Abstract
Using a combination of adaptive genetic algorithm search, motif-network search scheme and first-principles calculations, we have systematically studied the low-energy crystal structures of Na2FeSiO4. We show that the low-energy crystal structures with different space group symmetries can be classified into several families based on the topologies of their Fe-Si networks. In addition to the diamond-like network which is shared by most of the low-energy structures, another three robust Fe-Si networks are also found to be stable during the charge/discharge process. The electrochemical properties of representative structures from these four different Fe-Si networks in Na2FeSiO4 and Li2FeSiO4 are investigated and found to be strongly correlated with the Fe-Si network topologies. Our studies provide a new route to characterize the crystal structures of Na2FeSiO4 and Li2FeSiO4 and offer useful guidance for the design of promising cathodes for Na/Li ion batteries.

Abstract
Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs) are efficient in extracting natural products. However, traditional organic solvents are toxic in the extraction of anthraquinones from Rheum palmatum L. To solve this problem, we applied natural deep eutectic solvent ultrasound-assisted extraction in this study for the extraction of total anthraquinones from R. palmatum L. Principal component analysis revealed that the selected NADES which consisted of lactic acid, glucose and water (LGH), was highly efficient in extracting anthraquinones from R. palmatum L. The ratio of lactic acid/glucose and the addition of water in LGH were investigated via a single-factor experiment. With a lactic acid/glucose ratio of 5 : 1 (mol/mol), and 10% of water (v/v), LGH had a high extraction yield to anthraquinones. Optimized by response surface methodology (RSM), the optimized extraction conditions of extraction time, extraction temperature and solvent-to-solid ratio of 1.5 h, 82 °C and 26 mL g−1, respectively. Under optimum conditions, the extraction yields of aloe-emodin, rhein, emodin, chrysophanol, physcion and total anthraquinones were 2.60 ± 0.01, 5.78 ± 0.02, 2.21 ± 0.02, 5.87 ± 0.02, 8.81 ± 0.01 and 25.27 ± 0.07 mg g−1, respectively. The enrichment and separation of five anthraquinones in LGH extraction solution were efficiently achieved using DM130 macroporous resin, with purities of 90.98%, 96.67%, 92.37%, 95.80% and 91.61% as indicated by HPLC, and recovery yields of 84.08%, 79.51%, 84.96%, 81.83% and 78.35%, respectively. LGH was environmentally friendly and highly efficient in extracting anthraquinones from R. palmatum L., and NADESs showed potential for the extraction of effective components from natural products. Abstract
Objective: To investigate whether Schisandrin B (Sch B) could improve cardiac structure and function in myocardial infarction (MI) mice and related mechanisms. Methods: Male C57BL/6J mice were randomized into sham (n=8), MI+ Sch B (n=24, 80 mg·kg(-1)·d(-1) per gavage) or MI+ vehicle (n=24, equal volume). After treatment for 3 weeks, cardiac function was detected by echocardiography measurement.Infarction size was measured by Evans blue and TTC staining.HE and Masson trichrome staining were used to observe the myocardial inflammation, structure and fibrosis.TNF-α, TGF-β, IL-1β were detected by ELISA. The apoptosis index of ischemic myocardial cells was detected by immunofluorescence. NF-κB, Bcl-2, Bax, Akt phosphorylated Akt(p-Akt), eNOS, phosphorylated eNOS (p-eNOS) were detected by Western blot. Results: Three weeks after operation, survival rate (83.33% vs. 54.17%, P<0.05), LVEF((51.77±8.50)% vs.(40.23±8.30)%, P<0.05), LVFS((26.44±5.15)% vs. (19.53±4.56)%, P<0.05)were significantly higher; LVEDD ((4.13±0.40) mm vs.(4.44±0.46)mm, P<0.05), LVESD((3.07±0.39) mm vs. (3.46±0.52)mm, P<0.05), the heart weight/body weight ratio((0.59±0.06)% vs. (0.68±0.10)%, P<0.05)was significantly lower and infarct size ((23.4±2.36)% vs. (39.4±2.06)%, P<0.05) was significantly reduced in MI+ Sch B group than those in MI+ vehicle group. In MI+ vehicle group, HE staining showed a large number of inflammatory cells in the peri-infarctl region, and the permutation structure was very disorganized, while above changes were significantly reduced in the MI+ Sch B group. Masson staining results showed that the degree of myocardial fibrosis in MI+ Sch B group was significantly less than that of MI+ vehicle group.Moreover, Sch B could down-regulate some inflammatory cytokines, like NF-κB、TGF-β、TNF-α and IL-1β, activate Akt-eNOS pathway, upgrade Bcl-2 and downgrade Bax and reduce cell apoptosis as compared with MI+ vehicle group (all P<0.05). Conclusions: Our results demonstrate that Sch B can reduce inflammation, inhibit apoptosis, and attenuate cardiac remodeling and improve cardiac function in this mice MI model.Sch B might serve as a potential novel therapeutic agent for ischemic heart disease.

Abstract
The western corn rootworm (WCR), a major pest of maize, is notorious for rapidly adapting biochemically, behaviourally and developmentally to a variety of control methods. Despite much effort, the genetic basis of WCR adaptation remains a mystery. Since transformation-based applications such as transposon tagging and enhancer trapping have facilitated genetic dissection of model species such as Drosophila melanogaster, we developed a germline-transformation system for WCR in an effort to gain a greater understanding of the basic biology of this economically important insect. Here we report the use of a fluorescent-marked Minos element to create transgenic WCR. We demonstrate that the transgenic strains express both an eye-specific fluorescent marker and piggyBac transposase. We identified insertion-site junction sequences via inverse PCR and assessed insertion copy number using digital droplet PCR (ddPCR). Interestingly, most WCR identified as transgenic via visual screening for DsRed fluorescence proved to carry multiple Minos insertions when tested via ddPCR. A total of eight unique insertion strains were created by outcrossing the initial transgenic strains to nontransgenic WCR mates. Establishing transgenic technologies for this beetle is the first step towards bringing a wide range of transformation-based tools to bear on understanding WCR biology.

Abstract
Analysis of the Vlasov-Maxwell equations from the perspective of turbulence cascade clarifies the role of electromagnetic work, and reveals the importance of the pressure-strain relation in generating internal energy. Particle-in-cell simulation demonstrates the relative importance of the several energy exchange terms, indicating that the traceless pressure-strain interaction "Pi-D" is of particular importance for both electrons and protons. The Pi-D interaction and the second tensor invariants of the strain are highly localized in similar spatial regions, indicating that energy transfer occurs preferentially in coherent structures. The collisionless turbulence cascade may be fruitfully explored by study of these energy transfer channels, in addition to examining transfer across spatial scales.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effect of the ischemic post-conditioning (IPC) on the prevention of the cardio-renal damage in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI). Methods: A total of 251 consecutive STEMI patients underwent PPCI in the heart center of Tianjin Third Central Hospital from January 2012 to June 2014 were enrolled in this prospective, randomized, control, single-blinded, clinical registry study. Patients were randomly divided into IPC group (123 cases) and control group (128 cases) with random number table. Patients in IPC group underwent three times of inflation/deflation with low inflation pressure using a balloon catheter within one minute after culprit vessel blood recovery, and then treated by PPCI. Patients in control group received PPCI procedure directly. The basic clinical characteristics, incidence of reperfusion arrhythmia during the procedure, the rate of electrocardiogram ST-segment decline, peak value of myocardial necrosis markers, incidence of contrast induced acute kidney injury(CI-AKI), and one-year major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE) which including myocardial infarction again, malignant arrhythmia, rehospitalization for heart failure, repeat revascularization, stroke, and death after the procedure were analyzed between the two groups. Results: The age of IPC group and control group were comparable((61.2±12.6) vs. (64.2±12.1) years old, P=0.768). The incidence of reperfusion arrhythmia during the procedure was significantly lower in the IPC group than in the control group(42.28% (52/123) vs. 57.03% (73/128), P=0.023). The rate of electrocardiogram ST-segment decline immediately after the procedure was significantly higher in the IPC group than in the control group (77.24% (95/123) vs. 64.84% (83/128), P=0.037). The peak value of myocardial necrosis markers after the procedure were significantly lower in the IPC group than in the control group(creatine kinase: 1 257 (682, 2 202) U/L vs. 1 737(794, 2 816)U/L, P=0.029; creatine kinase-MB: 123(75, 218)U/L vs.165(95, 288)U/L, P=0.010). The rate of CI-AKI after the procedure was significantly lower in the IPC group than in the control group(5.69%(7/123) vs. 14.06%(18/128), P=0.034). The rate of the one-year MACE was significantly lower in the IPC group than in the control group(7.32%(9/123) vs. 15.63% (20/128), P=0.040). Conclusion: The IPC strategy performed eight before PPCI can reduce myocardial ischemia- reperfusion injury, decline the rates of CI-AKI and one-year MACE significantly in STEMI patients, thus has a significant protective effect on heart and kidney in STEMI patients. Abstract
Objective: To explore the influence of collagen/fibroin scaffolds containing silver nanoparticles on dermal regeneration of full-thickness skin defect wound in rat. Methods: Eighty-one collagen/fibroin scaffolds containing silver nanoparticles (with the mass concentration of silver nanoparticles as 10 mg/L) and 81 collagen/fibroin scaffolds without silver nanoparticles were produced respectively with freeze-drying method and enrolled as silver nanoparticles scaffold group (SNS) and control scaffold group (CS). Nine scaffolds in each group were cultured with human fibroblasts. At post culture hour (PCH) 2, 12, and 24, the human fibroblasts adherent to the scaffolds (n=3) in two groups were counted. Four full-thickness skin defect wounds were reproduced on the back of each one of the 36 SD rats. The rats were divided into groups SNS (wounds were transplanted with collagen/fibroin scaffolds containing silver nanoparticles) and CS (wounds were transplanted with collagen/fibroin scaffolds without silver nanoparticles) according to the random number table, with 18 rats in each group. In post surgery week (PSW) 1, 2, and 4, 6 rats in each group were sacrificed respectively for general observation, observation of histological structure, inflammatory cell infiltration, and collagen deposition with HE staining, count of CD68 positive cells with immunohistochemical staining, and mRNA expressions of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-10 with real-time fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Data were processed with analysis of variance of factorial design, t test, and Bonferroni correction. Results: (1) At PCH 2, 12, and 24, the numbers of human fibroblasts adherent to the scaffolds in the two groups were close (with t values from 1.77 to 2.60, P values above 0.05). (2) In PSW 1, no obvious symptom of infection was observed in wound or wound edge of rats in group SNS with obvious vascularization of scaffolds, while obvious symptoms of infection were observed in wounds of rats in group CS with some scaffolds exfoliated. In PSW 2, the scaffolds were firmly attached to the wounds of rats in group SNS, while obvious contracture was observed in the wounds of rats in group CS with a lot of scaffolds exfoliated. In PSW 4, the scaffolds covered the wounds of rats in group SNS with obvious epithelization on the surface of the scaffolds, while all the scaffolds exfoliated, leaving obvious contracture of residual wounds of rats in group CS. (3) In PSW 1 and 2, compared with those in group CS, more collagen secretion and tissue regeneration and less inflammatory cell infiltration in the scaffolds were observed in the wounds of rats in group SNS. In PSW 4, obvious epithelization was observed in the wounds of rats in group SNS, while inflammatory cell infiltration was observed without obvious epithelization in the wounds of rats in group CS. (4) In PSW 1, the number of CD68 positive cells in the wounds of rats in group SNS [(54±10) /mm(2)] was similar to that in group CS [(78±7) /mm(2,) t=1.52, P>0.05]. In PSW 2 and 4, the numbers of CD68 positive cells in the wounds of rats in group SNS [(154±10) and (77±7) /mm(2)] were significantly less than those in group CS [(268±16) and (136±13) /mm(2,) with t values respectively 7.31 and 3.83, P values below 0.01] respectively. (5) Except for the expression in PSW 4 (t=1.23, P>0.05), the mRNA expressions of IL-6 in the wounds of rats in group SNS in PSW 1 and 2 were significantly lower than those in group CS (with t values respectively 13.12 and 4.65, P values below 0.01). Except for the expression in PSW 1 (t=3.08, P<0.05), the mRNA expressions of IL-10 in PSW 2 and 4 in the wounds of rats in the two groups were similar (with t values respectively 2.14 and 0.49, P values above 0.05). Conclusions: Besides good biocompatibility, collagen/fibroin scaffolds containing silver nanoparticles have obvious effect in modulating inflammation, thus they can accelerate dermal regeneration induced by collagen/fibroin scaffolds for wound repair.

Abstract
Objective: To retrospectively analyze the characteristics of events of bus on fire in 6 years in the mainland of China. Methods: Events of bus on fire happened between January 2009 and December 2014 were retrieved through Baidu search engine, Chinese Journals Full-text Database, and PubMed database in the search strategy with " bus" and " fire" or " arson" as keywords combined with the name of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities of the mainland of China. The occurrence time, region, cause of fire, casualties of each event were recorded, and the correlative analysis was conducted. Data were processed with Microsoft Excel software. Results: Totally 287 events of bus on fire were retrieved, among which 49 events happened in 2009, 36 events happened in 2010, 35 events happened in 2011, 37 events happened in 2012, and respectively 65 events happened in 2013 and 2014. The events of bus on fire most frequently happened in June and July, respectively 49 and 39 events. Among the distribution of occurrence regions of events of bus on fire, there were 78 events (27.18%) in east China, 52 events (18.12%) in northeast China, 41 events (14.29%) both in north China and south China. Among the causes of events of bus on fire, spontaneous combustion of bus ranked in the first (267 events, accounting for 93.03%), followed by arson (13 events, accounting for 4.53%). Among the 13 events of bus on fire caused by arson, 7 events happened between 16: 00 and 20: 00, and 3 events happened between 8: 00 and 10: 00. Totally 27 events of bus on fire (9.41%) were with casualties, among which 13 events (48.15%) were caused by spontaneous combustion of bus, 10 events (37.04%) were caused by arson, and 4 events (14.81%) were caused by traffic accidents. Arson caused the most severe casualties (at least 88 deaths and 287 injuries), followed by spontaneous combustion of bus (at least 35 deaths and 140 injuries) and traffic accidents (at least 9 deaths and 20 injuries). Conclusions: Events of bus on fire happened more frequently in recent years in the mainland of China, and the frequencies were much higher especially in June and July. Most events were caused by spontaneous combustion of bus, followed by arson. Most of the events of bus on fire caused by arson happened in the morning and evening rush hours of urban traffic, and althouth the occurrence rate was not high, the casualties were most severe.

Abstract
BAY 81-8973 (Kovaltry® , Bayer, Berkeley, CA, USA) is an unmodified, full-length recombinant human factor VIII (FVIII) approved for prophylaxis and on-demand treatment of bleeding episodes in patients with haemophilia A. The BAY 81-8973 manufacturing process is based on the process used for sucrose-formulated recombinant FVIII (rFVIII-FS), with changes and enhancements made to improve production efficiency, further augment pathogen safety, and eliminate animal- and human-derived raw materials from the production processes. The baby hamster kidney cell line used for BAY 81-8973 was developed by introducing the gene for human heat shock protein 70 into the rFVIII-FS cell line, a change that improved cell line robustness and productivity. Pathogen safety was enhanced by including a 20-nm filtration step, which can remove viruses, transmissible spongiform encephalopathy agents and potential protein aggregates. No human- or animal-derived proteins are added to the cell culture process, purification or final formulation. The BAY 81-8973 manufacturing process results in a product of enhanced purity with a consistently high degree of sialylation of N-linked glycans on the molecular surface. The innovative manufacturing techniques used for BAY 81-8973 yield an effective rFVIII product with a favourable safety profile for treatment of haemophilia A.

Abstract
Objective: To establish an animal model of pulmonary metastasis from nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and to investigate differential genes associated with pulmonary metastasis. Methods: CNE cell line was used to construct the stable metastasis CNE/Luc cell line which steadily expresses the fluorescent enzyme genes. The CNE/Luc cells were injected into immunodeficiency mice through tail vein, and with the in vivo imaging technology, the mice with pulmonary metastasis were filtered out. The pulmonary metastasis cells, were separated and injected into the tail vein of other nude mice to obtain the tissue-specificity metastasis cells confirmed by fluorescent imaging system. Based on the gene chip, the differential genes associated with pulmonary metastasis for NPC were found. Results: The gene expression profiles of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE/Luc and their lung metastasis-associated subpopulation CNE/Luc-2 were constructed by gene chip technology. Ten metastasis-related genes were screened by software analysis, namely as TP53, PIK3CA, MET, KRAS, VEGFA, EDNRB, GSK3B, FOXO3, SOD2, and BIRC3. Conclusions: Some genes including TP53, PIK3CA, MET, KRAS, VEGFA, EDNRB, GSK3B, FOXO3, SOD2, and BIRC3 are indicated to have important roles in the lung metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the resuscitation efficacy of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for non-postcardiotomy cardiac arrest adult patients post failed conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CCPR). Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of a total of 25 consecutive adults who suffered from non-postcardiotomy cardiac arrest and were treated with ECMO post failed CCPR in our hospital between January 2010 and January 2015. Inclusion criteria included: 18 to 75 years old; the duration from cardiac arrest to CCPR initiation<5 minutes; no recovery of spontaneous circulation within 10 min after implementation of standard CCPR, and the length of CCPR <90 minutes. Patients were divided into non-survival group (18 cases) and survival group (7 cases) based on their in-hospital outcome and the clinical characteristics were compared. Related factors of survival to discharge were analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results: Majority of patients (84.0%(21/25)) developed cardiac arrest in our hospital, mostly due to acute myocardial infarction (80.0%(20/25)). The mean duration of CCPR prior to ECMO support was 40.0 (27.5, 72.0) minutes. The mean duration of ECMO support was 72.0 (47.5, 128.3) hours and 9 patients (36.0%) were successfully weaned. Intensive care unit stay was significantly shorter (3.0(1.8-7.8)days vs.16.0(11.0-37.0) days, P<0.01), mean blood pressure at 24 and 48 hours after ECMO initiation was significantly lower ((73.2±20.1)mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) vs. (91.1±20.4)mmHg, P<0.05; (63.0±16.7)mmHg vs. (86.6±18.0 mmHg), P<0.05, respectively) and platelet count at 72 hours after extracorporeal support was significantly lower ((57.0±30.1)×109/L vs. (97.3±31.5)×109/L, P<0.05) in the non-survivor group than in survival group. Spearman correlation analysis demonstrated that mean arterial pressure at 24 hours (r=0.427, P<0.05) and 48 hours(r=0.558, P<0.05), and platelet count at 72 hours after extracorporeal support (r=0.577, P<0.05) were significantly correlated with survival to discharge. Conclusion: ECMO can be used as an effective alternative for refractory cardiac arrest in non-postcardiotomy adult patients.

Abstract
Alligators have robust regenerative potential for tooth renewal. In contrast, extant mammals can either renew their teeth once (diphyodont dentition, as found in humans) or not at all (monophyodont dentition, present in mice). Previously, the authors used multiple mitotic labeling to map putative stem cells in alligator dental laminae, which contain quiescent odontogenic progenitors. The authors demonstrated that alligator tooth cycle initiation is related to β-catenin/Wnt pathway activity in the dental lamina bulge. However, the molecular circuitry underlying the developmental progression of polyphyodont teeth remains elusive. Here, the authors used transcriptomic analyses to examine the additional molecular pathways related to the process of alligator tooth development. The authors collected juvenile alligator dental laminae at different developmental stages and performed RNA-seq. This data shows that Wnt, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP), and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) pathways are activated at the transition from pre-initiation stage (bud) to initiation stage (cap). Intriguingly, the activation of Wnt ligands, receptors and co-activators accompanies the inactivation of Wnt antagonists. In addition, the authors identified the molecular circuitry at different stages of tooth development. The authors conclude that multiple pathways are associated with specific stages of tooth development in the alligator. This data shows that Wnt pathway activation may play the most important role in the initiation of tooth development. This result may offer insight into ways to modulate the genetic controls involved in mammalian tooth renewal.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the impact of maxillofacial injury on skull base. METHODS A three-dimensional(3D)finite-element model of cranio-maxillofacial bone was established by CT scan data. A lead cylinder in base diameter of 3 cm was designed as an impactor. There regions(upper right maxilla, left infraorbital margin and left zygomatic body)subjected to an impact at the speed of 8.6 m/s(about 30 km/h)was simulated. Thirteen landmarks at the skull base were selected. The values of stress at the end of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 ms were obtained, and the results were analyzed. RESULTS The dynamic process of the fracture of the jaw and the stress distribution and conduction of the skull base were successfully simulated in three parts of the face. When the impact was on the right maxillary bone region, the stress values of the three points(medial foramen rotundum, medial foramen rotundum, anterior clivus reached the peak at each time point, 26.2, 22.4, 21.5 MPa(t=0.5 ms)and 70.0, 55.0, 45.0 MPa(t=1.0 ms)and 38.0, 26.5, 39.5 MPa(t=1.5 ms)and 26.0, 19.0, 23.0 MPa(t=2.0 ms), respectively. When the impact was on the left margo infraorbitalis orbitaeta region, the stress values of the two points(medial left foramen rotundum, posterior clivus)reached the peak at each time point, 8.8, 16.0 MPa(t=0.5 ms)and 10.0, 18.0 MPa(t=1.0 ms)and 5.5, 6.0 MPa(t=1.5 ms)and 11.5, 12.5 MPa(t=2.0 ms), respectively. When the impact was on the body of left zygomatic bone, the stress values of posterior clivus were 45.0 MPa(t=0.5 ms), 40.0 MPa(t=1.0 ms), 12.0 MPa(t=1.5 ms), 42.5 MPa(t= 2.0 ms), respectively. CONCLUSIONS According to the difference of stress distribution and conduction of maxillofacial and skull base bone, the speed and the path of force transfer to the skull base were different. Finite-element dynamic simulation can be used for the biomechanics research on maxillofacial trauma.

Abstract
Parvalbumins (PVALBs) are particularly abundant in the fast-contracting muscles and correlate positively with muscle relaxation speed in amphibians and fishes. MiRNAs play important roles in diverse biologic processes via binding to the 3' untranslated region (3'UTR) of the target mRNAs. In the study, four PVALB isoforms, named as PVALB1, 2, 3, and 4, were identified in the mandarin fish (Siniperca chuatsi) fast muscle and PVALB4 exhibited the highest expression level among them. By bioinformatics analysis, a putative miR-181a binding site in PVALB4 was detected and the direct interaction between miR-181a and PVALB4 was confirmed with the luciferase reporter assay. Further, when miR-181a was inhibited, it substantially increased PVALB4 mRNA expression level and the muscle relaxation rate in vivo. Taken together, the obtained results suggest that miRNA-181a/PVALB4 is an evolutionarily conserved miRNAtarget pair and their interaction is correlated with muscle relaxation rate in the mandarin fish. Therefore, the study revealed a novel molecular mechanism in the regulation of skeletal muscle relaxation in fish.

Abstract
BACKGROUND 5-HT1A receptors (HTR1As) in the insular cortex are thought to be related with the generation of stress-induced functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs), but its mechanism is not clear. Visceral hypersensitivity is one important pathophysiological mechanism of FGIDs. This study aimed to explore the role of HTR1As in mediating stress-induced visceral hypersensitivity and its mechanism in the insular cortex. METHODS Visceral hypersensitivity rat model was established by water avoidance stress (WAS) and the visceral sensitivity was measured by electromyogram. The activities of HTR1As were regulated by microinjecting the HTR1A agonist and antagonist into the insular cortex. The expression levels of 5-HT, HTR1A, N-methyl-d-aspartic acid receptor subtype 2B (NR2B) and c-fos were observed by RT-PCR, Western Blot and immunohistochemical staining. KEY RESULTS In WAS rats, the expression levels of 5-HT and HTR1As in the insular cortex were significantly lower (p < 0.05) than that in sham WAS and normal rats, but the levels of c-fos and NR2B were significantly higher (p < 0.05). After microinjecting HTR1As agonist into the insular cortex of WAS rats, the visceral sensitivity and the expression levels of NR2B and c-fos in insular cortex significantly decreased (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS & INFERENCES The HTR1As-NR2B signal pathway of insular cortex plays an important role in regulating stress-induced visceral hypersensitivity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer to affect women in the world. Studies showed tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes can exhibit both beneficial and harmful effects on the biology and clinical outcome of breast cancer, the conclusion still remains incomplete. Here, we conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the relationship between tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and breast cancer. METHODS A comprehensive search strategy was used to search relevant literatures in PubMed and the ISI Web of Science. The correlation among TILs and breast cancer clinicopathological features and prognosis was analyzed by using Review Manager 5.3 and Stata 12.0. RESULT Seventeen eligible studies consisting of 12,968 participants were included. We found that higher value of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes had no relationship with breast cancer clinicopathological variables. Interestingly, it was correlated with response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in majority (pooled RR 2.43, 95% CI 1.99-2.97). Moreover, higher value of total tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (both intraepithelial and stromal) was associated with better prognosis (pooled HR 0.88, 95% CI 0.83-0.94), whereas some subtypes predicted a worse prognosis. CONCLUSION This meta-analysis indicated that high value of total TILs is not associated with breast cancer clinicopathological features, but can predict a favorable outcome for neoadjuvant chemotherapy in majority except for hormone receptor (-) subtype. And higher total TILs (both intraepithelial TILs and stromal TILs) may be the potential better prognostic indicators, while some subtypes like PD-1(+) TILs and Foxp3(+) TILs show a worse prognosis.

Abstract
Myostatin (MSTN) is an important member of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily and is a muscle growth inhibitor. In the present study, we cloned the Chinese perch MSTN cDNA sequence and analyzed its expression patterns under various conditions. The MSTN full cDNA sequence was 3347 bp long, including an open-reading frame of 1131 bp, which encoded 376 amino acids. Sequence analysis demonstrated that the MSTN shared a highly conserved signal peptide, a TGF-β functional peptide, a hydrolytic site (RARR), and nine conservative cysteine residues with other members of the TGF-β superfamily. Sequence alignment and phylogenetic tree analyses indicated that the MSTN had a close relationship with teleostean fish, but they are far separated from mammals. Real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis revealed that the MSTN was strongly expressed in the skeletal muscle and heart tissues. Temporal expression analysis demonstrated that the MSTN gene was expressed in very low levels, from 20 to 90 dph (post-hatching development), and was at its highest level at 150 dph (P < 0.05). The fasting-re-feeding experiment showed that the expression of the MSTN gene was initially decreased in response to a single meal, after seven days of fasting, and subsequently increased significantly, and finally decreased back to its original level. Together, our results provided valuable knowledge regarding the regulation of MSTN gene expression in Chinese perch.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous studies have demonstrated that the levels of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in plasma are negatively correlated with Body Mass Index (BMI) whereas lean body mass is also closely related to plasma BNP. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of protein nutritional status on plasma BNP in aged patients. METHODS AND RESULTS The cross-sectional study was applied and the anthropometric measurement and nutritional biochemical test was performed in 1118 elderly inpatients in a stable condition were enrolled in the study (mean age, 75 years; 54% women). The partial correlation and multivariate regression analysis were conducted to analyze the relation of plasma BNP with covariates. After adjustment for confounding factors such as age, smoking and coexisting diseases, we found that the concentrations of BNP were independently associated with serum albumin (β=-0.065, P<0.001), serum total cholesterol (β=-0.097, P<0.012) and calf circumference (β=-0.032, P<0.014) in female patients, and associated with the serum albumin (β=-0.051, P<0.001), prealbumin (β=-2.177, P<0.026), mid-arm circumference (β=-0.062, P<0.001) and grip strength (β=-0.100, P<0.048) in male patients. Every 1 gram per liter of increased serum albumin corresponded to the reduced plasma BNP in male patients by 13.9% (OR 0.861, 95% CI 0.817, 0.909) and in female patients by 13.4% (OR 0.866, 95% CI 0.819, 0.916). CONCLUSIONS Our study suggests that plasma BNP is negatively correlated with muscle mass, and it is also related to muscle force in male patients. The serum albumin is an independent determinant factor of BNP in both men and women. These findings suggest that good protein nutritional status could be beneficial in maintaining the cardiac function in elder population.

Abstract
Genetic polymorphisms (C677T and A1298C) in methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) were shown to be related to prostate cancer risk in previous studies; however, the results are controversial. We performed a meta-analysis of previous studies and quantitatively estimated these associations. Pubmed, Embase, and Cochrane Library Database were searched for published case-control studies evaluating the association between C677T (or A1298C) and prostate cancer risk. Pooled associations were presented as odds ratios (ORs) along with their 95% confidence intervals. Twenty-one case control studies were identified for meta-analysis that included 21,581 participants. No significant associations were found between the MTHFR polymorphisms C677T or A1298C and prostate cancer risk in our meta-analysis. However, in subgroup analyses, the C677T CT polymorphism was associated with increased prostate cancer risk in East Asians (CT vs CC+TT: OR = 1.324, P = 0.03). The A1298C CC polymorphism in MTHFR was also linked to slightly reduced prostate cancer risk in European residents (CC vs AC+AA: OR = 0.751, P = 0.004; CC vs AA: OR = 0.768, P = 0.011), whereas it was associated with a significantly increased prostate cancer risk in Asian residents (CC vs AA: OR = 1.862, P = 0.006). The C677T CT polymorphism of MTHFR may be a risk factor for prostate cancer in East Asians. The association between the MTHFR A1298C CC genotype and prostate cancer risk may vary within different populations. Large-scale well-designed studies are required to confirm these associations.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Citrullination is a presently under-recognized posttranslational protein modification catalyzed by PAD enzymes. Immune responses to citrullinated neo-epitopes are identified in a growing number of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. However, the involvement of hypercitrullination in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma is still unknown. METHODS As main experimental tool, we examined the effect of 2-chloroacetamidine (2CA), a PAD enzyme inhibitor, on OVA-immunized and airway-challenged BALB/c mice; a commonly used model of allergic airway inflammation. We also measured the effect of 2CA on ex vivo lymphocytes and cell lines. RESULTS In vivo, 2CA dramatically suppressed lung tissue hypercitrullination, inflammatory cell recruitment, and airway-Th2 cytokine secretion. 2CA also suppressed systemic OVA-specific and total IgE production dramatically, effectively preventing de novo and diminishing established disease without measurably impacting general immunocompetence. In vitro, 2CA markedly inhibited the proliferation of mouse and human T cells with cell cycle block and apoptosis during a limited, postactivation phase. CONCLUSIONS 2CA acts as narrow-spectrum immunosuppressant that selectively targets lymphocyte populations involved in active inflammatory tissue lesions. If hypercitrullination is generated in patients with asthma, 2CA may represent a novel disease modulator for human asthmatics/allergic diseases.

Abstract
South Korea is experiencing the largest outbreak of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus infections outside the Arabian Peninsula, with 166 laboratory-confirmed cases, including 24 deaths up to 19 June 2015. We estimated that the mean incubation period was 6.7 days and the mean serial interval 12.6 days. We found it unlikely that infectiousness precedes symptom onset. Based on currently available data, we predict an overall case fatality risk of 21% (95% credible interval: 14–31).
