scans from 1,024 rhesus macaques. We mapped non-linear developmental trajectories for global and regional brain structural changes in volume, cortical thickness, and surface area over the lifespan. Our findings provided normative charts with centile scores for macaque brain structures and revealed key developmental milestones from prenatal stages to aging, highlighting both species-specific and comparable brain maturation patterns between macaques and humans. The charts offer a valuable resource for future NHP studies, particularly those with small sample sizes. Furthermore, the interactive open resource (https://interspeciesmap.childmind.org) supports cross-species comparisons to advance translational neuroscience research.

Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.80 to 4.95 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20 fb^{-1}, a measurement of Born cross sections for the e^{+}e^{-}→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0} and D^{+}D^{-} processes is presented with unprecedented precision. Many clear peaks in the line shape of e^{+}e^{-}→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0} and D^{+}D^{-} around the mass range of G(3900), ψ(4040), ψ(4160), Y(4260), and ψ(4415), etc., are foreseen. These results offer crucial experimental insights into the nature of hadron production in the open-charm region.

Abstract
Objective: This study evaluates the agreement between a new low-load sleep monitoring system, QSA600, based on millimeter-wave radar technology, and polysomnography (PSG) in diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Methods: A total of 155 subjects were recruited for a parallel agreement study in the sleep laboratory of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital from July to September 2023. The subjects underwent simultaneous monitoring with both PSG and the QSA600 system. One hundred and forty-five subjects consisting of 75 males and 70 females included in the final analysis, with an average age of (35.30±12.41) years, an average height of (168.23±8.08) cm, and an average weight of (68.28±13.74) kg. The subjects were divided into four groups based on the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI): <5.0 events/h (non-OSA group, 39 cases), ≥5.0-<15.0 events/h (mild OSA group, 47 cases), ≥15.0-<30.0 events/h (moderate OSA group, 25 cases), and≥30.0 events/h (severe OSA group, 34 cases). Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC), Pearson correlation coefficients (r), and Bland-Altman analysis were employed to assess the agreement between the two monitoring techniques regarding AHI and other parameters. Sensitivity and specificity of the QSA600 in diagnosing OSA were evaluated at different AHI thresholds. Statistical analyses were conducted using MATLAB R2022a. Results: Using AHI 5 events/h, 15 events/h and 30 events/h as thresholds, the sensitivity for diagnosing mild, moderate, and severe OSA was 88.68%, 89.83% and 97.06%, respectively. The specificity was 94.87%, 98.84% and 99.10%, respectively. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was 0.973 4, 0.990 9 and 0.999 5, respectively. The comparison of key indicators between QSA600 and PSG diagnostic results revealed:a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.987 2(P<0.001) between the AHI measurement values. The mean difference between the Bland-Altman measurement values of the two was -1.43(95%CI:-8.74-5.88) events/h and the ICC between the two was 0.985 0(95%CI: 0.975 4-0.990 4). Conclusions: As a new low-load sleep monitoring system, QSA600 demonstrates high concordance with traditional PSG in diagnosing OSA and stratifying its severity, which has promising potential for clinical application. Abstract
1. Melanin distribution typically exhibits a gradient dilution along the dorsal-ventral axis of the body, including in domestic geese. However, the specific genes and molecular mechanisms responsible for this melanin distribution pattern remain incompletely understood.2. The transcriptomic comparisons were conducted at three embryonic stages, specifically on embryonic d 15 (E15), 22 (E22), and 29 (E29), between the pigmented dorsal skin and the depigmented distal foot.3. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with melanin synthesis were identified, particularly TYR, TYRP1, and EDNRB2, which exhibited significantly higher expression levels in the dorsal skin at E15 and E22. However, expression levels significantly decreased in later stages (E29).4. The ASIP gene showed remarkably high-expression levels in the distal feet compared to the dorsal skin post-E22 stage (log2FC: 5.31/6.88 at E22/E29). Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment analysis detected eight terms associated with melanin synthesis and melanosome formation (p < 0.05), including melanosome membrane (GO: 0033162) and melanin biosynthetic process (GO: 0042438). Additionally, KEGG pathway analysis showed significant enrichment of the melanogenesis pathway (hsa004916) at d 22 (E22).

Abstract
Tamarix ramosissima has an important role in stabilizing sand dunes in desert ecosystems. Understanding the water use strategies of T. ramosissima is essential to understand its adaptations on coppice dunes. We utilized the stable isotopes δ2H and δ18O in soil water, groundwater, and xylem water to identify monthly differences in water sources. Additionally. we explored rooting depth using 2H2O as an artificial tracer. In May, T. ramosissima derived 75% of its water from shallow and middle soil layers. In July, it absorbed 90% water from middle and deep soil layers. In August and September, it acquired approximately 80% of its water from deep soil layers. The labelling using 2H as an artificial tracer indicated that the root system of T. ramosissima could reach depths >500 cm in the coppice dunes. 2H absorption was observed at depths of 100, 200, 300 and 400 cm. Soil water is the dominant water source for T. ramosissima in the coppice dunes because groundwater is at depths >30 m. The flexible water-use strategies of T. ramosissima enable it to effectively utilize different available water sources to adapt to the arid environment. These findings improve our understanding of water uptake patterns and drought adaptation strategies of T. ramosissima in the coppice dunes of desert ecosystems.

Measurements of Normalized Differential Cross Sections of Inclusive η Production in e^{+}e^{-} Annihilation at Energy from 2.0000 to 3.6710 GeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 133:021901. Abstract
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, the cross section of the inclusive process e^{+}e^{-}→η+X, normalized by the total cross section of e^{+}e^{-}→hadrons, is measured at eight center-of-mass energy points from 2.0000 to 3.6710 GeV. These are the first measurements with momentum dependence in this energy region. Our measurement shows a significant discrepancy compared to the existing fragmentation functions. To address this discrepancy, a new QCD analysis is performed at the next-to-next-to-leading order with hadron mass corrections and higher twist effects, which can explain both the established high-energy data and our measurements reasonably well.

Abstract
Background Somatostatin receptors, and specifically somatostatin receptor type 2 (SSTR2), have primarily been associated with neuroendocrine tumors and have revolutionized the imaging and therapy of patients with these tumors. SSTR2 is expressed on other tumors at lower prevalence. Purpose To evaluate the potential of SSTR2-targeted imaging and therapy in patients with breast cancer. Materials and Methods In a preclinical experiment, SSTR2 expression was assessed in tissue microarrays of breast cancer samples using H-score analysis. H-scores higher than 50 (0-300 scale) were considered positive. Then, a prospective phase 2 clinical trial of SSTR2-targeted tetraazacyclododecane tetraacetic acid octreotate (Dotatate) PET/CT was performed in participants with biopsy-proven estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancer from January to August 2023. A positive Dotatate PET/CT scan was defined as tumors with a Krenning score of 3 (avidity greater than liver) or 4 (avidity greater than spleen). The proportion of positive scans and the 95% CI were calculated. One participant with metastatic ER-positive breast cancer and a Krenning 4 Dotatate PET/CT result underwent treatment with SSTR2-targeted actinium 225 (225Ac) Dotatate. Results Preclinical microarrays demonstrated that 63 of 123 ER-positive breast cancer tissue samples (51% [95% CI: 42, 60]) but only 22 of 121 ER-negative breast cancer tissue samples (18% [95% CI: 12, 26]) were enriched for SSTR2 (P < .001). Thirty female participants (mean age, 66 years ± 15) with metastatic ER-positive breast cancer were accrued to the phase 2 SSTR2-targeted imaging trial and underwent Dotatate PET/CT. Dotatate PET/CT demonstrated that nine of 30 participants (30% [95% CI: 15, 49]) had tumors with Krenning scores of 3 or 4, indicating strong SSTR2 expression. SSTR2-targeted therapy with alpha-emitting 225Ac-Dotatate resulted in a near complete response in a heavily pretreated participant with metastatic ER-positive breast cancer and a Krenning 4 Dotatate PET result. Conclusion Molecular imaging targeting SSTR2 and radioligand therapy with SSTR2-targeted 225Ac-Dotatate enables a new therapeutic option for patients with metastatic breast cancer. Abstract
Using (10.087±0.044)×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, the processes Λp→Λp and Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p are studied, where the Λ/Λ[over ¯] baryons are produced in the process J/ψ→ΛΛ[over ¯] and the protons are the hydrogen nuclei in the cooling oil of the beam pipe. Clear signals are observed for the two reactions. The cross sections in -0.9≤cosθ_{Λ/Λ[over ¯]}≤0.9 are measured to be σ(Λp→Λp)=(12.2±1.6_{stat}±1.1_{syst}) and σ(Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p)=(17.5±2.1_{stat}±1.6_{syst}) mb at the Λ/Λ[over ¯] momentum of 1.074 GeV/c within a range of ±0.017 GeV/c, where the θ_{Λ/Λ[over ¯]} are the scattering angles of the Λ/Λ[over ¯] in the Λp/Λ[over ¯]p rest frames. Furthermore, the differential cross sections of the two reactions are also measured, where there is a slight tendency of forward scattering for Λp→Λp, and a strong forward peak for Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p. We present an approach to extract the total elastic cross sections by extrapolation. The study of Λ[over ¯]p→Λ[over ¯]p represents the first study of antihyperon-nucleon scattering, and these new measurements will serve as important inputs for the theoretical understanding of the (anti)hyperon-nucleon interaction.

Abstract
Inflammation plays a crucial role in progression of fibrosis. Epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EET) have multiple protective effects in different diseases, but their ability to inhibit the development of LPS-induced fibrosis remains unknown. The potential therapeutic effects of 11,12-EET were studied in in vitro model of LPS-induced fibrosis. Mouse embryonic fibroblast cells NIH/3T3 were pre-incubated with 1 μM 11,12-EET and/or a structural analogue and selective EET antagonist 14,15-epoxyeicosa-5(Z)-enoic acid before exposing to LPS. The effect of EET was evaluated by the protein and mRNA expression of NF-κB, collagens I and III, and α-smooth muscle actin by Western blotting and quantitative reverse transcription PCR, respectively. LPS provoked inflammation and fibrosis-like changes accompanied by elevated expression of NF-κB and collagens in NIH/3T3 cells. We also studied the effects of 11,12-EET on the A2AR and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways in intact and LPS-treated NIH/3T3 cells. 11,12-EET prevented inflammation and fibrosis-like changes through up-regulation of A2AR and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways. Our findings demonstrate the potential antifibrotic effects of 11,12-EET, which can be natural antagonists of tissue fibrosis.

First Observation of a Three-Resonance Structure in e^{+}e^{-}→Nonopen Charm Hadrons. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:191902. Abstract
We report the measurement of the inclusive cross sections for e^{+}e^{-}→nOCH (where nOCH denotes non-open charm hadrons) with improved precision at center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We observe three resonances: R(3760), R(3780), and R(3810) with significances of 8.1σ, 13.7σ, and 8.8σ, respectively. The R(3810) state is observed for the first time, while the R(3760) and R(3780) states are observed for the first time in the nOCH cross sections. Two sets of resonance parameters describe the energy-dependent line shape of the cross sections well. In set I [set II], the R(3810) state has mass (3805.7±1.1±2.7) [(3805.7±1.1±2.7)] MeV/c^{2}, total width (11.6±2.9±1.9) [(11.5±2.8±1.9)] MeV, and an electronic width multiplied by the nOCH decay branching fraction of (10.9±3.8±2.5) [(11.0±3.4±2.5)] eV. In addition, we measure the branching fractions B[R(3760)→nOCH]=(25.2±16.1±30.4)%[(6.4±4.8±7.7)%] and B[R(3780)→nOCH]=(12.3±6.6±8.3)%[(10.4±4.8±7.0)%] for the first time. The R(3760) state can be interpreted as an open-charm (OC) molecular state, but containing a simple four-quark state component. The R(3810) state can be interpreted as a hadrocharmonium state.

Abstract
Based on (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→γK_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0}η^{'} is performed. The mass and width of the X(2370) are measured to be 2395±11(stat)_{-94}^{+26}(syst) MeV/c^{2} and 188_{-17}^{+18}(stat)_{-33}^{+124}(syst) MeV, respectively. The corresponding product branching fraction is B[J/ψ→γX(2370)]×B[X(2370)→f_{0}(980)η^{'}]×B[f_{0}(980)→K_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0}]=(1.31±0.22(stat)_{-0.84}^{+2.85}(syst))×10^{-5}. The statistical significance of the X(2370) is greater than 11.7σ and the spin parity is determined to be 0^{-+} for the first time. The measured mass and spin parity of the X(2370) are consistent with the predictions of the lightest pseudoscalar glueball.

Observation of Structures in the Processes e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ_{c1} and ωχ_{c2}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:161901. [PMID: 38701481 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.132.161901] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 01/26/2024] [Revised: 03/13/2024] [Accepted: 03/22/2024] [Indexed: 05/05/2024]
Abstract
We present measurements of the Born cross sections for the processes e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ_{c1} and ωχ_{c2} at center-of-mass energies sqrt[s] from 4.308 to 4.951 GeV. The measurements are performed with data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.0 fb^{-1} collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider storage ring. Assuming the e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ_{c2} signals come from a single resonance, the mass and width are determined to be M=(4413.6±9.0±0.8) MeV/c^{2} and Γ=(110.5±15.0±2.9) MeV, respectively, which is consistent with the parameters of the well-established resonance ψ(4415). In addition, we also use one single resonance to describe the e^{+}e^{-}→ωχ_{c1} line shape and determine the mass and width to be M=(4544.2±18.7±1.7) MeV/c^{2} and Γ=(116.1±33.5±1.7) MeV, respectively. The structure of this line shape, observed for the first time, requires further understanding.

Coupled-Channel Analysis of the χ_{c1}(3872) Line Shape with BESIII Data. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:151903. [PMID: 38682963 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.132.151903] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 09/05/2023] [Revised: 01/03/2024] [Accepted: 03/11/2024] [Indexed: 05/01/2024]
Abstract
We perform a study of the χ_{c1}(3872) line shape using the data samples of e^{+}e^{-}→γχ_{c1}(3872), χ_{c1}(3872)→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0}π^{0}, and π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ collected with the BESIII detector. The effects of the coupled channels and the off-shell D^{*0} are included in the parametrization of the line shape. The line shape mass parameter is obtained to be M_{X}=(3871.63±0.13_{-0.05}^{+0.06}) MeV. Two poles are found on the first and second Riemann sheets corresponding to the D^{*0}D[over ¯]^{0} branch cut. The pole location on the first sheet is much closer to the D^{*0}D[over ¯]^{0} threshold than the other, and is determined to be 7.04±0.15_{-0.08}^{+0.07} MeV above the D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0}π^{0} threshold with an imaginary part -0.19±0.08_{-0.19}^{+0.14} MeV.

Observation of the Anomalous Shape of X(1840) in J/ψ→γ3(π^{+}π^{-}) Indicating a Second Resonance Near pp[over ¯] Threshold. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2024; 132:151901. [PMID: 38682972 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.132.151901] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 11/02/2023] [Revised: 01/16/2024] [Accepted: 02/23/2024] [Indexed: 05/01/2024]
Abstract
Using a sample of (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events, which is about 45 times larger than that was previously analyzed, a further investigation on the J/ψ→γ3(π^{+}π^{-}) decay is performed. A significant distortion at 1.84 GeV/c^{2} in the line shape of the 3(π^{+}π^{-}) invariant mass spectrum is observed for the first time, which could be resolved by two overlapping resonant structures, X(1840) and X(1880). The new state X(1880) is observed with a statistical significance larger than 10σ. The mass and width of X(1880) are determined to be 1882.1±1.7±0.7 MeV/c^{2} and 30.7±5.5±2.4 MeV, respectively, which indicates the existence of a pp[over ¯] bound state.

Abstract
Using e^{+}e^{-} collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.33 fb^{-1} recorded by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV, we present an analysis of the decay D_{s}^{+}→π^{+}π^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}, where the D_{s}^{+} is produced via the process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{*±}D_{s}^{∓}. We observe the f_{0}(980) in the π^{+}π^{-} system and the branching fraction of the decay D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(980)e^{+}ν_{e} with f_{0}(980)→π^{+}π^{-} measured to be (1.72±0.13_{stat}±0.10_{syst})×10^{-3}, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The dynamics of the D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(980)e^{+}ν_{e} decay are studied with the simple pole parametrization of the hadronic form factor and the Flatté formula describing the f_{0}(980) in the differential decay rate, and the product of the form factor f_{+}^{f_{0}}(0) and the c→s Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V_{cs}| is determined for the first time to be f_{+}^{f_{0}}(0)|V_{cs}|=0.504±0.017_{stat}±0.035_{syst}. Furthermore, the decay D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(500)e^{+}ν_{e} is searched for the first time but no signal is found. The upper limit on the branching fraction of D_{s}^{+}→f_{0}(500)e^{+}ν_{e}, f_{0}(500)→π^{+}π^{-} decay is set to be 3.3×10^{-4} at 90% confidence level.
