Abstract
Endometrial carcinoma is the most common invasive neoplasm of the female genital tract and is associated to the elevated levels of unopposed estrogen, especially in postmenopause. Ovarian Steroid cell tumors are rare tumors and they are named according to the origin of cell. The most common cancer of the female genital tract is the endometrial adenocarcinoma and it accounts for 7% of all invasive cancers in women. In the present case report, the authors present a 59-year-old multiparous woman with a postmenopausal bleeding complaint and they discuss the case of ovarian steroid cell tumor associated with endometrioid adenocarcinoma of endometrium. Endometrial adenocarcinoma is the most common cancer of female genital tract and its contemporarity with an ovarian steroid cell tumor is extremely rare.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IR) is associated with a high morbidity and mortality. Several agents have been used to protect the liver after IR. We aimed to investigated the effects of the Hypericum perforatum on IR of the liver. METHODS A total of 62 wistar-albino male rats in 4 groups were used. Sham group (n: 8). Control group (IR, n: 18) was underwent partially liver ischemia and reperfusion (IR). Carboxymethyl cellulose group (CMC n: 18) was given 0.5 % carboxymethyl cellulose before IR for a week. Hypericum perforatum group (HP, n:18) was given 0.5 % carboxymethyl cellulose supplemental the extract of Hypericum perforatum before IR for a week. Blood and liver samples were obtained before ischemia, and 1, 2, 4 hours after the reperfusion. AST, ALT, LDH, TNF-α, IL-6, MDA and advanced oxidation protein products(AOPP) levels were determined in blood samples. Histological evaluation and tissue MDA, AOPP levels were determined. RESULTS Blood levels of ALT, TNF-α, IL-6 and MDA were significantly low in HP group compared with IR and CMC groups (p < 0.05). There was no difference between the liver injury scrores of IR and CMC groups (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION [corrected] These results indicate that H. perforatum can protect the liver against IR. As antioxidative agent, Hypericum perforatum has both local and systemic protective effects in ischemia reperfusion injury (Tab. 1, Fig. 4, Ref. 31).

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the safety and efficacy of transepithelial corneal collagen crosslinking (TE-CXL) as compared to epithelium-off crosslinking (epi-off CXL) in progressive keratoconus. METHODS Records of keratoconus patients treated with TE-CXL or epi-off CXL were reviewed retrospectively. Patients were included if they had at least 12months follow-up. Pre- and postoperative measurements of visual acuity, refractive errors, keratometry, corneal topography and pachymetry were assessed and compared. RESULTS There was no statistically significant difference between two groups at baseline in terms of demographic, refractive and corneal parameters. Mean maximum cone apex curvature (apical K) increased from 51.62±5. Eighty-four diopters (D) to 53.70±5.49 D in the TE-CXL group (n=17), and decreased from 52.02±4.07 D to 51.22±3.51 in the epi-off CXL group (n=19) at the end of the follow-up period. The difference between two groups was statistically significant (P=0.0002). An increase of≥1D in apical K was observed in two of 19 eyes (11%) in the epi-off CXL group, and 11 of 17 eyes (65%) in TE-CXL group at the last follow-up visit, compared to baseline (P<0.0001). Fourteen patients in the epi-off CXL group exhibited corneal edema that resolved without haze with topical corticosteroid treatment by 4months. No postoperative corneal edema was observed in TE-CXL group. CONCLUSIONS Although it is safe and well tolerated, TE-CXL does not effectively halt the progression of keratoconus. Epi-off CXL appears to be effective in stopping progression and even improves corneal parameters.

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to define some novel radiological clues that may aid in the ultrasonographic diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux in pregnant women. A total of 84 pregnant women, consisting of 42 reflux patients and 42 controls were included in the study. Reflux and control groups were compared in terms of age and our novel ultrasonographic landmarks related to oesophageal structure. While the two groups did not differ in terms of age, they were significantly different from each other with respect to: single layer, single wall oesophageal thickness; double layer, double wall oesophageal thickness; oesophageal hiatal diameter; perioesophageal fat pad thickness; hypoechogenic single wall muscularis mucosa and lamina propria thickness. Owing to our newly defined radiological clues, ultrasonography may have a 'greater than expected' role in the diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux in pregnant women. However, further studies must be performed to document the actual diagnostic potential of these radiological tips.

Abstract
This study evaluated the protective effect of Panax Ginseng (PG) on bone metabolism in an experimental ovariectomy (OVX) model of osteoporosis in which inflammation was induced by subcutaneous magnesium silicate. The groups were: sham control (Group1, SH), sham+inflammation (Group2, SHinf), OVX (Group3), OVX+inflammation (Group4, OVXinf), OVX+inflammation+PG 100 mg/kg (Group5, OVXinf+PG1), OVX+inflammation+PG 200 mg/kg (Group6, OVXinf+PG2), OVX+PG 100 mg/kg (Group7, OVX+PG1), OVX+PG 200 mg/kg (Group8, OVX+PG1). After the OVX surgery, all the groups were allowed to recover for two months. On the 59th day after the OVX, inflammation was induced in Groups 2, 4, 5, and 6 by subcutaneous injections of magnesium silicate in the back of the animals. Groups 5 and 7 were administered oral PG 100 mg/kg, and Groups 6 and 8 were administered oral PG 200 mg/kg from the 60th to the 80th day. PG 200 mg/kg was able to restore BMD, up to values measured in both the OVX and the SH animals. The levels of OC and OP decreased in OVXinf+PG1 and OVXinf+PG2 groups. The serum levels of TNF—α, IL—1β, and IL—6 were increased significantly in the OVXinf rats compared with the SH group. The present data showed that PG protected against in the OVX model and in inflammation-induced bone loss rat model.

Abstract
The use of the brachialis muscle for tendon transfers in cerebral palsy has not been described previously. In this study, the brachialis muscle was used for transfer in 11 patients with spastic cerebral palsy for the restoration of forearm supination, wrist extension, or finger extension. Four patients underwent brachialis rerouting supinatorplasty. Active supination increased in two (60° and 50°), minimally increased in one (5°), and did not change in one patient. Five patients had a brachialis to extensor carpi radialis brevis transfer. The mean gain in postoperative active wrist extension was 65°. Two patients with finger flexion deformity and no active metacarpophalangeal joint movement underwent a brachialis to extensor digitorum communis transfer, and they attained an improved posture of finger extension although their postoperative metacarpophalangeal flexion-extension movement arc was 5° and 25°. None of the patients developed any loss of active flexion at the elbow. Our preliminary experience suggests that the brachialis muscle may serve as an alternative tendon transfer in cerebral palsy.

Abstract
We report the occurrence of central serous retinal detachment in association with hypotony in a patient that had undergone glaucoma filtration surgery. A 35-year-old man, who had a recent closed-globe injury, underwent trabeculectomy with mitomycin C for intractable traumatic glaucoma. On the second day after surgery, the eye became hypotonous and the patient's visual acuity decreased abruptly to counting fingers. Fundoscopy and optical coherence tomography revealed a central serous retinal detachment. Fundus florescein angiography showed choroidal leakage from traumatic perifoveal retinal pigment epithelial defects. Although the hypotony resolved within the first postoperative week, it took 2 months for the central serous retinal detachment to clear. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of isolated central serous retinal detachment following glaucoma filtration surgery.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES A prospective study to determine how commonly chronic subacromial impingement is associated with subcoracoid impingement and to evaluate clinical outcome after arthroscopic subacromial decompression (ASD). METHODS Subacromial and coracohumeral distances were evaluated in patients with chronic shoulder pain before and after ASD, using magnetic resonance imaging and the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) shoulder scale and Constant-Murley shoulder assessment. RESULTS A total of 40 patients were included in the study; patients were followed up for a mean of 27.3 months. Before ASD, 14 (35%) patients with chronic subacromial impingement also had subcoracoid impingement. In these patients, the mean coracohumeral distance was 7.18 mm (range 5.00 - 11.00 mm). After ASD, no patient had subcoracoid impingement, and the mean coracohumeral distance was significantly longer than pre-ASD, 12.85 mm (range 11.00 - 15.00 mm). The Constant-Murley shoulder assessment and UCLA shoulder scale both showed improvement after ASD. CONCLUSIONS Chronic subacromial impingement occurred together with subcoracoid impingement in 35% of patients presenting with chronic shoulder pain. Following ASD, the coracohumeral distance increased with remission from pain.
