Abstract
OBJECTIVE To characterize the species of invasive Pomacea snails that were discovered for the first time in Shandong Province. METHODS Pomacea snails samples were collected in the field of Jining City, Shandong Province on October 2021 for morphological identification. Pomacea snails were randomly sampled and genomic DNA was extracted from foot muscle tissues of Pomacea snails for multiplex PCR amplification. The PCR amplification product was sequenced. Then, the sequence was aligned and a phylogenetic tree was created using the software MegAlign 7.1.0. In addition, Angiostongylus cantonensis infection was detected in Pomacea snails with the lung microscopy. RESULTS A total of 104 living Pomacea snails were collected, and all were characterized as Pomacea spp. based on morphological features. Of 12 randomly selected adult Pomacea snails, multiplex PCR assay and sequencing identified eleven snails as P. canaliculata and one as P. maculata. No A. cantonensis infection was detected in 104 Pomacea snails. CONCLUSIONS This is the first report of invasive Pomacea snails in Shandong Province, where P. canaliculata and P. maculata are found.

Abstract
Objective: To systematically quantify the access to screening and surveillance service of liver cancer in populations in China, especially a series of sub-indicators of the availability. Methods: Following the specific indicators applied by the International Agency for Research on Cancer in the session of availability and use of screening practices in several cancer screening handbooks, information about the access/availability of liver cancer screening and surveillance in population in China were collected; the indicators included local policies and guidelines, procedures most commonly used or recommended, population coverage and participation rate, compliance and related factors, treatment rate, acceptability, equity and others. Systematic review approach was used, combined with searching core literatures/monograph, websites of governments and available program reports, for a systematic analysis on the access to liver cancer screening and surveillance in populations in China. Results: A total of 34 journal articles were included from the systematic review and most of which were about the participation of secondary liver screening or surveillance compliance; additional information were mainly obtained from the other sources. Overall, there were clearly recommended screening and surveillance procedures for liver cancer in the three major cancer screening programs funded by the central government of China. It was estimated that 0.09% of the population aged 35-74 years were covered by liver cancer screening in 2019 in China. The overall participation rates of secondary screening ranged from 37.5% to 62.3% in three major programs, the median compliance rate of surveillance was reported as 26.9% (Q1,Q3: 23.5%, 41.0%) in the 6 included studies. Two studies reported the factors affecting the participation and compliance. A large-scale multicenter analysis showed that the subject acceptability to alpha fetoprotein test combined with ultrasound screening was as high as 99.3% in high-risk population in urban area. The treatment rate of liver cancer founded by screening, surveillance or follow-up was estimated to be >90% in rural population. No studies of equity were obtained via the systematic review. Conclusions: The public health service programs in China all recommend specific procedures for liver cancer screening in general population and surveillance for high-risk individuals. However, the overall availability needs to be improved, particularly in the indicator of population coverage. Participation rates of screening and compliance rates of surveillance varied among the included programs and the studies, suggesting that the influencing factors need to be further identified. The relatively high subject acceptability suggests the potential demands for screening service. More efforts are needed to address the access to screening and surveillance of liver cancer in populations in China.

Abstract
BACKGROUND MXenes with interesting optical and electrical properties have been attractive in biomedical applications such as antibacterial and anticancer agents, but their low photogeneration efficiency of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and poor stability are major concerns against microbial resistance. METHODS Water-dispersible single layer Ti3C2Tx-based MXene through etching tightly stacked MAX phase precursor using a minimally intensive layer delamination method. After addition of Cu(II) ions, the adsorbed Cu(II) ions underwent self-redox reactions with the surface oxygenated moieties of MXene, leading to in situ formation of Cu2O species to yield Cu2O/Ti3C2Tx nanosheets (heterostructures). RESULTS Under NIR irradiation, the Cu2O enhanced generation of electron-hole pairs, which boosted the photocatalytic production of superoxide and subsequent transformation into hydrogen peroxide. Broad-spectrum antimicrobial performance of Cu2O/Ti3C2Tx nanosheets with sharp edges is attributed to the direct contact-induced membrane disruption, localized photothermal therapy, and in situ generated cytotoxic free radicals. The minimum inhibitory concentration of Cu2O/Ti3C2Tx nanosheets reduced at least tenfold upon NIR laser irradiation compared to pristine Cu2O/Ti3C2Tx nanosheets. The Cu2O/Ti3C2Tx nanosheets were topically administrated on the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infected wounds on diabetic mice. CONCLUSION Upon NIR illumination, Cu2O/Ti3C2Tx nanosheets eradicated MRSA and their associated biofilm to promote wound healing. The Cu2O/Ti3C2Tx nanosheets with superior catalytic and photothermal properties have a great scope as an effective antimicrobial modality for the treatment of infected wounds.

Abstract
Microalgae, a group of photosynthetic microorganisms rich in diverse and novel bioactive metabolites, have been explored for the production of biofuels, high value-added compounds as food and feeds, and pharmaceutical chemicals as agents with therapeutic benefits. This article reviews the development of omics resources and genetic engineering techniques including gene transformation methodologies, mutagenesis, and genome-editing tools in microalgae biorefinery and wastewater treatment. The introduction of these enlisted techniques has simplified the understanding of complex metabolic pathways undergoing microalgal cells. The multiomics approach of the integrated omics datasets, big data analysis, and machine learning for the discovery of objective traits and genes responsible for metabolic pathways was reviewed. Recent advances and limitations of multiomics analysis and genetic bioengineering technology to facilitate the improvement of microalgae as the dual role of wastewater treatment and biorefinery feedstock production are discussed. Abstract
Neoadjuvant therapy for colorectal cancer is widely used in rectal cancer, locally advanced colon cancer, and resectable metastatic and recurrent colorectal cancer. Mismatch repair deficient(dMMR) and microsatellite instablity-high (MSI-H) colorectal cancer patients who benefit from the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors are expected to further improve the efficacy of traditional neoadjuvant therapy based on radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In this paper, the current status of immunotherapy (with emphasis on immune checkpoint inhibitors) is elucidated, and the opportunities of its application in neoadjuvant therapy are analyzed, including poor sensitivity of dMMR tumors to traditional therapy, good immune response of early tumors, predictable, manageable and controllable toxicity of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Colorectal cancer patients have growing and diverse needs to be met. Current controversies and challenges are analyzed, and the future directions are pointed out, including active screening of benefit groups, exploration of efficacy prediction markers, optimization of neoadjuvant immunotherapy models, attention to efficacy evaluation and new therapeutic endpoints. Neoadjuvant therapy should be effective, moderate and accurate based on the treatment target. It is the prerequisite and basis to guarantee medical safety and improve therapeutic effect to attach importance to the standardization and safety of clinical research and to pay attention to patients' interests and legal and ethical demands.

Abstract
Objective: To construct a prediction model of pathologic complete response (pCR) in locally advanced rectal cancer patients who received programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody and total neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy by using radiomics based on MR imaging data and to investigate its predictive value. Methods: A clinical diagnostic test study was carried out. Clinicopathalogical and radiological data of 38 patients with middle-low rectal cancer who received PD-1 antibody combined with total neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and underwent TME surgery from January 2019 to September 2021 in our hospital were retrospectively collected. Among 38 patients, 23 were males and 15 were females with a median age of 68 (47-79) years and 13 (34.2%) a chieved pCR. These 38 patients were stratified and randomly divided into the training group (n=26) and test group (n=12) for modeling. All the patients underwent rectal MRI before treatment. The clinical, imaging and radiomics features of all the patients were collected, and the clinical feature model and radiomics model were constructed. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of each model were drawn, and the constructed model was evaluated through the area under the curve (AUC), accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value. Results: There were no significant differences in age, gender, primary location of tumor and postoperative pathology between the two groups (all P>0.05). Forty-one features were extracted from region of interest in each modality, including 9 first-order features, 24 gray level co-occurrence matrix features and 8 shape features. From 38 patients, 41 features were extracted from each imaging modality of baseline and preoperative DWI and T2WI images, totally 164 features. Only 4 features were preserved after correlation analysis between each pair of features and t-test between pCR and non-pCR subjects. After LASSO cross validation, only the first-order skewness of the baseline DWI image before treatment and the volume in the baseline T2WI image before treatment were retained. The area under the curve, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values of the prediction model established by applying these two features in the training group and the test group were 0.856 and 0.844, 77.8% and 100.0%, 88.2% and 75.0%, 77.8% and 66.7%, 88.2% and 100.0%, respectively. The decision curve analysis of the radiomics model showed that the strategy of this model in predicting pCR was better than that in treating all the patients as pCR and that in treating all the patients as non-pCR. Conclusion: The pCR prediction model for rectal cancer patients receiving PD-1 antibody combined with total neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy based on MRI radiomics has the potential to be used in clinical screening or rectal cancer patients who can be spared from radical surgery.

Abstract
Objective: To provide reference and evidence for clinical application of neoadjuvant immunotherapy in patients with colorectal cancer through multicenter large-scale analysis based on real-world data in China. Methods: This was a retrospective multicenter case series study. From January 2017 to October 2021, data of 94 patients with colorectal cancer who received neoadjuvant immunotherapy in Peking University Cancer Hospital (55 cases), Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (19 cases), Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (13 cases) and Changhai Hospital of Navy Medical University (7 cases) were retrospectively collected, including 48 males and 46 females. The median age was 58 years. Eighty-one cases were rectal cancer and 13 cases were colon cancer (2 cases of double primary colon cancer). Twelve cases were TNM staging II and 82 cases were stage III. Forty-six cases were well differentiated, 37 cases were moderately differentiated and 11 cases were poorly differentiated. Twenty-six patients (27.7%) with mismatch repair defects (dMMR) and microsatellite instability (MSI-H) were treated with immunotherapy alone, mainly programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1); sixty-eight cases (72.3%) with mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) and microsatellite stability (MSS) were treated with immune combined with neoadjuvant therapy, mainly CapeOx (capecitabine+oxaliplatin) combined with PD-1 antibody plus long- or short-course radiotherapy, or PD-1 antibody combined with cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) antibody. Analysis and evaluation of adverse events during neoadjuvant immunotherapy were performed according to the National Cancer Institute Common Toxicity Standard version 3.0; the surgical complications were evaluated according to the Clavien-Dindo grading standard; the efficacy evaluation of neoadjuvant immunotherapy included the following indicators: major pathological remission (MPR) was defined as tumor regression induced by neoadjuvant therapy in pathology residual tumor ≤10%; pathological complete response (pCR) was defined as tumor regression induced by neoadjuvant therapy without residual tumor in pathology; the tumor response rate was disease control rate (DCR), namely the proportion of complete response (CR), partial response (PR) and stable disease (SD) in the whole group; the objective response rate (ORR) was CR+PR. Results: The median cycle of neoadjuvant immunotherapy was 4 (1-10) in whole group, and the incidence of immune-related adverse reactions was 37.2% (35/94), including 35 cases (37.2%) of skin-related adverse reactions, 21 cases (22.3%) of thyroid dysfunction and 8 cases (8.5%) of immune enteritis, of which grade III or above accounted for 1.1%. The median interval between completion of neoadjuvant therapy and surgery was 30 (21-55) days. There were 81 cases of radical resection of rectal cancer, 11 cases of radical resection of colon cancer, and 2 cases of colon cancer combined with other organ resection. The primary tumor resection of all the patients reached R0. The incidence of surgical-related complications was 22.3% (21/94), mainly anastomotic leakage (4 cases), pelvic infection (4 cases), abdominal effusion (3 cases), anastomotic stenosis (3 cases ) and abdominal and pelvic hemorrhage (2 cases). Grade I-II complications developed in 13 cases (13.8%), grade III and above complications developed in 8 cases (8.5%), no grade IV or above complications were found. During a median follow-up of 32 (1-46 ) months, DCR was 98.9% (93/94), ORR was 88.3 % (83/94), pCR was 41.5% (39/94), MPR was 60.6% (57/94). The pCR rate of 26 patients with dMMR and MSI-H undergoing simple immunotherapy was 57.7% (15/26), and MPR rate was 65.4% (17/26). The pCR rate of 68 pMMR and MSS patients undergoing combined immunotherapy was 35.3%(24/68), and MPR rate was 58.8% (40/68). Conclusions: Neoadjuvant immunotherapy has favorable tumor control rate and pathological remission rate for patients with initial resectable colorectal cancer. The incidences of perioperative adverse reactions and surgical complications are acceptable.

Abstract
Most dry eye syndromes (DES) are caused by oxidative stress and an overactive inflammatory response, leading to tear deficiency and excessive tear evaporation. Conventional eye drops for DES treatment require high doses and frequent administration due to their insufficient precorneal residence time. To overcome these problems, in this study, we have developed carbonized nanogels (CNGs) via the straightforward pyrolysis of lysine hydrochloride (Lys) to provide a long-lasting eye drop formulation for topical DES therapy. This methodology thermally converts Lys-into nitrogen-doped crosslinked polymers with embedded nanographitic structures, which enable efficient free radical scavenging. The cationic and crosslinked polymeric features of the Lys-CNGs also prolong the precorneal retention time and improve ocular bioavailability. These Lys-CNGs exhibit high biocompatibility with corneal epithelial cells both in vitro and in vivo, indicating their safety as eye drops. In a DES rabbit model, a single dose of Lys-CNGs (50 µg mL-1) can effectively alleviate the signs of DES within 4 days, whereas multiple treatments of 10-fold higher concentration of cyclosporine A are needed to achieve similar therapeutic effects (one dose every 12 h; 500 µg mL-1). The topical administration of Lys-CNGs enable a reduced therapeutic dose and extended dosing interval, thereby demonstrating a superior therapeutic efficacy compared to the commercial cyclosporine A eye drops. These Lys-CNGs, which exhibit significant free radical scavenging, anti-inflammatory activity, high biocompatibility, and a remarkable ocular bioadhesive property, hold great potential as a long-lasting eye drop formulation for the treatment of dry eye disease. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: Multifunctional nanobiomaterial-based eye drops can render an ideal pharmaceutical formulation for the treatment of a variety of ocular surface diseases. To our knowledge, this is the first report describing the development of carbonized nanogels as topically administered therapeutics for alleviating dry eye syndrome (DES). We present evidence that the thermal transformation of lysine hydrochloride into carbonized nanogels (Lys-CNGs) endows superior antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and bioadhesive properties. While a single dose of Lys-CNGs (50 µg mL-1) is sufficient to relieve the symptoms of DES for 4 days, multiple treatments of 10-fold higher concentration of commercially available cyclosporine eye drops are needed to achieve similar therapeutic outcomes (one dose every 12 h; 500 µg mL-1), suggesting an effective and long-lasting ocular carbonized nanomedicine.

Abstract
This review summarizes experimental evidence indicating that subcutaneous mast cells are involved in the trigger mechanism of analgesia induced by acupuncture, a traditional oriental therapy, which has gradually become accepted worldwide. The results are essentially based on work from our laboratories. Skin mast cells are present at a high density in acupuncture points where fine needles are inserted and manipulated during acupuncture intervention. Mast cells are sensitive to mechanical stimulation because they express multiple types of mechanosensitive channels, including TRPV1, TRPV2, TRPV4, receptors and chloride channels. Acupuncture manipulation generates force and torque that indirectly activate the mast cells via the collagen network. Subsequently, various mediators, for example, histamine, serotonin, adenosine triphosphate and adenosine, are released from activated mast cells to the interstitial space; they or their downstream products activate the corresponding receptors situated at local nerve terminals of sensory neurons in peripheral ganglia. The analgesic effects are thought to be generated via the reduced electrical activities of the primary sensory neurons. Alternatively, these neurons project such signals to pain-relevant regions in spinal cord and/or higher centers of the brain.

Abstract
Objective: Based on the data of Global Burden of Disease 2019 data, to analyze the past, current, and future burden of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) in China and compare with the international status. Methods: The total number of DALYs, age-standardized DALY rate, and the composition of different subgroups were extracted and described to analyze the time trend in 2000-2019 and the current situation in 2019 for Chinese female breast cancer. The burden of DALYs in 2050 was predicted by Joinpoint using average annual percent change (AAPC). Results: In 2000-2019, the ranking of DALYs caused by female breast cancer in China rose from the fourth to the second in all female cancers. The total DALYs increased by 48.4%, of which the years lived with disability increased from 4.8% to 8.8%. The age-standardized DALY rate only slightly decreased (AAPC=-0.3%; which increased during 2016-2019, AAPC=1.6%). In 2019, the age-standardized DALY rate for breast cancer in China was 278.0/100 000. The DALYs were 2.88 million (accounting for 14.2% of the global burden and 12.1% of all female cancers burden in China), 26.5% of which attributed known risk factors (overweight and obesity were the largest: 0.34 million DALYs, but some common breast cancer risk factors were not available on the platform, such as menstruation and fertility). In 2050, the prediction suggests that the total DALYs caused by female breast cancer in China will reach 3.80 million person-years-5.16 million person-years, increasing 32.1%-79.4% over 2019. From 2000 to 2019, the peak age of DALYs and DALY rate became older, and the DALYs among females aged 65 years and above increased faster than those younger than 65 years (AAPC were 4.8% and 1.3%, respectively). In 2019, females aged 45-74 (the starting age recommended by local guidelines for breast cancer screening) contributed 74.3% of the total DALYs. Conclusions: Over the past 20 years, the age-standardized DALY rate for breast cancer in female populations in China has not changed obviously. Without the continuous expansion of effective intervention and population aging, the burden of DALYs for female breast cancer in China will increase. DALYs for breast cancer attributed leading risk factors were still limited.

Abstract
Objective: Total neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy is one of the standard treatments for locally advanced rectal cancer. This study aims to investigate the safety and feasibility of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) antibody combined with total neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced middle-low rectal cancer with high-risk factors. Methods: A descriptive cohort study was conducted. Clinicopathological data of 24 patients with locally advanced middle-low rectal cancer with high-risk factors receiving PD-1 antibody combined with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in Gastrointestinal Cancer Center, Unit III, Peking University Cancer Hospital between January 2019 and April 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Inclusion criteria: (1) rectal adenocarcinoma confirmed by pathology; patient age of ≥ 18 years and ≤ 80 years; (2) the distance from low margin of tumor to anal verge ≤ 10 cm under sigmoidoscopy; (3) ECOG performance status score 0-1; (4) clinical stage T3c, T3d, T4a or T4b, or extramural venous invasion (EMVI) (+) or mrN2 (+) or mesorectal fasciae (MRF) (+) based on MRI; (5) no evidence of distant metastases; (6) no prior pelvic radiation therapy, no prior chemotherapy or surgery for rectal cancer; (7) no systemic infection requiring antibiotic treatment and no immune system disease. Exclusion criteria: (1) anticipated unresectable tumor after neoadjuvant treatment; (2) patients with a history of a prior malignancy within the past 5 years, or with a history of any arterial thrombotic event within the past 6 months; (3) patients received other types of antitumor or experimental therapy; (4) women who were pregnant or breast-feeding; (5) patients with any other concurrent medical or psychiatric condition or disease; (6) patients received immunotherapy (PD-1 antibody). The neoadjuvant therapy consisted of three stages: PD-1 antibody (sintilimab 200 mg, IV, Q3W) combined with CapeOx regimen for three cycles; long-course intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) with gross tumor volume (GTV) 50.6 Gy/CTV 41.8 Gy/22f; CapeOx regimen for two cycles after radiotherapy. After oncological evaluation following the end of the third stage of treatment, surgery or watch and wait would be carried out. Surgical safety, histopathological changes and short-term oncological outcome were analyzed. Results: There were 15 males and 9 females with a median age of 65 (47-78) years. Median distance from the lower margin of the tumor to the anal verge was 4 (3-7) cm. The median maximal diameter of the tumor was 5.1 (2.1-7.5) cm. Twenty patients were cT3, 4 were cT4, 8 were cN1, 5 were cN2a, 11 were cN2b. Ten cases were MRF (+) and 10 were EMVI (+). All the patients were mismatch repair proficient (pMMR). During the neoadjuvant treatment period, 6 patients (25.0%) developed grade 1-2 treatment-related adverse events, including 3 immune-related adverse events. As of April 30, 2021, 20 patients (83.3%, 20/24) had received surgical resection, including 19 R0 resections and 16 sphincter-preservation operations. Morbidity of postoperative complication was 25.0% (5/20), including 2 cases of Clavien-Dindo grade II (1 of anastomotic bleeding and 1 of pseudomembranous enteritis), 3 cases of grade I anastomotic stenosis. Pathological complete response (pCR) rate was 30.0% (6/20) and major pathological response rate was 20.0% (4/20). None of Ras/Raf mutants had pCR or cCR (0/5), while 6 of 17 Ras/Raf wild-type patients had pCR and 3 had cCR, which was significantly higher than that of Ras/Raf mutants (P<0.01). Nine of 16 patients with Ras/Raf wild-type and differentiated adenocarcinoma had pCR or cCR. Among other 4 patients without surgery, 3 patients preferred watch and wait strategy because their tumors were assessed as clinical complete response (cCR), while another one patient refused surgery as the tumor remained stable. After a median follow-up of 11 (6-24) months, only 1 patient with signet ring cell carcinoma had recurrence. Conclusions: PD-1 antibody combined with total neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced rectal cancer has quite good safety and histopathological regression results. Combination of histology and genetic testing is helpful to screen potential beneficiaries.

Abstract
Objective: Severe radiation-induced late rectal injury (sRLRI) directly affects the quality of life of patients with rectal cancer. Effective prediction of sRLRI before surgery may provide important information for the selection of surgical strategies and perioperative managements. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of predicting sRLRI based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features before and after radiotherapy for rectal cancer. Methods: This was a diagnostic study. Clinical and imaging data of 90 patients with rectal cancer receiving long-term radiotherapy from June 2013 to July 2018 in the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were collected retrospectively. Case inclusion criteria: (1) rectal cancer was diagnosed by pathology and age of ≥ 18 years old; (2) patients received neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and anterior rectal resection; (3) follow up time ≥ 3 years; (4) patients had no history of other neoplasm. Exclusion criteria: (1) patients did not receive MRI examination in our hospital within 2 weeks before and/or 8 weeks after radiotherapy; (2) images were not good enough for evaluation; (3) medical records were incomplete; (4) patients had severe gastrointestinal diseases. According to the RTOG/EORTC classification criteria for radiation reactions, severe complications of grade 3-4 requiring surgical management were defined as sRLRI. T2WI and DWI images before and after radiotherapy were evaluated. The rectal wall thickness, bladder wall thickness, rectal sacral spacing and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) were measured. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of the above indicators for sRLRI. Results: Among the 90 patients with rectal cancer, 34 (37.8%) developed sRLRI. Before radiotherapy, the median rectal wall thickness of sRLRI and non-sRLRI patients was 4.530 mm and 4.355 mm, respectively; the median bladder wall thickness was 3.962 mm and 3.868 mm, respectively; the median rectal sacral spacing was 15.557 mm and 12.433 mm, respectively; the median ADC value of rectal wall was 1.620 ×10(-3) mm(2)/s and 1.653 ×10(-3) mm(2)/s, respectively. There were no significant differences in above indicators between sRLRI and non-sRLRI patients (all P>0.05). After radiotherapy, compared with non-sRLRI patients, sRLRI patients had increased rectal wall thickness (median: 8.239 mm vs. 6.223 mm, Z=-3.512, P=0.001), rectal sacral spacing (median: 17.728 mm vs. 13.885 mm, Z=-2.247, P=0.025), and change of rectal wall thickness after radiotherapy (median: 98.106% vs. 49.584%, Z=-4.169, P<0.001). After radiotherapy, there were no significant differences in the bladder wall thickness and its change value, the ADC value of rectal wall and its change rate before and after radiotherapy between the two groups (all P>0.05). The area under the curve (AUC) of the change rates of rectal wall thickness after radiotherapy, rectal wall thickness and rectal sacral spacing after radiotherapy for predicting sRLRI was 0.763, 0.722 and 0.642, respectively, while the sensitivity was 85.3%, 70.6% and 76.5%, respectively, and the specificity was 64.3%, 71.4% and 57.1%, respectively. Conclusion: Based on MRI examinations, assessments of rectal wall thickness after radiotherapy, the change rate of rectal wall thickness after radiotherapy, and rectal sacral spacing after radiotherapy are helpful for evaluating the risk of sRLRI after radiotherapy for patients with rectal cancer.

Abstract
A study was conducted to investigate the inclusion effects of sugar beet pulp and rice straw mixture silage with inoculation (BRMS), in place of whole-plant corn silage (CS), on the dry matter intake, total-tract nutrient digestibility, plasma metabolites, rumen fermentation, and lactation performance in high-production dairy cows. Sixteen multiparous Holstein cows (body weight, 622 ± 35 kg; days in milk, 90 ± 11 d; mean ± standard deviation) were used in our experiments; the experiments were based on a repeated 4 × 4 Latin square design for 21 d, and each experimental period consisted of 14 d of adaptation, followed by 7 d of data collection. The 4 dietary treatments used were (dry matter basis): (1) 0% BRMS and 28.6% CS (0BRMS); (2) 4.3% BRMS and 24.3% CS (15BRMS); (3) 8.60% BRMS and 20.0% CS (30BRMS); and (4) 12.9% BRMS and 15.7% CS (45BRMS). The increasing inclusion of dietary BRMS was observed to linearly increase the total volatile fatty acids and the propionate concentration. The dry matter intake and digestibility values of neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber increased linearly as the percentage of BRMS increased up to 45%. Milk yield linearly increased with the increase in the content of BRMS (39.0, 39.8, 40.9, and 40.3 kg/d for 0BRMS, 15BRMS, 30BRMS, and 45BRMS, respectively). The increasing inclusion of dietary BRMS induced a decrease in the ammonia nitrogen and milk urea nitrogen concentration, leading to a linear increase in milk protein production (1.15, 1.26, 1.35, and 1.27 kg/d for 0BRMS, 15BRMS, 30BRMS, and 45BRMS, respectively). In conclusion, the diets with the replacement of CS with BRMS up to 45% were beneficial to the production performance of high-production dairy cows, indicating that this method may be an appropriate use of sugar beet pulp and rice straw.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lateral facial clefts are atypical with a low incidence in the facial cleft spectrum. With the development of ultrasonography (US) prenatal screening, such facial malformations can be detected and diagnosed prenatally rather than at birth. Although three-dimensional US (3DUS) can render the fetus' face via 3D reconstruction, the 3D images are displayed on two-dimensional screens without field depth, which impedes the understanding of untrained individuals. In contrast, a 3D-printed model of the fetus' face helps both parents and doctors develop a more comprehensive understanding of the facial malformation by creating more interactive aspects. Herein, we present an isolated lateral facial cleft case that was diagnosed via US combined with a 3D-printed model.
CASE SUMMARY A 31-year-old G2P1 patient presented for routine prenatal screening at the 22nd wk of gestation. The coronal nostril-lip section of two-dimensional US (2DUS) demonstrated that the fetus' bilateral oral commissures were asymmetrical, and left oral commissure was abnormally wide. The left oblique-coronal section showed a cleft at the left oral commissure which extended to the left cheek. The results of 3DUS confirmed the cleft. Furthermore, we created a model of the fetal face using 3D printing technology, which clearly presented facial malformations. The fetus was diagnosed with a left lateral facial cleft, which was categorized as a No. 7 facial cleft according to the Tessier facial cleft classification. The parents terminated the pregnancy at the 24th wk of gestation after parental counseling.
CONCLUSION In the diagnostic course of the current case, in addition to the traditional application of 2D and 3DUS, we created a 3D-printed model of the fetus, which enhanced diagnostic evidence, benefited the education of junior doctors, improved parental counseling, and had the potential to guide surgical planning.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of dietary supplement Licofor in the treatment of dry eye associated with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). Methods: This was a prospective, randomized controlled clinical trial. Sixty patients [25 males, 35 females, aged (42±13) years] who had dry eye associated with MGD were recruited in Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from December 2018 to October 2019. The patients were equally divided into two groups: 30 cases (60 eyes) in the experimental group and 30 cases (60 eyes) in the control group. All subjects were treated with eye hot compress, artificial tears and antibiotic ointment. After that, the experimental group and control group were received dietary supplementary Licofor or placebo daily for 12 weeks. The symptoms and signs of dry eye, morphology and function of meibomian gland, and inflammatory response were assessed at the beginning, 4th, 8th and 12th week of treatment. Results: After 12 weeks of treatment, statistically significant improvements in ocular surface disease index (OSDI) scores, tear break-up time (TBUT), corneal fluorescein staining (CFS), the morphology of eyelid margin, meibomian gland orifice, meibomian gland expressibility, meibum quality, and periglandular inflammatory cell density were determined in both groups (all P<0.05). In the Licofor group, the improvement of OSDI scores [16.7 (12.5, 20.8) vs 20.8 (18.8, 22.9), P<0.001], the morphology of eyelid margin, meibomian gland orifice and periglandular inflammatory cell density [443 (318, 513) vs 553 (415, 676)/mm2, P=0.002] were more significant (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The combined treatment of licofor and conventional treatment can significantly improve symptoms of dry eye, the morphology of eyelid margin, meibomian gland orifice, meibum quality, and eyelid inflammation response of dry eye associated with MGD.

Abstract
Objective: To establish a direct dilution-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry method for the determination of manganese in urine. Methods: Using 1% nitric acid solution as diluent, the urine dilution factor and internal standard elements were determined by single factor rotation experiment. The linear range, correlation coefficient, precision, accuracy and detection limit of the direct dilution-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry for the determination of manganese in urine were evaluated. Results: The linear range of this method was 0.0-20 μg/L, the correlation coefficient was 0.999 9, the detection limit was 0.02 μg/L, the recoveries were 84.65%-103.40%, the relative standard deviations were 0.26%-8.17%. Conclusion: This method has the advantages of simple operation, high sensitivity and low detection limit. It can be used for the determination of urine manganese at the same time with other elements. It is suitable for the determination of urine manganese in workers and ordinary people.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and diagnosis of imported malaria before and after malaria elimination in Nanjing City of Jiangsu Province, so as to provide the scientific evidence for formulating the malaria control strategy after malaria elimination. METHODS Data pertaining to the epidemic situation and individual investigation of malaria in Nanjing City before (from 2012 to 2016) and after malaria elimination (from 2017 to 2020) were captured from the National Notifiable Communicable Disease Reporting System and the Information System for Parasitic Diseases Control and Prevention and were analyzed statistically. RESULTS A total of 178 malaria cases were reported in Nanjing City from 2012 to 2020, and all were imported cases. There were 99 malaria cases reported before malaria elimination in Nanjing City, including 78 cases with Plasmodium falciparum malaria (78.79%), 5 cases with P. vivax malaria (5.05%), 10 cases with P. ovale malaria (10.10%), 3 cases with P. malariae malaria (3.03%) and 3 cases with mixed infections (3.03%), and 79 malaria cases reported after elimination, including 63 cases with P. falciparum malaria (79.75%), 5 cases with P. vivax malaria (6.33%), 9 cases with P. ovale malaria (11.39%), 2 cases with P. malariae malaria (2.53%). There was no significant difference in the proportion of each type of malaria cases in Nanjing City before and after malaria elimination (χ2 =2.400, P > 0.05). Malaria cases mainly acquired Plasmodium infections in African regions, and no significant difference was seen in the proportion of malaria cases returning to Nanjing City from African countries before and after malaria elimination (χ2 = 0.093, P > 0.05). The number of malaria cases peaked in Nanjing City in January and during the period from May to July before elimination, and there was no apparent seasonal variation in the distribution of malaria cases after elimination. The proportion of malaria cases living in Nanjing City was significantly greater after malaria elimination than before elimination (72.15% vs. 55.56%; χ2 = 5.187, P = 0.023). The proportions of businessmen and international students were both 5.05% before malaria elimination, and increased to 15.19% and 13.92% after elimination, respectively (χ2 = 5.229 and 4.229, both P values < 0.05). The percentage of definitive diagnosis of malaria at initial diagnosis was 18.75% in county-level hospitals before malaria elimination and increased to 61.11% after elimination (χ2 = 6.275, P = 0.012), while the proportion of malaria cases with definitive diagnoses in county-level hospitals was 4.04% before malaria elimination and increased to 13.92% after elimination (χ2 = 5.562, P = 0.018). During the period from 2012 to 2020, the proportion of malaria cases with definitive diagnoses within 1 to 3 days post-admission increased from 27.27% in Nanjing City before malaria elimination to 45.57% after elimination (χ2 = 6.433, P = 0.011). CONCLUSIONS The epidemic situation of imported malaria remains serious in Nanjing City during the post-elimination stage, and malaria parasite infections predominantly occur in African regions. In addition, there are changes in regional and occupational distributions of malaria cases and the diagnostic capability of malaria increases in county-level hospitals in Nanjing City after malaria elimination. Further improvements in the malaria surveillance system and the diagnostic and treatment capability of malaria in medical institutions at each level are required to consolidate malaria elimination achievements in Nanjing City.

Abstract
Since it was first reported in December 2019, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection has spread rapidly around the world to cause the ongoing pandemic. Although the clinical manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 infection are predominantly in the respiratory system, liver enzyme abnormalities exist in around half of the cases, which indicate liver injury, and raise clinical concern. At present, there is no consensus whether the liver injury is directly caused by viral replication in the liver tissue or indirectly by the systemic inflammatory response. This review aims to summarize the clinical manifestations and to explore the underlying mechanisms of liver dysfunction in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the molecular mechanisms of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC) with sarcomatoid differentiation (CCRCCS) and to explore new therapeutic targets for CCRCCS. Methods: Whole exome sequencing was performed on the carcinomatous and sarcomatoid components of five CCRCCS cases collected from January 2017 to October 2018. A highly frequent non-synonymous mutation of cadherin 23 (CDH23) was revealed by whole exome sequencing and further studied in additional samples. The sequencing of CDH23 in 40 specimens with CCRCCS and 50 specimens with CCRCC collected from January 2008 to October 2018 were conducted using Sanger sequencing. Immunohistochemistry was carried out to detect the protein expression of CDH23 in the additional 90 cases. Results: Carcinomatous and sarcomatoid components of CCRCCS shared most of the somatic single-nucleotide variants (SSNVs) as revealed through whole exome sequencing, while the sarcomatoid component had higher overall SSNVs than carcinomatous component. A highly frequent non-synonymous mutation of CDH23 (p.Arg1804Gln) was observed both in carcinomatous and sarcomatoid components of CCRCCS that resulted in the alteration in the highly conserved calcium-binding site mediating the functions of cadherins. In the additional 90 specimens, CDH23 mutation was much frequently detected in CCRCCS than that in CCRCC samples and even the high grade CCRCC. CDH23 protein was not or weakly expressed in most CCRCCS specimens with CDH23 mutation. There was an correlation between CDH23 gene mutation and negative expression of its protein (r=0.598, P<0.01). Conclusions: The present study reveals, for the first time, that the mutation of CDH23 (p.Arg1804Gln) is a genetic risk factor for CCRCCS. It is associated with the decreased expression of CDH23 protein, resulting in the absence of cadherin function of CDH23, indicating that CDH23 mutation may be involved in the sarcomatoid transformation in CCRCCS. Thus, CDH23 might be a potential therapeutic target for CCRCCS.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) on contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) in patients with chronic total occlusion (CTO) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods: A total of 282 patients undergoing PCI at Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University between June 2017 and January 2019 were prospectively enrolled. The patients were randomly divided into RIPC group (n=142) and control group (n=140). CI-AKI was defined as an increase in level of cystatin C (CysC)≥10% above baseline at 24 h after contrast administration. Baseline characteristics and the incidence of CI-AKI were compared between the two groups. The multivariate logistic regression analysis was further used to analyze the independent risk factors of CI-AKI. Results: There were no significant differences in age, gender, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, stroke and old myocardial infarction, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, previous PCI history and laboratory test indicators, target vessel and pathological characteristics of CTO lesions, contrast agent dosage, J-CTO (Multicenter CTO Registry in Japan) score, SYNTAX (Synergy between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery) score, PCI success rate and stent number between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidence of CI-AKI was significantly lower (18.3% vs 29.3%, P=0.036) in RIPC group than that of control group. Multivariate logistic analysis found that creatinine [odds ratio (OR)=1.018,95%CI: 1.006-1.030, P=0.003], CysC (OR=5.200, 95%CI:2.714-9.963, P<0.001),contrast agent dosage (OR=1.013,95%CI: 1.007-1.019, P<0.001) and J-CTO score (OR=1.834, 95%CI: 1.145-2.939, P=0.012) were independent risk factors of CI-AKI. However, RIPC was an independent protective factor of CI-AKI (OR=0.391, 95%CI: 0.199-0.765, P=0.006). Conclusion: RIPC before contrast agent administration prevents CI-AKI in CTO patients undergoing PCI.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the changes of CTCs and the correlation between the changes of CTCs and the clinical efficacy of neoadjuvant immunotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted to collect the data of 23 patients with NSCLC who received neoadjuvant immunotherapy in the Third Xiangya Hospital from June 2018 to December 2019. They were 35-76 years old with a median age of 52 years old, including 13 male patients and 10 female patients. The CTCs value, evaluation results from response evaluation criteria in solid tumor (RECIST) and major pathological response were evaluated before treatment, after neoadjuvant immunotherapy and after operation. Mann Whitney U test was used for the comparison between the two groups, Wilcoxon test was used for the comparison of association samples, and Kruskal Wallis test was used for the comparison between multiple samples. Results: The CTCs value was positively correlated with tumor progression, that the CTCs value of ⅡB group, ⅢA group and ⅢB group was 10.69 (3.87) FU/3 ml, 12.90 (2.24) FU/3 ml and 16.04 (3.43) FU/3 ml, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=7.829, P=0.020). Then CTCs decreased to 7.60(4.79) FU/3 ml significantly (Z=4.197,P=0.000), and decreased to 6.22(2.80) FU/3 ml significantly again after surgery(Z=-2.950,P=0.005). In RECIST results, the CTCs value of CR group, PR group and SD group was 12.90(3.79)FU/3 ml, 12.52(3.96) FU/3 ml and 13.58(5.11) FU/3 ml,and no significant difference before treatment (χ²=1.806, P=0.405). After neoadjuvant immunotherapy, the CTCs of CR group decreased to 6.22(3.87) FU/3 ml significantly (Z=-4.950, P= 0.000), and also PR group to7.32(4.31) FU/3 ml (Z=-3.180, P=0.001) or SD group to (Z=-2.023, P=0.043). There was no significant difference between CR group and PR group (Z=-0.838, P=0.402), but significant difference between SD group and CR/PR group (Z=-1.922, P=0.050). After operation, the CTCs of CR, PR and SD group decreased to 6.09(3.43) FU/3 ml, 6.40(1.82) FU/3 ml and 9.20(5.16) FU/3 ml,and there was no significant difference to preparation in CR group and PR group, but significant difference in SD group (Z=-2.023, P=0.043). There was no significant difference between CR group and PR group (Z=-1.134, P=0.257), but significant difference between SD group and CR/PR group (Z=-1.624, P=0.014). Before treatment,CTCs of MPR group and non-MPR group were 11.98(4.14) FU/3 ml and 13.54(4.76) FU/3 ml,and there was no significant difference between them (Z=-1.354, P=0.176). After neoadjuvant immunotherapy, the CTCs of MPR group decreased to 6.36(2.65) FU/3 ml significantly (Z=-2.934, P=0.001) and also in non-MPR group to 10.88(2.80) FU/3 ml (Z=-2.840, P=0.003); but there was significant difference between MPR group and non-MPR group (Z=-3.693, P=0.000), and also the change of CTCs between two groups (Z=-2.770, P=0.006). After operation, the CTCs of MPR group decreased to 5.40(1.33) FU/3 ml insignificantly (Z=-0.533, P=0.594) but significantly to 7.05(3.80) FU/3 ml in non-MPR group (Z=-2.734, P=0.030), and significant difference between them (Z=-1.900, P=0.011). Conclusion: The value of CTCs is negatively correlated with the efficacy (RECIST and MPR) of neoadjuvant immunotherapy for NSCLC, which can be used for clinical efficacy evaluation of neoadjuvant immunotherapy.

The precise substitution of NH4+ with Na+/Rb+ cations in NPF·H2O leads to a stepwise reconstruction of the hydrogen bond networks from NPF·H2O, NNPF·H2O to NRPF·H2O, giving rise to the symmetry and optical property tunings.
