Abstract
Hepatic angiomyolipoma was considered to be a rare benign tumor, but the number of cases has been increasing recently as imaging techniques improve. We describe a case of hepatic angiomyolipoma for which a definitive diagnosis could not be made on imagings and in which resection was performed. The patient had anti-HCV antibody and slight dysfunction of the liver. The tumor showed a heterogeneous high echo on ultrasonography and a low attenuation value of +32.6 Housfield Units, which was much higher than fat density, on plain computed tomography. Discrimination from hepatocellular carcinoma with fatty change was difficult preoperatively. Microscopically, the tumor consisted of spindle-shaped and epithelioid smooth muscles, adipose tissues and proliferating blood vessels and these histological findings confirmed the diagnosis of hepatic angiomyolipoma. The appearance of hepatic angiomyolipoma on imaging diagnosis varies widely due to the fact that the relative proportion of vessels, muscles and fats varies widely from tumor to tumor. The tumor in our case had relatively few fat components. We review 48 cases reported in Japan and discuss imaging diagnosis and surgical indications for tumors.

Abstract
Ubiquitin, an essential protein in nonlysosomal proteolytic system, is expressed after metabolic stress to the cell. The authors investigated stress response of ubiquitin in the hippocampus of the Mongolian gerbil after forebrain ischemia. The level of hippocampal ubiquitin was compared with that under ischemic tolerance induced by ischemic preconditioning. The authors also studied ubiquitin gene expression using in situ hybridization method. Transient ischemia resulted in consumption of free ubiquitin and an increase of multiubiquitin chains. These changes were transient in the hippocampus outside of the CA1 region where neurons survived, whereas it was persistent in the CA1 region where neurons were destined to die after ischemia. Under tolerant condition, subsequent ischemia provoked rapid recovery and further increase of free ubiquitin. The signal of ubiquitin messenger ribonucleic acid was continuously detected after ischemia, not only under tolerant conditions, but without tolerance induced by preconditioning. Thus, ubiquitin stress response takes place, at least at a transcriptional level, in dying CA1 neurons. Under tolerant conditions, however, subsequent ischemia in the CA1 region induces the stress response of ubiquitin up to the translational level, leading to the rapid restoration of protein synthesis and to eventual neuronal survival.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The clinical value of positron emission tomography (PET) for the diagnosis of local pelvic recurrence of colorectal cancer was evaluated. METHODS Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the pelvis were performed at regular intervals in 23 patients who had undergone resection for colorectal cancer. The 23 patients had a total of 25 lesions. PET images of the 25 lesions and of six primary lesions in patients with rectal cancer were obtained. A differential absorption ratio (DAR) was calculated in order to examine the accumulation of [18F]2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18FDG) on PET images. Histological diagnoses of the pelvic masses were obtained by CT-guided needle biopsy. RESULTS On CT or MRI, a pelvic mass with a spicular shape (n = 1) was non-recurrent, whereas a nodular or lumpy shape indicated a locally recurrent lesion (n = 10). Masses with a nodulospicular shape (n = 12) did not correlate with the histological features. On PET, 15 of 16 histologically proven local recurrences were imaged positively. By setting a DAR of 2.8 as a cut-off value, local recurrences could be diagnosed with 100 per cent accuracy. CONCLUSION PET is a clinically useful tool for the detection of local recurrence of colorectal cancer, particularly for distinguishing between recurrence and granulation tissues in the pelvic cavity.

Abstract
We sought to clarify the incidence, vessel-size and age distribution of periarteritis nodosa in rats occurring as a vascular lesion in malignant hypertension. Stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive and stroke-resistant spontaneously hypertensive rat strains were studied, as well as Wistar-Kyoto control rats. Mesenteric arteries and testicular arteries were examined histologically. Additionally, electron microscopy investigation was carried out on one stroke-prone hypertensive rat and one control. Periarteritis nodosa lesions were present in testicular arterioles in 57.1%, and mesenteric arteries in 28.6%, of stroke-prone hypertensive rats aged 9.5 mo. Lesion incidence at these sites was 100% and 60% respectively in 10 stroke-prone rats aged 15.5 mo, and 42.9% and 28.6% in stroke-resistant hypertensive rats aged 22.5 mo. In contrast, the incidence rate was 0% at both sites in stroke-resistant hypertensive rats aged 8 or 14.5 mo, and in control rats aged 9.5 or 25 mo. In stroke-prone rats, arteritis lesion counts (mean+/-SD) in testicular sections were 11.6+/-17 at age 9.5 mo and 96.3+/-60.9 at age 15.5 mo. In individual lesion scoring, arteritis was more severe in mesenteric arteries than in testicular arterioles. For arteriolar lesion distribution patterns in testicular sections, partial peripheral, partial peripheral plus central, and circumferential patterns were all noted. In conclusion, periarteritis nodosa in hypertensive stroke-prone rats occurs earlier in testicular arterioles, but attains greater severity in the mesenteric artery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ecabet sodium, a novel non-systemic anti-ulcer agent, possesses high affinity to gastric adherent mucus, which plays an important role in the protection of the gastric epithelium against acid and pepsin. AIM To assess the effect of ecabet on pepsin-induced degradation of the structure of the mucus gel layer. METHODS Everted sacs of rat stomach were incubated in HCl solution containing pepsin with or without ecabet. Pepsin-induced release of the cleaved peptides and hexosamine from the sacs was determined. Changes in the molecular size of glycoproteins in the adherent mucus (using gel filtration methods) and in the morphology of the epithelium (using both light and scanning electron microscopy) were also examined. RESULTS Ecabet reduced the pepsin-induced release of peptides and hexosamine, depending on its content in the adherent mucus. Pepsin treatment partially lowered the molecular weight of native glycoproteins in the adherent mucus, caused exfoliation of the epithelial cells, and degraded the network-like ultrastructure of the mucus layer, giving it a lumpy, globular appearance. Ecabet prevented both the pepsin-induced molecular size shift in mucus glycoproteins, and morphological alteration of the epithelium, including ultrastructural derangement of the mucus gel layer. CONCLUSION Ecabet protects the polymeric structure of mucus glycoproteins from proteolytic degradation by pepsin, and thus maintains integrity of the gastric mucus gel layer.

Abstract
Apoptosis plays a critical role in the development and homeostasis of tissues, especially those with high cell turnover such as the lymphoid system. We have examined the effects of thyroid hormones, TSH and TRH, on apoptosis of human T lymphocytes. We found that T lymphocytes cultured with T3 and T4, but not TSH nor TRH, in vitro showed enhanced apoptosis, evidenced by DNA ladder formation and characteristic morphological changes. In addition, prolonged cultivation with thyroid hormones of the lymphocytes further enhanced the extent of apoptosis. We also found that treatment with thyroid hormones of T lymphocytes induced reduction of mitochondrial transmembrane potential (delta psi) and production of reactive oxygen species, both of which are intimately associated with apoptotic cell death. In addition, cellular expression of antiapoptotic Bcl-2 protein was clearly reduced by the treatment of lymphocytes with thyroid hormones in vitro. Thus, T lymphocytes treated with thyroid hormones accompany reduction of Bcl-2 protein expression, production of reactive oxygen species, and reduction of mitochondrial delta psi, resulting in apoptotic lymphocyte death. Moreover, we found that lymphocytes in patients with Graves' disease showed enhanced apoptosis compared with those in normal individuals. These results suggest that thyroid hormones have the potential to induce apoptotic cell death of human lymphocytes in vivo and in vitro.

Abstract
The effects of low concentrations of deoxynivalenol (DON) on structural and functional characteristics of human colonic adenocarcinoma cell lines Caco-2 and T84 were examined. Scanning electron microscopic (SEM) analysis of the apical surfaces of Caco-2 cells revealed reduction or abnormal formation of brush borders in the presence of 50, 100 and 200 ng/ml of DON. Monolayer integrity of Caco-2 and T84 cells was studied using cells which were cultured on permeable membranes. The transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) of Caco-2 cells was significantly reduced at 50, 100 and 200 ng/ml of DON, significant increase in lucifer yellow (LY) permeability was also observed in these cells at 100 ng/ml of DON. The TEER of T84 cells was significantly reduced at 100 and 200 ng/ml of DON. LY permeability significantly increased at 200 ng/ml of DON in T84 cells. Enzyme activities in Caco-2 cells were also examined. Alkaline phosphatase activity was reduced from the 6th to 15th day of culture in the presence of 100 or 200 ng/ml of DON, whereas sucrase-isomaltase activity was significantly decreased by adding 50 or 100 ng/ml of DON for 15 or 20 days. Protein content was attenuated only by treatment with 200 ng/ml of DON throughout the experimental period. The results indicate that DON interferes with structural and functional characteristics of differentiation in enterocytes at low doses.

Abstract
We describe three cases of nephrotic syndrome with a contra-indication for steroid therapy successfully treated with cyclosporin A (CsA). A 21-year-old man with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) complicated by necrosis of the femoral head, and a 34-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man with minimal change disease (MCD) complicated by psychogenic reaction and diabetes mellitus, respectively, were given CsA at initial dosages of 3.8-5.0 mg/kg/day and immediately remitted completely. However, two of these patients suffered relapses when CsA was tapered. They are currently maintained in complete or partial remission on CsA at dosages of 3.2-4.7 mg/kg/day. These findings suggest that CsA mono-therapy may be useful in nephrotic syndrome patients contra-indicated for steroid therapy.

Abstract
Myristoylated alanine-rich C kinase substrate (MARCKS) is a widely distributed specific protein kinase C (PKC) substrate and has been implicated in membrane trafficking, cell motility, secretion, cell cycle, and transformation. We found that amyloid beta protein (A beta) (25-35) and A beta (1-40) phosphorylate MARCKS in primary cultured rat microglia. Treatment of microglia with A beta (25-35) at 10 nM or 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol 13-acetate (1.6 nM) led to phosphorylation of MARCKS, an event inhibited by PKC inhibitors, staurosporine, calphostin C, and chelerythrine. The A beta (25-35)-induced phosphorylation of MARCKS was inhibited by pretreatment with the tyrosine kinase inhibitors genistein and herbimycin A, but not with pertussis toxin. PKC isoforms alpha, delta, and epsilon were identified in microglia by immunocytochemistry and western blots using isoform-specific antibodies. PKC-delta was tyrosine-phosphorylated by the treatment of microglia for 10 min with A beta (25-35) at 10 nM. Other PKC isoforms alpha and epsilon were tyrosine-phosphorylated by A beta (25-35), but only to a small extent. We propose that a tyrosine kinase-activated PKC pathway is involved in the A beta (25-35)-induced phosphorylation of MARCKS in rat microglia.

Abstract
This study sought to experimentally clarify time-dependent, differential microglial activation at various spinal cord locations in response to injury. The spinal cords of Wistar rats were either sharply transected at the Th 11 or subjected to compression at the same site. Immediately to 4 weeks after injury, each spinal cord was fixed and cut into longitudinal frozen sections, and was immunostained with OX42 for resident and activated microglia, OX-6 for activated microglia, GFAP for activated astrocytes, and biotinylated BS-I, a lectin for both resident and activated microglia. From three to 24 hours after injury, we observed a narrow belt around the transection site in which OX42 positive microglia were dramatically reduced in number, or often absent. BS-I labeling of the zone disclosed the rapid transformation of those microglia possessing typical antler-like processes to macrophage-like cells. At day 1 and thereafter, the zone of reduced OX42 immunoreactivity was gradually replaced by macrophage-like OX42-positive round cells, and the lesion itself was ultimately capped by fibrogliotic scar tissue. By 2-4 weeks postinjury, another phase of microglial activation was observed in those white matter tracts undergoing Wallerian degeneration. These microglia characterized by the presence of newly-expressed MHC class II antigens. We posit that the decreased OX42 immunoreactivity suggests that CR3 is quickly saturated by activated iC3b and internalized, but not down-regulated. The trigger for this transformation most likely occurs through signaling by iC3b-saturated CR3. In contrast, microglia activation along those degenerating tracts undergoing Wallerian degeneration does not appear to be CR3-related, as the CR3 is upregulated. These observations indicate microglia have at least two different spatial and temporal patterns of activation. One is rapid and most likely involves the blood-borne complement activating system. The other accompanies Wallerian degeneration and is independent of the blood-borne complement system.

Abstract
PURPOSE Nitric oxide (NO) plays a critical role as both a cell signaling molecule and as a cytotoxic/cytostatic mediator. Nitric oxide synthase (NOS) present in macrophages and neutrophils produces NO in response to immune stimulation. We evaluated NO production in both bladder tissue and urine from patients with transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder. MATERIALS AND METHODS Inducible NOS (iNOS) RNA and protein were evaluated in bladder tissue from patients with and without TCC. Human iNOS-RNA products were identified with the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Western blot analysis using a polyclonal antibody directed against iNOS recognized immunoreactive iNOS protein. Using the same iNOS antibody, the distribution of iNOS was examined in formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded samples of various grades of TCC. NOS activity was measured in the urine particulate fraction from patients with TCC and from controls by the conversion of [14C]-L-arginine to [14C]-L-citrulline. RESULTS Inducible NOS-RNA products and iNOS specific proteins were found in bladder tissue that contained TCC but not in control bladder tissue. Inducible NOS was uniformly localized in inflammatory cells within the carcinomas. Scattered tumor cells expressed iNOS in 8 of 12 specimens. There was no clear relationship between tumor immunoreactivity and tumor grade. NOS activity in urine from patients with TCC was not significantly elevated or decreased in comparison with control urine. CONCLUSIONS Inducible NOS is expressed by cells comprising and surrounding human bladder tumors. It is primarily localized to inflammatory cells, but also is demonstrated within individual tumor cells.

Abstract
We have previously shown that oral immunization with non-replicating antigens hardly induced serum IgG antibody response in chickens and addition of sodium fluoride (NaF) to the immunogen markedly improved their immunological states. In the present study, taurine, lithium and Quillaja saponin (Q-SAP) were compared with NaF with respect to their enhancement of serum IgG antibody response in chickens after oral immunization. The antibody titer of chickens which received Q-SAP as the mucosal adjuvant tended to be higher than that of chickens which received antigen plus NaF. Simultaneous administration of antigen with lithium or taurine elicited a higher antibody titer in chickens compared to those of chickens orally immunized with antigen alone, but the effect of these two adjuvants was less efficient compared with that of NaF. These results suggested that Q-SAP as well as NaF is useful as an oral adjuvant for chickens.

Abstract
1. We examined the influence of refeeding after 2 d of fasting on plasma insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) concentration and hepatic IGF-I gene expression in chickens at 6 weeks of age. 2. Hepatic IGF-I mRNA was measured by ribonuclease protection assay and plasma IGF-I concentration was determined by radioimmunoassay. 3. Plasma IGF-I concentration decreased following fasting, increased to the level of fed controls after 2 h of refeeding but then fell back to the level of fasted chickens after 6 h of refeeding. 4. Fasting reduced hepatic IGF-I mRNA concentrations to less than half of those in the fed controls. Refeeding increased IGF-I mRNA sharply at 2 h after refeeding, but by 6 h after refeeding they had taller back again to levels significantly lower than at 2 h. 5. A significant correlation between plasma IGF-I concentration and hepatic IGF-I gene expression was found, suggesting that when chicks are refed after 2 d of fasting, the short-term increase in plasma IGF-I concentration may be partly regulated by the alteration in hepatic IGF-I mRNA.

Abstract
As a synthetic fiber maker, we Teijin Ltd. used polymer chemistry technology to develop an industrial oxygen-enriching membrane. With this membrane, Teijin had made first domestically manufactured membrane-type oxygen concentrator and entered home oxygen therapy market in 1982, which was three years prior to the start of medical insurance reimbursement for home oxygen therapy. Since then, the company has developed an adsorption-type oxygen concentrator, focused on power and noise reduction, and developed both the "Ultressa," a small, lightweight, portable tank used for outside activities and the "Sanso Saver," an oxygen-conserving device. Teijin also markets the "NIP Nasal", a nasal intemittent positive pressure ventilator. To maintain a development system meeting the needs of health care providers and patients, Teijin operates a direct sales system, currently staffed by specialist representatives in 60 sales offices throughout Japan who provide a rapid response, 24 hours a day, under our motto of "Peace of Mind and Reliability." Teijin not only provides devices; but also sees its function as that of assisting and pursuing QOL for home-based patients through the following services. 1. Teijin has developed TOMS, a monitoring unit connected to an oxygen concentrator in a patient home, which automatically advises a sales office as to the operating condition of the device. TOMS is installed on request, providing peace of mind for those living alone or in isolated locations. 2. When a patient travels, an oxygen concentrator can be installed at any destination in Japan and used free of charge. 3. Teijin supports get-togethers for patients and takes an active part in facilitating bus travel and other recreational activities. 4. To improve ADL and QOL, Teijin has made recent efforts to promote pulmonary rehabilitation, producing videos and booklets available through health care providers. 5. Based on lessons learned from the Great Hanshin Earthquake, the company has prepared manuals addressing a major earthquake disaster and has also stockpiled equipment. While the proportion of cancer patients is rising gradually, among home-oxygen therapy patients Teijin is committed to active efforts to meet the needs to improve QOL for those patients.

Abstract
To clarify the subspecies-specific functions of protein kinase C (PKC), we constructed cDNAs encoding gamma-, epsilon- and delta-PKC fused with green fluorescent protein (GFP). All fusion proteins had enzymological and immunological characteristics similar to those of native PKCs. When expressed in CHO-K1 cells, each fusion protein showed a specific subcellular localization. Their translocations induced by various stimulation were also diverse. For example, ATP translocated gamma-, epsilon- and delta-PKC-GFP in the cytoplasm to the plasma membrane within 30 sec with a return to the cytoplasm in 3 min, whereas TPA induced slow and irreversible translocation of all subspecies to the plasma membrane. Fatty acids also induced the translocation of gamma- and epsilon-PKC-GFP, but the two PKC subspecies showed distinct translocation and sensitivity to various fatty acids. Furthermore, we revealed that the PKC translocation requires neither the kinase activity of PKC nor its association with cytoskeletal proteins such as F-actin. These results indicate that each subspecies has a spatially and temporally different targeting mechanism that depends on the extracellular and intracellular signals, contributing to the subspecies-specific functions of PKC. These remarkable findings also indicate that a system for monitoring the PKC translocation is a powerful tool for investigating the subspecies-specific functions of PKCs and mechanism of its translocation.

Abstract
Distribution of serotonin transporter (SET) was examined immunohistochemically in the rat brain using two specific polyclonal antibodies raised against oligopeptides corresponding with 15 amino acids of carboxyl terminus and 14 amino acids of amino terminus of rat SET. The distribution and density of SET immunoreactive varicose fibers were quite similar to those of serotonin immunoreactive fibers, however no neuronal cell bodies in the brainstem raphe nuclei was stained in normal rat brain. Electron microscopic study showed that SET immunoreactivity was predominantly localized in the presynaptic terminals. After intraventricular infusion of colchicine, neuronal perikarya of dorsal, median, and pontine raphe nuclei became visible. These results suggest that SET is likely present at the synaptic terminals of serotonergic neurons and such localization may be in good agreement with its pharmacological action which includes reuptake of serotonin at presynaptic nerve terminals.

Abstract
We evaluated the clinical background of early death (within 3 months after admission to our hospital) in patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis during the past five years (1992-1996). Among 65 active pulmonary tuberculosis patients who died during the past five years, 32 (49%) died directly of tuberculosis. Thirteen (41%) of those 32 patients died of acute respiratory failure and 9 patients (28%) died in emacitation state. Twenty two patients (69%) died within 3 months after admission to our hospital (the early death group) and 10 patients (31%) died after 3 months (the late death group). Thirteen patients (59%) in the early death group died of acute respiratory failure. On the other hand, none in the late death group died of acute respiratory failure but 4 patients died of chronic heart and/or respiratory failure and 4 patients died in emarciation state. Compared to the patients in the late death group, more patients in the early death group had long total delays (patient's and doctor's delays), had coexisiting diseases, had fallen into acute respiratory failure, and were under malnutrition. We evaluated the nutritional condition of patients using the Onodera's PNI (Prognostic Nutritional Index; 10 x serum almumin concentration + 0.005 x peripheral lymphocyte count) and the PNI value was lower among the patients in the early death group than among those in the late death group. To prevent death due to tuberculosis, we emphasize that it is important to start anti-tuberculosis therapy before patients fall into acute respiratory failure and/or malnutrition.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Adhesion molecules are thought to play a key role in inflammatory processes in bronchial asthma. We previously observed an increased expression of the beta2-integrin family on an eosinophilic cell line (EoL-1) by platelet-activating factor (PAF). OBJECTIVE In the present study, we examined the effect of ibudilast (KC-404), a novel anti-asthma agent, on beta2 integrin expression induced by PAF. MATERIAL AND METHODS EoL-1 cells (1x10(6)/mL) were incubated in the presence or absence of 10(-6) M ibudilast (KC-404), then cells were cultured in the presence or absence of PAF (10(-7) M) for 45 minutes. Flow cytometric analysis for CD11a, CD11b, and CD18 expression was examined. RESULTS Ibudilast had an inhibitory effect on beta2 integrin expression induced by PAF [CD11a: 84.8% versus 73.1% (preincubation with ibudilast), CD11b: 35.8% versus 26.2%, CD18 74.9% versus 65.6%]. CONCLUSIONS Ibudilast (KC-404) has anti-inflammatory activities through its inhibitory effect on the expression of adhesion molecules on eosinophils.

Abstract
The neurohypophysial hormone, arginine vasotocin (AVT), plays an important role in the osmoregulation of birds. After a prolonged period of water deprivation, plasma osmolality and plasma concentration of AVT are elevated. In this study, the effects of short term dehydration were examined in laying hens by measuring plasma osmolality, plasma levels of potassium, sodium and AVT and hypothalamic concentrations of mRNA encoding AVT during 8 h of water deprivation. Plasma osmolality increased significantly after at 6 h of water deprivation. Plasma sodium levels, however, did not change. Plasma potassium concentrations gradually decreased during dehydration. Plasma AVT levels and hypothalamic AVT mRNA levels increased significantly after 8 h. The results of this study demonstrate that depriving chickens of water results first in an increase in plasma osmolality followed by increases in AVT levels in plasma and AVT mRNA levels in the hypothalamus. The data indicate that the synthesis of AVT in the magnocellular neurons in the hypothalamus is activated soon after the animals are deprived of water. This indicates that both de novo synthesized AVT as well as AVT stored in the neurohypophysis are available to meet the increasing demands for the hormone during osmotic stress.

Abstract
Eight new anthocyanins 1-8 (ternatins C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and D3 and preternatins A3 and C4) were isolated from Clitoria ternatea flowers. By the application of chemical, UV-vis, and FABMS methods, the structures of 1-6 were postulated as delphinidin 3-malonylglucoside having 3'-GCGC-5'-G, 3'-GCGCG-5'-G, 3'-GC-5'-G, 3'-GCG-5'-G, 3'-G-5'-G, and 3'-GC-5'-GC, and compounds 7 and 8 as delphinidin 3-glucoside having 3'-GCG-5'-GCG and 3'-GCG-5'-G as side chains, respectively, in which Dp is delphinidin, G is D-glucose, and C is p-coumaric acid. The structures of the compounds 1, 3-5, and 7 were established completely by additional NMR methods.

Abstract
Electrophoresis revealed two cases of malignant lymphoma that each contained three M-proteins (IgM lambda.lgG kappa.lgG lambda and IgM lambda.IgM kappa.lgG kappa) in the sera. To determine cellular origin of each M-protein, atypical lymphoid and plasmacytoid cells of both cases were examined by electron microscopy. Atypical lymphoid and plasmacytoid cells possessed rough endoplasmic reticula (RERs) in varying degrees, as seen by conventional electron microscopy, and showed double-stainability for plural antibodies against immunoglobulins following double stainings of immunoelectron microscopy using immunogold staining. Rabbit antibodies against human IgM, lgG, free kappa-light chain and free lambda-light chain were used for the immunoelectron microscopic staining. By the double staining method, plural immunoglobulins, IgM/IgG, IgM/free kappa, IgM/free lambda, IgG/free kappa, IgG/free lambda and free kappa/free lambda, were simultaneously detected in varying degrees in the Golgi area, RERs, and dense bodies of lymphoid and plasmacytoid cells. In conclusion, this study directly exhibited, through electron microscopy, that plural immunoglobulins were synthesized at the same time in a single cell, and that the process of immunoglobulin synthesis in the lymphoid and plasmacytoid cells was different from that in a normal B-cell.
