Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) combined CHD(coronary heart disease) long-term prognosis. Method:One hundred and twenty cases of OSA combind CHD in gansu province people's hospital sleep center were randomly divided into two groups according to apnea hypopnea index(AHI), group A(light, medium OSA and CHD) 60 cases, group B(severe OSA and CHD) 60 cases. Contrast analysis and comparison between two groups PSG(Polysomnography) parameters, and the differences between the degree of coronary artery lesions and CPAP therapy effect on coronary long-term prognosis. Result:Compared group B with A, AHI, BMI, LSaO2, Epworth sleepiness scale(ESS) score, the amino acid homocysteine, the prevalence of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, the prevalence of acute myocardial infarction(ami) and vascular lesions and SYNTAX score increased significantly(P<0.05). The ejection fraction decreased significantly(P<0.05). The BNP(Brain natriuretic peptide) and cTNT(cardiac troponin, cTn) concentration there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). CPAP treatment(30.0±4.2) months later, Group B: CAPA + conventional treatment group, compared with the simple routine LSaO2, ejection fraction increased significantly(P<0.05), AHI, cardiovascular adverse events, vascular lesions, SYNTAX score, the BNP and TNT concentration significantly reduced(P<0.05); Group A: AHI, decreased significantly(P<0.05), LSaO2increased significantly(P<0.05), ejection fraction, cardiovascular adverse events, vascular lesions, SYNTAX score, there was no significant difference between the BNP and TNT concentration; Survival analysis showed that: Group A CPAP+conventional treatment group cumulative survival rate higher than the conventional treatment group, but there was no statistically significant difference(P=0.260). Group B: CPAP+conventional treatment group total survival rate was significantly higher than that of the conventional treatment group(P<0.001); Conclusion:With the increase of the severity of OSA, OSA merge CHD coronary artery pathological changes degree aggravating, CPAP therapeutic benefit the long-term prognosis of CHD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The pathogenesis of tongue cancer (TA) has not been fully illustrated. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is correlated with the precancerous lesion of oral cavity mucosa and malignant transformation. The focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and gap junction protein connexin 43 (Cx43) are involved in the occurrence and progression of tumors. This study aimed to investigate the effect of celecoxib on the proliferation, malignant transformation, and expression of FAK and Cx43 proteins. MATERIALS AND METHODS Healthy male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats (4 months old) were divided into control, model and celecoxib group. 7,12-dimethylbenzanthracene (DMBA) was used to generate tongue mucosal carcinoma, coupled with celecoxib intervention. At 8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks after induction, the rat survival status, the tumor formation rate and the tongue tissue morphology were observed. Meanwhile, the expression of FAK and Cx43 was also evaluated by using immunohistochemistry (IHC). RESULTS Tumor occurrence rates after induction were 0, 26.67%, 66.67%, and 80% at 8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks, respectively. The celecoxib treatment decreased such rats to 0, 0, 0, and 13.33%, respectively (p<0.05 compared to model group). No significant change was observed in control group, whilst model group had mild to severe hyperplasia and squamous carcinoma with elongated time. Celecoxib treatment significantly improved the tissue morphology (p<0.05). The model group also had elevated FAK and depressed Cx43 protein expression (p<0.05). With elongated time, the FAK expression was further increased whilst Cx43 protein was depressed (p<0.05 compared to model group). CONCLUSIONS The focal application of celecoxib effectively inhibited the DMBA-induced rat TA, possibly via regulating FAK and CX43 protein expression, and inhibiting oral epidermal hyperplasia.

Abstract
The NOvA experiment has seen a 4.4σ signal of ν[over ¯]_{e} appearance in a 2 GeV ν[over ¯]_{μ} beam at a distance of 810 km. Using 12.33×10^{20} protons on target delivered to the Fermilab NuMI neutrino beamline, the experiment recorded 27 ν[over ¯]_{μ}→ν[over ¯]_{e} candidates with a background of 10.3 and 102 ν[over ¯]_{μ}→ν[over ¯]_{μ} candidates. This new antineutrino data are combined with neutrino data to measure the parameters |Δm_{32}^{2}|=2.48_{-0.06}^{+0.11}×10^{-3} eV^{2}/c^{4} and sin^{2}θ_{23} in the ranges from (0.53-0.60) and (0.45-0.48) in the normal neutrino mass hierarchy. The data exclude most values near δ_{CP}=π/2 for the inverted mass hierarchy by more than 3σ and favor the normal neutrino mass hierarchy by 1.9σ and θ_{23} values in the upper octant by 1.6σ.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Primary headache and obesity are highly prevalent disorders in the general population. Although many studies have reported an association between the two, there is still no overall comprehension about this relationship. To gain a more accurate understanding in this regard, we analyzed data from a 2011 cross-sectional study in Chongqing, China. METHODS Patients with a chief complaint of headache were administered a headache questionnaire and diagnosed by neurology doctors in accordance with the International Classification of Headache Disorders 2nd Edition (ICHD-II) criteria. Patients aged < 18 years or diagnosed with secondary headache were excluded. RESULTS Of 1327 patients who cited headache as the chief complaint, 16 were excluded for missing data, while 396 were diagnosed with chronic headache (177 chronic migraine [CM], 186 chronic tension-type headache [CTTH], and 33 other chronic headache) and 915 with episodic headache (369 episodic migraine [EM], 319 episodic tension-type headache [ETTH], and 227 other episodic headache). Chronic headache patients had a higher number of headache days per month, longer duration of headache history, and greater tendency to overuse analgesics than episodic headache patients. The CM and ETTH patients were more apt to be overweight and had a significantly greater body mass index (BMI; p < 0.05) than the EM and CTTH patients. Overweight (odds ratio [OR] = 3.64; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.19-8.81) and obesity (OR = 28.63; 95% CI, 2.96-276.6) were independently associated with CM but not with other headaches, and this association was not influenced by other factors such as medication overuse. CONCLUSIONS The relationship between headache and overweight/obesity varies depending on the type of primary headache. CM patients are more likely to have a higher body mass index than EM patients, while ETTH patients are more likely to be overweight/obese than CTTH patients.

Abstract
Background Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a high-grade B-cell lymphoma with poor prognosis. Fludarabine is used alone or in combination for relapsed and advanced-stage MCL. The expression of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 5B (STAT5B) gene is associated with tumorigenesis in solid tumors, but its role in MCL remains unknown. The aims of this study were to investigate the role of STAT5B in GRANTA-519 human mantle cell lymphoma cells and drug resistance. Material/Methods GRANTA-519 human mantle cell lymphoma cells were cultured with and without 10 μM fludarabine dephosphorylated 9-β-D-arabinofuranosyl-2-fluoroadenine, (2-F-araA) or 10 μM 4-hydroperoxycyclophosphamide (4-HC). The MTT assay assessed cell proliferation. Flow cytometry was used to investigate the cell cycle in MCL cells treated with the specific inhibitor of the Akt pathway, LY294002, and assessed cell cycle and cell apoptosis. Western blot was used to detect the expression levels of p-Akt/Akt and STAT5B/p-STAT5B. The gene expression profiles of lymph node (LN)-derived MCL cells were compared with peripheral blood (PB)-derived lymphocytes using bioinformatics and hierarchical cluster analysis. Quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was performed to determine the expression of the marker of proliferation Ki-67 (MKI67) gene. Results STAT5B was significantly upregulated in LN-derived MCL cells compared with PB lymphocytes. Increased expression of STAT5B was associated with increased MCL cell proliferation and reduced cell apoptosis and was associated with drug resistance and activation of Akt. Conclusions STAT5B promoted cell proliferation and drug resistance in human MCL cells by activating the Akt signaling pathway.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important mediators in tumor progression. Long intergenic noncoding RNA-p21 (lincRNA-p21) participates in multiple biological processes. This study explored the role of lincRNA-p21 in human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) progression and potential regulatory mechanisms. METHODS LincRNA-p21 expression in NSCLC tissues and cell lines (A549, H1299, H1650, and NCI-H2087) was determined by quantitative real-time PCR. LincRNA-p21 overexpressing and sh-lincRNA-p21 lentiviral were respectively transfected into H1299 and A549 cells. Flow cytometry was used to measure apoptosis. Microarray analysis and RNA pull-down assay were used to predict the target genes of lincRNA-p21. Finally, PUMA siRNA and overexpressing PUMA were transfected into NSCLC cells, and the extent of cell apoptosis was measured. The protein expression levels of the relative genes were confirmed by western blot analysis. RESULTS LincRNA-p21 was significantly upregulated in NSCLC tissues and cells. The upregulation of lincRNA-p21 considerably inhibited cell apoptosis while the downregulation of lincRNA-p21 showed the opposite effect. PUMA was a direct target gene of lincRNA-p21 and was negatively correlated with lincRNA-p21 in NSCLC specimens. The anti-apoptotic effect of lincRNA-p21 can be effectively attenuated by the upregulation of PUMA. CONCLUSION LincRNA-p21 is aberrantly upregulated in NSCLC and inhibits cell apoptosis by decreasing PUMA expression.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Application of dendritic cells (DC) for cancer immunotherapy involves tumor-associated immunogenic antigens for effective therapeutic strategies. The present study investigated whether DC co-cultured with autologous cytokine-induced killer cells (CIK) could induce a more specific immune response against liver cancer stem cells (LCSC) generated from human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells in vitro and in vivo. METHODS Human DC and CIK were generated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) taken from consenting liver cancer patients. Flow cytometry was used to determine the phenotypes of DC and CIK, and cell proliferation. The tumor growth and anti-tumor activity of these cells were further evaluated using a nude mouse tumor model. RESULTS We demonstrated that DC and CIK significantly enhanced the apoptosis ratio, depending on DC-CIK cell numbers, by increasing caspase-3 protein expression and reducing proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) protein expression against LCSC. The in vivo data indicated that DC-CIK exhibited significant LCSC cell-induced tumor growth inhibition in nude mice, which was most significant with LCSC antigen loaded DCs. CONCLUSIONS The results showed, that DC-CIK cells could inhibit HCC and LCSC growths in vitro and in vivo and the most successful DC triggering of cell cytotoxic activity could be achieved by their LCSC antigen loading.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Many studies have suggested that high KIF26B expression is directly linked to poor prognostic outcomes in breast cancer. However, the exact role of KIF26B in breast cancer progression is not fully understood. In this study, we aimed to explore the function and mechanism of KIF26B in breast cancer progression. METHODS Quantitative real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry analysis were used to detect KIF26B expression in breast cancer cell lines and patient samples. Cell proliferation was assessed by CCK-8 assay, and cell migration and invasion were evaluated by wound healing assay and transwell assay. Western blot analysis was carried out to assess the underlying molecular mechanisms. Tumor formation and metastasis were determined by in vivo mouse experiments. RESULTS KIF26B levels were significantly increased in breast cancer cells and patient samples. KIF26B level correlated with tumor size, TNM grade, and differentiation in patients with breast cancer. Overexpressing KIF26B in vitro promoted breast cancer cell proliferation and migration by activating FGF2/ERK signaling, while silencing KIF26B had the opposite effects. Similarly, KIF26B knockdown repressed tumor formation and metastasis in nude mice. CONCLUSION KIF26B promoted the development and progression of breast cancer and might act as a potential therapeutic target for treating breast cancer.

Abstract
Aflatoxin contamination in peanut is a serious food safety issue to human health around the world. Finding disease resistance genes is a key strategy for genetic improvement in breeding to deal with this issue. We identified an Aspergillus flavus-induced NBS-LRR gene, AhRAF4, using a microarray-based approach. By comparison of 23 sequences from three species using phytogenetics, protein secondary structure and three-dimensional structural analyses, AhRAF4 was revealed to be derived from Arachis duranensis by recombination, and has newly evolved into a family of several members, characterised by duplications and point mutations. However, the members of the family descended from A. ipaensis were lost following tetraploidisation. AhRAF4 was slightly up-regulated by low temperature, drought, salicylic acid and ethylene, but down-regulated by methyl jasmonate. The distinct responses upon As. flavus inoculation and the differential reactions between resistant and susceptible varieties indicate that AhRAF4 might play a role in defence responses. Temporal and spatial expression and the phenotype of transformed protoplasts suggest that AhRAF4 may also be associated with pericarp development. Because tetraploid cultivated peanuts are vulnerable to many pathogens, an exploration of R-genes may provide an effective method for genetic improvement of peanut cultivars.

Abstract
Using next-generation sequencing on vesicular swab and serum from swine from the USA exhibiting lameness and vesicles, porcine pegivirus (PPgV) was first identified and genetically characterized in the United States. Further screening using RT-PCR revealed that 24 of 159 (15.1%) serum samples were positive for PPgV. Future studies are needed to understand clinical impacts of the virus.

Abstract
The lack of high-performance tactile sensors, especially for pressure/force, is a huge obstacle for the widespread application of intelligent robots. Current pressure sensors are often operated in the high range of pressure and normal direction, showing a little ability in the low range of pressure and three-axis direction simultaneously. Herein, a highly sensitive flexible tactile sensor with three-axis force sensing capacity is presented by combining microstructured polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) arrays and a reduced graphene oxide (rGO) film. The deformation of microstructured rGO/PDMS results in a change in the contact area between the rGO film and electrode, leading to a high sensitivity of -1.71 kPa-1 in the low range pressure of 0-225 Pa with a fast response time of 6 ms at a large feature size of 100 μm. To realize three-axis sensing, a sensing unit was built up, which was composed of the adjacent four parts of patterns and electrodes underneath a bump. A mechanical model of the exerted spatial force was established to calculate each axis force component via the deformation of the rGO/PDMS pattern. The experimental results show that the current difference between the adjacent two parts has a strong relationship with the applied force. As a proof of concept, we have demonstrated a 3 × 3 array sensor for arbitrary force sensing. Our tactile sensor would be used in transmitting information from a gentle spatial force and would exhibit broad applications as e-skin in integrated robots.

Abstract
Ultra-translucent zirconias are drawing immense attention due to their fascinating esthetic appearance. However, the high translucency came at the expense of diminishing strength along with the reduced ability of transformation toughening due to the increased cubic zirconia content. We aim to address these issues by infiltrating glass on the surface of an ultra-translucent zirconia (5Y-PSZ). Glasses of different shades can be used and the resulting graded glass/zirconia layer is expected to improve the material's flexural strength without compromising its esthetics. We also aim to elucidate how clinically relevant surface treatments-namely, air abrasion, glazing, or polishing-affect the fracture resistance of these zirconias with a high cubic content. All surface treatments were performed on bar-shaped (2 × 3 × 25 mm3) and plate-shaped (12 × 12 × 1 mm3) specimens, which were then subjected to a 4-point bending test and translucency measurements, respectively. 5Y-PSZ proved to be significantly more translucent than 3Y-TZP but also much weaker. Our hypothesis was accepted, as the strength of the glass-infiltrated ultra-translucent 5Y-PSZ (582 ± 20 MPa) is over 70% higher than its uninfiltrated counterpart (324 ± 57 MPa). Its strength is also over 25% higher than the highly polished 5Y-PSZ (467 ± 38 MPa). In addition, the translucency of 5Y-PSZ (translucency parameter [ TP] = 34, contrast ratio [ CR] = 0.31) is not affected by glass infiltration ( TP = 34, CR = 0.32) when the residual surface glass is removed by gentle polishing using 6- and then 3-µm diamond grits. Finally, both air abrasion and the presence of a glaze layer on the tensile surface decreased flexural strength significantly, being 274 ± 55 and 211 ± 21 MPa, respectively. With a combined high strength and translucency, the newly developed glass-infiltrated 5Y-PSZ may be considered a suitable material for next-generation, damage-resistant, and esthetic dental restorations.

Abstract
UNLABELLED This study presents the clinical and biochemical profiles of patients with PHPT between 2005 and 2016 at our center. Most PHPT patients in China show symptomatic features. The number of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients increased during that time, and the number of individuals with parathyroid carcinoma is now increasing. INTRODUCTION Over the last decade, the prevalence of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) has increased sharply, and the number of individuals with parathyroid cancer is still trending upward. Little is known about the clinical outlook of the disease over the last decade in China. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical characteristics of PHPT patients at our center from January 2005 to December 2016. METHODS Two hundred sixty patients with PHPT visiting Shanghai Jiao Tong University Affiliated Sixth People's Hospital were enrolled retrospectively. The clinical manifestations and biochemical abnormalities of these patients were analyzed. RESULTS Among all patients, 73.1% had symptomatic PHPT, while the number of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients increased 1 to 2.5 times and 1.5 to 3 times, respectively, from 2005 to 2016. Bone pain and single adenoma were the most frequent signs and pathological results. The patients with parathyroid carcinoma over the last 5 years accounted for 90% (9/10) of all parathyroid carcinoma patients from 2005 to 2016, and parathyroid carcinoma patients had higher levels of serum calcium, parathyroid hormone (PTH), and serum creatinine (P < 0.05) than parathyroid hyperplasia and parathyroid adenoma patients. CONCLUSIONS Most patients with PHPT in China still exhibit classic clinical and biochemical features. Both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients have increased over the last 12 years. Although the proportion of parathyroid carcinoma was small, a noticeable upward tendency was observed at our center.

Abstract
Various studies have investigated laryngeal function and survival after induction chemotherapy in hypopharyngeal carcinoma, but potential factors to help predict response rates after induction chemotherapy remain unknown. This retro- spective study evaluated which factors are related to an ineffective response to two-cycle docetaxel, cisplatin, and 5-fluoro- uracil (TPF) induction chemotherapy in hypopharyngeal carcinoma to determine potential candidates for this treatment in clinical practice. From Jan 2005 to Dec 2015, 81 patients diagnosed with hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma based on a pathological examination were analyzed. They were administered two-cycle TPF induction chemotherapy, and magnetic resonance imaging was performed before and after induction chemotherapy. The mean survival time was 5.7 years (95% confidence interval, 5.1-6.2 years). The 1, 3, 5 and 6-year survival rates were 98.8%, 80.1%, 64.5%, and 54.2%, respectively. TPF induction chemotherapy was well tolerated; the main adverse effects resolved with symptomatic treatment. A response to TPF induction chemotherapy was associated with lymph node size, tumor grade, invasion region, T stage, and primary tumor. The following issues were significantly associated with an increasing non-response rate to two-cycle induction chemotherapy: increasing lymph node size, moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, invasion of the esophagus along with the thyroid cartilage, and primary tumor in the piriform sinus. Lymph nodes of ≥2.15 cm, moderately differenti- ated tumor grade, or thyroid cartilage invasion were the best cutoff values for patients who did not respond to induction chemotherapy. However, the initial cancer site, cancer stage, and degree of cancer differentiation were not closely related to the efficacy of induction chemotherapy.

Abstract
Recent evidence suggests Trendelenburg positioning can produce a significant rise in intra-ocular pressure. Peri-operative vision loss in patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal surgery has been reported with the rise in intra-ocular pressure suggested as a possible factor. Acetazolamide decreases intra-ocular pressure by reducing the formation of aqueous humour, so we aimed to investigate if it could attenuate the intra-ocular pressure rise that can occur in the Trendelenburg position. Nine healthy volunteers were recruited and randomly assigned to a double-blind crossover comparison of placebo or acetazolamide with a minimal 4 days' washout period before the second study day. One and a half hours after taking the medication, volunteers lay head-down at 17° for 4 h. Intraocular pressure measurements were repeated in both eyes every 30 min over a 4-h period. There were two males and seven female volunteers, with a mean (SD) age of 54.3 (18.5) years. The mean (SD) increase in intra-ocular pressure following 4 h in the Trendelenburg position was 3.17 (4.63) mmHg after the placebo, and 0.02 (4.01) mmHg (p = 0.02) after acetazolamide. We have shown than acetazolamide can attenuate the rise that occurs in intra-ocular pressure when in the Trendelenburg position.

Abstract
We show that a high-energy electron bunch can be used to capture the instantaneous longitudinal and transverse field structures of the highly transient, microscopic, laser-excited relativistic wake with femtosecond resolution. The spatiotemporal evolution of wakefields in a plasma density up ramp is measured and the reversal of the plasma wake, where the wake wavelength at a particular point in space increases until the wake disappears completely only to reappear at a later time but propagating in the opposite direction, is observed for the first time by using this new technique.

Abstract
Methyl-CpG binding protein 2 (MeCP2) is involved in the carcinogenesis and progression of multiple types of cancer. However, its precise role in gastric cancer (GC) and the relevant molecular mechanism remain unknown. In the present study, we found that miR-638 levels were lower in GC tissues and GC cell lines than in adjacent normal tissues and normal gastric epithelial cell lines, respectively. Low miR-638 levels were associated with poor tumor differentiation, tumor size and lymph node metastasis. MeCP2 expression levels were higher in GC tissues than in adjacent normal tissues. It was found that miR-638 inhibited GC cell proliferation, colony formation, G1–S transition and tumor growth, and induced cell apoptosis by directly targeting MeCP2. MeCP2 promoted GC cell proliferation, colony formation and G1–S cell-cycle transition, and suppressed apoptosis. Molecular mechanistic investigations were performed using an integrated approach with a combination of microarray analysis, chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing and a reporter gene assay. The results showed that MeCP2 bound to the methylated CpG islands of G-protein-coupled receptor kinase-interacting protein 1 (GIT1) promoter and upregulated its expression, thereby activating the MEK1/2–ERK1/2 signaling pathway and promoting GC cell proliferation. Taken together, our study demonstrates that MeCP2, a target of miR-638, facilitates GC cell proliferation and induces cell-cycle progression through activation of the MEK1/2–ERK1/2 signaling pathway by upregulating GIT1. The findings suggest that MeCP2 plays a significant role in GC progression, and may serve as a potential target for GC therapy.
