Abstract
The Born cross sections of the process e^{+}e^{-}→D^{*0}D^{*-}π^{+} at center-of-mass energies from 4.189 to 4.951 GeV are measured for the first time. The data samples used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 17.9 fb^{-1} and were collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Three enhancements around 4.20, 4.47, and 4.67 GeV are visible. The resonances have masses of 4209.6±4.7±5.9 MeV/c^{2}, 4469.1±26.2±3.6 MeV/c^{2}, and 4675.3±29.5±3.5 MeV/c^{2} and widths of 81.6±17.8±9.0 MeV, 246.3±36.7±9.4 MeV, and 218.3±72.9±9.3 MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The first and third resonances are consistent with the ψ(4230) and ψ(4660) states, respectively, while the second one is compatible with the ψ(4500) observed in the e^{+}e^{-}→K^{+}K^{-}J/ψ process. These three charmoniumlike ψ states are observed in the e^{+}e^{-}→D^{*0}D^{*-}π^{+} process for the first time.

Evidence for the Cusp Effect in η' Decays into ηπ^{0}π^{0}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:081901. Abstract
Using a sample of 4.3×10^{5} η^{'}→ηπ^{0}π^{0} events selected from the ten billion J/ψ event dataset collected with the BESIII detector, we study the decay η^{'}→ηπ^{0}π^{0} within the framework of nonrelativistic effective field theory. Evidence for a structure at π^{+}π^{-} mass threshold is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of π^{0}π^{0} with a statistical significance of around 3.5σ, which is consistent with the cusp effect as predicted by the nonrelativistic effective field theory. After introducing the amplitude for describing the cusp effect, the ππ scattering length combination a_{0}-a_{2} is determined to be 0.226±0.060_{stat}±0.013_{syst}, which is in good agreement with theoretical calculation of 0.2644±0.0051.

Associations of insomnia with insulin resistance traits: a cross-sectional and Mendelian Randomization study. J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2023:7043128. Abstract
CONTEXT Insomnia is associated with insulin resistance (IR) in observational studies, however, whether insomnia is causally associated with IR remains unestablished. OBJECTIVE This study aims to estimate the causal associations of insomnia with IR and its related traits. METHODS In primary analyses, multivariable regression (MVR) and one-sample Mendelian randomization (1SMR) analyses were performed to estimate the associations of insomnia with IR (triglyceride-glucose [TyG] index and triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [TG/HDL-C] ratio) and its related traits (glucose level, TG, and HDL-C) in UK Biobank. Thereafter, two-sample MR (2SMR) analyses were used to validate the findings from primary analyses. Finally, the potential mediating effects of IR on the pathway of insomnia giving rise to T2D were examined using a two-step MR design. RESULTS Across the MVR, 1SMR, and their sensitivity analyses, we found consistent evidence suggesting that more frequent insomnia symptoms were significantly associated with higher values of TyG index (MVR: β = 0.024, P < 2.00E-16; 1SMR: β = 0.343, P < 2.00E-16), TG/HDL-C ratio (MVR: β = 0.016, P = 1.75E-13; 1SMR: β = 0.445, P < 2.00E-16), and TG level (MVR: β = 0.019 log mg/dl, P < 2.00E-16; 1SMR: β = 0.289 log mg/dL, P < 2.00E-16) after Bonferroni adjustment. Similar evidence was obtained by using 2SMR, and mediation analysis suggested that about a quarter (25.21%) of the association between insomnia symptoms and T2D was mediated by IR. CONCLUSIONS This study provides robust evidence supporting that more frequent insomnia symptoms are associated with IR and its related traits across different angles. These findings indicate that insomnia symptoms can be served as a promising target to improve IR and prevent subsequent T2D.

MiR-652-3p promotes malignancy and metastasis of cancer cells via inhibiting TNRC6A in hepatocellular carcinoma. Biochem Biophys Res Commun 2023; 640:1-11. [PMID: 36495604 DOI: 10.1016/j.bbrc.2022.11.100] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 09/29/2022] [Revised: 11/21/2022] [Accepted: 11/30/2022] [Indexed: 12/07/2022]
Abstract
BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was one of the most prevalent life-threatening cancers. Metastasis is the leading cause of cancer-related death in HCC. MiRNAs play essential roles in cancer metastasis. METHODS Expression of miR-652-3p in HCC was assessed. Function experiments of miR-652-3p and trinucleotide repeat-containing gene 6A protein (TNRC6A) were performed both in vitro and in vivo. mRNA sequencing, PCR, and western blot were performed to verify the target genes and pathway of miR-652-3p. The lung metastasis and xenograft cancer model in nude mice was established to investigate the effects of the miR-652-3p and TRNC6A on tumor metastasis in vivo. The relationship between the expression of the miR-652-3p, TNRC6A and the prognosis of HCC patients was analyzed. RESULTS Upregulated miR-652-3p was found in the tumor tissues of HCC, especially in metastatic HCC patients. Overexpression of miR-652-3p promoted and knockdown of miR-652-3p suppressed HCC metastasis both in vitro and in vivo. MiR-652-3p promoted HCC metastasis via regulating the EMT pathway. TNRC6A was identified as a direct target of miR-652-3p, and the knockdown of TNRC6A restored repressed EMT and HCC metastasis caused by the inhibition of miR-652-3p. Clinical results revealed that high expression of miR-652-3p and low expression of TNRC6A were positively correlated to shortened overall survival and disease-free survival in HCC patients. CONCLUSIONS MiR-652-3p promotes EMT and HCC metastasis by inhibiting TNRC6A expression in HCC. MiR-652-3p and TNRC6A may serve as potential biomarkers to predict prognosis in HCC patients with metastasis.

Crit Care 2022; 26:398. Abstract
BACKGROUND Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication in sepsis. However, the trajectories of sepsis-induced AKI and their transcriptional profiles are not well characterized. METHODS Sepsis patients admitted to centres participating in Chinese Multi-omics Advances In Sepsis (CMAISE) from November 2020 to December 2021 were enrolled, and gene expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells was measured on Day 1. The renal function trajectory was measured by the renal component of the SOFA score (SOFArenal) on Days 1 and 3. Transcriptional profiles on Day 1 were compared between these renal function trajectories, and a support vector machine (SVM) was developed to distinguish transient from persistent AKI. RESULTS A total of 172 sepsis patients were enrolled during the study period. The renal function trajectory was classified into four types: non-AKI (SOFArenal = 0 on Days 1 and 3, n = 50), persistent AKI (SOFArenal > 0 on Days 1 and 3, n = 62), transient AKI (SOFArenal > 0 on Day 1 and SOFArenal = 0 on Day 3, n = 50) and worsening AKI (SOFArenal = 0 on Days 1 and SOFArenal > 0 on Day 3, n = 10). The persistent AKI group showed severe organ dysfunction and prolonged requirements for organ support. The worsening AKI group showed the least organ dysfunction on day 1 but had higher serum lactate and prolonged use of vasopressors than the non-AKI and transient AKI groups. There were 2091 upregulated and 1,902 downregulated genes (adjusted p < 0.05) between the persistent and transient AKI groups, with enrichment in the plasma membrane complex, receptor complex, and T-cell receptor complex. A 43-gene SVM model was developed using the genetic algorithm, which showed significantly greater performance predicting persistent AKI than the model based on clinical variables in a holdout subset (AUC: 0.948 [0.912, 0.984] vs. 0.739 [0.648, 0.830]; p < 0.01 for Delong's test). CONCLUSIONS Our study identified four subtypes of sepsis-induced AKI based on kidney injury trajectories. The landscape of host response aberrations across these subtypes was characterized. An SVM model based on a gene signature was developed to predict renal function trajectories, and showed better performance than the clinical variable-based model. Future studies are warranted to validate the gene model in distinguishing persistent from transient AKI.

Study of the Semileptonic Decay Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e}. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 129:231803. [PMID: 36563214 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.129.231803] [Citation(s) in RCA: 1] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.5] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 07/28/2022] [Accepted: 11/01/2022] [Indexed: 06/17/2023]
Abstract
The study of the Cabibbo-favored semileptonic decay Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e} is reported using a 4.5 fb^{-1} data sample of e^{+}e^{-} annihilations collected at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.600 GeV to 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The branching fraction of the decay is measured to be B(Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e})=(3.56±0.11_{stat}±0.07_{syst})%, which is the most precise measurement to date. Furthermore, we perform an investigation of the internal dynamics in Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e}. We provide the first direct comparisons of the differential decay rate and form factors with those predicted from lattice quantum chromodynamics (LQCD) calculations. Combining the measured branching fraction with a q^{2}-integrated rate predicted by LQCD, we determine |V_{cs}|=0.936±0.017_{B}±0.024_{LQCD}±0.007_{τ_{Λ_{c}}}.

Comparative study on the gastrointestinal- and immune- regulation functions of Hedysari Radix Paeparata Cum Melle and Astragali Radix Praeparata cum Melle in rats with spleen-qi deficiency, based on fuzzy matter-element analysis. PHARMACEUTICAL BIOLOGY 2022; 60:1237-1254. [PMID: 35763552 PMCID: PMC9246251 DOI: 10.1080/13880209.2022.2086990] [Citation(s) in RCA: 6] [Impact Index Per Article: 3.0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [MESH Headings] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 02/11/2022] [Revised: 05/31/2022] [Accepted: 06/02/2022] [Indexed: 05/27/2023]
Abstract
CONTEXT Hedysari Radix Praeparata Cum Melle (HRPCM) and Astragali Radix Praeparata Cum Melle (ARPCM) are used interchangeably in clinics to treat spleen-qi deficiency (SQD) symptom mainly including gastrointestinal dysfunction and decreased immunity, which has unknown differences in efficacy. OBJECTIVE To investigate the differences between HRPCM and ARPCM on intervening gastrointestinal- and immune-function with SQD syndrome. MATERIALS AND METHODS After the SQD model was established, the Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into nine groups (n = 10): normal; model; Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi Pills; 18.9, 12.6 and 6.3 g/kg dose groups of HRPCM and ARPCM. Gastrointestinal function including d-xylose, gastrin, amylase vasoactive intestinal peptide, motilin, pepsin, H+/K+-ATPase, Na+/K+-ATPase, sodium-glucose cotransporter 1 (SGLT1), glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) and immune function including spleen and thymus index, blood routine, interleukin (IL)-2, IL-6, interferon-γ (IFN-γ), tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), immunoglobulin (Ig) M, IgA, IgG and delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) were detected. Finally, the efficacy differences were analysed comprehensively by the fuzzy matter-element method. RESULTS In regulating immune, the doses differences in efficacy between HRPCM and ARPCM showed in the high-dose (18.9 g/kg), but there were no differences in the middle- and low- dose (12.6 and 6.37 g/kg); the efficacy differences were primarily reflected in levels of IL-6, IFN-γ, TNF-α and IgM in serum, and the mRNA expression of IL-6 and IFN-γ in the spleen. In regulating gastrointestinal, the efficacy differences were primarily reflected in the levels of D-xylose, MTL, and GAS in serum, and the mRNA and protein expression of SGLT1 and GLUT2 in jejunum and ileum. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS HRPCM is more effective than ARPCM on regulating gastrointestinal function and immune function with SQD syndrome. Therefore, we propose that HRPCM should be mainly used to treat SQD syndrome in the future.

Abstract
The radiative hyperon decay Λ→nγ is studied using (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII. The absolute branching fraction of the decay Λ→nγ is determined to be (0.832±0.038_{stat}±0.054_{syst})×10^{-3}, which is a factor of 2.1 lower and 5.6 standard deviations different than the previous measurement. By analyzing the joint angular distribution of the decay products, the first determination of the decay asymmetry α_{γ} is reported with a value of -0.16±0.10_{stat}±0.05_{syst}.

Abstract
Using a sample of (10.09±0.04)×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→γηη^{'} is performed. The first observation of an isoscalar state with exotic quantum numbers J^{PC}=1^{-+}, denoted as η_{1}(1855), is reported in the process J/ψ→γη_{1}(1855) with η_{1}(1855)→ηη^{'}. Its mass and width are measured to be (1855±9_{-1}^{+6}) MeV/c^{2} and (188±18_{-8}^{+3}) MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic, and its statistical significance is estimated to be larger than 19σ.

Abstract
Using e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb^{-1} collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we perform the first amplitude analysis of the decay D_{s}^{+}→K_{S}^{0}K^{+}π^{0} and determine the relative branching fractions and phases for intermediate processes. We observe an a_{0}-like state with mass of 1.817 GeV in its decay to K_{S}^{0}K^{+} for the first time. In addition, we measure the ratio {B[D_{s}^{+}→K[over ¯]^{*}(892)^{0}K^{+}]/B[D_{s}^{+}→K[over ¯]^{0}K^{*}(892)^{+}]} to be 2.35_{-0.23stat}^{+0.42}±0.10_{syst}. Finally, we provide a precision measurement of the absolute branching fraction B(D_{s}^{+}→K_{S}^{0}K^{+}π^{0})=(1.46±0.06_{stat}±0.05_{syst})%.

Precise Measurements of Decay Parameters and CP Asymmetry with Entangled Λ-Λ[over ¯] Pairs. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2022; 129:131801. Abstract
Based on 10 billion J/ψ events collected at the BESIII experiment, a search for CP violation in Λ decay is performed in the difference between CP-odd decay parameters α_{-} for Λ→pπ^{-} and α_{+} for Λ[over ¯]→p[over ¯]π^{+} by using the process e^{+}e^{-}→J/ψ→ΛΛ[over ¯]. With a five-dimensional fit to the full angular distributions of the daughter baryon, the most precise values for the decay parameters are determined to be α_{-}=0.7519±0.0036±0.0024 and α_{+}=-0.7559±0.0036±0.0030, respectively. The Λ and Λ[over ¯] averaged value of the decay parameter is extracted to be α_{avg}=0.7542±0.0010±0.0024 with unprecedented accuracy. The CP asymmetry A_{CP}=(α_{-}+α_{+})/(α_{-}-α_{+}) is determined to be -0.0025±0.0046±0.0012, which is one of the most precise measurements in the baryon sector. The reported results for the decay parameter will play an important role in the studies of the polarizations and CP violations for the strange, charmed and beauty baryons.

Abstract
Plants rely on cell-surface-localized pattern recognition receptors to detect pathogen- or host-derived danger signals and trigger an immune response1-6. Receptor-like proteins (RLPs) with a leucine-rich repeat (LRR) ectodomain constitute a subgroup of pattern recognition receptors and play a critical role in plant immunity1-3. Mechanisms underlying ligand recognition and activation of LRR-RLPs remain elusive. Here we report a crystal structure of the LRR-RLP RXEG1 from Nicotiana benthamiana that recognizes XEG1 xyloglucanase from the pathogen Phytophthora sojae. The structure reveals that specific XEG1 recognition is predominantly mediated by an amino-terminal and a carboxy-terminal loop-out region (RXEG1(ID)) of RXEG1. The two loops bind to the active-site groove of XEG1, inhibiting its enzymatic activity and suppressing Phytophthora infection of N. benthamiana. Binding of XEG1 promotes association of RXEG1(LRR) with the LRR-type co-receptor BAK1 through RXEG1(ID) and the last four conserved LRRs to trigger RXEG1-mediated immune responses. Comparison of the structures of apo-RXEG1(LRR), XEG1-RXEG1(LRR) and XEG1-BAK1-RXEG1(LRR) shows that binding of XEG1 induces conformational changes in the N-terminal region of RXEG1(ID) and enhances structural flexibility of the BAK1-associating regions of RXEG1(LRR). These changes allow fold switching of RXEG1(ID) for recruitment of BAK1(LRR). Our data reveal a conserved mechanism of ligand-induced heterodimerization of an LRR-RLP with BAK1 and suggest a dual function for the LRR-RLP in plant immunity.

Abstract
We study the direct production of the J^{PC}=1^{++} charmonium state χ_{c1}(1P) in electron-positron annihilation by carrying out an energy scan around the mass of the χ_{c1}(1P). The data were collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. An interference pattern between the signal process e^{+}e^{-}→χ_{c1}(1P)→γJ/ψ→γμ^{+}μ^{-} and the background processes e^{+}e^{-}→γ_{ISR}J/ψ→γ_{ISR}μ^{+}μ^{-} and e^{+}e^{-}→γ_{ISR}μ^{+}μ^{-} is observed by combining all the data samples. The χ_{c1}(1P) signal is observed with a significance of 5.1σ. This is the first observation of a C-even state directly produced in e^{+}e^{-} annihilation. The electronic width of the χ_{c1}(1P) resonance is determined to be Γ_{ee}=(0.12_{-0.08}^{+0.13}) eV, which is of the same order of magnitude as theoretical calculations.

Abstract
We study the processes e^{+}e^{-}→K_{S}^{0}D_{s}^{+}D^{*-} and e^{+}e^{-}→K_{S}^{0}D_{s}^{*+}D^{-}, as well as their charge conjugated processes, at five center-of-mass energies between 4.628 and 4.699 GeV, using data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.8 fb^{-1} collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. Based on a partial reconstruction technique, we find evidence of a structure near the thresholds for D_{s}^{+}D^{*-} and D_{s}^{*+}D^{-} production in the K_{S}^{0} recoil-mass spectrum, which we refer to as the Z_{cs}(3985)^{0}. Fitting with a Breit-Wigner line shape, we find the mass of the structure to be (3992.2±1.7±1.6) MeV/c^{2} and the width to be (7.7_{-3.8}^{+4.1}±4.3) MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the Z_{cs}(3985)^{0} signal is found to be 4.6σ including both the statistical and systematic uncertainty. We report the Born cross section multiplied by the branching fraction at different energy points. The mass of the Z_{cs}(3985)^{0} is close to that of the Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}. Assuming SU(3) symmetry, the cross section of the neutral channel is consistent with that of the charged one. Hence, we conclude that the Z_{cs}(3985)^{0} is the isospin partner of the Z_{cs}(3985)^{+}.

Abstract
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.3 fb^{-1} collected at center-of-mass energies from 4.23 to 4.70 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the product of the e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}ψ_{2}(3823) cross section and the branching fraction B[ψ_{2}(3823)→γχ_{c1}]. For the first time, resonance structure is observed in the cross section line shape of e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}ψ_{2}(3823) with significances exceeding 5σ. A fit to data with two coherent Breit-Wigner resonances modeling the sqrt[s]-dependent cross section yields M(R_{1})=4406.9±17.2±4.5 MeV/c^{2}, Γ(R_{1})=128.1±37.2±2.3 MeV, and M(R_{2})=4647.9±8.6±0.8 MeV/c^{2}, Γ(R_{2})=33.1±18.6±4.1 MeV. Though weakly disfavored by the data, a single resonance with M(R)=4417.5±26.2±3.5 MeV/c^{2}, Γ(R)=245±48±13 MeV is also possible to interpret data. This observation deepens our understanding of the nature of the vector charmoniumlike states. The mass of the ψ_{2}(3823) state is measured as (3823.12±0.43±0.13) MeV/c^{2}, which is the most precise measurement to date.

Abstract
Objective: To characterize the histopathological subtypes and their clinicopathological parameters of gender and onset age by common, rare and sparse primary esophageal malignant tumors (PEMT). Methods: A total of 272 437 patients with PEMT were enrolled in this study, and all of the patients were received radical surgery. The clinicopathological information of the patients was obtained from the database established by the State Key Laboratory of Esophageal Cancer Prevention & Treatment from September 1973 to December 2020, which included the clinical treatment, pathological diagnosis and follow-up information of esophagus and gastric cardia cancers. All patients were diagnosed and classified by the criteria of esophageal tumor histopathological diagnosis and classification (2019) of the World Health Organization (WHO). The esophageal tumors, which were not included in the WHO classification, were analyzed separately according to the postoperative pathological diagnosis. The χ2 test was performed by the SPSS 25.0 software on count data, and the test standard α=0.05. Results: A total of 32 histopathological types were identified in the enrolled PEMT patients, of which 10 subtypes were not included in the WHO classification. According to the frequency, PEMT were divided into common (esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, ESCC, accounting for 97.1%), rare (esophageal adenocarcinoma, EAC, accounting for 2.3%) and sparse (mainly esophageal small cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, etc., accounting for 0.6%). All the common, rare, and sparse types occurred predominantly in male patients, and the gender difference of rare type was most significant (EAC, male∶ female, 2.67∶1), followed with common type (ESCC, male∶ female, 1.78∶1) and sparse type (male∶ female, 1.71∶1). The common type (ESCC) mainly occurred in the middle thoracic segment (65.2%), while the rare type (EAC) mainly occurred in the lower thoracic segment (56.8%). Among the sparse type, malignant melanoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma were both predominantly located in the lower thoracic segment (51.7%, 66.7%), and the others were mainly in the middle thoracic segment. Conclusion: ESCC is the most common type among the 32 histopathological types of PEMT, followed by EAC as the rare type, and esophageal small cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma as the major sparse type, and all of which are mainly occur in male patients. The common type of ESCC mainly occur in the middle thoracic segment, while the rare type of EAC mainly in the lower thoracic segment. The mainly sparse type of malignant melanoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma predominately occur in the lower thoracic segment, and the remaining sparse types mainly occur in the middle thoracic segment.

Curr Res Transl Med 2022; 70:103337. [PMID: 35679768 DOI: 10.1016/j.retram.2022.103337] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 01/22/2021] [Revised: 12/11/2021] [Accepted: 02/08/2022] [Indexed: 01/31/2023]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate and assess the clinical features and functions of a new lipoprotein lipase (Lpl) gene mutation c.986A>C (p.Y329S) found in hypertriglyceridemia(HTG) patients from a Chinese family. METHODS Five members of a family with the proband were diagnosed with HTG were investigated, and fasting peripheral blood was collected . The plasma was then used to measure triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), free fatty acids (FFA), and glucose tolerance. Following that, genomic deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was extracted from whole-blood samples using the QIAamp whole-blood DNA kit, and the coding exon regions and flanking regions of 95 dyslipidemia-related genes were captured using GenCap liquid-phase target gene capture technology. The activity of LPL and its mutation were then determined using cell assays, and the newly discovered LPL mutant was functionally analyzed. The binding site of fenofibrate and LPL, as well as the mutation, were subjected to predictive analysis. RESULTS The LPL gene's c.986A>C (p.Y329S) heterozygous mutation was discovered, and patients with the mutation had the typical phenotype of LPL deficiency and weakened LPL activity. Furthermore, this mutant has been treated with fenofibrate, and its triglyceride level is perfectly controlled and stable. The prediction analysis of the fenofibrate and LPL binding sites reveals that the wild-type system, Phe378 contributes most to the binding energy of fenofibrate. In the mutant system, Tyr394, which contributes the most to the binding energy of fenofibrate, the contribution of S329 is greater than that of Y329 (0.9∼0.7 kal/mol) . After Y329 is mutated, the hydrogen bond data of fenofibrate and LPL will also increase to quote H-bond diagrams. CONCLUSIONS A heterozygous mutation c.986A>C (p.Y329S) in exon 6 of Lpl gene occurs in the proband with familial HTG. Lpl c.986A>C (p.Y329S) mutation weakens the activity of the LPL, which may be the pathogenic mutation of HTG. In addition, The proband has been treated with fenofibrate and the triglyceride level is ideally controlled and stable. The prediction analysis of the fenofibrate and LPL binding site shows that the wild-type system, Phe378 contributes most to the binding energy of fenofibrate. In the mutant system, Tyr394, which contributes the most to the binding energy of fenofibrate, the contribution of S329 is greater than that of Y329 (0.9∼0.7 kal/mol). After Y329 is mutated, the hydrogen bond data of fenofibrate and LPL will also increase, which may be one of the reasons why the mutation has no effect on the therapeutic effect of fenofibrate.

Abstract
The associations between sleep duration and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have been explored in many observational studies. However, the causality of sleep duration and many CVDs, such as coronary artery disease (CAD), heart failure (HF), and stroke, remains unclear. In this study, we conducted a systematic meta-review and meta-analysis of the results of observational and Mendelian randomization (MR) studies to examine how sleep duration impacts the risk of CVDs. We searched articles published in English and before 10 September 2021 in PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase. The articles were screened independently by two reviewers to minimize potential bias. We combined the meta-analyses of observational studies and 11 MR studies and summarized evidence of the effect of sleep duration on the risk of CAD, HF, stroke, and cardiovascular and all-cause mortality. Results showed that (a) evidence is accumulating that short sleep duration is a causal risk factor for CAD and HF; (b) abundant evidence from observational studies supports that long sleep duration is associated with the risk of CAD, stroke, and mortality, and long sleep duration has no causal associations with stroke and CAD in the MR studies; the causation of long sleep duration and other CVDs should be further studied; and (c) emerging evidence indicates that an increase in hours of sleep is associated with a decreased risk of CAD. Finally, we discussed the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms underlying short sleep duration and CVDs and suggested that increasing sleep duration benefits cardiovascular health.

Abstract
Flexible pressure sensors play significant roles in wearable devices, electronic skins, and human-machine interface (HMI). However, it remains challenging to develop flexible piezoresistive sensors with outstanding comprehensive performances, especially with excellent long-term durability. Herein, a facile "interfacial locking strategy" has been developed to fabricate metal aerogel-based pressure sensors with excellent sensitivity and prominent stability. The strategy broke the bottleneck of the intrinsically poor mechanical properties of metal aerogels by grafting them on highly elastic melamine sponge with the help of a thin polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) layer as the interface-reinforcing media. The hierarchically porous conductive structure of the ensemble offered the as-prepared flexible piezoresistive sensor with a sensitivity as high as 12 kPa-1 , a response time as fast as 85 ms, and a prominent durability over 23 000 compression cycles. The excellent comprehensive performance enables the successful application of the flexible piezoresistive sensor as two-dimensional (2D) array device as well as three-dimensional (3D) force-detecting device for real-time monitoring of HMI activities.

Abstract
Based on (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, the process J/ψ→γπ^{+}π^{-}η^{'} is studied using two largest decay channels of the η^{'} meson, η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} and η^{'}→ηπ^{+}π^{-}, η→γγ. A new resonance, which we denote as the X(2600), is observed with a statistical significance larger than 20σ in the π^{+}π^{-}η^{'} invariant mass spectrum, and it has a connection to a structure around 1.5 GeV/c^{2} in the π^{+}π^{-} invariant mass spectrum. A simultaneous fit on the π^{+}π^{-}η^{'} and π^{+}π^{-} invariant mass spectra with the two η^{'} decay modes indicates that the mass and width of the X(2600) state are 2618.3±2.0_{-1.4}^{+16.3} MeV/c^{2} and 195±5_{-17}^{+26} MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical, and the second systematic.

Abstract
Using a sample of about 10^{10} J/ψ events collected at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=3.097 GeV with the BESIII detector, the electromagnetic Dalitz decays J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}π^{+}π^{-}η^{'}, with η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} and η^{'}→π^{+}π^{-}η, have been studied. The decay J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}X(1835) is observed with a significance of 15σ, and also an e^{+}e^{-} invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}X(1835) is presented for the first time. The intermediate states X(2120) and X(2370) are also observed in the π^{+}π^{-}η^{'} invariant-mass spectrum with significances of 5.3σ and 7.3σ. The corresponding product branching fractions for J/ψ→e^{+}e^{-}X, X→π^{+}π^{-}η^{'} [X=X(1835), X(2120), and X(2370)] are reported.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the corneal graft survival and related risk factors of primary penetrating keratoplasty in congenital corneal opacity infants. Methods: It was a retrospective cohort study. Data were collected from forty-two infants (51 eyes) who were aged ≤12 months and diagnosed with congenital corneal opacity in Beijing Tongren Hospital and Beijing Anzhen Hospital from January 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018. The mean age at surgery was (5.7±2.2) months (3-12 months). The mean follow-up duration was (28.6±2.6) months (24-33 months). All the patients underwent penetrating keratoplasty. The status of the corneal grafts and complications were observed and recorded during the regular follow-up. The survival probabilities were estimated by using the Kaplan-Meier and Log-rank test. The graft survival between different influence factors was analyzed by using the χ2 test. Results: The Kaplan-Meier survival rates for penetrating keratoplasty were 84.3% (43/51) at 6 months, 78.4% (40/51) at 12 months and 60.8% (31/51) at the last follow-up. The presence of corneal neovascularization was significantly correlated with graft failure (χ²=5.264, P=0.022). The graft survival differed between eyes receiving combined surgery and mere penetrating keratoplasty and in eyes with varied surgical indications (P=0.039, <0.01). Increased intraocular pressure (7 eyes, 13.7%) and persistent epithelial defects (7 eyes, 13.7%) were the most common postoperative complications, followed by complicated cataract (4 eyes, 7.8%) and posterior capsule opacification (2 eyes, 3.9%). Conclusions: The graft survival rate was satisfactory following pediatric keratoplasty although it had a tendency to decrease with the follow-up time. Corneal neovascularization was a major risk factor of graft failure. Surgical indications and procedures also had a certain effect on the graft survival.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a rare genetic disorder affecting bone and cartilage development. Clinical features of CCD comprise short stature, delayed ossification of craniofacial structures with numerous Wormian bones, underdeveloped or aplastic clavicles and multiple dental anomalies. Several studies have revealed that CCD development is strongly linked with different mutations in runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) gene. OBJECTIVE Identification and functional characterization of RUNX2 mutation associated with CCD. METHODS We performed genetic testing of a patient with CCD using whole exome sequencing and found a novel RUNX2 frameshift mutation: c.1550delT in a sporadic case. We also compared the functional activity of the mutant and wild-type RUNX2 through immunofluorescence microscopy and osteocalcin promoter luciferase assay. RESULTS We found a novel RUNX2 frameshift mutation, c.1550delT (p.Trp518Glyfs*60). Both mutant RUNX2 and wild-type RUNX2 protein were similarly confined in the nuclei. The novel mutation caused abrogative transactivation activity of RUNX2 on osteocalcin promoter. CONCLUSIONS We explored a novel RUNX2 deletion/frameshift mutation in a sporadic CCD patient. This finding suggests that the VWRPY domain may play a key role in RUNX2 transactivation ability.

Abstract
Hydrogen is regarded as the ultimate fuel and energy carrier with a high theoretical energy density and universality of sourcing. However, hydrogen is easy to leak and has a wide flammability range in air. For safely handling hydrogen, robust sensors are in high demand. Plasmonic hydrogen sensors (PHS) are attracting growing interest due to the advantages of high sensitivity, fast response speed, miniaturization, and high-degree of integration, etc. In this review, the mechanism and recent development (mainly after the year 2015) of hydrogen sensors based on plasmonic nanostructures are presented. The working principle of PHS is introduced. The sensing properties and the effects of resonance mode, configuration, material, and structure of the plasmonic nanostructures on the sensing performances are discussed. The merit and demerit of different types of plasmonic nanostructures are summarized and potential development directions are proposed. The aim of this review is not only to clarify the current strategies for PHS, but also to give a comprehensive understanding of the working principle of PHS, which may inspire more ingenious designs and execution of plasmonics for advanced hydrogen sensors.

Abstract
Isoflurane (ISO) has been widely used in clinical anesthesia, and exposure to ISO leads to cognitive dysfunction. Our paper aimed to investigate the effect of miR-128-3p on cognitive impairment, inflammation, and oxidative stress elicited by ISO anesthesia in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. The SD rats were treated with ISO to mimic the ISO-injured situation, and the concentration of miR-128-3p was quantified utilizing real-time PCR. The miR-128-3p's impacts in ISO-engendered rat models on the respects of inflammatory condition and oxidative activities were measured by the commercial kits. The Morris water maze test was adopted to measure the neuro-function regarding miR-128-3p. Additionally, the target was tested by the alternation of luciferase activity. The irritation of ISO suppressed miR-128-3p expression in rats, which was enhanced by the injection of miR-128-3p agomir. The adverse roles of ISO on inflammation, oxidative stress, and cognitive disorders were partially abrogated by an increment of miR-128-3p. A miR-128-3p's interconnection with specificity protein 1 (SP1) was pinpointed, and aggrandized mRNA levels of SP1 were found under ISO state. MiR-128 acted as a regulator in ISO damage in the respects of cognition, inflammation, and oxidative stress. The SP1's link of miR-128-3p was showcased.

Abstract
Abstract
The effects of eating fresh citrus fruits including two varieties of mandarins, one of sweet oranges, one of grapefruit, two of pomelo, and one of kumquat cultivated in China on endogenous antioxidant enzymes were investigated by in vitro digestion and HepG2 cells. The correlations between enzyme activity and cell uptake of phytochemicals, and cellular antioxidant capacities were analyzed. The results showed that most of fresh citrus fruits increased the endogenous antioxidant activity. Bairoumiyou, Hongroumiyou, Ponkan, and Jinju after digestion significantly increased the activity of catalase (CAT) (P < 0.05). Hongroumiyou, Bairoumiyou, Ponkan navel orange, and Jinju after digestion significantly increased glutathione peroxidases (GPxs) activity (P < 0.05), while Huyou and Satsuma could not increase the activity of GPxs after digestion. Thioredoxin oxidoreductase (TrxR) activity was improved significantly by most of the digested whole citrus fruits except Ponkan (P < 0.05) and the one added whole citrus fruits had higher increase than added citrus fruits extracts. The results indicated that edible whole citrus fruits had similar effects as extracts on enzymes.

Abstract
Developing extra safety encryption technologies to prevent information leakage and combat fakes is in high demand but is challenging. Herein, we propose a "double lock" strategy based on both lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and upper critical solution temperature (UCST) polymer hydrogels for information camouflage and multilevel encryption. Two types of hydrogels were synthesized by the method of random copolymerization. The number of -CO-NH2 groups in the network structure of the hydrogels changed the enthalpic or entropic thermo-responsive hydrogels, and ultimately precisely controlled their phase transition temperature. The crosslink density of the polymer hydrogels governs the diffusion kinetics, resulting in a difference in the time for their color change. The combination of multiple LCST and UCST hydrogels in one label realized information encryption and dynamic information identification in the dimensions of both time and temperature. This work is highly interesting for the fields of information encryption, anti-counterfeiting, and smart responsive materials.

Abstract
The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λ_{c}^{+}→nπ^{+} is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of 7.3σ by using 3.9 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.612 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The branching fraction of Λ_{c}^{+}→nπ^{+} is measured to be (6.6±1.2_{stat}±0.4_{syst})×10^{-4}. By taking the upper limit of branching fractions of Λ_{c}^{+}→pπ^{0} from the Belle experiment, the ratio of branching fractions between Λ_{c}^{+}→nπ^{+} and Λ_{c}^{+}→pπ^{0} is calculated to be larger than 7.2 at the 90% confidence level, which disagrees with most predictions of the available phenomenological models. In addition, the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-favored decays Λ_{c}^{+}→Λπ^{+} and Λ_{c}^{+}→Σ^{0}π^{+} are measured to be (1.31±0.08_{stat}±0.05_{syst})×10^{-2} and (1.22±0.08_{stat}±0.07_{syst})×10^{-2}, respectively, which are consistent with previous results.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the accuracy of photogrammetry and conventional impression techniques for complete-arch implant rehabilitation. Methods: An edentulous maxillary stone cast containing 8 screw-retained implant abutment replicas was derived from a 74-year-old male patient who visited the Department of Dental Implant Center, Capital Medical University School of Stomatology in September 2019. The stone cast was copied through the open-tray splinted impression, and the copied cast was used as the master cast for this study. The abutment-level impressions of master cast were made by photogrammetry (PG) and the conventional impression technique (CNV) by one attending doctor. Group PG: after which scan bodies were connected to each implant replica, a photogrammetry system was used to obtain digital impressions of the master cast (n=10); Group CNV: conventional open-tray splinted impression technique was performed to fabricate conventional definitive casts (n=10). After connecting the scan bodies onto each implant replicas, the master cast and the 10 definitive casts from group CNV were digitized with a laboratory reference scanner. All data of group PG, group CNV and mater cast were saved as ".stl" files. For all test scans and reference scan, the three-dimensional information of scan bodies were converted to implant abutment replicas using a computer aided design software (Exocad). The data of the group PG and the group CNV were respectively registered with the reference data (trueness analysis) and pairwise within group (precision analysis) for accuracy evaluation in a three-dimensional analysis software (Geomagic Control X). Results: The trueness and precision of group PG [(17.33±0.34) and (2.50±0.79) μm ] were significantly statistically better than those of group CNV [(24.30±4.16) and (26.12±4.54) μm] respectively (t=-5.29 and -34.35, P<0.001). Conclusions: For complete-arch implant abutment-level impression, photogrammetry produces significantly better accuracy than conventional impression technique.

Abstract
The long intergenic non-coding RNA linc01133 is reported to be oncogenic in various malignancies. However, the role and mechanism of linc01133 in regulating gastric cancer growth is still not clear. In the present study, we found that linc01133 was significantly upregulated in gastric cancer tissues compared to non-tumorous gastric tissues. Linc01133 over-expression significantly correlated with tumor size and tumor differentiation in gastric cancer patients. The expression of linc01133 was regulated by c-Jun and c-Fos collaboratively. In both in vitro and in vivo studies, linc01133 was shown to promote gastric cancer cell growth. Linc01133 localized in the cytoplasm and functioned as an endogenous competing RNA of miR-145-5p to upregulate the expression of YES1, which was proved to be the target gene of miR-145-5p. By promoting YES1-dependent YAP1 nuclear translocation, linc01133 upregulated the expression of the key cell cycle regulators CDK4, CDK6 and cyclin D1 to promote G1-S phase transition. Thus, our study unveiled the function and mechanism of linc01133 regulating cell cycle progression in gastric cancer.

Abstract
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^{-1} collected at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector, the decay D^{0}→ωϕ is observed for the first time. The branching fraction is measured to be (6.48±0.96±0.40)×10^{-4} with a significance of 6.3σ, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. An angular analysis reveals that the ϕ and ω mesons from the D^{0}→ωϕ decay are transversely polarized. The 95% confidence level upper limit on longitudinal polarization fraction is set to be less than 0.24, which is inconsistent with current theoretical expectations and challenges our understanding of the underlying dynamics in charm meson decays.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Several studies have documented that dietary fiber was inversely associated with a variety of diseases, but the association of dietary fiber with the prognosis of older adults with hypertension is unknown. The aim was to assess the association of dietary fiber with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in older adults with hypertension. METHODS This study enrolled 4906 participants (51.6% were female) aged 65 years or older with hypertension in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2003-2014 and ascertained mortality through December 31, 2015. Dietary fiber intake data were assessed by using a 24-h recall survey. Participants were grouped by dietary fiber intake quartiles: Q1(fiber < 10.20, g/day), Q2 (10.20 ≤ fiber < 14.45, g/day), Q3 (14.45 ≤ fiber < 19.85, g/day), and Q4 (19.85 ≤ fiber, g/day). Multivariate Cox proportional hazard models were used to evaluate the associations of dietary fiber intake with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. Kaplan-Meier survival curves and restricted cubic spline models were applied to reveal the relationship between dietary fiber intake and mortality. RESULTS Over the median follow-up duration of 70 months (interquartile range: 38-100 months), 1369 participants were determined as all-cause mortality (27.9%) and 270 participants were identified as cardiovascular mortality (5.5%). In the fully adjusted model, the higher dietary fiber intake group was associated with relatively lower all-cause (Q4 vs Q1: 0.68 (0.58, 0.80); P for trend <0.001) and cardiovascular mortality (Q4 vs Q1: 0.64 (0.45, 0.92); P for trend =0.010). The non-linear relationship was not observed between dietary fiber intake and all-cause or cardiovascular mortality. CONCLUSIONS Higher dietary fiber intake was significantly associated with decreased all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in older adults with hypertension. Increasing dietary fiber intake may improve the prognosis of older adults with hypertension.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Post-operative recognition dysfunction (POCD) is a kind of central nervous system complication that appears after operative anesthesia. Recent studies on the mechanism of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in neurodegenerative diseases are abundant. AIMS The study aimed to explore the expression pattern and role of lncRNA OIP5-AS1 in POCD and to investigate its underlying mechanism in old rats. METHODS The old rats were exposed to isoflurane to mimic the POCD in the elderly, and their cognitive function was tested via Morris water maze (MWM) test. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was applied for the concentration detection of inflammation and oxidative stress-related factors. Luciferase reporter assay was done for the target gene analysis. RESULTS Downregulation of OIP5-AS1 was accompanied by isoflurane treatment in rats, overexpression of OIP5-AS1 induced the rats to spend more time in the target quadrant, and shorten escape latency time. OIP5-AS1 inhibited the release of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β, GSH and superoxide dismutase, decreased the activation of caspase-3, but promoted malondialdehyde release. miR-186-5p was a target miRNA of OIP5-AS1, and exhibited high expression in rats after isoflurane exposure. miR-186-5p can abolish the beneficial role of OIP5-AS1 against cognitive impairment, inflammatory response, oxidative stress and neuron apoptosis. CONCLUSION OIP5-AS1 plays a neuroprotective role in elderly POCD rats through sponging miR-186-5p, and it is related to OIP5-AS1/miR-186-5p mediated inflammatory response, oxidative stress and neuron apoptosis.

Abstract
Background Drug resistance remains a serious challenge to rituximab therapy in B-NHL (B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma). CDC (complement-dependent cytotoxicity) has been proposed as a major antitumor mechanism of rituximab, and direct abrogation of CD59 function partially restores rituximab sensitivity with high efficacy. However, universal blockade of CD59 may have deleterious effects on normal cells. Sp1 regulates constitutive CD59 expression, whereas NF-κB and CREB regulate inducible CD59 expression. Methods Immunohistochemistry (IHC) assay was used to detect the expression levels of CD59 and other related molecules. Quantitative Real-time PCR (RT-PCR) analysis was used to explore the levels of transcripts in the original and resistant cells. We chose LY8 cells to test the effects of NF-κB and CBP/p300 inhibition on CD59 expression using flow cytometry (FACS). Immunoblotting analysis was employed to detect the effects of curcumin and POH. The in vitro and in vivo experiments were used to evaluate the toxicity and combined inhibitory effect on tumor cells of curcumin and POH. Results We demonstrated that herbal (curcumin and perillyl alcohol) blockade of NF-κB specifically suppresses the expression of inducible CD59 but not CD20, thus sensitizing resistant cells to rituximab-mediated CDC. Moreover, activation of NF-κB and CREB is highly correlated with CD59 expression in B-NHL tissues. Conclusions Our findings suggest the potential of CD59 expression as a predictor of therapeutic efficacy of NF-κB inhibitors in clinical application as well as the rationality of a NF-κB inhibitor-rituximab regimen in B-NHL therapy.

Abstract
Background Cortisol-producing adrenocortical adenoma (CPA) during pregnancy rarely occurs in clinic. Growing evidence suggests that DNA methylation plays a key role in adrenocortical adenomas. The present study aims to examine the genome-wide DNA methylation profiles and identify the differences in DNA methylation signatures of non-pregnant and pregnant patients with CPA. Results Four pregnant and twelve non-pregnant patients with CPA were enrolled. The pregnant patients with CPA had higher serum cortisol, Estradiol, Progesterone, and human chorionic gonadotropin concentration, while having lower serum FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and luteinizing hormone concentrations (P < 0.01). Compared with the non-pregnant patients, the duration is shorter, and the growth rate of the tumor is faster in pregnant patients with CPA (P < 0.05). Morphology and cell proliferation assay showed that the percentage of Ki-67 positive cells in CPA were higher in pregnant group than non-pregnant group (8.0% vs 5.5%, P < 0.05). The DNA methylation analysis showed that Genome-wide DNA methylation signature difference between pregnant and non-pregnant with CPA, that the pregnant group had more hypermethylated DMPs (67.94% vs 22.16%) and less hypomethylated DMPs (32.93% vs 77.84%). The proportion of hypermethylated DMPs was relatively high on chromosomes 1 (9.68% vs 8.67%) and X (4.99% vs 3.35%) but lower on chromosome 2(7.98% vs 12.92%). In pregnant patients with CPA, 576 hypomethylated DMPs and 1109 hypermethylated DMPs were identified in the DNA promoter region. Bioinformatics analysis indicated that the Wnt/β-Catenin pathway, Ras/MAPK Pathway and PI3K-AKT Pathway were associated with the development of CPA during pregnancy. Conclusions Genome-wide DNA methylation profiling of CPA in non-pregnant and pregnant patients was identified in the present study. Alterations of DNA methylation were associated with the pathogenesis and exacerbation of CPA during pregnancy. Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a strong risk tfactor for osteosarcopenia. The relationship between musculoskeletal index and β-cell function remains controversial. We aimed to describe the clinical characteristics of osteosarcopenia and to explore the association between osteosarcopenia and β-cell function, as well as insulin resistance in patients with T2DM. A total of 150 middle-aged and older nonobese patients with T2DM were recruited. Bone mineral density (BMD) and body composition were measured by the dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scanner. The homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance and Matsuda index were used to evaluate insulin resistance status. β-Cell function was estimated by the area under the curve insulin/glucose (AUC-Ins/Glu) and the area under the curve C-peptide/glucose (AUC-CP/Glu). T2DM patients with osteosarcopenia had lower body mass index, waist circumference, body fat percentage, AUC-Ins/Glu, and AUC-CP/Glu. Both AUC-Ins/Glu (OR = 0.634, P = 0.008) and AUC-CP/Glu (OR = 0.491, P = 0.009) were negatively associated with the presence of osteosarcopenia. Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that β-cell function was positively associated with the skeletal muscle mass index, whereas it showed no correlation with lumbar or hip BMD. β-Cell function is associated with osteosarcopenia in middle-aged and older nonobese patients with T2DM. These findings suggest that β-cell function might be a protective factor against osteosarcopenia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND α-cell dysregulation gives rise to fasting and postprandial hyperglycemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Administration of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) or their conditioned medium can improve islet function and enhance insulin secretion. However, studies showing the direct effect of MSCs on islet α-cell dysfunction are limited. METHODS In this study, we used high-fat diet (HFD)-induced mice and α-cell line exposure to palmitate (PA) to determine the effects of bone marrow-derived MSC-conditioned medium (bmMSC-CM) on glucagon secretion. Plasma and supernatant glucagon were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). To investigate the potential signaling pathways, phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN), AKT and phosphorylated AKT(p-AKT) were assessed by Western blotting. RESULTS In vivo, bmMSC-CM infusion improved the glucose and insulin tolerance and protected against HFD-induced hyperglycemia and hyperglucagonemia. Meanwhile, bmMSC-CM infusion ameliorated HFD-induced islet hypertrophy and decreased α- and β-cell area. Consistently, in vitro, glucagon secretion from α-cells or primary islets was inhibited by bmMSC-CM, accompanied by reduction of intracellular PTEN expression and restoration of AKT signaling. Previous studies and the TargetScan database indicate that miR-181a and its target PTEN play vital roles in ameliorating α-cell dysfunction. We observed that miR-181a-5p was highly expressed in BM-MSCs but prominently lower in αTC1-6 cells. Overexpression or downregulation of miR-181a-5p respectively alleviated or aggravated glucagon secretion in αTC1-6 cells via the PTEN/AKT signaling pathway. CONCLUSIONS Our observations suggest that MSC-derived miR-181a-5p mitigates glucagon secretion of α-cells by regulating PTEN/AKT signaling, which provides novel evidence demonstrating the potential for MSCs in treating T2DM.

Abstract
Using a dataset of 6.32 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4178 and 4226 MeV, we have measured the absolute branching fraction of the leptonic decay D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ} via τ^{+}→e^{+}ν_{e}ν[over ¯]_{τ}, and find B_{D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ}}=(5.27±0.10±0.12)×10^{-2}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The precision is improved by a factor of 2 compared to the previous best measurement. Combining with f_{D_{s}^{+}} from lattice quantum chromodynamics calculations or the |V_{cs}| from the CKMfitter group, we extract |V_{cs}|=0.978±0.009±0.012 and f_{D_{s}^{+}}=(251.1±2.4±3.0) MeV, respectively. Combining our result with the world averages of B_{D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ}} and B_{D_{s}^{+}→μ^{+}ν_{μ}}, we obtain the ratio of the branching fractions B_{D_{s}^{+}→τ^{+}ν_{τ}}/B_{D_{s}^{+}→μ^{+}ν_{μ}}=9.72±0.37, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality.

Abstract
Using 2.93 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data taken with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, the observation of the D^{0}→K_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} semileptonic decay is presented. The statistical significance of the decay D^{0}→K_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is greater than 10σ. The branching fraction of D^{0}→K_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is measured to be (1.09±0.13_{-0.16}^{+0.09}±0.12)×10^{-3}. Here, the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third originates from the assumed branching fraction of K_{1}(1270)^{-}→K^{-}π^{+}π^{-}. The fraction of longitudinal polarization in D^{0}→K_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is determined for the first time to be 0.50±0.19_{stat}±0.08_{syst}.

Abstract
The absolute branching fraction of Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} is reported for the first time based on an e^{+}e^{-} annihilation sample of 10×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at sqrt[s]=3.097 GeV. The branching fraction is determined to be B(Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ})=[1.48±0.21(stat)±0.08(syst)]×10^{-4}, which is improved by about 30% in precision over the previous indirect measurements. Combining this result with the world average of B(Λ→pe^{-}ν[over ¯]_{e}), we obtain the ratio {[Γ(Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ})]/[Γ(Λ→pe^{-}ν[over ¯]_{e})]} to be 0.178±0.028, which agrees with the standard model prediction assuming lepton flavor universality. The asymmetry of the branching fractions of Λ→pμ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{μ} and Λ[over ¯]→p[over ¯]μ^{+}ν_{μ} is also determined, and no evidence for CP violation is found.

Phytophthora sojae apoplastic effector AEP1 mediates sugar uptake by mutarotation of extracellular aldose and is recognized as a MAMP. PLANT PHYSIOLOGY 2021; 187:321-335. Abstract
Diseases caused by Phytophthora pathogens devastate many crops worldwide. During infection, Phytophthora pathogens secrete effectors, which are central molecules for understanding the complex plant-Phytophthora interactions. In this study, we profiled the effector repertoire secreted by Phytophthora sojae into the soybean (Glycine max) apoplast during infection using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. A secreted aldose 1-epimerase (AEP1) was shown to induce cell death in Nicotiana benthamiana, as did the other two AEP1s from different Phytophthora species. AEP1 could also trigger immune responses in N. benthamiana, other Solanaceae plants, and Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). A glucose dehydrogenase assay revealed AEP1 encodes an active AEP1. The enzyme activity of AEP1 is dispensable for AEP1-triggered cell death and immune responses, while AEP-triggered immune signaling in N. benthamiana requires the central immune regulator BRASSINOSTEROID INSENSITIVE 1-associated receptor kinase 1. In addition, AEP1 acts as a virulence factor that mediates P. sojae extracellular sugar uptake by mutarotation of extracellular aldose from the α-anomer to the β-anomer. Taken together, these results revealed the function of a microbial apoplastic effector, highlighting the importance of extracellular sugar uptake for Phytophthora infection. To counteract, the key effector for sugar conversion can be recognized by the plant membrane receptor complex to activate plant immunity.

Tungsten Oxide/Reduced Graphene Oxide Aerogel with Low-Content Platinum as High-Performance Electrocatalyst for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction. Abstract
Designing cost-effective, highly active, and durable platinum (Pt)-based electrocatalysts is a crucial endeavor in electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, the low-content Pt (0.8 wt%)/tungsten oxide/reduced graphene oxide aerogel (LPWGA) electrocatalyst with excellent HER activity and durability is developed by employing a tungsten oxide/reduced graphene oxide aerogel (WGA) obtained from a facile solvothermal process as a support, followed by electrochemical deposition of Pt nanoparticles. The WGA support with abundant oxygen vacancies and hierarchical pores plays the roles of anchoring the Pt nanoparticles, supplying continuous mass transport and electron transfer channels, and modulating the surface electronic state of Pt, which endow the LPWGA with both high HER activity and durability. Even under a low loading of 0.81 μgPt cm-2 , the LPWGA exhibits a high HER activity with an overpotential of 42 mV at 10 mA cm-2 , an excellent stability under 10000-cycle cyclic voltammetry and 40 h chronopotentiometry at 10 mA cm-2 , a low Tafel slope (30 mV dec-1 ), and a high turnover frequency of 29.05 s-1 at η = 50 mV, which is much superior to the commercial Pt/C and the low-content Pt/reduced graphene oxide aerogel. This work provides a new strategy to design high-performance Pt-based electrocatalysts with greatly reduced use of Pt.
