Abstract
Background Coronary heart disease has become the leading cause of death in developed countries, and dyslipidemia is closely associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease. Dyslipidemia is caused by the abnormal regulation of several genes and signaling pathways, and dyslipidemia is influenced mainly by genetic variation. AMFR, FBXW7, INSIG1, INSIG2, and MBTPS1 genes are associated with lipid metabolism. In a recent GWAS study, the GRINA gene has been reported to be associated with dyslipidemia, but its molecular mechanism has not been thoroughly investigated. The correlation between the DNA methylation of these genes and lipid metabolism has not been studied. This study aimed to examine the relationship between the DNA methylation of these genes and the risk of dyslipidemia by comparing the methylation levels of dyslipidemia and control samples. Methods A case-control research method was used in this study. The patient's blood samples were collected at the Heart Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University. In the Xinjiang Han population, 100 cases of hyperlipidemia and 80 cases of the control group were selected. The two groups were age and gender-matched. Quantitative methylation analysis of CpG sites in the gene promoter regions of six genes was performed by Solexa high-throughput sequencing. Results The DNA methylation levels of 23 CpG sites in six genes were shown to be associated with hyperlipidemia, and a total of 20 DNA methylation haplotypes showed statistically significant differences between the two groups. When compared with the control group, the dyslipidemia group had significantly higher levels of methylation in the GRINA gene (2.68 vs 2.36, P = 0.04). Additionally, we also discovered a significant methylation haplotype of GRINA (P = 0.017). Conclusion The findings of this study reveal that the DNA methylation of GRINA increases the risk for dyslipidemia in humans.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the application effect of smart classroom teaching mode in undergraduate teaching of endodontics. Methods: Through micro-lecture and massive open online course which were closely integrated with clinical practice and frontier advances, we build a new smart classroom teaching mode of endodontics relying on information technology such as the medical education cloud APP platform. The mode was applied to the undergraduate teaching of grade 2017 (110 students) and grade 2018 (107 students) in 2020 and 2021 respectively (experimental group). The theoretical examination was conducted for the grade 2016 (control group, 111 students applied traditional teaching methods) in 2019, and for two experimental grades in 2020 and 2021 respectively. A questionnaire survey was conducted for the 2018 undergraduates to investigate the experience of the smart classroom teaching mode, and the application effect of the smart classroom teaching mode was evaluated by comparing the offline theoretical test scores of grades 2016, 2017 and 2018. Results: The results of the questionnaire showed that students in grade 2018 recognized the overall form of smart classroom teaching mode, and 75.2% (79/105) of the students satisfied with the teaching process, considering that it could enhance learning interest and enthusiasm, improve self-learning ability, facilitate the understanding and memory of knowledge points, as well as increase the extension and expansion of professional knowledge. Thirty-seven point one percent (39/105) of the students thought that smart classroom teaching mode was not conducive to the interaction between teachers and students and couldn't improve learning efficiency. Comparing the final theoretical examination scores of students in three years, it was found that the average scores of 2021 (78.79±9.88) and 2020 (76.45±8.33) were significantly higher than that of 2019 (67.67±10.58) (t=6.77, P<0.001; t=8.51, P<0.001). The average score in 2021 was higher than that in 2020, although the difference was not significant (t=1.79, P=0.223). Conclusions: The application of smart classroom mode improved the teaching effect of endodontics, which is worthy of further promotion to provide a positive reference in improving the educating effects of oral medicine.

Abstract
We present the first measurement of dihadron angular correlations in electron-nucleus scattering. The data were taken with the CLAS detector and a 5.0 GeV electron beam incident on deuterium, carbon, iron, and lead targets. Relative to deuterium, the nuclear yields of charged-pion pairs show a strong suppression for azimuthally opposite pairs, no suppression for azimuthally nearby pairs, and an enhancement of pairs with large invariant mass. These effects grow with increased nuclear size. The data are qualitatively described by the gibuu model, which suggests that hadrons form near the nuclear surface and undergo multiple scattering in nuclei. These results show that angular correlation studies can open a new way to elucidate how hadrons form and interact inside nuclei.

Abstract
Honokiol (HKL), a biphenolic compound, is derived from the bark of Magnolia officinalis, which is used in traditional Chinese medicine for gastrointestinal complaints. HKL has diverse pharmacological activities and has protective effects in various disease models. However, the role and mechanism of HKL in treating chronic kidney disease (CKD) remain unclear. This study was designed to investigate whether HKL can alleviate CKD and the potential mechanism by which it acts. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were fed 0.75% w/w adenine feed for 3 weeks to induce CKD. HKL was administered by gavage at a dose of 5 mg/kg/day for 4 weeks. Using a special kit, serum creatinine (Scr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were measured. To assess renal pathology, periodic acid-Schiff and Masson’s trichrome staining were conducted. Renal lipid profiles were analyzed by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (UHPLC/MS). The results showed that the administration of HKL reduced Scr and BUN and alleviated renal tubular atrophy and tubulointerstitial fibrosis in an adenine-induced CKD rat model. By using lipidomics, we identified 113 lipids (47 lipids in negative ion mode, 66 lipids in positive ion mode) that could be significantly reversed by HKL treatment in CKD rat kidneys. Most of these lipids belonged to the phosphatidylcholine (PC), ceramide (Cer), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), and triacylglycerol (TAG) classes. Moreover, HKL improved fatty acid oxidation in the kidneys of CKD rats. In conclusion, this study found that HKL can protect against adenine-induced CKD, possibly through the regulation of lipid metabolism.

Abstract
The regime of self-compression has been proposed for plasma-based backward Raman amplification upon a flying focus. By using a pumping focus moving with a speed equal to the group velocity of stimulated Raman backscattering (SRBS), only a short part of SRBS which always synchronizes with the flying focus can be amplified. Therefore, instead of a short pulse, plasma noise or a long pulse can seed the BRA amplifiers. Here we demonstrate the regime by 2D particle-in-cell simulations, showing that the pump pulse is compressed from 26 ps to 116 fs, with an output amplitude comparable with the case of a well-synchronized short seed. As only one laser pulse is used in the simulation, the results present a significant path to simplify the Raman amplifiers.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the influence of sacroiliac joint reduction quality on the clinical effect of bionic reduction and internal fixation for pelvic ring injury. Methods: From January 2014 to February 2019,the clinical data of 78 patients diagnosed with pelvic ring injury involving sacroiliac joints and treated with bionic reduction and internal fixation at Honghui Hospital Affiliated to Medical College of Xi'an Jiaotong University were retrospectively analyzed. There were 48 males and 30 females, aged (48.3±8.3)years (range:28 to 68 years). After bionic reduction and internal fixation, the patients were grouped according to the maximum displacement distance (d) of sacroiliac joint residual on the damaged side measured by CT examination. Patients with d≤5 mm were included in anatomical bionic reduction group, and patients with d>5 mm were included in non-anatomical bionic reduction group. In non-anatomical bionic reduction group, according to the direction of residual displacement, the patients were divided into separation displacement group and anterior-posterior displacement group. The X-ray examination was performed immediately and at the last follow-up after operation. If sacroiliac joint was relocated,or internal plant loosening, displacement, fracture and re-displacement of fracture,it was defined as internal fixation failure.Majeed pelvic fracture scoring system was used to evaluate the postoperative functional status of the two groups, and visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate the postoperative pain.Comparison between groups was performed by completely random design ANOVA,χ2 test,Fisher's exact test,Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H test. Results: According to the CT examination,28 cases were included in anatomical bionic reduction group, and 50 cases were included in non-anatomical bionic reduction group. In non-anatomical bionic reduction group,27 cases were divided into separation displacement group and 23 cases were in anterior-posterior displacement group. There was no significant difference in general data among anatomical bionic reduction group, separation displacement group and anterior-posterior displacement group (P>0.05). The follow-up time was (37.8±6.6) months (range:25 to 51 months). At the last follow up,the excellent and good rate of Majeed score in anatomical bionic reduction group was 96.4%(27/28),which was better than that in separation displacement group(74.1%(20/27)) and anterior-posterior displacement group (30.4%(7/23)),the difference was statistically significant (Z=-6.479,P<0.01;Z=-6.256,P<0.01); and the good rate of the separation displacement group was better than that of the anterior-posterior displacement group(Z=-3.607,P<0.01).The VAS of anatomical bionic reduction group (17 cases with 0 point, 11 cases with 1 to 3 points) were lower than that of the displacement group (6 cases with 0 point,16 cases with 1 to 3 points,5 cases with 4 to 6 points) and anterior-posterior displacement group (3 cases with 0 point,7 cases with 1 to 3 points,13 cases with 4 to 6 points),the difference was statistically significant (Z=-3.515,P<0.01;Z=-3.506,P<0.01),and there was no difference between separation displacement group and anterior-posterior displacement group.Total of 8 cases of internal fixation failure occurred, and the failure rate of anatomical bionic reduction group (0,0/28) was lower than that of the separation displacement group (11.1%,3/27) and anterior-posterior displacement group (21.7%,5/23) (P=0.111,P=0.014),and there was no difference between separation displacement group and anterior-posterior displacement group(P=0.444). Conclusions: In the bionic reduction and internal fixation of pelvic fracture involving sacroiliac joint injury, the functional status, pain and internal fixation failure rate of patients with anatomical bionic reduction of sacroiliac joint are significantly better than those in the non-anatomical bionic reduction. The functional recovery of patients with separation displacement is better than that of the patients with anterior and posterior displacement.

Abstract
A novel series of hybrid molecules combining pyrrolobenzodiazepine (PBD) and anthracenecarboxyimide pharmacophores were designed, synthesized, and tested for in vitro cytotoxicity against various cancer cell lines. The most potent compound from this series, 37b3, exhibited a subnanomolar level of cytotoxicity with an IC50 of 0.17-0.94 nM. 37b3 induced DNA damage and led to tumor cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. We employed 37b3 as a payload to conjugate with trastuzumab to obtain the antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) T-PBA. T-PBA maintained its mode of target and internalization ability of trastuzumab. We demonstrated that T-PBA could be degraded through the lysosomal pathway to release the payload 37b3 after internalization. T-PBA showed a powerful killing effect on Her2-positive cancer cells in vitro. Furthermore, T-PBA significantly inhibited tumor growth in gastric and ovarian cancer xenograft mouse models without overt toxicity. Collectively, these studies suggest that T-PBA represents a promising new ADC that deserves further investigation.

Abstract
Magnesium and its alloys have piqued the interest of researchers due to their promising mechanical properties and biocompatibility. Moreover, the excessively fast corrosion rate of Mg alloys impedes their development in biomedical fields. Inspired by conventional ion implantation, a less-toxic functional group (hydroxyl) is used as the ion source to bombard the ZK60 Mg alloy surface to form a functionalized oxide layer. The surface characterization, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility are systematically investigated before and after hydroxyl ion implantation. A smoother surface mainly constituted of hydroxide/oxide is formed for the treated samples. The formed functionalized layer significantly improves the corrosion resistance of the ZK60 Mg alloy substrate and the proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells, as demonstrated by electrochemical, immersion, and in vitro cytocompatibility tests. In summary, less-toxic functional ion implantation can be an effective strategy for preventing corrosion of Mg alloy implants and promoting their biocompatibility.

Abstract
In this paper, a tunable zoom bifocal liquid lens based on selective wettability is proposed. This lens consists of internal and external immiscible coaxial droplets surrounded by immiscible ambient liquid. Since curvatures and refractive indexes of the internal and external droplets are different, the system forms a long focus and a short focus, respectively. By applying different voltages, the curvatures of the internal and external droplets change exerting continuous movement of a long/short focal point in a certain range. To verify the feasibility and practicability of this concept, a prototype of the bifocal compound lens is fabricated in experiment, and the modulation ability of its long/short focal length is detected. The short focal length of our proposed lens varies from 15.46 mm to 17.47 mm, while the relative long focal length ranges from 96.25 mm to 70.31 mm driven by 200 V.

Abstract
BACKGROUND At present, there is no ideal method to cure diabetes, and there are few reports on the treatment of diabetes with probiotics.
AIM To propose a method for preparing a new type of chromium- and zinc-rich Acetobacter aceti (A. aceti) and explore its ability to enhance the hypoglycemic effects of probiotics in the treatment of diabetes.
METHODS A. aceti was cultured in a liquid medium that contained chromium trichloride and zinc chloride, both at a concentration of 64 mg/mL, with the initial concentration of the bacterial solution 1 × 104 CFU/mL. After the bacterial solution had been inducted for 48 h, the culture media was changed and the induction was repeated once. The levels of chromium and zinc in the bacteria were detected by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and the contents of NADH and glucose dehydrogenase were determined using an NAD/NADH kit and glucose dehydrogenase kit, respectively. Streptozotocin was used to establish a mouse model to evaluate the hypoglycemic effects of the proposed chromium- and zinc-rich A. aceti. Ten-times the therapeutic dose was administered to evaluate its biological safety. The effect on MIN6 islet cells was also assessed in vitro.
RESULTS The levels of chromium metal, metallic zinc, NADH coenzyme, and glucose dehydrogenase in A. aceti prepared by this method were 28.58-34.34 mg/kg, 5.35-7.52 mg/kg, 5.13-7.26 μM, and 446.812-567.138 U/g, respectively. The use of these bacteria resulted in a better hypoglycemic effect than metformin, promoting the repair of tissues and cells of pancreatic islets in vivo and facilitating the growth of MIN6 pancreatic islet cells and increasing insulin secretion in vitro. Ten-times the therapeutic dose of treatment was non-toxic to mice.
CONCLUSION Chromium trichloride and zinc chloride can be employed to induce the preparation of chromium- and zinc-rich A. aceti, which can then promote the hypoglycemic effect found in normal A. aceti. The bacteria biotransforms the chromium and zinc in a way that could increase their safety as a treatment for diabetes.

Abstract
Water-soluble volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are among the most difficult-to-treat species during wastewater treatment. The current purification and removal of high-concentration VOCs still rely on the energy-consuming distillation and high-pressure driven reverse osmosis technology. There is an urgent need for an advanced technology that can effectively remove high-concentration VOCs from water. Here, we report a metal-organic framework (MOF)/polyaniline (PANI) nanofiber array composite photothermal membrane for removal of high-concentration VOCs from water via molecular sieving during a solar-driven evaporation process. The modified zeolitic imidazole framework-8 (ZIF-8) layer grown on a PANI nanofiber array acts as a molecular sieving layer to evaporate water but intercept VOCs. The composite membrane exhibits high VOCs rejection and a high-water evaporation rate for water containing different concentrations of VOCs. When treating water containing VOCs with a concentration of up to 400 mg L-1, the VOCs rejection rate is up to 99% and the water evaporation rate is 1.0 kg m-2 h-1 under 1 sun irradiation (1 kW m-2). Our work effectively combines the molecular sieve effect with a solar-driven evaporation process, which provides an effective strategy for the treatment of water containing VOCs.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the changes in tobacco use and exposure in primary school students in Shandong province in 2012 and 2019. Methods: A multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method was used in the survey. In 2012 and 2019, 5 861 and 4 021 students from 3 different cities of Shandong province were selected as the study population. The questionnaire was filled anonymously by the subjects. χ2 test was conducted to compare the difference of groups. Results: In 2012 and 2019, the rate of attempting smoking among pupils under this study in Shandong province were 6.0%and 6.3%, respectively, while the current smoking rate were 1.2%and 2.3%, respectively. The sex ratio of male and female students attempting to smoke was 2.56∶1 in 2012 and 1.31∶1 in 2019. The sex ratio of current smoking rate was 2.43∶1 and 2.00∶1, respectively in 2012 and in 2019. The rate of tobacco exposure in the public places was 50.5%and 41.4%, respectively. The rate of tobacco exposure in family was 49.7% and 46.4%, respectively. Two rates of tobacco exposure decreased, but the reduction in family (3.3%) was far less than that in public places (9.1%). In 2019, the rate of tobacco exposure in family was higher than that in public places. Conclusions: The tobacco exposure rate declined in senior pupils in Shandong province. However, the situation is still grim for the current smoking rate, growth trend of girls tobacco use, and tobacco exposure in family.

Abstract
Global gyrokinetic simulations of mesoscale reversed shear Alfven eigenmodes (RSAE) excited by energetic particles (EP) in fusion plasmas find that RSAE amplitude and EP transport are much higher than experimental levels at nonlinear saturation, but quickly diminish to very low levels after the saturation if background microturbulence is artificially suppressed. In contrast, in simulations coupling micro-meso scales, the RSAE amplitude and EP transport decrease drastically at the initial saturation but later increases to the experimental levels in the quasisteady state with bursty dynamics due to regulation by thermal ion temperature gradient (ITG) microturbulence. The quasisteady state EP transport is larger for a stronger microturbulence. The RSAE amplitude in the quasisteady state ITG-RSAE turbulence from gyrokinetic simulations, for the first time, agrees very well with experimental measurements.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the ultrasonographic features and clinical pathological of liver metastasis in patients with melanoma. Methods: Thirteen patients with liver metastasis from melanoma treated in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from 2013 to 2019 were selected, and their ultrasonographic and clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Eleven of the 13 patients had multiple liver lesions. The maximum diameter of the lesions was (5.89±2.73) cm. Five cases of lesions were mixed echo (3 cases with high melanin content), 4 cases of lesions were hyperechoic (3 cases with low melanin content), 3 cases of lesions were hypoechoic (all with high melanin content), 1 case of lesions were equal echo (with high melanin content). The lesions in 11 patients had clear boundaries, while other 2 patients lacked the clear borders. Cystic areas were present in the lesions of 3 patients. Six cases had irregular lesions (lobulated), and 7 cases had regular lesions (round, oval). There were acoustic halos around the lesion in 9 cases and smooth and uneven acoustic halos in 5 cases. The results of immunohistochemistry showed that 11 cases were positive for S-100, HMB45 and Melan-A. One patient was not tested for HMB45, while S-100 and Melan-A were positive. One patient did not undergo Melan-A test, while S-100 and HMB45 were positive. Conclusion: Most of the liver metastases of melanoma are mixed echo or hyperechoic, most of them are nodular with clear boundaries combined with vocal halo, and a few of the lesions have cystic areas.

Abstract
Compared with cold lateral condensation and continuous wave of condensation which are classically used in clinical, newly emerging single-cone obturation technique is easy-to-operate as well as time-saving. Especially when combined with bioceramic root canal sealers of improved physicochemical and biological properties, single-cone obturation technique showed satisfactory short-term outcomes in clinical observations. However, difficulties still exist in avoiding the root canal overfilling and in operating the retreatment. Besides, the long-term effects of single-cone obturation with bioceramic sealers still remain unclear. This article makes an overview on the history and development of single-cone obturation ,and provides analysis of its pros and corns. Furthermore, we would also like to summarize its clinical application and look into its future improvements.

Abstract
In this paper, an optofluidic phase modulator array based on the piezoelectric effect is designed, fabricated, and characterized. This array is composed of three piezoelectric ceramics arranged on the vertices of an equilateral triangle. A transparent liquid fills the inner cavity of the ceramics. Due to the inverse piezoelectric effect, the length of the transparent liquid is changed at different voltages, which contributes to the optical phase modulation. According to experiment results, it is found that our modulator arrays exert continuous optical phase adjustment ability. When the voltage ranges from 0 to 135 V, the relative length variation reaches up to 9.286 µm, and consequently our proposed modulator arrays perform about 9.685 π optical phase modulation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Accumulating evidence indicates that miR-5195-3p exerts tumor-suppressive roles in several tumors. However, the clinical significance and biological function of miR-5195-3p in prostate cancer (PCa) have not been reported yet. METHODS The expression levels of miR-5195-3p and Cyclin L1 (CCNL1) were determined using quantitative real-time PCR in clinical specimens and cell lines. The clinical significance of miR-5195-3p in patients with PCa was evaluated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox regression models. Cell proliferation and cell cycle distribution were measured by CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry, respectively. The association between miR-5195-3p and CCNL1 was analyzed by luciferase reporter assay. RESULTS MiR-5195-3p expression levels were significantly downregulated in 69 paired PCa tissues compared with matched adjacent normal tissues. The decreased miR-5195-3p expression was associated with Gleason score and TNM stage, as well as worse survival prognosis. The in vitro experiments showed that miR-5195-3p overexpression suppressed the proliferation and cell cycle G1/S transition in PC-3 and DU145 cells. Elevated miR-5195-3p abundance obviously impaired tumor formation in vivo using PC-3 xenografts. Mechanistically, CCNL1 was a direct target of miR-5195-3p in PCa cells, which was inversely correlated with miR-5195-3p in PCa tissues. Importantly, CCNL1 knockdown imitated, while overexpression reversed, the effects of miR-5195-3p overexpression on PCa cell proliferation and cell cycle G1/S transition. CONCLUSIONS Our data suggest that miR-5195-3p functions as a tumor suppressor by targeting CCNL1 in PCa.
