Abstract
Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of lenalidomide combined with bortezomib and dexamethasone (RVD) in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM). Methods: A total of 100 consecutive NDMM patients treated with RVD from August 2016 to September 2020 at Peking University People's Hospital were retrospectively analyzed, including response, drug toxicity, follow-up and survival, and subgroup analysis. Results: The median follow-up time was 19.5 (2.0-57.0) months. For patients undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) after RVD regimen, the objective response rate (ORR)/complete response+stringent complete response (CR+sCR)/≥very good partial response (VGPR) rates were 100%, 73.3% (33/45), 95.6% (43/45) respectively. For 54 patients not receiving transplantation, the ORR/CR+sCR/≥VGPR rates were 79.6% (43/54), 18.5% (10/54), 51.9% (28/54) respectively. As to the survival analysis, 2-year progression free survival (PFS) rates were 84.5% and 70.9% in transplant and non-transplant patients respectively (P=0.102). Two-year overall survival (OS) rates were 100% and 80.8% in transplant and non-transplant patients respectively (P=0.003). The common hematologic adverse events (AEs) were thrombocytopenia (33%) and neutropenia (25%). Abnormal liver function (43%) and peripheral neuropathy (24%) were recognized more as non-hematologic AEs. Conclusion: RVD as front-line regimen has high efficient response rate and acceptable safety in Chinese NDMM patients.

Abstract
The chiral magnetic effect (CME) refers to charge separation along a strong magnetic field due to imbalanced chirality of quarks in local parity and charge-parity violating domains in quantum chromodynamics. The experimental measurement of the charge separation is made difficult by the presence of a major background from elliptic azimuthal anisotropy. This background and the CME signal have different sensitivities to the spectator and participant planes, and could thus be determined by measurements with respect to these planes. We report such measurements in Au+Au collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 200 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider. It is found that the charge separation, with the flow background removed, is consistent with zero in peripheral (large impact parameter) collisions. Some indication of finite CME signals is seen in midcentral (intermediate impact parameter) collisions. Significant residual background effects may, however, still be present.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features, surgical methods and prognosis of primary appendiceal neoplasms. Methods: A descriptive case series study was performed. Clinical data of patients diagnosed with primary appendiceal neoplasms in Peking University First Hospital from 2006 to 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients who underwent surgery and were confirmed as appendiceal neoplasms by postoperative pathology were included. Cases of cecal tumor invading the appendix and other organ tumors implanting in the appendix and cases of recurrent appendix tumors were excluded Pathological classification was based on the 4th edition of the WHO classification of digestive tract tumors (2010 edition), and the efficacy of operation methods of low grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (LAMN) were analyzed. Results: A total of 115 patients were enrolled, including 52 males and 63 females with a median age of 59 (51, 71) years. Clinical symptoms usually manifested as dormant pain in the right lower quadrant, migrating right lower abdominal pain, fever and bloating. Twenty-four cases were accidentally discovered during surgery, and 21 cases were found by physical examination. The preoperative diagnosis rate of CT and ultrasound was 40.2% (43/107) and 25.5% (24/94) respectively. The postoperative pathological types contained 83 cases of LAMN, 12 cases of mucinous adenocarcinoma, 9 cases of appendiceal neuroendocrine neoplasms (aNEN), 2 cases of mucinous adenocarcinoma with signet ring cells, 3 cases of serrated adenoma, 2 cases of goblet cell carcinoid, 2 cases of lymphoma, 1 case of leiomyoma and 1 case of schwannomas. All the patients underwent surgical resection, including 41 cases of appendectomy, 21 cases of partial cecectomy, 48 cases of right hemicolectomy, and 5 cases of combined organ resection due to appendiceal tumor infiltration or dissemination. Eighteen cases were diagnosed with pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) during operation. A total of 98 patients were enrolled for follow-up. The median follow-up time was 58 (5-172) months. The 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) rate was 84.5% and 5-year overall survival (OS) was 88.2%. Multivariate analysis revealed that high-grade malignancy tumors (HR=25.881, 95% CI: 2.827-236.935, P=0.004) and PMP formation (HR=42.166, 95% CI: 3.470-512.439,P=0.003) were independent risk factors for prognosis. Patients undergoing right hemicolectomy presented longer operation time, more blood loss and higher morbidity of complication as compared to those undergoing appendectomy and partial cecectomy (all P<0.05), while no significant differences in 5-year DFS (P=0.627) and 5-year OS (P=0.718) were found. Conclusions: Primary appendiceal neoplasms usually have no typical features, accompanied with low preoperative diagnosis rate. The common pathological types are LAMN, mucinous adenocarcinoma and aNEN. Appendectomy or partial cecectomy for LAMN may achieve satisfactory prognosis. High-grade malignancy tumors and PMP formation are independent risk factors for prognosis.

Abstract
According to first-principle lattice QCD calculations, the transition from quark-gluon plasma to hadronic matter is a smooth crossover in the region μ_{B}≤T_{c}. In this range the ratio, C_{6}/C_{2}, of net-baryon distributions are predicted to be negative. In this Letter, we report the first measurement of the midrapidity net-proton C_{6}/C_{2} from 27, 54.4, and 200 GeV Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The dependence on collision centrality and kinematic acceptance in (p_{T}, y) are analyzed. While for 27 and 54.4 GeV collisions the C_{6}/C_{2} values are close to zero within uncertainties, it is observed that for 200 GeV collisions, the C_{6}/C_{2} ratio becomes progressively negative from peripheral to central collisions. Transport model calculations without critical dynamics predict mostly positive values except for the most central collisions within uncertainties. These observations seem to favor a smooth crossover in the high-energy nuclear collisions at top RHIC energy.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the correlation between UGT1A1 polymorphisms and the irinotecan plus S-1 regimen-induced toxicities in Chinese advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) patients. Methods: A total of 46 recurrent or metastatic ESCC patients selected from ESWN 01 trial were randomly assigned to irinotecan plus S-1 group [intravenous infusion of irinotecan (160 mg/m(2)) on day 1 and oral S-1 (80-120 mg) on days 1-10, repeated every 14 days]. Peripheral venous blood at baseline was collected and genomic DNA was extracted. The genetic polymorphisms of UGT1A1*6 and UGT1A1*28 were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification. Irinotecan plus S-1 regimen-induced toxicities of patients with different UGT1A1 polymorphisms were observed. The correlation between UGT1A1 polymorphisms and the adverse effects was analyzed. Results: Among the 46 patients, the numbers of UGT1A1*6 wild type genotype (GG), mutant heterozygote (GA) and mutant homozygote (AA) were 30, 15 and 1, while those with UGT1A1*28 wild type genotype (TA6/6), mutant heterozygote (TA6/7) and mutant homozygote (TA7/7) were 36, 8 and 2, respectively. Only one patient with UGT1A1*6 AA genotype occurred grade 3 diarrhea, while one of the 2 patients with UGT1A1*28 TA7/7 genotype occurred grade 4 diarrhea. No neutropenia was observed in the patient with UGT1A1*6 AA genotype, however, both of the two patients with UGT1A1*28 TA7/7 genotype occurred grade 3-4 neutropenia. Patients with UGT1A1*28 genetic polymorphism (TA 6/7 or TA7/7) had a higher response rate compared with wild-type TA6/6 carriers. (55.6% versus 26.5%). Conclusions: The homozygous genotype of UGT1A1*6 AA and UGT1A1*28 TA7/7 are rare (<5%) in Chinese ESCC population. Not all homozygous AA and TA7/7 carriers occur severe dose limited toxicities (DLT) when treated with irinotecan (160 mg/m(2)) plus S-1 regimen for 2 weeks. However, it's still necessary torigorously observe the occurrence of severe diarrhea and neutropenia in patients with UGT1A1*6 AA and UGT1A1*28 TA7/7 and adjust the dose timely.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the efficacy and safety of Daratumumab for the treatment of primary AL light chain systemic amyloidosis. Methods: Twenty one patients who were diagnosed as primary AL light chain systemic amyloidosis and treated with Daratumumab from 7 centers were retrospectively analyzed. Daratumumab was administrated as first line therapy in seven patients and 14 patients with relapsed settings. Hematological response, safety and survival were analyzed. Results: All 7 patients achieved very good partial response (VGPR) or better with first-line application of daratumumab. Three patients died, and the other four achieved organ remission. Among 14 relapsed patients, 2 patients had a difference of free light chain (dFLC) less than 20 mg/L before treatment, and 9 with a dFLC of more than 50 mg/L. All patients reached partial response (PR) or better, including 4 patients with complete response (CR), 3 with VGPR and 2 with PR. The response rate was 100% in 3 patients with dFLC 20-50 mg/L at baseline. The organ remission rate was 50% in patients with heart involvement and 58.3% in patients with kidney impairment. The overall median follow-up period was 5.3 months, and 11 months in surviving patients. One patient died of severe infection and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) with stable amyloidosis. One patient switched to other regimens because dFLC elevated but did not fulfill progressive disease after 2 year application. As to safety, no grade 3/4 infusion reaction developed, and grade 1 infusion reaction occurred in 3 cases during the first infusion. Lymphocytopenia was seen in 75% patients including grade 3 or more in 30% patients. Conclusion: Daratumumab is effective to eliminate serum free light chain in both newly diagnosed and relapsed patients with systemic amyloidosis.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the interference of daratumumab on immunofixation electrophoresis after treating plasma cell diseases and methods to eliminate the interference. Methods: Serum samples of eight patients with plasma cell diseases treated with daratumumab in Peking University People's Hospital from April 2020 to March 2021 were collected for standard immunofixation electrophoresis and Hydrashift 2/4 daratumumab assay. Results: After treatment, 81.3% (13/16) of the samples showed drug-induced monoclonal antibodies (IgG-κ) . The samples without drug-induced monoclonal bands were related to individual differences, administration intervals, and immunoglobulin levels. Among the samples with IgG-κ monoclonal bands, 76.9% (10/13) could be directly identified as endogenous or exogenous monoclonal bands by immunofixation electrophoresis, and the others (3/13) could be identified by Hydrashift 2/4 daratumumab assay. Conclusion: Hydrashift 2/4 daratumumab assay can remove the band of daratumumab on the immunofixation electrophoresis and help with efficacy evaluation.

Abstract
We report on the first measurement of charm-strange meson D_{s}^{±} production at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV from the STAR experiment. The yield ratio between strange (D_{s}^{±}) and nonstrange (D^{0}) open-charm mesons is presented and compared to model calculations. A significant enhancement, relative to a pythia simulation of p+p collisions, is observed in the D_{s}^{±}/D^{0} yield ratio in Au+Au collisions over a large range of collision centralities. Model calculations incorporating abundant strange-quark production in the quark-gluon plasma and coalescence hadronization qualitatively reproduce the data. The transverse-momentum integrated yield ratio of D_{s}^{±}/D^{0} at midrapidity is consistent with a prediction from a statistical hadronization model with the parameters constrained by the yields of light and strange hadrons measured at the same collision energy. These results suggest that the coalescence of charm quarks with strange quarks in the quark-gluon plasma plays an important role in D_{s}^{±}-meson production in heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract
The Breit-Wheeler process which produces matter and antimatter from photon collisions is experimentally investigated through the observation of 6085 exclusive electron-positron pairs in ultraperipheral Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The measurements reveal a large fourth-order angular modulation of cos4Δϕ=(16.8±2.5)% and smooth invariant mass distribution absent of vector mesons (ϕ, ω, and ρ) at the experimental limit of ≤0.2% of the observed yields. The differential cross section as a function of e^{+}e^{-} pair transverse momentum P_{⊥} peaks at low value with sqrt[⟨P_{⊥}^{2}⟩]=38.1±0.9 MeV and displays a significant centrality dependence. These features are consistent with QED calculations for the collision of linearly polarized photons quantized from the extremely strong electromagnetic fields generated by the highly charged Au nuclei at ultrarelativistic speed. The experimental results have implications for vacuum birefringence and for mapping the magnetic field which is important for emergent QCD phenomena.

Constraints on Cosmic Strings Using Data from the Third Advanced LIGO-Virgo Observing Run. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 126:241102. Abstract
We search for gravitational-wave signals produced by cosmic strings in the Advanced LIGO and Virgo full O3 dataset. Search results are presented for gravitational waves produced by cosmic string loop features such as cusps, kinks, and, for the first time, kink-kink collisions. A template-based search for short-duration transient signals does not yield a detection. We also use the stochastic gravitational-wave background energy density upper limits derived from the O3 data to constrain the cosmic string tension Gμ as a function of the number of kinks, or the number of cusps, for two cosmic string loop distribution models. Additionally, we develop and test a third model that interpolates between these two models. Our results improve upon the previous LIGO-Virgo constraints on Gμ by 1 to 2 orders of magnitude depending on the model that is tested. In particular, for the one-loop distribution model, we set the most competitive constraints to date: Gμ≲4×10^{-15}. In the case of cosmic strings formed at the end of inflation in the context of grand unified theories, these results challenge simple inflationary models.

Abstract
Background:Osteoarthritis (OA) is a serious disease, which is one of the main causes of joint pain and body dysfunction, raising serious economic and social burden. In recent years, there are tremendous articles on the treatment of osteoarthritis, platelet rich plasma (PRP) is one of the new trends in the treatment of osteoarthritis. Objectives:The purpose of this study is to explore the development trend of PRP related osteoarthritis study and grasp the hot spots and directions in this field. Methods:Publications focusing on PRP related osteoarthritis research from 2001 to 2020 were retrieved from Web of Science (WoS) and Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE) database. The retrieving methods were as follow: (theme = platelet rich plasma arthritis OR theme = platelet rich plasma osteoarthritis OR theme = platelet rich plasma cartilage OR theme = platelet rich plasma knee OR theme = platelet rich plasma orthopedic OR theme = platelet rich plasma orthopaedic OR theme = platelet rich plasma articular OR theme = platelet rich plasma joint OR theme = platelet rich plasma tendon). Publications were analyzed only when type is articles or reviews. The VOS viewer was used for the generation of bibliographic coupling and visualized study. Results:A total of 2847 publications were retrieved, including 2636 articles and reviews. Before 2000, there were only 15 relevant papers, which were not included in the specific analysis. It is clear that the number of publications on PRP related OA study is increasing every year, a total of 398 articles or reviews were published in 2020. The United States is the leading country in this field, with a number of 932 publications (35.4%), followed by Italy (304 publications, 11.5%) and China (294 publications, 11.2%). The most prevalent areas of PRP related OA research were orthopedics (1013 papers, 38.4%), sports science (651 papers, 24.7%) and surgery (475 papers,18.0%). The top 3 journal that published the most PRP related OA study is American Journal of Sports Medicine (153 papers, 5.8%), Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery (95 papers, 3.6%), Journal of Orthopaedic Research (83 papers, 3.1%). The Harvard University (96 papers, 3.6%), Hospital for Special Surgery (83 papers, 3.1%) and University of London (75 papers, 2.8%) is the top 3 institution that published the most articles or reviews. Filardo G from Italy published the most articles or reviews (52, 2.0%) in this area, followed by Maffulli N from the UK (49 publications, 1.9%) and Kon E from Italy (46, 1.7%). PRP related OA study can be divided into five categories: intra-articular treatment study, clinical trials related study, soft tissue repairment study, gene and molecular biology study, regeneration and implantation study. Conclusion:Publications on PRP related OA study is increasing according to the analysis on current global trends. The United States is now the leading country in this field, with the largest number and the highest quality of publications. Among the five cluster of PRP related OA studies, “intra-articular treatment study” and “regeneration and implantation study” are considered to be the current research hotspots in the PRP related OA field.References:[1]Foster T E, Puskas B L, Mandelbaum B R, et al. Abstract
OBJECTIVE Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disorder, has been associated with nearly 100 susceptibility loci. Nevertheless, these loci only partially explain SLE heritability and their putative causal variants are rarely prioritised, which make challenging to elucidate disease biology. To detect new SLE loci and causal variants, we performed the largest genome-wide meta-analysis for SLE in East Asian populations. METHODS We newly genotyped 10 029 SLE cases and 180 167 controls and subsequently meta-analysed them jointly with 3348 SLE cases and 14 826 controls from published studies in East Asians. We further applied a Bayesian statistical approach to localise the putative causal variants for SLE associations. RESULTS We identified 113 genetic regions including 46 novel loci at genome-wide significance (p<5×10-8). Conditional analysis detected 233 association signals within these loci, which suggest widespread allelic heterogeneity. We detected genome-wide associations at six new missense variants. Bayesian statistical fine-mapping analysis prioritised the putative causal variants to a small set of variants (95% credible set size ≤10) for 28 association signals. We identified 110 putative causal variants with posterior probabilities ≥0.1 for 57 SLE loci, among which we prioritised 10 most likely putative causal variants (posterior probability ≥0.8). Linkage disequilibrium score regression detected genetic correlations for SLE with albumin/globulin ratio (rg=-0.242) and non-albumin protein (rg=0.238). CONCLUSION This study reiterates the power of large-scale genome-wide meta-analysis for novel genetic discovery. These findings shed light on genetic and biological understandings of SLE.

Global Polarization of Ξ and Ω Hyperons in Au+Au Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 126:162301. Abstract
Global polarization of Ξ and Ω hyperons has been measured for the first time in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The measurements of the Ξ^{-} and Ξ[over ¯]^{+} hyperon polarization have been performed by two independent methods, via analysis of the angular distribution of the daughter particles in the parity violating weak decay Ξ→Λ+π, as well as by measuring the polarization of the daughter Λ hyperon, polarized via polarization transfer from its parent. The polarization, obtained by combining the results from the two methods and averaged over Ξ^{-} and Ξ[over ¯]^{+}, is measured to be ⟨P_{Ξ}⟩=0.47±0.10(stat)±0.23(syst)% for the collision centrality 20%-80%. The ⟨P_{Ξ}⟩ is found to be slightly larger than the inclusive Λ polarization and in reasonable agreement with a multiphase transport model. The ⟨P_{Ξ}⟩ is found to follow the centrality dependence of the vorticity predicted in the model, increasing toward more peripheral collisions. The global polarization of Ω, ⟨P_{Ω}⟩=1.11±0.87(stat)±1.97(syst)% was obtained by measuring the polarization of daughter Λ in the decay Ω→Λ+K, assuming the polarization transfer factor C_{ΩΛ}=1.

Abstract
Nonmonotonic variation with collision energy (sqrt[s_{NN}]) of the moments of the net-baryon number distribution in heavy-ion collisions, related to the correlation length and the susceptibilities of the system, is suggested as a signature for the quantum chromodynamics critical point. We report the first evidence of a nonmonotonic variation in the kurtosis times variance of the net-proton number (proxy for net-baryon number) distribution as a function of sqrt[s_{NN}] with 3.1 σ significance for head-on (central) gold-on-gold (Au+Au) collisions measured solenoidal tracker at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Data in noncentral Au+Au collisions and models of heavy-ion collisions without a critical point show a monotonic variation as a function of sqrt[s_{NN}].

Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by abnormal activation of T cells and caused by an imbalance in the production and clearance of apoptotic cells. We previously showed that the transcription regulator Bach2 regulated abnormal B‐cell activation in SLE. Here, we investigated whether Bach2 was also involved in Th9 cell differentiation in SLE. We found that the proportion of Th9 cells was enhanced in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of SLE patients. The PBMC and CD4+ T cells of SLE patients exhibited a decrease of Bach2 expression and an increase of IL‐9 expression. Furthermore, Bach2 overexpression significantly repressed the levels of PU.1, IRF4, IL‐9, and Th9 cells in the CD4+ T cells of SLE patients and healthy volunteers. In addition, Bach2 overexpression inhibited the levels of IL‐9 and Th9 cells, whereas IRF4 upregulation enhanced the levels of IRF4 and IL‐9 and Th9 cells in the CD4+ T cells of SLE patients and healthy volunteers. The effect of IRF4 up‐regulation was abolished by Bach2 overexpression. In summary, our work suggests that Bach2 overexpression represses Th9 cell differentiation by suppressing IRF4 expression in SLE, and thus, Bach2 may be a novel potential target for SLE treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the immunophenotype and cytogenetic characteristics of primary plasma cell leukemia (pPCL), and to evaluate the efficacy of bortezomib and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as main treatment. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted including 42 pPCL patients admitted to Peking University People's Hospital from January 1998 to March 2019. All patients were followed up until December 31, 2019. The immunophenotype and cytogenetic characteristics were compared with historical data of multiple myeloma (MM). Thirty-nine patients were divided into bortezomib-based group (29 cases) and non-bortezomib group (10 cases). All patients were also divided into hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) group (15 cases) and non-HSCT group (24 cases).Chi-square test was used for efficacy comparison, and Kaplan-Meier method was used for univariate prognostic analysis. Cox proportional hazards model was used for multi-variant analysis. Results: pPCL accounted for 2.6% of the total patients with plasma cell diseases during the same period. There were 22 males and 20 females, with a median age of 50 (30-77) years old at diagnosis. In immunophenotype analysis, tumor cells in pPCL patients also expressed CD38, CD138, CD45, which was similar as patients with MM. However the expression of CXCR4 were more frequently seen in pPCL(73.1% vs. 34.7%, P= 0.000), while intensity of CD9 and CD200 was lower (40.7% vs. 62.5%, P =0.028, 33.3% vs. 58.0%, P=0.021).Overall response rate of bortezomib-based therapy was superior to non-bortezomib therapy (69.0% vs.50.0%). The median survival was 18.2 (0.2-95.7)months, and the 1-and 2-year survival rates were 61.9% and 37.4%, respectively. Multivariate prognostic analysis suggested that age (P= 0.027) and efficacy(P= 0.035)were significantly correlated with survival.HSCT resulted in superior survival compared with chemotherapy alone(26.8 vs. 8.1 months, P=0.021). Conclusions: Immunophenotypes and cytogenetic abnormalities in patients with pPCL are different from those with multiple myeloma. Bortezomib based regimens improve response rate and survival of pPCL. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation also predicts survival benefits.

Abstract
Psoriasis is an autoimmune skin disorder influenced by genetic, epigenetic and environmental factors. We previously found CYP2S1 intragenic DNA methylation cg19430423 site strongly hypomethylated in psoriatic skin tissues. In this study, we performed methylation loci fine-mapping to search the top signals in the entire CYP2S1 gene region, and further carried out gene expression assay, cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation and migration in CYP2S1 overexpressed (CYP2S1over) and silenced (siRNA) human keratinocytes. Target bisulphite conversion sequencing revealed cg19430423 and nearby two loci were the top differentially methylated loci. These three loci located within active enhancer region marked by H3K4Me1 and H3K27AC peaks. Cg19430423 might not bind with ATF1 directly. CYP2S1over repressed NHEK cell proliferation, but have no confirmed evidence on affecting migration, apoptosis and differentiation. Real-time PCR showed that CYP2S1 inhibited expression of IL1β, IL8, IL33, IL36, LL37, CXCL10 and CCL20 gene. In summary, CYP2S1 might inhibit keratinocyte proliferation, and modulate immune response through IL-8, IL-33, IL-36, CXCL-10, CCL20, thus contribute to the development of psoriasis.

Abstract
AIMS The short-term effects of different organic manure nitrogen (N) input on soil ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and bacterial (AOB) activity and community structure at maturity stages of early rice and late rice were investigated in the present paper, in a double-cropping rice system in southern China. METHODS AND RESULTS A field experiment was done by applying five different organic and inorganic N input treatments: (i) 100% N of chemical fertilizer (M0), (ii) 30% N of organic manure and 70% N of chemical fertilizer (M30), (iii) 50% N of organic manure and 50% N of chemical fertilizer (M50), (iv) 100% N of organic manure (M100) and (v) without N fertilizer input as control (CK). Microbial community changes were assessed using fatty acid methyl esters, and ammonia oxidizer (AO) changes were followed using quantitative PCR. The results showed that AOA were higher than that of AOB based upon amoA gene copy at maturity stages of early rice and late rice. Also, the abundance of AOB and AOA with M30, M50 and M100 treatments was significantly higher than that of CK treatment. Manure N input treatments had significant effect on AOB and AOA abundance, and a higher correlation between AOB and manure N input was observed. AOB correlated moderately with soil organic carbon content, and AOA correlated moderately with water-filled pore space. CONCLUSIONS This study found that abundance of AOB and AOA was increased under the given organic N conditions, and the soil AOB and AOA community and diversity were changed by different short-term organic manure N input treatments. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY Soil microbial community and specific N-utilizing microbial groups were affected by organic manure N input practices.

GW190521: A Binary Black Hole Merger with a Total Mass of 150 M_{⊙}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2020; 125:101102. Abstract
On May 21, 2019 at 03:02:29 UTC Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo observed a short duration gravitational-wave signal, GW190521, with a three-detector network signal-to-noise ratio of 14.7, and an estimated false-alarm rate of 1 in 4900 yr using a search sensitive to generic transients. If GW190521 is from a quasicircular binary inspiral, then the detected signal is consistent with the merger of two black holes with masses of 85_{-14}^{+21} M_{⊙} and 66_{-18}^{+17} M_{⊙} (90% credible intervals). We infer that the primary black hole mass lies within the gap produced by (pulsational) pair-instability supernova processes, with only a 0.32% probability of being below 65 M_{⊙}. We calculate the mass of the remnant to be 142_{-16}^{+28} M_{⊙}, which can be considered an intermediate mass black hole (IMBH). The luminosity distance of the source is 5.3_{-2.6}^{+2.4} Gpc, corresponding to a redshift of 0.82_{-0.34}^{+0.28}. The inferred rate of mergers similar to GW190521 is 0.13_{-0.11}^{+0.30} Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1}.
