Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to determine whether implementing a rapid response system (RRS) is associated with improved short-term outcomes in critically ill patients with haematological malignancies. METHODS Our monocentric pre- versus post-intervention study was conducted between January 2012 and April 2020. RRS was activated at early signs of haemodynamic or respiratory failure. The primary outcome was the reduction in Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score on Day 3 after intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Secondary outcomes included time to ICU admission and mortality. RESULTS A total of 209 patients with a median age of 59 years were enrolled (108 in the pre-intervention period and 101 in the post-intervention period). 22% of them had received an allogeneic transplant. The post-intervention period was associated with a shorter time to ICU admission (195 vs. 390 min, p < .001), a more frequent favourable trend in SOFA score (57% vs. 42%, adjusted odds ratio, 2.02, 95% confidence interval, 1.09 to 3.76), no significant changes in ICU (22% vs. 26%, p = .48) and 1-year (62% vs. 58%, p = .62) mortality rates. CONCLUSION Detection of early organ failure and activation of an RRS was associated with faster ICU admission and lower SOFA scores on Day 3 of admission in critically ill patients with haematological malignancies.

Abstract
Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are promising candidates for ultrathin functional semiconductor devices. In particular, incorporating plasmonic nanoparticles into TMD-based devices enhances the light-matter interaction for increased absorption efficiency and enables control of device performance such as electronic, electrical, and optical properties. In this heterohybrid structure, manipulating the number of TMD layers and the aggregate size of plasmonic nanoparticles is a straightforward approach to tailoring device performance. In this study, we use photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, which is a commonly employed technique for monitoring device performance, to analyze the changes in electronic and optical properties depending on the number of MoS2 layers and the size of the gold nanoparticle (AuNP) aggregate under nonresonant and resonant excitation conditions. The PL intensity in monolayer MoS2/AuNPs increases as the size of aggregates increases irrespective of the excitation conditions. The strain induced by AuNPs causes a red shift, but as the aggregates grow larger, the effect of p-doping increases and the blue shift becomes prominent. In multilayer MoS2/AuNPs, quenched PL intensity is observed under nonresonant excitation, while enhancement is noted under resonant excitation, which is mainly contributed by p-doping and LSPR, respectively. Remarkably, the alteration in the spectral shape due to resonant excitation is evident solely in small aggregates of AuNPs across all layers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES There is limited data on the effects of discontinuing single-room isolation while maintaining contact precautions, such as the use of gowns and gloves. In April 2021, our hospital ceased single-room isolation for patients with vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) because of single-room unavailability. This study assessed the impact of this policy by examining the incidence of hospital-acquired VRE bloodstream infections (HA-VRE BSI). METHODS This retrospective quasi-experimental study was conducted at a tertiary-care hospital in Seoul, South Korea. Time-series analysis was used to evaluate HA-VRE BSI incidence at the hospital level and in the haematology unit before (phase 1) and after (phase 2) the policy change. RESULTS At the hospital level, HA-VRE BSI incidence level (VRE BSI per 1000 patient-days per month) and trend did not change significantly between phase 1 and phase 2 (coefficient -0.015, 95% confidence interval (CI): -0.053 to 0.023, P=0.45 and 0.000, 95% CI: -0.002 to 0.002, P=0.84, respectively). Similarly, HA-VRE BSI incidence level and trend in the haematology unit (-0.285, 95% CI: -0.618 to 0.048, P=0.09 and -0.018, 95% CI: -0.036 to 0.000, P = 0.054, respectively) did not change significantly across the two phases. CONCLUSIONS Discontinuing single-room isolation of VRE-colonized or infected patients was not associated with an increase in the incidence of VRE BSI at the hospital level or among high-risk patients in the haematology unit. Horizontal intervention for multi-drug-resistant organisms, including measures such as enhanced hand hygiene and environmental cleaning, may be more effective at preventing VRE transmission.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To examine the associations between food insecurity and health, access to care, affordability of care, financial burden of care, and financial hardships among US adults during the COVID-19 pandemic and examine whether the associations were less pronounced among adults with safety nets. STUDY DESIGN We conducted a retrospective longitudinal cohort study using the 2020-2021 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey. METHODS Linear probability models were used to assess the associations between food insecurity in one year and the outcomes of interest in the following year while adjusting for baseline characteristics. We performed the analyses for the entire population and then conducted stratified analyses for adults with and without Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits or Medicaid coverage. RESULTS Compared with food-secure adults, food-insecure adults were 9.1 percentage points less likely to report life satisfaction and 9.9, 10.2, and 13.2 percentage points more likely to experience delays in getting medical care, postpone or forgo medical care because of cost, and struggle with paying medical bills. Food-insecure adults were 30.4, 27.2, and 23.5 percentage points more likely to face challenges in affording necessities, paying utility bills, and meeting rent or mortgage payments on time than food-secure adults. Notably, the strengths of these associations were attenuated among adults with SNAP benefits or Medicaid coverage. CONCLUSIONS Food insecurity was associated with poor health, limited access to and affordability of care, and a greater financial burden of care among US adults during the pandemic. Nevertheless, safety net programs can play a critical role in alleviating adverse consequences.

Abstract
The electromagnetic form factors of the proton and neutron encode information on the spatial structure of their charge and magnetization distributions. While measurements of the proton are relatively straightforward, the lack of a free neutron target makes measurements of the neutron's electromagnetic structure more challenging and more sensitive to experimental or model-dependent uncertainties. Various experiments have attempted to extract the neutron form factors from scattering from the neutron in deuterium, with different techniques providing different, and sometimes large, systematic uncertainties. We present results from a novel measurement of the neutron magnetic form factor using quasielastic scattering from the mirror nuclei ^{3}H and ^{3}He, where the nuclear effects are larger than for deuterium but expected to largely cancel in the cross-section ratios. Abstract
This study represents the synthesis of a novel class of nanoparticles denoted as annular Au nanotrenches (AANTs). AANTs are engineered to possess embedded, narrow circular nanogaps with dimensions of approximately 1 nm, facilitating near-field focusing for detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) via a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-based immunoassay. Notably, AANTs exhibited an exceedingly low limit of detection (LOD) of 1 fg/mL for SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoproteins, surpassing the commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) by 6 orders of magnitude (1 ng/mL from ELISA). To assess the real-world applicability, a study was conducted on 50 clinical samples using an SERS-based immunoassay with AANTs. The results revealed a sensitivity of 96% and a selectivity of 100%, demonstrating the significantly enhanced sensing capabilities of the proposed approach in comparison to ELISA and commercial lateral flow assay kits.

Abstract
Detecting weakly adsorbing molecules via label-free surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has presented a significant challenge. To address this issue, we propose a novel approach for creating tricomponent SERS substrates using dual-rim nanorings (DRNs) made of Au, Ag, and CuO, each possessing distinct functionalities. Our method involves depositing different metals on Pt nanoring skeletons to obtain each nanoring with varying surface compositions while maintaining a similar size and shape. Next, the mixture of these nanorings is transferred into a monolayer assembly with homogeneous intermixing on a solid substrate. The surface of the CuO DRNs has dangling bonds (Cu2+) that facilitate the strong adsorption of carboxylates through the formation of chelating bonds, while the combination of Au and Ag DRNs significantly enhances the SERS signal intensity through a strong coupling effect. Notably, the tricomponent assemblies enable the successful SERS-based analysis of biomolecules such as amino acids, proteins, nucleobases, and nucleotides.

Abstract
This study presents a straightforward and efficient synthetic approach for producing high-yield, ready-to-use, free-standing super-powder. The synthesis protocol demonstrates versatility, enabling the creation of assemblies from various nanoparticle morphologies and compositions without the need for specific substrates. Au nanorings are employed as building blocks for fabricating the super-powder, which can be used in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). The distinctive aspect ratio of the ring nanoframes allows the formation of densely packed columnar assemblies on the substrate, aligning the exposed gaps perpendicular to the laser beam. This arrangement significantly enhances the charge separation among nanorings, leading to a highly focused near-field that is applicable to SERS analysis. The SERS detection feasibility of this powder in both pre- and post-contamination conditions is demonstrated. Using a wide range of building blocks, encompassing various shapes (for instance, rods, hexagons, cubes, cuboctahedrons, elongated dodecahedrons, triangular rings, double-rings, elongated dodecahedra frames, cuboctahedra frames, and double-walled frames), the generalizability of the process for synthesizing super-powders with diverse morphologies is substantiated.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Wireless emergency alerts (WEAs), which deliver disaster information directly to individuals' mobile phones, have been widely used to provide information related to COVID-19 and to encourage compliance with social distancing guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The floating population refers to the number of people temporarily staying in a specific area, and this demographic data can be a useful indicator to understand the level of social distancing people are complying with during the COVID-19 pandemic. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to empirically analyze the impact of WEAs on the floating population where WEAs were transmitted in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. As most WEA messages focus on compliance with the government's social distancing guidelines, one of the goals of transmitting WEAs during the COVID-19 pandemic is to control the floating population at an appropriate level. METHODS We investigated the empirical impact of WEAs on the floating population across 25 districts in Seoul by estimating a panel regression model at the district-hour level with a series of fixed effects. The main independent variables were the number of instant WEAs, the daily cumulative number of WEAs, the total cumulative number of WEAs, and information extracted from WEAs by natural language processing at the district-hour level. The data set provided a highly informative empirical setting as WEAs were sent by different local governments with various identifiable district-hour-level data. RESULTS The estimates of the impact of WEAs on the floating population were significantly negative (-0.013, P=.02 to -0.014, P=.01) across all specifications, implying that an additional WEA issuance reduced the floating population by 1.3% (=100(1-e-0.013)) to 1.4% (=100(1-e-0.014)). Although the coefficients of DCN (the daily cumulative number of WEAs) were also negative (-0.0034, P=.34 to -0.0052, P=.15) across all models, they were not significant. The impact of WEAs on the floating population doubled (-0.025, P=.02 to -0.033, P=.005) when the first 82 days of observations were used as subsamples to reduce the possibility of people blocking WEAs. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that issuing WEAs and distributing information related to COVID-19 to a specific district was associated with a decrease in the floating population of that district. Furthermore, among the various types of information in the WEAs, location information was the only significant type of information that was related to a decrease in the floating population. This study makes important contributions. First, this study measured the impact of WEAs in a highly informative empirical setting. Second, this study adds to the existing literature on the mechanisms by which WEAs can affect public response. Lastly, this study has important implications for making optimal WEAs and suggests that location information should be included.

Abstract
In this research, we designed a stepwise synthetic method for Au@Pt hexapods where six elongated Au pods are arranged in a pairwise perpendicular fashion, sharing a common point (the central origin in a Cartesian-coordinate-like hexapod shape), featured with tip-selectively decorated Pt square nanoplates. Au@Pt hexapods were successfully synthesized by applying three distinctive chemical reactions in a stepwise manner. The Pt adatoms formed discontinuous thin nanoplates that selectively covered six concave facets of a Au truncated octahedron and served as etching masks in the succeeding etching process, which prevented underlying Au atoms from being oxidized. The subsequent isotropic etching proceeded radially, starting from the bare Au surface, carving the central nanocrystal in a concave manner. By controlling the etching conditions, Au@Pt hexapods were successfully fabricated, wherein the core Au domain is connected to six protruding arms, which hold Pt nanoplates at the ends. Due to their morphology, Au@Pt hexapods feature distinctive optical properties in the near-infrared region, as a proof of concept, allowing for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS)-based monitoring of in situ CO electrooxidation. We further extended our synthetic library by tailoring the size of the Pt nanoplates and neck widths of Au branches, demonstrating the validity of selective blocking and etching-based colloidal synthesis.

Abstract
Here, we describe the synthesis of a plasmonic particle-in-a-frame architecture in which a solid Au octahedron is enclosed by a Au cubic nanoframe. The octahedra are positioned inside and surrounded by outer Au cubic nanoframes, creating intra-nanogaps within a single entity. Six sharp vertexes in the Au octahedra point toward the open (100) facets of the cubic nanoframes. This allows not only efficient interactions with the surroundings but also tip-enhanced electromagnetic near-field focusing at the sharp tips of the octahedra, combined with intraparticle coupling. The solid core-frame shell structure enhances near-field focusing, giving rise to a heightened concentration of "hot spots". This effect enables highly sensitive detection of 2-naphthalenethiol and thiram, indicating these substrates for use in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy-related applications.

Abstract
AIMS To assess whether tibial tuberosity avulsion injury and subsequent surgical repair in skeletally immature dogs are associated with changes in tibial plateau angle (TPA) at skeletal maturity. METHODS Skeletally mature (> 18 months of age) dogs that had previously undergone unilateral surgery when 4-8 months of age to repair tibial tuberosity avulsion were enrolled. Bilateral, mediolateral stifle radiographs were taken. TPA was measured digitally from the radiographs independently by two readers and compared between sides within dogs. As the number of dogs that would be enrolled for the main part of the study was unknown, to understand how the variation between left and right stifles within dogs would affect the power of the main study, 29 client-owned, skeletally mature dogs without stifle pathology were recruited prior to the main study for bilateral, mediolateral projection stifle radiographs. Variation in the differences in TPA between left and right stifles was used to estimate the likely power of the major part of the study for different numbers of enrolled dogs. RESULTS From 29 dogs enrolled in the power assessment, the SD of the differences between left and right stifles was 2.1°. With 10 dogs (20 stifles) enrolled within the main part of the study, and if the SD of the differences between operated and non-operated stifles within a dog was the same as the SD of the differences between non-operated stifles within a dog (2.1°), the study would have power ≥ 0.8 if the mean difference in TPA between operated and non-operated stifles was ≥ 2.1°.Ten dogs were enrolled in phase II of the study. In 8/10 of these dogs, the TPA in the operated stifle was less than in the non-operated stifle. The mean TPA on the operated stifle was 6.4° less than on the non-operated stifle (95% CI = 2.4-10.3° less; p = 0.002). For surgery between 4 and 8 months of age, TPA at maturity increased by 2.7° (95% CI = 1.1-4.3°; p = 0.001) for each additional month of age at surgery. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE Based on this study, surgical repair of tibial tuberosity avulsion in skeletally immature dogs is associated with a smaller TPA at skeletal maturity. However, causality cannot be established from this cross-sectional study, and this association may be because stifles with a smaller TPA are predisposed to tibial tuberosity avulsion.

Abstract
Principal component analysis (PCA) is an important tool for analyzing large collections of variables. It functions both as a pre-processing tool to summarize many variables into components and as a method to reveal structure in data. Different coefficients play a central role in these two uses. One focuses on the weights when the goal is summarization, while one inspects the loadings if the goal is to reveal structure. It is well known that the solutions to the two approaches can be found by singular value decomposition; weights, loadings, and right singular vectors are mathematically equivalent. What is often overlooked, is that they are no longer equivalent in the setting of sparse PCA methods which induce zeros either in the weights or the loadings. The lack of awareness for this difference has led to questionable research practices in sparse PCA. First, in simulation studies data is generated mostly based only on structures with sparse singular vectors or sparse loadings, neglecting the structure with sparse weights. Second, reported results represent local optima as the iterative routines are often initiated with the right singular vectors. In this paper we critically re-assess sparse PCA methods by also including data generating schemes characterized by sparse weights and different initialization strategies. The results show that relying on commonly used data generating models can lead to over-optimistic conclusions. They also highlight the impact of choice between sparse weights versus sparse loadings methods and the initialization strategies. The practical consequences of this choice are illustrated with empirical datasets.

Abstract
Herein, we present a synthetic approach to fabricate Au nanoheptamers composed of six individual Au nanospheres interconnected through thin metal bridges arranged in an octahedral configuration. The resulting structures envelop central Au nanospheres, producing Au nanosphere heptamers with an open architectural arrangement. Importantly, the initial Pt coating of the Au nanospheres is a crucial step for protecting the inner Au nanospheres during multiple reactions. As-synthesized Au nanoheptamers exhibit multiple hot spots formed by nanogaps between nanospheres, resulting in strong electromagnetic near-fields. Additionally, we conducted surface-enhanced Raman-scattering-based detection of a chemical warfare agent simulant in the gas phase and achieved a limit of detection of 100 ppb, which is 3 orders lower than that achieved using Au nanospheres and Au nanohexamers. This pseudocore-shell nanostructure represents a significant advancement in the realm of complex nanoparticle synthesis, moving the field one step closer to sophisticated nanoparticle engineering.

Abstract
Here, elongated pseudohollow nanoframes composed of four rectangular plates enclosing the sides and two open-frame ends with four ridges pointing at the tips for near-field focusing are reported. The side facets act as light-collecting domains and transfer the collected light to the sharp tips for near-field focusing. The nanoframes are hollow inside, allowing the gaseous analyte to penetrate through the entire architecture and enabling efficient detection of gaseous analytes when combined with Raman spectroscopy. The resulting nanostructures are named Au dodecahedral-walled nanoframes. Synthesis of the nanoframes involves shape transformation of Au nanorods with round tips to produce Au-elongated dodecahedra, followed by facet-selective Pt growth, etching of the inner Au, and regrowth steps. The close-packed assembly of Au dodecahedral-walled nanoframes exhibits an attomolar limit of detection toward benzenethiol. This significant enhancement in SERS is attributed to the presence of a flat solid terrace for a large surface area, sharp edges and vertices for strong electromagnetic near-field collection, and open frames for effective analyte transport and capture. Moreover, nanoframes are applied to detect chemical warfare agents, specifically mustard gas simulants, and 20 times higher sensitivity is achieved compared to their solid counterparts.

Abstract
Customizable bioadhesives for individual organ requirements, including tissue type and motion, are essential, especially given the rise in implantable medical device applications demanding adequate underwater adhesion. While synthetic bioadhesives are widely used, their toxicity upon degradation shifts focus to biocompatible natural biomaterials. However, enhancing the adhesive strengths of these biomaterials presents ongoing challenges while accommodating the unique properties of specific organs. To address these issues, three types of customized underwater bioadhesive patches (CUBAPs) with strong, water-responsive adhesion and controllable biodegradability and stretchability based on bioengineered mussel adhesive proteins conjugated with acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid are proposed. The CUBAP system, although initially nonadhesive, shows strong underwater adhesion upon hydration, adjustable biodegradation, and adequate physical properties by adjusting the ratio of poly(acrylic acid) and poly(methacrylic acid). Through ex vivo and in vivo evaluations using defective organs and the implantation of electronic devices, the suitability of using CUBAPs for effective wound healing in diverse internal organs is demonstrated. Thus, this innovative CUBAP system offers strong underwater adhesiveness with tailored biodegradation timing and physical properties, giving it great potential in various biomedical applications.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate cardiovascular function in a patient with high-flow arteriovenous fistula (AVF) who underwent aortic dissection (AD) using four-dimensional (4D) flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as well as analyze the effect of flow reduction surgery on AD. On March 12, 2017, a 60-year-old woman underwent emergency surgery for AD. After that, she experienced acute kidney injury, and hemodialysis was initiated. On April 24, 2017, a left brachiocephalic arteriovenous fistula (AVF) was created to facilitate her dialysis. However, after 5 years, the patient presented with a high-flow AVF, and a flow reduction surgery was performed on March 11, 2022. To evaluate the procedure's effectiveness, we measured the changes in left ventricular (LV) function and blood flow in the aorta and vascular access before and after surgery using 4D flow MRI. Notable changes were observed in LV function, blood flow in the aorta before and after the surgery, and maximum velocity and flow volume after surgery. During the 6-month follow-up after the surgery, the maximum velocity and flow volume in the aorta and vascular access were reduced; also, indicators such as LV volume, cardiac output, cardiac index, and LV mass were improved. In patients with high-flow AVF, flow reduction surgery should be considered as it may improve LV function and reduce the risk of AD recurrence by lowering the flow volume of the aorta.

Abstract
Here, we report the synthesis of three-dimensional plasmonic nanolenses for strong near-field focusing. The nanolens exhibits a distinctive structural arrangement composed of nanoporous sponge-like networks within their interior. We denote these novel nanoparticles as "Au octahedral nanosponges" (Au Oh NSs). Employing a carefully planned multistep synthetic approach with Au octahedra serving as sacrificial templates, we successfully synthesized Au Oh NSs in solution. The porous domains resembling sponges contributed to enhanced scattering and absorption of incident light within metal ligaments. This optical energy was subsequently transferred to the nanospheres at the vertex, where near-field focusing was maximized. We named this observed enhancement a "lightning-sphere effect". Using single particle-by-particle surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), we optimized the morphological dimensions of the spheres and porous domains to achieve the most effective near-field focusing. In the context of bulk SERS measurements targeting weakly adsorbing analytes (2-chloroethyl phenyl sulfide) in the gas phase, we achieved a low detection limit of 10 ppb. For nonadsorbing species (dimethyl methyl phosphonate), utilization of hybrid SERS substrates consisting of Au Oh NSs and metal-organic frameworks as gas-adsorbing intermediate layers was highly effective for successful SERS detection.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Dacomitinib showed superior progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival compared to gefitinib in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in the ARCHER1050 study. However, because that study did not include patients with brain metastases, the efficacy of dacomitinib in patients with brain metastases has not been clarified. PATIENTS AND METHODS This single-arm phase II study enrolled 30 patients with treatment-naïve advanced NSCLC harboring activating EGFR mutations from January 2021 to June 2021 and started them on dacomitinib (45 mg/day). All patients had non-irradiated brain metastases with a diameter of ≥5 mm. The primary endpoint was confirmed intracranial objective response rate (iORR). RESULTS Patients had exon 19 deletions (46.7%) and L858R mutations in exon 21 (55.3%). The confirmed iORR was 96.7% (29/30), with an intracranial complete response of 63.3%. Median intracranial PFS (iPFS) was not reached, with 12- and 18-month iPFS rates of 78.6% [95% confidence interval (CI) 64.8% to 95.4%] and 70.4% (95% CI 54.9% to 90.1%), respectively. In the competing risk analysis, the 12-month cumulative incidence of intracranial progression was 16.7%. Regarding the overall efficacy for intracranial and extracranial lesions, the overall ORR was 96.7%, and the median PFS was 17.5 months (95% CI 15.2 months-not reached). Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events were reported in 16.7% of patients, and 83.3% required a reduced dacomitinib dose to manage adverse events. However, none permanently discontinued dacomitinib treatment due to treatment-related adverse events. CONCLUSIONS Dacomitinib has outstanding intracranial efficacy in patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC with brain metastases.

Abstract
Having large sets of predictor variables from multiple sources concerning the same individuals is becoming increasingly common in behavioral research. On top of the variable selection problem, predicting a categorical outcome using such data gives rise to an additional challenge of identifying the processes at play underneath the predictors. These processes are of particular interest in the setting of multi-source data because they can either be associated individually with a single data source or jointly with multiple sources. Although many methods have addressed the classification problem in high dimensionality, the additional challenge of distinguishing such underlying predictor processes from multi-source data has not received sufficient attention. To this end, we propose the method of Sparse Common and Distinctive Covariates Logistic Regression (SCD-Cov-logR). The method is a multi-source extension of principal covariates regression that combines with generalized linear modeling framework to allow classification of a categorical outcome. In a simulation study, SCD-Cov-logR resulted in outperformance compared to related methods commonly used in behavioral sciences. We also demonstrate the practical usage of the method under an empirical dataset.

Abstract
We present a new measurement of the positive muon magnetic anomaly, a_{μ}≡(g_{μ}-2)/2, from the Fermilab Muon g-2 Experiment using data collected in 2019 and 2020. We have analyzed more than 4 times the number of positrons from muon decay than in our previous result from 2018 data. The systematic error is reduced by more than a factor of 2 due to better running conditions, a more stable beam, and improved knowledge of the magnetic field weighted by the muon distribution, ω[over ˜]_{p}^{'}, and of the anomalous precession frequency corrected for beam dynamics effects, ω_{a}. From the ratio ω_{a}/ω[over ˜]_{p}^{'}, together with precisely determined external parameters, we determine a_{μ}=116 592 057(25)×10^{-11} (0.21 ppm). Combining this result with our previous result from the 2018 data, we obtain a_{μ}(FNAL)=116 592 055(24)×10^{-11} (0.20 ppm). The new experimental world average is a_{μ}(exp)=116 592 059(22)×10^{-11} (0.19 ppm), which represents a factor of 2 improvement in precision.

Abstract
Periodontal health is dependent on a symbiotic relationship of the host immune response with the oral microbiota. Pathologic shifts of the microbial plaque elicit an immune response that eventually leads to the recruitment and activation of osteoclasts and matrix metalloproteinases and the eventual tissue destruction that is evident in periodontal disease. Once the microbial stimulus is removed, an active process of inflammatory resolution begins. The goal of this work was to use scRNAseq to demonstrate the unique cellular immune response across three distinct conditions of periodontal health, disease, and resolution using mouse models. Periodontal disease was induced using a ligature model. Resolution was modeled by removing the ligature and allowing the mouse to recover. Immune cells (Cd45+) were isolated from the periodontium and analyzed via scRNAseq. Gene signature shifts across the three conditions were characterized and shown to be largely driven by macrophage and neutrophils during the periodontal disease and resolution conditions. Resolution of periodontal disease was characterized by the differential regulation of unique gene subsets. Clustering analysis characterized multiple cellular subpopulations within B Cells, macrophages, and neutrophils that demonstrated differential expansion and contraction across conditions of periodontal health, disease, and resolution. Interestingly, we identified a transcriptionally distinct macrophage subpopulation that expanded during the resolution condition and demonstrated an immunoregulatory gene signature. We identified a cell surface marker for this resolution-associated macrophage subgroup (Cd74) and validated the expansion of this subgroup during resolution via flow cytometry. This work presents a robust immune cell atlas for study of the immunological changes in the oral mucosa during three distinct conditions of periodontal health, disease, and resolution and it improves our understanding of the cellular and molecular markers that characterize health from disease for the development of future diagnostics and therapies.

Abstract
With the development of nanometer accuracy stitching interferometry, ion beam figuring (IBF) of x-ray mirrors can now be achieved with unprecedented performance. However, the process of producing x-ray diffraction gratings on these surfaces may degrade the figure quality due to process errors introduced during the ruling of the grating grooves. To address this challenge, we have investigated the post-production correction of gratings using IBF, where stitching interferometry is used to provide in-process feedback. A concern with ion beam correction in this case is that ions will induce enough surface mobility of atoms to cause smoothing of the grating structure and degradation of diffraction efficiency. In this study we found however that it is possible to achieve a nanometer-level planarity of the global grating surface with IBF, while preserving the grating structure. The preservation was so good, that we could not detect a change in the diffraction efficiency after ion beam correction. This is of major importance in achieving ultra-high spectral resolution, and the preservation of brightness for coherent x-ray beams.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) To utilize pulsed QUAD SHOT as an in-situ vaccine by stimulating the tumor microenvironment (TME) and excluding elective nodal sites, to enhance the immune response with concurrent ICI. MATERIALS/METHODS Thirty-three patients (20 males and 13 females), with a median age of 81 years, seen at two community hospitals, determined to be ineligible for curative treatment, were treated. All pts received pulsed dose QUAD shot regimen to gross disease (44.4-59.2 Gy) spaced 3 weeks apart with addition of an approved ICI (Pembrolizumab or Cemiplimab). ERT was directed ONLY to Gross Primary + nodal disease. ICI was administered in most pts after the first QUAD shot to enhance immune response. ICI was continued adjuvantly until a > Grade 3 adverse event (AE) or progression of disease (POD). Pts with either advanced cutaneous or mucosal SCC were included (cSCC, mSCC). 39% presented with N1-2 adenopathy, and 24% presented with recurrent disease. PD-L1 status were not routinely obtained. RESULTS The median number of ICI cycles delivered was 5 (range 2-24). All pts completed at least 3 QUAD shots. Overall LRC for all 33 pts was 69.7%, with a mean follow-up of 11 months (1-39). LRC for 33 pts at 1 and 2 years after the end of radiation were 61.07% and 55.52%, respectively. The percentage of pts free from elective regional recurrences at 1 and 2 years was 87.13% for both cSCC and mSCC groups. Overall, 6 pts (18%) experienced distant failure. Freedom from distant failure at 1 yr after QUAD shot completion by pathology was 100.00% for cSCC and 77.08% for mSCC. DFS for all 33 pts at 1 and 2 yrs were 59.39% and 37.12%, respectively. DFS at 1 year for cSCC was 100% and 53% for mSCC. Median DFS for the mSCC was 13.8 months. Overall survival for all 33 pts was 45.45% with a median OS time of 17.7 months. The 1 and 2 year OS rates were 65% and 33%. Overall toxicity was low and manageable. Gr 3 mucositis occurred in 1 patient and 5 (15%) developed Gr 2 AE's. Gr 3/4 IMAR's were observed in 3 pts and included infusion reaction, colitis, and fatigue/FTT and were discontinued. 4 pts required post QUAD PEG's unrelated to radiation toxicity and due to POD. CONCLUSION In elderly, frail, or comorbidly ill patients with LAHNC, the addition of ICI to involved field QUAD shot regimen nearly tripled the median OS rate from prior publications with QUAD shot alone from 5.7 months to 17 months in our series. The low percentage of failure in the elective nodal beds was particularly encouraging based on our hypothesis. This approach represents the next step in an evolution away from conventional RT approaches that engender greater toxicity and warrants further study.
