Abstract
Background: Stem cell therapy of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is proving to be a promising approach to repair the injured myocardia. The time window for stem cell transplantation is crucial yet difficult to determine since it produces different therapeutic effects at different times after myocardial infarction. Stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF- 1) plays a pivotal role in the mobilization, homing, proliferation, and differentiation of transplanted stem cells. Here, by using ultrasound molecular imaging via targeted microbubbles, we determined the dynamic expression of SDF-1 in a swine model of AMI in vivo. Methods: Twenty-four miniswine were randomly selected for the control group and the AMI model group, which underwent ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD). The AMI animals were randomly divided into six experimental groups according to the duration of the myocardial infarction. All animals were subjected to ultrasound molecular imaging through injections with targeted microbubbles (T + T group) or nontargeted control microbubbles (T + C group). The values of the myocardial perfusion parameters (A, β, and A × β) were determined using Q-Lab (Philips ultrasound, version 9.0), and the expression level of SDF-1 was analyzed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Results: Our results showed that the expression of SDF-1 gradually increased and peaked at 1 week after AMI. The trend is well reflected by ultrasound molecular imaging in the myocardial perfusion parameters. The A, β, and A × β values correlated with SDF-1 in the T + T group (r = 0.887, 0.892, and 0.942; P < 0.05). Regression equations were established for the relationships of the A, β, and A × β values (X) with SDF-1 (Y): Y = 0.699X - 0.6048, Y = 0.4698X + 0.3282, and Y = 0.0945X + 0.6685, respectively (R 2 = 0.772, 0.7957, and 0.8871; P < 0.05). Conclusions: Our finding demonstrated that ultrasound molecular imaging could be used to evaluate the expression dynamics of SDF-1 after AMI.

Abstract
Metal-catalyzed β-C-H functionalization of saturated carbonyls via dehydrogenative desaturation proved to be a powerful tool for simplifying synthesis of valuable β-substituted carbonyls. Here, we report a copper-catalyzed dehydrogenative γ-C(sp3)-H amination of saturated ketones that initiates the three-component coupling of saturated ketones, amines and N-substituted maleimides to construct polysubstituted anilines. The protocol presented herein enables both linear and α-branched butanones to couple a wide spectrum of amines and various N-substituted maleimides to produce diverse tetra- or penta-substituted anilines in fair-to-excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. The mechanism studies support that this ketone dehydrogenative γ-C(sp3)-H amination was triggered by the ketone α,β-dehydrogenation desaturation that activates the adjacent γ-C(sp3)-H bond towards functionalization. This α,β-dehydrogenation desaturation-triggered cascade sequence opens up a new avenue to the remote C(sp3)-H functionalization of saturated ketones and has the potential to enable the rapid syntheses of complex compounds from simple starting materials.

Abstract
By solving the Schrödinger equation in spatial and temporal coordinates, the exact solution of the chirped Airy-Gaussian (CAiG) wave packets in a gradient-index medium is obtained. Based on that, we conduct a theoretical analysis about the properties of CAiG wave packets and discover that the chirp factor, the distribution factor, the initial velocity, as well as the propagation distance have an effect on the wave packets in both the propagation process and the spatiotemporal profiles. Among these, the Gaussian distribution factor, which is first added to the initial pulses, also alters the peculiarities of the Airy-Gaussian beams in the temporal domain and spatial domain. In addition, the investigation about the radiation force illuminates certain evolution properties of the CAiG wave packets well.

Abstract
In this work, three different morphologies of ZnSe/N-doped carbon (NC) composites are synthesized using ZIF-8 by a facile calcination process. By adjusting the particle size of precursor ZIF-8, the morphology and size of the product ZnSe/NC can be controlled. The as-prepared ZnSe/NC composites show excellent cyclic stability and rate capability as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Especially, the as-obtained ZnSe/NC-300 exhibits reversible discharge capacity of 724.4 mAh g-1 after 500 cycles at 1 A g-1. The introduction of N-doped carbon can significantly improve the conductivity of ZnSe and promotes the transfer of electrons. And mesoporous structure is conducive to the penetration of electrolyte in active materials, increases the contact area, and alleviates the volume expansion during the charge-discharge process. Thus, ZnSe/NC composites provide a new insight into the development of anode materials for next-generation high-performance LIBs.

Abstract
Background Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) and pulmonary hypertension (PHT) are highly dynamic cardiovascular lesions that may progress rapidly, particularly in the orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) waitlist population. Severe TR and PHT are associated with poor outcomes in these patients, however it is rare for the two to be newly diagnosed intraoperatively at the time of OLT. Without preoperative information on pulmonary vascular and right heart function, the potential for reversibility of severe TR and PHT is unclear, making the decision to proceed to transplant fraught with difficulty. Case presentation We present a case of successful orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) in a 48 year old female with severe (PHT) (mean pulmonary arterial pressure > 55 mmHg) and severe TR diagnosed post induction of anaesthesia. The degree of TR was associated with systemic venous pressures of > 100 mmHg resulting in massive haemorrhage during surgery and difficulty in distinguishing venous from arterial placement of vascular access devices. Intraoperative transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) proved crucial in diagnosing functional TR due to tricuspid annular and right ventricular (RV) dilatation, and dynamically monitoring response to treatment. In response to positioning, judicious volatile anaesthesia administration, pulmonary vasodilator therapy and permissive hypovolemia during surgery we noted substantial improvement of the TR and pulmonary arterial pressures, confirming the reversibility of the TR and associated PHT. Conclusion TR and PHT are co-dependent, dynamic, load sensitive right heart conditions that are interdependent with chronic liver disease, and may progress rapidly in patients waitlisted for OLT. Use of intraoperative TOE and pulmonary artery catheterisation on the day of surgery will detect previously undiagnosed severe TR and PHT, enable rapid assessment of the cause and the potential for reversibility. These dynamic monitors permit real-time assessment of the response to interventions or events affecting right ventricular (RV) preload and afterload, providing critical information for prognosis and management. Furthermore, we suggest that TR and PHT should be specifically sought when waitlisted OLT patients present with hepatic decompensation. Abstract
Graphene oxide (GO) possessing plenty of hydroxyls and carboxyls is often used in the field of biomedicine. To improve its water solubility and biocompatibility, 6-armed poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) was bonded on the surface of GO sheets via a facile amidation process to form the universal drug delivery platform (GO-PEG10K-6arm) with a 200 nm size in favor of the enhanced permeability and retention effect. Herein, we prepared the stable and biocompatible platform of GO-PEG10K-6arm under mild conditions and characterized the chemical structure and micromorphology via thermogravimetric analysis and atomic force microscopy. This nanosized GO-PEG10K-6arm was found to be of very low toxicity to human normal cells of 293T and tumor cells of CAL27, MG63, and HepG2. Moreover, oridonin and methotrexate (MTX), widely used hydrophobic cancer chemotherapy drugs, were compounded with GO-PEG10K-6arm via π-π stacking and hydrophobic interactions so as to afford nanocomplexes of oridonin@GO-PEG10K-6arm and MTX@GO-PEG10K-6arm, respectively. Both nanocomplexes could quickly enter into tumor cells, which was evidenced by inverted fluorescence microscopy using fluorescein isothiocyanate as a probe, and they both showed remarkably high cytotoxicity to the tumor cells of CAL27, MG63, and HepG2 within a broad range of concentration in comparison with free drugs. This kind of nanoscale drug delivery system based on GO-PEG10K-6arm may have potential applications in biomedicine, and GO-PEG10K-6arm would be a universal and available carrier for extensive hydrophobic anticarcinogens.

Abstract
BACKGROUND N-acetyltransferase 10 (NAT10) is considered as an oncogene in many tumors. This study investigated the NAT10 expression in Chinese acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients and evaluated the predictive significance of NAT10 with a single-center retrospective study. METHODS The Oncomine was used to analyze NAT10 expression in AML. We also collected bone marrow samples of 48 newly diagnosed AML patients and 20 benign individuals in our center. NAT10 mRNA expression levels were detected by real-time qPCR. Clinical data was obtained from inpatient medical records. RESULTS Two microarrays in Oncomine showed that NAT10 was upregulated in AML. Our data revealed that AML patients had higher NAT10 expression levels than the normal controls (P < 0.01). NPM1-mutant patients had higher NAT10 mRNA levels than NPM1-wt patients. NAT10 expression level was higher in nonremission group than in overall remission group (P < 0.05). High NAT10 expression indicated a poor progression-free survival and overall survival. CONCLUSIONS The results support NAT10 as a potential prognostic and therapeutic biomarker for AML.

Abstract
Preeclampsia is a common pregnancy complication which can have adverse impact on both mother and baby. In addition to the short term effects, a large body of epidemiological evidence has found preeclampsia can exert long-lasting effects on mother and offspring. Studies suggest that offspring exposed to preeclampsia are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological diseases, as well as other diseases. However, studies investigating the underlying mechanism are limited, the exact mechanism still remains unclear. In this study, we will review the epidemiological evidence and studies exploring the mechanism underlying long-term effects of preeclampsia on offspring. Further studies should be targeted at this field so as to implement effective clinical management to prevent the exposed offspring from potential diseases.

Abstract
Neural stem/progenitor cells (NSPCs) are a promising candidate for the cell-replacement therapy after central nervous system (CNS) injury. However, the short of sufficient NSPCs migration and integration into the lesions is an essential challenge for cell-based therapy after CNS injury due to the disturbance of local environmental homeostasis. Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG) is obviously accumulated at the lesions and destroyed local homeostasis after CNS injury. The previous study has demonstrated that the CSPG is a dominating ingredient inhibiting axonal regrowth of newly born neurons after CNS injury. NSPCs, a strain of special neural subtypes, hold the capacity of leading processes formation to regulate NSPCs migration, which has the same mechanism as axonal regrowth. Hence, it is worth investigating the effect of CSPG on NSPCs migration and its underlying mechanism. Here, different concentration of CSPG was used to evaluate its effect on NSPCs migration. The results showed that the CSPG suppressed NSPCs migration in a dose-dependent manner from 10 to 80 µg/mL with phase-contrast microscopy after 24 hours. Meanwhile, transwell assays were performed to certify the above results. Our data indicated that the 40 µg/mL CSPG obviously suppressed NSPCs migration via decreasing filopodia formation using immunofluorescence staining. Furthermore, data indicated that the 40 µg/mL CSPG upregulated protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor σ (PTPσ) expression and decreased α-actinin4 (ACTN4) expression through immunofluorescence, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, and Western blot assays. While the inhibitory effect was attenuated using PTPσ-specific small interfering RNA. In addition, data demonstrated that the 40 µg/mL CSPG facilitated NSPCs differentiation into glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive cells and inhibited NSPCs directing into MAP2- and MBP-positive cells. Collectively, these data demonstrated that the CSPG suppressed NSPCs migration through PTPσ/ACTN4 signaling pathway. Meanwhile, CSPG facilitated NSPCs differentiation into astrocytes and inhibited NSPCs directing into neurons and oligodendrocytes.

Abstract
Abstract
YIV-906 (PHY906) is inspired by a traditional 1800-year Chinese herbal formulation, “Huang Qin Tang”, which is commonly used for treating diarrhea. Following chemotherapy and radiation, preclinical and clinical results suggest that YIV-906 has the potential to improve the patient’s quality of life and prolonging survival. Consistent preparations of PHY906 could be manufactured apart 15 years. The effects of YIV-906 were studied on the anti-tumor activity of anti-PD1 using BDF1 mice bearing Hepa 1-6 tumors. Results indicated that anti-PD1 alone had moderate effects on tumor growth however YIV-906 plus anti-PD1 eradicated all tumors in all tumor bearing mice. Further re-implantation of Hepa 1-6 cells did not grow in the “cured” mice, but implanted CMT167 (non-small lung carcinoma) cells or Pan02 (Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma) cells did grow; suggesting that YIV-906 plus anti-PD1 created a tumor-specific vaccine-like effect. The combination treatment exhibited a highly inflamed tumor microenvironment with more M1-like macrophage expression over M2. In culture YIV-906 could potentiate the action of IFNg (interferon gamma) to polarize bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM) into M1 macrophages while inhibiting IL4 action for M2 macrophage polarization. YIV-906 potentiated IFNg action through: 1) stimulating IFNg secretion, 2) phosphorylation of JAK1/2 and STAT1 and 3) increasing IRF1 protein expression. Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (S) and its flavonoids of YIV-906 were responsible for potentiate the IFNg to polarize macrophage into M1. In conclusion, YIV-906 enhanced the anti-tumor activity of anti-PD1 by enhancing inflammation in the tumor microenvironment and enriching M1-like macrophages. Abstract
Absent in melanoma 2 (AIM2) is a critical component in natural immunity system and is closely related to cancer initiation and development. It has been shown that AIM2 inhibited colorectal cancer (CRC) development and cell proliferation. It remains unresolved how AIM2 acts on CRC metastasis. In this study, we assessed migration, invasion ability, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) program upon AIM2 overexpression or knockdown in human CRC cells. Transwell assay demonstrated that upregulation of AIM2 reduced cell migration and invasion. Epithelial marker E-cadherin was augmented and mesenchymal markers vimentin, as well as Snail, were examined decreased by Western blot, real-time polymerase chain reaction, and immunofluorescence. Correspondingly, knockdown of AIM2 led to a reverse consequence. In addition, AIM2 regulated Akt phosphorylation and effects of AIM2 on cell invasion and EMT were recovered after administration of Akt inhibitor, suggesting that AIM2 suppressed EMT dependent on Akt pathway. In addition, caspase-1 inhibitor exposure indicated that AIM2 abrogated EMT through the inflammasome pathway as well. In summary, AIM2 suppressed EMT via Akt and inflammasome pathways in human CRC cells.

Abstract
Objectives To investigate the relationship between coronary artery calcification and calcium deposition in cardiomyocytes. Methods Patients who underwent valve replacement plus surgical ablation for atrial fibrillation, together with left atrial appendage resection, were included. Coronary artery calcification (CAC) score was evaluated prior to surgery using dual-source computed tomography. Samples of left atrial appendage tissue were collected to analyse the following indicators: calcium deposition, alkaline phosphatase activity, calcium content, protein levels of runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), osteopontin and β-catenin, and mRNA levels of osteopontin, endothelin and ghrelin. Relationships between CAC score and various indicators were analysed by univariate logistic or linear regression. Results Out of tissue from eight patients, CAC score was not correlated with cardiomyocyte calcification (odds ratio [OR] 0.984 and OR 0.983; von Kossa or alizarin red staining, respectively). CAC score showed an inverse linear correlation with Runx2 protein (β = –0.75), but was not correlated with osteopontin (β = –0.52) or β-catenin protein (β = –0.56), mRNA levels of osteopontin, endothelin and ghrelin (β = 0.13, 0.02, and 0.02, respectively), alkaline phosphatase activity (β = 0.56), or calcium content (β = –0.22). Conclusions Coronary artery calcification was not correlated with calcium deposition in cardiomyocytes.

Abstract
Background Haemorrhagic stroke accounts for approximately 31.52% of all stroke cases, and the most common origin is hypertension. However, little is known about the method to identify high-risk populations of hypertensive intracerebral haemorrhage. Results The results showed that the angle between the middle cerebral artery and the internal carotid artery (AMIC), the distance between the beginning of the median artery and superior trunk (DMS), and the density (CT value) of the lenticulostriate artery (CTL) were statistically significant enough to cause intracerebral haemorrhage. In addition, we chose these three potential features for the ensemble learning classification model. Our developed ensemble-learning method outperforms not only previous work but also three other classic classification methods based on accuracy measurements. Conclusions The developed mathematical model in the present study is efficient in predicting the probability of intracerebral haemorrhage. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Adverse pregnancy outcomes are related to two opposite maternal factors, youth and aging. However, the change in trend of specific outcomes with childbearing age is unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the changing trend of various maternal and neonatal outcomes with maternal age from 17 to 44 years. MATERIAL AND METHODS Data were extracted from the medical records from 2011-2012 of 39 public hospitals of 14 cities in China. The eligibility criteria were primiparity and singleton birth. Join point regression analysis was used to estimate the percent change per year of age (PCA) to explore the trends of adverse pregnancy outcomes with regard to maternal age and to identify the join point of maternal age when the trend was changed. RESULTS A total of 89 171 women were eligible for analysis. There were four categories of trend styles. Continuously increasing trends were linear for placenta previa (PCA, 0.1%), placenta implantation (PCA, 0.09%) and postpartum hemorrhage (PCA, 0.22%), and nonlinear for gestational diabetes mellitus with one join point of 23 years (PCA, 0.17% and 0.71%) and cesarean section with four join points of 25, 28, 31 and 36 years (PCA, 1.39%, 0.34%, 1.51%, 3.49% and 0.94%). Continuously decreasing trends were linear for intrahepatic cholestasis (PCA, -0.02%) and nonlinear for anemia with one join point of 28 years (PCA, -0.49% and -0.04%). The bidirective trends were downward to upward for preterm birth (PCA, -2.93%, -0.36% and 0.38%), hypertension in pregnancy (PCA, -0.09%, 0.47%), low birthweight (PCA 0.51% and 0.38%), low 1-minute Apgar score (PCA, -0.28% and 0.07%), low 5-minute Apgar score at (PCA, -0.10% and 0.06%) and neonatal intensive care unit admission (PCA, -1.92%, -0.07% and 0.12%) with a nadir age of 28 years. The bidirective trend was upward to downward for macrosomia (PCA, 0.39% and -0.11%), with a peak age of 30 years. CONCLUSIONS The changes in the trend of specific outcomes were different with maternal age, which means that youth, aging or both could affect the outcomes.

Abstract
Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a devastating disease that is characterized by high morbidity and high mortality. ICH has an annual incidence of 10-30/100,000 people and accounts for approximately 10%-30% of all types of stroke. ICH mostly occurs at the basal ganglia, which is rich in nerve fibers; thus, hemiplegia is quite common in ICH patients with partial sensory disturbance and ectopic blindness. In the clinic, those symptoms are considered to originate from the white matter injury in the area, but the exact mechanisms are unknown, and currently, no effective drug treatments are available to improve the prognosis. Clarifying the mechanisms will contribute to the development of new treatment methods for patients. The transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) channel is a non-selective cation channel that plays a role in inflammatory pain sensation and nociception and may be a potential regulator in emotion, cognition and social behavior. Here, we report that TRPA1 is involved in myelin damage and oxidative stress injury in a mouse ICH model. Intervention with the TRPA1 channel may be a new method to improve the motor function of patients in the early stage of ICH.

Abstract
Mono-layered h-BN and its derivatives are very important low-dimensional materials, which have been widely investigated so far. Here, we theoretically study the structural stability and magneto-electronic properties of oxygen (O) terminated zigzag-edged h-BN nanoribbons, especially focusing on strain tuning effects. The O dimerization at the B edge of the ribbon enhances the system stability greatly. A Poisson ratio of 0.2 and bearing a strain more than 20% can be reached. In the absence of strain, the O-terminated ribbon is a magnetic metal. However, the rich magnetic phase transitions among the non-magnetic metal, a spin gapless semiconductor, and a wide-gap half-metal can be realized continuously by applying strain in the ferromagnetic state. Thus, based on such a material feature, we can design a magnetic switch device which can work between the magnetic and non-magnetic states by strain modification. Also shown is that the magnetism stability can be enhanced to the level at room temperature upon strain, and the massless Dirac-fermion behavior for the β-spin state can be clearly detected in the spin gapless semiconductor phase under appropriate strains.
