Abstract
Pentraxins3 (PTX3) is an acute-phase protein of the pentraxin family that is synthetized and stored in a variety of cells. As an important mediator of innate immunity, PTX3 is rapidly released during microbial invasion and inflammatory response. It promotes the recognition of pathogens by myeloid cells through regulating complement activation. Recent studies have indicated that PTX3 concentrations in peripheral blood or tissues increase rapidly after infection, and the increased level is associated with the severity of the disease. Thus, PTX3 appears to be a vital clinical biomarker in the diagnosis and prognosis of pulmonary infectious diseases.

SLC7A11-associated ferroptosis in acute injury diseases: mechanisms and strategies. EUROPEAN REVIEW FOR MEDICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL SCIENCES 2023; 27:4386-4398. [PMID: 37259719 DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_202305_32444] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [MESH Headings] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 06/02/2023]
Abstract
Ferroptosis is a kind of iron-dependent renewal programmed death. Its main mechanism is to catalyze the unsaturated fatty acids highly expressed on the cell membrane under the effect of divalent iron, to produce lipid peroxidation, thus inducing cell death. SLC7A11 is a known iron death-related factor. It has been proved that iron death is involved in the occurrence and development of acute diseases, but the specific mechanism is unknown. The purpose of this review is to highlight the regulatory properties of SLC7A11 and gain a deeper understanding of its role in ferroptosis-related acute injury diseases. This is a narrative review. PubMed was used as the main source to randomly implement literature search strategy to index Scopus articles. No specific terms are used. Studies have shown that SLC7A11 may affect the sensitivity of cells to iron ptosis by regulating it at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level, which is related to the pathology of many acute injury diseases, such as acute lung injury (ALI), acute kidney injury (AKI), acute liver injury, myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, and acute cerebral hemorrhage. In order to clarify this point, more and more researchers turn their attention to the study of the specific mechanism between SLC7A11 and ferroptosis-related acute injury diseases. In summary, this review summarized some specific mechanisms by which ferroptosis could be controlled by SLC7A11 and clarified the underlying mechanisms of a series of diseases caused by SLC7A11-associated ferroptosis. It also provided more scientific justification for the clinical application of targeting ferroptosis in preventing and treating various diseases.

Abstract
We report on the first proton-induced single proton- and neutron-removal reactions from the neutron-deficient ^{14}O nucleus with large Fermi-surface asymmetry S_{n}-S_{p}=18.6 MeV at ∼100 MeV/nucleon, a widely used energy regime for rare-isotope studies. The measured inclusive cross sections and parallel momentum distributions of the ^{13}N and ^{13}O residues are compared to the state-of-the-art reaction models, with nuclear structure inputs from many-body shell-model calculations. Our results provide the first quantitative contributions of multiple reaction mechanisms including the quasifree knockout, inelastic scattering, and nucleon transfer processes. It is shown that the inelastic scattering and nucleon transfer, usually neglected at such energy regime, contribute about 50% and 30% to the loosely bound proton and deeply bound neutron removal, respectively. These multiple reaction mechanisms should be considered in analyses of inclusive one-nucleon removal cross sections measured at intermediate energies for quantitative investigation of single-particle strengths and correlations in atomic nuclei.

Abstract
We studied the effect of CCDC3 on the viability of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. The levels of CCDC3 mRNA and the corresponding protein in MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, T-47D, and HCC1937 cell lines were measured by reverse transcription quantitative real-time PCR and Western blotting. Since MDA-MB-231 cells had higher expression of mRNA CCDC3 and CCDC3 protein, we used this cell line for transfection with small interfering RNA by lentivirus. Cell Counting Kit-8 and clone formation assay were used to detect the effects of CCDC3 knockdown on cell viability; flow cytometry was used to detect the effects of CCDC3 knockdown on cell apoptosis and cell cycle. In MDA-MB-231 cell line, the CCDC3 protein level was significantly down-regulated after CCDC3 knockdown in comparison with the control group (p<0.05). The cell viability and the number of clones in the CCDC3 knockdown group were significantly reduced (p<0.05), while the apoptosis rate significantly increased (p<0.05). Thus, after CCDC3 knockdown, cell viability is weakened in MDA-MB-231 cells, and cell apoptosis rate is increased. Therefore, CCDC3 gene is promising as a new candidate target for BC treatment.

Abstract
Pathogenic diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection has always been a clinical problem. The widespread application of metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS)provides a rapid and accurate method for pathogenic diagnosis. However, how to interpret the results of mNGS detection, especially whether it has diagnostic value in detecting pathogens with low sequence number, has always puzzled clinicians. This paper discusses the definition of low sequence number (lower reads)detected by mNGS in lower respiratory tract infection, the cause of occurrence, the method to determine the reliability of the results, and how to correctly interpret the low sequence number report in combination with clinical practice. It is hoped that by comprehensively mastering the detection knowledge, the proper clinical analysis thinking can be established to improve the diagnostic ability of pathogens with low sequence number detected by mNGS in lower respiratory tract infection.

Abstract
Aim Research on the health checkup status of urban residents in Southwest China is limited. In this study, we aimed to investigate the current status of health checkups and explore their influencing factors by analyzing the cognition, attitudes, and practices of urban residents in Southwest China. Methods We sampled 1200 urban residents for a questionnaire survey. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 23, and logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors affecting cognition, attitudes, and practices regarding health checkups. A P value < 0.05 was used to identify variables significantly associated with the outcome variable. Results Overall, 29% of the residents understood the importance of health checkups. The main ways urban residents acquire health-related knowledge are through the use of mobile media and medical staff health education. Only 40% of residents had undergone a regular checkup. Health self-assessment, economic reasons, and time are the factors that interfere with urban residents' health checkups. Logistic regression analysis showed that occupation status, educational background, self-assessed health status, exercise status, and monthly income level were the common influencing factors of health checkup cognition and planning. Whether residents had participated in a medical checkup program was also related to sex and age. Conclusions Urban residents in Southwest China generally had a high willingness to undergo physical examinations, but there were differences in knowledge and practice; at the same time, residents lacked understanding of respiratory assessments. Improving the health literacy of medical staff, strengthening urban residents' health education, and enhancing the utilization rate of health checkups in urban residents are necessary and urgent.

Abstract
To develop a sensitive, specific, and rapid approach for the detection Getah virus (GETV), a set of primers targeting the conserved region of the E1 gene was created. The TaqMan-based real-time PCR method for GETV detection was developed by optimizing the reaction conditions. The method demonstrated excellent specificity, and amplification did not occur with the causative agents of all prevalent swine viral infections (CSFV, PRRSV, PRV, PEDV, PTV, and JEV), except GETV. Additionally, upon assessing the sensitivity of the method, the minimum detection limit for GETV was found to be 5.94 copies/μL, which is 10 times higher than that of the traditional PCR approach. Further, the intra- and inter-assay variation coefficients were less than 1%, demonstrating good repeatability. Moreover, GETV was found in 10 of the 20 field serum samples using real-time PCR but only in three of the samples using traditional PCR. Consequently, the first GETV TaqMan-based real-time PCR approach based on the E1 gene was developed for GETV pathogenic diagnoses, and this exhibited high specificity, sensitivity, and repeatability. This assay is practical for the pathogenic diagnosis and epidemiology of GETV.

Response of microbial community and biological nitrogen removal to the accumulation of nonylphenol in sequencing batch reactor. INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY : IJEST 2023; 20:1-12. Abstract
The widespread existence of nonylphenol in the environmental rendered from wastewater discharge has become a growing concern for its endocrine disrupting effects on microorganisms. In this study, the performance of nitrifying and denitrifying microbial community in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) was investigated under different nonylphenol concentrations. The SBR was shown to be less effective in nitrogen removal at higher concentration of nonylphenol. Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Actinobacteria were characterized by 454 pyrosequencing as the dominant bacteria, nitrogen removal functional bacteria in these three phyla were inhibited by nonylphenol, and Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria were more sensitive to nonylphenol. With the accumulation of nonylphenol, the population of the most abundant denitrifying bacteria (Thauera spp.) and nitrifying bacteria (Nitrosomonas spp.) significantly reduced. Microbial diversity increased due to nonylphenol perturbation, which is indicated by the changes in microbial alpha diversity. Principal component analysis showed high similarity between microbial community in low and high concentration of nonylphenol, and the core genera involved in nitrogen removal had a low correlation with other genera shown in co-occurrence network. Moreover, linear discriminant analysis effect size analysis revealed intergroup differences in microorganisms. The mechanism of accumulated NP on the diversity and metabolism of the microbial community was examined. This paper established a theoretical foundation for the treatment of NP-containing wastewater and provided hints for further research about NP impact on biological nitrogen removal. Abstract
AIM To investigate whether spleen imaging characteristics of baseline 2-[18F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (18F-FDG) positron-emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) can help to predict the clinical outcome in complete response (CR) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). MATERIALS AND METHODS Three hundred and six patients with DLBCL were enrolled in the study and divided into recurrence and non-recurrence groups. The splenic abnormalities were compared using the chi-square test and quantitative indexes were compared using the t-test. The Cox proportional hazard regression model was used for univariate and multivariate analysis. Kaplan-Meier curves and log-rank tests were used to compare progression-free survival (PFS). Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to match patients with and without splenic abnormalities according to age, gender, and initial Ann Arbor stage at a 1:2 ratio (52:104); then the recurrence and PFS results were compared again. RESULTS Age, international prognostic index (IPI), stage, splenomegaly, and focal splenic lesions were significantly different between the recurrence and non-recurrence groups. IPI, stage, baseline spleen mean standard uptake value (SUVmean)/liver SUVmean, splenomegaly, and focal lesions were selected by Cox single-factor analysis, and only focal lesions showed a statistical difference in terms of Cox multivariate analysis (p=0.022, hazard ratio [HR]: 2.843). After PSM, focal splenic lesions (n=20) were still statistically different (p=0.003) between the recurrence and non-recurrence groups, and this played an essential role in PFS forecasting (p=0.0004, HR: 3.767). CONCLUSION Focal splenic lesions were identified as an independent risk factor for the prognosis of DLBCL. Pretreatment splenomegaly and focal splenic lesions appeared to be related to the relapse and PFS of DLBCL patients. Focal splenic lesions still showed meaningful predictive value even with propensity matching.

Abstract
Objective The existing studies involving omentin-1 have mainly focused on relationships with single cardiovascular risk factor. Whether omentin-1 is associated with the aggregation of cardiovascular risk factors has not been reported. We investigate the relationship between the serum omentin-1 level and aggregation of cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents. Subjects and Methods A total of 741 young students, 11-16 years of age, were enrolled using a stratified cluster sampling method. The participants were given a questionnaire survey and underwent a physical examination. The aggregation of cardiovascular risk factors was defined as two or more cardiovascular risk factors occurring simultaneously in the same individual. Results Partial correlation analysis suggested that serum omentin-1 level was significantly correlated with waist circumference (R=-0.086, P=0.019) and Body Mass Index (R=-0.096, P=0.009). Logistic regression analysis showed that as the serum omentin-1 level increased, the risk of aggregation of cardiovascular risk factors decreased. Cardiovascular risk factors which were most closely associated with a decrease in the serum omentin-1 level were obesity calculated by Body Mass Index (OR=0.988, P=0.043) and central obesity calculated by waist circumference (OR=0.993, P=0.012). Conclusions The serum omentin-1 level in adolescents is inversely associated with the aggregation of cardiovascular risk factors. Waist circumference and Body Mass Index are factors most closely associated with a decrease in the serum omentin-1 level.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) is caused by abnormal androgen receptor (AR) genes that show variable genotypes and phenotypes. However, the correlation between genotype and phenotype is unclear. METHODS We retrospectively evaluated 64 patients with AIS at Shanghai Children's Hospital from 2015 to 2022. We analysed the clinical data of the patients, including hormone levels, AR gene variants, and functional domains. RESULTS Variants occurred in the 3 major functional domains in 56 patients, including 23 patients with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) and 33 with partial androgen insensitivity syndrome (PAIS). The incidence of nonscrotal fusion (P = 0.019) and proximal urethral opening (P = 0.0002) in the ligand-binding domain (LBD) group was higher than that in the non-LBD group. The phallus length in the LBD group was significantly shorter than that in the non-LBD group (P = 0.009). The external masculinization score (EMS) in the LBD group was significantly lower than that in the non-LBD group (P = 0.013). The levels of inhibin-B (INHB; P = 0.0007), basal luteinizing hormone (LH; P = 0.033), LH peak (P = 0.002), and testosterone (T) after human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) stimulation (P = 0.001) in the LBD group were higher than those in the non-LBD group. There were 53 variants in 64 patients, including 42 reported and 11 novel AR variants, including p.Met247Arg, p.Asp266Glyfs*39, p.Arg362Serfs*140, p.Ala385Val, p.Glu541Asp, p.Pro613Leu, p.Pro695Leu, p.Asn757Asp, c.1616 + 1dup, c.1886-1G > A and exon 5-7 deletion. CONCLUSIONS The EMS of patients with AIS in the LBD group was significantly lower than that in the non-LBD group. The phallus length was shorter, and the incidences of proximal urethral opening and nonscrotal fusion were higher, suggesting that the phenotypes in the LBD group were more severe. The levels of INHB, basal LH, peak LH, and T after HCG stimulation in the LBD group were higher than those in the non-LBD group, suggesting that androgen resistance in the LBD group was more severe. We identified 53 variants in 64 patients: 42 reported and 11 novel AR variants. These findings provide new and deeper insight into AIS diagnosis and genetic assessment of AIS.

Abstract
Objective: To inhibit the stemness maintenance potential of endometrial cancer and increase the sensitivity of endometrial cancer side population cells to chemotherapy drugs by inducing extensive deSUMOylation modification of proteins. Methods: Flow cytometry was used to sort and culture CD133(+) CD44(+) KLE endometrial cancer cell clone spheres. Protein expression level of small ubiquitin-related modifier 1 (SUMO1) and two stemness maintenance genes of tumor side population cells, octamer binding transcription factor-4 (Oct4) and sex determining region Y-box2 (Sox2), were detected by western blotting method. Lentivirus-mediated Sentrin/SUMO-specific proteases 1 (SENP1) gene was stably transfected into KLE side population cells. Western blotting was used to detect the protein expressions of SENP1, SUMO1, Oct4 and Sox2. The clone formation rate was compared between KLE side population cells with or without SENP1 overexpression. Flow cytometry was applied to detect cell cycle changes. 3-(4, 5-Dimethylthiazole-2)-2, 5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) experiment and flow cytometry apoptosis method were used to detect the chemosensitivity of the side population of endometrial cancer cells to cisplatin. Tumor-bearing mouse models of endometrial cancer were established to detect the effect of SENP1 overexpression on the chemotherapy sensitivity of cisplatin. Results: Compared with CD133(-)CD44(-) KLE cells, CD133(+) CD44(+) KLE side population cells could form clonal spheres and express higher levels of SUMO1, Oct4 and Sox2 proteins (P<0.05). Compared with KLE side population cells that were not transfected with SENP1 gene, the expression level of SENP1 protein in KLE side population cells overexpressing SUMO1、Oct4 and Sox2 were lower. The clonal sphere formation rate was reduced from (25.67±5.44)% to (7.46±1.42)%, and cell cycle shifted from G(0)/G(1) phase to G(2) phase. IC(50) of cisplatin decreased from (55.46±6.14) μg/ml to (11.55±3.12) μg/ml, and cell apoptosis rate increased from (9.76±2.09)% to (16.79±3.44)%. Overexpression of SENP1 could reduce the tumorigenesis rate of KLE side population cells in vivo and increase their chemotherapy sensitivity to cisplatin (P<0.05). Conclusion: Overexpression of SENP1 can induce protein deSUMOylation modification, inhibit the stemness maintenance potential of endometrial cancer side population cells, and enhance their chemotherapy sensitivity, which provides a new reference for gene therapy of endometrial cancer.

The qualitative data was described by composition ratio, and the chi-square test was used for statistical analysis. The logistic regression was used to assess the impact on suspected occupational disease and occupational contraindication from personal general conditions, occupational history, company information. Results: The abnormal detection rate of vinyl chloride monomer workers in Binhai New Area was higher than that in other areas (χ(2)=5.20, P=0.023). The abnormal detection rate of vinyl chloride monomer workers in non manufacturing industries was higher than that in manufacturing industries (χ(2)=7.74, P=0.005). The abnormal detection rate of vinyl chloride monomer workers in domestic enterprises was higher than that in foreign invested enterprises (χ(2)=22.38, P<0.01). Compared with the normal group of vinyl chloride monomer workers, the abnormal group of workers was older and had longer working years, The difference was statistically significant (Z=-3.32, -3.54, P=0.001, <0.01). The employer of vinyl chloride monomer workers is in Binhai New Area, the economic type is domestic funded enterprise, the industry is classified as non manufacturing industry, the age is more than 40 years old, and the length of service is more than 20 years old, which is the influencing factor for workers to detect abnormalities (OR=1.875, 95%CI: 1.279~2.749; OR=1.657, 95%CI: 1.071~2.563; OR=3.562, 95%CI: 2.057~6.170; OR=2.166, 95%CI: 1.245~3.768; OR=1.968, 95%CI: 1.345~2.879, all P<0.05) . Conclusion: To protect the health of workers and prevent occupational diseases, the management of vinyl chloride exposure on production process, especially in domestic enterprise, should be improved. Also, better occupational health surveillance should be provided to female workers.

Abstract
A case of keratitis caused by microsporidia infection was reported. A 57-year-old female patient, without any obvious predisposing cause, presented with eye redness, eye abrasion and vision loss for one year in the left eye. The patient was diagnosed with viral keratitis based on laboratory examinations and clinical symptoms two months ago in our hospital. He was given outpatient treatment for antivirus. Two months later, he was admitted to our hospital with worsened condition that presented with corneal ulcer. After admission, corneal scraping examination was performed for the detection of microsporidia with calcofluor white (CFW) and Ziehl-Neelsen staining, the smear revealed multiple oval spore-like structures, with acid-fast positive and showed blue fluorescence on potassium hydroxide with CFW stain, confirming a diagnosis of microsporidial keratitis in the left eye. Treatment: topical use of ofloxacin eye ointment and voriconazole eye drops was not effective, and then penetrating keratoplasty was performed, and the patient's condition was stable after surgery. At present, they are still in treatment and follow-up.

Abstract
Periodontitis, a chronic, inflammatory disease, induces systemic inflammation and contributes to the development of neurodegenerative diseases. The precise etiology of the most common neurodegenerative disorders, such as sporadic Alzheimer's, Parkinson's diseases and multiple sclerosis (AD, PD, and MS, respectively), remains to be revealed. Chronic neuroinflammation is a well-recognized component of these disorders, and evidence suggests that systemic inflammation is a possible stimulus for neuroinflammation development. Systemic inflammation can lead to deleterious consequences on the brain if the inflammation is sufficiently severe or if the brain shows vulnerabilities due to genetic predisposition, aging, or neurodegenerative diseases. It has been proposed that periodontal disease can initiate or contribute to the AD pathogenesis through multiple pathways, including key periodontal pathogens. Dysbiotic oral bacteria can release bacterial products into the bloodstream and eventually cross the brain-blood barrier; these bacteria can also cause alterations to gut microbiota that enhance inflammation and potentially affect brain function via the gut-brain axis. The trigeminal nerve has been suggested as another route for connecting oral bacterial products to the brain. PD and MS are often preceded by gastrointestinal symptoms or aberrant gut microbiome composition, and alterations in the enteric nervous system accompany the disease. Clinical evidence has suggested that patients with periodontitis are at a higher risk of developing PD and MS. This nexus among the brain, periodontal disease, and systemic inflammation heralds new ways in which microglial cells, the main innate immune cells, and astrocytes, the crucial regulators of innate and adaptive immune responses in the brain, contribute to brain pathology. Currently, the lack of understanding of the pathogenesis of neurodegeneration is hindering treatment development. However, we may prevent this pathogenesis by tackling one of its possible contributors (periodontitis) for systemic inflammation through simple preventive oral hygiene measures.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical epidemiological characteristics including composition of pathogens , clinical characteristics, and disease prognosis acute bacterial meningitis (ABM) in Chinese children. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical and laboratory data of 1 610 children <15 years of age with ABM in 33 tertiary hospitals in China from January 2019 to December 2020. Patients were divided into different groups according to age,<28 days group, 28 days to <3 months group, 3 months to <1 year group, 1-<5 years of age group, 5-<15 years of age group; etiology confirmed group and clinically diagnosed group according to etiology diagnosis. Non-numeric variables were analyzed with the Chi-square test or Fisher's exact test, while non-normal distrituction numeric variables were compared with nonparametric test. Results: Among 1 610 children with ABM, 955 were male and 650 were female (5 cases were not provided with gender information), and the age of onset was 1.5 (0.5, 5.5) months. There were 588 cases age from <28 days, 462 cases age from 28 days to <3 months, 302 cases age from 3 months to <1 year of age group, 156 cases in the 1-<5 years of age and 101 cases in the 5-<15 years of age. The detection rates were 38.8% (95/245) and 31.5% (70/222) of Escherichia coli and 27.8% (68/245) and 35.1% (78/222) of Streptococcus agalactiae in infants younger than 28 days of age and 28 days to 3 months of age; the detection rates of Streptococcus pneumonia, Escherichia coli, and Streptococcus agalactiae were 34.3% (61/178), 14.0% (25/178) and 13.5% (24/178) in the 3 months of age to <1 year of age group; the dominant pathogens were Streptococcus pneumoniae and the detection rate were 67.9% (74/109) and 44.4% (16/36) in the 1-<5 years of age and 5-<15 years of age . There were 9.7% (19/195) strains of Escherichia coli producing ultra-broad-spectrum β-lactamases. The positive rates of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) culture and blood culture were 32.2% (515/1 598) and 25.0% (400/1 598), while 38.2% (126/330)and 25.3% (21/83) in CSF metagenomics next generation sequencing and Streptococcus pneumoniae antigen detection. There were 4.3% (32/790) cases of which CSF white blood cell counts were normal in etiology confirmed group. Among 1 610 children with ABM, main intracranial imaging complications were subdural effusion and (or) empyema in 349 cases (21.7%), hydrocephalus in 233 cases (14.5%), brain abscess in 178 cases (11.1%), and other cerebrovascular diseases, including encephalomalacia, cerebral infarction, and encephalatrophy, in 174 cases (10.8%). Among the 166 cases (10.3%) with unfavorable outcome, 32 cases (2.0%) died among whom 24 cases died before 1 year of age, and 37 cases (2.3%) had recurrence among whom 25 cases had recurrence within 3 weeks. The incidences of subdural effusion and (or) empyema, brain abscess and ependymitis in the etiology confirmed group were significantly higher than those in the clinically diagnosed group (26.2% (207/790) vs. 17.3% (142/820), 13.0% (103/790) vs. 9.1% (75/820), 4.6% (36/790) vs. 2.7% (22/820), χ2=18.71, 6.20, 4.07, all P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in the unfavorable outcomes, mortility, and recurrence between these 2 groups (all P>0.05). Conclusions: The onset age of ABM in children is usually within 1 year of age, especially <3 months. The common pathogens in infants <3 months of age are Escherichia coli and Streptococcus agalactiae, and the dominant pathogen in infant ≥3 months is Streptococcus pneumoniae. Subdural effusion and (or) empyema and hydrocephalus are common complications. ABM should not be excluded even if CSF white blood cell counts is within normal range. Standardized bacteriological examination should be paid more attention to increase the pathogenic detection rate. Non-culture CSF detection methods may facilitate the pathogenic diagnosis.

Abstract
Disorders of sex development (DSD) is a class of diseases characterized by discordant phenotypes of sex chromosome karyotypes, gonads and external genitalia. The etiology is complex and the clinical manifestations are varied. Understanding the clinical characteristics of patients with various types of DSD help make accurate etiological diagnosis and prepare individualized treatment plans according to the etiology (including sex assignment, endocrine hormone replacement, surgery and fertility protection, etc.). Due to the increased risk of DSD in the second pregnancy of the parents of DSD patients, early preventive measures such as pre-pregnancy genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis during pregnancy can effectively avoid or reduce the risk of DSD in their siblings.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the long term outcome of splenic hilar lymphadenectomy (SHL) for locally advanced Siewert type Ⅱ and Ⅲ adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction (AEG) with a tumor diameter ≥4 cm. Methods: A total of 489 locally advanced Siewert type Ⅱ and Ⅲ AEG patients with a tumor diameter ≥4 cm who underwent radical resection from January 2010 to April 2016 were included. There were 383 males and 106 females. There were 225 patients aged≥65 years and 264 patients aged <65 years. SHL was conducted in 270 patients(SHL group). Wilcoxon rank-sum test or χ2 test were conducted for inter-group comparison. Cox proportional hazard regression was used to analyze the long term outcome of SHL and the prognosis factors of overall survival. Kaplan-Meier curve was drawn finally. The results of survival analysis were verified by Log-rank test. Results: Followed-up to April 2021,the median follow-up time was 78.0 months (range: 74.0 to 85.0 months), the follow-up rate was 95.5%(467/489). The splenic hilar lymphnode metastasis rate of the SHL group was 12.6% (34/270). Younger patients (<65 years old), less complications, higher proportion of patients received adjuvant chemotherapy were demonstrated in the SHL group (χ2: 5.644 to 6.744, all P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that SHL was the independent prognosis factor of overall survival for patients with Siewert type Ⅱ and Ⅲ AEG and a tumor diameter≥4 cm (HR=0.68, 95%CI: 0.52 to 0.88, P=0.004) along with preoperative CA19-9, pathological T stage, pathological N stage, adjuvant chemotherapy and postoperative complication. Further subgroup analysis demonstrated that the SHL group had better 5-year overall survival than non-SHL group (62.4% vs. 39.2%, χ2=17.983, P=0.006) in Siewert type Ⅲ AEG rather than in Siewert type Ⅱ AEG(57.3% vs. 53.7%, χ2=3.031, P=0.805). Conclusion: In experienced center, splenic hilar lymphadenectomy can improve the prognosis of Siewert type Ⅲ AEG with a tumor diameter ≥4 cm.

Abstract
The first study of the angular distribution of μ^{+}μ^{-} pairs produced in the forward rapidity region via the Drell-Yan reaction pp→γ^{*}/Z+X→ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}+X is presented, using data collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.1 fb^{-1}. The coefficients of the five leading terms in the angular distribution are determined as a function of the dimuon transverse momentum and rapidity. The results are compared to various theoretical predictions of the Z-boson production mechanism and can also be used to probe transverse-momentum-dependent parton distributions within the proton.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the efficacy, safety and prognostic factors of percutaneous biliary stent combined with iodine-125 seed chain brachytherapy (radiotherapy) in the treatment of malignant obstructive jaundice. Methods: Data of 107 cases with malignant obstructive jaundice treated with percutaneous biliary stent implantation from January 2017 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 58 cases received biliary stent combined with iodne-125 seed chain brachytherapy (study group), and 49 cases received biliary stent implantation (control group). The changes of bilirubin, stent patency time, complications, overall survival (OS) and prognostic factors were analyzed in both groups. Results: The incidence of complications in the study group and the control group were 17.2% and 18.3% respectively, and the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.974). Serum total bilirubin levels were decreased significantly in both groups at one month after surgery (P<0.001). Postoperative stent patency time was significantly better in the study group (10.0±1.6 months) (95% CI: 8.2~12.5) than that in the control group (5.2±0.4 months) (95% CI: 4.1~6.0, P<0.001). The median OS was longer in the study group (11.2±1.8 months) (95% CI: 9.2~12.8) than that in the control group (8.0±1.1 months) (95% CI: 8.0~12.8, P<0.001). Multivariate analysis result showed that stent combined with brachytherapy (HR=0.08, 95% CI:0.04~0.15, P<0.001) and receiving further anti-tumor therapy after surgery (HR=0.27, 95% CI:0.15~0.49, P<0.001) were independent risk factors affecting the patency of biliary stents. Preoperative percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (HR=0.46, 95%CI:0.28~0.74, P=0.002), stent combined with brachytherapy (HR=0.23, 95%CI:0.14~0.39, P<0.001) and receiving further anti-tumor therapy after surgery (HR=0.37, 95%CI:0.22~0.61, P<0.001) were independent risk factors affecting OS. Conclusion: Percutaneous biliary stent combined with brachytherapy is safe and effective in the treatment of malignant obstructive jaundice, which can significantly prolong the patency time of biliary stent and the survival time of patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To propose a new method for mining complexes in dynamic protein network using spatiotemporal convolution neural network. METHODS The edge strength, node strength and edge existence probability are defined for modeling of the dynamic protein network. Based on the time series information and structure information on the graph, two convolution operators were designed using Hilbert-Huang transform, attention mechanism and residual connection technology to represent and learn the characteristics of the proteins in the network, and the dynamic protein network characteristic map was constructed. Finally, spectral clustering was used to identify the protein complexes. RESULTS The simulation results on several public biological datasets showed that the F value of the proposed algorithm exceeded 90% on DIP dataset and MIPS dataset. Compared with 4 other recognition algorithms (DPCMNE, GE-CFI, VGAE and NOCD), the proposed algorithm improved the recognition efficiency by 34.5%, 28.7%, 25.4% and 17.6%, respectively. CONCLUSION The application of deep learning technology can improve the efficiency in analysis of dynamic protein networks.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the preventive effect of pancreatic duct stent on acute pancreatitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. A retrospective analysis of the case data of patients who first underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for choledocholithiasis in the Beijing Friendship Hospital from January 2015 to December 2019 for 5 years. According to whether the pancreatic duct stent was indwelled during the operation, they were divided into pancreatic duct stent group (147 cases) and non-indwelling pancreatic duct stent group (192 cases). The incidence of acute pancreatitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography was compared between the two groups according to COTTON criteria. Independent sample t test, Pearson Chi-square test (χ2) and Fisher's exact test were used to compare groups' differences. There were 2 cases of acute pancreatitis in the pancreatic duct stent group, all of which improved after 48 hours. There were 22 cases of acute pancreatitis in the non-indwelling pancreatic duct stent group, of which 20 cases improved within 48 hours, and the other 2 cases had severe pancreatitis, which improved and discharged after 30 days of treatment. There was significant difference in the incidence of acute pancreatitis between the pancreatic duct stenting group (1.4%) and the group without placement of pancreatic duct stents (11.5%) (χ²=12.905,P<0.001). In conclusion, Pancreatic duct stent may be an effective method to prevent PEP.

Abstract
Quantum chromodynamics, the theory of the strong force, describes interactions of coloured quarks and gluons and the formation of hadronic matter. Conventional hadronic matter consists of baryons and mesons made of three quarks and quark-antiquark pairs, respectively. Particles with an alternative quark content are known as exotic states. Here a study is reported of an exotic narrow state in the D0D0π+ mass spectrum just below the D*+D0 mass threshold produced in proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The state is consistent with the ground isoscalar [Formula: see text] tetraquark with a quark content of [Formula: see text] and spin-parity quantum numbers JP = 1+. Study of the DD mass spectra disfavours interpretation of the resonance as the isovector state. The decay structure via intermediate off-shell D*+ mesons is consistent with the observed D0π+ mass distribution. To analyse the mass of the resonance and its coupling to the D*D system, a dedicated model is developed under the assumption of an isoscalar axial-vector [Formula: see text] state decaying to the D*D channel. Using this model, resonance parameters including the pole position, scattering length, effective range and compositeness are determined to reveal important information about the nature of the [Formula: see text] state. In addition, an unexpected dependence of the production rate on track multiplicity is observed.

[PMID: 35692116 DOI: 10.5603/fm.a2022.0054] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 04/03/2022] [Revised: 05/22/2022] [Accepted: 05/30/2022] [Indexed: 12/14/2022]
Abstract
BACKGROUND Mucosal immunoglobulin comprises mainly secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA) which mainly participates in the intestinal mucosal pathogenspecific immune response. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is another common immunoglobulin. Bactrian camels' gastrointestinal mucosal tissue has a special mucosal immune system. However, the distribution characteristics of these two antibody-secreting cells (ASCs) in Bactrian camel's large intestine mucosal immunity system remain largely unknown. This study was aimed to describe the distribution characteristics and density of SIgA and IgG ASCs in the mucosal immunity tissues of Bactrian camel large intestine. MATERIALS AND METHODS Tissue samples were collected from different parts of the large intestines of 10 healthy adult Chinese Alashan Bactrian camels. Immunohistochemistry technology was used to determine the distribution of SIgA and IgG ASCs in the large intestine samples and the image-Pro Plus 6.0 was employed to calculate their densities. RESULTS SIgA and IgG ASCs were distributed in lamina propria of the large intestine mucosa with some ASCs aggregating around the intestinal glands. The SIgA density increased from ileocecal orifice to the caecum and decreased from the colon to the rectum. The largest number of SIgA ASCs was observed in the caecum, followed by anterior colonic segments, ileocecal orifice, posterior colonic segments, and rectum, and the number of SIgA ASCs in the caecum was significantly larger than that in other four positions (p < 0.05). Similarly, the number of IgG ASCs was also the largest in the caecum, which was significantly higher than that in ileocecal orifice, anterior, posterior colonic segments, and rectum (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that SIgA and IgG ASCs are mainly distributed in intestinal mucosal immunity effector sites. These distribution characteristics provide evidence to support that SIgA and IgG supply effective protection and maintain homeostasis in the large intestinal mucosa.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of COVID-19 caused by 2019-nCoV Delta variant (B.1.617.2) in Gansu province, and provide evidence for the prevention and control of COVID-19. Methods: The information of COVID-19 cases, including demographic characteristics, epidemiological history, onset date, diagnosis date, exposure place, detection way and infection source, in Gansu from 17 October to 25 November, 2021 were collected. Software Excel 2016,SPSS 22 and ArcGIS 10.7 were used for data process and analysis. Results: As of November 25, 2021, a total of 146 COVID-19 cases had been reported in Gansu and the epidemic affected 10 counties (districts) in 5 cities. The epidemic of COVID-19 in Gansu had three stages: imported case stage,imported-local case stage and local case stage. The age of cases ranged from 1 to 87 years, and the cases in age group 18-59 years accounted for 59.59% (87/146). The male to female ratio of the cases was 1∶1.12 (69∶77). The cases were mainly people engaged in business services (17.12%, 25/146),retirees (15.75%, 23/146),students (13.70%, 20/146),the jobless and unemployed (12.33%, 18/146). In 3 epidemic stages, the cases aged 18-59 years accounted for 44.44%,54.41% and 70.00% respectively, showing an upward trend, and there were differences among different populations (trend χ2=23.24, P<0.001). Also, the incubation period of the cases tended to decrease, and severe cases accounted for 33.33% (6/18), 19.12% (13/68) and 3.33% (2/60) respectively, showing a downward trend. Community screening (25.34%, 37/146) and close contact screening were the main ways to detect cases, the cases detected by close contact screening in 3 epidemic stages accounted for 50.00% (9/18), 66.18% (45/68) and 86.67% (52/60) respectively. The epidemic had obvious case clustering in confined places, and the main exposure modes were living together (24.66%), working/studying together (11.64%), taking same transportation (9.59%) and dining together (9.59%). Conclusions: The COVID-19 epidemic in Gansu was caused by 2019-nCoV Delta variant from imported cases. The virus was mainly transmitted through travel, sharing transportation, dining together and home contact. The characteristics of COVID-19 epidemic in Gansu changed with time, the case's clinical symptoms were not obvious and the incubation period became shorter. The infections mainly occurred in group aged 18 years and above.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinicopathological features, immunophenotype and molecular genetic characteristics of malignant solitary fibrous tumor (MSFT). Methods: Seven cases of MSFT were collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2018 to December 2020. Immunohistochemistry, RNA-based NGS and DNA-based NGS were performed. Results Among the 7 patients, there were 5 males and 2 females with a median age of 53 years (37-69 years). Two tumors located at skull base, and one in the tentorium of cerebellum, parietal occipital region, occipital area, chest and buttock respectively. The maximum diameter of the tumor was 2.5-20.0 cm. Microscopically, typical hemangiopericomatoid structures were noted; the tumor was cellular, fusiform or oval, very pleomorphic, with necrosis and high mitotic figures (>4/10 HPF). In some cases, classical solitary fibrous tumor morphology and dedifferentiated region were observed. Immunohistochemically, the tumor was positive for CD34 (6/7), STAT6 (7/7), bcl-2 (7/7), but negative for S-100 (7/7); CKpan or EMA was positive to varying degrees; mutated p53 was noted (3/7); Ki-67 positive index was more than 10%. NAB2-STAT6 gene fusion was typically detected in all the 7 cases. In 4 cases, ZNF415-FGFR1, COPG1-MET, IPO11-LRRC70_ncRNA-PLAG1 and Clorf198-CD274 (PD-L1) gene fusions were also detected. NOTCH1 mutation was found in 7 cases and TP53 mutation in 4 cases. TERT promoter mutations were not detected in all the cases. Conclusions: MSFT is rare and needs to be differentiated from many other spindle cell tumors. Especially when tumors express epithelial markers, they are easily misdiagnosed as sarcomatoid carcinoma and synovial sarcoma, etc. Immunohistochemistry and molecular detection of NAB2-STAT6 gene fusion have important diagnostic values. NOTCH1 and TP53 mutations may be associated with the progression of MSFT. Some patients have FGFR1 gene fusion and MET gene fusion, which may be potential therapeutic targets.

Abstract
The first full angular analysis and an updated measurement of the decay-rate CP asymmetry of the D^{0}→π^{+}π^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-} and D^{0}→K^{+}K^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-} decays are reported. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. The full set of CP -averaged angular observables and their CP asymmetries are measured as a function of the dimuon invariant mass. The results are consistent with expectations from the standard model and with CP symmetry.

Abstract
Objective: To construct a recombinant lentiviral vector for mouse miR-204 overexpression, and to verify the targeted regulation of miR-204 and DVL3 in silica (SiO(2)) -induced mouse lung epithelial cells (MLE-12 cells) . Methods: In October 2019, the pre-miR-204 gene was amplified from the mouse genome by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. After sequencing, the amplified product was cloned into the pLenti-CMV-EGFP lentiviral vector. The positive clones were identified by PCR screening and sequencing. The miR-204 overexpressed lentiviral vector was transfected into 293T cells, and lentiviral packaging and titer determination were performed. The experiment was divided into SiO(2) control group, virus control group, and miR-204 virus group, and the expressions of miR-204 and DVL3 gene were detected by real-time PCR. Results: The miR-204 lentiviral expression vector Lv-miR-204-5p was constructed and identified correctly by PCR and sequencing, and a virus dilution with a titer of 9.57×10(8) IU/ml was obtained. The results of real-time PCR showed that the expression of miR-204 in MLE-12 cells of the miR-204 virus group was higher than that of SiO(2) control group and virus control group, and the expression of DVL3 gene was lower than that of SiO(2) control group and virus control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05) . Conclusion: Overexpression of miR-204 by lentiviral vector may inhibit the expression of DVL3 gene in silica-induced mouse lung epithelial cells.

Abstract
Tests of lepton universality in B^{0}→K_{S}^{0}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} and B^{+}→K^{*+}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} decays where ℓ is either an electron or a muon are presented. The differential branching fractions of B^{0}→K_{S}^{0}e^{+}e^{-} and B^{+}→K^{*+}e^{+}e^{-} decays are measured in intervals of the dilepton invariant mass squared. The measurements are performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1} . The results are consistent with the standard model and previous tests of lepton universality in related decay modes. The first observation of B^{0}→K_{S}^{0}e^{+}e^{-} and B^{+}→K^{*+}e^{+}e^{-} decays is reported.

Observation of the Decay Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:191803. Abstract
The first observation of the semileptonic b-baryon decay Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ}, with a significance of 6.1σ, is reported using a data sample corresponding to 3 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity, collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV at the LHC. The τ^{-} lepton is reconstructed in the hadronic decay to three charged pions. The ratio K=B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})/B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}π^{-}π^{+}π^{-}) is measured to be 2.46±0.27±0.40, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The branching fraction B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})=(1.50±0.16±0.25±0.23)% is obtained, where the third uncertainty is from the external branching fraction of the normalization channel Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}π^{-}π^{+}π^{-}. The ratio of semileptonic branching fractions R(Λ_{c}^{+})≡B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})/B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}μ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ}) is derived to be 0.242±0.026±0.040±0.059, where the external branching fraction uncertainty from the channel Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}μ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} contributes to the last term. This result is in agreement with the standard model prediction.

Abstract
Objectives: To analyze the current development status of gastric cancer (GC) randomized controlled trials (RCT) between 2000 and 2019, and to review the basic characteristics of published RCT. Methods: ClinicalTrials.gov was searched for phase 3 or 4 RCT conducted between January 2000 and December 2019 with the keyword "gastric cancer", and the development trend of different types of RCT during different time periods was described. Basic features of registered RCT such as intervention, study area, single-center or multicenter, sample size, and funding were presented. PubMed and Scopus databases were searched to judge the publication status of studies completed until June 2016. The adequacy of the report was estimated by the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) checklist. Design flaws were evaluated by Cochrane tool and/or whether a systematic literature review was cited. The data was analyzed by χ2 test or Fisher exact test. Results: There were 262 RCT including in the present study. The number of GC-RCT registered on ClinicalTrials.gov had been on the rise from 1 case in 2000 to 30 cases in 2015. The proportion of RCT associated with targeted therapy or immunotherapy increased from 0 during 2000-2004 to 37.1% (36/97) during2015-2019. The RCT registered in Asia was 191 cases, while that in non-Asia region was 71 cases. The proportion of multi-center RCT from non-Asia was higher than that from Asia (70.4% (50/71) vs. 50.3% (96/191), χ²=8.527, P=0.003). The proportion of RCT published was 59.1% (81/137). Among the published RCT, 65 (80.2%) studies were reported adequately, but 63 (77.8%) studies had avoidable design limitations. Conclusions: Targeted therapy and immunotherapy have become research hotspots in the treatment of GC. At present, there are inadequate multicenter RCT in Asia, and the publication rate of RCT is low. A considerable number of published RCT are reported inadequately and have avoidable design flaws.

Abstract
Objective: To establish a neural network model for predicting lymph node metastasis in patients with stage II-III gastric cancer. Methods: Case inclusion criteria: (1) gastric adenocarcinoma diagnosed by pathology as stage II-III (the 8th edition of AJCC staging); (2) no distant metastasis of liver, lung and abdominal cavity in preoperative chest film, abdominal ultrasound and upper abdominal CT; (3) undergoing R0 resection. Case exclusion criteria: (1) receiving preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy; (2) incomplete clinical data; (3) gastric stump cancer.Clinicopathological data of 1231 patients with stage II-III gastric cancer who underwent radical surgery at the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital from January 2010 to August 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 1035 patients with lymph node metastasis were confirmed after operation, and 196 patients had no lymph node metastasis. According to the postoperative pathologic staging. 416 patients (33.8%) were stage Ⅱ and 815 patients (66.2%) were stage III. Patients were randomly divided into training group (861/1231, 69.9%) and validation group (370/1231, 30.1%) to establish an artificial neural network model (N+-ANN) for the prediction of lymph node metastasis. Firstly, the Logistic univariate analysis method was used to retrospectively analyze the case samples of the training group, screen the variables affecting lymph node metastasis, determine the variable items of the input point of the artificial neural network, and then the multi-layer perceptron (MLP) to train N+-ANN. The input layer of N+-ANN was composed of the variables screened by Logistic univariate analysis. Artificial intelligence analyzed the status of lymph node metastasis according to the input data and compared it with the real value. The accuracy of the model was evaluated by drawing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and obtaining the area under the curve (AUC). The ability of N+-ANN was evaluated by sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive values, negative predictive values, and AUC values. Results: There were no significant differences in baseline data between the training group and validation group (all P>0.05). Univariate analysis of the training group showed that preoperative platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), preoperative systemic immune inflammation index (SII), tumor size, clinical N (cN) stage were closely related to postoperative lymph node metastasis. The N+-ANN was constructed based on the above variables as the input layer variables. In the training group, the accuracy of N+-ANN for predicting postoperative lymph node metastasis was 88.4% (761/861), the sensitivity was 98.9% (717/725), the specificity was 32.4% (44/136), the positive predictive value was 88.6% (717/809), the negative predictive value was 84.6% (44/52), and the AUC value was 0.748 (95%CI: 0.717-0.776). In the validation group, N+-ANN had a prediction accuracy of 88.4% (327/370) with a sensitivity of 99.7% (309/310), specificity of 30.0% (18/60), positive predictive value of 88.0% (309/351), negative predictive value of 94.7% (18/19), and an AUC of 0.717 (95%CI:0.668-0.763). According to the individualized lymph node metastasis probability output by N+-ANN, the cut-off values of 0-50%, >50%-75%, >75%-90% and >90%-100% were applied and patients were divided into N0 group, N1 group, N2 group and N3 group. The overall prediction accuracy of N+-ANN for pN staging in the training group and the validation group was 53.7% and 54.1% respectively, while the overall prediction accuracy of cN staging for pN staging in the training group and the validation group was 30.1% and 33.2% respectively, indicating that N+-ANN had a better prediction than cN stage. Conclusions: The N+-ANN constructed in this study can accurately predict postoperative lymph node metastasis in patients with stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ gastric cancer. The N+-ANN based on individualized lymph node metastasis probability has better accurate prediction for pN staging as compared to cN staging.

Observation of Two New Excited Ξ_{b}^{0} States Decaying to Λ_{b}^{0}K^{-}π^{+}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 128:162001. Abstract
Two narrow resonant states are observed in the Λ_{b}^{0}K^{-}π^{+} mass spectrum using a data sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb^{-1}. The minimal quark content of the Λ_{b}^{0}K^{-}π^{+} system indicates that these are excited Ξ_{b}^{0} baryons. The masses of the Ξ_{b}(6327)^{0} and Ξ_{b}(6333)^{0} states are m[Ξ_{b}(6327)^{0}]=6327.28_{-0.21}^{+0.23}±0.12±0.24 and m[Ξ_{b}(6333)^{0}]=6332.69_{-0.18}^{+0.17}±0.03±0.22 MeV, respectively, with a mass splitting of Δm=5.41_{-0.27}^{+0.26}±0.12 MeV, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the Λ_{b}^{0} mass measurement. The measured natural widths of these states are consistent with zero, with upper limits of Γ[Ξ_{b}(6327)^{0}]<2.20(2.56) and Γ[Ξ_{b}(6333)^{0}]<1.60(1.92) MeV at a 90% (95%) credibility level. The significance of the two-peak hypothesis is larger than nine (five) Gaussian standard deviations compared to the no-peak (one-peak) hypothesis. The masses, widths, and resonant structure of the new states are in good agreement with the expectations for a doublet of 1D Ξ_{b}^{0} resonances.
