Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical phenotype and gene variation conditions in neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis caused by citrin deficiency (NICCD), so as to provide a basis for genetic counseling and clinical diagnosis and treatment of the family. Methods: 11 cases of neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis who visited the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University between February 2019 and March 2021 were selected as the study subjects. High-throughput sequencing technology was used to detect the gene variation condition in 11 neonatal patients and 100 normal control neonates. The suspicious loci and family members were verified by Sanger sequencing and QPCR technology. Results: All 11 children with NICCD had different degrees of jaundice and liver damage symptoms, combined with coagulation dysfunction and anemia (n = 7), cardiac malformation (n = 2), elevated myocardial enzymes (n = 4), hyperlipidemia (n = 1), hyperkalemia (n = 1), persistent diarrhea (n = 3), developmental delay (n = 1). A total of 10 different types of SLC25A13 gene mutations were detected in 11 cases, including three frameshift mutations, two splicing changes, two missense mutations, one intron insertion, one nonsense mutation, and one heterozygous deletion. After reviewing literature and databases, c.1878delG(p.I627Sfs*73) and exon11 deletion were novel mutations that had not been reported at home or abroad. Conclusion: The clinical features of NICCD are non-specific, and genetic testing aids in the early and accurate diagnosis of the disease, providing an important basis for clinical treatment and genetic counseling for family members. In addition, the detection of novel mutation sites has enriched the SLC25A13 gene variation spectrum.

Determination of Spin-Parity Quantum Numbers for the Narrow Structure near the pΛ[over ¯] Threshold in e^{+}e^{-}→pK^{-}Λ[over ¯]+c.c. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 131:151901. [PMID: 37897776 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.131.151901] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 03/06/2023] [Revised: 08/22/2023] [Accepted: 09/15/2023] [Indexed: 10/30/2023]
Abstract
A narrow structure in the pΛ[over ¯] system near the mass threshold, named as X(2085), is observed in the process e^{+}e^{-}→pK^{-}Λ[over ¯] with a statistical significance greater than 20σ. Its spin and parity are determined for the first time to be J^{P}=1^{+} in an amplitude analysis, with a statistical significance greater than 5σ over other quantum numbers (0^{-},1^{-} and 2^{+}). The pole positions of X(2085) are measured to be M_{pole}=(2084_{-2}^{+4}±9) MeV and Γ_{pole}=(58_{-3}^{+4}±25) MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The analysis is based on the study of the process e^{+}e^{-}→pK^{-}Λ[over ¯] and uses the data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energies sqrt[s]=4.008, 4.178, 4.226, 4.258, 4.416, and 4.682 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 8.35 fb^{-1}.

Precise Measurement of the e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{*+}D_{s}^{*-} Cross Sections at Center-of-Mass Energies from Threshold to 4.95 GeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 131:151903. [PMID: 37897771 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.131.151903] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 05/19/2023] [Revised: 08/16/2023] [Accepted: 08/29/2023] [Indexed: 10/30/2023]
Abstract
The process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{*+}D_{s}^{*-} is studied with a semi-inclusive method using data samples at center-of-mass energies from threshold to 4.95 GeV collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The Born cross sections of the process are measured for the first time with high precision in this energy region. Two resonance structures are observed in the energy-dependent cross sections around 4.2 and 4.4 GeV. By fitting the cross sections with a coherent sum of three Breit-Wigner amplitudes and one phase-space amplitude, the two significant structures are assigned masses of (4186.8±8.7±30) and (4414.6±3.4±6.1) MeV/c^{2}, widths of (55±15±53) and (122.5±7.5±8.1) MeV, where the first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The inclusion of a third Breit-Wigner amplitude is necessary to describe a structure around 4.79 GeV.

Our data contain a signal of this decay with a statistical significance of 2.9σ. The branching fraction of D_{s}^{*+}→e^{+}ν_{e} is measured to be (2.1_{-0.9_{stat}}^{+1.2}±0.2_{syst})×10^{-5}, corresponding to an upper limit of 4.0×10^{-5} at the 90% confidence level. Taking the total width of the D_{s}^{*+} [(0.070±0.028) keV] predicted with the radiative D_{s}^{*+} decay from the lattice QCD calculation as input, the decay constant of the D_{s}^{*+} is determined to be f_{D_{s}^{*+}}=(214_{-46_{stat}}^{+61}±44_{syst}) MeV, corresponding to an upper limit of 354 MeV at the 90% confidence level.

Clinical characteristics, prognostic factors, and treatment modalities for head and neck lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma: A real-world study from southern China. Radiother Oncol 2023; 187:109814. [PMID: 37480992 DOI: 10.1016/j.radonc.2023.109814] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/12/2022] [Revised: 07/11/2023] [Accepted: 07/14/2023] [Indexed: 07/24/2023]
Abstract
BACKGROUND We aimed to elucidate the clinical characteristics, prognostic factors and optimal treatment modalities of head and neck lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (HNLELC). METHODS Consecutive patients newly-diagnosed with non-metastatic HNLELC between December 2001 and March 2021 treated with curative intent were retrospectively reviewed. RESULTS A total of 288 patients were included, of whom 87 (30.2%) underwent radical surgery alone, 43 (14.9%) underwent definitive radiotherapy with or without concurrent chemotherapy, and 158 (54.9%) underwent surgery followed by postoperative radiotherapy (SRT). Epstein-Barr virus-encoded small RNA (EBER) was positive in 94.8% (239/252) of patients. Cervical node infiltration was seen in 52.8% (152/288) of patients. No significant difference was found in nodal metastasis rate between T1-2 and T3-4 classifications (49.5% vs. 56.5%, p = 0.308). The 3-year overall survival (OS), disease-free survival, locoregional relapse-free survival, and distant metastasis-free survival rates were 89.4%, 78.7%, 89.2%, and 87.7%, respectively. Compared to SRT, surgery alone associated with significant reduced 3-year local (92.8% vs. 96.5%, p = 0.012) and regional relapse-free survival rates (89.3% vs. 96.8%, p = 0.002). Definitive radiotherapy and SRT demonstrated comparable results in all 3-year survival outcomes (all p>0.05). Multivariate analysis found EBER status was an independent favorable prognostic factor for OS (HR = 0.356, 95% CI: 0.144-0.882, p = 0.026). CONCLUSION HNLELC was observed to associate with EBV infection and cervical nodal infiltration. Definitive radiotherapy achieved similar survival outcomes compared to SRT, and may serve as a good substitute for patients unfit or unwilling to undergo surgery.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the efficacy of robot-assisted laparoscopic modified ventral onlay lingual mucosal graft for complex ureteral stricture. Methods: The clinical data of 8 patients with ureteral stricture admitted to the Department of Urology, General Hospital of Southern Theater Command from May to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 6 males and 2 females, aged (45.1±10.2) years (range: 34 to 64 years), body mass index (24.6±2.0) kg/m2 (range: 20.7 to 26.6 kg/m2). Five cases on the left side, 3 cases on the right side, the length of the ureteral structure was (3.1±0.7) cm (range: 2.2 to 4.5 cm). The value of preoperative serum creatinine was (113.8±22.3) μmol/L (range: 96 to 15 μmol/L). Before excising the structure segment, the titched anastomosed part of the dorsal wall of the ureter, and then the posteriorly augmented anastomotic, the remaining ventral side was augmented with a onlay lingual mucosa graft, then the omentum flap was used to wrap the reconstructed ureteral segment. The lingual mucosa graft with a length of 2.5 to 5.0 cm and a width of 1.0 to 1.5 cm was cut according to the actual structure. The surgery information of the patient, complications, and recent follow-up were recorded. Results: The operation under robot-assisted laparoscopy was performed successfully in the 8 patients without conversion to open surgery. The duration of the operation was (226.9±22.8) minutes (range: 210 to 255 minutes), estimated blood loss was (93.8±25.9) ml (range: 75 to 150 ml), the retention time of the postoperative drainage tube was (4.8±1.3) days (range: 3 to 7 days), and the duration of postoperative hospitalization was (11.1±3.6) days (range: 9 to 14 days). One week after the operation, the patient could pronounce correctly, enunciate clearly, and eat normally. Double J tubes were removed 4 to 8 weeks after the operation. The follow-up time in this group was 3 to 9 months, the follow-up patients underwent imaging and other examinations, which showed a significant improvement in hydronephrosis on the affected side, and the value of renal pelvic separation on the affected side was (1.4±0.8) cm (range: 0 to 2.3 cm). The serum creatinine value was (100.1±24.9) μmol/L (range: 76 to 155 μmol/L). Three months after the operation, the ureteroscopy showed that the ureter was smooth and the mucosa was normal. Conclusions: Robot-assisted laparoscopic ureteroplasty with a lingual mucosal graft is a safe and feasible operation for complex ureteral stricture without serious complications, which provides a surgical option for repairing ureteral stricture.

Abstract
A reasonable definition of carbon emission responsibility and inter-provincial carbon compensation is an important approach to promote regional coordinated emission reduction. Here, based on the 2017 multi-regional input-output table, carbon emissions from provinces were decomposed by using the value-added trade decomposition method, the embodied carbon flows between provinces were measured, and a differentiated carbon compensation mechanism based on emission reduction cost was designed, which provides the reference for China to carry out horizontal carbon compensation. The main conclusions were as follows:①the carbon emissions caused by the final demand within the province accounted for 53.56%, whereas the carbon emissions caused by the final demand outside the province accounted for 32.49%. The embodied carbon flows among provinces showed a significant existence. ②The embodied carbon showed a significant flow characteristic of transferring from the northern and central regions to the Beijing-Tianjin region and the southeastern coastal regions. ③From the perspective of producers, consumers, and shared responsibility, the total carbon emissions of provinces and cities were equal, and the distribution idea of shared responsibility reflected the "benefit principle." ④There were differences in carbon emission reduction costs between provinces. In areas with low carbon emission reduction costs, direct carbon emissions were high, and the industries were dominated by heavy industry. In areas with high carbon emission reduction costs, direct carbon emissions were low, and the industries were high-tech industries and service industries. ⑤The amount of compensation to be paid/accepted by provinces varied based on the cost of emission reduction. Among them, Guangdong had the highest amount of compensation to be paid, and Inner Mongolia had the highest amount of compensation to be accepted.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of lncRNA DRAIC on proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasion of lung adenocarcinoma cells and its mechanism. Methods: Reverse transcription-quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to detect the expression of DRAIC in lung cancer tissues and corresponding adjacent normal tissues of 40 patients with lung adenocarcinoma who underwent surgery in Tangshan People's Hospital from 2019 to 2020. Lung adenocarcinoma cells A549 and H1299 were cultured in vitro and divided into si-NC group, si-DRAIC group, miR-NC group, let-7i-5p mimics group, si-DRAIC+ inhibitor-NC group, and si-DRAIC+ let-7i-5p inhibitor group. CCK-8 method and clone formation experiment were used to detect cell proliferation. Flow cytometry was used to detect cell apoptosis. Transwell array was used to detect the cell migration and invasion. Western blot was used to detect the protein expressions of Caspase-3, Caspase-9, Bcl-2 and Bax. The double luciferase reporter gene experiment was used to verify the regulatory relationship between DRAIC and let-7i-5p. Independent sample t test was used for comparison between two groups, one-way ANOVA was used for comparison between multiple groups, and Pearson correlation analysis was used for correlation analysis. Results: Compared with adjacent tissues, the expression level of DRAIC in lung adenocarcinoma tissues increased (P<0.05), but the expression level of let-7i-5p decreased (P<0.05). The expression levels of DRAIC and let-7i-5p in lung adenocarcinoma tissues were negatively correlated (r=-0.737, P<0.05). The absorbance value of A549 and H1299 cells in the si-DRAIC group at 48, 72 and 96 hours were lower than those in the si-NC group (P<0.05), the number of clones formed [(91.00±6.08 vs. 136.67±6.51); (50.67±1.53 vs. 76.67±4.51)], the number of migration [(606.67±31.34 vs. 960.00±33.06); (483.33±45.96 vs. 741.67±29.67)], the number of invasion [(185.00±8.19 vs. 447.33±22.05); (365.00±33.87 vs. 688.00±32.97)] were lower than those in the si-NC group (P<0.05). However, the apoptosis rates of cells [(13.43±2.79)% vs. (4.53±0.42)%; (23.77±1.04)% vs. (6.60±1.42)%] were higher than those in the si-NC group (P<0.05). The protein expressions of Caspase-3, Caspase-9 and Bax in si-DRAIC group were higher than those in si-NC group, and the protein expression of Bcl-2 was lower than that in si-NC group (P<0.05). DRAIC is located in the cytoplasm. DRAIC targeted and negatively regulated the expression of let-7i-5p. The absorbance values of A549 and H1299 cells in the let-7i-5p mimics group at 48, 72 and 96 hours were lower than those in the miR-NC group (P<0.05), the number of clones formed [(131.33±14.47 vs. 171.33±6.11); (59.33±4.93 vs. 80.33±7.09)], the number of migration [(137.67±3.06 vs. 579.33±82.03); (425.00±11.14 vs. 669.33±21.13)], the number of invasion [(54.00±4.36 vs. 112.67±11.59); (80.00±4.58 vs. 333.33±16.80)] were lower than those in the miR-NC group (P<0.05). However, the apoptosis rates of cells [(14.57±1.10)% vs. (6.97±1.11)%; (23.97±0.42)% vs. (7.07±1.21)%] were higher than those in the miR-NC group (P<0.05). The protein expressions of Caspase-3, Caspase-9 and Bax in let-7i-5p mimics group were higher than those in miR-NC group, and the protein expression of Bcl-2 was lower than that in miR-NC group (P<0.05). The absorbance values of A549 and H1299 cells in the si-DRAIC+ let-7i-5p inhibitor group at 48, 72 and 96 hours were higher than those in the si-DRAIC+ inhibitor-NC group (P<0.05), the number of clones formed [(82.00±5.29 vs. 59.00±5.57); (77.67±4.93 vs. 41.33±7.57)], the number of migration [(774.33±35.81 vs. 455.67±19.04); (569.67±18.72 vs. 433.67±16.77)], the number of invasion [(670.33±17.21 vs. 451.00±17.52); (263.67±3.06 vs. 182.33±11.93)] were higher than those in the si-DRAIC+ inhibitor-NC group (P<0.05). However, the apoptosis rates of cells [(7.73±0.45)% vs. (19.13±1.50)%; (8.00±0.53)% vs. (28.40±0.53)%] were lower than those in the si-NC group (P<0.05). The protein expressions of Caspase-3, Caspase-9 and Bax in si-DRAIC+ let-7i-5p inhibitor group were higher than those in si-DRAIC+ inhibitor-NC group, and the protein expression of Bcl-2 was lower than that in si-DRAIC+ inhibitor-NC group (P<0.05). Conclusion: DRAIC is highly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma, and DRAIC promotes the proliferation, migration and invasion of lung adenocarcinoma cells and inhibits apoptosis by targeting let-7i-5p.

Abstract
Using (1.0087±0.0044)×10^{10} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, the process Ξ^{0}n→Ξ^{-}p is studied, where the Ξ^{0} baryon is produced in the process J/ψ→Ξ^{0}Ξ[over ¯]^{0} and the neutron is a component of the ^{9}Be, ^{12}C, and ^{197}Au nuclei in the beam pipe. A clear signal is observed with a statistical significance of 7.1σ. The cross section of the reaction Ξ^{0}+^{9}Be→Ξ^{-}+p+^{8}Be is determined to be σ(Ξ^{0}+^{9}Be→Ξ^{-}+p+^{8}Be)=(22.1±5.3_{stat}±4.5_{sys}) mb at the Ξ^{0} momentum of 0.818 GeV/c, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No significant H-dibaryon signal is observed in the Ξ^{-}p final state. This is the first study of hyperon-nucleon interactions in electron-positron collisions and opens up a new direction for such research.

Abstract
Based on electron positron collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage rings, the differential cross sections of inclusive π^{0} and K_{S}^{0} production as a function of hadron momentum, normalized by the total cross section of the e^{+}e^{-}→hadrons process, are measured at six center-of-mass energies from 2.2324 to 3.6710 GeV. Our results, which cover a relative hadron energy range from 0.1 to 0.9, significantly deviate from several theoretical calculations based on existing fragmentation functions.

Abstract
Since the discovery of graphene in an atomic thin layer format, many investigations have been conducted to search for two-dimensional (2D) layered materials, in which 3d-transition metals offer much new physics and great freedom of tunability. In this work, through electron-beam irradiation, we enable the manufacture of a new 2D Ti nanosheet from a suspension of Ti0.91O2 nanosheets. In state-of-the-art density functional theory (DFT), both empirical and linear response theory predicted that Hubbard Ueff values would be imposed, resulting in unstable phonon dispersion curves. In the end, the newly found Ti monolayer is confirmed to be a non-magnetic superconductor, with a medium level of electron-phonon coupling. The newly established Ti layer is quite robust under strain, and the evolution of local Dirac points in electronic bands is also analyzed in terms of linearity and energetic shift near the Fermi energy. As suggested by the Fermi surface, this metal monolayer experiences an electronic topological transition under strain. Our findings will encourage many more explorations of pure d metal-based isotopic monolayers with diverse structures and open a new playground for 2D superconductors and ultra-thin sensoring components.

Abstract
Using (10 087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, the radiative hyperon decay Σ^{+}→pγ is studied at an electron-positron collider experiment for the first time. The absolute branching fraction is measured to be (0.996±0.021_{stat}±0.018_{syst})×10^{-3}, which is lower than its world average value by 4.2 standard deviations. Its decay asymmetry parameter is determined to be -0.652±0.056_{stat}±0.020_{syst}. The branching fraction and decay asymmetry parameter are the most precise to date, and the accuracies are improved by 78% and 34%, respectively.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of high-dose dual therapy compared with bismuth-containing quadruple therapy for treating Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) infection in servicemen patients. Methods: A total of 160 H. pylori-infected, treatment-naive servicemen, including 74 men and 86 women, aged from 20 years to 74 years, with a mean (SD) age of 43 (13) years, tested in the First Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from March 2022 to May 2022 were enrolled in this open-label, randomized controlled clinical trial. Patients were randomly allocated into 2 groups: the 14-day high-dose dual therapy group and the bismuth-containing quadruple therapy group. Eradication rates, adverse events, patient compliance, and drug costs were compared between the two groups. The t-test was used for continuous variables, and the Chi-square test for categorical variables. Results: No significant difference in H. pylori eradication rates were found between high-dose dual therapy and bismuth-containing quadruple therapy by ITT, mITT and PP analysis[ITT:90.0% (95%CI 81.2%-95.6%) vs. 87.5% (95%CI 78.2%-93.8%), χ2=0.25, P=0.617;mITT:93.5% (95%CI 85.5%-97.9%) vs. 93.3% (95%CI 85.1%-97.8%), χ2<0.01, P=1.000; PP: 93.5% (95%CI 85.5%-97.9%) vs. 94.5% (95%CI 86.6%-98.5%), χ2<0.01, P=1.000 ]. The dual therapy group exhibited significantly less overall side effects compared with the quadruple therapy group [21.8% (17/78) vs. 38.5% (30/78), χ2=5.15,P=0.023]. There were no significant differences in the compliance rates between the two groups [98.7%(77/78) vs. 94.9%(74/78), χ2=0.83,P=0.363]. The cost of medications in the dual therapy was 32.0% lower compared with that in the quadruple therapy (472.10 RMB vs. 693.94 RMB). Conclusions: The dual regimen has a favorable effect on the eradication of H. pylori infection in servicemen patients. Based on the ITT analysis, the eradication rate of the dual regimen is grade B (90%, good). Additionally, it exhibited a lower incidence of adverse events, better compliance and significantly reduced cost. The dual regimen is expected to be a new choice for the first-line treatment of H. pylori infection in servicemen but needs further evaluation.

Abstract
The dose caused by external exposure to neutrons can be evaluated by measuring the induced 24Na activity due to interaction of 23Na in human body with neutrons. To investigate the difference between male and female in the 24Na activity, the MCNP code is used to simulate the ICRP 110 adult male and female reference computational phantoms irradiated by 252Cf neutrons. The results show that the average absorbed dose of whole body caused by per unit neutron fluence for the female phantom is (5.22 ± 0.06)% - (6.84 ± 0.05)% higher than that for the male phantom. The 24Na specific activity of male tissues/organs is higher than that of female, except muscle tissues, bone, colon, kidney, red marrow, spleen, gallbladder, rectum and gonads. The highest intensity of 24Na characteristic gamma rays on the body surface occurred at Z = 125 cm on the back for the male phantom, while the highest gamma ray fluence for the female phantom is at Z = 116 cm, both of which are aligned with liver. When 1 Gy of 252Cf neutrons irradiate the ICRP110 phantoms, (1.51-2.44) × 105 and (3.70-5.97) × 104 24Na characteristic gamma rays can be recorded in 10 min by 3-inch NaI(Tl) detector and Φ 5 × 3 cm3 HPGe detector, respectively.

Measurements of the Electric and Magnetic Form Factors of the Neutron for Timelike Momentum Transfer. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:151905. [PMID: 37115883 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.130.151905] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 12/15/2022] [Revised: 02/27/2023] [Accepted: 03/23/2023] [Indexed: 06/19/2023]
Abstract
We present the first measurements of the electric and magnetic form factors of the neutron in the timelike (positive q^{2}) region as function of four-momentum transfer. We explored the differential cross sections of the reaction e^{+}e^{-}→n[over ¯]n with data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII accelerator, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 354.6 pb^{-1} in total at twelve center-of-mass energies between sqrt[s]=2.0-2.95 GeV. A relative uncertainty of 18% and 12% for the electric and magnetic form factors, respectively, is achieved at sqrt[s]=2.3935 GeV. Our results are comparable in accuracy to those from electron scattering in the comparable spacelike region of four-momentum transfer. The electromagnetic form factor ratio R_{em}≡|G_{E}|/|G_{M}| is within the uncertainties close to unity. We compare our result on |G_{E}| and |G_{M}| to recent model predictions, and the measurements in the spacelike region to test the analyticity of electromagnetic form factors.

Abstract
Using 4.7 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data at center-of-mass energies from 4.661 to 4.951 GeV collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we observe the X(3872) production process e^{+}e^{-}→ωX(3872) for the first time. The significance is 7.8σ, including both the statistical and systematic uncertainties. The e^{+}e^{-}→ωX(3872) Born cross section and the corresponding upper limit at 90% confidence level at each energy point are reported. The line shape of the cross section indicates that the ωX(3872) signals may be from the decays of some nontrivial structures.

Abstract
Mitochondria are closely related to oxidative stress and play an important role in maintaining cell functional homeostasis and meeting cell energy demand. The transient receptor potential melastatin 2 (TRPM2) channel affects the occurrence and progression of diseases by regulating mitochondrial function. TRPM2 channel promotes Ca2+ influx to affect 18 kDa translocator protein (TSPO), mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), reactive oxygen species (ROS), adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production, and mitochondrial autophagy. The mechanism of Ca2+ influx into the mitochondria by TRPM2 is abundant. Interestingly, the TRPM2 channel inhibits the production of mitochondrial ROS in cancer cells and promotes the production of mitochondrial ROS in normal cells, which induces cell death in normal cells but proliferation in cancer cells. TRPM2 can be a potential target for the treatment of various diseases due to its role as a molecular link between mitochondria and Ca2+ signals.

Abstract
The Born cross sections of the process e^{+}e^{-}→D^{*0}D^{*-}π^{+} at center-of-mass energies from 4.189 to 4.951 GeV are measured for the first time. The data samples used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 17.9 fb^{-1} and were collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Three enhancements around 4.20, 4.47, and 4.67 GeV are visible. The resonances have masses of 4209.6±4.7±5.9 MeV/c^{2}, 4469.1±26.2±3.6 MeV/c^{2}, and 4675.3±29.5±3.5 MeV/c^{2} and widths of 81.6±17.8±9.0 MeV, 246.3±36.7±9.4 MeV, and 218.3±72.9±9.3 MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The first and third resonances are consistent with the ψ(4230) and ψ(4660) states, respectively, while the second one is compatible with the ψ(4500) observed in the e^{+}e^{-}→K^{+}K^{-}J/ψ process. These three charmoniumlike ψ states are observed in the e^{+}e^{-}→D^{*0}D^{*-}π^{+} process for the first time.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Oxcarbazepine (OXC) is metabolised to active 10-monohydroxy derivative (MHD) after oral administration. Using this fact we aimed to develop an MHD population pharmacokinetic (PPK) model in Chinese adult epileptic patients to facilitate the clinical implementation of model-guided individualised drug therapy. METHODS We collected blood samples from Chinese adult epileptic patients taking OXC at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. We used high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC-MS/MS) with tandem mass spectrometry to detect MHD concentrations in the blood samples. We collected various data from patients including their demographic, pathological, and physiological information. MassARRAY method was used to detect ABCC2, ABCB1, SCN8A, SCN1A, SCN2A, SCN3A, UGT1A9, and UGT2B7 gene polymorphisms. We used a nonlinear mixed-effects modelling method to develop the PPK model and we predicted dosing regimens through simulation. RESULT In total we collected 164 blood samples from 118 patients. We found that a one-compartment model with first-order absorption better described the in vivo MHD pharmacokinetics. UGT2B7 gene (rs7439366) site mutation and the combined use of valproic acid enhanced the MHD clearance rate. We divided patients into groups based on the UGT2B7 genotype and whether they were also using valproic acid at the same time. Individualised OXC dosing regimens were proposed for different subgroups of patients. CONCLUSION In Chinese adult epileptic patients, individualised drug administration can be facilitated using a PPK model of OXC. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER ChiCTR-OOC-17012141.

Evidence for the Cusp Effect in η' Decays into ηπ^{0}π^{0}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:081901. Abstract
Using a sample of 4.3×10^{5} η^{'}→ηπ^{0}π^{0} events selected from the ten billion J/ψ event dataset collected with the BESIII detector, we study the decay η^{'}→ηπ^{0}π^{0} within the framework of nonrelativistic effective field theory. Evidence for a structure at π^{+}π^{-} mass threshold is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of π^{0}π^{0} with a statistical significance of around 3.5σ, which is consistent with the cusp effect as predicted by the nonrelativistic effective field theory. After introducing the amplitude for describing the cusp effect, the ππ scattering length combination a_{0}-a_{2} is determined to be 0.226±0.060_{stat}±0.013_{syst}, which is in good agreement with theoretical calculation of 0.2644±0.0051.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The current cervical lymph nodes classification system is not perfectly reasonable for radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). This study aimed to determine the metastatic patterns of level II-V lymph nodes in NPC by using vertebrae as anatomical landmarks. MATERIALS AND METHODS Four hundred and forty node-positive NPC patients were selected. Metastatic lymph nodes were diagnosed using positron emission tomography/computed tomography scan or magnetic resonance imaging. We evaluated univariate and multivariate logistic correlations between the vertebral levels of metastatic level II-V lymph nodes. RESULTS The metastasis rate of level II-V lymph nodes gradually decreased from C2 (66.5%) and C3 (68.2%) to T1 (4.1%) vertebral levels. When assessed per vertebral level, 98.4% were non-skip metastasis. The interval of vertebral levels and distance between the inferior border of the tumor and the metastatic lymph nodes were similar in N1 and N2 patients. Univariate correlation analysis showed the metastasis of level II-V lymph nodes at each vertebral level was associated with the metastasis at any other vertebral level. In the multivariate analysis, metastasis at any one of the C2-C7 vertebral levels strongly and positively correlated with metastasis at two adjacent vertebral levels, including one level above and one below. CONCLUSION This is the first study to report the distribution and non-skip metastatic patterns of level II-V lymph nodes assessed per vertebral levels in NPC. The low-risk clinical target volume could be reduced to two vertebral levels below the vertebral level of the metastatic level II-V nodes when both imaging modalities are available.

Abstract
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a major health concern worldwide, and the incidence of metabolic disorders associated with NAFLD is rapidly increasing because of the obesity epidemic. There are currently no approved drugs that prevent or treat NAFLD. Recent evidence shows that bavachin, a flavonoid isolated from the seeds and fruits of Psoralea corylifolia L., increases the transcriptional activity of PPARγ and insulin sensitivity during preadipocyte differentiation, but the effect of bavachin on glucose and lipid metabolism remains unclear. In the current study we investigated the effects of bavachin on obesity-associated NAFLD in vivo and in vitro. In mouse primary hepatocytes and Huh7 cells, treatment with bavachin (20 μM) significantly suppressed PA/OA or high glucose/high insulin-induced increases in the expression of fatty acid synthesis-related genes and the number and size of lipid droplets. Furthermore, bavachin treatment markedly elevated the phosphorylation levels of AKT and GSK-3β, improving the insulin signaling activity in the cells. In HFD-induced obese mice, administration of bavachin (30 mg/kg, i.p. every other day for 8 weeks) efficiently attenuated the increases in body weight, liver weight, blood glucose, and liver and serum triglyceride contents. Moreover, bavachin administration significantly alleviated hepatic inflammation and ameliorated HFD-induced glucose intolerance and insulin resistance. We demonstrated that bavachin protected against HFD-induced obesity by inducing fat thermogenesis and browning subcutaneous white adipose tissue (subWAT). We revealed that bavachin repressed the expression of lipid synthesis genes in the liver of obese mice, while promoting the expression of thermogenesis, browning, and mitochondrial respiration-related genes in subWAT and brown adipose tissue (BAT) in the mice. In conclusion, bavachin attenuates hepatic steatosis and obesity by repressing de novo lipogenesis, inducing fat thermogenesis and browning subWAT, suggesting that bavachin is a potential drug for NAFLD therapy.

Abstract
Uveitis is a common sight-threatening ocular disease that has multiple heterogeneous clinical entities, complicated pathogenesis, and a high complication rate. The visual impairment caused by uveitis, the side effects of long-term systemic therapy, and the economic burden due to the high cost of treatment have a significant impact on the patient's physical, psychological, and social functions, resulting in a decrease in the quality of life of uveitis sufferers. Accurate assessment of patients' quality of life is helpful to guild treatment, enhance compliance and improve patients' overall quality of life. This article reviews the current progress on the quality of life assessment scales and psychological assessment tools to evaluate overall quality of life in patients with uveitis, thereby to provide reference and theoretical basis for selecting and developing the quality of life assessment tools for uveitis patients.
