Abstract
Amorphous nanomaterials have drawn extensive attention owing to their unique features, while amorphization on noble metal nanomaterials still remains formidably challenging. Herein, we demonstrate a universal strategy to synthesize amorphous Pd-based nanomaterials from unary to quinary metals through the introduction of phosphorus (P). The amorphous Pd-based nanoparticles (NPs) exhibit generally promoted oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity and durability compared with their crystalline counterparts. Significantly, the quinary P-PdCuNiInSn NPs, benefiting from the amorphous structure and multimetallic component effect, exhibit mass activities as high as 1.04 A mgPd-1 and negligible activity decays of 1.8% among the stability tests, which are much better than values for original Pd NPs (0.134 A mgPd-1 and 28.4%). Experimental and theoretical analyses collectively reveal that the synergy of P-induced amorphization and the expansion of metallic components can considerably lower the free energy changes in the rate-determined step, thereby explaining the positive correlation with the catalytic activity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Prior animal and epidemiological studies suggest that per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exposure may be associated with reduced birth weight. However, results from prior studies evaluated a relatively small set of PFAS. OBJECTIVES Determine associations of gestational PFAS concentrations in maternal serum samples banked for 60 years with birth outcomes. METHODS We used data from 97 pregnant women from Boston and Providence that enrolled in the Collaborative Perinatal Project (CPP) study (1960-1966). We quantified concentrations of 27 PFAS in maternal serum in pregnancy and measured infant weight, height and ponderal index at birth. Covariate-adjusted associations between 11 PFAS concentrations (>75% detection limits) and birth outcomes were estimated using linear regression methods. RESULTS Median concentrations of PFOA, PFNA, PFHxS, and PFOS were 6.189, 0.330, 14.432, and 38.170 ng/mL, respectively. We found that elevated PFAS concentrations during pregnancy were significantly associated with lower birth weight and ponderal index at birth, but no significant associations were found with birth length. Specifically, infants born to women with PFAS concentrations ≥ median levels had significantly lower birth weight (PFOS: β = -0.323, P = 0.006; PFHxS: β = -0.292, P = 0.015; PFOA: β = -0.233, P = 0.03; PFHpS: β = -0.239, P = 0.023; PFNA: β = -0.239, P = 0.017). Similarly, women with PFAS concentrations ≥ median levels had significantly lower ponderal index (PFHxS: β = -0.168, P = 0.020; PFHxA: β = -0.148, P = 0.018). CONCLUSIONS Using data from this US-based cohort study, we found that 1) maternal PFAS levels from the 1960s exceeded values in contemporaneous populations and 2) that gestational concentrations of certain PFAS were associated with lower birth weight and infant ponderal index. Additional studies with larger sample size are needed to further examine the associations of gestational exposure to individual PFAS and their mixtures with adverse birth outcomes.

Abstract
Background Delirium significantly contributes to both mortality and morbidity among hospitalized older adults. Furthermore, delirium leads to escalated healthcare expenditures, extended hospital stays, and enduring cognitive deterioration, all of which are acknowledged detrimental outcomes. Nonetheless, the current strategies for predicting and managing delirium remain constrained. Our aim was to employ Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the potential causal relationship between metabolites and delirium, as well as to identify potential therapeutic targets. Methods We identified 129 distinct blood metabolites from three genome-wide association studies (GWASs) conducted on the metabolome, involving a total of 147,827 participants of European descent. Genetic information pertaining to delirium was sourced from the ninth iteration of the Finngen Biobank, encompassing 359,699 individuals of Finnish ancestry. We conducted MR analyses to evaluate the connections between blood metabolites and delirium. Additionally, we extended our analysis to encompass the entire phenome using MR, aiming to uncover potential on-target consequences resulting from metabolite interventions. Results In our investigation, we discovered three metabolites serving as causal mediators in the context of delirium: clinical low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) (odds ratio [OR]: 1.47, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.25-1.73, p = 3.92 x 10-6), sphingomyelin (OR: 1.47, 95% CI: 1.25-1.74, p = 5.97 x 10-6), and X-11593-O-methylascorbate (OR: 0.21, 95% CI: 0.10-0.43, p = 1.86 x 10-5). Furthermore, utilizing phenome-wide MR analysis, we discerned that clinical LDL-C, sphingomyelin, and O-methylascorbate not only mediate delirium susceptibility but also impact the risk of diverse ailments. Limitations (1) Limited representation of the complete blood metabolome, (2) reliance on the PheCode system based on hospital diagnoses may underrepresent conditions with infrequent hospital admissions, and (3) limited to European ancestry. Conclusion The genetic prediction of heightened O-methylascorbate levels seems to correspond to a diminished risk of delirium, in contrast to the association of elevated clinical LDL-C and sphingomyelin levels with an amplified risk. A comprehensive analysis of side-effect profiles has been undertaken to facilitate the prioritization of drug targets. Notably, O-methylascorbate emerges as a potentially auspicious target for mitigating and treating delirium, offering the advantage of lacking predicted adverse side effects.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Scarce research has reported the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic distal gastrectomy in elderly patients. This retrospective study aimed to compare the outcomes of laparoscopic and open distal gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer in elderly patients. METHODS A total of 303 elderly patients who underwent distal gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer from June 2017 to June 2021 were enrolled. Variables used to calculate propensity score matching included sex, age, body mass index, American Society of Anesthesiologists, history of diabetes, and history of hypertension. The statistical significance of continuous variables was tested using an independent sample t test. chi-square or Fisher's exact tests were used for categorical variables. Kaplan-Meier curve and log-rank test were used for the evaluation of 3-year overall survival and recurrence-free survival. RESULTS After performing 1:1 propensity score matching, 248 patients were included for analysis (laparoscopic = 124, open = 124). Compared with the open group, the laparoscopic group showed significant advantages in estimated blood loss (P < 0.001), pain scale on the first postoperative day (P = 0.002), time to first flatus (P = 0.004), time to first liquid diet (P = 0.005), hospital stays (P < 0.001), and total complications (P = 0.011), but devoted much more operation time (P < 0.001). No statistical difference was observed between the two groups in 3-year recurrence-free survival (P = 0.315) or overall survival (P = 0.159). CONCLUSIONS Our analysis demonstrated that laparoscopic surgery had the advantages of less intraoperative blood loss, fewer postoperative complications, and faster postoperative recovery in distal gastrectomy for advanced gastric, indicating that laparoscopic distal gastrectomy is safe and effective for treating elderly patients with distal gastric cancer.

Abstract
Given the inevitable human exposure owing to its increasing production and utilization, the comprehensive safety evaluation of silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) has sparked concerns. Substantial evidence indicated liver damage by inhaled SiNPs. Notwithstanding, few reports focused on the persistence or reversibility of hepatic injuries, and the intricate molecular mechanisms involved remain limited. Here, rats are intratracheally instilled with SiNPs in two regimens (a 3-month exposure and a subsequent 6-week recovery after terminating SiNPs administration) to assess the hepatic effects. Nontargeted lipidomics revealed alterations in lipid metabolites as a contributor to the hepatic response and recovery effects of SiNPs. In line with the functional analysis of differential lipid metabolites, SiNPs activated oxidative stress, and induced lipid peroxidation and lipid deposition in the liver, as evidenced by the elevated hepatic levels of ROS, MDA, TC, and TG. Of note, these indicators showed great improvements after a 6-week recovery, even returning to the control levels. According to the correlation, ROC curve, and SEM analysis, 11 lipids identified as potential regulatory molecules for ameliorating liver injury by SiNPs. Collectively, the work first revealed the reversibility of SiNP-elicited hepatotoxicity from the perspective of lipidomics and offered valuable laboratory evidence and therapeutic strategy to facilitate nanosafety.

Abstract
Bacteriolytic myxobacteria are versatile micropredators and are proposed as potential biocontrol agents against diverse bacterial and fungal pathogens. Isolation of new myxobacteria species and exploration of effective predatory products are necessary for successful biocontrol of pathogens. In this study, a myxobacterium strain CY-1 was isolated from a soil sample of a pig farm using the Escherichia coli baiting method. Based on the morphological observation, physiological test, 16S rRNA gene sequence, and genomic data, strain CY-1 was identified as a novel species of the myxobacterial genus Archangium, for which the name Archangium lipolyticum sp. nov. was proposed. Subsequent predation tests indicated that the strain efficiently lysed drug-resistant pathogens, with a higher predatory activity against E. coli 64 than Staphylococcus aureus GDMCC 1.771 (MRSA). The lysis of extracellular proteins against ester-bond-containing substrates (tributyrin, tween 80, egg-yolk, and autoclaved drug-resistant pathogens) inspired the mining of secreted predatory products with lipolytic activity. Furthermore, a lipase ArEstA was identified from the genome of CY-1, and the heterologously expressed and purified enzyme showed bacteriolytic activity against Gram-negative bacteria E. coli 64 but not against Gram-positive MRSA, possibly due to different accessibility of enzyme to lipid substrates in different preys. Our research not only provided a novel myxobacterium species and a candidate enzyme for the development of new biocontrol agents but also reported an experimental basis for further study on different mechanisms of secreted predatory products in myxobacterial killing and degrading of Gram-negative and Gram-positive preys.

Abstract
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are used to treat infectious and immune diseases and disorders; however, its mechanism(s) remain incompletely defined. Here we find that bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) lacking Pinch1/2 proteins display dramatically reduced ability to suppress lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury and dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced inflammatory bowel disease in mice. Prx1-Cre; Pinch1f/f; Pinch2-/- transgenic mice have severe defects in both immune and hematopoietic functions, resulting in premature death, which can be restored by intravenous injection of wild-type BMSCs. Single cell sequencing analyses reveal dramatic alterations in subpopulations of the BMSCs in Pinch mutant mice. Pinch loss in Prx1+ cells blocks differentiation and maturation of hematopoietic cells in the bone marrow and increases production of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-1β in monocytes. We find that Pinch is critical for expression of Cxcl12 in BMSCs; reduced production of Cxcl12 protein from Pinch-deficient BMSCs reduces expression of the Mbl2 complement in hepatocytes, thus impairing the innate immunity and thereby contributing to infection and death. Administration of recombinant Mbl2 protein restores the lethality induced by Pinch loss in mice. Collectively, we demonstrate that the novel Pinch-Cxcl12-Mbl2 signaling pathway promotes the interactions between bone and liver to modulate immunity and hematopoiesis and may provide a useful therapeutic target for immune and infectious diseases.

Abstract
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) has become a vital regulator in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis (OP). This study aimed to investigate the role of lncRNA DLEU2 in the development of proliferation and apoptosis of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs). High-throughput sequencing in bone tissues from 3 pairs of healthy donors and OP patients was used to search for differential lncRNAs. The expression of DLEU2 was also verified in bone tissues. The hBMSCs were transfected with DLEU2 ASO. Cell viability was detected suing MTT. Cell proliferation was determined using colony formation and EdU assays. Cell cycle and apoptosis was detected using flow cytometry. RIP, RNA pulldown, and Co-IP assays were carried out to verify the interaction between protein and protein/RNA. The binding sites between GFI1 and the promoter of DLEU2 was verified using ChIP and luciferase assays. DLEU2 expression was down-regulated in OP patients. Knockdown of DLEU2 expression significantly inhibited proliferation and promoted apoptosis of hBMSCs. Moreover, DLEU2 could interact with EZH2 to induce the activation of GFI1. Additionally, GFI1 transcriptionally activated DLEU2. Taken together, DLEU2/EZH2/GFI1 axis suppressed proliferation and enhanced hBMSC apoptosis. This may provide novel strategy for OP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It has been reported that the human family with sequence similarity 198, member B (Fam198b) play an important role in the occurrence and development of various cancers. Nevertheless, its function in gastric cancer is not completely clear. Hereby, we investigated the function and prognostic value of Fam198b in gastric cancer and further validated the results in gastric cancer through a series of in vitro experiments. METHODS We used R software and online bioinformatics analysis tools-GEPIA2, TIMER2, Kaplan-Meier plotter, cBioPortal, TISIDB COSMIC, and STRING to study the characteristics and functions of Fam198b in GC, such as aberrant expression, prognostic value, genomic alterations, immune microenvironment, anticancer drug sensitivity, and related signaling pathways. In addition, in vitro experiments such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), cell function experiments, and signaling pathway experiments were performed to validate the key conclusions. RESULT Fam198b is obviously highly expressed in gastric cancer, and its expression is intensively correlated with tumor prognosis. The etiology of abnormal Fam198b expression was superficially investigated and validated by associating genomic alterations and the immune microenvironment. Furthermore, Fam198b is intensively correlated with the sensitivity of multiple antitumor drugs. It was demonstrated by functional enrichment analysis that Fam198b was linked to myogenesis, angiogenesis, epithelial mesenchymal transition and cytokine binding. It was observed in vitro experiments that knockdown Fam198b could significantly inhibit tumor cell proliferation and migration. These results were reversed when Fam198b was overexpressed. It was validated by signaling pathway experiments that Fam198b promoted gastric cancer progression by up-regulating the PI3K/AKT/BCL-2 signaling pathway. CONCLUSION As a novel biomarker to predict GC prognosis and tumor progression, Fam198b is a promising therapeutic target to reverse tumor progression.

Abstract
Local electric field induced by the lightning-rod effect attracts great attention for regulating the local microenvironment and electronic properties of active sites. Nevertheless, local electric-field-assisted applications are mainly limited to metals with strong surface plasmonic resonance properties (e.g., Au, Ag, and Cu). Herein, we fabricate RuCu snow-like nanosheets (SNSs) with high-curvature nanotips for enhancing the hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Theoretical simulations show that RuCu SNSs can induce a strong local electric field around the sharp nanotips, which favors the accumulation of OH- for HOR and H+ for HER. Cu incorporation can modulate the binding strength of OH* and H*, leading to significantly enhanced HOR and HER performance. Impressively, the mass activity of RuCu SNSs for alkaline HOR is 31.3 times higher than that of RuCu nanocrystals without sharp tips. Besides, the required overpotential for reaching 10 mA cm-2 during HER over RuCu SNSs is 14.0 mV.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE While joint immobilization is a useful repair method for intra-articular ligament injury and periarticular fracture, prolonged joint immobilization can cause multiple complications. A better understanding how joint immobilization and remobilization impact joint function and homeostasis will help clinicians develop novel strategies to reduce complications. DESIGN We first determined the effects of long-term immobilization on joint pain and osteophyte formation in patients after an extraarticular fracture or ligament injury. We then developed a mouse model of joint immobilization and harvested the knee joint samples at 2, 4, and 8 weeks. We further determined the effects of remobilization on recovery of the osteoarthritis (OA) lesions induced by immobilization in mice. RESULTS We found that the long-term (6 weeks) joint immobilization caused significant joint pain and osteophytes in patients. In mice, 2-week immobilization already induced moderate sensory innervation and increased pain sensitivity and infiltration in synovium without inducing marked osteophyte formation and cartilage loss. Long-term immobilization (4 and 8 weeks) induced more severe sensory innervation and inflammatory infiltration in synovium, massive osteophyte formation on both sides of the femoral condyle, and the edge of the tibial plateau and significant loss of the articular cartilage in mice. Remobilization, which ameliorates normal joint load and activity, restored to certain extent some of the OA lesions and joint function in mice. CONCLUSIONS Joint immobilization caused multiple OA-like lesions in both mice and humans. Joint immobilization induced progressive sensory innervation, synovitis, osteophyte formation, and cartilage loss in mice, which can be partially ameliorated by remobilization.

Abstract
To explore the allergen sensitization status of patients with respiratory allergic diseases in Shanxi Province, and to provide a basis for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic diseases. It is a cross-sectional study, a total of 1 680 patients with allergic rhinitis and/or asthma diagnosed at the Department of Allergic Reaction of Shanxi Bethune Hospital from July 2021 to June 2023 who underwent allergen sIgE testing and/or skin prick test were retrospectively enrolled.There were 772 males and 908 females.The age range was 3 to 88 years. The median age was 35 years.There were 108 cases in the child group (≤12 years old), 102 cases in the adolescent group (13-17 years old), 819 cases in the youth group (18-40 years old), 498 cases in the middle-aged group (41-65 years old), and 153 cases in the elderly group (>65 years old). There were 333 cases in the allergic rhinitis group, 827 cases in the allergic asthma group, and 520 cases in the allergic rhinitis with asthma group. There were 1 254 urban patients and 426 rural patients.There were 253 cases in the northern Shanxi region, 1 195 cases in the central Shanxi region, and 232 cases in the southern Shanxi region. Statistical analyses were performed using the χ 2 test or Fisher's exact probability method to compare the differences in allergen sIgE positivity rates by sex, age, disease, living environment, and geography. The results showed that 1 027 patients (61.1%) were positive for at least one allergen sIgE, with Artemisia having the highest rate of positivity (603/1 680, 35.9%), followed by ragweed (302/1 680, 18.0%) and dust mite combinations (245/1 680, 14.6%). The number of individuals with single-allergen sIgE positivity was 357 (357/1 027, 34.8%), with the highest number of single-allergen sIgE positive results associated with Artemisia (114/357, 31.9%). The number of multiple-allergen sIgE positive results was 670 cases (670/1 027, 65.2%), with the highest number of patients having 2 allergen sIgE positive results (243/670, 36.3%). The overall positivity rate for allergen sIgE was significantly higher among males than among females (65.7% vs. 57.3%, χ2=12.405, P<0.001). Overall positivity for inhalant allergen sIgE was higher in the child and adolescent groups (88.0% vs. 88.2% vs. 59.8% vs. 40.2% vs. 19.0%, χ2=223.372, P<0.001), and food allergen sIgE positivity was highest in the child group (54.6% vs. 36.3% vs. 26.0% vs. 18.9% vs. 21.6%,χ2=66.383,P<0.001). The sIgE positivity rate of inhalant allergens was significantly higher in the allergic rhinitis group and the allergic rhinitis with asthma group than in the allergic asthma group, except for cockroaches and molds (P<0.05). The overall positive rate of allergen sIgE was significantly higher among urban patients than among rural patients (66.2% vs. 46.2%, χ2=53.230, P<0.001). The difference in the overall positive rate of allergen sIgE among patients from different regions was not statistically significant (56.1% vs. 62.0% vs. 62.1%, χ2=3.140, P=0.208). The sIgE positivity of dust mite combinations was significantly higher in the central Shanxi region and the southern Shanxi region than in the northern Shanxi region (15.5% vs. 18.1% vs. 7.1%,χ2=14.411, P=0.001). In conclusion, artemisia was the most important sensitizer for respiratory allergic diseases in Shanxi Province. The types of allergens and positivity rates were different for different sexes, ages, diseases, living environments, and regions. Therefore, patients with allergic diseases should be tested for allergens to help with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic diseases.

Abstract
A novel Gram-stain-negative strain, designated S37H4T, was isolated from an intertidal surface sediment sample collected from Zhanjiang City, Guangdong province, south PR China. Cells of the strain were aerobic, non-flagellated, long rod-shaped and motile by gliding. S37H4T could grow at 4-40 °C, pH 7.0-8.5 and in 2.0-15.0 % NaCl, with optimal growth at 25-30 °C, pH 7.5 and 9.0 % NaCl, respectively. S37H4T was capable of nitrite removal under high-salt conditions, and there were three denitrification genes, nirK, norB and nosZ, in its genome. The results of phylogenetic analyses based on the 16S rRNA gene and genome sequences indicated that S37H4T represented a member of the genus Marivirga and formed a subclade with Marivirga lumbricoides JLT2000T. S37H4T showed the highest 16S rRNA sequence similarity to M. lumbricoides JLT2000T (98.3 %) and less than 97.0 % similarity with other type strains of species of the genus Marivirga. The average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) values between S37H4T and the reference type strains of species of the genus Marivirga were 70.7-74.3 % and 18.2-19.2 %, respectively. The major fatty acids of S37H4T were iso-C15 : 0, iso-C15 : 1G, iso-C17 : 0 3-OH and summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω6c and/or C16 : 1ω7c). The major respiratory quinone of this novel strain was MK-7, and the predominant polar lipids were identified as phosphatidylethanolamine, an unidentified aminolipid, an unidentified phospholipid and three unidentified lipids. The results of analyses of phylogenetic, genomic, physiological and biochemical characteristics indicated that S37H4T represented a novel species of the genus Marivirga, for which the name Marivirga aurantiaca sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is S37H4T (= GDMCC 1.1866T = KACC 21922T).

Abstract
Instruction Citrus is a globally important fruit tree whose microbiome plays a vital role in its growth, adaptability, and resistance to stress. Methods With the high throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA genes, this study focused on analyzing the bacterial community, especially in the leaf midribs, of healthy and Huanglongbing (HLB)-infected plants. Results We firstly identified the shared bacterial taxa in the midribs of both healthy and HLB-infected plants, and then analyzed their functions. Results showed that the shared bacterial taxa in midribs belonged to 62 genera, with approximately 1/3 of which modified in the infected samples. Furthermore, 366 metabolic pathways, 5851 proteins, and 1833 enzymes in the shared taxa were predicted. Among these, three metabolic pathways and one protein showed significant importance in HLB infection. With the random forest method, six genera were identified to be significantly important for HLB infection. Notably, four of these genera were also among the significantly different shared taxa. Further functional characterization of these four genera revealed that Pseudomonas and Erwinia likely contributed to plant defense against HLB, while Streptomyces might have implications for plant defense against HLB or the pathogenicity of Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas). Disccusion Overall, our study highlights that the functions of the shared taxa in leaf midribs are distinguished between healthy and HLB-infected plants, and these microbiome-based findings can contribute to the management and protection of citrus crops against CLas.

Abstract
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) can establish symbiotic associations with the roots of most terrestrial plants, thereby improving the tolerance of the host plants to biotic and abiotic stresses. Although AMF cannot synthesize lipids de novo, they can obtain lipids from the root cells for their growth and development. A recent study reveals that AMF can directly take up myristate (C14:0 lipid) from the environment and produce a large amount of hyphae in asymbiotic status; however, the effect of environmental lipids on AM symbiosis is still unclear. In this study, we inoculated tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) with AMF in an in vitro dual culture system and a sand culture system, and then applied exogenous myristate to the substrate, in order to explore the effect of exogenous lipids on the mycorrhizal colonization of AMF. We investigated the hyphae growth, development, and colonization of AMF, and examined the gene expression involved in phosphate transport, lipid biosynthesis, and transport. Results indicate that exogenous lipids significantly stimulated the growth and branching of hyphae, and significantly increased the number of hyphopodia and mycorrhizal colonization of AMF, with arbuscular abundance and intraradical spores or vesicles being the most promoted. In contrast, exogenous myristate decreased the growth range and host tropism of the germ tubes, and largely inhibited the exchange of nutrition between symbionts. As a result, exogenous myristate did not affect the plant growth. This study suggests that lipids promote mycorrhizal colonization by enhancing the growth and development of AMF hyphae and increasing their contact opportunities with plant roots. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report that shows that lipids promote the colonization of AMF. Our study highlights the importance of better understanding the roles of environmental lipids in the establishment and maintenance of AM symbiosis and, thus, in agricultural production.

Abstract
The effects of air pollution and meteorology on asthma is less studied in North China Plain. In the last decade, air quality in this region is markedly mitigated. This study compared the short-term effects of air pollutants on daily asthma outpatient visits (AOV) within different sex and age groups from 2014 to 2016 and 2017-2019 in Tianjin, with the application of distributed lag nonlinear model. Moreover, relative humidity (RH) and temperature as well as the synergistic impact with air pollutants were assessed. Air pollutants-associated risk with linear (different reference values were used) and non-linear assumptions were compared. In 2014-2016, PM10 and PM2.5 exhibited a larger impact on AOV, with the corresponding cumulative excess risks (ER) for every 10 μg/m3 increase at 1.04 % (95%CI:0.67-1.40 %, similarly hereafter) and 0.79 % (0.35-1.23 %), as well as increased to 43 % (26-63 %) and 20 % (10-31 %) at severe pollution. In 2017-2019, NO2 and MDA8 O3 exhibited a larger impact on AOV, with a cumulative ER for every 10 μg/m3 increase at 1.0 (0.63-1.4 %) and 0.36 % (0.15-0.57 %), with corresponding values of 7.9 % (4.8-11 %) and 5.6 % (2.3-9.0 %), at severe pollution. SO2 associated risk was only significant from 2014 to 2016. Cold effect, including extremely low temperature exposure and sharp temperature drop could generate a pronounced increase in AOV at 9.6 % (3.8-16 %) and 24 % (9.1-41 %), respectively. Moderate low temperature combined with air pollutants can enhance AOV during winter. Higher temperature in spring and autumn could trigger asthma by increasing pollen levels. Low RH resulted in AOV increase by 4.6 % (2.4-6.9), while higher RH generated AOV increase by 3.4 % (1.6-5.3). Females, children, and older adults tended to have a higher risk for air pollution, non-optimum temperature, and RH. As air pollution-associated risks on AOV tends to be weaker due to air quality improvement in recent years, the impact of extreme meteorological condition amidst climate change on asthma visits warrants further attention.

Abstract
PURPOSE Scarce research has reported the comparison between robotic and laparoscopic surgery in mid-low rectal cancer. Therefore, this meta-analysis is aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of the two surgical approaches. METHODS A comprehensive search of the databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and Web of Science) was performed for studies comparing robotic and laparoscopic surgery. The outcomes of interest acquired from eight articles included three aspects: intraoperative conditions, postoperative status of patients, and complications. All data (robotic = 1350 patients, laparoscopic = 1330 patients) enrolled were analyzed using Rev Man 5.4. RESULTS Compared to the laparoscopic group, the robotic group indicated a noticeable superiority in estimated blood loss (P < 0.0001), number of lymph nodes dissected (P = 0.004), time to first flatus (P = 0.001), time to first fluid diet (P = 0.001), hospital stay (P < 0.0001), conversion (P = 0.009), and urinary retention (P = 0.0006), but devoted much more operation time (P = 0.0004). CONCLUSION Robotic surgery was associated with superiority over laparoscopic surgery in increasing surgical safety, accelerating postoperative recovery, and reducing complications, which suggested that robotic surgery could be a safe and effective method for treating mid-low rectal cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The feasibility and effectiveness of selecting an intracorporeal or extracorporeal technique in left hemicolectomy remain poorly understood. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the difference between the two approaches regarding intraoperative and postoperative outcomes. METHODS A thorough exploration of online databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, and Web of Science) was executed to identify randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and case control studies. The outcomes contained four aspects: intraoperative outcomes, postoperative complications, postoperative patient conditions, and postoperative outcomes. All of these data were analyzed using RevMan 5.4. Seven retrospective control trials (intracorporeal, 396 patients; extracorporeal, 426 patients) were evaluated. RESULTS Compared to the extracorporeal group, the intracorporeal group demonstrated superiority in incision length (P = 0.005), overall complications (P = 0.01), time to first flatus (P < 0.001), time to first stool (P = 0.005), time to first diet (P < 0.001) and hospital stay duration (P = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS The intracorporeal technique is associated with superiority over the extracorporeal technique in reducing postoperative complications, promoting postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal function, and reducing hospital stay duration.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a multifactorial immuno-inflammatory skin disease, characterized by keratinocyte hyperproliferation and aberrant immune activation. Although the pathogenesis is complex, the interactions among inflammation, Th17-mediated immune activation, and keratinocyte hyperplasia are considered to play a crucial role in the occurrence and development of psoriasis. Therefore, pharmacological interventions on the "inflammation-Th17-keratinocyte" vicious cycle may be a potential strategy for psoriasis treatment. In this study, JPH203 (a specific inhibitor of LAT1, which engulfs leucine to activate mTOR signaling)-loaded, ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation-induced, keratinocyte-derived extracellular vesicles (J@EV) were prepared for psoriasis therapy. The EVs led to increased interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) content due to UVB irradiation, therefore not only acting as a carrier for JPH203 but also functioning through inhibiting the IL-1-mediated inflammation cascade. J@EV effectively restrained the proliferation of inflamed keratinocytes via suppressing mTOR-signaling and NF-κB pathway in vitro. In an imiquimod-induced psoriatic model, J@EV significantly ameliorated the related symptoms as well as suppressed the over-activated immune reaction, evidenced by the decreased keratinocyte hyperplasia, Th17 expansion, and IL17 release. This study shows that J@EV exerts therapeutic efficacy for psoriasis by suppressing LAT1-mTOR involved keratinocyte hyperproliferation and Th17 expansion, as well as inhibiting IL-1-NF-κB mediated inflammation, representing a novel and promising strategy for psoriasis therapy.

Abstract
Scarce research has been performed to assess the safety and efficacy of anastomosis technique on robotic-assisted sigmoidectomy. This study was designed to evaluate the difference between intracorporeal and extracorporeal techniques during robotic-assisted sigmoidectomy. Clinical data of 193 cases who received robotic-assisted sigmoidectomy were retrospectively collected and analyzed. Only 116 cases were available for analysis (intracorporeal group = 58 and extracorporeal group = 58) after propensity score matching. Independent sample t test was conducted to evaluate the continuous variables. Moreover, the statistical significance of categorical variables was tested using Chi-square or Fisher's exact tests. Statistical analysis showed that the intracorporeal group demonstrated greater superiorities in pain scale on the first and second postoperative day (P < 0.05), time of catheter indwelling (P = 0.009), and length of hospital stay (P = 0.019). Additionally, the intracorporeal technique contributed to fewer complications including urinary retention (P = 0.027) and hernia (P = 0.037) than the extracorporeal group. Our analysis revealed that intracorporeal technique was safe and feasible due to the shorter time of catheter indwelling and length of hospital stay and fewer post-operation complications.

Abstract
As a key contender in the field of photovoltaics, third-generation thin-film perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have gained significant research and investment interest due to their superior power conversion efficiency (PCE) and great potential for large-scale production. For commercialization consideration, low-cost and scalable fabrication is of primary importance for PSCs, and the development of the applicable film-forming techniques that meet the above requirements plays a key role. Currently, large-area perovskite films are mainly produced by printing techniques, such as slot-die coating, inkjet printing, blade coating, and screen-printing. Among these techniques, screen printing offers a high degree of functional layer compatibility, pattern design flexibility, and large-scale ability, showing great promise. In this work, the advanced progress on applying screen-printing technology in fabricating PSCs from technique fundamentals to practical applications is presented. The fundamentals of screen-printing technique are introduced and the state-of-the-art studies on screen-printing different functional layers in PSCs and the control strategies to realize fully screen-printed PSCs are summarized. Moreover, the current challenges and opportunities faced by screen-printed perovskite devices are discussed. This work highlights the critical significance of high throughput screen-printing technology in accelerating the commercialization course of PSCs products.

Abstract
Degenerative disc disease (DDD) is one of the most common skeletal disorders affecting aged populations. DDD is the leading cause of low back/neck pain, resulting in disability and huge socioeconomic burdens. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying DDD initiation and progression remain poorly understood. Pinch1 and Pinch2 are LIM-domain-containing proteins with crucial functions in mediating multiple fundamental biological processes, such as focal adhesion, cytoskeletal organization, cell proliferation, migration, and survival. In this study, we found that Pinch1 and Pinch2 were both highly expressed in healthy intervertebral discs (IVDs) and dramatically downregulated in degenerative IVDs in mice. Deleting Pinch1 in aggrecan-expressing cells and Pinch2 globally (AggrecanCreERT2; Pinch1fl/fl; Pinch2-/-) caused striking spontaneous DDD-like lesions in lumbar IVDs in mice. Pinch loss inhibited cell proliferation and promoted extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation and apoptosis in lumbar IVDs. Pinch loss markedly enhanced the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, especially TNFα, in lumbar IVDs and exacerbated instability-induced DDD defects in mice. Pharmacological inhibition of TNFα signaling mitigated the DDD-like lesions caused by Pinch loss. In human degenerative NP samples, reduced expression of Pinch proteins was correlated with severe DDD progression and a markedly upregulated expression of TNFα. Collectively, we demonstrate the crucial role of Pinch proteins in maintaining IVD homeostasis and define a potential therapeutic target for DDD.

Abstract
Soil amino acids (AAs) are the most active components of soil N, which can be mineralized or absorbed by bacteria as N and C sources. We hypothesized that exogenous AAs could regulate the bacterial community and affect soil N cycling, and the effect sizes could vary depending on individual AAs. Here, we applied feather (keratin)-based compost rich in AAs to Poncirus trifoliata (L.) to evaluate the regulation of bacterial community by AAs; furthermore, we applied six individual AAs to test their effects. The compost significantly increased soil hydrolysable AA content, ammonia monooxygenase gene abundance, and plant growth and changed bacterial community structure. Redundancy analysis revealed that the effects of AAs on the bacterial community composition were greater than those of soil chemical properties, and phenylalanine (Phe) was the most effective among thirteen individual AAs. When applied individually, Phe caused the greatest increase in N cycling-related enzyme activity and plant growth and most significantly altered the bacterial community structure among the six exogenous AAs. Notably, Phe significantly increased the relative abundances of Burkholderia-Caballeronia-Paraburkholderia, Azospirillum, Cupriavidus, and Achromobacter, whose abundances were significantly positively correlated with plant biomass, and significantly reduced the relative abundances of Arachidicoccus, Pseudopedobacter, Sphingobacterium, and Paenibacillus, whose abundances were significantly negatively correlated with plant biomass. We demonstrate that soil AAs strongly shape the bacterial community. Particularly, Phe enhances N cycling and plant growth by increasing the potentially beneficial bacterial taxa and inhibiting the potentially harmful bacterial taxa, which needs further validation.

Abstract
Four Gram-staining-negative, aerobic, yellow-pigmented and rod-shaped bacteria, named strains BD1B2-1T, NT2B1T, YF14B1 and DM2B3-1, were isolated from four rhizosphere soil samples of banana in China. Comparison of the 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that all these strains were most closely related to an invalidly published species, 'Rhodocytophaga rosea' 172606-1, with similarities ranging from 87.7 to 88.0%. According to the phylogenomic analysis, the four strains were clustered in an independent lineage and closely related to the genus Rhodocytophaga. The genomic sizes of these strains were approximately 9.49-9.77 Mbp with the DNA G + C contents of 38.8-39.0 mol%. They all contained C16:1 ω5c, iso-C15:0 and iso-C17:0 3-OH as the major fatty acids and menaquinone 7 as the only respiratory quinone. They all had phosphatidylethanolamine as the major polar lipids. Based on phenotypic and phylogenomic characteristics, the four strains should represent two novel species within a novel genus, for which the names Xanthocytophaga agilis gen. nov., sp. nov. (BD1B2-1T = GDMCC 1.2890T = JCM 35374T) and Xanthocytophaga flavus sp. nov. (NT2B1T = GDMCC 1.2889T = JCM 35375T) are proposed; the former is assigned as the type species of the novel genus Xanthocytophaga gen. nov. In addition, based on the phenotypic and phylogenomic data, we proposed to reclassify the existing genus Rhodocytophaga in the family Cytophagaceae into a novel family Rhodocytophagaceae fam. nov. The novel family consists of the type genus Rhodocytophaga and the novel genus Xanthocytophaga.

Abstract
Introduction Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae is an important respiratory pathogen, which can cause porcine contagious pleuropneumonia and lead to great economic losses to worldwide swine industry. High potassium is an adverse environment for bacteria, which is not conducive to providing turgor pressure for cell growth and division. Two-component system CpxAR is an important regulatory system of bacteria in response to environmental changes, which is involved in a variety of biological activities, such as antibiotic resistance, periplasmic protein folding, peptidoglycan metabolism and so on. Methods However, little is known about the role of CpxAR in high potassium stress in A. pleuropneumoniae. Here, we showed that CpxAR is critical for cell division of A. pleuropneumoniae under high potassium (K+) stress. Results qRT-PCR analysis found that CpxAR positively regulated the cell division genes ftsEX. In addition, we also demonstrated that CpxR-P could directly bind the promoter region of the cell division gene ftsE by EMSA. Discussion In conclusion, our results described a mechanism where CpxAR adjusts A. pleuropneumoniae survival under high-K+ stress by upregulating the expression of the cell division proteins FtsE and FtsX. These findings are the first to directly demonstrate CpxAR-mediated high-K+ tolerance, and to investigate the detailed molecular mechanism.
