Abstract
Insufficient dietary vitamin intake can lead to severe health conditions in humans. Improving the vitamin E (VE) content of food crops such as rice through breeding is an economical and effective means to alleviate this problem. In this study, Homogentisate phytyltransferase (HPT) and γ-tocopherol methyltransferase (γ-TMT), two genes derived from sunflower (Helianthus annuus L., a high VE species), were introduced into an elite rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivar "Ningjing 7" for biofortification. We verified the successful expression of the two genes in multiple transformation events. High-performance liquid chromatography revealed that transgenic plants expressing either HaHPT alone or HaHPT and HaTMT accumulate more VE compared with the wild type. We also revealed that the level of α-tocopherol, the form of VE with the highest biological activity, had increased to 2.33 times in transgenic HaTMT plants compared with the wild type. Transcriptome analysis revealed that the expression levels of some chlorophyll synthesis pathway genes related to VE precursor synthesis significantly increased during grain filling in transgenic rice grains. No difference in agronomic traits was observed between the transgenic plants and their wild type except for a slightly reduced plant height associated with the transgenic plants. These data demonstrate that the heterologous expression of HaHPT gene is effective in increasing the total VE content, while HaTMT plays an important role in the relative abundance of α-tocopherol in rice grains. This study demonstrates a promising strategy for breeding rice with elevated VE content via metabolic engineering.

Abstract
Starch is synthesized as insoluble, semicrystalline particles within plant chloroplast and amyloplast, which are referred to as starch grains (SGs). The size and morphology of SGs in the cereal endosperm are diverse and species-specific, representing a key determinant of the suitability of starch for industrial applications. However, the molecular mechanisms modulating SG size in cereal endosperm remain elusive. Here, we functionally characterized the rice (Oryza sativa) mutant substandard starch grain7 (ssg7), which exhibits enlarged SGs and defective endosperm development. SSG7 encodes a plant-specific DUF1001 domain-containing protein homologous to Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) CRUMPLED LEAF (AtCRL). SSG7 localizes to the amyloplast membrane in developing endosperm. Several lines of evidence suggest that SSG7 functions together with SSG4 and SSG6, known as two regulators essential for SG development, to control SG size, by interacting with translocon-associated components, which unveils a molecular link between SG development and protein import. Genetically, SSG7 acts synergistically with SSG4 and appears to be functional redundancy with SSG6 in modulating SG size and endosperm development. Collectively, our findings uncover a multimeric functional protein complex involved in SG development in rice. SSG7 represents a promising target gene for the biotechnological modification of SG size, particularly for breeding programs aimed at improving starch quality.

Abstract
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.80 to 4.95 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20 fb^{-1}, a measurement of Born cross sections for the e^{+}e^{-}→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0} and D^{+}D^{-} processes is presented with unprecedented precision. Many clear peaks in the line shape of e^{+}e^{-}→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{0} and D^{+}D^{-} around the mass range of G(3900), ψ(4040), ψ(4160), Y(4260), and ψ(4415), etc., are foreseen. These results offer crucial experimental insights into the nature of hadron production in the open-charm region.

Abstract
The high mortality rate of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is exacerbated by the absence of early diagnostic markers. The pronounced heterogeneity of mutations in ESCC renders copy number alterations (CNAs) more prevalent among patients. The identification of CNA genes within esophageal squamous dysplasia (ESD), a precancerous stage of ESCC, is crucial for advancing early detection efforts. Utilization of liquid biopsies via droplet-based digital PCR (ddPCR) offers a novel strategy for detecting incipient tumor traces. This study undertook a thorough investigation of CNA profiles across ESCC development stages, integrating data from existing databases and prior investigations to pinpoint and confirm CNA markers conducive to early detection of ESCC. Targeted sequencing was employed to select potential early detection genes, followed by the establishment of prediction models for ESCC early detection using ddPCR. Our analysis revealed widespread CNAs during the ESD stage, mirroring the CNA landscape observed in ESCC. A total of 40 CNA genes were identified as highly frequent in both ESCC and ESD lesions, through a comprehensive gene-level CNA analysis encompassing ESD and ESCC tissues, ESCC cell lines, and pan-cancer data sets. Subsequent validation of 5 candidate markers via ddPCR underscored the efficacy of combined predictive models encompassing PIK3CA, SOX2, EGFR, MYC, and CCND1 in early ESCC screening, as evidenced by the area-under-the-curve values exceeding 0.92 (P < .0001) across various detection contexts. The findings highlighted the significant utility of CNA genes in the early screening of ESCC, presenting robust models that could facilitate early detection, broad-scale population screening, and adjunctive diagnosis.

Abstract
The resonant excitation of electronic transitions with coherent laser sources creates quantum coherent superpositions of the involved electronic states. Most time-resolved studies have focused on gases or isolated subsystems embedded in insulating solids, aiming for applications in quantum information. Here, we focus on the coherent control of orbital wavefunctions in the correlated quantum material Tb2Ti2O7, which forms an interacting spin liquid ground state. We show that resonant excitation with a strong THz pulse creates a coherent superposition of the lowest energy Tb 4f states. The coherence manifests itself as a macroscopic oscillating magnetic dipole, which is detected by ultrafast resonant x-ray diffraction. We envision the coherent control of orbital wavefunctions demonstrated here to become a new tool for the ultrafast manipulation and investigation of quantum materials.

Abstract
To meet the ever-increasing demand of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), it is necessary to carry out structure optimization for low-cost and high-stability oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalysts. Herein, a zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF)-derived carbon material with a mass of heteroatoms and defects is developed and serves as advanced support for nano-Pt-based ORR catalysts. This unique structure enhances the interaction between nano-Pt and support, leading to higher ORR intrinsic activity. During fuel cell applications, it demonstrates impressive water-retaining capacity and electrochemical stability. Under H2-O2 supply without cathode humidification, this catalyst achieves high mass activity of 0.475 A mgPt -1, with only 7.4% attenuation in maximum power density after 20 000 cycles of accelerated durability test, highlighting its remarkable potential for fuel cell applications. Physicochemical characterization and theoretical simulation reveal the crucial anchoring effect of heteroatom-doped defects to nano-Pt, providing valuable insights for further ORR catalyst design and PEMFC applications.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the mechanism underlying the protective effect of Lonicerae japonicae flos (LJF) extract against doxorubicin (DOX) -induced liver injury in mice. METHODS Network pharmacology methods were used to obtain the intersection genes between LJF targets and disease targets, based on which the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed using STRING database for screening the core targets using Cytoscape software. DAVID database was used for bioinformatics analysis, and the core components and core targets were verified using molecular docking study. In a mouse model of DOX-induced liver injury, the effect of LJF extract on liver pathologies, serum levels of ALT and AST, and hepatic expressions of HYP, ROS, TNF-α, IL-6, COL-Ⅳ and P53 proteins were evaluated using HE and Masson staining, ELISA, and Western blotting. RESULTS We identified 12 core targets from 43 intersection genes involving cancer pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway, and TNF signaling pathways. Molecular docking study suggested that 10 core components of LJF could bind to different core targets. The mice with DOX-induced liver injury showed elevated serum AST and ALT levels with obvious liver injury and fibrosis, increased ROS content, and enhanced expressions of TNF-α, IL-6, HYP, COL-Ⅳ and P53 proteins in the liver tissue. All these changes in the mouse models were significantly alleviated by treatment with LJF extract, suggesting obviously lowered levels of oxidative stress, inflammation and fibrosis in the liver tissues. CONCLUSION LJF extract is capable of alleviating DOX-induced liver injury in mice by downregulating Trp53, TNF and IL-6 to reduce liver oxidative stress, inflammation and fibrosis.

Abstract
This paper analyzes the pathogenesis, clinical characteristics, treatment measures and prognosis of a case of methemoglobin and hemolytic anemia caused by acute nitrogen trifluoride poisoning. The patient with occupational exposure to nitrogen trifluoride was treated immediately after the onset of illness, methemoglobin was monitored and a comprehensive examination was conducted. After comprehensive analysis, it was considered that acute nitrogen trifluoride poisoning could cause methemoglobinemia, hemolytic anemia and liver injury. The patient was disengaged and given symptomatic treatment such as oxygen therapy, methylene blue, low-dose methylpredrone, vitamin C and reduced glutathione. The prognosis of the patient is good, which provides a reference for the clinical treatment and occupational health examination of nitrogen trifluoride poisoning.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the expressions of glycolysis-related factors and changes in Notch1 signaling in endometrial tissues of adenomyosis (AM) and Ishikawa cells to explore the pathogenesis of AM. METHODS Eutopic endometrial tissues were collected from 8 patients with AM and 8 patients with uterine fibroids matched for clinical characteristics (control group). The expressions of Notch1 signaling proteins and glycolysis-related factors in the collected tissues were detected using qRT-PCR and Western blotting, and the levels of glucose and lactic acid were determined. An Ishikawa cell model with lentivirus-mediated stable Notch1 overexpression was established for assessing cell survival rate with CCK-8 assay, cell migration and invasion abilities with Transwell migration and invasion assays, and glycolytic capacity by determining the extracellular acidification rate. RESULTS Compared with those in the control group, the endometrial tissues in AM group showed significantly increased expression level of carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125), increased mRNA expression levels of Notch1, HK2 and PDHA and protein expressions of Notch1, GLUT1, HK2, PKM and PDHA, lowered glucose level and increased lactate level. The Ishikawa cell models with stable Notch1 overexpression exhibited significantly increased cell survival rate with attenuated cell migration and invasion abilities and decreased glycolysis capacity and reserve. CONCLUSION The Notch1 signaling pathway participates in the pathogenesis of AM possibly by regulating the proliferation, migration, invasion and glycolysis of endometrial cells.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of sanguinarine (SAN) on proliferation and ferroptosis of colorectal cancer cells. METHODS SW620 and HCT-116 cells treated with different concentrations of SAN were examined for cell viability changes using CCK8 assay to determine the IC50 of SAN in the two cells. The inhibitory effects of SAN on proliferation, invasion and migration of the cells were evaluated using colony-forming assay and Transwell assays. ROS production in the treated cells was analyzed with flow cytometry, and lipid peroxide production was assessed by detecting malondialdehyde (MDA) level. Glutathione (GSH) levels in the cells were detected, and Western blotting was used to detect the expressions of ferroptosis-related proteins STUB1 and GPX4. RESULTS SAN significantly inhibited the proliferation, invasion and migration of SW620 and HCT-116 cells. SAN treatment significantly promoted ROS production, increased intracellular MDA level, and lowered GSH level in the two cells (P<0.05). Western blotting showed that SAN significantly upregulated the expression of STUB1 and down-regulated the expression of its downstream protein GPX4 (P<0.05). CONCLUSION SAN induces ferroptosis in colorectal cancer cells by regulating STUB1/GPX4, which may serve as a new therapeutic target for colorectal cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of kuwanon G (KG) on proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells and the molecular mechanisms. METHODS The effects of KG on proliferation and growth of gastric cancer cells were assessed with CCK-8 assay and cell clone formation assay, by observing tumor formation on the back of nude mice and using immunohistochemical analysis of Ki-67. The effect of KG on cell apoptosis was analyzed using Annexin V-FITC/PI apoptosis detection kit, Western blotting and TUNEL staining. The effects of KG on cell migration and invasion were detected using Transwell migration and invasion assay and Western blotting for matrix metalloproteinase (MMP). The role of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT)/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway in KG-mediated regulation of gastric cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion was verified by Western blotting and rescue assay. RESULTS KG significantly inhibited proliferation and reduced clone formation ability of gastric cancer cells in a concentration-dependent manner (P < 0.05). KG treatment also increased apoptosis, enhanced the expressions of cleaved caspase-3 and Bax, down-regulated Bcl-2, lowered migration and invasion capacities and inhibited the expression of MMP2 and MMP9 in gastric cancer cells (P < 0.05). Mechanistic validation showed that KG inhibited the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, and IGF-1, an activator of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, reversed the effects of KG on proliferation, migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION KG inhibits proliferation, migration and invasion and promotes apoptosis of gastric cancer cells at least in part by inhibiting the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.

Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the repeatability of radiomics and dosiomics features via image perturbation of patients with cervical cancer. A total of 304 cervical cancer patients with planning CT images and dose maps were retrospectively included. Random translation, rotation, and contour randomization were applied to CT images and dose maps before radiomics feature extraction. The repeatability of radiomics and dosiomics features was assessed using intra-class correlation of coefficient (ICC). Pearson correlation coefficient (r) was adopted to quantify the correlation between the image characteristics and feature repeatability. In general, the repeatability of dosiomics features was lower compared with CT radiomics features, especially after small-sigma Laplacian-of-Gaussian (LoG) and wavelet filtering. More repeatable features (ICC > 0.9) were observed when extracted from the original, Large-sigma LoG filtered, and LLL-/LLH-wavelet filtered images. Positive correlations were found between image entropy and high-repeatable feature number in both CT and dose (r = 0.56, 0.68). Radiomics features showed higher repeatability compared to dosiomics features. These findings highlight the potential of radiomics features for robust quantitative imaging analysis in cervical cancer patients, while suggesting the need for further refinement of dosiomics approaches to enhance their repeatability.

Abstract
Introduction The curriculum for a da Vinci surgeon in gynecology requires special training before a surgeon performs their first independent case, but standardized, objective assessments of a trainee's workflow or skills learned during clinical cases are lacking. This pilot study presents a methodology to evaluate intraoperative surgeon behavior in hysterectomy cases through standardized surgical step segmentation paired with objective performance indicators (OPIs) calculated directly from robotic data streams. This method can provide individual case analysis in a truly objective capacity. Materials and methods Surgical data from six robot-assisted total laparoscopic hysterectomies (rTLH) performed by two experienced surgeons was collected prospectively using an Intuitive Data Recorder. Each rTLH video was annotated and segmented into specific, functional surgical steps based on the recorded video. Once annotated, OPIs were compared through workflow analysis and across surgeons during two critical surgical steps: colpotomy and vaginal cuff closure. Results Through visualization of the individual steps over time, we observe workflow consistencies and variabilities across individual surgeons of a similar experience level at the same hospital, creating unique surgeon behavior signatures across each surgical case. OPI differences across surgeons were observed for both the colpotomy and vaginal cuff closure steps, specifically reflecting camera movement, energy usage and clutching behaviors. Comparing colpotomy and vaginal cuff closure time needed for the step and the events of energy use were significantly different (p < 0.001). For the comparison between the two surgeons only the event count for camera movement during colpotomy showed significant differences (p = 0.03). Conclusion This pilot study presents a novel methodology to analyze and compare individual rTLH procedures with truly objective measurements. Through collection of robotic data streams and standardized segmentation, OPI measurements for specific rTLH surgery steps can be reliably calculated and compared to those of other surgeons. This provides opportunity for critical standardization to the gynecology field, which can be integrated into individualized training plans in the future. However, more studies are needed to establish context surrounding these metrics in gynecology.

Abstract
Wisdom is the hallmark of social judgment, but how people across cultures recognize wisdom remains unclear-distinct philosophical traditions suggest different views of wisdom's cardinal features. We explore perception of wise minds across 16 socio-economically and culturally diverse convenience samples from 12 countries. Participants assessed wisdom exemplars, non-exemplars, and themselves on 19 socio-cognitive characteristics, subsequently rating targets' wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Analyses reveal two positively related dimensions-Reflective Orientation and Socio-Emotional Awareness. These dimensions are consistent across the studied cultural regions and interact when informing wisdom ratings: wisest targets-as perceived by participants-score high on both dimensions, whereas the least wise are not reflective but moderately socio-emotional. Additionally, individuals view themselves as less reflective but more socio-emotionally aware than most wisdom exemplars. Our findings expand folk psychology and social judgment research beyond the Global North, showing how individuals perceive desirable cognitive and socio-emotional qualities, and contribute to an understanding of mind perception.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to compare oral sulfate solution (OSS) with polyethylene glycol (PEG) for bowel preparation before colonoscopy. METHODS A literature search was performed on PubMed, Ovid, and Cochrane Databases for randomized clinical trials (RCT) comparing OSS with PEG for bowel preparation before colonoscopy. The last search was performed on 22 August 2023. The primary outcome was the quality of bowel preparation. The outcomes were compared by meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis (TSA). RESULTS A total of 14 RCTs with 4526 patients were included. OSS was comparable with PEG regarding adequate bowel preparation [P = 0.16, odds ratio (OR) = 1.19, 95% confidence interval (CI) [0.93, 1.51], I2 = 0%]. However, OSS showed obvious priority in excellent bowel preparation (P < 0.001, OR = 1.62, 95% CI [1.27, 2.05], I2 = 0%) and total Boston bowel preparation scale (BBPS) [P = 0.02, weighted mean difference (WMD) = 0.27, 95% CI [0.05, 0.50], I2 = 84%]. Additionally, the detection rate of polyps (P = 0.001, OR = 1.44, 95% CI [1.15, 1.80], I2 = 0%) and adenoma (P = 0.007, OR = 1.22, 95% CI [1.06, 1.42], I2 = 0%) was significantly higher in the OSS group. The two groups showed comparable incidence of adverse events except for a higher incidence of dizziness (P = 0.02, OR = 1.74, 95% CI [1.08, 2.83], I2 = 11%) was indicated in the OSS group. Moreover, OSS was associated with a higher satisfaction score (P = 0.02, WMD = 0.62, 95% CI [0.09, 1.15], I2 = 70%). In the TSA, the cumulative Z-curve crossed both the conventional boundary and trial sequential monitoring boundary and the required information size has been reached for excellent bowel preparation and total BBPS. CONCLUSION The current data demonstrated that OSS was associated with better quality of bowel preparation. More clinical trials are still needed to confirm other outcomes.

Abstract
Copper is a trace element essential for numerous biological activities, whereas the mitochondria serve as both major sites of intracellular copper utilization and copper reservoir. Here, we investigated the impact of mitochondrial copper overload on the tricarboxylic acid cycle, renal senescence and fibrosis. We found that copper ion levels are significantly elevated in the mitochondria in fibrotic kidney tissues, which are accompanied by reduced pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) activity, mitochondrial dysfunction, cellular senescence and renal fibrosis. Conversely, lowering mitochondrial copper levels effectively restore PDH enzyme activity, improve mitochondrial function, mitigate cellular senescence and renal fibrosis. Mechanically, we found that mitochondrial copper could bind directly to lipoylated dihydrolipoamide acetyltransferase (DLAT), the E2 component of the PDH complex, thereby changing the interaction between the subunits of lipoylated DLAT, inducing lipoylated DLAT protein dimerization, and ultimately inhibiting PDH enzyme activity. Collectively, our study indicates that mitochondrial copper overload could inhibit PDH activity, subsequently leading to mitochondrial dysfunction, cellular senescence and renal fibrosis. Reducing mitochondrial copper overload might therefore serve as a strategy to rescue renal fibrosis.

Abstract
Developing high-performance Pt-based catalysts with low Pt loading is crucial but challenging for CO oxidation at temperatures below 100 °C. Herein, we report a Pt-based catalyst with only a 0.15 wt% Pt loading, which consists of Pt-Ti intermetallic single-atom alloy (ISAA) and Pt nanoparticles (NP) co-supported on a defective TiO2 support, achieving a record high turnover frequency of 11.59 s-1 at 80 °C and complete conversion of CO at 120 °C. This is because the coexistence of Pt-Ti ISAA and Pt NP significantly alleviates the competitive adsorption of CO and O2, enhancing the activation of O2. Furthermore, Pt single atom sites are stabilized by Pt-Ti ISAA, resulting in distortion of the TiO2 lattice within Pt-Ti ISAA. This distortion activates the neighboring surface lattice oxygen, allowing for the simultaneous occurrence of the Mars-van Krevelen and Langmuir-Hinshelwood reaction paths at low temperatures.

Abstract
Background Recent epidemiological studies have indicated a correlation between platelet indices and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), yet the causality between them remains unclear. To explore the causal relationship between four platelet indices and PAH, with the aim of providing a theoretical basis for clinical prevention and treatment. Methods Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with platelet-related traits were selected as exposure factors from published genome-wide association studies (GWAS), including: platelet count (PLT), plateletcrit (PCT), mean platelet volume (MPV), and platelet distribution width (PDW). Summary-level data for PAH were obtained from the FinnGen study (248 cases and 289,117 controls). Two-sample and multivariable Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses were conducted to assess the causal relationship between exposure factors and the risk of outcomes. The inverse variance weighted (IVW) method was utilized as the primary MR analysis approach, supplemented by weighted median, mode-based estimation, MR-Egger regression, and the MR Pleiotropy Residual Sum and Outlier (MR-PRESSO) test to detect and adjust for pleiotropy, ensuring the reliability of the results through sensitivity analysis. Results (1) The IVW results from the two-sample MR analysis showed a positive causal association between PLT and the risk of developing PAH [(OR = 1.649, 95%CI: 1.206-2.256, P = 0.0017)], with the sensitivity analysis confirming the robustness of the causal relationship. The MR-Egger intercept analysis did not detect potential pleiotropy (P = 0.879). (2) The MVMR results showed no statistically significant causal relationship between these four markers and the risk of developing PAH. After adjusting for collinearity, a direct positive causal association was observed between PLT and the risk of developing PAH (OR = 1.525, 95%CI: 1.063-2.189, P = 0.022). Conclusion The positive correlation between PLT and the risk of PAH suggests that correcting elevated platelet levels may reduce the risk of developing PAH.

Abstract
The study focused on individuals with influenza-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, and other respiratory symptoms) in three kindergartens in Tongzhou District, Beijing City, in April 2023. Nasopharyngeal swab specimens were collected, and real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR was used to detect common respiratory pathogens in the collected specimens. Positive specimens were subjected to sequencing analysis of the highly variable region of human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) G protein, homology analysis and phylogenetic tree analysis. A total of 25 fever cases were collected from 3 kindergartens, aged 3-8 years old, with an age M (Q1, Q3) of 4 (3.5, 5) years old. Ten confirmed cases of HRSV positive were screened and detected using the fluorescent quantitative PCR method, with a total detection rate of 40% (10/25). Typing identification and sequencing analysis confirmed that the main epidemic type was HRSV subtype B, which was highly homologous and closely related to previous epidemic strains in the region. Through pathogen investigation and analysis, it was preliminarily determined that this epidemic was dominated by HRSV subtype B.

Abstract
In 1985, Professor KWOH first introduced robots into neurosurgery. Since then, advancements of stereotactic frames, radiographic imaging, and neuronavigation have led to the dominance of classic stereotactic robots. A comprehensive retrieval was performed using academic databases and search agents to acquire professional information, with a cutoff date of June, 2024. This reveals a multitude of emerging technologies are coming to the forefront, including tremor filtering, motion scaling, obstacle avoidance, force sensing, which have made significant contributions to the high efficiency, high precision, minimally invasive, and exact efficacy of robot-assisted neurosurgery. Those technologies have been applied in innovative magnetic resonance-compatible neurosurgical robots, such as Neuroarm and Neurobot, with real-time image-guided surgery. Despite these advancements, the major challenge is considered as magnetic resonance compatibility in terms of space, materials, driving, and imaging. Future research directions are anticipated to focus on 1) robotic precise perception; 2) artificial intelligence; and 3) the advancement of telesurgery.

Abstract
Ferroptosis adversely affects the viability, differentiation, and metabolic integrity of C2C12 myoblasts, contributing to the decline in skeletal muscle health. The intricate mechanisms behind this process are not fully understood. In this study, we induced ferroptosis in myoblasts using targeted inducers and found a marked decrease in specific redox metabolites, particularly taurine. Taurine supplementation effectively reversed the deleterious effects of ferroptosis, significantly increased cellular glutathione levels, reduced MDA and ROS levels, and rejuvenated impaired myogenic differentiation. Furthermore, taurine downregulated HO-1 expression and decreased intracellular Fe2+ levels, thereby stabilizing the labile iron pool. Using NMR metabolomic analysis, we observed that taurine profoundly promoted glycerophospholipid metabolism, which is critical for cell membrane repair, and enhanced mitochondrial bioenergetics, thereby increasing the energy reserves essential for muscle satellite cell regeneration. These results suggest that taurine is a potent ferroptosis inhibitor that attenuates key drivers of this process, strengthens oxidative defenses, and improves redox homeostasis. This combined effect protects cells from ferroptosis-induced damage. This study highlights the potential of taurine as a valuable ferroptosis inhibitor that protects skeletal muscle from ferroptosis-induced damage and provides a basis for therapeutic strategies to rejuvenate and facilitate the regeneration of aging skeletal muscle.

Abstract
We report a measurement of exclusive J/ψ and ψ(2s) photoproduction in Au+Au ultraperipheral collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV using the STAR detector. For the first time, (i) the ψ(2s) photoproduction in midrapidity at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider has been experimentally measured; (ii) nuclear suppression factors are measured for both the coherent and incoherent J/ψ production. At average photon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 25.0 GeV, the coherent and incoherent J/ψ cross sections of Au nuclei are found to be 71±10% and 36±7%, respectively, of that of free protons. The stronger suppression observed in the incoherent production provides a new experimental handle to study the initial-state parton density in heavy nuclei. Data are compared with theoretical models quantitatively.

Abstract
At the origin of the Universe, an asymmetry between the amount of created matter and antimatter led to the matter-dominated Universe as we know it today. The origins of this asymmetry remain unknown so far. High-energy nuclear collisions create conditions similar to the Universe microseconds after the Big Bang, with comparable amounts of matter and antimatter1-6. Much of the created antimatter escapes the rapidly expanding fireball without annihilating, making such collisions an effective experimental tool to create heavy antimatter nuclear objects and to study their properties7-14, hoping to shed some light on the existing questions on the asymmetry between matter and antimatter. Here we report the observation of the antimatter hypernucleusH ¯ Λ ¯ 4 , composed of aΛ ¯ , an antiproton and two antineutrons. The discovery was made through its two-body decay after production in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions by the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider15,16. In total, 15.6 candidateH ¯ Λ ¯ 4 antimatter hypernuclei are obtained with an estimated background count of 6.4. The lifetimes of the antihypernucleiH ¯ Λ ¯ 3 andH ¯ Λ ¯ 4 are measured and compared with the lifetimes of their corresponding hypernuclei, testing the symmetry between matter and antimatter. Various production yield ratios among (anti)hypernuclei (hypernuclei and/or antihypernuclei) and (anti)nuclei (nuclei and/or antinuclei) are also measured and compared with theoretical model predictions, shedding light on their production mechanisms.
