[Trypsin immobilization in silica gel]

Trypsin immobilization in an inorganic polymer, i.e. silica gel, was investigated. Properties of the immobilized enzyme were examined. It was found that the enzyme retained its activity, depending on the gel genesis and dehydration of the carrier. The effect of stabilizing supplements on the enzyme activity was studied. The enzyme immobilization was accompanied by an increase in its thermostability.

[Enzyme immobilization via silochromes, modified by transition metal salts]

The immobilization of pectoawamorine G 10X, pronase E and P, protease from Bac. mesentericus and rat liver microsomal fraction was performed by sylochromes modified by Ti, Zr and Hf salts. The pectinesterase, caseinolytic, esterase and hydroxylating activity of the immobilized preparations, their stability during storage, thermostability and pH optimum are determined. Of greatest interest for practical application are preparations of pectoawamorine. G 10X and pronase E and P immobilized by HfOCl2.

Synthesis of oligodeoxyribonucleotides on silica gel support

A rapid solid phase method of oligonucleotide synthesis based on monomeric protected nucleosides has been developed.

[Glucoamylase immobilization on silochrome using gossypol]

The paper is concerned with conditions of glucoamylase binding with silanized silochrome using gossypol, dialdehyde isolated from cotton-plant. Kinetic properties of the immobilized enzyme are studied. The enzyme pH optimum does not change with immobilization and the temperature optimum is shifted from 50 degrees to 60 degrees C; a certain increase of the seeming Km is also observed. A high yield of the enzyme activity in immobilization evidences for the possibility of using gossypol as a binding agent in glucoamylase immobilization.

Simulation of space cabin atmosphere

The Soyuz 22 space cabin atmosphere was studied for volatile organic trace contaminants. By gas chromatography the following constituents were identified: methane, ethane, heptane, methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, acetaldehyde, acetone, ethyl benzene. Except for acetone, concentrations of the above compounds were close to the values determined in the mock-up experiments.
