Abstract
Boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) were purified without the use of a dispersant by controlling the surface tension and steric repulsion of solvent molecules. This method effectively enhanced the difference in solubilities of impurities and BNNTs. The purification process involved optimizing the alkyl-chains of alcohol solvents and adjusting the concentration of alcohol solvent in water to regulate surface tension and steric repulsion. Among the solvents tested, a 70 wt% t-butylalcohol in water mixture exhibited the highest selective isolation of BNNTs from impurities based on differences in solubilities. This favorable outcome was attributed to the surface tension matching with BNNTs, steric repulsion from bulky alkyl chain structures, and differences in interfacial energy between BNNT-liquid and impurity-liquid interfaces. Through this optimized purification process, impurities were removed to an extent of up to 93.3%. Additionally, the purified BNNTs exhibited a distinct liquid crystal phase, which was not observed in the unpurified BNNTs.

Abstract
Two dogs presented with bilateral pattern-forming corneal opacity. Treatment with topical immunosuppressants was initiated after a complete ophthalmic examination. The response to treatment was assessed by analyzing serial images using slit-lamp biomicroscopy and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). Both dogs responded to topical immunosuppressants; however, the lesions recurred once the treatment was abated or withdrawn. The most effective immunosuppressant in both dogs was 0.03% tacrolimus ointment. Early and continuous treatment with topical immunosuppressants may be necessary to improve corneal clarity and prevent scarring. SD-OCT could provide useful structural information regarding presumed immune-mediated keratitis and aid in monitoring treatment response.

Abstract
High-performance chiroptical synaptic phototransistors are successfully demonstrated using heterojunctions composed of a self-assembled nanohelix of a π-conjugated molecule and a metal oxide semiconductor. To impart strong chiroptical activity to the device, a diketopyrrolopyrrole-based π-conjugated molecule decorated with chiral glutamic acid is newly synthesized; this molecule is capable of supramolecular self-assembly through noncovalent intermolecular interactions. In particular, nanohelix formed by intertwinded fibers with strong and stable chiroptical activity in a solid-film state are obtained through hydrogen-bonding-driven, gelation-assisted self-assembly. Phototransistors based on interfacial charge transfer at the heterojunction from the chiroptical nanohelix to the metal oxide semiconductor show excellent chiroptical detection with a high photocurrent dissymmetry factor of 1.97 and a high photoresponsivity of 218 A W-1 . The chiroptical phototransistor demonstrates photonic synapse-like, time-dependent photocurrent generation, along with persistent photoconductivity, which is attributed to the interfacial charge trapping. Through the advantage of synaptic functionality, a trained convolutional neural network successfully recognizes noise-reduced circularly polarized images of handwritten alphabetic characters with better than 89.7% accuracy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Hydnocarpus anthelmintica (HA) has been traditionally used for treating leprosy and is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. The aim of this study was to investigate the active compounds and targets of HA extracts, involved in oxidative stress and skin aging. The active compounds and targets of HA extracts were identified using network pharmacology. METHOD The pathway study was conducted using the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) database. HA semen was measured for its in-vitro antioxidant activity using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay and anti-aging activities using collagenase, elastase, and tyrosinase assays. A total of 21 intersecting core targets were identified from 8 compounds, 51 action targets, and 1810 skin aging and oxidative stress-associated target genes. RESULT A compound-target network was constructed, and 3 compounds (luteolin, beta-carotene and genkwanin), and 4 hub genes (TP53, HSP90AA1, JUN, and MAPK1) were identified. The KEGG pathway study revealed that the compounds were correlated with PI3K-Akt, p53, HIF-1, and MAPK signaling. CONCLUSION The results of in-vitro experiments showed the effect of HA extract on oxidative stress reduction and collagenase inhibition. We discovered two main active compounds, luteolin and β-carotene, that may be involved in p53 and MAPK signaling, and showed HA extract activity against oxidative stress and collagenase.

Abstract
PURPOSE Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a rare disease which has a high incidence of onset in adolescence. Disease self-management skills are imperative for adolescents with MMD. This study aimed to describe the systematic development, content, and usability of the Moyamoya Healthy Youth application (app), which was developed to enhance self-management skills for adolescents with MMD. DESIGN AND METHODS The theoretical grounding for the app was salutogenic model and the development process of the app was guided by the intervention mapping (IM) protocol. Results of each IM step were applied to the next step leading to the design of the app. Additionally, a pilot test was conducted to determine the usability of the app. RESULTS Following the salutogenic model, we identified the stressors, behaviors, and resources regarding managing symptoms of MMD by interviewing adolescents with MMD, their parents, and healthcare providers. Based on the findings of the interviews, we determined the program outcomes and performance objectives to improve the self-management of MMD in adolescents. The app was developed by translating the theoretical methods to achieve the performance objectives into practical strategies for delivering the program. A pilot test with eight participants showed satisfaction with the app in terms of its usefulness and ease of use. CONCLUSION We delineated the development process of the Moyamoya Healthy Youth. Additionally, we presented the positive outcomes regarding the usability of the app. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS The Moyamoya Healthy Youth app could benefit adolescents with MMD, by improving their self-management skills which are crucial for their health.

Abstract
Solid-state structural transformation is an interesting methodology used to prepare various metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) that are challenging to prepare in direct synthetic procedures. On the other hand, solid-state [2 + 2] photoreactions are distinctive methodologies used for light-driven solid-state transformations. Meanwhile, most of these photoreactions explored are quantitative in nature, in addition to them being stereo-selective and regio-specific in manner. In this work, we successfully synthesized two photoreactive novel binuclear Zn(II) MOFs, [Zn2(spy)2(tdc)2] (1) and [Zn2(spy)4(tdc)2] (2) (where spy = 4-styrylpyridine and tdc = 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylate) with different secondary building units. Both MOFs are interdigitated in nature and are 2D and 1D frameworks, respectively. Both the compounds showed 100% and 50% photoreaction upon UV irradiation, as estimated from the structural analysis for 1 and 2, respectively. This light-driven transformation resulted in the formation of 3D, [Zn2(rctt-ppcb)(tdc)2] (3), and 2D, [Zn2(spy)2(rctt-ppcb)(tdc)2] (4) (where rctt = regio, cis, trans, trans; ppcb = 1,3-bis(4'-pyridyl)-2,4-bis(phenyl)cyclobutane), respectively. These solid-state structural transformations were observed as an interesting post-synthetic modification. Overall, we successfully transformed novel lower-dimensional frameworks into higher-dimensional materials using a solid-state [2 + 2] photocycloaddition reaction.

Abstract
Objective The objective of this study was to compare quantitative electroencephalography (Q-EEG) characteristics of children with Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), taking into account the presence of a comorbidity for anxiety disorder. It also sought to investigate the impact of comorbid anxiety on the Q-EEG heterogeneity of children with ADHD. Method A total of 141 children with ADHD but without comorbid anxiety (ADHD-Only), 25 children with a comorbidity for anxiety disorder (ADHD-ANX) and 43 children in the control group were assessed. To compare Q-EEG characteristics between groups, we performed ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance) on relative power and theta/beta ratio (TBR) controlling for covariates such as age, sex, and FSIQ. Relative power values from 19 electrodes were averaged for three regions (frontal, central and posterior). Furthermore, cluster analysis (Ward's method) using the squared Euclidian distance was conducted on participants with ADHD to explore the impact of anxiety on the heterogeneity of Q-EEG characteristics in ADHD. Results There were no significant group differences in cognitive and behavioral measures. However, significant differences between groups were observed in the theta values in the central region, and the beta values in the frontal, central and posterior regions. In post hoc analyses, It was found that the ADHD-ANX group has significantly higher beta power values than the ADHD-Only group in all regions. For the theta/beta ratio, the ADHD-Only group had significantly higher values than the ADHD-ANX group in frontal, central and posterior regions. However, the control group did not show significant differences compared to both the ADHD-Only and ADHD-ANX group. Through clustering analysis, the participants in the ADHD-Only and ADHD-ANX groups were classified into four clusters. The ratios of children with comorbidities for anxiety disorder within each cluster were significantly different (χ2 = 10.018, p = 0.019). Conclusion Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder children with comorbid anxiety disorder showed lower theta power in the central region, higher beta power in all regions and lower TBR in all regions compared to those without comorbid anxiety disorder. The ratios of children with comorbidities for anxiety disorder within each cluster were significantly different.

Abstract
We evaluated re-induction incorporating carfilzomib-thalidomide-dexamethasone (KTd) and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) refractory, or demonstrating a suboptimal response, to non-IMID bortezomib-based induction. KTd salvage consisted of thalidomide 100 mg daily and dexamethasone 20 mg orally combined with carfilzomib 56 mg/m2 days 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16, of each 28-day cycle. Following four cycles, patients achieving a stringent complete response proceeded to ASCT whereas those who did not received a further two cycles then ASCT. Consolidation consisted of two cycles of KTd then Td to a total of 12 months post-ASCT therapy. Primary end-point was the overall response rate (ORR) with KTd prior to ASCT. Fifty patients were recruited. The ORR was 78% with EuroFlow MRD negativity of 34% in the intention-to-treat population and 65% in the evaluable population at 12 months post-ASCT. With follow-up >38 months median PFS and OS have not been reached with PFS and OS at 36 months of 64% and 80%, respectively. KTd was well tolerated with grade 3 and grade ≥4 adverse events rates of 32% and 10%, respectively. Response adaptive utilisation of KTd with ASCT is associated with both high-quality responses and durable disease control in functional high-risk NDMM.

Abstract
Evaluating tissue injury largely depends on serum biochemical analysis despite insufficient tissue specificity and low sensitivity. Therefore, attention has been paid to the potential of microRNAs (miRNAs) to overcome the limitations of the current diagnostic tools, as tissue-enriched miRNAs are detected in the blood upon tissue injury. First, using a cisplatin-injected rats, we screened a specific pattern of altered hepatic miRNAs and their target mRNAs. Subsequently, we identified novel liver-specific circulating miRNAs for drug-induced liver injury by comparing miRNA expression changes in organs and serum. RNA sequencing revealed that 32 hepatic miRNAs were differentially expressed (DE) in the cisplatin-treated group. Furthermore, among the 1217 targets predicted using miRDB on these DE-miRNAs, 153 hepatic genes involved in different liver function-related pathways and processes were found to be dysregulated by cisplatin. Next, comparative analyses of the liver, kidneys, and serum DE-miRNAs were conducted to select circulating miRNA biomarker candidates reflecting drug-induced liver injury. Finally, among the four liver-specific circulating miRNAs selected based on their expression patterns in tissue and serum, miR-532-3p was increased in the serum after cisplatin or acetaminophen administration. Our findings suggest that miR-532-3p is potential as a serum biomarker for identifying drug-induced liver injury, leading to the accurate diagnosis.

Abstract
Herein, we describe studies showing that Lewis acid co-catalysts can significantly broaden the scope of alkenes that can be incorporated into the photosensitized visible-light De Mayo reaction. Mechanistic studies suggest that the primary benefit of the Lewis acid is not on substrate sensitization but rather on bond-forming steps downstream of energy transfer, highlighting the diverse effects that Lewis acids can have on sensitized photoreactions.

Abstract
Rehabilitation using digital healthcare (DHC) has the potential to enhance the effectiveness of treatment for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and associated pain by improving patient outcomes, while being cost-effective, safe, and measurable. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of musculoskeletal rehabilitation using DHC. We searched PubMed, Ovid-Embase, Cochrane Library, and PEDro Physiotherapy Evidence Database from inception to October 28, 2022 for controlled clinical trials comparing DHC to conventional rehabilitation. We used a random-effects model for the meta-analysis, pooling the effects of DHC on pain and quality of life (QoL) by calculating standardized mean differences (SMDs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) between DHC rehabilitation and conventional rehabilitation (control). Fifty-four studies with 6240 participants met the inclusion criteria. The sample size ranged from 26 to 461, and the average age of the participants ranged from 21.9 to 71.8 years. The majority of the included studies focused on knee or hip joint MSD (n = 23), and the most frequently utilized DHC interventions were mobile applications (n = 26) and virtual or augmented reality (n = 16). Our meta-analysis of pain (n = 45) revealed that pain reduction was greater in DHC rehabilitation than in conventional rehabilitation (SMD: -0.55, 95% CI: -0.74, -0.36), indicating that rehabilitation using DHC has the potential to ameliorate MSD pain. Furthermore, DHC significantly improved health-related QoL and disease-specific QoL (SMD: 0.66, 95% CI: 0.29, 1.03; SMD: -0.44, 95% CI: -0.87, -0.01) compared to conventional rehabilitation. Our findings suggest that DHC offers a practical and flexible rehabilitation alternative for both patients with MSD and healthcare professionals. Nevertheless, further researches are needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms by which DHC affects patient-reported outcomes, which may vary depending on the type and design of the DHC intervention.

Abstract
Many digital health projects often stop in the pilot or test phase. Realisation of new digital health services is often challenging due to lack of guidelines for the step-by-step roll-out and implementation of the systems when changing work processes and procedures are needed. This study describes development of the Verified Innovation Process for Healthcare Solutions (VIPHS) - a stepwise model for digital health innovation and utilisation using service design principles. A multiple case study (two cases) involving participant observation, role play, and semi-structured interviews were conducted for the model development in prehospital settings. The model might be helpful to support realisation of innovative digital health projects in a holistic, disciplined, and strategic way.

Abstract
A 14-membered cyclic compound (3) containing amide, amino, and carbamate groups, which was serendipitously obtained in the oily residue after the separation of 4-benzyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyldododecane-2,6-dione (2a) and 4,16-dibenzyl-1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22-octaazacyclo-tetracosane-2,6,14,18-tetraone (2b), is reported. The structure of 3 is formally a CO2 insertion between positions 3 and 4 of the 12-membered ring in 2a. The CO2 insertion was confirmed in the synthesis of diethyl 2,2'-(benzylazanediyl)diacetate (1) by the reaction of benzylamine with ethyl bromoacetate using K2CO3 as the base. In addition, the selective synthesis of 3 and ethyl N-benzyl-N-((2-ethoxy-2-oxoethoxy)carbonyl)glycinate (5) and their kinetic behavior are reported. The reaction of 5 with triethylenetetramine afforded a 17-membered macrocycle (7), which was obtained in an 18% yield. Compounds 6 and 8 were prepared from 3 and 7 by introducing benzyl groups to improve their solubility in organic solvents. Titration experiments using 1H NMR showed that both 6 and 8 exhibit Li+ selectivity.

Abstract
Interlayer excitons (IXs) at the interface of heterostructures (HSs) with a staggered band alignment are fascinating quantum quasi-particles with light-emitting and long-lifetime characteristics. In this study, the energy band alignments (EBAs) of the HS of MAPbI3 perovskite thin sheets with CdSe-ZnS core-shell quantum dot (QD) layers are modulated by using different diameters of the QDs. Far-red IX emission is observed at 1.42 eV from the HS of MAPbI3 /CdSe-ZnS-QD (λem = 645 nm) with type-II EBA owing to charge transfer. The lifetime of the far-red IXs is estimated to be 5.68 µs, which is considerably longer than that (0.715 ns) of the intralayer excitons from CdSe-ZnS-QD. With increasing incident excitation power, the PL peak and its intensity of IXs are blue-shifted and linearly increased, respectively, indicating a strong dipole alignment of far-red IXs at the heterojunction. Back focal plane imaging suggests that the directions of dipole moments of the IXs are relatively out-of-plane compared to those of the intralayer excitons (MAPbI3 and CdSe-ZnS-QD). Notably, the abnormal behavior of the optical characteristics is observed near the phase transition temperature (90 K) of MAPbI3 . MAPbI3 /CdSe-ZnS-QD HS photodetectors show the increase in photocurrent and detectivity compared to MAPbI3 at IX excitation.

Abstract
Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) causes secondary damage in injured and adjacent regions due to temporal deprivation of oxygen and energy supply. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) is known to regulate cell survival mechanisms such as hypoxia, oxidative stress, inflammation and energy homeostasis in various tissues. Thus, PPARγ has the potential to show neuroprotective properties. However, the role of endogenous spinal PPARγ in SCI is not well established. In this study, under isoflurane inhalation, a 10-g rod was freely dropped onto the exposed spinal cord after T10 laminectomy using a New York University impactor in male Sprague-Dawley rats. Cellular localization of spinal PPARγ, locomotor function and mRNA levels of various genes including NFκB-targeted pro-inflammatory mediators after intrathecal administration of PPARγ antagonists, agonists or vehicles in SCI rats were then analysed. In both sham and SCI rats, spinal PPARγ was presented in neurons but not in microglia or astrocytes. Inhibition of PPARγ induced IκB activation and increased mRNA levels of pro-inflammatory mediators. It also suppressed recovery of locomotor function with myelin-related gene expression in SCI rats. However, a PPARγ agonist showed no beneficial effects on the locomotor performances of SCI rats, although it further increased the protein expression of PPARγ. In conclusion, endogenous PPARγ has a role in anti-inflammation after SCI. Inhibition of PPARγ might have a negative influence on motor function recovery through accelerated neuroinflammation. Nonetheless, exogenous PPARγ activation does not appear to effectively help with functional improvement after SCI.

Abstract
A 12-year-old castrated male Shih-Tzu dog was referred for uncontrolled glaucoma and uveitis with highly pigmented sclera, in both eyes (OU). On ophthalmic examination, the menace response, dazzle reflex and pupillary light reflex were negative OU. The intraocular pressure was 27 mmHg in the right eye (OD) and 70 mmHg in the left eye (OS) despite the administration of antiglaucoma eyedrops. Ultrasound biomicroscopy revealed a closed ciliary cleft OU. Ocular ultrasonography revealed hyperechoic materials in the vitreous OU and retinal detachment OS. When presented for recheck, an extensive malacic corneal ulcer was observed OS. To relieve pain in the blind eyes, enucleation OS and pharmacologic ciliary body ablation (CBA) OD were performed. Histologically, ocular melanosis, which is an inherited disease in the Cairn Terrier breed, was identified in the enucleated eye. The uvea was heavily pigmented. The iris and ciliary body were mildly distorted by a single population of large, round, nonneoplastic cells with pigmented cytoplasm. There was no evidence of an intraocular mass or metastasis before and after intravitreal CBA. This is the first report of bilateral ocular melanosis in a Shih-Tzu dog. Ocular melanosis is a possible differential diagnosis for globe presenting scleral pigmentation with glaucoma in even non-Cairn Terrier breeds and pharmacologic CBA could be considered as a treatment for ocular melanosis with end-stage glaucoma.

Abstract
In the supramolecule area, the fabrication of a new concept called polyrotaxanes or poly-pseudo-rotaxanes remains challenging. We herein report the formation of a poly-pseudo-rotaxane in which the same salt-type guest serves both linking and threading in the resulting structure. The combination of A1/A2-thiopyridyl pillar[5]arene (L) and silver(I) trifluoroacetate in CHCl3/CH3OH afforded a one-dimensional (1D) poly-pseudo-rotaxane. In this structure, to our surprise, the AgCF3CO2 guest not only links the di-armed L ligands via an infinite -L-Ag-L-Ag- arrangement but also threads into a pillar[5]arene cavity in a dimer form, (AgCF3CO2)2. In contrast, the same reaction in CH2Cl2/CH3OH yielded a simple 1D coordination polymer because an included CH2Cl2 molecule in the pillar[5]arene cavity prevents the threading of the silver(I) trifluoroacetate guest. Comparative 1H- and 19F-NMR studies support the solvent-dependent poly-pseudo-rotaxane formation at a lower concentration of L.

Abstract
Tetracycline (TC) antibiotics are widely used in animal husbandry and can cause environmental risk due to its high ecological toxicity and persistence. In this study, cobalt doped/ZnTiO3 (ZTO)/Ti3C2Tx MXene (ZCxTM, x indicates wt% of Co loading) was synthesized and explored to remove TC by adsorption and photocatalysis under visible light irradiation. The as-prepared ZC5TM was characterized using various analytical techniques, and key operating parameters such as solution pH, background ions, and temperature were systematically investigated. Interestingly, ZC5TM (14.9 mg/g) showed excellent adsorption capacity for TC, which was higher than activated carbon (7.7 mg/g), ZTO (4.9 mg/g), ZC3T (5.2 mg/g), ZC5T (5.3 mg/g), MXene (12.1 mg/g), ZTOM (12.5 mg/g), and ZC3TM (12.9 mg/g). The pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm models well explained the effect of contact time and initial concentrations on the adsorption of TC. The adsorption process was primarily through the electrostatic attraction, surface complexation, and hydrogen bonding. In addition, MXene and Co doped on ZTO served as co-catalyst and reduced recombination rate of photo-generated e--h+ pairs by the intimate interface of its heterojunction. Thus, ZC5TM was highly effective for the photocatalytic degradation of residual TC after adsorption by showing 18% TC degradation rate, compared to 8% and 9% degradation rate for ZTO and MXene, respectively. There results finally support the feasible use of ZC5TM as efficient adsorbent and photocatalyst in removal of TC in wastewater.

Abstract
Ordered assemblies of inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) have shown tremendous potential for wide applications due to their unique collective properties, which differ from those of individual NPs. Various assembly methods, such as external field-directed assembly, interfacial assembly, template assembly, biomolecular recognition-mediated assembly, confined assembly, and others, have been employed to generate ordered inorganic NP assemblies with hierarchical structures. Among them, the external field-directed assembly method is particularly fascinating, as it can remotely assemble NPs into well-ordered superstructures. Moreover, external fields (e.g., electric, magnetic, and shear fields) can introduce a local and/or global field intensity gradient, resulting in an additional force on NPs to drive their rotation and/or translation. Therefore, the external field-directed assembly of NPs becomes a robust method to fabricate well-defined functional materials with the desired optical, electronic, and magnetic properties, which have various applications in catalysis, sensing, disease diagnosis, energy conversion/storage, photonics, nano-floating-gate memory, and others. In this review, the effects of an electric field, magnetic field, and shear field on the organization of inorganic NPs are highlighted. The methods for controlling the well-ordered organization of inorganic NPs at different scales and their advantages are reviewed. Finally, future challenges and perspectives in this field are discussed.
