Abstract
Amyopathic dermatomyositis is a variant of dermatomyositis that is characterized by the typical skin rash but without the muscle abnormalities. It has been proposed that the amyopathic and myopathic forms of dermatomyositis exist on a continuum, a concept that is supported by family and genetic studies and the observation that a small proportion of amyopathic patients transform to a frankly myopathic state. The amyopathic state is defined by a lack of muscle weakness and through diagnostic tests, including serum muscle enzymes, electromyogram studies, and muscle biopsies, that are usually normal or show only minimal abnormalities. Despite the lack of weakness, many patients complain of debilitating fatigue. More sensitive measures of muscle function, such as P-31 magnetic resonance spectroscopy, suggest that muscle metabolism is abnormal in amyopathic patients. The amyopathic form is more commonly seen in adults than in children, although juvenile cases are reported. Some early series suggested no association with underlying malignancies, but recent reports indicate that malignancies occur. Determining whether a patient has amyopathic rather than myopathic disease may have prognostic implications.

Abstract
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES To determine whether vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a histopathological factor influencing contrast enhancement of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) on computed tomography (CT). METHODS Twenty-two nodular HCCs underwent multiphase helical CT and surgery. Tumor size, histological grading of differentiation, and type of hepatitis were evaluated. Tumor attenuation was graded as hyperattenuated, isoattenuated, and hypoattenuated. Immunohistochemical staining with anti-VEGF antibody was performed and scored as weak, intermediate, or strong. Spearman's rank correlation test was used. RESULTS Tumors ranged from 1.0 to 12.0 cm (mean 5.1 cm). The degree of enhancement during the hepatic arterial phase was significantly correlated with VEGF expression. Size was negatively correlated with VEGF expression and the degree of enhancement, but histological grade and type of hepatitis were not correlated with VEGF expression, tumor size, or degree of enhancement. CONCLUSIONS In HCC, VEGF expression is correlated with the degree of contrast enhancement during arterial-phase CT.

Abstract
We identified home characteristics associated with the level of airborne endotoxin in 111 Boston-area homes enrolled in a cohort study of home exposures and childhood asthma, and we developed a predictive model to estimate airborne endotoxin. We measured endotoxin in family-room air and in dust from the baby's bed, family room, bedroom, and kitchen floor. Level of airborne endotoxin was weakly correlated (r < 0.3) with level of endotoxin in each of the four types of dust samples and was significantly correlated with endotoxin in family-room dust (p < 0.05). Endotoxin in family-room dust accounted for < 6% of the variability of airborne endotoxin. In a multivariate model, certain home characteristics were positively (p < 0.05) associated with airborne endotoxin. These included current presence of dog (difference in level, dog vs. no dog = 72%, partial R(2 )= 12.8%), past presence of dog (partial R(2) = 5.5%), and endotoxin level in family-room dust (partial R(2) = 5.3%). Use of a dehumidifier (partial R(2) = 6.4%) was negatively associated (p = 0.02; difference = -31%) with airborne endotoxin. Other home characteristics were identified as important determinants of increased airborne endotoxin in this model, but individual coefficients were not statistically significant (alpha = 0.05): total amount of fine dust collected in the home (partial R(2 )= 3.8%), concrete floor in family room (3.7%), water damage (3.6%), and use of cool-mist humidifier in past year (2.7%). This multivariate model explained 42% of the variability of airborne endotoxin levels, a substantial improvement over that with dust endotoxin alone. Airborne endotoxin in Boston-area homes appears to be determined by the presence of dogs, moisture sources, and increased amounts of settled dust.

Abstract
Senescence is a sequence of biochemical and physiological events that constitute the final stage of development. The identification of genes that alter senescence has practical value and is helpful in revealing pathways that influence senescence. However, the genetic mechanisms of senescence are largely unknown. The leaf of the oresara9 (ore9) mutant of Arabidopsis exhibits increased longevity during age-dependent natural senescence by delaying the onset of various senescence symptoms. It also displays delayed senescence symptoms during hormone-modulated senescence. Map-based cloning of ORE9 identified a 693-amino acid polypeptide containing an F-box motif and 18 leucine-rich repeats. The F-box motif of ORE9 interacts with ASK1 (Arabidopsis Skp1-like 1), a component of the plant SCF complex. These results suggest that ORE9 functions to limit leaf longevity by removing, through ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis, target proteins that are required to delay the leaf senescence program in Arabidopsis.

Abstract
Implicit learning was investigated in two experiments involving a complex motor task. Participants were required to balance on a stabilometer and to move the platform on which they were standing to match a constantly changing target position. Experiment 1 examined whether a segment (middle third) that was repeated on each trial would be learned without participants becoming aware of the repetitions (i.e., implicitly). The purpose of Experiment 2 was to determine the relative effectiveness of explicit versus implicit learning. Here, two identical segments were presented on each trial (first and last thirds), with participants only being informed that one segment (either first or last) was repeated. The acquisition results from both experiments indicated large improvements in performance across 4 days of practice, with performance on the repeated segments being generally superior to that on the non-repeated segment. On the retention tests on Day 5, errors on the repeated segment(s) were smaller than those on the random segment(s). Furthermore, in Experiment 2, the errors on the repeated-known segment, although smaller than those on the random segment, were larger than those on the repeated-unknown segment. Interview results indicated that participants were not consciously aware that a segment was repeated unless they were informed. These results suggest that implicit learning can occur for relatively complex motor tasks and that withholding information concerning the regularities is more beneficial than providing this information.

Abstract
Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is known to be one of the major causes in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), although the biomolecular mechanism(s) involved remain unclear. To identify the cellular gene(s) involved in HBV-associated hepatocarcinogenesis, we used the mRNA differential display method and examined three paired tumor and nontumor tissues, all of which had chromosomally integrated HBV-DNA through chronic infection. Using 240 different combinations of three one-base anchored oligo-dT primers and 80 arbitrary 13-mers, genes decreased or increased in expression more than twofold between each tumor tissue and its paired nontumor tissue were identified. Twenty-nine known genes and four novel genes were differentially over-expressed in the HCC tumor tissues. In contrast, 27 known genes and five novel genes were under-expressed in those tumor tissues. The nucleotide sequences of the nine novel gene fragments were determined and their expression patterns were examined in 40 HCC samples. HA61T2, PT18, HG63T1, and HG57T1 were preferentially over-expressed in 32 cases (80%, P<0.001), 24 cases (60%), 23 cases (57.5%) and 22 cases (55%) of the 40 tumor tissues, respectively. There was an increased frequency of HG57T1 over-expression in HCC patients with HBV-positive serology and low serum alpha-feto protein (AFP) levels (P<0.05). DNT10, PT8, PT19, ENT25 and HA6T4 were under-expressed in 26 cases (65%), 23 cases (57.5%), 21 cases (53%), 20 cases (50%) and 18 cases (45%) of the 40 tumor samples, respectively. There was a strong correlation of DNT10 under-expression with high serum AFP level in HCC patients, irrespective of HBV serology (P<0.01). HA6T4 was preferentially under-expressed in HCC tumors in patients with HBV-positive serology and high serum AFP levels (P<0.05). Thus, the functional analyses of the known and novel genes identified in this study should prove valuable to further understand the mechanism(s) of hepatocarcinogenesis.

Abstract
The presynaptic alpha-synuclein is a prime suspect for contributing to Lewy pathology and clinical aspects of diseases, including Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and a Lewy body variant of Alzheimer's disease. Here we examined the pathogenic mechanism of neuronal cell death induced by alpha-synuclein. The exogenous addition of alpha-synuclein caused a marked decrease of cell viability in primary and immortalized neuronal cells. The neuronal cell death appeared to be correlated with the Rab5A-specific endocytosis of alpha-synuclein that subsequently caused the formation of Lewy body-like intracytoplasmic inclusions. This was further supported by the fact that the expression of GTPase-deficient Rab5A resulted in a significant decrease of its cytotoxicity as a result of incomplete endocytosis of alpha-synuclein.

Abstract
We investigate U(N) Chern-Simons theories on the noncommutative plane. We show that for the theories to be consistent quantum mechanically, the coefficient of the Chern-Simons term should be quantized kappa = n/2pi with an integer n. This is a surprise for the U(1) gauge theory. When uniform background charge density rho(e) is present, the quantization rule changes to kappa+rho(e)straight theta = n/2pi with the noncommutative parameter straight theta. With the exact expression for the angular momentum, we argue in the U(1) theory that charged particles in the symmetric phase carry fractional spin 1/2n and vortices in the broken phase carry half-integer or integer spin -n/2.

Abstract
We demonstrated the induction of cell death in a hepatoma cell line by IFN-gamma and its possible mechanism. Among the 2 hepatitis B virus (HBV)-associated hepatoma cell lines, SNU-354 and SNU-368, IFN-gamma induced cell death and increased caspase-3 activity in SNU-368 but not in SNU-354. IFN-gamma induced several changes in the mRNA expression level of apoptosis-regulating genes, e.g., increased expression of Fas, caspase-1 and TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL). In particular, IFN-gamma potently increased the mRNA expression of TRAIL in both cell lines. However, it did not change the mRNA expression level of death-mediating TRAIL receptors, e.g., DR4 and DR5, which were constitutively expressed in both cell lines. In contrast, the decoy receptor DcR1 was expressed in SNU-354 but not in SNU-368, and its expression level in SNU-354 was increased by IFN-gamma. Another decoy receptor, DcR2, was constitutively expressed in both cell lines; however, its expression level in SNU-368 was decreased by IFN-gamma. In addition, exogenous recombinant TRAIL reduced viability in SNU-368, but not in SNU-354, cells. From these findings, we speculated that TRAIL up-regulation and the subsequent TRAIL-mediated apoptosis serve as a mechanism of IFN-gamma-induced cell death in SNU-368. To confirm this hypothesis, we demonstrated that soluble DR4-Fc fusion protein, a TRAIL pathway inhibitor, inhibited IFN-gamma-induced cell death in SNU-368. Our results demonstrated that IFN-gamma acts as an inducer of cell death through TRAIL-mediated apoptosis.

Abstract
To further our understanding of the role of stress proteins in development as well as in adaptation of fish to adverse environmental conditions, we undertook molecular analyses of stress protein encoding genes from the hermaphroditic teleost Rivulus marmoratus. We isolated a genomic clone containing the Hsc71 gene (rm-hsc71m) and its upstream sequences. rm-Hsc71m is not induced by external stress, but is enriched in a tissue-specific manner during early development. In adult, the strongest expression appeared in skeletal muscle, whereas lower expression was seen in the gill, eye and brain. To understand the regulatory basis of high muscle expression of rm-hsc71m, transfection of R.marmoratus muscle tissue was performed using 5' deletion fragments containing the rm-hsc71m promoter driving EGFP expression. An upstream region from -2.7 to -1.9 kb was identified as a muscle-specific regulatory region. Within this region, we identified at least three sites with the novel sequence TGTnACA interacting with a fish muscle factor having an M(r) of 32 000. Our data indicate that rm-hsc71m expression in skeletal muscle is controlled by a muscle-specific regulatory element containing this novel motif.

Abstract
Reversed-phase LC with an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) is used for the determination of less polar ginsenosides in processed ginseng. These ginsenosides include ginsenosides F4, Rg3, Rg5, Rg6, Rk1, Rk3, Rs3, Rs4, and Rs5. The method used a C18-bonded silica column with a CH3CN/H2O/CH3COOH gradient elution. (20R) and (20S) epimers and geometric isomers at the C-20 position of ginsenosides, which are not generally separated by amino columns, were now clearly separated.

Abstract
The degradation of naphthalene was studied in soil-slurry systems, and a quantitative model was developed to evaluate the bioavailability of sorbed-phase contaminant. Four soils with different organic matter contents were used as sorbents. Two naphthalene-degrading organisms, Pseudomonas putida G7 and NCIB 9816-4, were also selected. Sorption isotherms and single and series dilution desorption studies were conducted to evaluate distribution coefficients, desorption parameters, and the amount of non-desorbable naphthalene. Biodegradation kinetics were measured in soil extract solutions and rate parameters estimated. Bioavailability assays involved establishing sorption equilibrium, inoculating the systems with organisms, and measuring naphthalene concentrations in both sorbed and dissolved phases over time. For all four soils, the sorption isotherms were linear, and desorption could be described by a model involving three types of sites: equilibrium, nonequilibrium, and non-desorption. Enhanced bioavailability, as evidenced by faster than expected degradation rates based on liquid-phase concentrations, were observed in soils with the higher sorption distribution coefficients. These observations could be described using model formulations that included solid-phase degradation. In all soils studied, degradation of non-desorbable naphthalene was observed.

Abstract
Four doses (equivalent to 4, 2, 1, and 0.5 liter water) of organic extracts from raw, treated and drinking waters sampled from seven different treatment plants in five cities in Korea were challenged to the Ames test using S. typhimurium strains TA98 and TA100 in the presence/absence of S9 mix. The mutagenicity was usually observed from chlorine-treated (28.6%) and drinking (42.9%) waters rather than raw (3.4%) waters. The strain TA98 (33.3%) was more sensitive to detect the mutagenicity of water samples than the strain TA100 (16.7%). However, the absence of S9 mix showed higher mutagenic activity of waters compared to the presence of S9 mix, corresponding to the detection of 42.9% and 7.1%, respectively. These results indicate that the bacterial mutagenicity of treated and drinking waters may be derived from chlorination in water treatment plants but that the mutagenicity in humans may be limited due to enzymatic metabolism.

OBJECTIVES To examine the determinants of fasting plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) levels such as cystatin C, serum creatinine (SCr), estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) from Cockroft-Gault equation, albumin, plasma folate, vitamin B12, and pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (PLP) among Korean renal transplant recipients (RTR) with normal SCr levels (< or =1.4 mg/dL). DESIGN Cross-sectional study. SETTING Nephrology and Transplant Service, Catholic University Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital, Seoul, Korea. PARTICIPANTS Fifty-one chronic stable Korean RTR with normal SCr levels (< or =1.4 mg/dL) 6 months or more following transplantation. MEASURES Medical record review, anthropometric measurements, and overnight (10 to 14 hours) fasting blood samples for measurement of plasma tHcy, folate, vitamin B12, PLP, SCr, albumin, and cystatin C. RESULTS General linear regression model including age, gender, vitamin status, and measurements of renal function showed that cystatin C and folate were independent predictors of tHcy levels. The partial regression coefficient for folate was -0.444 (P <.01) and for cystatin C, it was +0.334 (P <.05). SCr, estimated GFR, vitamin B12, PLP, age, and gender were not independent predictors of tHcy levels in this model. CONCLUSION Both cystatin C and folate status were major independent determinants of fasting tHcy levels in the subgroup of Korean RTR with normal SCr.

Many recombinant proteins are produced as a fusion protein tagging hexahistidine, which has been used for studying their biological function both in vitro and in vivo. Unexpectedly, we observed activation of BALB/c mouse splenocytes when treated with hexahistidine-tagged recombinant proteins. This activation was hexahistidine-specific since the anti-pentahistidine antibody completely neutralized the effect, and the bovine serum albumin conjugated with the hexahistidine peptides also showed a similar activation effect. The B cells seemed to be the activated splenocytes, since the cell population stained with the anti-immunoglobulin antibody and anti-CD80 antibody was increased after the treatment. However, the activation signal by hexahistidine was insufficient to fully differentiate the B lymphocytes. This result suggests that caution must be taken in the use of hexahistidine-tagged recombinant proteins, due to their nonspecific activation of B lymphocyte.

Abstract
P11, a member of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins, has been shown to interact with BAD (Bcl-xL/Bcl-2-associated death promoter) in the yeast two-hybrid protein-protein interaction assay. Because overexpression of P11 dampens the proapoptotic activity of BAD in transfected cells, we tested the possibility that the expression of this antiapoptotic protein may be regulated by gonadotropins and other survival factors in the ovary. Northern blot analysis of ovaries obtained from prepubertal rats revealed an increased expression of P11 messenger RNA (mRNA) during prepubertal development in the theca cells of preantral and early antral follicles. Treatment of immature rats with PMSG did not affect P11 expression, whereas treatment of PMSG-primed rats with an ovulatory dose of human (h)CG stimulated ovarian P11 mRNA within 6-9 h in the granulosa cells of preovulatory follicles. Treatment of cultured preovulatory follicles in vitro with LH further confirmed the time-dependent stimulation of P11 by gonadotropins. In addition, treatment of cultured preovulatory follicles with MDL-12,330A, an inhibitor of adenylate cyclase, inhibited LH-stimulated P11 mRNA, whereas treatment with forskolin, an adenylate cyclase activator, but not the protein kinase C activator, 2-O-tetradecanol-phorbal-13-acetate, mimicked the LH action, suggesting the role of adenylate cyclase activation in P11 expression. Treatment with other follicle survival factors, including the epidermal growth factor, the basic fibroblast growth factor, and interleukin-1beta, could also stimulate P11 expression in cultured preovulatory follicles. These results demonstrate the expression of P11 mRNA in theca cells of different-sized follicles and in granulosa cells of preovulatory follicles following gonadotropin stimulation, and suggest that P11 may mediate, at least partially, the survival action of gonadotropins during the ovulatory process.

Abstract
Phomalactone, 5,6-dihydro-5-hydroxy-6-prop-2-enyl-2H-pyran-2-one, produced by the fungus Nigrospora sphaerica, was tested in vitro against nine plant pathogenic fungi, and specifically inhibited the mycelial growth of Phytophthora infestans, with an MIC value of 2.5 mg litre-1. Its inhibitory activities against sporangium and zoospore germination of P infestans were similar to those against Phytophthora capsici. In vivo, at 100 and 500 mg litre-1, it reduced the development of tomato late blight caused by P infestans.

Abstract
The effects of an auditory model on the learning of relative and absolute timing were examined. In 2 experiments, participants attempted to learn to produce a 1,000- or 1,600-ms sequence of 5 key presses with a specific relative-timing pattern. In each experiment, participants were, or were not, provided an auditory model that consisted of a series of tones that were temporally spaced according to the criterion relative-timing pattern. In Experiment 1, participants (n = 14) given the auditory template exhibited better relative- and absolute-timing performance than participants (n = 14) not given the auditory template. In Experiment 2, auditory and no-auditory template groups again were tested, but in that experiment each physical practice participant (n = 16) was paired during acquisition with an observer (n = 16). The observer was privy to all instructions as well as auditory and visual information that was provided the physical practice participant. The results replicated the results of Experiment 1: Relative-timing information was enhanced by the auditory template for both the physical and observation practice participants. Absolute timing was improved only when the auditory model was coupled with physical practice. Consistent with the proposal of D. M. Scully and K. M. Newell (1985), modeled timing information in physical and observational practice benefited the learning of the relative-timing features of the task, but physical practice was required to enhance absolute timing.

Abstract
Leptin is a 16-kDa nonglycosylated hormone that is produced in mature adipocytes and which acts primarily in the hypothalamus to reduce food intake and body weight. While the rat is a representative laboratory animal model in obesity research, so far recombinant rat leptin was not available. In the present study, rat leptin was recombinantly expressed in Escherichia coli and purified in a bioactive form to provide a further tool for the analysis of leptin functions in rats. Leptin cDNA was cloned by RT-PCR from total RNA of SD rat adipocytes, and overexpression was achieved by subcloning the leptin cDNA into the pET-29a vector, which enabled the recombinant expression of rat leptin as an S-peptide-tagged fusion protein. Since the fusion proteins were expressed in inclusion bodies, after purification of the insoluble fraction, leptin proteins were refolded by sequential dialysis into physiological buffers. The biological activity of this recombinant protein was confirmed in proliferation assays using leptin-sensitive rat insulinoma cells as well as a newly developed leptin-sensitive luciferase assay system. The specific binding of the S-tagged leptin to leptin-receptor-expressing cells was further shown by flow cytometry using fluorescence-conjugated S-proteins.

Abstract
The restricted expression of E-cadherin on dendritic cells and intraepithelial lymphocytes has been described as a structural/adhesive system that helps to retain and integrate these cells within mucosal and dermal tissues. The activation of these cells downregulates expression of cadherins, and contributes to cell redistribution and tissue homing. It has recently been reported that lymphocytes and other leukocytes express cadherins, as well as occludin, a tight junctional component, in response to several types of stimuli. This suggests that mobilization of adherens and tight junction proteins in leukocytes may facilitate interactions of leukocytes with epithelial, endothelial, and interstitial cells that express these proteins and support homophilic adhesion. The conditions and patterns of synthesis of these adhesion molecules, in antigen-presenting cells and leukocytes, indicate that the expression of junction proteins may play roles in normal and pathological leukocyte traffic.

Abstract
Primary malignant lymphoma of the breast is rare. The incidence of primary malignant lymphomas of the breast is 0.04% to 0.5% of all malignant tumors of the breast and 0.07% of all non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, and comprises 1.7% of extranodal malignant lymphomas that occur in Western countries. The incidence of mucosa- associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the breast is reported to be between 0% and 75% of all primary malignant breast lymphomas in United States and Japan, but the incidence in Korea is unknown. MALT is characterized by indolent behavior and good has a prognosis. The authors report on a patient who has a primary MALT lymphoma of the breast. She was treated by surgical excision, which was followed by radiation therapy. Histologically, her lymphoma type transformed into a diffuse large B-cell tumor after 10months. She received combination chemotherapy and achieved a complete state of remission. She then underwent autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation along with high dose chemotherapy. To our knowledge, this is the first case report in the literature in Korea.

Abstract
Melatonin, secreted by the pineal gland, is involved in the regulation of many physiological functions of various species of animals. In the present study, the expression of gene for melatonin Mel(1a) receptor (MelR) was evaluated in the ovary, hypothalamus, and pituitary according to the developmental stages in female mice. Semiquantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and in situ PCR techniques were applied. According to the developmental stages, gene for MelR was differently expressed on ovary, hypothalamus, and pituitary. MelR gene was first expressed on pituitary prior to the expression in hypothalamus and ovary. Ovarian MelR gene started to express at birth. Unlike hypothalamic expression of MelR gene which was identified after birth, in pituitary, it was expressed at 16 days post coitum. In the ovary, the expression signal of MelR gene was identified on granulosa cells. However, the signal was not detected in the theca cells. It was weak in the primordial and atretic follicles. Taken together, it can be considered that melatonin has a pivotal role in the folliculogenesis.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to establish a rapid and reliable PCR method for the sexing of 8- to 16-cell stage bovine embryos. The BOV97M and bovine 1.715 satellite DNA sequences were selected for amplification of male- and bovine-specific DNA, respectively. But the unequal number of copies of these two repetitive sequences required some modification of the multiplex PCR method. In consecutive and multiplex PCR, the first 10 PCR cycles were done with male-specific primer followed by an additional 23 cycles with bovine-specific primer. In this PCR method, the appearance of male- and bovine-specific bands was independent of the DNA concentration. This PCR method was applied successfully using groups of 8, 4, 2, and 1 blastomeres dissociated from the embryos, and the sexing efficiency was 100.0, 96.3, 94.3 and 92.1%, respectively. The coincident rate of sex determination between biopsied single blastomere and matched blastocyst was 90.0%. Therefore the developmental potential from 8- to 16-cell stage embryos to the blastocyst stage was not significantly different (P>0.2) for intact embryo (42.3%) than for demi-embryos (53.8%), suggesting that trauma to the demi-embryo caused by single-blastomere aspiration using a bevelled micropipette was very small. In conclusion, we developed a rapid (within 2 hours) and effective PCR method for the sexing of 8- to 16-cell stage bovine embryos using a single blastomere.

Abstract
The objective of the currently study was to determine the effect of Kunbi-Boshin-Hangam-Tang (KBH-Tang) on the production of nitric oxide (NO). Stimulation of RAW 264.7 cells with KBH-Tang after the treatment of recombinant interferon-gamma (rIFN-gamma) resulted in increased NO synthesis. KBH-Tang partially increased NO synthesis by itself. When KBH-Tang was used in combination with rIFN-gamma, there was a marked cooperative induction of NO synthesis in a dose-dependent manner. This increase in NO synthesis was reflected as increased amount of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) protein. NO production was inhibited by NG-monomethyl-L-arginine (NGMMA). Furthermore, activation of nuclear factor (NF)-kappaB was increased by KBH-Tang. These results suggest that KBH-Tang may stimulate the NO production through the activation of the NF-kappaB.
