Abstract
Objective: To analyze the screening, diagnosis, epidemiology, pregnancy outcomes and treatment status in hepatitis C virus antibody-positive pregnant women, in order to provide clinical evidence for further improving prevention and control of maternal and infant safety. Methods: Data of 246 HCV antibody-positive pregnant women admitted to the Second Hospital of Nanjing from January 2014 to December 2019 were analyzed by epidemiological survey research method. Statistical analysis was performed according to different data using t-test, χ2 test, corrected χ2 test or Fisher's exact test. Results: 80 of 246 HCV antibody-positive women had confirmed infection before pregnancy. Of these, 85% were HCV RNA positive, and 16 became pregnant after antiviral therapy. Prenatal examination during pregnancy found that 166 cases were HCV RNA positive, and the HCV RNA positive rate was 81.93%. In the relationship between infection route and birth cohort in HCV antibody-positive pregnant women, there was a statistically significant differences in the proportions of transmission route among birth cohort (χ2=115.6, P<0.001). With the delay of birth cohort, the proportion of infection through drug use was decreased (P<0.001), while the proportion of acupuncture-associated infection (P=0.043) and infant hospitalization history were increased (P=0.005). Among pregnancy complications, HCV antibody-positive pregnant women in HCV RNA<5.0 E+02 IU/ml and ≥5.0 E+02 IU/ml groups had intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (χ2=4.73, P=0.030) and gestational hypertension (χ2=8.65, P=0.003), and the difference in incidence was statistically significant. Postpartum treatment strategy data analysis showed that the treatment rate was highest in the first year of postpartum, and then showed an upward trend year by year, with a statistically significant difference (χ2=17.26,P =0.004). Conclusion: Anti-HCV screening rates are lower among pregnant and reproductive age women. HCV screening should be used as an important supplementary means to strengthen maternal safety and health education management during pregnancy. Active postpartum antiviral therapy, with particularly emphasis on management within the first year after delivery, can significantly improve the treatment rate among women of child bearing age.

Hypertriton Production in p-Pb Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:252003. Abstract
The study of nuclei and antinuclei production has proven to be a powerful tool to investigate the formation mechanism of loosely bound states in high-energy hadronic collisions. The first measurement of the production of _{Λ}^{3}H in p-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV is presented in this Letter. Its production yield measured in the rapidity interval -1<y<0 for the 40% highest-multiplicity p-Pb collisions is dN/dy=[6.3±1.8(stat)±1.2(syst)]×10^{-7}. The measurement is compared with the expectations of statistical hadronization and coalescence models, which describe the nucleosynthesis in hadronic collisions. These two models predict very different yields of the hypertriton in charged particle multiplicity environments relevant to small collision systems such as p-Pb, and therefore the measurement of dN/dy is crucial to distinguish between them. The precision of this measurement leads to the exclusion with a significance larger than 6.9σ of some configurations of the statistical hadronization model, thus constraining the theory behind the production of loosely bound states at hadron colliders.

Polarization of Λ and Λ[over ¯] Hyperons along the Beam Direction in Pb-Pb Collisions at sqrt[s]_{NN}=5.02 TeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:172005. [PMID: 35570422 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.128.172005] [Citation(s) in RCA: 5] [Impact Index Per Article: 2.5] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 09/03/2021] [Revised: 01/04/2022] [Accepted: 03/16/2022] [Indexed: 06/15/2023]
Abstract
The polarization of the Λ and Λ[over ¯] hyperons along the beam (z) direction, P_{z}, has been measured in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded with ALICE at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The main contribution to P_{z} comes from elliptic flow-induced vorticity and can be characterized by the second Fourier sine coefficient P_{z,s2}=⟨P_{z}sin(2φ-2Ψ_{2})⟩, where φ is the hyperon azimuthal emission angle and Ψ_{2} is the elliptic flow plane angle. We report the measurement of P_{z,s2} for different collision centralities and in the 30%-50% centrality interval as a function of the hyperon transverse momentum and rapidity. The P_{z,s2} is positive similarly as measured by the STAR Collaboration in Au-Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV, with somewhat smaller amplitude in the semicentral collisions. This is the first experimental evidence of a nonzero hyperon P_{z} in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC. The comparison of the measured P_{z,s2} with the hydrodynamic model calculations shows sensitivity to the competing contributions from thermal and the recently found shear-induced vorticity, as well as to whether the polarization is acquired at the quark-gluon plasma or the hadronic phase.

Measurement of the Groomed Jet Radius and Momentum Splitting Fraction in pp and Pb-Pb Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:102001. Abstract
This article presents groomed jet substructure measurements in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector. The soft drop grooming algorithm provides access to the hard parton splittings inside a jet by removing soft wide-angle radiation. We report the groomed jet momentum splitting fraction, z_{g}, and the (scaled) groomed jet radius, θ_{g}. Charged-particle jets are reconstructed at midrapidity using the anti-k_{T} algorithm with resolution parameters R=0.2 and R=0.4. In heavy-ion collisions, the large underlying event poses a challenge for the reconstruction of groomed jet observables, since fluctuations in the background can cause groomed parton splittings to be misidentified. By using strong grooming conditions to reduce this background, we report these observables fully corrected for detector effects and background fluctuations for the first time. A narrowing of the θ_{g} distribution in Pb-Pb collisions compared to pp collisions is seen, which provides direct evidence of the modification of the angular structure of jets in the quark-gluon plasma. No significant modification of the z_{g} distribution in Pb-Pb collisions compared to pp collisions is observed. These results are compared with a variety of theoretical models of jet quenching, and provide constraints on jet energy-loss mechanisms and coherence effects in the quark-gluon plasma.

Measurement of Prompt D^{0}, Λ_{c}^{+}, and Σ_{c}^{0,++}(2455) Production in Proton-Proton Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:012001. Abstract
The p_{T}-differential production cross sections of prompt D^{0}, Λ_{c}^{+}, and Σ_{c}^{0,++}(2455) charmed hadrons are measured at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV. This is the first measurement of Σ_{c}^{0,++} production in hadronic collisions. Assuming the same production yield for the three Σ_{c}^{0,+,++} isospin states, the baryon-to-meson cross section ratios Σ_{c}^{0,+,++}/D^{0} and Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0} are calculated in the transverse momentum (p_{T}) intervals 2<p_{T}<12 and 1<p_{T}<24 GeV/c. Values significantly larger than in e^{+}e^{-} collisions are observed, indicating for the first time that baryon enhancement in hadronic collisions also extends to the Σ_{c}. The feed-down contribution to Λ_{c}^{+} production from Σ_{c}^{0,+,++} is also reported and is found to be larger than in e^{+}e^{-} collisions. The data are compared with predictions from event generators and other phenomenological models, providing a sensitive test of the different charm-hadronization mechanisms implemented in the models.

Measurement of the Cross Sections of Ξ_{c}^{0} and Ξ_{c}^{+} Baryons and of the Branching-Fraction Ratio BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e})/BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}) in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV. Abstract
The p_{T}-differential cross sections of prompt charm-strange baryons Ξ_{c}^{0} and Ξ_{c}^{+} were measured at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) in proton-proton (pp) collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The Ξ_{c}^{0} baryon was reconstructed via both the semileptonic decay (Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}) and the hadronic decay (Ξ^{-}π^{+}) channels. The Ξ_{c}^{+} baryon was reconstructed via the hadronic decay (Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^{+}) channel. The branching-fraction ratio BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e})/BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+})=1.38±0.14(stat)±0.22(syst) was measured with a total uncertainty reduced by a factor of about 3 with respect to the current world average reported by the Particle Data Group. The transverse momentum (p_{T}) dependence of the Ξ_{c}^{0}- and Ξ_{c}^{+}-baryon production relative to the D^{0} meson and to the Σ_{c}^{0,+,++}- and Λ_{c}^{+}-baryon production are reported. The baryon-to-meson ratio increases toward low p_{T} up to a value of approximately 0.3. The measurements are compared with various models that take different hadronization mechanisms into consideration. The results provide stringent constraints to these theoretical calculations and additional evidence that different processes are involved in charm hadronization in electron-positron (e^{+}e^{-}) and hadronic collisions.

Abstract
This Letter presents the first experimental evidence of the attractive strong interaction between a proton and a ϕ meson. The result is obtained from two-particle correlations of combined p-ϕ⊕ p[over ¯]-ϕ pairs measured in high-multiplicity pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ALICE Collaboration. The spin-averaged scattering length and effective range of the p-ϕ interaction are extracted from the fully corrected correlation function employing the Lednický-Lyuboshits approach. In particular, the imaginary part of the scattering length vanishes within uncertainties, indicating that inelastic processes do not play a prominent role for the p-ϕ interaction. These data demonstrate that the interaction is dominated by elastic p-ϕ scattering. Furthermore, an analysis employing phenomenological Gaussian- and Yukawa-type potentials is conducted. Under the assumption of the latter, the N-ϕ coupling constant is found to be g_{N-ϕ}=0.14±0.03(stat)±0.02(syst). This work provides valuable experimental input to accomplish a self-consistent description of the N-ϕ interaction, which is particularly relevant for the more fundamental studies on partial restoration of chiral symmetry in nuclear medium.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To carry out prenatal diagnosis for a fetus with absent nasal bone by using cytogenetic and molecular techniques. METHODS Chromosomal karyotyping, single nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP-array) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assays were applied for the diagnoses. Peripheral blood samples were also taken from the parents for chromosomal karyotyping and FISH analysis. RESULTS The fetus was found to have a 46,XX,add(21)(p11.2) karyotype, and SNP-array has revealed a 11.3 Mb duplication at 21q22.12q22.3 (hg19: 36 762 648-48 093 361), which was confirmed by FISH. Both parents were found to be normal by chromosomal karyotyping and FISH analysis. The fetus was ultimately found to have a karyotype of 46,XX,der(21)t(21;21)(p11.2;q22.1), resulting a de novo partial trisomy of 21q22.1. CONCLUSION Combined use of various techniques has enabled accurate prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling for the fetus.

Abstract
AIMS This study aimed to compare the bone mineral densities (BMDs) among male patients with latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA), classical type 1 diabetes (T1DM), and type 2 diabetes (T2DM), and to examine the risk factors for developing low BMD in these patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS Between January 2017 and October 2020, a total of 57, 67, and 223 male patients with LADA, classical T1DM, and T2DM, respectively, were recruited from the endocrinology department of Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital. Hormonal markers of bone metabolism, lipid profiles, uric acid, glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), and beta-cell function were measured using blood samples. BMD was measured at the lumbar spine, femoral neck, and right hip by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. RESULTS The mean BMD values from all three skeletal sites in male patients with LADA were comparable to those with classical T1DM but were much lower than those with T2DM. After adjusting for confounding factors, multiple linear regression analysis demonstrated that in all male patients with diabetes, body mass index (BMI), uric acid, and fasting C-peptide showed significant positive associations with BMD at all three skeletal sites; however, osteocalcin showed a negative association at all three sites. CONCLUSIONS Compared with male patients with T2DM, lower BMDs were observed in patients with LADA and T1DM. Low BMI, uric acid, C-peptide levels, and high osteocalcin levels are risk factors for developing low BMD in male patients with diabetes.

Abstract
Objective Global developmental delay has markedly high phenotypic and genetic heterogeneity, and is a great challenge for clinical diagnosis. Hypotonia, ataxia, and delayed development syndrome (HADDS), first reported in 2017, is one type of global development delay. The aim of the present study was to investigate the genetic etiology of a Chinese boy with global developmental delay. Methods We combined clinical and imaging phenotyping with trio whole-exome sequencing and Sanger sequencing to the patient and his clinically unaffected parents. A luciferase reporter and immunofluorescence were performed to detect the effect of mutation on transcriptional activity and subcellular localization. Results The patient presented with several previously unreported symptoms in the patients with HADDS, including hemangiomas, mild hearing abnormalities and tracheomalacia. A novel EBF3 c.589A > G missense mutation (p.Asn197Asp, p.N197D) was identified in the patient but not in his parents. By constructing the plasmid and transfecting HEK293T cells, EBF3-N197D mutant showed impaired activation of luciferase reporter expression of the p21 promoter, and the mutant affected its entry into the nucleus. Conclusion To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of EBF3 pathogenic mutation which associated with HADDS in the Chinese population. Our results expand the phenotypes and pathogenic mutation spectrum of HADDS, thus potentially facilitating the clinical diagnosis and genetic counseling of HADDS patients.

Abstract
Periodontitis is the most common chronic oral disease and is characterized by active osteoclast activity and significant alveolar bone resorption. However, the key regulatory factors of periodontal bone loss have yet to be determined, and reasonable intervention methods for periodontitis have not been developed. Currently, long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have shown a remarkable ability to maintain normal cell and tissue homeostasis. Interestingly, we recently found that the lncRNA Nron is negatively correlated with alveolar bone resorption in periodontitis model. To explore the role of Nron in periodontal bone loss, osteoclastic-specific Nron knockout mice and osteoclastic-specific Nron transgenic mice were generated. Nron effectively inhibited osteoclastogenesis and alveolar bone resorption. Mechanistically, Nron was found to effectively promote the nuclear transport of NF-κb repressing factor (NKRF). In addition, NKRF in the nucleus significantly repressed the transcription of Nfatc1, which is a major NF-κb signaling molecule. Importantly, local injection of the Nron overexpression vector significantly inhibited osteoclastogenesis and alveolar bone resorption, which indicated the translational application potential of lncRNAs in the treatment of bone resorption in periodontitis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the nature of chromosomal abnormality in a fetus with nasal bone dysplasia and clarify its clinical effect. METHODS Fetal chromosome karyotype was analyzed by G-banding. Single nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP-array) was used to detect the chromosomal copy number variations, and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was used to verify the result. RESULTS Fetal karyotype analysis showed an unknown chromosomal fragment in 21q21 region. SNP-array discovered a 7.5 Mb duplication in the 21q22.12q22.3 region. FISH confirmed that the unknown fragment was derived from a 21q22.12q22.3 duplication. CONCLUSION Combined use of karyotype analysis, SNP-array and FISH has clarified the nature of chromosomal abnormality in a fetus with nasal bone dysplasia, which has enabled more accurate prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Prediction of death is the philosopher's stone of arrhythmology. The electrophysiology has proven to be an important tool to predict the risk of death. Periodic repolarization dynamics (PRD) is a novel electrocardiographic marker that indicates the sympathetic effect on repolarization. PRD qualifies the low-frequency oscillations of cardiac repolarization instability using high-resolution 12 channel 24-h Holter recording. Several studies showed that PRD was an independent predictor of all-cause mortality and cardiac mortality. However, the prediction value of PRD has not been established.
Purpose
To evaluate the prediction value of PRD as an approach of risk stratification that selects patients at a higher risk of death.
Methods
We conducted electronic searches of MEDLINE (PubMed), Embase, Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Science Citation Index Expanded, WHO International Clinical Trials Registry platform (ICTRP) and ClinicalTrials.gov from inception to January 9th, 2020. We also screened for relevant abstracts from conferences including ACC Annual Scientific Sessions, ESC Congress and Annual Congress of the EHRA for the last five years (2014–2019). The primary outcome was all-cause mortality and secondary outcome was cardiac mortality. We included study with large sample size while more than one study were found based on the same originated population. We extracted data from included studies and reported pooled outcomes as hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidential intervals (CI) for time-to-event outcomes using DerSimonian-Laird random-effects model. We did statistical analyses using Stata version 12.0 and R version 3.6.1.
Results
5 studies including 6758 patients met all selection criteria for our meta-analysis. Follow-up period ranged from 20.4 to 75.1 months. Among 5 studies, 3 studies considered PRD as dichotomous variable and the cut-off value was 5.75 deg2, while 2 studies considered PRD as continuous variable and coefficient was expressed in standardized units (increase per standard deviation). We did subgroup analysis according to the type of variable because of heterogeneity. There was a significant higher risk of all-cause mortality in PRD ≥5.75 deg2 patients compared with PRD <5.75 deg2 patients (HR 2.37, 95% CI 1.77–3.17). As for continuous variable, increased PRD was a predictor for all-cause death (HR 1.28, 95% CI 1.14–1.42) (Figure). The cardiac mortality was significantly increased in patients with PRD ≥5.75 deg2 vs PRD <5.75 deg2 (HR 3.06, 95% CI 1.66–5.65). Increased PRD was associated with cardiac mortality in continuous variable subgroup (HR 1.34, 95% CI 1.21–1.48) (Figure).
Conclusion
Our findings suggest PRD is a significant predictor of all-cause mortality and cardiac mortality. PRD provides new additional electrophysiological indicator for risk stratification until further investigations are available.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Atrial fibrillation (AF), one of the most common comorbidities with heart failure (HF), is associated with worse prognosis in HF patients receiving cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). However, there is still no convenient tool to evaluate and identify patients with high risk of mortality and hospitalization due to heart failure in CRT candidates with AF.
Methods
We included 152 consecutive patients with AF for CRT in our hospital from January 2009 to July 2019. Multivariate Cox regression was applied to derive a nomogram, using multiple imputation for missing values and backward stepwise regression for variable selection.
Results
Five predictors were incorporated in the nomogram, including N-terminal pro brain natriuretic protein (NTproBNP) >1745pg/mL, history of syncope, previous pulmonary hypertension (PHP), moderate or severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) >4mIU/L. Concordance index (0.70, 95% CI 0.62–0.77), corrected concordance index (0.67, 95% CI 0.59–0.74) and calibration curve showed optimal discrimination and calibration of the established nomogram. Significant difference of overall event-free survival was recognized by the nomogram-derived scores in patients with high risk (>50 points), intermediate risk (21–50 points) and low risk (0–20 points) before CRT.
Conclusion
Our nomogram may be an applicable tool for early risk stratification among CRT candidates with AF.

Abstract
Objective To estimate a stillbirth rate at 24 or more gestational weeks in 2015–2016 and to explore potentially preventable causes in China. Design A multi‐centre cross‐sectional study. Setting Ninety‐six hospitals distributed in 24 (of 34) provinces in China. Population A total of 75 132 births at 24 completed weeks of gestation or more. Methods COX Proportional Hazard Models were performed to examine risk factors for antepartum and intrapartum stillbirths. Population attributable risk percentage was calculated for major risk factors. Correspondence analysis was used to explore region‐specific risk factors for stillbirths. Main outcome measures Stillbirth rate and risk factors for stillbirth. Results A total of 75 132 births including 949 stillbirths were used for the final analysis, giving a weighted stillbirth rate of 13.2 per 1000 births (95% CI 7.9–18.5). Small for gestational age (SGA) and pre‐eclampsia/eclampsia increased antepartum stillbirths by 26.2% and 11.7%, respectively. Fetal anomalies increased antepartum and intrapartum stillbirths by 17.9% and 7.4%, respectively. Overall, 31.4% of all stillbirths were potentially preventable. Advanced maternal age, pre‐pregnant obesity, chronic hypertension and diabetes mellitus were important risk factors in East China; low education and SGA were major risk factors in Northwest, Southwest, Northeast and South China; and pre‐eclampsia/eclampsia and intrapartum complications were significant risk factors in Central China. Conclusions The prevalence of stillbirth was 13.2 per 1000 births in China in 2015–2016. Nearly one‐third of all stillbirths may be preventable. Strategies based on regional characteristics should be considered to reduce further the burden of stillbirths in China. Tweetable abstract The stillbirth rate was 13.2 per 1000 births in China in 2015–2016 and nearly one‐third of all stillbirths may be preventable. Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The chemokine monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) is involved in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study aimed to investigate whether urinary MCP-1 can distinguish patients with AD, patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) and cognitively normal (CN) subjects. METHODS A total of 754 participants, including 97 patients with AD, 50 patients with aMCI and 84 age- and sex-matched CN controls as well as a cohort of 523 CN subjects of different ages, were enrolled from five hospitals located in different areas of China. Urinary MCP-1 levels were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. The correlations between urinary MCP-1 levels and cognition test scores or age were analysed. The optimal diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were determined using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. RESULTS In the cohort of CN subjects of different ages, urinary MCP-1 levels increased with ageing and were correlated with age. The urinary MCP-1 levels were higher in females than in males. In the cohort composed of patients with AD, aMCI and age- and sex-matched CN controls, urinary MCP-1 levels were significantly higher in patients with AD and aMCI than in CN controls. There were no differences in urine MCP-1 levels between the AD group and the aMCI group. The urinary MCP-1 levels were correlated with the Mini-Mental State Examination scores and age, and were able to differentiate patients with AD and aMCI from CN subjects. CONCLUSIONS Urinary MCP-1 is a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of AD and aMCI.
