Abstract
Using a sample of about 10^{10} J/ψ events collected at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=3.097 GeV with the BESIII detector, the electromagnetic Dalitz decays J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}π^{+}π^{-}η^{'}, with η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} and η^{'}→π^{+}π^{-}η, have been studied. The decay J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}X(1835) is observed with a significance of 15σ, and also an e^{+}e^{-} invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}X(1835) is presented for the first time. The intermediate states X(2120) and X(2370) are also observed in the π^{+}π^{-}η^{'} invariant-mass spectrum with significances of 5.3σ and 7.3σ. The corresponding product branching fractions for J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}X, X→π^{+}π^{-}η^{'} [X=X(1835), X(2120), and X(2370)] are reported.

Probing CP symmetry and weak phases with entangled double-strange baryons. Nature 2022; 606:64-69. Abstract
Though immensely successful, the standard model of particle physics does not offer any explanation as to why our Universe contains so much more matter than antimatter. A key to a dynamically generated matter-antimatter asymmetry is the existence of processes that violate the combined charge conjugation and parity (CP) symmetry1. As such, precision tests of CP symmetry may be used to search for physics beyond the standard model. However, hadrons decay through an interplay of strong and weak processes, quantified in terms of relative phases between the amplitudes. Although previous experiments constructed CP observables that depend on both strong and weak phases, we present an approach where sequential two-body decays of entangled multi-strange baryon-antibaryon pairs provide a separation between these phases. Our method, exploiting spin entanglement between the double-strange Ξ- baryon and its antiparticle2 [Formula: see text], has enabled a direct determination of the weak-phase difference, (ξP - ξS) = (1.2 ± 3.4 ± 0.8) × 10-2 rad. Furthermore, three independent CP observables can be constructed from our measured parameters. The precision in the estimated parameters for a given data sample size is several orders of magnitude greater than achieved with previous methods3. Finally, we provide an independent measurement of the recently debated Λ decay parameter αΛ (refs. 4,5). The [Formula: see text] asymmetry is in agreement with and compatible in precision to the most precise previous measurement4.

Abstract
Objective: To summarize the clinical outcomes of burn patients in different stages of pregnancy and explore a rational therapeutic scheme for burns during pregnancy. Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted. From June 2010 to June 2020, 21 patients who met the inclusion criteria were admitted to the Department of Burns of Wuhan Third Hospital and 14 patients who met the inclusion criteria were admitted to the Department of Burns of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University. Based on the pregnancy period when patients suffered burns, the 35 patients were divided into early pregnancy group with 18 patients (aged (26±4) years, with 8 (4, 11) weeks of gestation), middle pregnancy group with 10 patients (aged (26±3) years, with 21 (14, 27) weeks of gestation), and late pregnancy group with 7 patients (aged (30±5) years, with 32 (29, 35) weeks of gestation). All the patients received treatment including fluid resuscitation, anti-infection, wound treatment, and multidisciplinary comprehensive managements. The burn-related complications during the treatment, maternal outcomes, fetal outcomes, fetal delivery mode, gestational weeks at delivery, and newborn weight of patients in the 3 groups were recorded. Data were statistically analyzed with one-way analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Fisher's exact probability test. Results: During the treatment, there were 4, 4, and 2 patients who suffered wound infections and 1, 3, and 2 patients who developed shock symptoms, respectively, in early pregnancy group, middle pregnancy group, and late pregnancy group. There were no statistically significant differences in them among the 3 groups (P>0.05). One patient in late pregnancy group developed into multiple organ dysfunction syndrome after debridement. At last, all the pregnant women survived, and no statistically significant difference existed among the 3 groups (P>0.05). In early pregnancy group, middle pregnancy group, and late pregnancy group, the survived fetus cases were 9, 8, and 6, respectively, and the differences between them were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Variables including stillbirth and full-term birth were close in patients in the 3 groups (P>0.05), while the preterm birth and miscarriage in patients in the 3 groups were statistically different (P<0.05 or P<0.01), with the early pregnancy group having the most miscarriage cases and the fewest preterm birth cases. There were no statistically significant differences in fetal delivery mode, gestational weeks at delivery, and newborn weight among the patients with survived fetus in 3 groups (P>0.05). Conclusions: For patients suffering burns during early, middle, and late pregnancy, superior rates of maternal and fetal survival can be achieved after timely and adequate treatments including fluid resuscitation, anti-infection, wound treatment, and multidisciplinary comprehensive managements.

Background
Although cardiac pacing is an essential therapy for bradycardia, conventional right ventricular pacing (CRVP) can cause electrical-mechanical dyssynchrony. Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing (LBBAP) is a new conduction system pacing strategy that includes a normal conduction system and therefore maintains synchronous ventricular contraction. Most of the experience with LBBAP is done in a lumen-less lead with fixed helix design, and this device is not available in sometimes.
Purpose
This study aimed to evaluate the learning curve of LBBAP using standard stylet-driven lead with extendable helix design.
Methods
This study enrolled patients who underwent permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation at a University Hospital in South Korea from December 2020 to October 2021. LBBAP was performed with a 5.6Fr stylet-driven pacing lead with an extendable helix. The learning curve was assessed by analyzing fluoroscopy time and procedure time.
Results
In 65 patients who underwent LBBAP during the observation period, mean fluoroscopy time and procedural time were 17.1 ± 17.2 minutes and 64.2 ± 33.5 minutes, respectively in this study. The learning curve for achieving LBBAP appears to plateau after around 24th case with a progressive reduction in procedure time. This is a significantly shorter period of time when compared to the previously reported learning curves of his bundle pacing (30-50cases), previously developed conduction system pacing strategy.
Conclusion
During initial experience with LBBAP, fluoroscopy and procedural time continue to improve with operator experience. For physicians who are experienced at cardiac pacemaker implantation, the steepest part of the learning curve of LBBAP appears to be over the first 20-25 cases.

Observation of the Singly Cabibbo Suppressed Decay Λ_{c}^{+}→nπ^{+}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:142001. Abstract
The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λ_{c}^{+}→nπ^{+} is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of 7.3σ by using 3.9 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.612 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The branching fraction of Λ_{c}^{+}→nπ^{+} is measured to be (6.6±1.2_{stat}±0.4_{syst})×10^{-4}. By taking the upper limit of branching fractions of Λ_{c}^{+}→pπ^{0} from the Belle experiment, the ratio of branching fractions between Λ_{c}^{+}→nπ^{+} and Λ_{c}^{+}→pπ^{0} is calculated to be larger than 7.2 at the 90% confidence level, which disagrees with most predictions of the available phenomenological models. In addition, the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-favored decays Λ_{c}^{+}→Λπ^{+} and Λ_{c}^{+}→Σ^{0}π^{+} are measured to be (1.31±0.08_{stat}±0.05_{syst})×10^{-2} and (1.22±0.08_{stat}±0.07_{syst})×10^{-2}, respectively, which are consistent with previous results.

Abstract
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^{-1} collected at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector, the decay D^{0}→ωϕ is observed for the first time. The branching fraction is measured to be (6.48±0.96±0.40)×10^{-4} with a significance of 6.3σ, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. An angular analysis reveals that the ϕ and ω mesons from the D^{0}→ωϕ decay are transversely polarized. The 95% confidence level upper limit on longitudinal polarization fraction is set to be less than 0.24, which is inconsistent with current theoretical expectations and challenges our understanding of the underlying dynamics in charm meson decays.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The current study aimed to explore the risk factors for bone metastasis (BMT) in patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer (PCa). PATIENTS AND METHODS The clinical data of 322 patients newly diagnosed with PCa following transrectal prostate biopsy at our hospital from October 2016 to March 2021 were analyzed. According to the results of whole-body bone emission computed tomography (ECT) scanning, patients were divided into the following two groups: bone metastasis group (BMT) and none-bone metastasis group (None-BMT). Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to assess the BMT-related factors associated with PCa. A receiver operating characteristic curve was also used to compare the diagnostic value of total prostate-specific antigen (TPSA), prostate-specific antigen density (PSAD), Gleason score and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) for prostate cancer bone metastasis (PCBM). RESULTS The results revealed that the incidence of BMT in newly diagnosed patients with PCa was ~22.05% (71/322). Univariate analysis demonstrated that Gleason score, clinical T stage, TPSA, PSAD and ALP were associated with PCBM (p<0.001). Furthermore, the results of multivariate regression analysis revealed that TPSA, PSAD, Gleason score and ALP were independent risk factors for BMT (p <0.05). The cutoff values for TPSA, PSAD, ALP and Gleason score were 39.58 ng/ml, 1.489 ng/(ml/cm3), 93.15 U/l and 7.5, respectively. Additionally, the respective sensitivities for TPSA, PSAD, ALP and Gleason score were 67.6, 62.0, 57.7 and 46.5%, and the respective specificities were 88.4, 98.0, 100 and 98.8%. CONCLUSIONS The current study determined that TPSA, PSAD, Gleason score and ALP were predictors of PCBM. In patients with PSA levels >39.58 ng/ml, PSAD levels >1.489 ng/(ml/cm3), Gleason scores >7.5 and ALP levels >91.0 U/l, a whole-body bone ECT scan is recommended.

Abstract
On July 11, 2018, a 26 years old male patient with pseudotumor of lower extremity combined with protracted infectious skin ulcer induced by severe hemophilia A was admitted to Tongren Hospital of Wuhan University&Wuhan Third Hospital. After treatment of supplementary of clotting factors, prothrombin complex, debridement, and vacuum sealing drainage, skin grafting was performed after granulation tissue formation in wounds. After surgery, clotting factor supplement, anti-infection, prevention of hematoma, and so on were performed. The wounds were finally closed with the survival of skin graft, which dramatically improves the patient's quality of life. This case suggests that aggressive and effective surgical treatment can significantly improve the prognosis of patients with severe hemophilia A.

Abstract
Using a dataset of 6.32 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4178 and 4226 MeV, we have measured the absolute branching fraction of the leptonic decay D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ} via τ^{+}→e^{+}ν_{e}ν[over ¯]_{τ}, and find B_{D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ}}=(5.27±0.10±0.12)×10^{-2}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The precision is improved by a factor of 2 compared to the previous best measurement. Combining with f_{D_{s}^{+}} from lattice quantum chromodynamics calculations or the |V_{cs}| from the CKMfitter group, we extract |V_{cs}|=0.978±0.009±0.012 and f_{D_{s}^{+}}=(251.1±2.4±3.0) MeV, respectively. Combining our result with the world averages of B_{D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ}} and B_{D_{s}^{+}→μ^{+}ν_{μ}}, we obtain the ratio of the branching fractions B_{D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ}}/B_{D_{s}^{+}→μ^{+}ν_{μ}}=9.72±0.37, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality.

Abstract
Using 2.93 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data taken with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, the observation of the D^{0}→K_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} semileptonic decay is presented. The statistical significance of the decay D^{0}→K_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is greater than 10σ. The branching fraction of D^{0}→K_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is measured to be (1.09±0.13_{-0.16}^{+0.09}±0.12)×10^{-3}. Abstract
Objective: To observe the changes in the related indicators of bone formation and bone resorption in severely burned rats. Methods: The experimental research method was adopted. Thirty female Sprague-Dawley rats aged 6 to 8 weeks were divided into sham injury group, 12% total body surface area (TBSA) full-thickness burn group, and 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group according to the random number table, with 10 rats in each group. The rats were treated on the back correspondingly, after which, the burned rats were rehydrated by intraperitoneal injection according to the Parkland formula, and the wound was coated with 20 g/L iodophor until wound healing. On post injury day (PID) 28, the tibia tissue of rats in each group was collected. The new bone tissue and the number of osteoclasts were observed after staining with Masson and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase, respectively. The abdominal aortic blood of rats in each group was harvested for serum preparation. The bone metabolism indexes of serum calcium ion and phosphorus ion concentration were determined by the methyl thymol blue colorimetric method and phosphomolybdic acid method, respectively. The serum levels of bone formation marker of aminoterminal propeptide of type 1 procollagen (P1NP) and bone resorption marker of beta-carboxy-terminated peptide of type Ⅰ collagen (β-CTX) were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The first lumbar spine tissue of rats in each group was collected, and the mRNA expression levels of osteoprotegerin, receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL), tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF-6), nuclear factor of activated T cell 1 (NFATC1), c-Fos, and c-Src were detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Data were statistically analyzed with one-way analysis of variance, Bonferroni method, Welch test, Games-Howell test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Bonferroni correction. Results: On PID 28, compared with that in sham injury group, the formation of new bone tissue in the tibia tissue of rats in the two burn groups was decreased, and the larger the burn area, the more obvious the decrease. The numbers of osteoclasts in the tibia tissue of rats in the two burn groups were similar, both significantly more than the number in sham injury group. On PID 28, the serum calcium ion concentration and serum level of β-CTX of rats in the three groups were similar (P>0.05). The serum phosphorus ion concentration of rats in 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group was significantly higher than that in 12%TBSA full-thickness burn group (P<0.05), and the serum phosphorus ion concentrations in the two burn groups were significantly higher than the concentration in sham injury group (P<0.01). The serum level of P1NP of rats in 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group was significantly lower than that in sham injury group (P<0.01). On PID 28, the mRNA expression levels of osteoprotegerin in the first lumbar spine tissue of rats in sham injury group, 12%TBSA full-thickness burn group, and 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group were 1.01±0.20, 1.71±0.83, and 2.24±0.51, respectively, and that in 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group was significantly higher than that in sham injury group (P<0.01). The mRNA expression level of RANKL in the first lumbar spine tissue of rats in 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group was 1.31±0.17, which was significantly higher than 1.00±0.14 in sham injury group and 0.97±0.10 in 12%TBSA full-thickness burn group (P<0.01). The mRNA expression levels of TRAF-6, NFATC1 (Z=3.141, 3.782), and c-Src in the first lumbar tissue of rats in 12%TBSA full-thickness burn group and 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group and the mRNA expression level of c-Fos in the first lumbar tissue of rats in 12%TBSA full-thickness burn group were significantly higher than those in sham injury group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The mRNA expression levels of c-Fos and c-Src in the first lumbar spine tissue of rats in 12%TBSA full-thickness burn group were significantly higher than those in 24%TBSA full-thickness burn group (P<0.01). Conclusions: Severe burns can cause a decrease in the generation of new bone tissue, an increase in the number of osteoclasts and the serum phosphorus ion concentration, and a decrease in the serum level of P1NP in rats. The level of osteoprotegerin, RANKL, TRAF-6, NFATC1, c-Fos, and c-Src in bone tissue showed an increasing trend while the level of NFATC1, c-Fos, and c-Src showed a decreasing trend with the increase of burn area.

Abstract
The absolute branching fraction of Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} is reported for the first time based on an e^{+}e^{-} annihilation sample of 10×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at sqrt[s]=3.097 GeV. The branching fraction is determined to be B(Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ})=[1.48±0.21(stat)±0.08(syst)]×10^{-4}, which is improved by about 30% in precision over the previous indirect measurements. Combining this result with the world average of B(Λ→pe^{-}ν[over ¯]_{e}), we obtain the ratio {[Γ(Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ})]/[Γ(Λ→pe^{-}ν[over ¯]_{e})]} to be 0.178±0.028, which agrees with the standard model prediction assuming lepton flavor universality. The asymmetry of the branching fractions of Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} and Λ[over ¯]→p[over ¯]μ^{+}ν_{μ} is also determined, and no evidence for CP violation is found.

Abstract
We report a measurement of the observed cross sections of e^{+}e^{-}→J/ψX based on 3.21 fb^{-1} of data accumulated at energies from 3.645 to 3.891 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. In analysis of the cross sections, we measured the decay branching fractions of B(ψ(3686)→J/ψX)=(64.4±0.6±1.6)% and B(ψ(3770)→J/ψX)=(0.5±0.2±0.1)% for the first time. The energy-dependent line shape of these cross sections cannot be well described by two Breit-Wigner (BW) amplitudes of the expected decays ψ(3686)→J/ψX and ψ(3770)→J/ψX. Instead, it can be better described with one more BW amplitude of the decay R(3760)→J/ψX. Under this assumption, we extracted the R(3760) mass M_{R(3760)}=3766.2±3.8±0.4 MeV/c^{2} , total width Γ_{R(3760)}^{tot}=22.2±5.9±1.4 MeV, and product of leptonic width and decay branching fraction Γ_{R(3760)}^{ee}B[R(3760)→J/ψX]=(79.4±85.5±11.7) eV. The significance of the R(3760) is 5.3σ. The first uncertainties of these measured quantities are from fits to the cross sections and second systematic.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To examine the association between prenatal exposure to solar radiation and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP). DESIGN A multicentre retrospective study. SETTING 19 hospitals in the USA. POPULATION 205 888 women with singleton gestation from the Consortium on Safe Labor (2002-2008). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and pre-eclampsia superimposed on chronic hypertension. METHODS Medical records of the participants were linked to solar radiation obtained from the National Solar Radiation Database. Average daily solar radiation of each woman was estimated over the entire pregnancy period and over three trimesters during pregnancy according to hospital sites. Generalised estimated equation was applied to investigate the relationship between quartiles of average daily solar radiation and HDP. Restricted cubic spline was applied to assess the nonlinear associations. RESULTS Higher average solar radiation during the entire pregnancy was associated with reduced risks of HDP. Compared with the 1st quartile of solar radiation during the entire pregnancy, odds ratios (ORs) of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quartiles were respectively 0.80 (95% CI 0.72-0.90), 0.63 (95% CI 0.55-0.73), 0.65 (95% CI 0.54-0.78) for gestational hypertension; 0.66 (95% CI 0.57-0.76), 0.61 (95% CI 0.51-0.73), 0.77 (95% CI 0.62-0.95) for pre-eclampsia, and 0.44 (95% CI 0.36-0.55), 0.42 (95% CI 0.35-0.49), 0.60 (95% CI 0.46-0.78) for superimposed pre-eclampsia. CONCLUSION Exposure to higher daily solar radiation during pregnancy is associated with a decreased risk of HDP. The protective effect was stronger for superimposed pre-eclampsia than for pre-eclampsia or gestational hypertension. TWEETABLE ABSTRACT Exposure to higher daily solar radiation during pregnancy is associated with a decreased risk of HDP.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate ultrasonic features of the major salivary glands in patients with immunoglobulin G4-related sialadenitis (IgG4-RS) and to explore the differences between IgG4-RS and Sjögren's syndrome (SS). METHOD We conducted the study in 150 patients with IgG4-RS and 100 patients with SS. Ultrasonographic variables of the static images of major salivary glands were analysed. An experienced radiologist scored the confidence rating regarding the presence of the characteristic imaging findings using a five-grade rating system. Ultrasonography scores between IgG4-RS and SS were compared. RESULTS The major salivary glands were significantly larger in patients with IgG4-RS than in the SS group. The main features of ultrasonography of the salivary glands in IgG4-RS were various hypoechoic lesions and increased colour Doppler signalling. In contrast, the major salivary glands in SS exhibited hyperechoic lines and/or spots and obscuration of the gland configuration. The scores of the summarized sonographic characteristics also showed statistically significant differences between the IgG4-RS and SS groups. CONCLUSION This study revealed different ultrasonic features of the major salivary glands in patients with IgG4-RS and SS. The scored sonographic features were helpful in differentiating IgG4-RS from SS. Consequently, we suggest that ultrasonography of major salivary glands could be a useful imaging procedure in the evaluation of patients suspected of having IgG4-RS.

[Incidence and risk factors of anastomotic leak after transanal total mesorectal excision in China: a retrospective analysis based on national database]. ZHONGHUA WEI CHANG WAI KE ZA ZHI = CHINESE JOURNAL OF GASTROINTESTINAL SURGERY 2021; 24:505-512. [PMID: 34148315 DOI: 10.3760/cma.j.cn.441530-20210226-00084] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/05/2022]
Abstract
Objective: Transanal total mesorectal excision (taTME) was a very hot topic in the first few years since its appearance, but now more introspections and controversies on this procedure have emerged. One of the reasons why the Norwegian Ministry of Health stopped taTME was the high incidence of postoperative anastomotic leak. In current study, the incidence and risk factors of anastomotic leak after taTME were analyzed based on the data registered in the Chinese taTME Registry Collaborative (CTRC). Methods: A case-control study was carried out. Between November 15, 2017 and December 31, 2020, clinical data of 1668 patients undergoing taTME procedure registered in the CTRC database from 43 domestic centers were collected retrospectively. After excluding 98 cases without anastomosis and 109 cases without complete postoperative complication data, 1461 patients were finally enrolled for analysis. There were 1036 males (70.9%) and 425 females (29.1%) with mean age of (58.2±15.6) years and mean body mass index of (23.6±3.8) kg/m(2). Anastomotic leak was diagnosed and classified according to the International Study Group of Rectal Cancer (ISREC) criteria. The risk factors associated with postoperative anastomotic leak cases were analyzed. The impact of the cumulative number of taTME surgeries in a single center on the incidence of anastomotic leak was evaluated. As for those centers with the number of taTME surgery ≥ 40 cases, incidence of anastomic leak between 20 cases of taTME surgery in the early and later phases was compared. Results: Of 1461 patients undergoing taTME, 103(7.0%) developed anastomotic leak, including 71 (68.9%) males and 32 (31.1%) females with mean age of (59.0±13.9) years and mean body mass index of (24.5±5.7) kg/m(2). The mean distance between anastomosis site and anal verge was (2.6±1.4) cm. Thirty-nine cases (37.9%) were classified as ISREC grade A, 30 cases (29.1%) as grade B and 34 cases (33.0%) as grade C. Anastomotic leak occurred in 89 cases (7.0%,89/1263) in the laparoscopic taTME group and 14 cases (7.1%, 14/198) in the pure taTME group. Multivariate analysis showed that hand-sewn anastomosis (P=0.004) and the absence of defunctioning stoma (P=0.013) were independently associated with anastomotic leak after taTME. In the 16 centers (37.2%) which performed ≥ 30 taTME surgeries with cumulative number of 1317 taTME surgeries, 86 cases developed anastomotic leak (6.5%, 86/1317). And in the 27 centers which performed less than 30 taTME surgeries with cumulative number of 144 taTME surgeries, 17 cases developed anastomotic leak (11.8%, 17/144). There was significant difference between two kinds of center (χ(2)=5.513, P=0.019). Thirteen centers performed ≥ 40 taTME surgeries. In the early phase (the first 20 cases in each center), 29 cases (11.2%, 29/260) developed anastomotic leak, and in the later phase, 12 cases (4.6%, 12/260) developed anastomotic leak. The difference between the early phase and the later phase was statistically significant (χ(2)=7.652, P=0.006). Conclusion: The incidence of anastomotic leak after taTME may be reduced by using stapler and defunctioning stoma, or by accumulating experience.

Abstract
Monolithic, millimeter wave "system-on-chip" technology has been employed in chip heterodyne radiometers in a newly developed Electron Cyclotron Emission Imaging (ECEI) system on the DIII-D tokamak for 2D electron temperature and fluctuation diagnostics. The system employs 20 horn-waveguide receiver modules each with customized W-band (75-110 GHz) monolithic microwave integrated circuit chips comprising a W-band low noise amplifier, a balanced mixer, a ×2 local oscillator (LO) frequency doubler, and two intermediate frequency amplifier stages in each module. Compared to previous quasi-optical ECEI arrays with Schottky mixer diodes mounted on planar antennas, the upgraded W-band array exhibits >30 dB additional gain and 20× improvement in noise temperature; an internal eight times multiplier chain is used to provide LO coupling, thereby eliminating the need for quasi-optical coupling. The horn-waveguide shielding housing avoids out-of-band noise interference on each module. The upgraded ECEI system plays an important role for absolute electron temperature and fluctuation measurements for edge and core region transport physics studies. An F-band receiver chip (up to 140 GHz) is under development for additional fusion facilities with a higher toroidal magnetic field. Visualization diagnostics provide multi-scale and multi-dimensional data in plasma profile evolution. A significant aspect of imaging measurement is focusing on artificial intelligence for science applications.

Inflammatory response or oxidative stress induces upregulation of PTPN2 and thus promotes the progression of laryngocarcinoma. EUROPEAN REVIEW FOR MEDICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL SCIENCES 2021; 24:4314-4319. [PMID: 32373968 DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_202004_21012] [Citation(s) in RCA: 3] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/12/2022]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to investigate whether inflammatory response or oxidative stress could induce upregulation of PTPN2, thus promoting the progression of laryngocarcinoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS PTPN2 levels in laryngocarcinoma tissues and normal tissues were detected. In addition, PTPN2 levels in laryngocarcinoma tissues with stage 1/2 or stage 3/4 were determined as well. In vitro abundance of PTPN2 was measured in laryngocarcinoma cells and immortalized human nasopharyngeal epithelial cells. Survival analysis was conducted in laryngocarcinoma patients with high or low expression level of PTPN2. Subsequently, M4E cells were stimulated with inflammation (IFN-γ or TNF-α treatment) or oxidative stress (H2O2 stimulation), followed by determination of the protein level of PTPN2. In M4E cells stimulated with different concentrations of H2O2, the clonality and Ki-67 positive cell ratio were detected. Finally, clonality and Ki-67 positive cell ratio in M4E cells transfected with negative control or sh-PTPN2, regardless of H2O2 stimulation, were assessed. RESULTS PTPN2 was upregulated in laryngocarcinoma tissues, especially those in stage 3/4. Similarly, in vitro abundance of PTPN2 was higher in laryngocarcinoma cell lines. The high level of PTPN2 predicted poor prognosis in laryngocarcinoma patients. IFN-γ or TNF-α treatment upregulated the protein level of PTPN2. Meanwhile, H2O2 stimulation upregulated the protein level of PTPN2, dose-dependently increased clonality, and Ki-67 positive cell ratio in M4E cells. The knockdown of PTPN2 suppressed clonality and Ki-67 positive cell ratio in M4E cells stimulated by H2O2 or not. CONCLUSIONS Inflammatory response or oxidative stress could induce upregulation of PTPN2, thus promoting the proliferative ability of laryngocarcinoma.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Accurate and robust pathological image analysis for colorectal cancer (CRC) diagnosis is time-consuming and knowledge-intensive, but is essential for CRC patients' treatment. The current heavy workload of pathologists in clinics/hospitals may easily lead to unconscious misdiagnosis of CRC based on daily image analyses. METHODS Based on a state-of-the-art transfer-learned deep convolutional neural network in artificial intelligence (AI), we proposed a novel patch aggregation strategy for clinic CRC diagnosis using weakly labeled pathological whole-slide image (WSI) patches. This approach was trained and validated using an unprecedented and enormously large number of 170,099 patches, > 14,680 WSIs, from > 9631 subjects that covered diverse and representative clinical cases from multi-independent-sources across China, the USA, and Germany. RESULTS Our innovative AI tool consistently and nearly perfectly agreed with (average Kappa statistic 0.896) and even often better than most of the experienced expert pathologists when tested in diagnosing CRC WSIs from multicenters. The average area under the receiver operating characteristics curve (AUC) of AI was greater than that of the pathologists (0.988 vs 0.970) and achieved the best performance among the application of other AI methods to CRC diagnosis. Our AI-generated heatmap highlights the image regions of cancer tissue/cells. CONCLUSIONS This first-ever generalizable AI system can handle large amounts of WSIs consistently and robustly without potential bias due to fatigue commonly experienced by clinical pathologists. It will drastically alleviate the heavy clinical burden of daily pathology diagnosis and improve the treatment for CRC patients. This tool is generalizable to other cancer diagnosis based on image recognition.

Abstract
We report a study of the processes of e^{+}e^{-}→K^{+}D_{s}^{-}D^{*0} and K^{+}D_{s}^{*-}D^{0} based on e^{+}e^{-} annihilation samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII at five center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.628 to 4.698 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 3.7 fb^{-1}. An excess of events over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the D_{s}^{-}D^{*0} and D_{s}^{*-}D^{0} mass thresholds in the K^{+} recoil-mass spectrum for events collected at sqrt[s]=4.681 GeV. The structure matches a mass-dependent-width Breit-Wigner line shape, whose pole mass and width are determined as (3982.5_{-2.6}^{+1.8}±2.1) MeV/c^{2} and (12.8_{-4.4}^{+5.3}±3.0) MeV, respectively. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the resonance hypothesis is estimated to be 5.3 σ over the contributions only from the conventional charmed mesons. This is the first candidate for a charged hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness, decaying into D_{s}^{-}D^{*0} and D_{s}^{*-}D^{0}. However, the properties of the excess need further exploration with more statistics.

Abstract
We present an analysis of the process ψ(3686)→Ω^{-}Ω[over ¯]^{+} (Ω^{-}→K^{-}Λ, Ω[over ¯]^{+}→K^{+}Λ[over ¯], Λ→pπ^{-}, Λ[over ¯]→p[over ¯]π^{+}) based on a dataset of 448×10^{6} ψ(3686) decays collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII electron-positron collider. The helicity amplitudes for the process ψ(3686)→Ω^{-}Ω[over ¯]^{+} and the decay parameters of the subsequent decay Ω^{-}→K^{-}Λ (Ω[over ¯]^{+}→K^{+}Λ[over ¯]) are measured for the first time by a fit to the angular distribution of the complete decay chain, and the spin of the Ω^{-} is determined to be 3/2 for the first time since its discovery more than 50 years ago.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Increased infliximab (IFX) utilization has generated higher drug expenditures and cost burden to the healthcare system. The expiration of the IFX originator Remicade patent led to the addition of biosimilar agents to the drug market that may reduce drug expenditures. In British Columbia, Pharmacare’s 2019 biosimilar initiative mandated all pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients on Remicade to switch to the biosimilar Renflexis. To date, there is limited pediatric IBD data demonstrating that switching from IFX originator to IFX biosimilar CT-P13 is safe and effective, and no data on switching to Renflexis.
Aims
To determine the proportion of patients remaining on Renflexis 6 months after switch from originator IFX. The secondary aims are to determine the proportion of patients remaining in clinical and biochemical remission after switch.
Methods
In this prospective, longitudinal observation single-center study, all children with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis receiving maintenance IFX originator therapy were switched to Renflexis by May 15th 2020. Baseline demographics, concomitant therapy, clinical disease indices (wPCDAI, PUCAI), growth data, blood work, fecal calprotectin and IFX drug levels were collected at baseline and prospectively from 6 months after the switch. All data are presented as median and interquartile range.
Results
A total of 139 children (110 CD, 25 UC and 4 IBDU; Median age 16.2 (3.7) years) with a median IFX originator duration of 42.7 (35.1) months before switching to Renflexis were included. 137/139 (99%) of patients remained on Renflexis at study end. The proportion of children in clinical remission from baseline to 6 months post switch was unchanged (133/139 (95.7%) vs. 130/132 (98.5%), p=0.17). There was no significant change pre and post switch in median CRP (<5 (0) mg/L vs <5 (0) mg/L, p=0.26) or fecal calprotectin (72.5 (144.2) ug/g vs. 65.5 (140.0) ug/g, p=0.87). There was no significant change pre and post switch in the proportion of patients with normal CRP (<5 mg/L) (89/103 (86.4%) vs 89/98 (90.8%), p=0.33) or normal fecal calprotectin (<250 ug/g)(91/112 (81.2%) vs 51/63 (80.9%), p=0.60). There was no significant change pre and post switch in IFX trough level (15.5 (12.3) ug/mL vs 17.5 (12.9) ug/mL, p=0.42). 2 patients had antibodies to IFX after switching. Safety profile is improved with adverse events in 38/139 (27.3%) children on IFX originator vs. 11/139 (7.91%) children on Renflexis for 6 months.
Conclusions
Pediatric IBD patients can be successfully switched from IFX originator to biosimilar Renflexis during maintenance without affecting efficacy, immunogenicity or safety in the short term.

Abstract
An Electron Cyclotron Emission Imaging (ECEI) data analysis module has been developed for the OMFIT platform to accommodate the needs of users at the DIII-D tokamak for physics applications. The user can easily access the ECEI spatial observation windows in the plasma that are calculated based on the automatically retrieved hardware setup and available DIII-D equilibria, perform spectral analysis, and obtain 2D electron temperature fluctuation images. The module provides a powerful data post-processing package for extracting important physics parameters from the 2D measurements, including the radial structure and poloidal mode number of Alfven eigenmodes, as well as the frequency-vs-wavenumber dispersion relationship of broadband MHD. The module propagates characterized synthetic fluctuations for the user, so one can perform forward modeling tasks with simple analytical fluctuations.

Observation of the Doubly Cabibbo-Suppressed Decay D^{+}→K^{+}π^{+}π^{-}π^{0} and Evidence for D^{+}→K^{+}ω. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2020; 125:141802. [PMID: 33064551 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.125.141802] [Citation(s) in RCA: 1] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.3] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/15/2020] [Accepted: 08/21/2020] [Indexed: 06/11/2023]
Abstract
Using 2.93 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, the first observation of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D^{+}→K^{+}π^{+}π^{-}π^{0} is reported. After removing decays that contain narrow intermediate resonances, including D^{+}→K^{+}η, D^{+}→K^{+}ω, and D^{+}→K^{+}ϕ, the branching fraction of the decay D^{+}→K^{+}π^{+}π^{-}π^{0} is measured to be (1.13±0.08_{stat}±0.03_{syst})×10^{-3}. The ratio of branching fractions of D^{+}→K^{+}π^{+}π^{-}π^{0} over D^{+}→K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}π^{0} is found to be (1.81±0.15)%, which corresponds to (6.28±0.52)tan^{4}θ_{C}, where θ_{C} is the Cabibbo mixing angle. This ratio is significantly larger than the corresponding ratios for other doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decays. The asymmetry of the branching fractions of charge-conjugated decays D^{±}→K^{±}π^{±}π^{∓}π^{0} is also determined, and no evidence for CP violation is found. In addition, the first evidence for the D^{+}→K^{+}ω decay, with a statistical significance of 3.3σ, is presented and the branching fraction is measured to be B(D^{+}→K^{+}ω)=(5.7_{-2.1}^{+2.5}_{stat}±0.2_{syst})×10^{-5}.

Scratching damages tight junctions through the Akt-claudin 1 axis in atopic dermatitis. Clin Exp Dermatol 2020; 46:74-81. [PMID: 32668051 DOI: 10.1111/ced.14380] [Citation(s) in RCA: 6] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.5] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 03/05/2020] [Revised: 07/01/2020] [Accepted: 07/09/2020] [Indexed: 12/14/2022]
Abstract
BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common, chronic, severely pruritic, eczematous skin disease that seriously deteriorates the quality of life of patients. Scratching is a cardinal symptom of AD. Although the vicious itch-scratch cycle continues and aggravates skin barrier dysfunction in AD, how scratching induces skin barrier dysfunction through tight junctions remains unclear. AIM To study the effect of scratching on tight junctions in the itch-scratch cycle. METHODS Scratching behaviour and skin barrier dysfunction on the neck and back in an AD mouse model were assessed. The expression of tight junction proteins was compared between the neck and back mice, and the mechanisms underlying the involvement of Akt/CLDN1 pathways in this process were explored. RESULTS We used oxazolone to induce AD on the neck or back of mice. There was significantly more scratching behaviour and more pronounced skin barrier dysfunction with the neck than with the back. Downregulation of claudin-1 (CLDN1) and upregulation of Akt phosphorylation in skin were well correlated with scratching behaviour in this AD model. Furthermore, SC79, an agonist of Akt phosphorylation, could downregulate CLDN1 expression in HaCaT cells. An antagonist of Akt phosphorylation (LY294002) was used to treat the AD mice; this treatment rescued CLDN1 expression through inhibiting Akt phosphorylation in skin, and importantly, also inhibited the scratching behaviour induced by AD. CONCLUSION The results reveal the underlying mechanism of tight junction damage promoted by scratching in the itch-scratch cycle of AD, and opens a new avenue to pruritus management in AD, through Akt antagonists.

W-band system-on-chip electron cyclotron emission imaging system on DIII-D. THE REVIEW OF SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS 2020; 91:093504. Abstract
Monolithic, millimeter-wave "system-on-chip" (SoC) technology has been employed in heterodyne receiver integrated circuit radiometers in a newly developed Electron Cyclotron Emission Imaging (ECEI) system on the DIII-D tokamak for 2D electron temperature profile and fluctuation evolution diagnostics. A prototype module operating in the E-band (72 GHz-80 GHz) was first employed in a 2 × 10 element array that demonstrated significant improvements over the previous quasi-optical Schottky diode mixer arrays during the 2018 operational campaign of the DIII-D tokamak. For compatibility with International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor relevant scenarios on DIII-D, the SoC ECEI system was upgraded with 20 horn-waveguide receiver modules. Each individual module contains a University of California Davis designed W-band (75 GHz-110 GHz) receiver die that integrates a broadband low noise amplifier, a double balanced down-converting mixer, and a ×4 multiplier on the local oscillator (LO) chain. A ×2 multiplier and two IF amplifiers are packaged and selected to further boost the signal strength and downconvert the signal frequency. The upgraded W-band array exhibits >30 dB additional gain and 20× improvement in noise temperature compared with the previous Schottky diode radio frequency mixer input systems; an internal 8 times multiplier chain is used to bring down the LO frequency below 12 GHz, thereby obviating the need for a large aperture for quasi-optical LO coupling and replacing it with coaxial connectors. Horn-waveguide shielding housing avoids out-of-band noise interference on each individual module. The upgraded ECEI system plays an important role for absolute electron temperature evolution and fluctuation measurements for edge and core region transport physics studies.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the early changes in serum osteoprotegerin/receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) and related indexes of calcium and phosphorus in severe burn patients. Methods: Thirty severe burn patients who met the inclusion criteria and were admitted to Tongren Hospital of Wuhan University & Wuhan Third Hospital within 8 hours post injury from June 2017 to December 2018 were recruited into severe burn group (24 males and 6 females, aged (38±13) years). Ten healthy volunteers with normal physical examination results in the Physical Examination Center of the same hospital in the same period of time were recruited into healthy control group (7 males and 3 females, aged (37±8) years). A prospective controlled study was conducted. The fasting venous blood of 5 mL was taken from each patient in severe burn group on post injury day (PID) 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28, respectively, and the fasting venous blood of 5 mL was taken from each volunteer in healthy control group. The serum osteoprotegerin, RANKL, 25 hydroxyvitamin D, and parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the RANKL/osteoprotegerin ratio was calculated. Serum albumin, serum calcium, and serum phosphorus levels were determined by bromocresol green method, methylthymol blue method, and phosphomolybdic acid method, respectively. Data were statistically analyzed with Fisher's exact probability test, analysis of variance for repeated measurement, Mann-Whitney U test, independent sample t test, and Bonferroni correction. Results: (1) The serum osteoprotegerin levels of patients in severe burn group on PID 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 were 155.11 (102.91, 187.02), 170.07 (84.60, 196.86), 174.95 (59.09, 208.35), 190.01 (47.08, 214.52), and 188.85 (58.73, 223.13) pg/mL, respectively, which were significantly higher than 33.34 (28.59, 45.68) pg/mL of volunteers in healthy control group, Z=-3.436, -4.311, -3.248, -2.811, -4.217, P<0.01. The serum levels of RANKL of patients in severe burn group on PID 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 were (1 869±791), (1 746±857), (1 781±713), (2 015±825), and (2 272±583) pg/mL, respectively, significantly higher than (49±16) pg/mL of volunteers in healthy control group, t=12.600, 10.844, 13.294, 13.041, 20.880, P<0.01. The ratios of RANKL/osteoprotegerin of patients in severe burn group on PID 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 were 12.23 (8.10, 24.73), 11.40 (8.25, 16.96), 11.15 (6.91, 38.32), 12.98 (9.22, 49.68), and 13.91 (10.29, 40.68), respectively, which were significantly higher than 1.17 (0.91, 1.74) of volunteers in healthy control group, Z=-4.560, -4.529, -4.529, -4.560, -4.623, P<0.01. (2) The serum level of 25 hydroxyvitamin D of patients in severe burn group on PID 1 was significantly lower than that of volunteers in healthy control group (Z=-2.749, P<0.01). Compared with those of volunteers in healthy control group, the serum levels of albumin of patients in severe burn group on PID 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 were significantly lower (t=-4.374, -7.689, -8.257, -7.651, -6.259, P<0.01), the serum levels of PTH were significantly elevated (Z=-4.685, -4.685, -4.685, -4.654, -4.685, P<0.01), and the serum levels of phosphorus were not changed significantly. The serum levels of calcium of patients in severe burn group on PID 1, 7, 14, and 21 were significantly lower than the level of volunteers in healthy control group (Z=-2.375, -3.455, -2.442, -2.016, P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions: The serum osteoprotegerin, RANKL, RANKL/osteoprotegerin ratio, and PTH are increased, and the serum 25 hydroxyvitamin D, albumin, and calcium are decreased in the early stage of severe burn patients, which may be the mechanism leading to bone loss in patients.

Σ^{+} and Σ[over ¯]^{-} Polarization in the J/ψ and ψ(3686) Decays. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2020; 125:052004. Abstract
From 1310.6×10^{6} J/ψ and 448.1×10^{6} ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII experiment, we report the first observation of Σ^{+} and Σ[over ¯]^{-} spin polarization in e^{+}e^{-}→J/ψ[ψ(3686)]→Σ^{+}Σ[over ¯]^{-} decays. The relative phases of the form factors ΔΦ have been measured to be (-15.5±0.7±0.5)° and (21.7±4.0±0.8)° with J/ψ and ψ(3686) data, respectively. The nonzero value of ΔΦ allows for a direct and simultaneous measurement of the decay asymmetry parameters of Σ^{+}→pπ^{0}(α_{0}=-0.998±0.037±0.009) and Σ[over ¯]^{-}→p[over ¯]π^{0}(α[over ¯]_{0}=0.990±0.037±0.011), the latter value being determined for the first time. The average decay asymmetry, (α_{0}-α[over ¯]_{0})/2, is calculated to be -0.994±0.004±0.002. The CP asymmetry A_{CP,Σ}=(α_{0}+α[over ¯]_{0})/(α_{0}-α[over ¯]_{0})=-0.004±0.037±0.010 is extracted for the first time, and is found to be consistent with CP conservation.
