Abstract
Oral lichenoid reaction, an immune-related adverse event of immunotherapy, has been reported in very few patients receiving anti-programmed cell death receptor-1 (anti-PD-1) therapy. Here, we describe a case of severe stomatitis (grade ≥3 by the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events, version 4.0) accompanied by pharyngolaryngitis that was observed in a patient receiving nivolumab therapy. The stomatitis was diagnosed as drug-induced lichenoid reaction. Nivolumab therapy was discontinued, and the patient was administered systemic prednisolone (1mg/kg). Most of the patient's mucosal changes in the oral cavity and pharyngolarynx resolved within approximately 3 weeks after starting the prednisolone. Clinicians should be aware that severe oral lichenoid reactions can occur in patients receiving anti-PD-1 therapy.

Abstract
Manipulation of light transmission/absorbance and reflection/emission has a great significance in smart windows and displaying media like liquid crystal. Here, we report the usage of an external electric field to reversibly switch the molecular spectra of a model molecule on the basis of its interaction with an electroresponsible polymer brush. Both the UV-vis absorbance spectrum and the fluorescence emission spectrum of the model molecule were confirmed to be electroswitchable. The electroswitchable spectra were experimentally demonstrated to be induced by the electroswitchable statuses of medium anionic poly-allyloxy hydroxypropyl sulfonate (poly-AHPS) brush. Insightfully, the molecular aggregated status of model proflavine molecules could be electrically controlled via the electroresponsible poly-AHPS brushes and then the molecular spectra of the model proflavine molecule also could be electrically and controllably shifted. The success in the manipulation of molecular spectra opens up a wide range of applications not only for displaying but also for nonlinear optics, in vivo imaging, sensors, and environmental inspection.

Abstract
In deformation processes, the presence of grain boundaries has a crucial influence on dislocation behavior; these boundaries drastically change the mechanical properties of polycrystalline materials. It has been considered that grain boundaries act as effective barriers for dislocation glide, but the origin of this barrier-like behavior has been a matter of conjecture for many years. We directly observe how the motion of individual dislocations is impeded at well-defined high-angle and low-angle grain boundaries in SrTiO3, via in situ nanoindentation experiments inside a transmission electron microscope. Our in situ observations show that both the high-angle and low-angle grain boundaries impede dislocation glide across them and that the impediment of dislocation glide does not simply originate from the geometric effects; it arises as a result of the local structural stabilization effects at grain boundary cores as well, especially for low-angle grain boundaries. The present findings indicate that simultaneous consideration of both the geometric effects and the stabilization effects is necessary to quantitatively understand the dislocation impediment processes at grain boundaries.

Abstract
The state of aggregation and ageing of colloidal silicas was studied in view of the behaviour of silanol groups, by means of thermodynamic, mechanical, ir spectroscopic and chemical methods. A close relationship was found between surface areas, porosities, and other properties of hydrothermally, thermally and chemically treated silicas, and the species and their populations of silanol groups.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE According to recent news, patients with concurrent tuberculosis (TB) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection are increasingly common worldwide. This study aimed to investigate whether TB/HIV co-infected patients are visiting Hokkaido. METHOD We conducted a questionnaire survey regarding foreign patients infected with TB or TB/HIV who visited Hokkaido between January 2001 and September 2014. We mailed questionnaires to health centers, AIDS treatment care hospitals, and TB hospitals in Hokkaido prefecture. RESULTS Seventy-one TB patients were of foreign nationality according to the answers obtained from health centers. Most of them were foreign students or occupational trainees between 20-30 years old. Approximately half these patients were from East Asia, and 7 patients were from Africa. As 21 % of the patients with TB who visited medical examination were over 1 month from disease onset, and the delay in visiting was recognized. The TB infection was mostly detected coincidentally during the physician visit. In the hospital survey, four TB patients with HIV were of foreign nationality. They were also of the age group from 20-30 years and hailed from sub-Saharan Africa. DISCUSSION During immigration, medical examination by performing a chest radiograph is important. If the immigrant hails from an area where TB and HIV co-infection is common, it is necessary to confirm whether HIV infection is present.
