Abstract
Objective: To analyze the correlation between loss of smell/taste and the number of real confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) worldwide based on Google Trends data, and to explore the guiding role of smell/taste loss for the COVID-19 prevention and control. Methods: "Loss of smell" and "loss of taste" related keywords were searched in the Google Trends platform, the data were obtained from Jan. 1 2019 to Jul. 11 2021. The daily and newly confirmed COVID-19 case number were collected from World Health Organization (WHO) since Dec. 30 2019. All data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 23.0 software. The correlation was finally tested by Spearman correlation analysis. Results: A total of data from 80 weeks were collected. The retrospective analysis was performed on the new trend of COVID-19 confirmed cases in a total of 186 292 441 cases worldwide. Since the epidemic of COVID-19 was recorded on the WHO website, the relative searches related to loss of smell/taste in the Google Trends platform had been increasing globally. The global relative search volumes of "loss of smell" and "loss of taste" on Google Trends was 10.23±2.58 and 16.33±2.47 before the record of epidemic while 80.25±39.81 and 80.45±40.04 after (t value was 8.67, 14.43, respectively, both P<0.001). In the United States and India, the relative searches for "loss of smell" and "loss of taste" after the record of epidemic were also much higher than before (all P<0.001). The correlation coefficients between the trend of weekly new COVID-19 cases and the Google Trends of "loss of smell" in the global, United States, and India was 0.53, 0.76, and 0.82 respectively (all P<0.001), the correlation coefficients with Google Trends of "loss of taste" was 0.54, 0.78, and 0.82 respectively (all P<0.001). The lowest and highest point of loss of smell/taste search curves of Google Trends in different periods appeared 7 to 14 days earlier than that of the weekly newly COVID-19 confirmed cases curves, respectively. Conclusions: There is a significant positive correlation between the number of newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide and the amount of keywords, such as "loss of smell" and "loss of taste", retrieved in Google Trends. The trend of big data based on Google Trends might predict the outbreak trend of COVID-19 in advance.

Abstract
Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics of sarcoidosis patients with arrhythmia as the primary or main manifestation. Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of arrhythmia-onset sarcoidosis cases between January 2017 and December 2020. Their clinical manifestations, radiological features, treatment and prognosis were reviewed and analyzed. Results: This study consisted of 3 females and 1 male, with a mean age of 51 years (range from 42 to 58 years old). Arrhythmia was the first or main clinical manifestation for all 4 cases, involving Ⅲ° atrioventricular block (AVB) (n=1), Ⅱ° type Ⅱ AVB (n=1), and frequent ventricular premature beats and short array ventricular tachycardia (n=2). Three cases were diagnosed with respiratory sarcoidosis simultaneously during the diagnostic evaluation for arrhythmia. One case was diagnosed with sarcoidosis because of abnormal chest CT images due to cervical lymph node enlargement 5 years after arrhythmia. All 4 cases were confirmed as presenting epithelioid cell granulomatous inflammation by bronchoscopic biopsies. Late gadolinium enhancement with cardiac magnetic resonance (LGE-CMR) imaging was arranged for two cases. Both of them had typical imaging findings of cardiac sarcoidosis. Three cases were confirmed of cardiac involvement through positron emission computed tomography (PET)-CT. None of the enrolled four cases were arranged with endomyocardial biopsy. All four cases were improved with oral corticosteroids, immunosuppressants and anti-arrhythmic medications. Two cases underwent cardiac pacemaker implantation. Conclusions: The possibility of cardiac sarcoidosis should be considered in middle-aged and elderly patients with unexplained high-degree AVB or ventricular arrhythmia. Chest CT is recommended for routine screening for those cases. LGE-CMR and/or PET-CT is recommended for them to confirm the diagnosis of cardiac sarcoidosis. Corticosteroids and immunosuppressants are effective for these patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to investigate the association and mediation pathways among muscle mass, muscle function (muscle strength and physical performance), and malnutrition with depressive symptoms clusters in the older hemodialysis patients. DESIGN A multi-center cross-sectional study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS A total of 499 patients aged ≥ 60 on hemodialysis from seven facilities in Shanghai of China from 2020 to 2021. MEASUREMENTS Muscle mass was assessed by skeletal muscle index(SMI). Muscle strength was measured by handgrip strength, and physical performance was measured via gait speed and Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT). Nutritional status was assessed by Malnutrition Inflammation Score (MIS). Depressive symptoms were evaluated by the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). Logistic regression and mediation analyses fully adjusted for all potential confounding factors. RESULTS Among 499 participants (312 men, mean age 69.2±6.6 years), 108 (21.6%) had depressive symptoms. The muscle strength, physical performance and malnutrition were associated with depressive symptoms. Furthermore, malnutrition significantly mediated the association of muscle function with total, cognitive-affective symptoms. The association of the muscle function with somatic symptoms were mediated by the nutritional status. The mediated proportions of malnutrition in the relationship between physical performance and depressive symptoms clusters were stronger in somatic symptoms than in cognitive-affective symptoms. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that muscle function rather than muscle mass may contribute substantially to the development of depressive symptoms clusters in the hemodialysis via malnutrition. The malnutrition mediated stronger in the association of muscle function with somatic symptoms. These findings may help guide clinicians to better diagnose and manage depression in the context of concomitant muscle function and malnutrition.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the related factors of thrombosis in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF), and whether the combination of D-dimer, left atrial anteroposterior diameter and CHA2DS2-VASc score can be used to exclude left atrial thrombosis. Methods: A total of 75 NVAF patients with left atrial thrombosis confirmed by transesophageal echocardiography in Peking University People's Hospital from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2019 were enrolled as the thrombus group. From January 1 to October 31, 2019, 80 patients with NVAF without left atrial thrombosis were enrolled as the control group. The clinical data, CHA2DS2-VASc score, hematological biomarkers, ultrasound data of two groups were compared. The independent factors associated with left atrial thrombosis were screened by univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The positive predictive value and negative predictive value for the diagnosis of left atrial thrombosis were gained by the score calculated based on the independent related factors. Results: There were no significant differences in age, gender, proportion of persistent atrial fibrillation and duration of atrial fibrillation between the two groups. The CHA2DS2-VASc score [M (Q1, Q3)] of the thrombus group was higher than that of the control group [2.5 (1.0, 3.0) vs 1.8 (1.0, 3.0), P=0.012]. The prothrombin time activity [M (Q1, Q3)] of the thrombus group was 81.1 (72.0, 93.0)%, which was lower than that of the control group 88.8 (83.0,96.0)% (P=0.008). The activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) of the thrombus group was longer than that of the control group [(32.1±4.8) s vs (30.2±3.7) s, P=0.006]. D-dimer [M (Q1, Q3)] of the thrombus group was 231.0 (71.5, 272.2) ng/ml, which was higher than that of the control group 121.7 (49.0, 140.0) ng/ml (P<0.001). The left atrial anteroposterior diameter in thrombus group was larger [(44.6±6.6) mm vs (38.9±5.3) mm, P<0.001], the proportion of mitral regurgitation was higher (58.1% vs 26.8%, P<0.001). The left ventricular ejection fraction [M (Q1, Q3)] of the thrombus group was 56.7% (45.8%, 66.3%), which was lower than that of the control group 63.3% (60.5%, 70.2%) (P=0.003). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the factor related to left atrial thrombosis was left atrial anteroposterior diameter (OR=4.480, 95%CI: 1.616-12.423). The negative predictive value of the new scoring system combined with D-dimer, left atrial anteroposterior diameter and CHA2DS2-VASc score for left atrial thrombosis was 100%. Conclusions: In NVAF patients, the factor independently associating with left atrial thrombosis is left atrial anteroposterior diameter. The combination of D-dimer, left atrial anteroposterior diameter, and CHA2DS2-VASc score can help exclude left atrial thrombosis before ablation of NVAF.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spread around the world in 2020. Abnormal pulmonary function and residual CT abnormalities were observed in COVID-19 patients during recovery. Appropriate rehabilitation training is around the corner. The correlation between spirometric impairment and residual CT abnormality remains largely unknown. PATIENTS AND METHODS A cross-sectional study conducted on the pulmonary function of 101 convalescent COVID-19 patients before discharge. Multivariate analysis was used to establish a scoring system to evaluate the spirometric abnormality based on residual chest CT. RESULTS Lung consolidation area >25% and severe-type COVID-19 were two independent risk factors for severe pulmonary dysfunction. Besides, a scoring system was established. People scoring more than 12 points have more chances (17 times) to get severe pulmonary function impairment before discharge. CONCLUSIONS For the first time, a chest CT characteristics-based grading system was suggested to predict the pulmonary dysfunction of COVID-19 patients during convalescence in this study. This study may provide suggestions for pulmonary rehabilitation.

Abstract
Warming, eutrophication, and increased omnivory by small-sized fish are global change processes that induce major effects on the food web structure and primary producers of shallow lakes. Despite the key relevance of phytoplankton and periphyton in freshwaters, the combined and potential synergistic effects of fish omnivory, warming and eutrophication, especially on periphyton, remains little addressed, particularly for subtropical shallow lakes. We experimentally tested the food web effects on phytoplankton and periphyton induced by small visually feeding omnivorous fish (Rhodeus ocellatus), high nutrient enrichment and warming (+4.5 °C) in thirty-two 1000 L-mesocosms simulating littoral conditions of subtropical shallow lakes. We aimed at analysing the mechanisms and responses of periphyton and phytoplankton to these experimental factors. All mesocosms included the submerged macrophytes Vallisneria denseserrulata and Potamogeton lucens and artificial plants at 50% plant volume inhabited, plankton and macroinvertebrates. Small-sized visually feeding omnivorous fish enhanced phytoplankton dominance and periphyton loss. These changes coincided with a decrease in zooplankton biomass and a diversity loss of both zooplankton and macroinvertebrates as well as an increase in snail abundance. Fish presence led to a collapse of cladocerans, thereby releasing the grazing pressure on phytoplankton, and predator and collector macroinvertebrates were replaced with small snails (Radix peregra < 0.5 cm) resulting in enhanced grazing on periphyton. Eutrophication reinforced the fish effects, while warming had weak or no effects. Our results indicate that omnivory by small-sized visually feeding fish may induce stronger effects on the food webs of shallow lakes, towards phytoplankton-dominated states, than the combined effect of nutrient enrichment and warming under the present experimental conditions.

Abstract
In order to address the impact of the concentration gradients on the chemistry – turbulence interaction in turbulent flames, the REDIM reduced chemistry is constructed incorporating the scalar dissipation rate, which is a key quantity describing the turbulent mixing process. This is achieved by providing a variable gradient estimate in the REDIM evolution equation. In such case, the REDIM reduced chemistry is tabulated as a function of the reduced coordinates and the scalar dissipation rate as an additional progress variable. The constructed REDIM is based on a detailed transport model including the differential diffusion, and is validated for a piloted non-premixed turbulent jet flames (Sandia Flame D and E). The results show that the newly generated REDIM can reproduce the thermo-kinetic quantities very well, and the differential molecular diffusion effect can also be well captured.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the value of CT-based radiomics in differential diagnosis of retroperitoneal neuroblastoma (NB) and ganglioneuroblastoma (GNB) in children. METHODS A total of 172 children with NB and 48 children with GNB were assigned into the training set and testing set at the ratio of 7∶3 using a random stratified sampling method. Radiomics features were extracted and selected from non-enhanced and post-enhanced CT images. Based on the subset of optimal features, a multivariate regression model was used to establish the radiomics models for each phase and the combined radiomics models. The ROC curves of the models were drawn, and the evaluation indexes such as AUC, accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of these models were calculated and compared. RESULTS A total of 1218 radiomics features were extracted from the CT images acquired in non-enhanced (NP), arterial (AP) and venous phases (VP), from which 4 features from the NP model, 3 features from the AP model, 2 features from the VP model and 5 features from the combined model were selected. The AUC of the NP model in the training set and testing set was 0.840 (95% CI: 0.778-0.902) and 0.804 (95% CI: 0.699-0.899), respectively, as compared with 0.819 (95%CI: 0.759-0.877) and 0.815 (95%CI: 0.697-0.915) for the AP model, 0.730 (95%CI: 0.649-0.803) and 0.751 (95%CI: 0.619-0.869) for the VP model, and 0.861 (95%CI: 0.809-0.910) and 0.827 (95%CI: 0.726-0.915) for the combined model. CONCLUSION Radiomics signature based on non-enhanced and post-enhanced CT images can be helpful for distinguishing retroperitoneal NB and GNB in children. Compared with the first-order histogram features, textural features can better reflect the difference of the lesions. NP, AP and VP models have similar classification efficacy in differentiating retroperitoneal NB and GNB. The efficacy of the combined model is similar to that of the NP and AP models, but superior to that of the VP model.

Abstract
We present results from an analysis of all data taken by the BICEP2, Keck Array, and BICEP3 CMB polarization experiments up to and including the 2018 observing season. We add additional Keck Array observations at 220 GHz and BICEP3 observations at 95 GHz to the previous 95/150/220 GHz dataset. The Q/U maps now reach depths of 2.8, 2.8, and 8.8 μK_{CMB} arcmin at 95, 150, and 220 GHz, respectively, over an effective area of ≈600 square degrees at 95 GHz and ≈400 square degrees at 150 and 220 GHz. The 220 GHz maps now achieve a signal-to-noise ratio on polarized dust emission exceeding that of Planck at 353 GHz. We take auto- and cross-spectra between these maps and publicly available WMAP and Planck maps at frequencies from 23 to 353 GHz and evaluate the joint likelihood of the spectra versus a multicomponent model of lensed ΛCDM+r+dust+synchrotron+noise. The foreground model has seven parameters, and no longer requires a prior on the frequency spectral index of the dust emission taken from measurements on other regions of the sky. This model is an adequate description of the data at the current noise levels. The likelihood analysis yields the constraint r_{0.05}<0.036 at 95% confidence. Running maximum likelihood search on simulations we obtain unbiased results and find that σ(r)=0.009. These are the strongest constraints to date on primordial gravitational waves.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of long-term exposure to ambient particulate matter (PM10) on the prevalence of diabetes and fasting plasma glucose (FPG). Methods: The subjects of the study were from the baseline population of "Jinchang Cohort", and 24 285 subjects were finally included after excluding incomplete home address information and diabetic diagnosis information. The demographic characteristics, lifestyle and health status of the survey subjects were collected through questionnaire, physical examination and laboratory tests. ArcGIS software was used to match the nearest environmental monitoring stations for each subject according to residential address. Two-year average concentrations of PM10 were calculated to estimate exposure level. The logistic regression and the multiple linear regression were conducted to assess the effects of ambient PM10 on the prevalence of diabetes and FPG. The restricted cubic spline was used to quantify the dose-response relationship. Stratified analysis and effect modification analysis were also performed. Results: The age of 24 285 participants was (49.32±8.60) years, and the BMI was (24.22±6.09) kg/m2. There were 13 950 (57.44%) males and 2 066 (8.51%) diabetic patients. After adjusting for confounders, for every 10 μg/m3 increase in the average PM10 concentration in the first two years of the survey, the prevalence of diabetes increased [OR (95%CI) =1.05 (1.01-1.09)]and the FPG level elevated [β (95%CI) = 0.061 (0.047-0.076) mmol/L]. The results of the restricted cubic spline analysis showed a nonlinear relationship between PM10 concentration and FPG level (P<0.001). Further subgroup analysis showed that female [OR (95%CI) =1.10 (1.03-1.18)], people over 50 years old [OR (95%CI) =1.06 (1.02-1.11) ], subjects with family history of diabetes [OR (95%CI) = 1.13 (1.04-1.23) ], and with hypertension [OR (95%CI) = 1.07 (1.02-1.12) ] had a stronger association between the prevalence of diabetes and PM10 exposure (all P interaction values were<0.05). The effects of PM10 on FPG were more significant in people older than 50 years[β (95%CI) = 0.080 (0.050-0.109) mmol/L], with family history of diabetes [β (95%CI) = 0.087 (0.036-0.137) mmol/L], and hypertension [β (95%CI) = 0.077 (0.046-0.108) mmol/L] (all P interaction values were<0.05). Conclusions: Long-term exposure to ambient PM10 increases the diabetes prevalence and FPG. People older than 50 years old, with family history of diabetes and hypertension could be more sensitive to the effects of PM10 exposure.

Abstract
Objective: We conducted a Meta-analysis to investigate the necessity of postural restrictions after manual reduction in the treatment of posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (PC-BPPV). Methods: We searched PubMed, EBSCO, Proquest, Web of Science databases, Ovid, and screened eligible studies that investigated the effect of post-maneuver postural restriction in treating patients with PC-BPPV. Outcomes included the efficacy of treatment and recurrence. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 15.0 software. Results: Studies of the single visit efficiency included 11 references, with a sample size of 1 733 cases. The Meta-analysis results showed that the difference in the efficacy between the postural restricted group and the non-postural restricted group in PC-BPPV patients was statistically significant(RR=1.12, 95%CI=1.07-1.18, P<0.001). There were 12 references included in the study on the total efficiency, with a cumulative sample size of 1763 cases. There was no statistically significant difference between the effect of postural restriction after manipulative reduction and that of simple manipulative reduction (RR=1.03, 95%CI=0.99-1.08, P=0.118). There were 5 references included in the study of recurrence rate, and the cumulative sample size was 659 cases. There was no statistically significant difference in the recurrence rate between the postural restricted group and the non-postural restricted group(RR=0.98, 95%CI=0.62-1.54, P=0.937). Conclusions: In comparison with non-postural restriction group, post-maneuver postural restriction after a single visit can improve the treatment effective rate of PC-BPPV and contribute to the improvement in the symptoms of patients in a short term. However, postural restrictions has no significant effect on the final prognosis of PC-BPPV, and it also has no significant effect on the recurrence.

Abstract
Objective: To study the predictive value of central venous-arterial CO2 difference (Pv-aCO2)/arterial-central venous O2 difference (Ca-vO2) ratio for progressive organ dysfunction in patients with septic shock after resuscitation. Methods: Septic shock patients receiving resuscitation in ICU were retrospectively enrolled from July 2018 to June 2019 at the First Affiliated Hospital Anhui Medical University. Hemodynamic and laboratory data were collected. Single and multivariate logistic regression model was constructed to explore the independent risk factors of progressive organ dysfunction. The predictive value of hemodynamic parameters to progression of organ dysfunction was determined using receiver operating characteristic (ROC)curve analysis. Results: A total of 99 patients were enrolled with 25 patients (25.25%) progressing to organ dysfunction. The norepinephrine dose [0.61 (0.27,1.42) μg·kg-1·min-1 vs. 0.91 (0.47,2.87) μg·kg-1·min-1], blood lactic acid [2.93 (1.77,5.88) mmol/L vs. 6.15 (2.56,8.59) mmol/L], Pv-aCO2 [5.00 (3.98,7.85) mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) vs. 7.00 (5.00,8.35) mmHg] and Pv-aCO2/Ca-vO2 [1.36(1.17,1.69) vs. 2.23 (1.83,2.78)] in patients with progressive organ dysfunction were significantly higher than those in patients without(P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis suggested that Pv-aCO2/Ca-vO2 (OR=20.48,95%CI 5.25-79.93,P<0.001) was independent risk factors for predicting organ dysfunction. The cutoff value of Pv-aCO2/Ca-vO2 was equal or more than 1.77 with a sensitivity of 80.00% and a specificity of 79.73%. Compared with those with Pv-aCO2/Ca-vO2<1.77, patients with Pv-aCO2/Ca-vO2≥1.77 had a greater probability of progressive organ dysfunction (47.37% vs. 8.20%, P<0.001). Conclusion: The progression of organ dysfunction in septic patients after resuscitation is associated with poor prognosis. Pv-aCO2/Ca-vO2 is a good indicator to evaluate oxygen metabolism and predict the progression of organ dysfunction.

Abstract
This study aimed to address the lack of information on the male germ cell seasonal development of domesticated tree shrews (Tupaia belangeri chinensis). Testicular tissues were collected from 60 tree shrews (n=5 per month). The ultrastructures of the testes and spermatids were examined via transmission electron microscopy. Apoptosis of spermatogenic cells was measured through terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining. The expression of proliferation factors, namely, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and Ki67, in testicular tissues was assayed through immunohistochemistry. Spermatids ultrastructure showed seasonal differences, and spermatogenesis was relatively active in June and July and relatively stagnant from October to November. The percentage of TUNEL-positive germ cells was less during October and November, while greater in July than other phases. The number of PCNA-nucleus-positive germ cells was most in June and July, but with cytoplasm staining from October to November. Ki67 presented positive expression in the testes from April to September, with highest expression in June, but with no expression from October to March. In summary, there are seasonal differences in tissue morphology related to spermatogenesis in domesticated tree shrews. PCNA expression and Ki67 expression are good indicators of seasonal differences in male germ cells.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Spinal anesthesia is the standard for elective cesarean section but spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension remains an important problem. Accurate prediction of hypotension could enhance clinical decision-making, alter management, and facilitate early intervention. We performed a systematic review of predictors of spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension and their predictive value during cesarean section. METHODS PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar and Web of Science databases were searched for prospective observational studies assessing the diagnostic accuracy of predictors of spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension in elective cesarean section. The quality of studies was assessed and predictors were grouped in domains based on the type of predictor. RESULTS Thirty-eight studies (n=3086 patients) were included. In most studies, patients received 500-1000 mL crystalloid preload or 500-2000 mL crystalloid coload. Vasopressors for post-spinal hypotension were boluses of ephedrine 5-15 mg and/or phenylephrine 25-100 µg in most studies. The hypotension rate varied from 29% to 80% based on the definition. For analysis, >30 predictors were classified into seven domains: demographic characteristics, baseline hemodynamic variables, baseline sympathovagal balance, postural stress testing, peripheral perfusion indices, blood volume and fluid responsiveness indices, and genetic polymorphism. CONCLUSIONS Environmental and individual factors increased outcome variability, which restricted the value of the autonomic nervous system and peripheral perfusion indices for prediction of spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension. Supine stress tests may reflect parturients' cardiovascular tolerance during hemodynamic fluctuations and may optimize the predictive value of static state predictors. Future research for predicting spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension should focus on composite and dynamic parameters during the supine stress tests.

Abstract
The article describes our exploration of a sialendoscopy-assisted transfacial sialolithotomy approach to intraparenchymal stones in the submandibular gland with gland preservation. Five patients with large intraparenchymal stones in the submandibular gland were included. Ultrasonography and computed tomograms (CT) were performed to locate the stones. As the large stones failed to be retrieved during endoscopy, patients were treated by a transfacial lithotomy approach with sialendoscopy. The glands were preserved in all cases. This approach can be considered an optional technique for the treatment of large intraparenchymal stones in the submandibular gland that fail to be removed during a transoral procedure.
