Acetaminophen degradation by hydroxyl and organic radicals in the peracetic acid-based advanced oxidation processes: Theoretical calculation and toxicity assessment. JOURNAL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS 2021; 416:126250. [PMID: 34492993 DOI: 10.1016/j.jhazmat.2021.126250] [Citation(s) in RCA: 1] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.3] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 02/25/2021] [Revised: 05/10/2021] [Accepted: 05/26/2021] [Indexed: 06/13/2023]
Abstract
The research on the mechanisms and kinetics of radical oxidation in peracetic acid-based advanced oxidation processes was relatively limited. In this work, HO• and organic radicals mediated reactions of acetaminophen (ACT) were investigated, and the reactivities of important organic radicals (CH3COO• and CH3COOO•) were calculated. The results showed that initiated reaction rate constants of ACT are in the order: CH3COO• (5.44 × 1010 M-1 s-1) > HO• (7.07 × 109 M-1 s-1) > CH3O• (1.57 × 107 M-1 s-1) > CH3COOO• (3.65 × 105 M-1 s-1) >> •CH3 (5.17 × 102 M-1 s-1) > CH3C•O (1.17 × 102 M-1 s-1) > CH3OO• (11.80 M-1 s-1). HO•, CH3COO• and CH3COOO• play important roles in ACT degradation. CH3COO• is another important radical in the hydroxylation of aromatic compounds in addition to HO•. Reaction rate constants of CH3COO• and aromatic compounds are 1.40 × 106 - 6.25 × 1010 M-1 s-1 with addition as the dominant pathway. CH3COOO• has high reactivity to phenolate and aniline only among the studied aromatic compounds, and it was more selective than CH3COO•. CH3COO•-mediated hydroxylation of aromatic compounds could produce their hydroxylated products with higher toxicity.

Abstract
Objective: Propose a new risk classification system for blunt thoracic aortic injury and explore its treatment strategies. Methods: After the retrospective analysis of clinical data from 68 patients with blunt thoracic aortic injury in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from November 2016 to October 2020, there were 56 males and 12 females, among these patients, the median age was 45(21-69). According to the degree of aortic injury and the combined injury, the patients were scored for aortic injury, and the risk of the patients were graded into following three types: low-risk group (score ≤ 2 points) 12 cases, intermediate-risk group (3 points ≤ score ≤ 5 points) 41 cases, high-risk group (score ≥ 6 points) 15 cases. Analyzing the effects of treatments received by patients in different grades on the prognosis. Patients were followed up through hospitalization or outpatient clinics at 1, 3, 6, 12 months after surgery and every year thereafter. Results: Of the 68 patients, 21 received non-surgical treatment and 47 received surgical repair, including 6 open surgery and 41 thoracic aortic endovascular repair. There were 16 cases of emergency operation and 31 cases of delayed operation. Twelve low-risk patients were treated with non-surgical treatment, and only 1 patient died of lung infection, with a mortality rate of 8.3% (1/12). There were 8 deaths in 41 moderate-risk patients, with a mortality rate of 19.5% (8/41), and the aortic-related mortality rate was 9.8% (4/41), and the operative mortality rate was 10.8% (4/37). The total mortality of 15 high-risk patients was 40% (6/15), and the aortic-related mortality rate was 30.0% (5/15), and the mortality rate of surgical patients was 10% (1/10). During the follow-up period of 5 to 52 months, no deaths occurred outside the hospital. According to the risk grading, there were significant differences in the aortic-related mortality of each grade (χ²=7.840, P=0.020). During the follow-up of 5-52 months, 1 case had type Ⅰ endoleak, 1 case of cerebral infarction, and 1 case of acute renal failure. Conclusion: According to the patient's degree of aortic injury and combined injury, the risk classification helps to choose the appropriate treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To translate and revise the Karitane Parenting Confidence Scale (KPCS),which can be used to evaluate the parenting confidence of 0-12 months infant caregivers in China, and evaluate the reliability and validity test of Chinese version of KPCS. Methods: Form a Chinese version of Karitane Parenting Confidence Scale through translation, back translation and expert review. Mothers of 3-month-old infants were recruited from two Maternal and Child Health Hospitals in Beijing and Ma'anshan in April 2019. A total of 165 mothers responded the survey invitations. They were surveyed with self-administered questionnaires, the Chinese version of KPCS, the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSOC) and Self-efficacy in Infant Care Scale (SICS). Item analysis was conducted to select items by using critical value and correlation coefficient. The construct validity was assessed by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis. The criterion validity was assessed by being compared with PSOC and SICS. The reliability analysis was assessed by Cronbach's α the split-half reliability coefficient and rest-retest reliability coefficient. Results: The scores of 15 items were all correlated with the total score of the Chinese version of KPCS with r ranging from -0.283 to 0.643 (P<0.001). The difference of critical values of all items of KPCS among the low and high score groups were statistically significant (P<0.001). Three factors labeled parenting, support, and sense of competence, were obtained by exploratory factor analysis which accounting for 49.52% of the total variance and the factor loading values of all items are more than 0.4. The confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the hypothesized three-factor structure. The total score of KPCS was significantly correlated with the total score of PSOC and SICS(r=0.381, 0.345, P<0.001). The Cronbach's α of the Chinese version of KPCS was 0.769, and each dimension of Cronbach's α were 0.332-0.800, the test-retest reliability coefficient was 0.817, and the split-half reliability coefficient was 0.789. Conclusion: The Chinese version of the Karitane parenting confidence scale has a good reliability and validity among the 0-12 month-old infants' mothers, which can be used to evaluate the parenting confidence of infant caregivers.

Abstract
We search for gravitational-wave signals produced by cosmic strings in the Advanced LIGO and Virgo full O3 dataset. Search results are presented for gravitational waves produced by cosmic string loop features such as cusps, kinks, and, for the first time, kink-kink collisions. A template-based search for short-duration transient signals does not yield a detection. We also use the stochastic gravitational-wave background energy density upper limits derived from the O3 data to constrain the cosmic string tension Gμ as a function of the number of kinks, or the number of cusps, for two cosmic string loop distribution models. Additionally, we develop and test a third model that interpolates between these two models. Our results improve upon the previous LIGO-Virgo constraints on Gμ by 1 to 2 orders of magnitude depending on the model that is tested. In particular, for the one-loop distribution model, we set the most competitive constraints to date: Gμ≲4×10^{-15}. In the case of cosmic strings formed at the end of inflation in the context of grand unified theories, these results challenge simple inflationary models.

The roles of HO •, ClO • and BrO • radicals in caffeine degradation: A theoretical study. THE SCIENCE OF THE TOTAL ENVIRONMENT 2021; 768:144733. Abstract
ClO• and BrO• are newly discovered reactive radicals that contribute to the degradation of micropollutants. However, the research on pollutant degradation by ClO• and BrO• is still lacking. Thus, the mechanism, kinetics, and toxicity of caffeine degradation by HO•, ClO•, and BrO• were computationally studied and compared. Results showed that radical adduct formation (RAF) reaction was dominant for HO•, ClO•, and BrO• initiated reactions of caffeine. The main reaction sites were C5 and C8 of caffeine for HO•, while only the RAF reaction on C8 was prominent for ClO• and BrO•. The initiated reaction rate constants of caffeine by HO•, ClO•, and BrO• were in the order of HO• (5.29 × 109 M-1 s-1) > ClO• (1.40 × 109 M-1 s-1) > BrO• (2.17 × 108 M-1 s-1). The kinetic simulation verified that ClO• played a crucial role in the degradation of caffeine by the UV/chlorine process. In addition to HO-adducts, the subsequent reaction mechanisms of ClO- and BrO-adducts have also been investigated. The formation mechanisms of several important products, namely dimethylparabanic acid (P2), di(N-hydroxymethyl) parabanic acid (P5), 1,3,7-trimethyluric acid (P6), and 8-oxocaffeine (P11), were elucidated. Remarkably, stable chlorinated and brominated intermediates or products were not generated in ClO•- and BrO•-mediated subsequent degradations of caffeine. The assessment of aquatic toxicity and health effects showed that caffeine could penetrate the blood-brain barrier (human), and caffeine and its degradation products were potentially harmful to the aquatic environment.

Catalytic mechanism and pathways of 1, 2-dichloropropane oxidation over LaMnO 3 perovskite: An experimental and DFT study. JOURNAL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS 2021; 402:123473. Abstract
The rational comprehension on the catalytic mechanism and pathways of chlorinated volatile organic compounds (CVOCs) oxidation is meaningful for the design of high performance catalytic materials. Herein, we attempted to elucidate the catalytic mechanism and pathways of 1, 2-dichloropropane (1, 2-DCP) oxidation over LaMnO3 perovskite from experimental and theoretical studies. Experimental results indicate that the initial dechlorination of 1, 2-DCP into allyl chloride (AC) can be readily achieved over LaMnO3, while the further decomposition of AC is more vulnerable to be affected by the reaction conditions and strongly dependent on the surface active oxygen species. Density functional theory (DFT) calculation reveals that the heterogeneous conversion of 1, 2-DCP initiates with the chemisorption on the Mn site, followed by the formation of AC via a synergistic mechanism. AC decomposition is considered as the rate-determining step under an inert condition, while the dechlorination of adsorbed 1, 2-DCP dominates the whole reaction under an oxygen atmosphere.

Abstract
Aromatic compounds (ACs) give a substantial contribution to the anthropogenic emissions of volatile organic compounds. Nitrate radicals (NO3) are significant oxidants in the lower troposphere during nighttime, with concentrations of (2-20) × 108 molecules cm-3. In this study, the tropospheric gas and liquid phase reactions of ACs with nitrate radical are investigated using theoretical computational methods, which can give a deep insight into the reaction mechanisms and kinetics. Results show that the reactivity of ACs with nitrate radicals decreases as the electron donating characteristics of the functional group on the ACs decrease, as ΔG≠ of the reaction with NO3 increasing from -1.17 to 17.84 kcal mol-1. The reaction of NO3 towards ACs in the aqueous phase is more preferable, with the atmospheric lifetime 0.07-1281 min. An assessment of the aquatic toxicity of ACs and their degradation products indicated that the risk of their degradation products remains and should be given more attention.

Abstract
Objective: Surgical site infection (SSI) is the most common infectious complication after emergency abdominal surgery (EAS). To a large extent, most SSI can be prevented, but there are few relevant studies in China. This study mainly investigated the current situation of SSI occurrence after EAS in China, and further explored risk factors for SSI occurrence. Methods: Multi-center cross-sectional study was conducted. Clinical data of patients undergoing EAS in 33 hospitals across China between May 1, 2019 and June 7, 2019 were prospectively collected, including perioperative data and microbial culture results from infected incisions. The primary outcome was the incidence of SSI after EAS, while the secondary outcomes were postoperative hospital stay, ICU occupancy rate, length of ICU stay, hospitalization cost, and mortality within postoperative 30 days. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used to analyze the risk factors of SSI after EAS. Results: A total of 660 EAS patients aged (47.9±18.3) years were enrolled in this study, including 56.5% of males (373/660). Forty-nine (7.4%) patients developed postoperative SSI. The main pathogen of SSI was Escherichia coli [culture positive rate was 32.7% (16/49)]. As compared to patients without SSI, those with SSI were more likely to be older (median 56 years vs. 46 years, U=19 973.5, P<0.001), male [71.4% (35/49) vs. 56.1% (343/611), χ(2)=4.334, P=0.037] and diabetes [14.3% (7/49) vs. 5.1% (31/611), χ(2)=5.498, P=0.015]; with-lower preoperative hemoglobin (median: 122.0 g/L vs. 143.5 g/L, U=11 471.5, P=0.006) and albumin (median: 35.5 g/L vs. 40.8 g/L, U=9452.0, P<0.001), with higher blood glucose (median: 6.9 mmol/L vs. 6.0 mmol/L, U=17 754.5, P<0.001); with intestinal obstruction [32.7% (16/49) vs. 9.2% (56/611), χ(2)=25.749, P<0.001], with ASA score 3-4 [42.9% (21/49) vs. 13.9% (85/611), χ(2)=25.563, P<0.001] and with high surgical risk [49.0% (24/49) vs. 7.0% (43/611), χ(2)=105.301, P<0.001]. The main operative procedure resulting in SSI was laparotomy [81.6%(40/49) vs. 35.7%(218/611), χ(2)=40.232, P<0.001]. Patients with SSI experienced significantly longer operation time (median: 150 minutes vs. 75 minutes, U=25 183.5, P<0.001). In terms of clinical outcome, higher ICU occupancy rate [51.0% (25/49) vs. 19.5% (119/611), χ(2)=26.461, P<0.001], more hospitalization costs (median: 44 000 yuan vs. 15 000 yuan, U=24 660.0, P<0.001), longer postoperative hospital stay (median: 10 days vs. 5 days, U=23 100.0, P<0.001) and longer ICU occupancy time (median: 0 days vs. 0 days, U=19 541.5, P<0.001) were found in the SSI group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the elderly (OR=3.253, 95% CI: 1.178-8.985, P=0.023), colorectal surgery (OR=9.156, 95% CI: 3.655-22.937, P<0.001) and longer operation time (OR=15.912, 95% CI:6.858-36.916, P<0.001) were independent risk factors of SSI, while the laparoscopic surgery (OR=0.288, 95% CI: 0.119-0.694, P=0.006) was an independent protective factor for SSI. Conclusions: For patients undergoing EAS, attention should be paid to middle-aged and elderly patients and those of colorectal surgery. Laparoscopic surgery should be adopted when feasible and the operation time should be minimized, so as to reduce the incidence of SSI and to reduce the burden on patients and medical institutions.

Abstract
Indirect oxidation induced by reactive free radicals, such as hydroxyl radical (HO), sulfate radical (SO4-) and carbonate radical (CO3-), plays an important or even crucial role in the degradation of micropollutants. Thus, the coadjutant degradation of phenacetin (PNT) by HO, SO4- and CO3-, as well as the synergistic effect of O2 on HO and HO2 were studied through mechanism, kinetics and toxicity evaluation. The results showed that the degradation of PNT was mainly caused by radical adduct formation (RAF) reaction (69% for Г, the same as below) and H atom transfer (HAT) reaction (31%) of HO. For the two inorganic anionic radicals, SO4- initiated PNT degradation by sequential radical addition-elimination (SRAE; 55%), HAT (28%) and single electron transfer (SET; 17%) reactions, while only by HAT reaction for CO3-. The total initial reaction rate constants of PNT by three radicals were in the order: SO4- > HO > CO3-. The kinetics of PNT degradation simulated by Kintecus program showed that UV/persulfate could degrade target compound more effectively than UV/H2O2 in ultrapure water. In the subsequent reaction of PNT with O2, HO and HO2, the formation of mono/di/tri-hydroxyl substitutions and unsaturated aldehydes/ketones/alcohols were confirmed. The results of toxicity assessment showed that the acute and chronic toxicity of most products to fish increased and to daphnia decreased, and acute toxicity to green algae decreased while chronic toxicity increased.

Abstract
Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common mesenchymal tumor in the gastrointestinal tract. The successful application of molecular targeted agents has promoted the clinical diagnosis and treatment of GIST into the era of precision medicine. There are some pitfalls in the diagnosis (including preoperative diagnosis and pathological diagnosis), surgical treatment (including surgical procedure, minimally invasive surgery, and surgery for recurrent/metastatic GIST) and drug treatment (including duration of adjuvant therapy for very high risk GIST and timing of intervention during preoperative treatment) of GIST. In addition to difficulties of doctors, these pitfalls can also lead to waste of medical resources, and even endanger the health and life of patients. Each doctor engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of GIST needs to fully understand the biological characteristics and disease development pattern of GIST, and accurately recognize every possible trap in the clinical management. This paper analyzes the pitfalls and misunderstandings in various aspects of GIST diagnosis and treatment in order to provide clues for promoting more reasonable clinical decision-making.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the efficacy between laparoscopy and open surgery for gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) larger than 2 cm. Methods: A multicenter retrospective cohort study was performed. Inclusion criteria: long diameter of primary gastric GIST > 2 cm; undergoing laparoscopy or open surgery; diagnosis confirmed by postoperative pathology without distant metastasis; without preoperative targeted therapy. Clinicopathological data of 857 gastric GIST patients, including 320 in PLA General Hospital, 284 in Shanghai Renji Hospital, 175 in Wuhan Union Hospital and 78 in Tianjin Cancer Hospital, from January 2010 to May 2017 were retrospectively collected. There were 418 males and 439 females, mainly aged between 50 and 70 years old. Among 857 patients, 413 were in the laparoscopy group and 444 in the open group. The nearest neighbor matching of propensity score matching method was conducted with 1:1 matching based on tumor location and size between laparoscopy and open group to obtain samples of covariate equilibrium, and the caliper value was 0.04. The t test, χ(2) test and Wilcoxon rank test were used to compare short-term efficacy, and the Kaplan-Meier curve and log rank test were applied to compare long-term outcomes between the two groups. Results: After propensity score matching, laparoscopy group and open group both enrolled 293 cases. The baseline data, including age, gender, tumor location, tumor long diameter, NIH classification, etc. were not significantly different between the two groups (all P>0.05). Compared with the open group, the laparoscopy group had less intraoperative blood loss [<100 ml: 2.9% (155/293) vs. 36.2% (106/293), Z=-12.857, P<0.001], shorter time to postoperative feeding [(4.0±0.2) days vs. (5.3±0.9) days, t=1.505, P=0.003] and to the removal of drainage tube [(4.8±1.0) days vs. (6.5±1.0) days, t=1.847, P=0.008], and shorter postoperative hospital stay [(8.6±0.3) days vs. (10.5±0.3) days, t=4.235, P<0.001]. Subgroups analysis according to anatomical location: (1) Gastric cardia and pylorus: there were no statistically significant differences in perioperative parameters between the two groups (all P>0.05). (2) Stomach base: feeding time after surgery [(4.0±0.2) days vs. (4.5±0.2) days, t=0.512, P=0.038], drainage tube removal time [(5.1±0.4) days vs. (6.4±0.6) days, t=0.517, P=0.044], postoperative hospital stay [(8.0±0.5) days vs. (11.1±0.9) days, t=0.500, P=0.002] were all significantly shorter in the laparoscopy group as compared to the open group, while the differences in other perioperative parameters were not statistically significant (all P>0.05). (3) Lesser curvature of the stomach: the laparoscopy group had less intraoperative blood loss [<100 ml ratio: 58.1% (43/74) vs. 33.7% (25/74), Z=7.632, P=0.034], shorter gastric tube removal time [(2.7±0.2) days vs. (3.2±0.3) days, t=0.503, P=0.007], earlier postoperative passage of gas [(2.8±0.1) days vs. (3.4±0.2) days, t=0.532, P=0.030], earlier postoperative feeding [(3.6±0.2) days vs. (4.3±0.2) days, t=0.508, P=0.020], shorter drainage tube removal time [(4.2±0.4) days vs. (5.7±0.5) days, t=0.508, P=0.020] and postoperative hospital stay [(8.3±0.6) days vs. (10.7±0.3) days, t=0.502, P=0.006] as compared to the open group. (4) Great curvature of the stomach: the laparoscopy group presented less intraoperative blood loss [<100 ml ratio: 52.7% (39/74) vs. 36.5% (27/74), Z=7.681, P=0.032], earlier gastric tube removal [(2.6±0.2) days vs. (3.6±0.2) days, t=0.501, P=0.001], earlier postoperative passage of gas [(2.7±0.2) days vs. (3.4±0.2) days, t=0.501, P=0.016], earlier postoperative feeding [(3.6±0.2) days vs. (4.7±0.2) days, t=0.500, P=0.001], shorter drainage tube removal time [(4.0±0.5) days to (5.9±0.4) days, t=0.508, P=0.002] and postoperative hospital stay [(7.5±0.3) days to (9.5±0.1) days, t=0.500, P=0.001] than the open group. Subgroup analysis according to tumor size: (1) Tumor long diameter 2.0-5.0 cm: the laparoscopy group had earlier passage of gas [(2.9±0.1) days vs. (3.5±0.1) days, t=0.500, P=0.001], earlier postoperative feeding [(4.5±0.1) days vs. (5.0±0.2) days, t=0.501, P=0.013], shorter drainage tube removal time [(4.8±0.3) days vs. (6.0±0.3) days, t=0.511, P=0.008] and postoperative hospital stay [(8.1±0.4) days to (10.1±0.3) days, t=0.513, P=0.001] than the open group. (2) Tumor long diameter 5.1-10.0 cm: in the laparoscopic group, postoperative feeding time [(4.0±0.2) days vs. (4.7±0.2) days, t=0.506, P=0.015], drainage tube removal time [(4.6±0.4) days vs. (6.4±0.5)) days, t=0.501, P=0.004], postoperative hospital stay [(8.2±0.3) days vs. (10.9±0.6) days, t=0.500, P=0.001] were all shorter than those in the open group. No intraoperative and postoperative complications were observed in each group. The 5-year recurrence-free survival rates of the laparoscopy group and the open group were 95.4% and 91.6%, respectively (P=0.734), and the 5-year overall survival rates were 93.8% and 90.8% (P=0.691), respectively, and the differences were not statistically significant. Conclusions: In experienced medical centers, laparoscopic surgery for gastric GIST larger than 2 cm is safe and feasible, and can achieve comparable efficacy with open surgery. For gastric GISTs which do not locate in the greater curvature and the anterior wall of the stomach, and whose long diameter is ≤5 cm, laparoscopic surgery does not increase the risk of recurrence and metastasis, and can accelerate postoperative recovery.

Abstract
Objective: Platelet-derived growth factor alpha (PDGFRA) mutations are respectively rare in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). Most GIST with PDGFRA exon 18 mutations including D842V mutation are highly resistant to imatinib. The treatment of GIST harboring PDGFRA primary drug-resistant mutation is a major challenge. This article aims to investigate clinicopathologic features of GIST with PDGFRA-D842V mutation and the efficacy of comprehensive treatment, providing a reference for clinical practice. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted to collect the clinicopathological and follow-up data of patients with GIST harboring PDGFRA mutation who were diagnosed and treated in the GIST Clinic of Renji Hospital from January 2005 to May 2020. According to the mutation site, the enrolled patients were divided into D842V mutation group and non-D842V mutation group. The differences of clinicopathologic characteristics between the two groups were compared. Furthermore, overall survival and prognostic factors were analyzed. Results: A total of 71 patients with PDGFRA-mutant GIST were included in this study, including 47 cases of D842V mutation (66.2%) and 24 cases of non-D842V mutation (33.8%). There were 28 male patients and 19 female patients in D842V mutation group, with a median age of 60 (36-82) years. There were 16 male patients and 8 female patients in non-D842V mutation group, with a median age of 62 (30-81) years. There were no significant differences in age, gender, primary location, surgical procedure, tumor size, mitotic count, expression of CD117 and DOG1, Ki-67 proliferation index and modified NIH grade between the two groups (all P>0.05). The positive rate of CD34 was 89.4% (42/47) and 62.5% (15/24) in the D842V mutation group and the non-D842V mutation group, respectively, with a statistically significant difference (χ(2)=5.644, P=0.018). Among all the cases, 66 cases underwent R0 resection without preoperative treatment; two cases underwent emergency operation with R1 resection because of tumor rupture; 2 cases were not operated after the pathological and mutation types were confirmed by biopsy (one case received avapritinib treatment and obtain partial remission). One case was diagnosed as wild-type GIST per needle biopsy in another institute, and underwent R0 resection after preoperative imatinib treatment for 6 months. After surgery, 5 high-risk GIST patients with D842V mutation and 5 high-risk GIST patients with non-D842V mutation were treated with imatinib for more than one year. The median follow-up time was 37 (1-153) months. As of the last follow-up among the patients who received R0 resection, 4 patients with D842V mutation had relapse, of whom 1 was in the period of imatinib administration, and the 3-year relapse-free survival rate was 94.2%; none of the patients with non-D842V mutation had relapse. There was no statistically significant difference in relapse-free surivval between two groups (P=0.233). Univariate analysis revealed that mitotic count (P=0.002), Ki-67 proliferation index (P<0.001) and modified NIH grade (P=0.025) were the factors associated with relapse-free survival of patients with D842V mutation after R0 resection (all P<0.05). However, the above factros were not testified as independant prognostic facors in multivariate Cox analysis (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Clinicopathologic features and the efficacy of radical resection in patients with PDGFRA-D842V mutation are similar to those in patients with non-D842V mutation.

Abstract
The gut microbiome functions like an endocrine organ, generating bioactive metabolites, enzymes or small molecules that can impact host physiology. Gut dysbacteriosis is associated with many intestinal diseases including (but not limited to) inflammatory bowel disease, primary sclerosing cholangitis-IBD, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation, osmotic diarrhoea and colorectal cancer. The potential pathogenic mechanism of gut dysbacteriosis associated with intestinal diseases includes the alteration of composition of gut microbiota as well as the gut microbiota-derived signalling molecules. The many correlations between the latter and the susceptibility for intestinal diseases has placed a spotlight on the gut microbiome as a potential novel target for therapeutics. Currently, faecal microbial transplantation, dietary interventions, use of probiotics, prebiotics and drugs are the major therapeutic tools utilized to impact dysbacteriosis and associated intestinal diseases. In this review, we systematically summarized the role of intestinal microbiome in the occurrence and development of intestinal diseases. The potential mechanism of the complex interplay between gut dysbacteriosis and intestinal diseases, and the treatment methods are also highlighted.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the association between maternal bisphenol A (BPA) exposure during pregnancy and neurobehavioral development in infant. Methods: Participants were from the Ma'anshan Birth Cohort, which was established from October 2008 to October 2010 based on four municipal medical and health institutions in Ma'anshan. High-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was applied for the determination of serum BPA concentration in 1 783 pregnant women sampled at their first filing, and during 2.97 to 28.1 months age of the infants. Neurobehavioral development were assessed by 0-6-year-old pediatric examination table of neuropsychological development. Generalized linear model was used to analyze the association between serum BPA levels during pregnancy and infants' neurobehavioral development. Results: A total of 931 mother-child pairs had complete data on serum BPA detection during pregnancy and assessment of infants' neurobehavioral development status. The age of pregnant women at their first filing was (26.67±3.45) years old, and the M (P25,P75) of serum BPA concentration (ng/ml) was 0.23 (0.11, 0.52), with a detection rate of 84.1% (783/931). The age of infants was (13.18±5.46) months, and 53.5% (498) were boys. The developmental quotient scores of large motor, fine motor, adaptive ability, language ability and social behaviors of infants were (97.88±16.32), (97.16±15.35), (99.64±15.47), (95.3±16.04) and (98.95±14.76) points, respectively. Generalized linear model showed that after adjusting for factors such as delivery mode, feeding mode, family per capita monthly income, preterm delivery, gender, maternal age, residence, pre-pregnancy body mass index and residence time, serum BPA level in pregnancy was negatively associated with infant's development of social behavior [β (95%CI):-2.42 (-4.71, -0.12)]. The post-stratification analysis by infant age revealed that the serum BPA level in pregnancy was only negatively associated with the development of language and social behavior developmental quotient scores in infants between the ages of 12 and 18 months, with β (95%CI) about -6.66 (-13.06, -0.25) and -7.401 (-12.97, -1.83), respectively. Conclusion: BPA exposure during pregnancy affects language and social behavior development in infants, and the detection window is between 12 and 18 months old of the infant.

Abstract
On May 21, 2019 at 03:02:29 UTC Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo observed a short duration gravitational-wave signal, GW190521, with a three-detector network signal-to-noise ratio of 14.7, and an estimated false-alarm rate of 1 in 4900 yr using a search sensitive to generic transients. If GW190521 is from a quasicircular binary inspiral, then the detected signal is consistent with the merger of two black holes with masses of 85_{-14}^{+21} M_{⊙} and 66_{-18}^{+17} M_{⊙} (90% credible intervals). We infer that the primary black hole mass lies within the gap produced by (pulsational) pair-instability supernova processes, with only a 0.32% probability of being below 65 M_{⊙}. We calculate the mass of the remnant to be 142_{-16}^{+28} M_{⊙}, which can be considered an intermediate mass black hole (IMBH). The luminosity distance of the source is 5.3_{-2.6}^{+2.4} Gpc, corresponding to a redshift of 0.82_{-0.34}^{+0.28}. The inferred rate of mergers similar to GW190521 is 0.13_{-0.11}^{+0.30} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1}.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can act as a platform for the heterogenization of molecular catalysts, providing improved stability, allowing easy catalyst recovery and a route toward structural elucidation of the active catalyst. We have developed a MOF, 1, possessing vacant N,N-chelating sites which are accessible via the porous channels that penetrate the structure. In the present work, cationic rhodium(I) norbornadiene (NBD) and bis(ethylene) (ETH) complexes paired with both noncoordinating and coordinating anions have been incorporated into the N,N-chelation sites of 1 via postsynthetic metalation and facile anion exchange. Exploiting the crystallinity of the host framework, the immobilized Rh(I) complexes were structurally characterized using X-ray crystallography. Ethylene hydrogenation catalysis by 1·[Rh(NBD)]X and 1·[Rh(ETH)2]X (X = Cl and BF4) was studied in the gas phase (2 bar, 46 °C) to reveal that 1·[Rh(ETH)2](BF4) was the most active catalyst (TOF = 64 h-1); the NBD materials and the chloride salt were notably less active. On the basis of these observations, the activity of the Rh(I) bis(ethylene) complexes, 1·[Rh(ETH)2]BF4 and 1·[Rh(ETH)2]Cl, in butene isomerization was also studied using gas-phase NMR spectroscopy. Under one bar of butene at 46 °C, 1·[Rh(ETH)2]BF4 rapidly catalyzes the conversion of 1-butene to 2-butene with a TOF averaging 2000 h-1 over five cycles. Notably, the chloride derivative, 1 [Rh(ETH)2]Cl displays negligible activity in comparison. XPS analysis of the postcatalysis sample, supported by DFT calculations, suggest that the catalytic activity is inhibited by the strong interactions between a Rh(III) allyl hydride intermediate and the chloride anion.

Abstract
In conventional quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnets with quantum spins, magnetic excitations are carried by either magnons or spinons in different energy regimes: they do not coexist independently, nor could they interact with each other. In this Letter, by combining inelastic neutron scattering, quantum Monte Carlo simulations, and random phase approximation calculations, we report the discovery and discuss the physics of the coexistence of magnons and spinons and their interactions in Botallackite-Cu_{2}(OH)_{3}Br. This is a unique quantum antiferromagnet consisting of alternating ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 chains with weak interchain couplings. Our study presents a new paradigm where one can study the interaction between two different types of magnetic quasiparticles: magnons and spinons.

BACKGROUND At present, the severity of patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been a focal point. METHODS To assess the factors associated with severity and prognosis of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, we retrospectively investigated the clinical, imaging and laboratory characteristics of confirmed 280 cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from 20 January to 20 February 2020. RESULTS The median age of patients in the mild group was 37.55 years, whilst that in the severe group was 63.04 years. The proportion of patients aged over 65 years in the severe group was significantly higher than that of the mild group (59.04% vs. 10.15%, P < 0.05). 85.54% of severe patients had diabetes or cardiovascular diseases, which was significantly higher than that of the mild group (51.81% vs. 7.11%, P = 0.025; 33.73% vs. 3.05%, P = 0.042). Patients in the mild group experienced earlier initiation of antiviral treatment (1.19 ± 0.45 vs. 2.65 ± 1.06 days in the severe group, P < 0.001). Our study showed that comorbidity, time from illness onset to antiviral treatment and age >=65 were three major risk factors for COVID-19 progression, whilst comorbidity and time from illness onset to antiviral treatment were two major risk factors for COVID-19 recovery. CONCLUSIONS The elderly and patients with underlying diseases are more likely to experience a severe progression of COVID-19. It is recommended that timely antiviral treatment should be initiated to slow the disease progression and improve the prognosis.

Abstract
Background:Articular involvement in acute gout attack is extremely common and mainly characterized by arthritis, which are usually transient, severe, reversible and well responsive to treatment. The involvement of tendons and entheses in lower extremity in monosodium urate-related disease through US (ultrasound) assessment have been described1,2. US findings in gout raising the hypothesis that entheseal involvement could be a missing target in the clinical evaluation of gout patients. Objectives:To evaluate by ultrasound (US) the frequency and characteristics of lower extremity entheseal involvement in acute gout attack patients. Methods:US assessment were performed by independent rheumatologist on 31 patients with acute gout attack. Presence of lower extremity entheseal involvement were evaluated by grey-scale (GS) and power Doppler (PD). US assessment contain quadriceps, patellar and Achilles tendons, and plantar fascia entheses according to the OMERACT definitions. Results:US revealed one or more abnormalities in at least one enthesis in 22 out of 31 gout patients (71.0%) and 47 out of 310 entheses (15.2%). Among the affected entheses, the patellar insertion of quadriceps tendon was most commonly involved (57.4%) during acute gout attack, followed by the calcaneal insertion of the Achilles tendon (17.0%) and distal insertion of the patellar tendon (14.9%). The proximal insertion of the patellar tendon and calcaneal insertion of the plantar fascia were involved in 8.5% and 2.1%, respectively. Bone erosions and osteophytes were found in affected entheses (10.6% and 25.5%, respectively). Conclusion:Our study identifies that lower extremity entheseal involvement is a missing target in the evaluation of patients with acute gout attack. US plays a key role in the assessment of both clinical and subclinical enthesitis in gout patients.References:[1]Pineda C, Amezcua-Guerra LM, Solano C, et al. Theoretical insight into the degradation of p-nitrophenol by OH radicals synergized with other active oxidants in aqueous solution. JOURNAL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS 2020; 389:121901. Abstract
The degradation of p-nitrophenol (p-NP) based on OH radicals (HO∙), HO2 radicals (HO2∙) and O2 in aqueous solution was investigated using theoretical computational methods. The complete degradation mechanisms of reaction between p-NP and HO∙ were explored by density functional theory (DFT) methods. The 4-nitrophenoxy radicals and 1,2-dihydroxy-4-nitrocylohexadienyl radicals are confirmed to be major intermediates of the HO∙-initiated reactions in aqueous phase, which consistent with experimental results. The chemical structures of some products (2,4-dihydroxycyclohexa-2,4-dien-1-one and 4-nitrocyclohexa-3,5-diene-1,2-dione) which were not identified in the experiment are determined. New favorable formation channels for some intermediates were found. The primary reactions initiated by HO∙ or HO2∙ with p-NP reveals that HO∙-initiated degradation is the dominant reaction. HO2∙ and O2 can enhance the degradation extent of p-NP in further reactions. Rate constants of the elementary reactions and overall rate constants were calculated. In addition, the HO∙-initiated primary reactions in a water box of 500 water molecules were studied using Monte Carlo simulation. All the OH-addition reactions are barrierless and highly feasible. The observed dynamic reaction process is similar to the DFT calculation prediction. Furthermore, the eco-toxicity evaluation shows that important products are harmless or harmful to aquatic organisms, and are much less toxic than p-NP.

Abstract
Objective: To study the prevalence of c-ros oncogene 1 fusion in lung adenocarcinoma and to evaluate its relationship with clinical characteristics. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation, anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and c-ros oncogene 1 (ROS1) fusion in 1 482 patients with adenocarcinoma from March 2014 to January 2017 in the first affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University. Furthermore, ROS1 fusion positive patients diagnosed between February 2017 and December 2017 were also included in ROS1 positive group. The data of age, sex, smoking history, TNM stage and chest computed tomography were collected by Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The clinical data were compared by the chi-squared test or Mann-Whitney test. Results: Of these 1 482 patients,54 cases were diagnosed with ROS1 rearrangement, including 19 males and 35 females, while 73 cases were diagnosed with ALK rearrangement, including 28 males and 45 females, and 679 cases diagnosed with EGFR mutation including 293 males and 386 females. And there were 676 patients without driven genes mutation. The mean age in ROS1 fusion group (54±12) was lower than EGFR mutation group (60±11, z=-3.982, P<0.001) and WT group (62±10, z=-4.944, P<0.001). Female proportion in ROS1 fusion group (64.8%, 35/54) was higher than WT group (28.4%, 192/676, χ(2)=30.94, P<0.001). Non-smoker percentages in ROS1 fusion group (72.2%, 39/54) was significantly higher than WT group (38.0%,257/676, χ(2)=24.27, P<0.001). ROS1 fusion group was similar to ALK fusion group in sex, age and smoking history, and there were no significant difference in TNM stage among these groups. On chest CT, adenocarcinomas with ROS1 fusion were found to be more peripheral in location (71.4%, 20/28) and solid in density (75%, 21/28), usually with lobulated margins (75.0%, 21/28) and spiculated in contour (57.1%,16/28). Conclusion: In our study lung adenocarcinoma with c-ROS oncogene 1 fusion was a rare subtype lung cancer and was usually detected in young, never smoking, and female patients.

Abstract
Subtype selectivity and functional bias are vital in current drug discovery for G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) as selective and biased ligands are expected to yield drug leads with optimal on-target benefits and minimal side-effects. However, structure-based design and medicinal chemistry exploration remain challenging in part because of highly conserved binding pockets within subfamilies. Herein, we present an affinity mass spectrometry approach for screening herbal extracts to identify active ligands of a GPCR, the 5-HT2C receptor. Using this method, we discovered a naturally occurring aporphine 1857 that displayed strong selectivity for activating 5-HT2C without activating the 5-HT2A or 5-HT2B receptors. Remarkably, this novel ligand exhibited exclusive bias toward G protein signaling for which key residues were identified, and it showed comparable in vivo efficacy for food intake suppression and weight loss as the antiobesity drug, lorcaserin. Our study establishes an efficient approach to discovering novel GPCR ligands by exploring the largely untapped chemical space of natural products.

Abstract
1. Fatty acid-binding proteins (FABP) are members of lipid-binding proteins, which participate in the metabolism and intracellular transportation of lipids. This study was designed to investigate the expression patterns, polymorphisms and associations with meat quality traits of the FABP1 gene in pigeons. 2. The temporal-spatial expression patterns showed FABP1 was widely expressed in all eleven tissues from 0-4 weeks of age, the expression level in the liver was the highest, followed by the small intestine and subcutaneous fat. 3. Five novel SNPs were found; all of them were synonymous and in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Association analysis revealed that for the SNP of G161C, the AB and BB genotypes had higher (P ≤ 0.01) inosinic acid concentrations in breast muscle than the AA genotype. The BB genotype showed the highest (P < 0.01) intramuscular fat among the three genotypes, and significantly greater FABP1 mRNA levels were observed in the breast muscle of the BB genotype than in the AA and AB genotypes (P < 0.01). In the SNP C1376T, the AB and BB genotypes showed higher (P < 0.01) intramuscular fat than the AA genotype, and the relative mRNA expression level of the BB (P < 0.01) and AB (P < 0.05) genotypes was higher than that of the AA genotype in breast muscle. Correlation analysis implied that the FABP1 mRNA expression level was closely related to the inosinic acid (P < 0.05) and intramuscular fat content (P < 0.01). Oil red O staining of frozen sections of breast muscle on d 28 for SNPs G161C and C1376T also indicated that the BB genotype had the highest intramuscular fat content in both SNPs. In addition, correlation analysis implied the FABP1 mRNA expression level was closely related to inosinic acid (P < 0.05) and intramuscular fat content (P < 0.01). 4. The results suggested that FABP1 could be a potential candidate gene in marker-assisted selection for breeding pigeons with high-quality meat.

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of myoepithelial carcinoma of the head and neck. Method:The clinical data of 59 patients with head and neck myoepithelial carcinoma admitted from January 2012 to October 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. The data was analyzed with SPSS 21.0 statistical software. Result:The follow-up period was 6 to 131 months. The mean follow-up time was 36 months. One patient(1.7%) was lost to follow-up, 17 patients(28.8%) had postoperative local recurrence, 8 patients(13.6%) had distant metastasis, and 5 patients(8.5%) had cervical lymph node metastasis; 14 patients(23.7%) died. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year cumulative survival rates were 92%, 73%, and 62%, respectively. Survival rate curves of different treatment methods were significantly different by Gehan method(P<0.05). Compared between the two groups, there was significant difference between surgery alone and surgery plus radiotherapy than radiotherapy alone and chemotherapy alone(P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the other two treatment methods. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that tumor location, clinical stage and survival status and local recurrence rate were significantly correlated(P<0.05), but gender, age and survival status and local recurrence rate were not significantly correlated(P>0.05). Conclusion:The incidence of myoepithelial carcinoma is low, and the clinical manifestations and imaging studies lack specificity. The tumor is prone to local recurrence, invasive, and has a high incidence of distant metastasis. It is a highly malignant tumor. Surgical treatment is preferred and the requirements for first surgery are high, and major salivary glands and advanced tumors(stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ) are risk factors for survival and local recurrence. Early diagnosis and early treatment can significantly improve the survival rate of patients, reduce the local recurrence rate of tumors, and improve the prognosis of patients.

Prospects for observing and localizing gravitational-wave transients with Advanced LIGO, Advanced Virgo and KAGRA. LIVING REVIEWS IN RELATIVITY 2020; 23:3. Abstract
We present our current best estimate of the plausible observing scenarios for the Advanced LIGO, Advanced Virgo and KAGRA gravitational-wave detectors over the next several years, with the intention of providing information to facilitate planning for multi-messenger astronomy with gravitational waves. We estimate the sensitivity of the network to transient gravitational-wave signals for the third (O3), fourth (O4) and fifth observing (O5) runs, including the planned upgrades of the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors. We study the capability of the network to determine the sky location of the source for gravitational-wave signals from the inspiral of binary systems of compact objects, that is binary neutron star, neutron star-black hole, and binary black hole systems. The ability to localize the sources is given as a sky-area probability, luminosity distance, and comoving volume. The median sky localization area (90% credible region) is expected to be a few hundreds of square degrees for all types of binary systems during O3 with the Advanced LIGO and Virgo (HLV) network. The median sky localization area will improve to a few tens of square degrees during O4 with the Advanced LIGO, Virgo, and KAGRA (HLVK) network. During O3, the median localization volume (90% credible region) is expected to be on the order of 10 5 , 10 6 , 10 7 Mpc 3 for binary neutron star, neutron star-black hole, and binary black hole systems, respectively. The localization volume in O4 is expected to be about a factor two smaller than in O3. We predict a detection count of 1 - 1 + 12 ( 10 - 10 + 52 ) for binary neutron star mergers, of 0 - 0 + 19 ( 1 - 1 + 91 ) for neutron star-black hole mergers, and 17 - 11 + 22 ( 79 - 44 + 89 ) for binary black hole mergers in a one-calendar-year observing run of the HLV network during O3 (HLVK network during O4). We evaluate sensitivity and localization expectations for unmodeled signal searches, including the search for intermediate mass black hole binary mergers.

Search for Subsolar Mass Ultracompact Binaries in Advanced LIGO's Second Observing Run. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2019; 123:161102. Abstract
We present a search for subsolar mass ultracompact objects in data obtained during Advanced LIGO's second observing run. In contrast to a previous search of Advanced LIGO data from the first observing run, this search includes the effects of component spin on the gravitational waveform. We identify no viable gravitational-wave candidates consistent with subsolar mass ultracompact binaries with at least one component between 0.2 M_{⊙}-1.0 M_{⊙}. We use the null result to constrain the binary merger rate of (0.2 M_{⊙}, 0.2 M_{⊙}) binaries to be less than 3.7×10^{5} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1} and the binary merger rate of (1.0 M_{⊙}, 1.0 M_{⊙}) binaries to be less than 5.2×10^{3} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1}. Subsolar mass ultracompact objects are not expected to form via known stellar evolution channels, though it has been suggested that primordial density fluctuations or particle dark matter with cooling mechanisms and/or nuclear interactions could form black holes with subsolar masses. Assuming a particular primordial black hole (PBH) formation model, we constrain a population of merging 0.2 M_{⊙} black holes to account for less than 16% of the dark matter density and a population of merging 1.0 M_{⊙} black holes to account for less than 2% of the dark matter density. We discuss how constraints on the merger rate and dark matter fraction may be extended to arbitrary black hole population models that predict subsolar mass binaries.

Abstract
Background This study evaluated the diagnostic performances of total and high-avidity (HA) anti-dsDNA enzyme immunoassays (EIA) in Chinese systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients. Methods A total of 410 serum samples from 217 SLE patients, 54 patients with other systemic autoimmune diseases, and 139 healthy subjects were tested on total and HA anti-dsDNA EIA, as well as three commercial in vitro diagnostic kits: BioPlex 2200 ANA Screen, Kallestad anti-dsDNA EIA, and Crithidia Lucilae IFA. The disease activities of SLE patients were assessed using the modified SLE Disease Activity Index. The diagnostic performances of each assay were analyzed using Analyse-it software. Results The diagnostic performances of the total and HA anti-dsDNA EIA kits were comparable to other commercially available in vitro diagnostic assays. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis demonstrated an area under the curve ranging from 0.85 to 0.89, with the total anti-dsDNA kit demonstrating the highest sensitivity and the HA kit showing higher specificity. An overall agreement of >90% was observed between the total and HA anti-dsDNA EIA kits and commercially available quantitative anti-dsDNA kits. The ratio of HA to total anti-dsDNA antibody was significantly higher among SLE patients with active disease status and/or kidney damage. All assays exhibited a significant correlation with disease activity and multiple clinical manifestations. Conclusions While the clinical performances of various anti-dsDNA assays showed adequate agreements, the BioPlex 2200 anti-dsDNA assay demonstrated the highest positive likelihood ratio and odds ratio. The HA anti-dsDNA EIA kit in association with the total anti-dsDNA kit provided superior performance in SLE diagnosis and monitoring disease activity.

Abstract
The great success of tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitor (TKI) in gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GIST) has promoted it to become a classic model of targeted cancer therapy in the era of precision medicine. Multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment and whole-process scientific management are the key to clinical diagnosis and treatment of GIST. There are many expert consensuses or guidelines on diagnosis and treatment of GIST in the world. The English version of expert consensuses on diagnosis and treatment of GIST has been issued by the East Asian countries represented by Japan, Korea and China, respectively, in combination with their own clinical practice. In 2016, the first edition of the Asian Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of GIST was formulated jointly by the above - mentioned countries. This paper aims to explore the similarities and differences between Chinese and Asian Consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of GIST, to improve the understanding of GIST, and to bridge the gap and explore clues for future cooperation among these countries. The overall framework of both consensuses includes the pathological diagnosis, surgery and drug treatment of GIST. The differences include the following three aspects: (1) The different focus of pathological diagnosis of GIST. The Chinese Consensus has highlighted the requirements for the management of pathological specimens of GIST and the pathological evaluation after targeted therapy. The Chinese Consensus has also tried to clarify the algorithm of diagnosis of wild-type GIST, while wild-type GIST is introduced in very few words in the Asian Consensus. (2) The difference of surgical treatment of GIST focuses on the field of minimally invasive techniques, especially the application of endoscopy in the treatment of GIST. The Asian Consensus is cautious about laparoscopic surgery and has no comments on endoscopic resection at all. At present, the Chinese Consensus does not recommend routine endoscopic treatment in GIST, but the indications have been expanded to a certain extent, reflecting the clinical needs and development trends of endoscopic therapy in China. (3) The recommendation degree of medication for GIST varies. The difference includes the indication of adjuvant therapy, the recommendation after failure of first-line treatment, and discontinuation of TKIs preoperatively, and duration of postoperative adjuvant therapy. The difference between the Chinese Consensus and the Asian Consensus reflects the gap in the practice and clinical research of GIST between China and other Asian countries (e.g. Japan and Korea). Cooperation is the main theme in the field of medical science in the 21st century. China, Japan and South Korea are all located in East Asia and have certain shared features in terms of genetic and biological background, living habits and social environment, medical system and scientific research mode. It is a good entry point to carry out international cooperation research in the field of GIST. In view of some pending problems in the diagnosis and treatment of GIST, the cooperative research between China, Japan and Korea may focus on the following aspects: (1) The value of surgery in the treatment of advanced GIST. (2) The detection of imatinib blood concentration in East Asian population and optimized rational use of targeted drugs in the oriental population. (3) Chinese researchers should optimize the strategy of endoscopic treatment of GIST, design rigorous domestic multi-center clinical trials, and provide convincing data, so as to obtain international recognition. (4) Other related studies may include the diagnosis and treatment of wild-type GIST, the value of Ki-67 in the pathological evaluation of GIST, laparoscopic surgery for gastric GIST, and the optimal duration of imatinib adjuvant therapy. Researchers in China should attach importance to the value of clinical trials, especially cooperative clinical research. Starting with improving data quality, we should welcome cooperation with an open and confident attitude and strive to promote the clinical practice and research of GIST to a new height.

[Application of imatinib plasma concentration monitoring in the whole process management of gastrointestinal stromal tumor patients]. ZHONGHUA WEI CHANG WAI KE ZA ZHI = CHINESE JOURNAL OF GASTROINTESTINAL SURGERY 2019; 22:841-847. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the significance of monitoring imatinib mesylate (IM) plasma concentrations in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST). Methods: A retrospective descriptive study was carried out. Inclusion criteria: (1) patients with GIST confirmed by postoperative pathology or puncture pathology receiving maintenance therapy of IM; (2) administration of same dose of IM for at least 4 weeks (achieving steady - state plasma concentration). Patients who had severe organ dysfunction, received IM generics, or received IM simultaneously with other drugs significantly affecting IM pharmacokinetic were excluded. A total of 185 patients at the GIST Clinic of Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine from August 2018 to May 2019 were enrolled, including 114 males (61.6%) and 71 females (38.4%) with a median age of 60 years old (range, 30-89 years), and 63 advanced cases. Patients receiving preoperative or postoperative adjuvant therapy were given IM 400 mg QD; patients with KIT exon 9 mutation or with disease progression during IM 400 mg QD treatment were given IM 600 mg QD. If the patient had adverse reactions such as myelosuppression during the medication, IM would be reduced or given BID per day. The peripheral venous blood was collected (22 to 24 hours after the last dose for patients who took IM QD and 2 hours before the first dose per day for those who took IM BID). IM plasma concentration was measured through high performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). Correlation analysis between IM plasma concentration results and clinical data was performed using linear regression analysis. Results: A total of 241 stable blood samples of IM plasma concentration from 185 patients were finally collected. The IM plasma concentrations were significantly different between the doses of 300 mg/d and 400 mg/d [(942.4±433.5) μg/L vs. (1340.0±500.1) μg/L, t=6.317, P<0.001], and between 400 mg/d and 600 mg/d [(1340.0±500.1) μg/L vs. (2188.0±875.5) μg/L, t=3.557, P=0.004]. Among the blood samples of 57 patients receiving IM 300 mg/d, the IM plasma concentration of the advanced patients was significantly lower than that of the non-advanced patients [(795.6±225.8) μg/L vs. (992.2±484.4) μg/L, t=2.088, P=0.042]. Among the 137 blood samples of patients receiving IM 400 mg/d, the IM plasma concentration was higher in patients aged >60 years than those aged ≤60 years [(1461.0±595.3) μg/L vs. (1240.0±380.9) μg/L, t=2.528, P=0.013] and the IM plasma concentration of cases with diarrhea was significantly lower than that of those without diarrhea [(745.8±249.6) μg/L vs. (1382.0±486.9) μg/L, t=6.794, P<0.001]. Gender, primary location, surgical procedure, mutated gene, mutation type, or time of administration was associated with IM plasma concentration no matter in patients taking IM doses of 400 mg/d or 300 mg/d (all P>0.05). Regression analysis showed that body mass (P=0.004 and P=0.019), body mass index (P=0.016 and P=0.042), and body surface area (P=0.007 and P=0.028) were all negatively correlated with IM plasma concentrations in patients taking IM doses of 300 mg/d and 400 mg/d. Within the 137 patients who received a fixed oral dose of 400 mg/d IM, 17 patients received oral 200 mg BID, whose IM plasma drug concentration was not significantly different compared with that of 120 patients who received 400 mg IM QD [(1488.0±408.3) μg/L vs. (1319.0±509.7) μg/L, t=1.307, P=0.193]. Conclusions: Monitoring IM plasma concentration is significant throughout the whole process of management of GIST patients receiving IM treatment. In particular, regular monitoring IM plasma concentration and developing appropriate treatment strategies can bring better therapeutic benefits for patients with low doses, diarrhea, advanced condition and older age.

Abstract
Objective:The aim of this study is to explore the relative expression level of LINC00152 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC) and its clinical significance. Method:The relative expression levels of LINC00152 in LSCC cell lines and 36 paired LSCC specimens were measured by qRT-PCR method. And the correlations between the expression level of LINC00152 and the clinical features derived from LSCC patients were analyzed and compared through the independent sample t-test. Result:The relative expression level of LINC00152 was over-expressed in LSCC cell lines and cancerous tissues than that in paired adjacent normal tissues, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.006). Even the associations between LINC00152 expression level and clinicopathological features(P=0.044 for clinical stage, P=0.032 for pathological differentiation degree) were significantly. Conclusion:LINC00152 is highly expressed in LSCC and it may become a new tumor marker for the diagnosis and prognosis of LSCC.

Abstract
The recent discovery by Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo of a gravitational wave signal from a binary neutron star inspiral has enabled tests of general relativity (GR) with this new type of source. This source, for the first time, permits tests of strong-field dynamics of compact binaries in the presence of matter. In this Letter, we place constraints on the dipole radiation and possible deviations from GR in the post-Newtonian coefficients that govern the inspiral regime. Bounds on modified dispersion of gravitational waves are obtained; in combination with information from the observed electromagnetic counterpart we can also constrain effects due to large extra dimensions. Finally, the polarization content of the gravitational wave signal is studied. The results of all tests performed here show good agreement with GR.
