Abstract
Graphene fibers (GFs) are attractive materials for wearable electronics because of their lightness, superior flexibility, and electrical conductivity. However, the hydrophobic nature and highly stacked structure endow GFs similar characteristics in nature to solid carbon fibers. Therefore, the interior functionalization of GFs so as to achieve synergistic interaction between graphene nanosheets and active materials thus enhance the performance of hybrid fibers remains a challenge. Herein, a general metal-ion mediated strategy is developed to functionalize GFs and nanoparticles of Cu, Fe2O3, NiO, and CoO are successfully incorporated into GFs, respectively. As proof-of-concept applications, the obtained functionalized GFs are used as electrodes for electrochemical sensors and supercapacitors. The performances of thus-devised fiber sensor and supercapacitor are greatly improved.

Abstract
Solution-based techniques are considered as a promising strategy for scalable fabrication of flexible electronics owing to their low-cost and high processing speed. The key to the success of these techniques is dominated by the ink formulation of active nanomaterials. This work successfully prepares a highly concentrated two dimensional (2D) crystal ink comprised of ultrathin nickel hydroxide (Ni(OH)2 ) nanosheets with an average lateral size of 34 nm. The maximum concentration of Ni(OH)2 nanosheets in water without adding any additives reaches as high as 50 mg mL-1 , which can be printed on arbitrary substrates to form Ni(OH)2 thin films. As a proof-of-concept application, Ni(OH)2 nanosheet ink is coated on commercialized carbon fiber yarns to fabricate wearable energy storage devices. The thus-fabricated hybrid supercapacitors exhibit excellent flexibility with a capacitance retention of 96% after 5000 bending-unbending cycles, and good weavability with a high volumetric capacitance of 36.3 F cm-3 at a current density of 0.4 A cm-3 , and an energy density of 11.3 mWh cm-3 at a power density of 0.3 W cm-3 . As a demonstration of practical application, a red light emitting diode can be lighted up by three hybrid devices connected in series.

Abstract
Pancreatic cancer is among the deadliest malignancies; however, the genetic events that lead to pancreatic carcinogenesis in adults remain unclear. In vivo models in which these genetic alterations occur in adult animals may more accurately reflect the features of human cancer. In this study, we demonstrate that inactivation of Cdkn2b (p15ink4b) is necessary for induction of pancreatic cancer by oncogenic KRASG12D expression and inactivation of Tp53 and Cdkn2a in adult mouse pancreatic ductal cells (P60 or older). KRASG12D overexpression in these cells activated transforming growth factor-β signaling and expression of CDKN2B, which, along with CDKN2A, led to cellular senescence and protected cells from KRAS-mediated transformation via inhibition of retinoblastoma phosphorylation. These results show a critical role of CDKN2B inactivation in pancreatic carcinogenesis, and provide a useful adult animal model by genetic engineering via lentiviral delivery.

Abstract
Infrared spectra of matrix isolated dibridged Si(μ-H)2MH2 and tribridged Si(μ-H)3MH molecules (M = Zr and Hf) were observed following the laser-ablated metal atom reactions with SiH4 during condensation in excess argon and neon, but only the latter species was observed with titanium. Assignments of the major vibrational modes, which included terminal MH, MH2 and hydrogen bridge Si-H-M stretching modes, were confirmed by the appropriate SiD4 isotopic shifts and density functional vibrational frequency calculations (B3LYP and BPW91). The Si-H-M hydrogen bridge bond is calculated as weak covalent interaction and compared with the C-H···M agostic interaction in terms of electron localization function (ELF) analysis and noncovalent interaction index (NCI) calculations. Furthermore, the different products of Ti, Zr, and Hf reactions with SiH4 are discussed in detail.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the characteristics and outcomes of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in Chinese term infants population. METHODS A national neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis network was established. Neonates as having necrotizing enterocolitis with gestation age ≥37 weeks were identified if they met the accepted diagnostic criterion during the study period from Jan 1(st) 2011 to Dec 31(st) 2011. The data of maternal and neonates' characteristics, the comorbidities, the clinical interventions prior to NEC, the clinical courses and radiology results, the medical and surgical treatment and the outcomes were collected. SPSS 19.0 software was used to do statistic analysis. Logistic-regression models were used to analyze the risk factors for death in infants with NEC, odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. RESULTS There were 231 067 newborn infants, 164 307 of them were term infants, admitted to 95 hospitals in main land China. There were 718 term infants were diagnosed as necrotizing enterocolitis with the incidence of 0.44%. There were 294 term infants cases identified as ≥stage 2 necrotizing enterocolitis for the analysis, including 193 cases of stage 2 and 101 cases of stage 3.The mean gestation age was (39.0±1.3) weeks, and the mean birth weight was(3 087.4±548.3)g. The percentage of small for gestation age was 20.4%. The onset age of NEC was 5 (2-11)d. The percentage of cases received breast milk feeding was 23.7%. The most common comorbidities were sepsis (9.5%, 28/294), asphyxia (9.5%, 28/294), pneumonia (7.8%, 23/294) and congenital megacolon (7.5%, 22/294). The bowel perforation rate was 13.9%. The rate of cases who received surgical treatment was 25.2%(76.6% small intestinal necrosis and 65.8% small intestinal perforation). The mortality rate was 28.9%(the mortality rate were 20.7% and 44.6% in stage 2 and stage 3 NEC, respectively). Noninvasive continuous positive airway pressure treatment for NEC (OR=5.278, 95% CI: 2.058-13.533, P<0.01) and NEC staging 3 (OR=3.156, 95% CI: 1.766-5.642, P<0.01) were statistically significantly associated with mortality of NEC. CONCLUSIONS The term infants with necrotizing enterocolitis usually have the underlying comorbidities. The breastmilk feeding rate is low. Necrotizing enterocolitis remains high mortality in term neonates in Chinese neonatal units. Noninvasive continuous positive airway pressure treatment for NEC is statistically significantly associated with mortality of NEC.

Abstract
Solid-state fiber-based supercapacitors have been considered promising energy storage devices for wearable electronics due to their lightweight and amenability to be woven into textiles. Efforts have been made to fabricate a high performance fiber electrode by depositing pseudocapacitive materials on the outer surface of carbonaceous fiber, for example, crystalline manganese oxide/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MnO2/MWCNTs). However, a key challenge remaining is to achieve high specific capacitance and energy density without compromising the high rate capability and cycling stability. In addition, amorphous MnO2 is actually preferred due to its disordered structure and has been proven to exhibit superior electrochemical performance over the crystalline one. Herein, by incorporating amorphous MnO2 onto a well-aligned MWCNT sheet followed by twisting, we design an amorphous MnO2@MWCNT fiber, in which amorphous MnO2 nanoparticles are distributed in MWCNT fiber uniformly. The proposed structure gives the amorphous MnO2@MWCNT fiber good mechanical reliability, high electrical conductivity, and fast ion-diffusion. Solid-state supercapacitor based on amorphous MnO2@MWCNT fibers exhibits improved energy density, superior rate capability, exceptional cycling stability, and excellent flexibility. This study provides a strategy to design a high performance fiber electrode with microstructure control for wearable energy storage devices.

Abstract
The multi-channel three-wave polarimeter-interferometer system on J-TEXT tokamak has been exploited to measure far-forward collective scattering from electron density fluctuations. The diagnostic utilizes far infrared lasers operated at 432 μm with 17-channel vertical chords (3 cm chord spacing), covering the entire cross section of plasma. Scattering laser power is measured using a high-sensitivity Schottky planar diode mixer which can also detect polarimetric and interferometric phase simultaneously. The system provides a line-integrated measurement of density fluctuations with maximum measurable wave number: k⊥max ≤ 2 cm-1 and time response up to 350 kHz. Feasibility of the diagnostic has been tested, showing higher sensitivity to detect fluctuation than interferometric measurement. Capability of providing spatial-resolved information of fluctuation has also been demonstrated in preliminary experimental applications.

Abstract
Multiprotein bridging factor 2 (MBF2) was first isolated from the posterior silk gland of Bombyx mori. However, its function in B. mori is still unknown. Herein, MBF2 transcripts were detected mainly in the posterior silk gland and Malpighian tubules of B. mori larvae via a quantitative PCR analysis. An analysis of temporal expression patterns showed that the expression pattern of MBF2 was the opposite of that of the fibroin heavy chain (fibH) gene, as its expression was high during the fourth-instar moulting stage, decreased gradually during the fifth-instar feeding stage and disappeared at the end of the fifth-instar phase. Furthermore, bimolecular fluorescent complementation and Far-Western blot assays showed that MBF2 interacted with the basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor Bmdimmed. Dual luciferase reporter assays showed that MBF2 down-regulated the promoter activity of fibH and inhibited the effect of Bmdimmed (Bmdimm) on fibH expression. MBF2 expression was induced in silk glands after treatment with 20-hydroxyecdysone in vivo and in vitro. These findings suggest that MBF2 is a transcriptional repressor that is involved in controlling the regulation of the fibH gene in the posterior silk gland by interacting with Bmdimm.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare disease-free survival (DFS) after maintenance therapy with the selective protein kinase C β (PKCβ) inhibitor, enzastaurin, versus placebo in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) in complete remission and with a high risk of relapse after first-line therapy. PATIENTS AND METHODS This multicenter, phase III, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial enrolled patients who were at high risk of recurrence after rituximab-cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone (R-CHOP). Patients (N = 758) with stage II bulky or stage III to IV DLBCL, three or more International Prognostic Index risk factors at diagnosis, and a complete response or unconfirmed complete response after 6 to 8 cycles of R-CHOP were assigned 2:1 to receive oral enzastaurin 500 mg daily or placebo for 3 years or until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. Primary end point was DFS 3 years after the last patient entered treatment. Correlative analyses of biomarkers, including cell of origin by immunohistochemistry and PKCβ expression, with efficacy outcomes were exploratory objectives. RESULTS After a median follow-up of 48 months, DFS hazard ratio for enzastaurin versus placebo was 0.92 (95% CI, 0.689 to 1.216; two-sided log-rank P = .541; 4-year DFS, 70% v 71%, respectively). Independent of treatment, no significant associations were observed between PKCβ protein expression or cell of origin and DFS or overall survival. CONCLUSION Enzastaurin did not significantly improve DFS in patients with high-risk DLBCL after achieving complete response to R-CHOP. Achievement of a complete response may have abrogated the prognostic significance of cell of origin by immunohistochemistry.

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to investigate the changes in the serum Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1) and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP-5b) levels in preschoolers with nephrotic syndrome (NS). A total of 50 preschoolers (3-5 years old) with NS and 20 healthy preschoolers (control group) were enrolled in the prospective single-center study. The patients with NS received glucocorticoid treatment and the control group received no treatment. The levels of serum calcium, phosphorus, TRACP-5b, DKK-1 and 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 were measured at baseline and at 3 and 6 months in all the subjects. The levels of DKK-1 and TRACP-5b were significantly higher in the NS group prior to treatment when compared to the control group (P<0.05), but did not differ significantly between the two groups following treatment (P>0.05). Therefore, DKK-1 and TRACP-5b can be used as biomarkers of bone formation and bone resorption, respectively, in the early evaluation of bone metabolism.

Beneficial effects of creatine phosphate sodium for the treatment of Henoch-Schönlein purpura in patients with early renal damage detected using urinary kidney injury molecule-1 levels. Abstract
UNLABELLED Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a small-vessel disease in children that is often accompanied by kidney damage. Despite many efforts to improve the early assessment of renal injury in HSP patients, effective markers are still lacking. In recent years, the relationship between kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) and tubulointerstitial injury has drawn much attention, especially regarding the diagnostic potential of serum and urinary KIM-1 levels. However, the diagnostic value of KIM-1 for detecting urinary kidney injury in HSP patients is still elusive. Furthermore, the treatment of Henoch-Schönlein purpura nephritis (HSPN) relies on the clinician's experience without performing renal biopsy, so it is important to find an effective biomarker and therapy. In the present study, we investigated the diagnostic value of urinary KIM-1 for early renal injury in HSP patients enrolled in a prospective, single-center study. Urinary KIM-1 levels were measured in 27 patients with HSP, 32 patients with HSPN (21 HSPN patients had undergone renal biopsy), and 16 healthy donors, as normal controls. The HSPN patients were randomly divided to receive either routine therapy (n = 13) or routine treatment combined with creatine phosphate sodium (CP) (n = 19). Urinary KIM-1 levels were significantly greater in the HSP and HSPN groups than those in the healthy control group (P < 0.01), and were significantly greater in the HSPN group than in the HSP group (P < 0.01). The urinary KIM-1 levels decreased significantly after 10-14 days of treatment with CP compared with conventional therapy (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Our results demonstrate the diagnostic value of KIM-1 and the therapeutic potential of CP for early renal damage in HSP patients. WHAT IS KNOWN Urine kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) is a sensitive biomarker for tubulointerstitial injury. Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP) usually presents with renal damage. WHAT IS NEW Our results suggest that the urinary KIM-1 level is a sensitive and specific biomarker for the detection of early renal damage in HSP and may predict the severity of HSP and HSPN. The administration of creatine phosphate sodium (CP) may reduce urinary KIM-1 levels and thus correct the hypoxic condition of the kidney. Preconditioning with CP may also be a useful adjunct for preventing early renal damage in HSPN patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE p38 MAPK regulates the production of cytokines in the tumor microenvironment and enables cancer cells to survive despite oncogenic stress, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapies. Ralimetinib (LY2228820 dimesylate) is a selective small-molecule inhibitor of p38 MAPK. This phase I study aimed to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ralimetinib, as a single agent and in combination with tamoxifen, when administered orally to patients with advanced cancer. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN The study design consisted of a dose-escalation phase performed in a 3+3 design (Part A; n = 54), two dose-confirmation phases [Part B at 420 mg (n = 18) and Part C at 300 mg (n = 8)], and a tumor-specific expansion phase in combination with tamoxifen for women with hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer refractory to aromatase inhibitors (Part D; n = 9). Ralimetinib was administered orally every 12 hours on days 1 to 14 of a 28-day cycle. RESULTS Eighty-nine patients received ralimetinib at 11 dose levels (10, 20, 40, 65, 90, 120, 160, 200, 300, 420, and 560 mg). Plasma exposure of ralimetinib (Cmax and AUC) increased in a dose-dependent manner. After a single dose, ralimetinib inhibited p38 MAPK-induced phosphorylation of MAPKAP-K2 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The most common adverse events, possibly drug-related, included rash, fatigue, nausea, constipation, pruritus, and vomiting. The recommended phase II dose was 300 mg every 12 hours as monotherapy or in combination with tamoxifen. Although no patients achieved a complete response or partial response,19 patients (21.3%) achieved stable disease with a median duration of 3.7 months, with 9 of these patients on study for ≥ 6 cycles. CONCLUSIONS Ralimetinib demonstrated acceptable safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics for patients with advanced cancer.

Abstract
Density modulation experiments have been conducted on Joint-TEXT (J-TEXT) Tokamak Ohmic discharge to investigate particle transport based on a model with constant diffusion plus inward convection. Like the HCN interferometer, the newly developed three-wave polarimeter-interferometer system (POLARIS) is used to measure the perturbed density. The comparison of results between the HCN interferometer and POLARIS is given. The consistent results indicate the validity of the analysis scheme. At lower densities, the typical particle confinement time τp is found to increase with electron density, while it saturates at higher densities.

Abstract
Metabolomics profiles of serum samples from women with chronic cervicitis, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), and cervical cancer were characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR). These spectral profiles were subjected to partial least-squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), and good discriminations between cancerand non-cancer groups (chronic cervicitis and CIN) were achieved by multivariate modeling of serum profiles. The main metabolites contributing to these discriminations, as highlighted by multivariate analysis and confirmed by spectral integration, were formate, tyrosine, β-glucose, inositol, glycine, carnitine, glutamine, acetate, alanine, valine, isoleucine, and very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). Metabolomics analysis for chronic cervicitis, CIN, and cervical cancer is significant, which give a systemic metabolic response of these female diseases. The systemic metabolic response may be used to identify the potential biomarkers for the diseases.

Abstract
Coupled shear (SH) elastic and electromagnetic (EM) waves propagating oblique to a one dimensional periodic piezoelectric and piezomagnetic composite are investigated using the transfer matrix method. Closed-form expression of the dispersion relations is derived. We find that the band structures of the periodic composite show simultaneously the features of phononic and photonic crystals. Strong interaction between the elastic and EM waves near the center of the Brillouin zone (i.e., phonon-polariton) is revealed. It is shown the elastic branch of the band structures is more sensitive to the piezoelectric effect while the phonon-polariton is more sensitive to the piezomagnetic effect of the composite.
