Constraints on Cosmic Strings Using Data from the Third Advanced LIGO-Virgo Observing Run. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 126:241102. Abstract
We search for gravitational-wave signals produced by cosmic strings in the Advanced LIGO and Virgo full O3 dataset. Search results are presented for gravitational waves produced by cosmic string loop features such as cusps, kinks, and, for the first time, kink-kink collisions. A template-based search for short-duration transient signals does not yield a detection. We also use the stochastic gravitational-wave background energy density upper limits derived from the O3 data to constrain the cosmic string tension Gμ as a function of the number of kinks, or the number of cusps, for two cosmic string loop distribution models. Additionally, we develop and test a third model that interpolates between these two models. Our results improve upon the previous LIGO-Virgo constraints on Gμ by 1 to 2 orders of magnitude depending on the model that is tested. In particular, for the one-loop distribution model, we set the most competitive constraints to date: Gμ≲4×10^{-15}. In the case of cosmic strings formed at the end of inflation in the context of grand unified theories, these results challenge simple inflationary models.

POS0975 CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF NONRADIOGRAPHIC AXIAL SPONDYLOARTHRITIS IN ASIAN COUNTRIES COMPARED TO OTHER REGIONS: RESULTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CROSS-SECTIONAL ASAS-COMOSPA STUDY. Ann Rheum Dis 2021. [DOI: 10.1136/annrheumdis-2021-eular.1942] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/04/2022]
Abstract
Background:Clinical characteristics of nonradiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-ax-SpA) are highly variable across patients, and may potentially vary across patient populations, particularly due to differing distributions of human leukocyte antigens (HLA) and other genetic factors. The majority of nr-ax-SpA studies have been conducted in Europe, the United States, and small studies are reported from Asia [1].Objectives:To delineate clinical characteristics of patients with nr-ax-SpA in Asian countries in comparison to other areas of the world. Methods:Utilizing the ASAS-COMOSPA data, an international cross-sectional observational study of SpA patients, we analyzed information on demographics, disease characteristics, comorbidities, and risk factors. Patients were classified by region: Asia (China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan), and non-Asian countries (Europe, Americas, and Africa); patient characteristics, including diagnosis and treatment, were compared. Results:Among 3984 SpA patients included in the study, 1094 were from centers in Asian countries, and 2890 from other regions. 112/780 (14.4%) of axial SpA patients in Asian countries were nr-ax-SpA, substantially less than in other countries (486/1997, 24.3%). Nr-ax-SpA patients in Asian countries compared to nr-ax-SpA in other countries were more likely male (75.9 vs 47.1%), have onset (22.8 vs 27.8 years) and diagnosis (27.2 vs 34.5 years) at younger age, and experience less diagnostic delay (1.88 vs 2.92 years) (Table 1). Nr-ax-SpA patients in Asian countries have higher prevalence of positive HLA-B27 (90.6% vs 61.9%) and fewer peripheral signs such as arthritis, enthesitis, or dactylitis (53.6% vs 66.3%) but have similar rate of extra-articular manifestations (psoriasis, IBD, or uveitis) and co-morbidities. Disease activity, functional impairment, and inflammation on MRI were less in nr-ax-SpA patients in Asian countries. NSAIDs response was higher and use of methotrexate and b-DMARDs were lower among nr-ax-SpA in Asian countries. Conclusion:Among axial SpA patients, substantially lower frequency of nr-ax-SpA was observed in Asian countries compared to other regions of the world. Nr-ax-SpA patients in Asian countries were predominantly male, and had younger disease onset with higher HLA-B27 positivity rate and less peripheral signs, and better response to NSAIDs. These results offer an opportunity to improve both early diagnosis and treatment of nr-ax-SpA patients in Asian countries.Table 1.Characteristics of nonradiographic axial SpA in Asia versus non-Asian regionsVariablesAsianon-Asian regionsp valueN112486Age at disease diagnosis, yrs27.2 [21.1, 39.6]34.5 [27.7, 41.7]<0.001Diagnostic delay, yrs1.88 [0.27, 5.56]2.92 [0.59, 9.58]0.011Male (%)85 (75.9)229 (47.1)<0.001Sacroiliitis on MRI among tested (%)49 (67.1)341 (82.2)0.005HLA B27 positivity among measured (%)96 (90.6)273 (61.9)<0.001Inflammatory Back Pain (%)107 (95.5)478 (98.4)0.076Arthritis, enthesitis, or dactylitis (%)60 (53.6)322 (66.3)0.016Psoriasis (%)12 (10.7)82 (16.9)0.142Uveitis (%)20 (17.9)81 (16.7)0.870Inflammatory bowel disease (%)5 (4.5)27 (5.6)0.817Elevated CRP (%)37 (33.0)213 (43.8)0.048Physician global assessment (0-10)2.0 [1.0, 5.0]2.0 [1.0, 4.0]0.741Patient global assessment (0-10)3.0 [1.0, 6.0]4.0 [2.0, 6.0]0.012ASDAS-CRP1.40 [0.95, 2.08]1.97 [1.21, 2.78]<0.001BASFI0.8 [0.05, 2.65]2.9 [0.8, 5.6]<0.001Good response to NSAIDs (%)80 (71.4)272 (56.0)0.004Methotrexate use (%)18 (16.1)134 (27.6)0.016Biological DMARDs use (%)27 (24.1)191 (39.3)0.004References:[1]López-Medina C, Ramiro S, van der Heijde D, et al. Abstract
Water plays a crucial role in the formation and destruction of biomolecular structures. The mechanism for destroying biomolecular structures was thought to be an active breaking of hydrogen bonds by water molecules. However, using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations, in which an amyloid-β amyloid fibril was destroyed via infrared free-electron laser (IR-FEL) irradiation, we discovered a new mechanism, in which water molecules disrupt protein aggregates. The intermolecular hydrogen bonds formed by C═O and N-H in the fibril are broken at each pulse of laser irradiation. These bonds spontaneously re-form after the irradiation in many cases. However, when a water molecule happens to enter the gap between C═O and N-H, it inhibits the re-formation of the hydrogen bonds. Such sites become defects in the regularly aligned hydrogen bonds, from which all hydrogen bonds in the intermolecular β-sheet are broken as the fraying spreads. This role of water molecules is entirely different from other known mechanisms. This new mechanism can explain the recent experiments showing that the amyloid fibrils are not destroyed by laser irradiation under dry conditions. Additionally, we found that helix structures form more after the amyloid disruption; this is because the resonance frequency is different in a helix structure. Our findings provide a theoretical basis for the application of IR-FEL to the future treatment of amyloidosis.

Abstract
We report the first evidence for X(3872) production in two-photon interactions by tagging either the electron or the positron in the final state, exploring the highly virtual photon region. The search is performed in e^{+}e^{-}→e^{+}e^{-}J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}, using 825 fb^{-1} of data collected by the Belle detector operated at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider. We observe three X(3872) candidates, where the expected background is 0.11±0.10 events, with a significance of 3.2σ. We obtain an estimated value for Γ[over ˜]_{γγ}B(X(3872)→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}) assuming the Q^{2} dependence predicted by a cc[over ¯] meson model, where -Q^{2} is the invariant mass squared of the virtual photon. No X(3915)→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-} candidates are found.

Abstract
A mid-infrared free-electron laser (MIR-FEL) is a synchrotron-radiation-based femto- to pico-second pulse laser. It has unique characteristics such as variable wavelengths in the infrared region and an intense pulse energy. So far, MIR-FELs have been utilized to perform multi-photon absorption reactions against various gas molecules and protein aggregates in physical chemistry and biomedical fields. However, the applicability of MIR-FELs for the structural analysis of solid materials is not well recognized in the analytical field. In the current study, an MIR-FEL is applied for the first time to analyse the internal structure of biological materials by using fossilized inks from cephalopods as the model sample. Two kinds of fossilized inks that were collected from different strata were irradiated at the dry state by tuning the oscillation wavelengths of the MIR-FEL to the phosphoryl stretching mode of hydroxyapatite (9.6 µm) and to the carbonyl stretching mode of melanin (5.8 µm), and the subsequent structural changes in those materials were observed by using infrared microscopy and far-infrared spectroscopy. The structural variation of these biological fossils is discussed based on the infrared-absorption spectral changes that were enhanced by the MIR-FEL irradiation, and the potential use of MIR-FELs for the structural evaluation of biomaterials is suggested.

Abstract
Abstract
Objective
This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of cardiac computed tomography (CT) for antegrade dissection re-entry (ADR) technique in chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Background
Although PCI of CTO is a rapidly evolving field, procedure success rate remains suboptimal. Recently, ADR with Stingray device for CTO-PCI has also evolved to one of the pillar technique of the hybrid algorithm. Although the success rate of the device could be improved, it also remains not always high especially as first crossing strategy.
Methods
Forty eight patients with total occlusion suitable for revascularization evaluated by baseline coronary angiography and cardiac CT were enrolled in this study from April 2017 to April 2019 from 30 enrolled centers. The primary observation was procedural success. Furthermore, all puncture point with Stingray were analyzed by cardiac CT. In each point, 1) plaques on the isolated myocardial side at distal puncture site (+1 point), 2) any plaques excluded above definition at distal puncture site (+2 points), 3) calcification on both 1 and 2 at distal puncture site (+1 point) were analyzed and calculated the score (Score 0–3) (Figure 1).
Results
Overall procedure success rate was 95.8% (46/48) and antegrade success rate was 91.3% (42/46). Sixteen cases were succeeded with single guidewire escalation and 32 cases were attempted ADR with Stingray system. Within them, 25 cases were succeeded and 7 cases were observed puncture failure. And 3cases were succeeded with IVUS guide and 2 cases were with retrograde appTechnical success rate with stingray was 78.1% (25/32). Cardiac CT was analyzed 60 puncture sites in 32 cases which were attempted ADR with stingray system (1.88 sites/case). CT score at ADR success point was significantly smaller compare to that at ADR failure point (0.68±1.09 vs 1.77±1.09, p<0.0001).
Conclusions
Pre procedure Cardiac CT and CT score might be useful for ADR technique in CTO PCI not only for case selection but also for puncture site selection.

Abstract
On using the far-infrared radiation system, whether the irradiation effect is thermal or non-thermal is controversial. We irradiated amyloid peptides that are causal factors for amyloidosis by using a submillimeter wave from 420 GHz gyrotron. Fluorescence reagent assay, optical and electron microscopies, and synchrotron-radiation infrared microscopy showed that the irradiation increased the fibrous conformation of peptides at room temperature for 30 min. The temperature increase on the sample was only below 5 K, and a simple heating up to 318 K hardly induced the fibril formation. Therefore, the amyloid aggregation was driven by the far-infrared radiation with little thermal effect.

Abstract
Lithium is mainly excreted into urine, and a large fraction of lithium filtered through glomeruli is reabsorbed in the proximal tubule. However, the mechanisms responsible for lithium reabsorption remain unclear. We previously reported that the reabsorption of lithium was biphasic in rats, and that foscarnet inhibited lithium reabsorption with a high affinity type. We herein evaluated the effects of acetazolamide and foscarnet on the renal excretion of lithium in rats treated with lithium chloride at 2 doses. In rats intravenously injected with a bolus of 25 mg/kg lithium chloride, acetazolamide facilitated the urinary excretion of lithium, and increased the fractional excretion of lithium from 0.446 to 0.953, near the theoretically maximum value. At a dose of 2.5 mg/kg lithium chloride, the fractional excretion of lithium was 0.241 in control rats, 0.420 in rats administered acetazolamide, and 0.976 in rats administered acetazolamide and foscarnet. These results showed the potent inhibition of lithium reabsorption by acetazolamide and foscarnet in rats. And, it was exhibited that the effects of acetazolamide on lithium reabsorption differed with the dosages of lithium administered.

Abstract
Neurodegenerative diseases are usually characterized by plaques made of well-ordered aggregates of distinct amyloid proteins. Dissociating these very stable amyloid plaques is a critical clinical issue. In this study, we present a joint mid-infrared free electron laser experiment/nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulation to understand the dissociation process of a representative example GNNQQNY fibril. By tuning the laser frequency to the amide I band of the fibril, the resonance takes place and dissociation is occurred. With the calculated and observed wide-angle X-ray scattering profiles and secondary structures before and after laser irradiation being identical, we can propose a dissociation mechanism with high confidence from our simulations. We find that dissociation starts in the core of the fibrils by fragmenting the intermolecular hydrogen bonds and separating the peptides and then propagates to the fibril extremities leading to the formation of unstructured expanded oligomers. We suggest that this should be a generic mechanism of the laser-induced dissociation of amyloid fibrils.

Abstract
Nano-particulate air pollution threatens developing brains and is epidemiologically related to neurodegenerative diseases involving deposition of misfolded proteins. However, the mechanism underlying developmental neurotoxicity by nanoparticles remains unknown. Here, we report that maternal exposure to low doses of carbon black nanoparticle (CB-NP) induces endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress associated with accumulation of misfolded proteins. Notably, offspring specifically showed high induction of ER stress in perivascular macrophages and reactive astrocytes only around brain blood vessels, along with accumulation of β-sheet-rich proteins regarded as misfolded proteins. Our results suggest that maternal CB-NP exposure induced ER stress in PVMs and reactive astrocytes around blood vessels in the brain of offspring in mice. The induction of ER stress accompanied by the perivascular accumulation of misfolded proteins is likely to be associated with perivascular abnormalities and neurodegeneration, and development of neurodegenerative diseases related to particulate air pollution.

Abstract
The experimental results on the ratios of branching fractions R(D)=B(B[over ¯]→Dτ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})/B(B[over ¯]→Dℓ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{ℓ}) and R(D^{*})=B(B[over ¯]→D^{*}τ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{τ})/B(B[over ¯]→D^{*}ℓ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{ℓ}), where ℓ denotes an electron or a muon, show a long-standing discrepancy with the standard model predictions, and might hint at a violation of lepton flavor universality. We report a new simultaneous measurement of R(D) and R(D^{*}), based on a data sample containing 772×10^{6} BB[over ¯] events recorded at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider. In this analysis the tag-side B meson is reconstructed in a semileptonic decay mode and the signal-side τ is reconstructed in a purely leptonic decay. The measured values are R(D)=0.307±0.037±0.016 and R(D^{*})=0.283±0.018±0.014, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are in agreement with the standard model predictions within 0.2, 1.1, and 0.8 standard deviations for R(D), R(D^{*}), and their combination, respectively. This work constitutes the most precise measurements of R(D) and R(D^{*}) performed to date as well as the first result for R(D) based on a semileptonic tagging method.

Search for an Invisibly Decaying Z^{'} Boson at Belle II in e^{+}e^{-}→μ^{+}μ^{-}(e^{±}μ^{∓}) Plus Missing Energy Final States. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2020; 124:141801. Abstract
Theories beyond the standard model often predict the existence of an additional neutral boson, the Z^{'}. Using data collected by the Belle II experiment during 2018 at the SuperKEKB collider, we perform the first searches for the invisible decay of a Z^{'} in the process e^{+}e^{-}→μ^{+}μ^{-}Z^{'} and of a lepton-flavor-violating Z^{'} in e^{+}e^{-}→e^{±}μ^{∓}Z^{'}. We do not find any excess of events and set 90% credibility level upper limits on the cross sections of these processes. We translate the former, in the framework of an L_{μ}-L_{τ} theory, into upper limits on the Z^{'} coupling constant at the level of 5×10^{-2}-1 for M_{Z^{'}}≤6 GeV/c^{2}.

Stacking Fault Energy Analyses of Additively Manufactured Stainless Steel 316L and CrCoNi Medium Entropy Alloy Using In Situ Neutron Diffraction. Sci Rep 2020; 10:1350. Abstract
Stacking fault energies (SFE) were determined in additively manufactured (AM) stainless steel (SS 316 L) and equiatomic CrCoNi medium-entropy alloys. AM specimens were fabricated via directed energy deposition and tensile loaded at room temperature. In situ neutron diffraction was performed to obtain a number of faulting-embedded diffraction peaks simultaneously from a set of (hkl) grains during deformation. The peak profiles diffracted from imperfect crystal structures were analyzed to correlate stacking fault probabilities and mean-square lattice strains to the SFE. The result shows that averaged SFEs are 32.8 mJ/m2 for the AM SS 316 L and 15.1 mJ/m2 for the AM CrCoNi alloys. Meanwhile, during deformation, the SFE varies from 46 to 21 mJ/m2 (AM SS 316 L) and 24 to 11 mJ/m2 (AM CrCoNi) from initial to stabilized stages, respectively. The transient SFEs are attributed to the deformation activity changes from dislocation slip to twinning as straining. The twinning deformation substructure and atomic stacking faults were confirmed by electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The significant variance of the SFE suggests the critical twinning stress as 830 ± 25 MPa for the AM SS 316 L and 790 ± 40 MPa for AM CrCoNi, respectively.

Prospects for observing and localizing gravitational-wave transients with Advanced LIGO, Advanced Virgo and KAGRA. LIVING REVIEWS IN RELATIVITY 2020; 23:3. Abstract
We present our current best estimate of the plausible observing scenarios for the Advanced LIGO, Advanced Virgo and KAGRA gravitational-wave detectors over the next several years, with the intention of providing information to facilitate planning for multi-messenger astronomy with gravitational waves. We estimate the sensitivity of the network to transient gravitational-wave signals for the third (O3), fourth (O4) and fifth observing (O5) runs, including the planned upgrades of the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors. We study the capability of the network to determine the sky location of the source for gravitational-wave signals from the inspiral of binary systems of compact objects, that is binary neutron star, neutron star-black hole, and binary black hole systems. The ability to localize the sources is given as a sky-area probability, luminosity distance, and comoving volume. The median sky localization area (90% credible region) is expected to be a few hundreds of square degrees for all types of binary systems during O3 with the Advanced LIGO and Virgo (HLV) network. The median sky localization area will improve to a few tens of square degrees during O4 with the Advanced LIGO, Virgo, and KAGRA (HLVK) network. During O3, the median localization volume (90% credible region) is expected to be on the order of 10 5 , 10 6 , 10 7 Mpc 3 for binary neutron star, neutron star-black hole, and binary black hole systems, respectively. The localization volume in O4 is expected to be about a factor two smaller than in O3. We predict a detection count of 1 - 1 + 12 ( 10 - 10 + 52 ) for binary neutron star mergers, of 0 - 0 + 19 ( 1 - 1 + 91 ) for neutron star-black hole mergers, and 17 - 11 + 22 ( 79 - 44 + 89 ) for binary black hole mergers in a one-calendar-year observing run of the HLV network during O3 (HLVK network during O4). We evaluate sensitivity and localization expectations for unmodeled signal searches, including the search for intermediate mass black hole binary mergers.

Abstract
Lithium promotes the phosphorylation of glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK3β), and this reaction protects against acute kidney injury mediated by renal apoptosis. Lithium is considered to be reabsorbed by sodium-phosphate cotransporters and sodium-proton exchanger NHE3. This study evaluated the relation between the lithium reabsorption and the phosphorylation of GSK3β, by using acetazolamide, an NHE3 inhibitor. In rats infused with lithium chloride, the plasma concentration of lithium was 4.77 mEq/l, and the renal clearance of lithium and its fractional excretion were calculated to be 2.29 ml/min/kg and 0.405, respectively. Coadministration of acetazolamide decreased creatinine clearance and the reabsorption rate of lithium, increased the fractional excretion of lithium, and did not affect its plasma concentration. Western blot analysis exhibited the facilitation of GSK3β phosphorylation in the kidney cortex by lithium infusion, and acetazolamide inhibited the lithium-induced phosphorylation of GSK3β. Lithium did not affect GSK3β phosphorylation in the liver and did not affect Akt in the kidney cortex and liver. These data show that lithium reabsorption contributes to GSK3β phosphorylation in the kidney cortex.

Abstract
Abstract
BACKGROUND
Positron emission tomography (PET) is important in noninvasive diagnostic imaging of gliomas. There are many PET studies on glioma diagnosis based on the 2007 World Health Organization (WHO) classification; however, there are no studies on glioma diagnosis using the new classification (the 2016 WHO classification). Here we investigated the relationship between PET imaging using 11C-methionine (MET), 11C-choline (CHO), and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) and wildtype isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) (IDH-wt)/mutant IDH (IDH-mut) in astrocytic and oligodendroglial tumors according to the 2016 WHO classification.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
In total, 105 patients with newly diagnosed cerebral gliomas (six diffuse astrocytomas [DAs] with IDH-wt, six DAs with IDH-mut, seven anaplastic astrocytomas [AAs] with IDH-wt, 24 AAs with IDH-mut, 26 glioblastomas [GBMs] with IDH-wt, five GBMs with IDH-mut, 19 oligodendrogliomas [ODs], and 12 anaplastic oligodendrogliomas [AOs]) were included. All OD and AO patients had both IDH-mut and 1p/19q codeletion. The maximum standardized uptake values (SUVs) of the tumor/normal cortex mean SUV ratios (T/N ratios) for MET, CHO, and FDG were calculated; the mean T/N ratios of DA, AA, and GBM with IDH-wt/IDH-mut were compared. The diagnostic accuracy for distinguishing gliomas with IDH-wt from those with IDH-mut was assessed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis of the mean T/N ratios for the three PET tracers.
RESULTS
There were significant differences in the mean T/N ratios for all three PET tracers between the IDH-wt and IDH-mut groups including all histological classifications (p<0.001). Among the 27 gliomas with mean T/N ratios higher than the cutoff values for all three PET tracers, 23 (85.2%) were classified into the IDH-wt group using ROC analysis. In DA, there were no significant differences in the T/N ratios for MET, CHO, and FDG between the IDH-wt and IDH-mut groups. In AA, the mean T/N ratios of all three PET tracers in the IDH-wt group were significantly higher than those in the IDH-mut group (p<0.001). In GBM, the mean T/N ratio in the IDH-wt group was significantly higher than that of the IDH-mut group for both MET (p=0.034) and CHO (p=0.01). However, there was no significant difference in the ratio for FDG.
CONCLUSIONS
PET imaging using MET, CHO, and FDG was confirmed to be informative for preoperatively differentiating gliomas according to the 2016 WHO classification, particularly for differentiating IDH-wt and IDH-mut tumors.

Abstract
Fibrous peptides such as amyloid fibrils have various roles in biological system, e.g., as causal factor of serious amyloidosis in human and as functional regulator of cell formation in bacteria and eukaryotes. In addition, the fiber-type format is promising as biocompatible scaffold. Therefore, the dissolution method of peptide fibril is potentially useful at many scenes in medical and material fields: as reductive way of pathogenic amyloid, as modification technique of cell structure, and as fabrication tool of biomaterials. However, the fibril structure is generally difficult to be dissociated due to its rigid stacked conformation. Here, we propose a physical engineering technology using terahertz free electron laser (FEL) at far-infrared wavelengths from 70 to 80 μm. Infrared microscopy analysis of the irradiated fibril of calcitonin peptide as a model showed that β-sheet was decreased, and α-helix, turn, and others were increased, compared to those of the fibril before the FEL irradiation. Interestingly, the dissociative effect by the far-infrared laser was remarkable than that by the mid-infrared laser tuned to 6.1 μm that corresponds to amide I. In addition, simple heating at 363 K deformed the fibril state but increased the amount of β-sheet, which was contrast with the action by the FEL, and scanning-electron microscopy and Congo-red staining revealed that the fibril was collapsed power-dependently within a range from 25 to 900 mJ energies supplied with the FEL at 74 μm. It can be considered that irradiation of intense terahertz wave can dissociate fibrous conformation of peptide with little influence of thermal effect.

Abstract
We present the first measurements of absolute branching fractions of Ξ_{c}^{0} decays into Ξ^{-}π^{+}, ΛK^{-}π^{+}, and pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+} final states. The measurements are made using a dataset comprising (772±11)×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^{+}e^{-} collider. We first measure the absolute branching fraction for B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0} using a missing-mass technique; the result is B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})=(9.51±2.10±0.88)×10^{-4}. We subsequently measure the product branching fractions B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}), B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→ΛK^{-}π^{+}), and B(B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0})B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+}) with improved precision. Dividing these product branching fractions by the result for B^{-}→Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-}Ξ_{c}^{0} yields the following branching fractions: B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+})=(1.80±0.50±0.14)%, B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→ΛK^{-}π^{+})=(1.17±0.37±0.09)%, and B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→pK^{-}K^{-}π^{+})=(0.58±0.23±0.05)%. For the above branching fractions, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. Our result for B(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}) can be combined with Ξ_{c}^{0} branching fractions measured relative to Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+} to yield other absolute Ξ_{c}^{0} branching fractions.

Abstract
We report the first observation of the spontaneous polarization of Λ and Λ[over ¯] hyperons transverse to the production plane in e^{+}e^{-} annihilation, which is attributed to the effect arising from a polarizing fragmentation function. For inclusive Λ/Λ[over ¯] production, we also report results with subtracted feed-down contributions from Σ^{0} and charm. This measurement uses a dataset of 800.4 fb^{-1} collected by the Belle experiment at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. We observe a significant polarization that rises with the fractional energy carried by the Λ/Λ[over ¯] hyperon.
