Abstract
The Cryogenic Dark Matter Search low ionization threshold experiment (CDMSlite) achieved efficient detection of very small recoil energies in its germanium target, resulting in sensitivity to lightly ionizing particles (LIPs) in a previously unexplored region of charge, mass, and velocity parameter space. We report first direct-detection limits calculated using the optimum interval method on the vertical intensity of cosmogenically produced LIPs with an electric charge smaller than e/(3×10^{5}), as well as the strongest limits for charge ≤e/160, with a minimum vertical intensity of 1.36×10^{-7} cm^{-2} s^{-1} sr^{-1} at charge e/160. These results apply over a wide range of LIP masses (5 MeV/c^{2} to 100 TeV/c^{2}) and cover a wide range of βγ values (0.1-10^{6}), thus excluding nonrelativistic LIPs with βγ as small as 0.1 for the first time.

Abstract
We present limits on spin-independent dark matter-nucleon interactions using a 10.6 g Si athermal phonon detector with a baseline energy resolution of σ_{E}=3.86±0.04(stat)_{-0.00}^{+0.19}(syst) eV. This exclusion analysis sets the most stringent dark matter-nucleon scattering cross-section limits achieved by a cryogenic detector for dark matter particle masses from 93 to 140 MeV/c^{2}, with a raw exposure of 9.9 g d acquired at an above-ground facility. This work illustrates the scientific potential of detectors with athermal phonon sensors with eV-scale energy resolution for future dark matter searches.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Drug-related problems (DRPs) are common in hospitalized patients receiving Key Monitoring Drugs. Clinical pharmacy services have the potential to minimize drug-related harm and improve patient care. The aim of this study is to standardize the clinical application of Key Monitoring Drugs and reduce drug-related problems (DRPs) and associated costs, using clinical pharmacist interventions. PATIENTS AND METHODS Clinical pharmacists formulate management measures for Key Monitoring Drugs using evidence-based medicine and analyze the DRPs of Key Monitoring Drugs in China at the Shandong Provincial Third Hospital over a period of five years, from 2015 to 2019. RESULTS In 2019, the total cost of the use of Key Monitoring Drugs decreased by 10.12 million CNY, in comparison with the cost in 2015. The proportion of revenue generated from Key Monitoring Drugs also decreased by 11.49% compared with 2015. In addition, the cost per capita of Key Monitoring Drugs has gradually decreased; this resulted in a saving of 580.07 CNY per capita in 2019 compared with 2015. Over this time, the DRPs associated with Key Monitoring Drugs decreased by 45.50%. Through administrative intervention, prescription review, information management, and pharmaco-economic evaluation, a scientific management system for Key Monitoring Drugs has been established over this time, which standardizes the use of Key Monitoring Drugs and reduces their associated costs. CONCLUSIONS Clinical pharmacists' interventions can assist in the early detection of drug-related problems associated with Key Monitoring Drugs and prevent any resulting harm to patients.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary liver cancer with extremely high mortality in worldwide. HCC is hard to diagnose and has a poor prognosis due to the less understanding of the molecular pathological mechanisms and the regulation mechanism on immune cell infiltration during hepatocarcinogenesis. Herein, by performing multiple bioinformatics analysis methods, including the RobustRankAggreg (RRA) rank analysis, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and a devolution algorithm (CIBERSORT), we first identified 14 hub genes (NDC80, DLGAP5, BUB1B, KIF20A, KIF2C, KIF11, NCAPG, NUSAP1, PBK, ASPM, FOXM1, TPX2, UBE2C, and PRC1) in HCC, whose expression levels were significantly up-regulated and negatively correlated with overall survival time. Moreover, we found that the expression of these hub genes was significantly positively correlated with immune infiltration cells, including regulatory T cells (Treg), T follicular helper (TFH) cells, macrophages M0, but negatively correlated with immune infiltration cells including monocytes. Among these hub genes, KIF2C and UBE2C showed the most significant correlation and were associated with immune cell infiltration in HCC, which was speculated as the potential prognostic biomarker for guiding immunotherapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as pivotal participants of various tumors. This manuscript focuses on the function of lncRNA linc01433 (linc01433) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) development. PATIENTS AND METHODS Quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to detect expressions of linc01433 and microRNA-1301 (miR-1301) in ESCC tissues and cells. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and colony formation assays were used to verify proliferative ability changes in ESCC influenced by linc01433 and miR-1303. Wound healing and transwell assays were chosen to determine migratory ability in ESCC cells. RESULTS Linc01433 was abnormally up-regulated in ESCC tissues and cells. High level of linc01433 was positively correlated with tumor size and lymph node metastasis in ESCC patients. Up-regulation of linc01433 promoted cell proliferation and migration. MiR-1301 was a potential target of linc01433, and its level was negatively regulated by linc01433. MiR-1301 was responsible for linc01433-regulated proliferation and migration of ESCC. CONCLUSIONS Linc01433 participated in ESCC progression by regulating miR-1301 and it could function as a novel biomarker in ESCC diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
The deep circumflex iliac artery perforator flap with iliac crest (DCIAPF) is considered a favourable single-flap option for oromandibular reconstruction. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of venous superdrainage using the superficial circumflex iliac vein (SCIV) in the DCIAPF for oromandibular reconstruction. The data of 22 patients (12 female, 10 male) aged 10-76 years (median 53 years) who underwent simultaneous oromandibular reconstruction with a DCIAPF were reviewed retrospectively. Eleven patients received the DCIAPF with SCIV for superdrainage (group A) and another 11 patients received the conventional single-pedicled DCIAPF flap (group B). No flap loss occurred in either group. Venous congestion due to relative venous insufficiency was significantly more frequent in group B (P=0.045). There was no significant difference in the incidence of partial flap necrosis and wound dehiscence, or in the total operation time between the two groups. Superdrainage using the SCIV has the potential to reduce the incidence of venous congestion due to relative venous insufficiency in DCIAPF used for oromandibular reconstruction.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To explore the magnitude of leg-length change after the unilateral index unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) in varus knee and its influence on clinical outcomes. METHODS A total of 114 patients with bilateral knee osteoarthritis who underwent unilateral UKA from June 2015 to June 2017 were included and followed up for at least 2 years. The leg length and hip-knee angle were measured on full-length standing films before and after the surgery. Flexion contracture was evaluated using a goniometer with the patient in the standing position preoperatively and postoperatively. Hospital for Special Surgery scores, perceived leg-length discrepancy (pLLD), the occurrence, and the time interval of subsequent contralateral knee arthroplasty were recorded and analyzed. RESULTS The average leg length increased after UKA was 9.39 ± 11.24 mm (range -21.00 to 33.79 mm), and 90 (78.9%) patients showed an increase in the leg length. 35 patients had LLD (defined as ≥10 mm), and 25 presented pLLD preoperatively; 25 patients had LLD, and 45 were suspected with pLLD postoperatively. At the last follow-up, 26 patients underwent subsequent contralateral knee arthroplasty. Postoperative LLD and pLLD were not associated with Hospital for Special Surgery scores of UKA but associated with subsequent contralateral knee arthroplasty. CONCLUSIONS LLD and pLLD were common in patients both before and after UKA. Most patients showed leg lengthening after UKA. Postoperative LLD and pLLD were not associated with functional scores but associated with a subsequent contralateral knee arthroplasty.

Abstract
The article describes our exploration of a sialendoscopy-assisted transfacial sialolithotomy approach to intraparenchymal stones in the submandibular gland with gland preservation. Five patients with large intraparenchymal stones in the submandibular gland were included. Ultrasonography and computed tomograms (CT) were performed to locate the stones. As the large stones failed to be retrieved during endoscopy, patients were treated by a transfacial lithotomy approach with sialendoscopy. The glands were preserved in all cases. This approach can be considered an optional technique for the treatment of large intraparenchymal stones in the submandibular gland that fail to be removed during a transoral procedure.

Abstract
Oral mucositis and taste dysfunction are frequently complained by patients with head and neck cancer receiving radiotherapy, challenging the clinical outcome of cancer treatment. Recent studies have indicated the protective role of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in radiation-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) and its pivotal role in the development and self-renewal of taste buds. The current study hypothesizes that lithium chloride (LiCl), a potent activator of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, can promote the postirradiation restoration of oral mucosa integrity and taste function. To validate this hypothesis, we established a RIOM mouse model and evaluated the treatment efficacy of LiCl on oral mucositis and taste dysfunction in comparison with keratinocyte growth factor (KGF), an agent approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for oral mucositis. The results showed that LiCl alleviated the weight loss and tongue ulceration of RIOM mice, promoted proliferation of basal epithelial cells, and inhibited epithelial-mesenchymal transition in tongue mucosa. More important, elevated taste bud renewal and dysgeusia recovery toward sweetness were observed in RIOM mice treated with LiCl as compared to those treated by KGF. Collectively, our data demonstrate that LiCl can mitigate oral mucositis and rescue taste alteration induced by irradiation, and activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling may represent a promising therapy to improve the quality of life of patients receiving radiotherapy.

Abstract
Nasal alar defects lead to facial disfigurement, and nasal ala reconstruction is an important treatment option. The vascularized composite auricular flap based on the superficial temporal artery is an ideal option for a full-thickness nasal alar defect. However, the pedicle length and the discrepancy in artery diameter between the recipient vessel and flap pedicle continue to be major problems for free auricular composite tissue transfer. Considering that the angular artery is occasionally absent and the course of the infraorbital segment of the facial vein is constant, there are often no suitable vessels around the recipient site for anastomoses to the short pedicle of the flap. In the absence of a suitable recipient artery, an infraorbital segment of the facial vein measuring 2.5cm in length was taken as a graft for the anastomosis of the superficial temporal artery and superior labial artery. End-to-end anastomosis was performed easily. The flap was inset to reconstruct the contralateral ala. The facial vein graft for anastomosis of the superficial temporal artery and branch of the facial artery is a reliable and easy method to resolve the problem of a short pedicle and large artery discrepancy for nasal ala reconstruction with a vascularized composite helical rim flap.

Abstract
Enamel formation is a serial and complex biological process, during which related genes are expressed progressively in a spatiotemporal manner. This process is vulnerable to environmental cues, resulting in developmental defects of enamel (DDE). However, how environmental factors are biologically integrated during enamel formation is still poorly understood. Here, we investigated the mechanism of DDE elicited by a model endocrine-disrupting chemical, bisphenol A (BPA), in mouse incisors. We show that BPA exposure leads to DDE in mouse incisors, as well as excessive proliferation in dental epithelial stem/progenitor cells. Western blotting, chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing, and immunofluorescence staining revealed that this effect was accompanied by upregulation of a repressive mark, H3K27me3, in the labial cervical loop of mouse incisors. Perturbation of H3K27me3 methyltransferase EZH2 repressed the level of H3K27me3 and partially attenuated the excessive proliferation in dental epithelial stem/progenitor cells and DDE induced by BPA exposure. Overall, our results demonstrate the essential role of repressive histone modification H3K27me3 in DDE elicited by exposure to an endocrine-disrupting chemical.

Abstract
Powdery mildew is the main disease affecting cucumber cultivation and causes severe economic loss. So far, research on cucumber resistance to powdery mildew has not yielded feasible solutions. This study selected two inbred cucumber lines, XY09-118 (resistant) and Q10 (susceptible) and investigated their responses to powdery mildew infection (harvested 24 and 48 h after inoculation) using RNA sequencing. More than 20,000 genes were detected in cucumber leaves both with and without powdery mildew infection at the above two time points. Among these, 5478 genes were identified as differently expressed genes (DEGs) between XY09-118 and Q10. Based on the databases GO and KEGG, the functions of DEGs were analysed. Moreover, the complex regulatory network for powdery mildew resistance was assessed, which involves plant hormone signal transduction, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, plant-pathogen interaction and the MAPK signalling pathway. In particular, genes encoding WRKY, NAC and TCP were highlighted. In addition, genes involved in plant hormone biosynthesis, metabolism and signal transduction, pathogen resistance and abiotic stress response were analysed. Co-expression analysis indicated that the transcription factors correlated with plant hormone signal pathway and metabolism, defence and abiotic response. The expression of several genes was validated by qRT-PCR. The pathogen resistance regulatory network was identified by comparing resistant and susceptible inbred lines infected with powdery mildew. The transcriptome data provide novel insights into cucumber response to powdery mildew infection and the identified pathogen resistance genes will be highly useful for breeding efforts to enhance the resistance of cucumber to powdery mildew.

Abstract
AIM To evaluate the lung function of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients using oxygen-enhanced (OE) ultrashort echo time (UTE) MRI. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-nine patients with COVID-19 were included in the study. The OE-MRI was based on a respiratory-gated three-dimensional (3D) radial UTE sequence. For each patient, the percent signal enhancement (PSE) map was calculated using the expression PSE = (S100% – S21%)/S21%, where S21% and S100% are signals acquired during room air and 100% oxygen inhalation, respectively. Agreement of lesion detectability between UTE-MRI and computed tomography (CT) was performed using the kappa test. The Mann–Whitney U-test was used to evaluate the difference in the mean PSE between mild-type COVID-19 and common-type COVID-19. Spearman's test was used to assess the relationship between lesion mean PSE and lesion size. Furthermore, the Mann–Whitney U-test was used to evaluate the difference in region of interest (ROI) mean PSE between normal pulmonary parenchyma and lesions. The Kruskal–Wallis test was applied to test the difference in the mean PSE between different lesion types. RESULTS CT and UTE-MRI reached good agreement in lesion detectability. Ventilation measures in mild-type patients (5.3 ± 5.5%) were significantly different from those in common-type patients (3 ± 3.9%). Besides, there was no significant correlation between lesion mean PSE and lesion size. The mean PSE of COVID-19 lesions (3.2 ± 4.9%) was significantly lower than that of the pulmonary parenchyma (5.4 ± 3.9%). No significant difference was found among different lesion types. CONCLUSION OE-UTE-MRI could serve as a promising method for the assessment of lung function or treatment management of COVID-19 patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Assessment of cost-effectiveness of interventions to address modifiable risk factors associated with dementia requires estimates of long-term impacts of these interventions which are rarely directly available and must be estimated using a range of assumptions. OBJECTIVES To test the cost-effectiveness of dementia prevention measures using a methodology which transparently addresses the many assumptions required to use data from short-term studies, and which readily incorporates sensitivity analyses. DESIGN We explore an approach to estimating cost-effective prices which uses aggregate data including estimated lifetime costs of dementia, both financial and quality of life, and incorporates a range of assumptions regarding sustainability of short- term gains and other parameters. SETTING The approach is addressed in the context of the theoretical reduction in a range of risk factors, and in the context of a specific small-scale trial of an internet-based intervention augmented with diet and physical activity consultations. MEASUREMENTS The principal outcomes were prices per unit of interventions at which interventions were cost-effective or cost-saving. RESULTS Taking a societal perspective, a notional intervention reducing a range of dementia risk-factors by 5% was cost-effective at $A460 per person with higher risk groups at $2,148 per person. The on-line program costing $825 per person was cost-effective at $1,850 per person even if program effect diminished by 75% over time. CONCLUSIONS Interventions to address risk factors for dementia are likely to be cost-effective if appropriately designed, but confirmation of this conclusion requires longer term follow-up of trials to measure the impact and sustainability of short-term gains.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Ovarian cancer (OC) is a common tumor in women, and the development of chemoresistance is the major obstacle to its treatment. Long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) have been linked to chemoresistance in many cancers. However, the function of lncRNA urothelial carcinoma associated1 (UCA1) in paclitaxel (PTX) resistance of OC is not well elucidated. PATIENTS AND METHODS Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression of UCA1, microRNA-654-5p (miR-654-5p) and salt inducible kinase 2 (SIK2). Cell PTX resistance and proliferation were evaluated by 3-(4, 5-dimethyl-2 thiazolyl)-2, 5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. The abilities of apoptosis, migration and invasion were measured by Flow cytometry and Transwell assays, respectively. Dual-luciferase reporter assay was used to verify the interaction among UCA1, miR-654-5p and SIK2. Besides, Western blot analysis was performed to assess the protein level of SIK2. RESULTS UCA1 was markedly upregulated in OC tissues and PTX-resistant OC cells. Silencing of UCA1 restrained the PTX resistance, reduced the proliferation, migration, invasion and enhanced the apoptosis of PTX-resistant OC cells. MiR-654-5p could be sponged by UCA1, and the inhibitory effect of its overexpression on the progression of PTX-resistant OC cells could be reversed by overexpressed-UCA1. Moreover, SIK2 was a target of miR-654-5p. Silencing of SIK2 could hinder the PTX resistance and suppress the progression of PTX-resistant OC cells, while miR-654-5p inhibitor could invert this inhibitory effect. Also, the expression of SIK2 was regulated by miR-654-5p and UCA1 expression. CONCLUSIONS LncRNA UCA1 plays an active role in PTX resistance of OC and is crucial to maintain the development of PTX resistance in OC, which provides a new therapeutic target for the study of OC chemoresistance.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to explore the expression of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) KCNQ1OT1 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and to elucidate its clinical significance. PATIENTS AND METHODS The quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression of lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 in NSCLC tissues and para-cancer tissues (5 cm or above away from the tumor). The relation between lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 expression and the clinical-pathological data was analyzed by the multivariate logistic regression analysis. Furthermore, the survival analysis was performed by the Kaplan-Meier method. RESULTS The expression of lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 increased significantly in NSCLC tissues than that of in para-cancer tissues. According to the median expression of lncRNA KCNQ1OT1, NSCLC patients were divided into two groups, including high expression group and low expression group. Meanwhile, the lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 expression was correlated with tumor size, tumor node metastasis (TNM) staging, and lymph node metastasis of NSCLC patients. Both univariate analysis and multivariate analysis indicated that the high expression of lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 was closely related to TNM staging and lymph node metastasis. In addition, the Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the overall survival and progression-free survival time of patients with higher lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 expression were significantly worse than those with lower lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 expression. CONCLUSIONS LncRNA KCNQ1OT1 might contribute to the development of NSCLC.

Abstract
We wished to investigate the outcome of surgery combined with external-beam radiotherapy (EBRT) or brachytherapy (125I seeds) for the treatment of primary adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the oral and maxillofacial region. Data of patients with primary ACC were reviewed retrospectively. Patients were divided into EBRT and brachytherapy groups. Wide tumor excision was done to achieve negative margins. Standard radiotherapy in the EBRT group was 60 Gy. A treatment-planning system was used to create implantation plans with a prescribed dose of 60-120 Gy and 125I seeds were implanted postoperatively. Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank tests were used to analyze local control and survival. The median duration of followup was 66.1 and 46.8 months for the EBRT group and brachytherapy group, respectively. There was no significant difference in local control, control of metastasis to regional lymph nodes, or control of distant metastasis between the two groups. There was no significant difference in overall survival, disease-specific survival, or disease-free survival in the two groups at 3 years and 5 years. The prevalence of complications in the brachytherapy group was lower than that in the EBRT group. Both methods elicited good treatment effects, but the prevalence of adverse events was lower in the brachytherapy group.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association of cadmium exposure with liver function among adults in a non-ferrous metal mining area in Guangxi. Methods: A total of 310 residents aged 18 and above were recruited from 5 heavy metals polluted villages in a non-ferrous metal mining area in Guangxi from 2013 to 2014. The general demographic characteristics, blood cadmium levels and indicators of liver function index [Total bilirubin (TBIL), Glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (AST), Alanine transaminase (ALT) and Glutamine transaminase (GGT)] were obtained by using questionnaire, physical examination and laboratory test. The blood cadmium levels were divided into quartiles as Q1-Q4 groups (using Q1 group as the reference).Multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the correlation between the blood cadmium level and functional liver index. Results: The age of subjects was (49.2±15.4) years, and 112 (36.1%) subjects were male residents. The prevalence of abnormal rates of TBIL,AST,ALT and GGT were 17.4% (54), 19.7% (61), 10.7% (33) and 11.9% (37), respectively. The geometric mean value of cadmium levels in adults was 3.72(95%CI: 3.43-4.02) μg/L. After adjusting for age, gender, body mass index (BMI), smoking, drinking, total cholesterol, hypertriglyceridemia and other factors, the risk of abnormal AST index in the highest concentration of blood cadmium group (Q4) was higher than that in the lowest concentration of blood cadmium group (Q1) (OR=2.92, 95%CI:1.07-7.98). Conclusion: The level of blood cadmium exposure is higher than the reference value of general population in China, and the elevated cadmium exposure is related to the increasing risk of AST abnormality.
