Abstract
We performed a 1-year cluster-randomized field trial to assess the effect of standardized management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on lung function and quality of life (QOL) measures in patients in China. We used the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) treatment guidelines and assessed indexes including pulmonary function, QOL, quality-adjusted life years (QALY), Medical Research Council (MRC) dyspnea scale, 6-min walk distance (6-MWD), number of emergency visits, and frequency of hospitalization. Of a total of 711 patients with chronic cough and asthma, 132 were diagnosed as having COPD and 102 participated in this study [intervention group (N = 47); control group (N = 55)]. We found that adherence to GOLD guidelines had a perceivable impact on 6-MWD, MRC dyspnea scale score, and QOL. The average QALY increased by 1.42/person/year in the intervention group, but declined by 0.95/person/year in the control group. We conclude that standardized management improves disease severity, QOL, and QALY in COPD patients when treatment protocols adhere to GOLD guidelines.

Abstract
A search for light sterile neutrino mixing was performed with the first 217 days of data from the Daya Bay Reactor Antineutrino Experiment. The experiment's unique configuration of multiple baselines from six 2.9 GW(th) nuclear reactors to six antineutrino detectors deployed in two near (effective baselines 512 m and 561 m) and one far (1579 m) underground experimental halls makes it possible to test for oscillations to a fourth (sterile) neutrino in the 10(-3) eV(2)<|Δm(41)(2) |< 0.3 eV(2) range. The relative spectral distortion due to the disappearance of electron antineutrinos was found to be consistent with that of the three-flavor oscillation model. The derived limits on sin(2) 2θ(14) cover the 10(-3) eV(2) ≲ |Δm(41)(2)| ≲ 0.1 eV(2) region, which was largely unexplored.

Abstract
A measurement of the energy dependence of antineutrino disappearance at the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment is reported. Electron antineutrinos (ν¯(e)) from six 2.9 GW(th) reactors were detected with six detectors deployed in two near (effective baselines 512 and 561 m) and one far (1579 m) underground experimental halls. Using 217 days of data, 41 589 (203 809 and 92 912) antineutrino candidates were detected in the far hall (near halls). An improved measurement of the oscillation amplitude sin(2)2θ(13)=0.090(-0.009)(+0.008) and the first direct measurement of the ν¯(e) mass-squared difference |Δm(ee)2|=(2.59(-0.20)(+0.19))×10(-3) eV2 is obtained using the observed ν¯(e) rates and energy spectra in a three-neutrino framework. This value of |Δm(ee)2| is consistent with |Δm(μμ)2| measured by muon neutrino disappearance, supporting the three-flavor oscillation model.

Abstract
The begomovirus Tomato yellow leaf curl China virus (TYLCCNV) can benefit its vector, the whitefly Bemisia tabaci, through suppressing the defences of their shared host plants. However, the mechanisms of this vector-virus mutualism remain largely unknown on the insect side of the interaction. Here, we compared the transcriptional profiles of female adult whiteflies of B. tabaci Middle East-Asia Minor 1 feeding on TYLCCNV-free and TYLCCNV-infected tobacco plants using the next-generation sequencing technique and quantitative real-time PCR. Interestingly, the genes involved in the oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) pathway and detoxification enzyme were down-regulated in whiteflies feeding on virus-infected plants. Decreased detoxification activity costs less energy, which may reduce OXPHOS activity. Moreover, the genes involved in redox activity were also down-regulated, which may indicate that the reduced OXPHOS activity decreased reactive oxygen species production. Reduced detoxification activity is likely to attenuate energy costs, thereby enhancing the performance of whiteflies on virus-infected plants. These results provide further insight into the mechanisms of the plant-mediated whitefly-virus mutualism. Moreover, our study suggests that investigating the transcriptional profiles on the insect side of the interaction can advance our understanding of the tripartite interactions.

Abstract
In a randomised controlled pragmatic trial we investigated whether local infiltration analgesia would result in earlier readiness for discharge from hospital after total knee replacement (TKR) than patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) plus femoral nerve block. A total of 45 patients with a mean age of 65 years (49 to 81) received a local infiltration with a peri-articular injection of bupivacaine, morphine and methylprednisolone, as well as adjuvant analgesics. In 45 PCEA+femoral nerve blockade patients with a mean age of 67 years (50 to 84), analgesia included a bupivacaine nerve block, bupivacaine/hydromorphone PCEA, and adjuvant analgesics. The mean time until ready for discharge was 3.2 days (1 to 14) in the local infiltration group and 3.2 days (1.8 to 7.0) in the PCEA+femoral nerve blockade group. The mean pain scores for patients receiving local infiltration were higher when walking (p = 0.0084), but there were no statistically significant differences at rest. The mean opioid consumption was higher in those receiving local infiltration. The choice between these two analgesic pathways should not be made on the basis of time to discharge after surgery. Most secondary outcomes were similar, but PCEA+femoral nerve blockade patients had lower pain scores when walking and during continuous passive movement. If PCEA+femoral nerve blockade is not readily available, local infiltration provides similar length of stay and similar pain scores at rest following TKR.

Abstract
Maxillary expansion treatment is a commonly used procedure by orthodontists to widen a patient's upper jaw. As this is typically performed in adolescent patients, the midpalatal suture, connective tissue adjoining the two maxilla halves, remains unfused. Studies that have investigated patient response to expansion treatment, generally through finite element analysis, have considered this suture to behave in a linear elastic manner or it was left vacant. The purpose of the study presented here was to develop a model that could represent the midpalatal suture's viscoelastic behavior. Quasilinear viscoelastic, modified superposition, Schapery's, and Burgers modeling approaches were all considered. Raw data from a previously published study using New Zealand White Rabbits was utilized for model parameter estimation and validation. In this study, Sentalloy(®) coil springs at load levels of 0.49N (50g), 0.98N (100g), and 1.96N (200g) were used to widen the midsagittal suture of live rabbits over a period of 6 weeks. Evaluation was based on a models ability to represent experimental data well over all three load sets. Ideally, a single set of model constants could be used to represent data over all loads tested. Upon completion of the analysis it was found that the modified superposition method was able to replicate experimental data within one standard deviation of the means using a single set of constants for all loads. Future work should focus on model improvement as well as prediction of treatment outcomes.

Abstract
Expansins are cell wall-associated proteins that induce wall extension and relax stress by disrupting noncovalent bonds between cellulose microfibrils and cross-linking glycan chains, thereby promoting wall creep. Anthocephalus chinensis is a very fast-growing economically important tree found mainly in South Asia. Sixteen cDNAs, designated AcEXPA1 to AcEXPA16 (GenBank accession Nos. FJ417847, JF922686-JF922700) with corresponding genomic DNA sequences (GenBank accession Nos. GQ228823, JF922701-JF922715), were isolated by amplifying conserved domain binding with genomic walking and RACE techniques from four differential growth tissues in A. chinensis. These α-expansin homologues were highly conserved in size and sequence; they had the same sequence structures as an N-terminal signal peptide, three exons and two introns. Their amino acid alignment showed that A. chinensis expansin genes are divided into three subgroups: A, B and C. This study is the first report on expansin genes from A. chinensis. It will be used for a tissue-specific expression model and for studying the relationship between expansin genes, growth rate and wood quality of the xylem in this fast-growing tree.

Abstract
Options for the treatment of subcapital femoral neck fractures basically fall into two categories: internal fixation or arthroplasty (either hemiarthroplasty or total hip arthroplasty). Historically, the treatment option has been driven by a diagnosis-related approach (non-displaced neck fractures versus displaced neck fractures). More recently, the traditional paradigm has changed. Instead of a diagnosis-related approach, it has become more of a patient-related approach. Treatment options take in to consideration the patient's age, functional demands, and individual risk profile. A simple algorithm can be helpful in terms of directing the treatment. Non-displaced fractures, regardless of age of the patient, should be treated with closed reduction and internal fixation. For displaced femoral neck fractures, the treatment differs depending on the age of the patient. The younger patient should be treated with urgent ORIF with the goal of an anatomic reduction. For displaced femoral neck fractures in the elderly, cognitive function should be determined. For those who are cognitively functioning, total hip arthroplasty appears to be the best option. In the cognitively dysfunctional, a bipolar hemiarthroplasty or a total hip arthroplasty with use of larger heads (32 mm or 36 mm) and/or constrained sockets are a viable option.

Abstract
Eighteen published trials have examined the use of neuraxial magnesium as a peri-operative adjunctive analgesic since 2002, with encouraging results. However, concurrent animal studies have reported clinical and histological evidence of neurological complications with similar weight-adjusted doses. The objectives of this quantitative systematic review were to assess both the analgesic efficacy and the safety of neuraxial magnesium. Eighteen trials comparing magnesium with placebo were identified. The time to first analgesic request increased by 11.1% after intrathecal magnesium administration (mean difference: 39.6 min; 95% CI 16.3-63.0 min; p = 0.0009), and by 72.2% after epidural administration (mean difference: 109.5 min; 95% CI 19.6-199.3 min; p = 0.02) with doses of between 50 and 100 mg. Four trials monitored for neurological complications: of the 140 patients included, only a 4-day persistent headache was recorded. Despite promising peri-operative analgesic effect, the risk of neurological complications resulting from neuraxial magnesium has not yet been adequately defined.

Abstract
Interference competition between closely related alien and indigenous species often influences the outcome of biological invasions. The whitefly Bemisia tabaci species complex contains ≥28 putative species and two of them, Mediterranean (MED, formally referred to as the 'Q biotype') and Middle East-Asia Minor 1 (MEAM1, formally referred to as the 'B biotype'), have recently spread to much of the world. In many invaded regions, these species have displaced closely related indigenous whitefly species. In this study, we integrated laboratory population experiments, behavioural observations and simulation modelling to investigate the capacity of MED to displace Asia II 1 (AII1, formally referred to as the 'ZHJ2 biotype'), an indigenous whitefly widely distributed in Asia. Our results show that intensive mating interactions occur between MED and AII1, leading to reduced fecundity and progeny female ratio in AII1, as well as an increase in progeny female ratio in MED. In turn, our population cage experiments demonstrated that MED has the capacity to displace AII1 in a few generations. Using simulation models, we then show that both asymmetric mating interactions and differences in life history traits between the two species contribute substantially to the process of displacement. These findings would help explain the displacement of AII1 by MED in the field and, together with earlier studies on mating interactions between other species of the B. tabaci complex, indicate the widespread significance of asymmetric mating interactions in whitefly species exclusions.

Abstract
Scirpus triqueter (Triangular club-rush), a typical wetland species, is used to study the response characteristics to pyrene. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the growth parameters (height, diameter, shoot number, total volume, underground biomass, above-ground biomass and total biomass), and enzymes (catalase and superoxide dismutase) of S. triqueter. The characteristics of soil enzymes (catalase and polyphenol oxidase) and microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) were also assessed after pyrene treatment. Elevated pyrene concentration (80 mgkg(-1)) in the soil reduced the shoot number and biomass significantly, especially at the early growth stage. In root tissue, the enzyme catalase was activated at 80 mgkg(-1) of pyrene. Compared to roots, shoots had higher enzyme activities. Catalase activities in the rhizosphere increased throughout the growth period of S. triqueter. Polyphenol oxidase activities in the rhizosphere were higher than those in the bulk soil and unplanted soil. The populations of bacteria (total bacteria, pyrene-tolerant bacteria, and actinomyces) and fungi decreased under the stress of high pyrene concentration, while that of pyrene-tolerant bacteria increased with the increasing pyrene concentration. The presence of pyrene did not benefit the growth of S. triqueter. S. triqueter and soil enzymes varied within the growth stages. The presence of S. triqueter could improve the activity of soil enzymes and facilitate the propagation of microorganisms which could help eliminate pyrene contamination.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To more precisely determine whether there is a significant association of cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) gene polymorphisms with the susceptibility for Behçet's disease. METHODS Eight studies that included data from 7 articles were identified using PubMed, Embase, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) published before March 2012. Meta-analysis was performed for two CTLA-4 gene polymorphisms, +49A/G (rs231775) and -318C/T (rs5742909). Statistical analyses were performed using software Review Manager (version 5.1) and Stata (version 11.0). The pooled odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (95%CI) were presented. RESULTS Overall, no significant association was detected in all genetic models when all studies were pooled into the meta-analysis (for +49A/G polymorphism: A vs. G, OR=1.173, 95% CI=0.790-1.743; A/A vs. A/G+G/G, OR=1.422, 95% CI=0.718-2.814; A/A+A/G vs. G/G, OR=1.421, 95% CI=0.729-2.767; and for -318C/T polymorphism: C vs. T, OR=1.051, 95% CI=0.844-1.307; C/C vs. T/T+C/T, OR=1.154 95% CI=0.891-1.495, C/C+C/T vs. T/T, OR=1.044, 95% CI=0.301-3.617). Furthermore, in the subgroup analysis by ethnicity, there was also lack of evidence for the association in Turkish patients. CONCLUSIONS Our study failed to provide evidence for the genetic association between CTLA-4 +49A/G and -318C/T polymorphisms with Behçet's disease based on currently available evidence from literature. Further confirmations in large and well-designed studies including other CTLA-4 gene polymorphisms are needed.

This article documents the addition of 299 microsatellite marker loci and nine pairs of single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) EPIC primers to the Molecular Ecology Resources (MER) Database. Abstract
The B and Q 'biotypes' of Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) have been invading many parts of the world and causing severe damage to a range of crops. Recent phylogenetic analyses indicate that B and Q are cryptic species within the B. tabaci species complex. Although various attempts have been made to examine the reproductive compatibility between B and Q, few studies have tested the fertility of the F1 females and so the extent of possible gene flow remains unclear. In this study, we conducted a series of crossing experiments and behavioural observations to examine in detail the reproductive compatibility between the B and Q biotypes collected from Zhejiang, China, a region recently invaded by these whiteflies. Crossing experiments between the two biotypes using either single-pairs or small groups demonstrated that proportions of females in the F1 progeny were only 0-2% in the inter-biotype crosses compared to 58-68% in the intra-biotype treatments. Furthermore, all inter-biotype F1 females were sterile. Continuous video observations showed that B and Q adults very rarely copulated, and copulation occurred only when adults of opposite sex from different biotypes were enclosed in dense cohorts for a relatively long period of time. These data show that the B and Q biotypes examined in this study are completely isolated in reproduction. The isolation was due to mainly a copulation barrier, but post-copulation barriers were also involved.

Abstract
The worldwide distribution and extensive genetic diversity of the whitefly Bemisia tabaci has long been recognized. However, whether B. tabaci is a complex species or a species complex has been a subject of debate. Recent phylogenetic analyses suggest that B. tabaci is a cryptic species complex composed of at least 24 morphologically indistinguishable species. Here, we conducted crossing experiments and demonstrated reproductive incompatibility among three of the 24 putative species. Our data and those of previously reported crossing experiments among various putative species of B. tabaci were collated to reveal the pattern of reproductive isolation. The combined results provide strong support to the proposition that B. tabaci is a cryptic species complex.

Abstract
Fitness costs associated with resistance genes expressed in the absence of insecticides affect the evolution of insecticide resistance and the outcome of resistance management programmes. However, measurements of fitness costs may not be straightforward as they vary with environmental conditions. The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), has developed resistance to spinosad, the first insecticide of the Naturalyte class, after only a few years of field application of this product. In this study, we compared the performance of two homogenous strains of P. xylostella, one susceptible (SS) and the other resistant (RR) to spinosad at an unfavourable, low natural temperature regime, a favourable median-fluctuating temperature regime and an unfavourable high-fluctuating temperature regime. The RR strain showed only marginal fitness cost at the median temperature regime. At the low temperature regime, the RR strain failed to produce any viable offspring, while the SS strain achieved positive population growth. At the high temperature regime, the RR strain showed a 33% decrease in intrinsic rate of increase compared to the SS strain. The results demonstrate that fitness costs of resistance to spinosad are temperature-dependent, increasing in scale at unfavourably low and high temperatures; costs were particularly high at low temperatures. Suggestions for designing effective management programmes are made to delay or avoid development of resistance to spinosad by P. xylostella under different temperature conditions.

Abstract
Coccidiosis of chickens caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Eimeria (Coccidia: Eimeriidae) is an enteric disease that results in great economic losses throughout the world, including Taiwan. Using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with primers specific for the second internal transcribed spacer (ITS-2) of ribosomal DNA (rDNA), three species of Eimeria, E. tenella, E. maxima, and E. acervulina have been successfully characterised from chickens in Taiwan. The sizes of PCR products from various isolates representing these three species were between 370 and 580 base pairs (bp). After cloning and sequencing of the PCR products, high nucleotide sequence identity (96.8-100%) was observed within a species. In addition, ITS-2 nucleotide sequences for E. tenella had higher homology (98.5-99.3%) than E. maxima (81.6-96.5%) when compared with appropriate sequences deposited in GenBank. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a 412-bp ITS-2 sequence for E. acervulina from chickens.

Abstract
PURPOSE Promoter hypermethylation is a common phenomenon in neoplasm. The aims of this study were (a) to compare the methylation profiles in different types of ovarian tumors and (b) to determine the possible relationship between the methylation status and different clinicopathologic characteristics. METHODS We examined the promoter methylation status of 9 tumor suppressor genes (RARbeta2, TMS1, RIZ1, P15, P16, PTEN, MINT31, APC and HIC1) in 89 ovarian cancers, 16 borderline ovarian tumors, 19 benign ovarian tumors, 16 normal ovarian tissue and 5 ovarian cancer cell lines. The methylation status was examined with respect to clinicopathologic characteristics of the ovarian cancer patients. RESULTS Methylation indices for ovarian cancer, borderline ovarian tumor, benign ovarian tumor, normal ovarian tissue and ovarian cancer cell lines were 28.8, 20.1, 10.5, 11.8 and 42.2%, respectively. It was significantly higher in ovarian cancer, borderline ovarian tumor and ovarian cancer cell lines (X (2) test, P < 0.001, P = 0.01 and P < 0.001, respectively) than benign or normal ovarian tissues. In ovarian cancer, concurrent methylation of at least two genes (CM2) was associated with early stage disease (X (2) test, P = 0.035) and less recurrence (X (2) test, P = 0.020). When the methylation statuses of the nine genes as well as CM2 were included in multivariate Cox Regression analysis, CM2 was the only independent predictor for survival (P = 0.013). CONCLUSION CM2 was an independent predictor for survival in ovarian cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Intrinsic radiosensitivity using the clonogenic assay and the cell surviving fraction at 2 Gy (SF2) has been shown to be an independent prognostic factor for patient response to radiotherapy in carcinoma of the cervix. The clonogenic assay has significant shortcomings, making it unsuitable for routine clinical use. The ATP cell viability assay (ATP-CVA) has been shown to have a high tumor evaluability rate, technical simplicity, and reproducibility in chemosensitivity testing. AIMS This study compares the ATP-CVA with the clonogenic assay in the in vitro radiosensitivity testing of cervical cancer cell lines. Correlation of in vitro radiosensitivity and in vivo patient response was also determined. METHODS Five cervical carcinoma cell lines (SiHa, HeLa, Caski, C-33A, and C4-1) were tested using the ATP-CVA and the clonogenic assay. Survival curves were plotted and the mean SF2 values obtained by the two different assay methods were compared using ANOVA to see if there were significant differences. Mean SF2 values obtained from 27 cervical cancers were compared with clinical outcomes. RESULTS The SF2 values for the cell lines ranged from 0.28 to 0.67 when tested using the ATP-CVA. Using the clonogenic assay, the SF2 values ranged from 0.27 to 0.70. ANOVA with Bonferroni pairwise multiple comparison showed no significant difference between the mean SF2 values for the individual cell lines between the two assay methods. Twenty-three cervical cancer samples (85%) were evaluable for SF2 using ATP-CVA. The mean SF2 values of patients who had locoregional failure were significantly higher than those who achieved local control (P <0.01). CONCLUSIONS Testing intrinsic radiosensitivity using the surviving fraction at 2 Gy (SF2) is comparable using the two assay methods of ATP-CVA and clonogenic assay. The ATP-CVA should be further investigated in the testing of intrinsic radiosensitivity in patients with cervical cancer.

Abstract
The chalcid, Oomyzus sokolowskii Kurdjumov has been recorded in many parts of the world as a major larval-pupal, gregarious endoparasitoid of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus), a serious pest of brassica vegetable crops worldwide. This study investigated intraspecific variation between two populations of O. sokiolowskii, one from Cape Verde Islands, West Africa and the other from Hangzhou, China. In all crosses and backcrosses between the two geographical populations, the numbers of progeny and sex ratio of progeny were similar to those obtained within each of the populations, demonstrating complete reproductive compatibility between the two populations. The two populations showed similar responses to temperature with respect to development time and survival of immature stages. Observations on the interactions between the two O. sokolowskii populations and Cotesia plutellae (Kurdjumov), another major parasitoid of P. xylostella, showed that neither population could achieve successful parasitism of P. xylostella larvae already parasitized by C. plutellae. However, both O. sokolowskii populations could achieve hyperparasitism by ovipositing into a mid-late stage larva of C. plutellae developing inside the primary host. Contrary to earlier reports, no evidence of intraspecific variations in ability to hyperparasitize between these two populations of O. sokolowskii was found.

Abstract
A vertebral artery (VA) coursing below the posterior arch of the atlas (C1) without passing through the transverse foramen of C1, combined with a tortuous course within the spinal canal has rarely been reported in the literature. This article describes a case encountered during an anatomical study of the far-lateral approach, and reviews its embryonic development and clinical significance. The suboccipital triangle was filled with numerous venous plexures. After exiting from the transverse foramen of C2, instead of passing upwards through the transverse foramen of C1, the VA turned directly medially towards the spinal canal. At the spinal canal, it first formed an angle downwards, then turned upwards, piercing and entering the lateral part of the dura at C1 level. The diameter of this VA seemed to be within its normal limits. The course of the contralateral (right) VA was normal but with a small caliber and mainly supplied the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA); after PICA, it became much thinner and dysplastic, the basilar artery was mainly supplied by the left VA. The bilateral posterior communicating arteries were large in diameter but there was dysplasia of the P1 segment of the posterior cerebral arteries bilaterally. Marked tortuosity of the bilateral intracavernous internal carotid artery (ICA) was also found. We did not find any osseous abnormality in the occipito-axial region or of C1-C2 joint. An abnormal course of the VA should be kept in mind during exposure of the craniocervical junction, especially in the variety of lateral approaches; due to compression of the nerve roots or the spinal cord, this abnormal course of the VA could give rise to clinical symptoms, which could be resolved by microvascular decompression technique.

Abstract
A previous study showed E-cadherin expression was lost in some cervical cancer cell lines and tumours. This study was designed to clarify the significance of DNA methylation in silencing E-cadherin expression. We examined promoter methylation of E-cadherin in five cervical cancer cell lines and 20 cervical cancer tissues using methylation-specific PCR (MSP) and bisulphite DNA sequencing. The correlation of E-cadherin methylation and expression together with methyltransferase (DNMT1) were further studied. We found that hypermethylation of E-cadherin was involved in five cervical cancer cell lines and 40% (8/20) of cervical cancer tissues. E-cadherin protein was lost in 6/8 (75%) samples and 3/5 (60%) cell lines with promoter methylation. E-cadherin methylation was significantly correlated with increased DNMT1. Using an antisense DNMT1 oligo to transfect into SiHa HeLa C33A cell line, E-cadherin protein was re-expressed. We concluded that loss of E-cadherin expression was in part correlated with DNA methylation and DNMT1 expression in cervical cancer.

Abstract
The health care industry in Hong Kong has undergone major changes in organization as well as philosophy of operation since the 1970s. During this period, the Hong Kong government has also experienced a political transition from colonial status to a special administrative region of Mainland China. Because of the economic downturn in East Asia, including Hong Kong, contraction of public spending has compelled the government to reconsider the alternatives for health care provision in Hong Kong. A number of multinational health care providers have entered this market and operate mainly in the private sector, including solely-owned clinics and alliances with existing hospitals. This paper provides an understanding of the evolution and development of the health care industry in Hong Kong and, on that basis, suggests elements of quality health care from the findings of a survey of patients.
