Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the bacterial community diversity in Dermatophagoides farinae. METHODS Laboratory-cultured D. farinae was collected, and the composition of microbial communities was determined by sequence analyses of the V4 region in the bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) gene on an Illumina PE250 high-throughput sequencing platform. Following quality control and filtering of the raw sequence files, valid reads were obtained and subjected to operational taxonomic units (OTU) clustering and analysis of the composition of microbial communities and alpha diversity index using the Usearch software, Silva database, and Mothur software. RESULTS A total of 187 616 valid reads were obtained, and 469 OTUs were clustered based on a sequence similarity of more than 97%. OTU annotation showed that the bacteria in D. farinae belonged to 26 phyla, 43 classes, 100 orders, 167 families and 284 genera. The bacteria in D. farinae were mainly annotated to five phyla of Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Bacteroidota, Actinobacteriota, and Acidobacteriota, with Proteobacteria as the dominant phylum, and mainly annotated to five dominant genera of Ralstonia, norank-f-Mitochondria, Staphylococcus and Sphingomonas, with Wolbachia identified in the non-dominant genus. CONCLUSIONS A high diversity is identified in the composition of the bacterial community in D. farinae, and there are differences in bacterial community diversity and abundance among D. farinae.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and related factors in adults in Anhui province based on the data of Chinese Chronic Diseases and Nutrition Surveillance program (2018) in Anhui. Methods: Multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling was used to select participants aged ≥18 years. Moreover, questionnaire survey, body measurements and laboratory tests were conducted. The complex weighting method was used to estimate the prevalence of CKD in residents with different characteristics, and complex sampling data logistic regression model was used for multivariate analysis to identify related risk factors. Results: A total of 7 181 participants were included. The overall prevalence of CKD was 11.06% in adults in Anhui, and the prevalence was 12.49% in women and 9.59% in men (P<0.05). The moderate, high and very high risk for CKD progression were 8.66%, 2.02% and 0.38%, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that age (OR=1.03, 95%CI: 1.00-1.05), BMI (OR=1.05, 95%CI: 1.01-1.09), being woman (OR=1.38,95%CI: 1.22-1.55), hypertension (OR=2.50, 95%CI: 1.76-3.56), diabetes (OR=2.28, 95%CI: 1.51-3.43), dyslipidemia (OR=1.26, 95%CI: 1.11-1.43) and hyperuricemia (OR=2.16, 95%CI: 1.68-2.78) were risk factors for CKD. Conclusion: The prevalence of CKD in adults in Anhui was relatively high and age, gender, BMI, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia were found to be associated with the prevalence of CKD. To prevent CKD and its complications, attention should be paid to the management of related risk factors, including overweight and obesity, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia.

Abstract
In this study, blue perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) were prepared using didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB), which can passivate surface defects caused by the loss of surface ligands and reduce particle size distribution. After the passivation of DDAB, blue CsPbClxBr3-x PQDs dispersed in n-octane produced a more compact and uniform PQD thin film than the non-passivated ones. The resulting device showed a stabile lifetime, and an EL peak of 470 nm and a maximum EQE of 1.63% were obtained at an operating voltage of 2.6 V and a current density of 0.34 mA/cm2. This work aims to provide a simple method to prepare blue-emitting PQDs and high-performance PQD-based light-emitting devices.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and all-cause mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: A total of 17 553 patients with type 2 diabetes were recruited under the National Basic Public Health Service Project in Changshu county, Qingjiangpu district, and Huai'an district in Huai'an city of Jiangsu province as participants. Latent class analysis was applied to classify the individuals based on five socioeconomic indicators. Then, Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to estimate the associations of different levels of SES with all-cause mortality, and stratified analysis was performed according to age and area. Results: Among 100 529.08 person-years of the fo1low-up, the median follow-up time was 5.7 years, and 1 829 deaths occurred during the follow-up period. According to the relevant results of the latent class model, the model of the "three classes" was the best. The related population was then divided into low SES (8 256 people, 47.0%), medium SES (4 427 people, 25.2%), and high SES groups (4 870 people, 27.8%). Compared to patients with high SES, the multivariate-adjusted hazard ratio (95%CI) of all-cause mortality associated with low SES for males and females were 1.84 (1.53-2.21) and 1.41 (1.51-1.72), respectively. Stratified analysis showed that the hazard ration (95%CI) of all-cause mortality associated with low SES for males and females were 1.99 (1.12-2.95) and 2.01 (1.20-3.23), respectively, in people younger than 60 years old, and were 1.90 (1.57-2.31) and 1.40 (1.13-1.73) in people over 60 years old. The HR values (95%CI) for all-cause mortality associated with low SES for the male and females were 1.54 (1.17-2.04) and 1.27 (1.02-1.59) in the urban population with 2.11 (1.55-2.85) and 2.64 (1.17-3.35) in rural population, respectively. Conclusions: Lower SES increased the risk of all-cause mortality in type 2 diabetic patients, which is more significant in younger and rural populations.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most commonly diagnosed malignancy globally with a pessimistic prognosis. Previous studies have demonstrated that abnormal expression of genes in the lysine-specific histone demethylase 3 (KDM3) family with epigenetic changes and dysregulation of enzymes promotes cancer progression. In this study, multiomics analyses were utilized to analyze differential expression, prognostic value, genetic alteration, protein-protein interaction, associated biological pathways and immune cell infiltration of KDM3s in patients with HCC. KDM3A-C were significantly upregulated to different extents based on pathologic and tumor grades in patients with HCC compared to normal tissue. Of note, higher KDM3A expression was associated with poor survival in HCC patients, whereas KDM3B and KDM3C were not associated with survival. Furthermore, KDM3A-B genetic alterations had significant effects on survival in patients with HCC. Analyses of the KEGG pathway and miRNAs targets of KDM3A and KDM3B in HCC may provide potential value in tumor behaviors and treatment. The differential expression of the KDM3 family has a strongly significant correlation with the infiltration of the abundance of immune cells, including B cells, CD8+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells in HCC. This study indicates that KDM3A may have the potential to be a promising molecular target in terms of prognostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets for HCC treatment.

Abstract
The ^{13}C(α,n)^{16}O reaction is the main neutron source for the slow-neutron-capture process in asymptotic giant branch stars and for the intermediate process. Direct measurements at astrophysical energies in above-ground laboratories are hindered by the extremely small cross sections and vast cosmic-ray-induced background. We performed the first consistent direct measurement in the range of E_{c.m.}=0.24 to 1.9 MeV using the accelerators at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory and Sichuan University. Our measurement covers almost the entire intermediate process Gamow window in which the large uncertainty of the previous experiments has been reduced from 60% down to 15%, eliminates the large systematic uncertainty in the extrapolation arising from the inconsistency of existing datasets, and provides a more reliable reaction rate for the studies of the slow-neutron-capture and intermediate processes along with the first direct determination of the alpha strength for the near-threshold state.

Abstract
Background Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a common genetic disorder with markedly increased risk of coronary artery diseases (CAD), especially acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, genetic tests for FH are not always necessary in the current diagnostic criteria of FH, which might lead to underestimation of the prevalence of FH and a lack of awareness of FH-associated CAD and AMI. We aimed to explore the prevalence of genetically defined FH in the hospital-based population and to determine the impact of FH risk variants on CAD and AMI. Methods The study participants were recruited between June 24, 2019 and May 12, 2021, at a medical center in Taiwan, in cooperation with the Taiwan Precision Medicine Initiative (TPMI) project. The prevalence of FH was calculated and the effects of FH pathogenic variants on CAD and AMI were analyzed by logistic regression models and shown as ORs and 95% CI. Results The prevalence of genetically defined FH was 1.13% in the hospital-based population in Taiwan. Highest LDL and total cholesterol levels were observed in patients with LDLR rs28942084 (LDL 219.4±55.2; total cholesterol 295.8±55.4). There was an approximately 4-fold increased risk of hyperlipidemia in subjects with the LDLR rs769446356 polymorphism (OR, 4.42; 95% CI, 1.92-10.19) and AMI in individuals with the LDLR rs730882109 polymorphism (OR, 3.79; 95% CI, 2.26-6.35), and a 2-fold increased risk of CAD in those with the LDLR rs749038326 polymorphism (OR, 2.14; 95% CI, 1.31-3.50), compared with the groups without pathogenic variants of FH. Conclusions The prevalence of genetically defined FH was 1.13% in the hospital-based population in Taiwan, which was higher than the rate observed in individuals with clinically defined FH. The risk of CAD and AMI was increased to varying degrees in subjects with different FH risk alleles. Close monitoring and risk stratification strategy are essential in high-risk patients with FH risk alleles to facilitate early detection and treatments.

Abstract
This study integrates the array sensing module and the flow leakage algorithm. In this study, a real-time monitoring deep-sea pipeline damage sensing system is designed to provide decision-making parameters such as damage coordinates and damage area. The array sensor module is composed of multiple YF-S201 hall sensors and controllers. YF-S201 hall sensors are arranged inside the pipeline in an array. The flow signal in the deep-sea pipeline can be transmitted to the electronic control interface to analyze the leakage position and leakage flowrate of the pipeline. The theory of this system is based on the conservation of mass. Through the flow of each sensor, it is judged whether the pipeline is damaged. When the pipeline is not damaged, the flowrate of each sensor is almost the same. When the pipeline is damaged, the flowrate will drop significantly. When the actual size of leakage in the pipeline is 5.28 cm2, the size calculated by the flowrate of hall sensors is 2.58 cm2 in average, indicating the error between experimental data and theoretical data is 46%. When the actual size of leakage in the pipeline is 1.98 cm2, the size calculated by the flowrate of hall sensors is 1.31 cm2 in average, indicating the error between experimental data and theoretical data is 21%. This can accurately confirm the location of the broken pipeline, which is between sensor A and sensor B, so that the AUV/ROV can accurately locate and perform pipeline maintenance in real time. It is expected to be able to monitor the flowrate through the array magnetic sensing module designed in this study. It can grasp the status of deep-sea pipelines, improve the quality of deep-sea extraction and pipeline maintenance speed.

Abstract
This study uses near-field electrospinning (NFES) technology to make a novel self-powered strain sensor and applies it to the real-time monitoring of a bending structure, so that the measurement equipment can be reduced in volume. A self-powered strain sensor consists of polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) fibers, a PDMS fixed substrate, and an aluminum electrode. PVDF fibers are spun with DMSO and acetone using NFES technology, with a diameter of about 8 μm, Young's modulus of 1.1 GPa, and piezoelectric effect of up to 230 mV. The fixed substrate is a film made of PDMS by thermal curing, then adhered to the PDMS film surface of the sheet Al metal as an Al electrode, and then combined with PVDF fiber film, to become a self-powered strain sensor. As a result, the XRD β value of the self-powered strain sensor reaches 2112 and the sensitivity is increased by 20% over a traditional strain sensor. The cumulative angle algorithm can be applied to measure the angular change of the object over a unit of time or the cumulative displacement of the object over the entire period of motion. The experimental results demonstrate that the self-powered strain sensor combined with the angle accumulation algorithm may be applied to monitor the bending structure, thereby achieving continuous measurements of bending structure changes, and improving on traditional piezoelectric sensors, which can only be sensed once. In the future, self-powered strain sensors will have the ability to continuously measure in real-time, enabling the use of piezoelectric sensors for long-term monitoring of structural techniques.

Abstract
Objectives To investigate the differences between the vector vaccine ChAdOx1 nCoV-19/AZD1222 (Oxford-AstraZeneca) and mRNA-based vaccine mRNA-1273 (Moderna) in patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (AIRD), and to explore the cell-cell interactions between high and low anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG levels in patients with rheumatic arthritis (RA) using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq). Methods From September 16 to December 10, 2021, we consecutively enrolled 445 participants (389 patients with AIRD and 56 healthy controls), of whom 236 were immunized with AZD1222 and 209 with mRNA-1273. The serum IgG antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain was quantified by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay at 4-6 weeks after vaccination. Moreover, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated from RA patients at 4-6 weeks after vaccination for scRNA-seq and further analyzed by CellChat. ScRNA-seq of PBMCs samples from GSE201534 in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database were also extracted for analysis. Results The anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG seropositivity rate was 85.34% for AIRD patients and 98.20% for healthy controls. The anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG level was higher in patients receiving mRNA-1273 than those receiving AZD1222 (β: 35.25, 95% CI: 14.81-55.68, p=0.001). Prednisolone-equivalent dose >5 mg/day and methotrexate use in AIRD patients, and non-anti-tumor necrosis factor-α biologics and Janus kinase inhibitor use in RA patients were associated with inferior immunogenicity. ScRNA-seq revealed CD16-monocytes were predominant in RA patients with high anti-SARS-CoV2-IgG antibodies, and enriched pathways related to antigen presentation via MHC class II were found. HLA-DRA and CD4 interaction was enhanced in high anti-SARS-CoV2-IgG group. Conclusions mRNA-1273 and AZD1222 vaccines exhibited differential immunogenicity in AIRD patients. Enriched pathways related to antigen presentation via MHC class II in CD16-monocytes might be associated with higher anti-SARS-CoV2-IgG level in RA patients and further study is warranted.

Abstract
Objectives: To investigate the feasibility of using a porcine fibrin sealant to wrap and remove kidney calculi fragments through an isolated porcine kidney model. Methods: In the isolated porcine kidney stone model (implanted with 100 mg, air dried, ≤1 mm human stone fragments, n=6;implanted with 100 mg, air dried, ≤3 mm human stone fragments, n=6), the ureteral soft mirror combined with the 12/14Fr UAS was used to test the effect of stone extraction using only two stone extraction methods: basket extraction (control group, ≤1 mm stone fragments, n=3; ≤3 mm stone fragments, n=3) and basket-sealant extraction (test group, ≤1 mm stone fragments, n=3; ≤3 mm stone fragments, n=3). Compare the stone removal rate and operation time of the two stone retrieval methods. The sealant was put into urine of normal human and observed. Results: Porcine Fibrin Sealant can form a gel in saline and urine and adhere and wrap stone fragments. The time of procedures of test (basket-sealant) and control (basket) group in kidneys implanted with ≤ 1 mm stone fragments were (14.0±4.2) and (29.0±0.7)min (P<0.05) stone clearance rates were (90.9±1.4)% and (48.4±15.7)% (P<0.05), respectively. In kidneys implanted with ≤ 3 mm fragments, time of procedures were (12.8±4.0) and (30.0±0)min (P<0.05) Stone clearance rates were (91.1±5.0)% and (20.7±8.0)% (P<0.05). The Sealant dissolves by itself in normal human urine and normal saline at 37 ℃ for 24 hours. Conclusion: The appropriate concentration of Porcine Fibrin Sealant assisted stone retrieval may become a new method for removing small stone fragments in retrograde intrarenal surgery.

Abstract
Objectives The Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) has been widely utilized to evaluate disease activity in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) by an arbitrary cut-off of ≥4 to indicate high disease activity and initiate biological therapy. The Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score (ASDAS) is a new composite index to assess AS disease activity states that have been defined and validated. ASDAS ≥2.1 was selected as a criterion to start biological therapy. The purpose of this study was to estimate the corresponding BASDAI and ASDAS cut-off in a Taiwanese AS cohort. Methods From November 2016 to October 2018, we assessed the ASDAS and the BASDAI regularly and recorded demographic data for 489 AS patients in Taichung Veterans General hospital (TCVGH) using an electronic patient-reported data system linked to electronic medical records. We used receiver operating characteristic curves with Youden's J statistic to determine the BASDAI values that correspond to ASDAS disease activity cut-offs (i.e., 1.3, 2.1, and 3.5). Results In our population, the best trade-off BASDAI values corresponding to ASDAS -C-reactive protein (CRP) 1.3, 2.1, and 3.5 were 2.1, 3.1, and 3.7, respectively. The optimal BASDAI values corresponding to ASDAS-erythrocyte sedimentation rates 1.3, 2.1, and 3.5 were 2.0, 2.6, and 4.8, respectively. Conclusion We propose a revised BASDAI cut-off based on our data, as BASDAI scores are commonly used globally. A more reasonable, lower BASDAI cut-off to initiate or change biological therapy will bring us closer to better decisions to treat AS patients.

Abstract
Today, there is greater awareness on the association between oral diseases and respiration diseases after the outbreak of COVID-19. However, confusion regarding the oral health management and medical risk prevention for patients with chronic airway diseases has been remained among dental clinicians. Therefore, the dental experts of the Fifth General Dentistry Special Committee, Chinese Stomatological Association, combined with the experts of respiratory and critical care medicine, undertook the formation of consensus on the oral health management of patients with chronic airway diseases in order to help dental clinicians to evaluate medical risks and make better treatment decision in clinical practice. In the present consensus report, the relationship of oral diseases and chronic airway diseases, the oral health management and the treatment recommendations of patients with chronic airway diseases are provided.

Abstract
With the aging process of population in the society, the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in China is increasing continuously and the number of dental patients with CVD is increasing gradually too. Due to the lack of guidelines for dental patients with CVD in our country, how to implement standardized preoperative evaluation and perioperative risk prevention remains a problem to be solved for dentists at present. The present expert consensus was reached by combining the clinical experiences of the expert group of the Fifth General Dentistry Special Committee, Chinese Stomatological Association and respiratory and cardiology experts in diagnosis and treatment for CVD patients, and by systematically summarizing the relevant international guidelines and literature regarding the relationship between CVD and oral diseases and the diagnosis and treatment of dental patients with heart failure, hypertension and antithrombotic therapy. The consensus aims to provide, for the dental clinicians, the criteria on diagnosis and treatment of CVD in dental patients in China so as to reduce the risk and complications, and finally to improve the treatment levels of dental patients with CVD in China.

Abstract
Objective: To study the alterations of p16 gene and its expression in insulinoma and to correlate the findings with clinicopathological characteristics. Methods: Expression of p16 protein was detected in 72 insulinomas and 49 para-tumoral or normal pancreatic tissues by immunohistochemical staining. Genomic DNA was isolated from 32 tumor tissue and 17 paired pancreatic tissues and bisulfite-modified. Promoter methylation status of p16 gene was detected in 32 tumor tissue and 17 paired pancreatic tissues by methylation specific PCR. The findings were correlated with the clinicopathological features. Results: There were 30 males and 42 females in all 72 patients, aged (46.5±14.0) years. Loss or reduced expression of p16 protein was found in 42 of 72 insulinomas (58.3%) while loss or reduced expression of p16 was seen in only 34.7% (17/49) of para-tumoral or normal pancreatic tissues (χ²=6.52, P=0.011). Promoter methylation of p16 gene was found in 13 of 32 insulinomas (40.6%) and only 2 of 17 (11.8%) para-tumoral tissues (χ²=4.35, P=0.037). The expression of p16 protein in insulinoma was not associated with clinicopathological features such as gender, age, tumor size and tumor grade. Conclusions: Loss or reduced expression of p16 protein was found in insulinomas, and associated with p16 gene promoter methylation.

Abstract
Whether tumor mutational burden (TMB), which refers to the total number of somatic or acquired mutations per million bases in a particular region of the tumor genome, can serve as a predictive biomarker of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy for colon cancer remains unclear. Hereby, we retrospectively investigated the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) based on the level of TMB and tried to established a risk score model as a novel biomarker. The DNA mutation data were retrieved from the Masked Somatic Mutation in Genomic Data Commons data portal of the Cancer Genome Atlas, where the RNA sequencing data, clinical information, and survival outcomes of patients were downloaded. Patients with incomplete clinical information were excluded. The immune score and stromal score were calculated to investigate immune infiltration. The patients were grouped into TMB-high group and the TMB-low group based on the median value of TMB. An immune relevant gene set was obtained from the Immunology Database and Analysis Portal to identify immune-related DEGs. The Cox proportional hazard model and nomogram were applied to establish the risk model. In results: the TMB value was associated with age (p≤0.001), clinical stage (p≤0.001), N stage (p≤0.001), M stage (p=0.003), and immune score (p≤0.001). Twenty-nine immune-related DEGs were identified as enriched in immune response-related function or pathway and tumorigenesis signaling. Nine of 29 were determined to establish a riskScore model. The riskScore suggested a positive relationship with the TMB value (p=0.033), immune score (p≤0.001), and tumor immune dysfunction and exclusion (TIDE) (p=0.002) and presented an independent prognostic factor (p≤0.001, HR=1.04), which predicted the overall survival with good specificity. We concluded that the combination of TMB with transcriptome expression has a predictive and prognostic value for patients treated with ICIs.

Abstract
Establishing the different feeding trajectories based on daily enteral feeding data in preterm infants at different gestational ages (GAs), may help to identify the risks and extrauterine growth restriction (EUGR) outcomes associated with the adverse feeding pattern. In a single center, we retrospectively included 625 infants born at 23-30 weeks of gestation who survived to term-equivalent age (TEA) from 2009 to 2020. The infants were designated into three GA groups: 23-26, 27-28, and 29-30 weeks. The daily enteral feeding amounts in the first 56 postnatal days were analyzed to determine the feeding trajectories. The primary outcomes were EUGR in body weight and head circumference calculated, respectively, by the changes between birth and TEA. Clustering analysis identified two feeding trajectories, namely the improving and adverse patterns in each GA group. The adverse feeding pattern that occurred in 49%, 20%, and 17% of GA 23-26, 27-28, and 29-30 weeks, respectively, was differentiated from the improving feeding pattern as early as day 7 in infants at GA 23-26 and 27-28 weeks, in contrast to day 21 in infants at GA 29-30 weeks. The adverse feeding patterns were associated with sepsis, respiratory, and gastrointestinal morbidities at GA 23-26 weeks; sepsis, hemodynamic and gastrointestinal morbidities at GA 27-28 weeks; and preeclampsia, respiratory, and gastrointestinal morbidities at GA 29-30 weeks. Using the improving feeding group as a reference, the adverse feeding group showed significantly higher adjusted odds ratios of EUGR in body weight and head circumference in infants at GA 23-26 and 27-28 weeks. Identifying the early-life adverse feeding trajectories may help recognize the related EUGR outcomes of preterm infants in a GA-related manner.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most common cancer globally, and liver is one of the most commonly injured organs after blunt abdominal trauma. The traumatic liver injury-HCC risk relationship remains unclear.We extracted data of patients with traumatic liver injury between 2000 and 2013 from Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database (n = 15,966) and those of age-, gender-, occupation-, and index year-matched individuals without traumatic liver injury from the general population (n = 63,864). Cox proportional hazard models were employed to determine the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for HCC occurrence in the traumatic liver injury cohort compared with that in the comparison cohort.Patients with traumatic liver injury had an increased HCC risk (adjusted HR 2.13, 95% CI 1.59-2.85); this increased risk was more pronounced within 1 year after injury (adjusted HR 8.84, 95% CI 4.29-18.2). After >1 year of injury, HCC risk remained 1.53-fold higher in patients with traumatic liver injury than in those without traumatic liver injury (95% CI 1.08-2.15).People with traumatic liver injury demonstrate a high HCC risk, particularly within the first year of the injury.

Abstract
Objective: To systematically evaluate the acceptance of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)among men who have sex with men (MSM) in China, so as to provide reference for the promotion of preventive drug use before human immunodeficiency virus exposure in China. Methods: By searching the databases of China national knowledge infrastructure, VIP database, Wanfan knowledge service platform, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and The Cochrane Library with key words of "men who have sex with men" "pre-exposure prophylaxis" "PrEP" and "MSM". The literature on the willingness of Chinese MSM population to accept PrEP was systematically collected, and the data of the literature meeting the inclusion criteria were extracted for Meta analysis. Results: A total of 12 articles were selected in this study, including 6 articles in English and 6 in Chinese. The score of bias risk assessment of eligible articles was 14-18, which was more than 70% of the total score. The total number of samples was 11 269. The overall acceptance rate of PrEP was 0.77(95%CI:0.71-0.82). In subgroup analysis, the acceptance rates of different nationalities, marriage, household registration, age, education background, income, sexual orientation, sexual behavior and awareness of PrEP were statistically significant. Conclusion: In general, the acceptance rate of PrEP in MSM population is higher, but the awareness rate is low. There are differences in the acceptance rate among different groups.

Abstract
Physiological stress triggers aversive learning that profoundly alters animal behavior. Systemic mitochondrial disruption induces avoidance of C. elegans to non-pathogenic food bacteria. Mutations in cat-2 and dat-1, which control dopamine synthesis and reuptake, respectively, impair this learned bacterial avoidance, suggesting that dopaminergic modulation is essential. Cell-specific rescue experiments indicate that dopamine likely acts from the CEP and ADE neurons to regulate learned bacterial avoidance. We find that mutations in multiple dopamine receptor genes, including dop-1, dop-2 and dop-3, reduced learned bacterial avoidance. Our work reveals a role for dopamine signaling in C. elegans learned avoidance behavior induced by mitochondrial stress.

Abstract
Oxidative stress is mainly caused by intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, which is highly associated with normal physiological homeostasis and the pathogenesis of diseases, particularly ocular diseases. Autophagy is a self-clearance pathway that removes oxidized cellular components and regulates cellular ROS levels. ROS can modulate autophagy activity through transcriptional and posttranslational mechanisms. Autophagy further triggers transcription factor activation and degrades impaired organelles and proteins to eliminate excessive ROS in cells. Thus, autophagy may play an antioxidant role in protecting ocular cells from oxidative stress. Nevertheless, excessive autophagy may cause autophagic cell death. In this review, we summarize the mechanisms of interaction between ROS and autophagy and their roles in the pathogenesis of several ocular diseases, including glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy (DR), and optic nerve atrophy, which are major causes of blindness. The autophagy modulators used to treat ocular diseases are further discussed. The findings of the studies reviewed here might shed light on the development and use of autophagy modulators for the future treatment of ocular diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematous (SLE) are autoimmune rheumatic diseases that share a complex genetic background and common clinical features. This study's purpose was to construct machine learning (ML) models for the genomic prediction of RA and SLE. METHODS A total of 2,094 patients with RA and 2,190 patients with SLE were enrolled from the Taichung Veterans General Hospital cohort of the Taiwan Precision Medicine Initiative. Genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data were obtained using Taiwan Biobank version 2 array. The ML methods used were logistic regression (LR), random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), gradient tree boosting (GTB), and extreme gradient boosting (XGB). SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP) values were calculated to clarify the contribution of each SNPs. Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) imputation was performed using the HLA Genotype Imputation with Attribute Bagging package. RESULTS Compared with LR (area under the curve [AUC] = 0.8247), the RF approach (AUC = 0.9844), SVM (AUC = 0.9828), GTB (AUC = 0.9932), and XGB (AUC = 0.9919) exhibited significantly better prediction performance. The top 20 genes by feature importance and SHAP values included HLA class II alleles. We found that imputed HLA-DQA1*05:01, DQB1*0201 and DRB1*0301 were associated with SLE; HLA-DQA1*03:03, DQB1*0401, DRB1*0405 were more frequently observed in patients with RA. CONCLUSIONS We established ML methods for genomic prediction of RA and SLE. Genetic variations at HLA-DQA1, HLA-DQB1, and HLA-DRB1 were crucial for differentiating RA from SLE. Future studies are required to verify our results and explore their mechanistic explanation.

Abstract
IMPORTANCE Statins are the drug class most commonly used to treat hyperlipidemia. Recently, they have been used during pregnancy for the prevention or treatment of preeclampsia. However, the safety of statin use during pregnancy has been questioned, and the sample sizes of most previous studies have been small. OBJECTIVE To examine the perinatal outcomes among offspring associated with maternal use of statins during pregnancy. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS This retrospective cohort study included 1 443 657 pregnant women 18 years of age or older with their first infant born during the period from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2014. Data for this study were taken from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. Statistical analysis was performed from April 7, 2020, to July 31, 2021. EXPOSURES Maternal statin use during pregnancy. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES Women who have received a diagnosis of hyperlipidemia before pregnancy and who were receiving prescription statins during pregnancy were the statin-exposed group. Data on congenital anomalies, birth weight, gestational age, preterm birth, low birth weight, very low birth weight, fetal distress, and Apgar score were compared between participants with and partcipants without statin exposure during pregnancy. Risk ratios (RRs) were calculated by multivariable analyses using Poisson regression models to adjust for potential confounders. Subgroup analysis was performed to compare offspring of women who used statins for more than 3 months prior to pregnancy and maintained or stopped statin use after pregnancy. RESULTS A total of 469 women (mean [SD] age, 32.6 [5.4] years; mean [SD] gestational age, 38.4 [1.6] weeks) who used statins during pregnancy and 4690 age-matched controls (mean [SD] age, 32.0 [4.9] years; mean [SD] gestational age, 37.3 [2.4] weeks) with no statin exposure during pregnancy were enrolled. After controlling for maternal comorbidities and age, low birth weight was more common among offspring in the statin-exposed group (RR, 1.51 [95% CI, 1.05-2.16]), with a greater chance of preterm birth (RR, 1.99 [95% CI, 1.46-2.71]), and a lower 1-minute Apgar score (RR, 1.83 [95% CI, 1.04-3.20]). Congenital anomalies were not associated with statin exposure during pregnancy. In addition, multivariable analysis showed that there was no association between statin use for periconceptual hyperlipidemia and adverse perinatal outcomes among women who had used statins prior to pregnancy. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE This study suggests that statins may be safe when used during pregnancy because there was no association with congenital anomalies, but caution is needed because of an increased risk of low birth weight and preterm labor. The data also suggest that statins could be safely used during pregnancy for women with long-term use of statins before pregnancy.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the effect of robotic assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with different approaches on early postoperative effects. Methods: Totally 44 patients (average age of 65.9 years, range: 46 to 81 years) underwent robotic assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy by a single operator at Department of Urology, Peking Union Medical Collage Hospital from March 2018 to March 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The mean age was 65.9 years (range: 46 to 81 years), including 24 cases in the anterior bladder approach group (anterior approach group) and 20 cases in the posterior bladder approach group (posterior approach group). The preoperative clinical data, perioperative related data and postoperative urinary control recovery were compared between the two groups by t test, χ2 test or Fisher exact test. Results: In terms of clinical data, there was no difference in age, prostate volume, preoperative prostate specific antigen and Gleason score(all P>0.05). There was no significant difference in operation time ((184±43) minutes vs. (193±42) minutes, t=-0.599, P=0.55), bleeding volume ((218±88) ml vs. (225±115) ml, t=-0.244, P=0.81), postoperative stage (T2/T3: 15/9 vs. 12/8, χ²=0.029, P=0.87) and positive rate of cutting edge (29.2% (7/24) vs. 30.0% (6/20), χ²=0.004, P=0.95). In terms of postoperative urinary control, patient rates who achieved urinary control immediately after extubation was significantly higher for the posterior approach group than the anterior approach group (30.0% (6/20) vs. 4.2% (1/24), P=0.04). There was no significant difference between two groups for those who achieved urinary control 3 months after operation (6 cases vs. 11 cases, P=0.06), 6 months after operation (20 cases vs. 19 cases, P=0.36) and those who achieved urinary control 12 months after operation (23 cases vs. 19 cases, P=1). Conclusion: For robotic assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, the posterior approach does not prolong the operation time, does not increase the amount of bleeding, and improves the short-term postoperative urinary control.

Abstract
(Quasi-)one-dimensional systems exhibit various fascinating properties such as Luttinger liquid behavior, Peierls transition, novel topological phases, and the accommodation of unique quasiparticles (e.g., spinon, holon, and soliton, etc.). Here we study molybdenum blue bronze A0.3MoO3 (A = K, Rb), a canonical quasi-one-dimensional charge-density-wave material, using laser-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. Our experiment suggests that the normal phase of A0.3MoO3 is a prototypical Luttinger liquid, from which the charge-density-wave emerges with decreasing temperature. Prominently, we observe strong renormalizations of band dispersions, which are recognized as the spectral function of Holstein polaron derived from band-selective electron-phonon coupling in the system. We argue that the strong electron-phonon coupling plays an important role in electronic properties and the charge-density-wave transition in blue bronzes. Our results not only reconcile the long-standing heavy debates on the electronic properties of blue bronzes but also provide a rare platform to study interesting excitations in Luttinger liquid materials.

Abstract
Fluorine is one of the most interesting elements in nuclear astrophysics, where the ^{19}F(p,α)^{16}O reaction is of crucial importance for Galactic ^{19}F abundances and CNO cycle loss in first generation Population III stars. As a day-one campaign at the Jinping Underground Nuclear Astrophysics experimental facility, we report direct measurements of the essential ^{19}F(p,αγ)^{16}O reaction channel. The γ-ray yields were measured over E_{c.m.}=72.4-344 keV, covering the Gamow window; our energy of 72.4 keV is unprecedentedly low, reported here for the first time. The experiment was performed under the extremely low cosmic-ray-induced background environment of the China JinPing Underground Laboratory, one of the deepest underground laboratories in the world. The present low-energy S factors deviate significantly from previous theoretical predictions, and the uncertainties are significantly reduced. The thermonuclear ^{19}F(p,αγ)^{16}O reaction rate has been determined directly at the relevant astrophysical energies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/PURPOSE The in-hospital length of stay (LOS) among very-low-birth-weight (VLBW, BW < 1500 g) infants is an index for care quality and affects medical resource allocation. We aimed to analyze the LOS among VLBW infants in Taiwan, and to develop and compare the performance of different LOS prediction models using machine learning (ML) techniques. METHODS This retrospective study illustrated LOS data from VLBW infants born between 2016 and 2018 registered in the Taiwan Neonatal Network. Among infants discharged alive, continuous variables (LOS or postmenstrual age, PMA) and categorical variables (late and non-late discharge group) were used as outcome variables to build prediction models. We used 21 early neonatal variables and six algorithms. The performance was compared using the coefficient of determination (R2) for continuous variables and area under the curve (AUC) for categorical variables. RESULTS A total of 3519 VLBW infants were included to illustrate the profile of LOS. We found 59% of mortalities occurred within the first 7 days after birth. The median of LOS among surviving and deceased infants was 62 days and 5 days. For the ML prediction models, 2940 infants were enrolled. Prediction of LOS or PMA had R2 values less than 0.6. Among the prediction models for prolonged LOS, the logistic regression (ROC: 0.724) and random forest (ROC: 0.712) approach had better performance. CONCLUSION We provide a benchmark of LOS among VLBW infants in each gestational age group in Taiwan. ML technique can improve the accuracy of the prediction model of prolonged LOS of VLBW.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Biliary tract cancer (BTC) is rare and has limited treatment options. We aimed to examine aspirin use on cancer-specific survival in various BTC subtypes, including gallbladder cancer, ampulla of Vater cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma. APPROACH AND RESULTS Nationwide prospective cohort of newly diagnosed BTC between 2007 and 2015 were included and followed until December 31, 2017. Three nationwide databases, namely the Cancer Registration, National Health Insurance, and Death Certification System, were used for computerized data linkage. Aspirin use was defined as one or more prescriptions, and the maximum defined daily dose was used to evaluate the dose-response relationship. Cox's proportional hazards models were applied for estimating HRs and 95% CIs. Analyses accounted for competing risk of cardiovascular deaths, and landmark analyses to avoid immortal time bias were performed. In total, 2,519 of patients with BTC were exposed to aspirin after their diagnosis (15.7%). After a mean follow-up of 1.59 years, the 5-year survival rate was 27.4%. The multivariate-adjusted HR for postdiagnosis aspirin users, as compared with nonusers, was 0.55 (95% CI: 0.51 to 0.58) for BTC-specific death. Adjusted HRs for BTC-specific death were 0.53 (95% CI: 0.48 to 0.59) and 0.42 (95% CI: 0.31 to 0.58) for ≤ 1 and > 1 maximum defined daily dose, respectively, and showed a dose-response trend (P < 0.001; nonusers as a reference). Cancer-specific mortality was lower with postdiagnosis aspirin use in patients with all major BTC subtypes. CONCLUSIONS The nationwide study revealed that postdiagnosis aspirin use was associated with improved BTC-specific mortality of various subtypes. The findings suggest that additional randomized trials are required to investigate aspirin's efficacy in BTC.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer liver metastasis can be categorized as initially resectable and initially unresectable liver metastasis. Patients with initially resectable colorectal cancer liver metastases may benefit from hepatic surgery significantly,while those with initially unresectable metastases also have an opportunity to be treated radically by liver surgery after conversion therapy,so as to have a prolonged survival time. It is crucial to choose the right time and right way of surgical intervention. The timing depends on determination of tumor resectability,controlling of pre-operative systemic therapy and evaluation of liver function after systemic treatment. The selection of right way contains the election between synchronous operation and staged operation, resection margin and using of technologies such as laparoscope and associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy. This paper aims to explore the optimal timing for operation and the approaches of surgical method based on the research progress worldwide for prolonging the survival time of patients with colorectal cancer multiple liver metastases.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the feasibility and oncological efficacy of structuring process approach to laparoscopic anatomical liver central lobectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods: The clinical data of 65 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who underwent laparoscopic anatomical liver central lobectomy at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital from April 2017 to April 2021 was retrospectively analyzed. There were 39 males and 26 females,aged (M(QR)) 61.2 (29.5) years (range:25 to 80 years).The body mass index was (24.2±3.8) kg/m2 (range:19.5 to 26.1 kg/m2) and the tumor diameter was (6.7±2.9)cm(range:3.4 to 10.5 cm).This structuring process approach was designed using a series of main vessels as the plane markers, along which liver transection was carried out. The perioperative indicators and early oncological efficacy were then analyzed. Results: All the procedures were successfully carried out laparoscopically. The operative time was (190.5±70.4) minutes (range:90 to 280 minutes). The blood loss was (370.6±120.8)ml(range:100 to 1 050 ml). No patient received blood transfusion or converted to laparotomy. Postoperative complications occurred in 8 cases(12.3%). Postoperative hospital stay was (7.5±2.5) days(range:5 to 18 days).There was no perioperative death and rehospitalization within 30 days. Pathological study showed all the operations to be R0 resections, the average surgical margin was (2.4±1.9)cm(range:0.5 to 3.1 cm).The tumor recurrence rate was 12.3% after 1 year follow-up. Conclusion: Structuring process approach to laparoscopic anatomical liver central lobectomy could be used to treat patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide in 2020. Colonoscopy and the fecal immunochemical test (FIT) are commonly used as CRC screening tests, but both types of tests possess different limitations. Recently, liquid biopsy-based DNA methylation test has become a powerful tool for cancer screening, and the detection of abnormal DNA methylation in stool specimens is considered as an effective approach for CRC screening. The aim of this study was to develop a novel approach in biomarker selection based on integrating primary biomarkers from genome-wide methylation profiles and secondary biomarkers from CRC comorbidity analytics. A total of 125 differential methylated probes (DMPs) were identified as primary biomarkers from 352 genome-wide methylation profiles. Among them, 51 biomarkers, including 48 hypermethylated DMPs and 3 hypomethylated DMPs, were considered as suitable DMP candidates for CRC screening tests. After comparing with commercial kits, three genes (ADHFE1, SDC2, and PPP2R5C) were selected as candidate epigenetic biomarkers for CRC screening tests. Methylation levels of these three biomarkers were significantly higher for patients with CRC than normal subjects. The sensitivity and specificity of integrating methylated ADHFE1, SDC2, and PPP2R5C for CRC detection achieved 84.6% and 92.3%, respectively. Through an integrated approach using genome-wide DNA methylation profiles and electronic medical records, we could design a biomarker panel that allows for early and accurate noninvasive detection of CRC using stool samples.

Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of lycopene (LYC) on mitochondrial oxidative injury and dysfunction in the liver of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1)-exposed broilers. A total of 192 healthy 1-day-old male broilers were randomly divided into 3 groups with 8 replicates of 8 birds each. Birds in the 3 groups were fed basal diet (control), basal diet with 100 µg/kg AFB1, and basal diet with 100 µg/kg AFB1 and 200 mg/kg LYC, respectively. The experiment lasted 42 d. The results showed that AFB1 decreased average daily body weight gain (ADG), average daily feed intake, and gain to feed ratio (G :F) compared to the control group, the LYC supplementation increased ADG and G/F compared to AFB1 group (P < 0.05). Broilers in the AFB1 group had lower mitochondrial glutathione (mGSH) concentration and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD), and thioredoxin reductase activities, and higher hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) concentrations than the control group (P < 0.05). The LYC increased mGSH concentration and GSH-Px and MnSOD activities, and decreased H2O2 and ROS concentrations compared to AFB1 group (P < 0.05). Broilers fed the AFB1 diet showed increased mitochondrial swelling and decreased adenosine triphosphate concentration than the control group, and LYC had opposite effects (P < 0.05). The AFB1 decreased the activities of mitochondrial electron transfer chain (ETC) complexes I, II, III, and V, downregulated the mRNA expression levels of hepatic MnSOD, thioredoxin 2, thioredoxin reductase, peroxiredoxin-3, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1α, nuclear respiratory factor 1, and mitochondrial transcription factor A compared with the control group (P < 0.05), and LYC increased activities of mitochondrial ETC complexes III and V, and upregulated mRNA expression levels of these genes in comparison to AFB1 group (P < 0.05). In conclusion, the LYC protected broilers from AFB1-induced liver mitochondrial oxidative injury and dysfunction by stimulating mitochondrial antioxidant capacity and maintaining mitochondrial biogenesis.

Gastric varices are one of the serious complications of liver cirrhotic portal hypertension. Balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (BRTO), as an interventional treatment method, can effectively prevent and control gastroesophagel variceal bleeding. Simultaneously, it has an obvious effect in the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy and liver function improvement. This article reviews the clinical application and research progress of BRTO at home and abroad in recent years, with a view to provide reference for clinical treatment.

Abstract
Objectives: Genetic variants and obesity are risk factors for hyperuricemia (HUA). Recent genome-wide association studies have identified ABCG2 rs2231142 as one of the most prominent genetic variants for HUA in an East Asian population. Nevertheless, no large-scale studies have demonstrated any interactive effects between this variant and obesity on serum urate level in Asians. This study aimed to determine the interaction of ABCG2 rs2231142 variant and body mass index (BMI) and its effect on risk of HUA in an East Asian population. Methods: The study was conducted using the Taiwan Biobank database, a population-based biomedical research database of patients with Taiwanese Han Chinese ancestry aged 30–70years between September 2014 and May 2017. Detailed physical information on participants were collected by questionnaires and genotyping using Affymetrix TWB 650K SNP chip. The primary outcome was HUA, defined as a serum uric acid level>7.0mg/dl. Odds ratio (OR) of HUA was analyzed using logistic regression models and the effects of interaction between ABCG2 rs2231142 variants and BMI on serum uric acid level were explored. Results: We identified 25,245 subjects, 4,228 (16.75%) of whom had HUA. The prevalence of HUA was 30% in men and 3.8% in women. The risk of HUA was significantly associated with ABCG2 rs2231142 risk T allele, with more HUA in TT genotype (OR: 2.40, 95% CI: 2.11–2.72, p<0.001) and TG genotype (OR: 1.64, 95% CI: 1.51–1.78, p<0.001) in men, and TT genotype (OR: 2.42, 95% CI: 1.83–3.20, p<0.001) and TG genotype (OR: 1.82, 95% CI: 1.46–2.23, p<0.001) in women, compared with their counterparts. Moreover, we found a strong genetic-environmental interaction associated with the risk of HUA. There was increased risk of HUA by the interaction of ABCG2 rs2231142 variant and BMI for TT genotype (OR: 7.42, 95% CI: 2.54–21.7, p<0.001) and TG genotype (OR: 4.25, 95% CI: 2.13–8.47, p<0.001) in men compared with the GG genotype in men, and for TT genotype (OR: 25.43, 95% CI: 3.75–172.41, p<0.001) and TG genotype (OR: 3.05, 95% CI: 0.79–11.71, p=0.011) in women compared with the GG genotype in women. Conclusion: The risk of HUA was markedly increased by the interaction of ABCG2 rs2231142 variant and BMI, both in men and in women. Body weight control and reduction in BMI are recommended in high-risk patients with the ABCG2 rs2231142 risk T allele.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the related mechanisms of biological root resorption in decidual teeth by studying the biological effect of simulated occlusal force on the periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSC) at different stages of root absorption. Methods: According to the tooth type and root absorption degree, healthy retained deciduous incisors and healthy first premolars that needed to be removed for orthodontic treatment were collected and divided into three groups with six teeth in each group: the deciduous unabsorbed group (UN group), the absorbed group (R group) and the permanent teeth group (P group). PDLSC was isolated from periodontal ligament and cultured. PDLSC of three groups were loaded with dynamic pressure of 0-45, 0-90, 0-135, 0-180, 0-225 and 0-270 kPa, respectively. The proliferation ability was detected by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) technique on day 1 to day 7, respectively. The apoptosis levels of PDLSC after loading with dynamic pressure of 0-45, 0-90, 0-135, 0-180 and 0-225 kPa were observed by the flow cytometry. The changes of microfilaments were observed by fibrous actin (F-actin) staining after the cytokeleton was subjected to dynamic pressure of 0-90 kPa. Results: PDLSC of three groups exhibited various proliferation abilities to dynamic pressure. The A values in the UN group and R group were significantly higher than those in the P group and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the UN group and the R group (P>0.05). The A values of PDLSC in UN group and R group under dynamic pressures of 0-45, 0-90, 0-135 and 0-180 kPa had no statistical significance compared with the control group unloading dynamic pressure (P>0.05). However, under 0-225 and 0-270 kPa dynamic pressures, the A values at the day 3 to day 7 were statistically significant (P<0.05). The A values of PDLSC in P group under 0-45, 0-90, 0-135, 0-180 and 0-225 kPa dynamic pressures for 1 to 7 days were no statistically significant difference compared with the control group (P>0.05). The A value in P group under the 0-270 kPa was statistically significant only on day 3 (1.386±0.131) and day 5 to day 7 (1.728±0.226, 2.029±0.168 and 2.263±0.210, respectively)(P<0.05). The result of apoptosis showed that the A values of PDLSC in UN group, R group and P group were significantly increased under 0-90, 0-135, 0-180 kPa and above dynamic pressures, respectively (P<0.05) compared with the control group unloading dynamic pressure. Under 0-90 kPa dynamic pressure, F-actin fluorescence staining samples in three groups all showed green filaments which were arranged along the long axis of the cells in the R group and the P group, while some fibers in the UN group were closely arranged and promoted stress fiber assembly. Conclusions: The biological characteristics of PDLSC at different root absorption stages were changed when they were stimulated by mechanical stress, and PDLSC of the deciduous teeth at the root unabsorption stage were more sensitive to mechanical stress stimulation.

Abstract
Objectives To investigate factors associated with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods We conducted a nationwide, population-based, case-control study using Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database for 2003-2013. From 2004 to 2012, we identified 108,319 newly diagnosed RA patients without previous MACEs, of whom 7,580 patients (7.0%) developed MACEs during follow-up. From these incident RA patients, we included 5,994 MACE cases and 1:4 matched 23,976 non-MACE controls for analysis. The associations of MACEs with comorbidities and use of anti-rheumatic medications within 1 year before the index date were examined using conditional logistic regression analyses. Results Using multivariable conditional logistic regression analysis, the risk of MACE in RA patients was associated with use of golimumab [odd's ratio (OR), 0.09; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.01-0.67], abatacept (OR, 0.13; 95% CI, 0.02-0.93), hydroxychloroquine (OR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.82-0.99), methotrexate (OR, 0.72; 95% CI, 0.64-0.81), cyclosporin (OR, 1.43; 95% CI, 1.07-1.91), nonsteroidal anti-inflammation drugs (NSAIDs) (OR, 1.36; 95% CI, 1.27-1.46), antiplatelet agent (OR, 2.47; 95% CI, 2.31-2.63), hypertension (without anti-hypertensive agents: OR, 1.04; 95% CI, 0.96-1.12; with anti-hypertensive agents: OR, 1.47; 95% CI, 1.36-1.59), diabetes (OR, 1.27; 95% CI, 1.18-1.37), hyperlipidemia without lipid-lowering agents (OR, 1.09; 95% CI, 1.01-1.17), ischemic heart disease (OR, 1.20; 95% CI, 1.10-1.31), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (OR, 1.12; 95% CI, 1.03-1.23) in the parsimonious model. The risk of MACE in RA patients also increased markedly in participants younger than 65 years with some comorbidities. Conclusions This population-based case-control study revealed that the use of golimumab, abatacept, hydroxychloroquine, and methotrexate were associated with a decreased risk of MACE development in newly diagnosed RA patients, while the use of cyclosporin, NSAIDs, and antiplatelet agents, and comorbidities, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia without lipid-lowering agent therapy, ischemic heart disease, and COPD, were associated with an increased risk of MACE development in RA patients.

Abstract
Information on genetic variants associated with elevated serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels remains limited. A genome-wide association study was performed to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with ALT levels. The ALT-associated SNP was further evaluated for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk. A cohort of 892 anti-HCV seropositive patients was used for genome-wide SNP array to examine the associations with baseline ALT levels. SNPs <10-5 were further tested for associations with serial ALT levels then validated in 486 anti-HCV seropositives. Multinomial logistic regressions were used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals of SNPs associated with ALT. The SNP was evaluated for HCC risk by using Cox's proportional hazards models. After quality control, 803 participants with 564,464 SNPs were included in the analysis. Of these, 12 SNPs were associated with ALT (p < 10-5 ). Among the participants, 158 (19.7%) had ALT persistently ≤15 U/L, 327 (40.7%) ever >15 U/L but never >45 U/L, and 318 (39.6%) ever >45 U/L during follow-up. The rs568800 was associated with serial ALT levels, and this was replicated in the external population significantly (p < .05). The A allele (vs C) of rs568800 was associated with ALT >15 U/L but ≤45 U/L and ALT >45 U/L, with the adjusted ORs of 1.41 (1.11-1.78) and 1.86 (1.34-2.60), respectively. The adjusted HRs for HCC were 2.09 (0.90-4.89) for AC and 2.64 (1.13-6.17) for AA (CC as a reference). In conclusion, the rs568800 was associated with serum ALT levels and HCC risk. Clinical utility should be evaluated among patients who have received antivirals.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The benefit and the risk profile of Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKRS) for intracerebral cavernoma remains incompletely defined in part due to the natural history of low incidence of bleeding and spontaneous regression of this vascular malformation. In this study, we retrieved cases from a prospectively collected database to assess the outcome of intracerebral cavernoma treated with GKRS using a double blinded review process for treatment. METHODS From 2003 to 2018, there were 94 cases of cavernoma treated by GKRS in the doubly blinded assessments by two experienced neurological and approved for GKRS treatment. All the patients received GKRS with margin dose of 11-12 (Gray) Gy and afterwards were assessed for neurological outcome, radiologic response, and quality of life. RESULTS The median age of the patients was 48 (15-85) years with median follow up of 77 (26-180) months post SRS. The mean target volume was 1.93 ± 3.45 cc. In those who has pre-SRS epilepsy, 7 of 16 (43.7%) achieved seizure freedom (Engel I/II) and 9 of 16 (56.3%) achieved decreased seizures (Engel III) after SRS. Rebleeding occurred in 2 cases (2.1%) at 13 and 52 months post SRS. The radiologic assessment demonstrated 20 (21.3%) cases of decreased cavernoma volume, 69 (73.4%) were stable, and 5 (7.3%) increased size. Eighty-seven of 94 (92.5%) cases at the last follow up achieve improvement in their quality of life, but 7 cases (7.4%) showed a deterioration. In statistical analysis, the effective seizure control class (Engel I/II) was highly correlated with patient harboring a single lesion (p < 0.05) and deep seated location of the cavernoma (p < 0.01). New neurological deficits were highly correlated with decreased mental (p < 0.001) and physical (p < 0.05) components of quality of life testing, KPS (p < 0.001), deep seated location (p < 0.01), and increased nidus volume (p < 0.05). Quality of life deterioration either in physical component (p < 0.01), mental component (p < 0.01), and KPS (p < 0.05) was highly correlated with increased cavernoma volume. CONCLUSION Low margin dose GKRS for intracerebral cavernoma offers reasonable seizure control and improved quality of life while conferring a low risk of treatment complications including adverse radiation effect.

Abstract
Abstract Objective Based on the theory of biomechanics, the finite element method was used to study the injury characteristics of different parts of brain hit by fist with different force and to predict the risk of craniocerebral injury, in order to provide reference for actual medical protection and forensic identification. Methods The finite element model of fist was constructed by using DICOM data modeling method and related software, and the effective mass and speed of fist were used to represent the kinetic energy of fist, and combined with human finite element model THUMS 4.02, the characteristics of craniocerebral injury caused by frontal and lateral blows were parametrically simulated. Results The probability of direct death from a blow to the head was low, but as fist power increased, so did the risk of craniocerebral injury. The characteristics of craniocerebral injury were also significantly different with the different fist hitting head locations. When the frontal area was attacked, the maximum equivalent stress of skull was 122.40 MPa, while that of brain tissue was 4.31 kPa. When the temporal area was attacked, the maximum equivalent stress of skull was 71.53 MPa, while that of brain tissue was 7.09 kPa. Conclusion The characteristics and risks of skull fracture and brain tissue injury are different when different parts of the brain are hit by fist. When the frontal area is hit, the risk of skull fracture is significantly higher than when the temporal area is hit. The risk of brain tissue injury is the opposite. The position with the highest probability of skull fracture is generally the place where the skull is directly impacted, and with the conduction of stress waves, it will spread to other parts of the skull, while the position with the highest risk of brain tissue injury is not the place where the brain is directly impacted.

Abstract
Simple Summary β-escin, a component of horse chestnut seed extract, was first identified as an inhibitor of ovarian cancer (OvCa) adhesion/invasion in our high-throughput screening program using a three-dimensional organotypic model assembled from primary human cells and extracellular matrix. The goal of the study presented here is to determine if β-escin and structurally-similar compounds have a therapeutic potential against OvCa metastasis. β-escin and cardiac glycosides inhibit ovarian cancer adhesion/invasion to the omental microenvironment in vivo, and β-escin inhibits ovarian cancer metastasis in the prevention and intervention setting. Additionally, β-escin was found to decrease the stemness of ovarian cancer cells, inhibit extracellular matrix production in the tumor microenvironment, and inhibit HIF1α stability in ovarian cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment. This study reveals that the natural compound β-escin has therapeutic potential because of its ability to prevent OvCa dissemination by targeting both cancer and stromal cells in the OvCa tumor microenvironment. Abstract The high mortality of OvCa is caused by the wide dissemination of cancer within the abdominal cavity. OvCa cells metastasize to the peritoneum, which is covered by mesothelial cells, and invade into the underlying stroma, composed of extracellular matrices (ECM) and stromal cells. In a study using a three-dimensional quantitative high-throughput screening platform (3D-qHTS), we found that β-escin, a component of horse chestnut seed extract, inhibited OvCa adhesion/invasion. Here, we determine whether β-escin and structurally similar compounds have a therapeutic potential against OvCa metastasis. Different sources of β-escin and horse chestnut seed extract inhibited OvCa cell adhesion/invasion, both in vitro and in vivo. From a collection of 160 structurally similar compounds to β-escin, we found that cardiac glycosides inhibited OvCa cell adhesion/invasion and proliferation in vitro, and inhibited adhesion/invasion and metastasis in vivo. Mechanistically, β-escin and the cardiac glycosides inhibited ECM production in mesothelial cells and fibroblasts. The oral administration of β-escin inhibited metastasis in both OvCa prevention and intervention mouse models. Specifically, β-escin inhibited ECM production in the omental tumors. Additionally, the production of HIF1α-targeted proteins, lactate dehydrogenase A, and hexokinase 2 in omental tumors was blocked by β-escin. This study reveals that the natural compound β-escin has a therapeutic potential because of its ability to prevent OvCa dissemination by targeting both cancer and stromal cells in the OvCa tumor microenvironment.

Abstract
Although colloidal lead halide perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) exhibit desirable emitter characteristics with high quantum yields and narrow bandwidths, instability has limited their applications in devices. In this paper, we describe spray-synthesized CsPbI3 PQD quantum emitters displaying strong photon antibunching and high brightness at room temperature and stable performance under continuous excitation with a high-intensity laser for more than 24 h. Our PQDs provided high single-photon emission rates, exceeding 9 × 106 count/s, after excluding multiexciton emissions and strong photon antibunching, as confirmed by low values of the second-order correlation function g(2)(0) (reaching 0.021 and 0.061 for the best and average PQD performance, respectively). With such high brightness and stability, we applied our PQDs as quantum random number generators, which demonstrably passed all of the National Institute of Standards and Technology's randomness tests. Intriguingly, all of the PQDs exhibited self-healing behavior and restored their PL intensities to greater than half of their initial values after excitation at extremely high intensity. Half of the PQDs even recovered almost all of their initial PL intensity. The robust properties of these spray-synthesized PQDs resulted from high crystallinity and good ligand encapsulation. Our results suggest that spray-synthesized PQDs have great potential for use in future quantum technologies (e.g., quantum communication, quantum cryptography, and quantum computing).

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of the present study was to investigate whether systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and neutrophil-to-platelet ratio (NLR) were associated with bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women. METHODS In this cross-sectional study, we enrolled 413 postmenopausal women who never received menopause hormone therapy. The relationship between SII, NLR, and BMD was investigated by linear regression analysis. RESULTS Significant inverse association was observed between SII and BMD in postmenopausal women. The mean BMD in each quartile of SII level were 0.923, 0.914, 0.900, and 0.876 g/cm2, respectively (p = .011). After adjusting for covariates, SII levels remained significantly associated with BMD (regression coefficients for quartiles 1-3 vs. quartile 4 were 0.035, 0.029, and 0.023, respectively; p for trend <.05). An inverse association was also found between NLR and BMD in postmenopausal women. However, there was no significant association between NLR and BMD after adjusting for covariates. CONCLUSION The quartile of SII was negatively associated with the mean BMD in postmenopausal women, independent of age, body mass index, sex hormone levels, and other factors. Therefore, SII can be used as a new predictor of bone loss in postmenopausal women.

Abstract
Indomethacin has been widely used in preterm infants with hemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Gastrointestinal complications of indomethacin have been reported in 5% of treated neonates. However, massive gastric mucosa hemorrhage is a rarely reported complication. To the best of our knowledge, the infant in this report is the smallest reported in the literature to have undergone successful surgery for such a complication. A male preterm infant weighing 566 g was born at 252/7 weeks of gestational age without a complicated maternal history. Soon after birth, he received nasal noninvasive respiratory support and minimal feeding. PDA was observed since the first day of life (DOL), treatments were initiated on the second DOL for the hemodynamical significance, and PDA was closed after two courses of indomethacin therapy (0.2 mg/kg). At midnight on the seventh DOL, generalized pallor, bloody gastric drainage, and a distended stomach were observed. Massive gastric bleeding was suspected. He suffered from intermittent hypotension, which was corrected with blood products and fluid resuscitation under monitoring with a radial arterial line. Gastric lavage with cooling saline was performed twice but in vain. Prior to surgical consultation, intravascular volume transfusion was given twice. An exploratory laparotomy was arranged after obtaining the parents' consent. Blood oozing from the gastric mucosa was observed through gastrostomy and was successfully stopped via epinephrine-soaked gauze compression. After the operation, his clinical course remained uneventful, and he was discharged without neurological anomaly at two-year follow-up. Physicians need to be cautious of indomethacin's effect on platelet dysfunction in preterm infants with multiple predisposing factors. The tendency for mucosal bleeding should be continuously monitored after indomethacin therapy.

Abstract
Multipartite entanglement is indispensable in the implementation of quantum technologies and the fundamental test of quantum mechanics. Here we study how the W state and W-like state may be generated in a quantum-dot array by controlling the coupling between an incident photon and the quantum dots on a waveguide. We also discuss how the coupling may be controlled to observe the sudden death of entanglement. Our work can find potential applications in quantum information processing.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To determine the bidirectional relationship between macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). METHODS Using the 1997-2013 Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database, we identified patients with newly diagnosed SLE from 2001 to 2013 from the whole beneficiaries and selected individuals without SLE from a one-million representative population. Propensity score (PS) matching was performed to balance incident SLE patients and individuals without SLE according to age, sex, comorbidities and medical utilization. The association between a history of MAS and SLE was studied using conditional logistic regression analysis shown as adjusted odds ratio (aOR). The risk of MAS associated with SLE was analyzed using Cox proportional regression analysis shown as hazard ratio (aHR), and we conducted a sensitivity analysis using various definitions of MAS. RESULTS We finally included 10,481 SLE patients and 20,962 PS-matched (1:2) non-SLE individuals. The correlation between a history of MAS and SLE did not reach statistical significance after adjustment for potential confounders (aOR, 1.18; 95% confidence interval, 0.80-1.75) in the age/sex-matched populations. In the 1:2 PS-matched populations, the risk of MAS markedly increased in patients with SLE (aHR, 7.18; 95% confidence interval, 4.97-10.36). Other risk factors for MAS included female, age ≥ 65 years, low income, a history of inflammatory bowel disease, and MAS history. CONCLUSION This nationwide, population-based study revealed that a history of MAS was not significantly associated with SLE risk. However, the risk of MAS was markedly associated with SLE and history of MAS.
