Abstract
Rapid control and prevention of diseases caused by foodborne pathogens is one of the existing food safety regulatory issues faced by various countries and has received wide attention from all sectors of society. The development of rapid and reliable detection methods for foodborne pathogens remains a hot research area for food safety and public health because of the limitations of complex steps, time-consuming, low sensitivity, or poor selectivity of commonly used methods. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), as a novel spectroscopic technique, has the advantages of high sensitivity, selectivity, rapid and nondestructive detection and has exhibited broad application prospects in the determination of pathogenic bacteria. In this study, the enhancement mechanisms of SERS are briefly introduced, then the characteristics and properties of liquid-phase, rigid solid-phase, and flexible solid-phase are categorized. Furthermore, a comprehensive review of the advances in label-free or label-based SERS strategies and SERS-compatible techniques for the detection of foodborne pathogens is provided, and the advantages and disadvantages of these methods are reviewed. Finally, the current challenges of SERS technology applied in practical applications are listed, and the possible development trends of SERS in the field of foodborne pathogens detection in the future are discussed.

Abstract
The current work combines headspace solid phase microextraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC/MS) with multivariate analysis fusion metabonomics for examining metabolite profile changes. The correlation with metabolic pathways during the fermentation of kombucha tea were comprehensively explored. For optimizing the fermentation process, ultrasound-assisted factors were explored. A total of 132 metabolites released by fermented kombucha were detected by HS-SPME-GC/MS. We employed the principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) to present the relationship between aroma components and fermentation time, of which the first two principal components respectively accounted for 60.3% and 6.5% of the total variance. Multivariate statistical analysis showed that during the fermentation of kombucha tea, there were significant differences in the phenotypes of metabolites in the samples, and 25 characteristic metabolites were selected as biomarkers. Leaf alcohol was first proposed as the characteristic volatile in the fermentation process of kombucha. Furthermore, we addressed the generation pathways of characteristic volatiles, their formation mechanisms, and the transformational correlation among them. Our findings provide a roadmap for future kombucha fermentation processing to enhance kombucha flavor and aroma.

Abstract
Using a sample of 4.3×10^{5} η^{'}→ηπ^{0}π^{0} events selected from the ten billion J/ψ event dataset collected with the BESIII detector, we study the decay η^{'}→ηπ^{0}π^{0} within the framework of nonrelativistic effective field theory. Evidence for a structure at π^{+}π^{-} mass threshold is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of π^{0}π^{0} with a statistical significance of around 3.5σ, which is consistent with the cusp effect as predicted by the nonrelativistic effective field theory. After introducing the amplitude for describing the cusp effect, the ππ scattering length combination a_{0}-a_{2} is determined to be 0.226±0.060_{stat}±0.013_{syst}, which is in good agreement with theoretical calculation of 0.2644±0.0051.

Abstract
Despite the blossoming of reports of diastereodivergent synthesis over the past years, switchable control of the stereochemistry of the bridgehead atoms of the fused frameworks has been significantly underdeveloped. Here we disclose the ability of Pd0-π-Lewis base catalysis to finely reverse the concerted inverse-electron-demand aza-Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction between cyclic 1,3-dienes and aurone-derived 1-azadienes. In contrast, the in situ-formed HOMO-energy-increased Pd0-η2-complexes of cyclic 1,3-dienes underwent a cascade vinylogous Michael addition/allylic amination process with 1-azadienes. Moreover, judicious selection of chiral ligands allowed for switchable diastereodivergent [4 + 2] annulations to be accomplished, resulting in the construction of both cis- and trans-fused tetrahydropyridine architectures in high yields with moderate to excellent stereoselectivity levels. A variety of acyclic 1,3-dienes and 1-heterodienes were also applied, and furnished a structural diversity of enantioenriched frameworks.

Abstract
The persistence of carbendazim residues in the food chain poses a potential risk to human health. Therefore, an eco-friendly selective and sensitive fluorescence nanosensor was established for carbendazim determination based on molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) modified upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs). The molecularly imprinted coating with methacrylamide as a functional monomer and carbendazim as a template molecule grafted on the UCNPs (UCNPs@MIP) constituted fluorescent recognition elements. The fluorescence emission of UCNPs@MIP significantly declined in the presence of carbendazim due to electron transfer induced by its selective binding with MIP cavities. The quenched fluorescence of UCNPs@MIP was recovered once the template carbendazim was eluted from the probe system. Under the optimized conditions, the proposed method offers a good linear correlation between 0.01 and 1 μg/mL, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.0036 μg/mL for carbendazim residues. The analytical utility and reliability of the developed biomimetic platform were examined in real food samples with good recoveries (88.790%∼102.675%) and relative standard deviation (RSD) values (0.491%∼3.779%). The method was further validated by a standard HPLC method in terms of student's t-test (p > 0.05) with no significant differences between the two methods. Hence, the proposed fluorescence sensor has prospects for rapid determination of carbendazim.

Abstract
Gut microecosystem has been shown to play an important role in human health. In recent years, the concept of the gut-kidney axis has been proposed to explain the potential association between gut microbiota and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Here, a cohort of fecal samples collected from patients with CKD (n = 13) were involved. The composition of gut microbial communities and clinical features in CKD and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) were characterized. Our study focused on the changes in gut microbiome and the correlation with clinical features in patients with CKD and ESRD by analyzing high-throughput sequencing results of collected feces. We elucidated the alterations of gut microbiota in CKD patients at different stages of disease and initially identified the gut microbiota associated with CKD progression. We also combined correlation analysis to identify clinical features closely related to the gut microbiome. Our results offered the possibility of using non-invasive gut microbiome in the early diagnosis of course from CKD to ESRD and provide new insights into the association between clinical features and gut microbiota in CKD.

Abstract
Carboxylic acids are not readily applied as carbon-based nucleophiles due to their intrinsic acidic group. Here, we demonstrate that free (E,E)-2,4-dienoic acids form electron-neutral and highest occupied molecular orbital-raised η2-complexes with Pd(0) and undergo Friedel-Crafts-type additions to imines with exclusive α-regioselectivity, giving formal dienylated products after decarboxylation. Unusual and switchable (E,E)- and (Z,E)-selectivity, along with excellent enantioselectivity, is achieved via ligand-controlled outer-sphere or inner-sphere reaction modes, respectively, which are well supported by comprehensive density functional theory calculation studies. An unprecedented formal reductive Mannich reaction between (E,E)-dienoic acids and imines is also developed to furnish enantioenriched β-amino acid derivatives.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pharmacological modulation of cannabinoid 2 receptor (CB2R) is a promising therapeutic strategy for pulmonary fibrosis (PF). Thus, to develop CB2R selective ligands with new chemical space has attracted much research interests. This work aims to discover a novel CB2R agonist from an in-house library, and to evaluate its therapeutic effects on PF model, as well as to disclose the pharmacological mechanism. METHODS Virtual screening was used to identify the candidate ligand for CB2R from a newly established in-house library. Both in vivo experiments on PF rat model and in vitro experiments on cells were performed to investigate the therapeutic effects of the lead compound and underlying mechanism. RESULTS A "natural product-like" pyrano[2,3-b]pyridine derivative, YX-2102 was identified that bound to CB2R with high affinity. Intraperitoneal YX-2102 injections significantly ameliorated lung injury, inflammation and fibrosis in a rat model of PF induced by bleomycin (BLM). On one hand, YX-2102 inhibited inflammatory response at least partially through modulating macrophages polarization thereby exerting protective effects. Whereas, on the other hand, YX-2102 significantly upregulated CB2R expression in alveolar epithelial cells in vivo. Its pretreatment inhibited lung alveolar epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in vitro and PF model induced by transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-β1) via a CB2 receptor-dependent pathway. Further studies suggested that the Nrf2-Smad7 pathway might be involved in. CONCLUSION These findings suggest that CB2R is a potential target for PF treatment and YX-2102 is a promising CB2R agonist with new chemical space.

Abstract
The study of the Cabibbo-favored semileptonic decay Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e} is reported using a 4.5 fb^{-1} data sample of e^{+}e^{-} annihilations collected at center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.600 GeV to 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The branching fraction of the decay is measured to be B(Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e})=(3.56±0.11_{stat}±0.07_{syst})%, which is the most precise measurement to date. Furthermore, we perform an investigation of the internal dynamics in Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e}. We provide the first direct comparisons of the differential decay rate and form factors with those predicted from lattice quantum chromodynamics (LQCD) calculations. Combining the measured branching fraction with a q^{2}-integrated rate predicted by LQCD, we determine |V_{cs}|=0.936±0.017_{B}±0.024_{LQCD}±0.007_{τ_{Λ_{c}}}.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Given that HCC is an extraordinarily heterogeneous malignant disease, finding an effective therapeutic strategy for treating it has been difficult. Because of the importance of angiogenesis in tumorigenesis, targeting the more homogenous HCC endothelial cells may be a better therapeutic strategy. In a unpublished manuscript, we found that the expression levels of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) and matrix metalloproteinase 2/9 (MMP2/9) were reduced in human HCC tissues that overexpressed DNA damage repair gene general transcription factor II subunit H2 (GTF2H2). This suggested that GTF2H2 may have an inhibitory effect on angiogenesis. Therefore, we hypothesized that GTF2H2 acts as an anti-angiogenesis gene. However, our results showed that GTF2H2 overexpression had no effect on endothelial cell viability, migration, or permeability. To our surprise, treating human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) with the culture medium of Huh 7 cells overexpressing GTF2H2 could inhibit their viability, migration, and permeability. We then isolated the culture medium into exosomes and other components from the culture medium. Only GTF2H2-enriched exosomes could inhibit the viability, migration, tube formation, and permeability of HUVECs. Our results suggest that overexpressing GTF2H2 had no effect on HUVECs, while GTF2H2 enriched exosomes from Huh7 cells could inhibit HUVEC phenotypes such as proliferation and migration. Therefore, GTF2H2-enriched exosomes can possibly be utilized as a novel drug for treating HCC and also serve as a potential molecular target for inhibiting tumor angiogenesis.

Abstract
In recent years, the flourishing of synthetic methodology studies has provided concise access to numerous molecules with new chemical space. These compounds form a large library with unique scaffolds, but their application in hit discovery is not systematically evaluated. In this work, we establish a synthetic methodology-based compound library (SMBL), integrated with compounds obtained from our synthetic researches, as well as their virtual derivatives in significantly larger scale. We screen the library and identify small-molecule inhibitors to interrupt the protein-protein interaction (PPI) of GIT1/β-Pix complex, an unrevealed target involved in gastric cancer metastasis. The inhibitor 14-5-18 with a spiro[bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-2,3'-indolin]-2'-one scaffold, considerably retards gastric cancer metastasis in vitro and in vivo. Since the PPI targets are considered undruggable as they are hard to target, the successful application illustrates the structural specificity of SMBL, demonstrating its potential to be utilized as compound source for more challenging targets.

Abstract
The radiative hyperon decay Λ→nγ is studied using (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII. The absolute branching fraction of the decay Λ→nγ is determined to be (0.832±0.038_{stat}±0.054_{syst})×10^{-3}, which is a factor of 2.1 lower and 5.6 standard deviations different than the previous measurement. By analyzing the joint angular distribution of the decay products, the first determination of the decay asymmetry α_{γ} is reported with a value of -0.16±0.10_{stat}±0.05_{syst}.

Abstract
Using a sample of (10.09±0.04)×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/ψ→γηη^{'} is performed. The first observation of an isoscalar state with exotic quantum numbers J^{PC}=1^{-+}, denoted as η_{1}(1855), is reported in the process J/ψ→γη_{1}(1855) with η_{1}(1855)→ηη^{'}. Its mass and width are measured to be (1855±9_{-1}^{+6}) MeV/c^{2} and (188±18_{-8}^{+3}) MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic, and its statistical significance is estimated to be larger than 19σ.

Abstract
Although nucleophilic benzylation-type reaction to introduce various aromatic systems into molecules has been widely explored, the related pyrrolylmethylation version remains to be disclosed. Reported herein is a palladium-catalysed multiple auto-tandem reaction between N-Ts propargylamines, allyl carbonates and aldimines in the presence of an acid, proceeding through sequential allylic amination, cycloisomerisation, vinylogous addition and aromatisation steps. A diversity of formal pyrrolylmethylated amine products were finally furnished efficiently. In addition, switchable regiodivergent 3-pyrrolylmethylation and 4-pyrrolylmethylation were realised by tuning catalytic conditions. Moreover, remote chirality transfer with readily available enantioenriched starting materials was well achieved with an achiral ligand, relying on diastereoselective generation of η2-Pd(0) complexes between Pd(0) and chiral 1,3-diene intermediates in the key vinylogous addition step. A few control experiments were conducted to elucidate the palladium-involved tandem reaction and regiodivergent synthesis.

Abstract
Using e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb^{-1} collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we perform the first amplitude analysis of the decay D_{s}^{+}→K_{S}^{0}K^{+}π^{0} and determine the relative branching fractions and phases for intermediate processes. We observe an a_{0}-like state with mass of 1.817 GeV in its decay to K_{S}^{0}K^{+} for the first time. In addition, we measure the ratio {B[D_{s}^{+}→K[over ¯]^{*}(892)^{0}K^{+}]/B[D_{s}^{+}→K[over ¯]^{0}K^{*}(892)^{+}]} to be 2.35_{-0.23stat}^{+0.42}±0.10_{syst}. Finally, we provide a precision measurement of the absolute branching fraction B(D_{s}^{+}→K_{S}^{0}K^{+}π^{0})=(1.46±0.06_{stat}±0.05_{syst})%.

Artemisinin derivative DHA27 enhances the antibacterial effect of aminoglycosides against Pseudomonas aeruginosa by inhibiting mRNA expression of aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes. Abstract
Bacterial resistance is becoming increasingly serious, the present study aimed to investigate the mechanism of antibacterial sensitization effect of DHA27 combined with tobramycin in tobramycin-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA). We found that DHA27 combined with aminoglycosides had an antibacterial sensitization effect on PA. Tobramycin, owing to its lower toxic and side effects, was selected to further study the molecular mechanism of drug combination. A sublethal-dose bacterial challenge/sepsis mouse model was established to study the protective effect of DHA27 plus tobramycin. Scanning electron microscopy was used to investigate whether DHA27 exerts the antibacterial sensitization effect by directly affecting bacterial morphology. The effect of DHA27 on daunorubicin accumulation in bacteria was studied, and quantitative reverse transcription PCR was used to study the effect of DHA27 plus tobramycin on 16S rRNA methyltransferase and aminoglycoside-modifying enzyme mRNA expression. Twenty clinical isolates of PA were found to be tobramycin resistant; DHA27 plus tobramycin had a significant antibacterial sensitization effect on many of these resistant strains. DHA27 plus tobramycin reduced the bacterial load in the spleen and lungs of sepsis model mice and levels of proinflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interferon-γ (IFN-γ). DHA27 plus tobramycin significantly inhibited the mRNA expression of aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes in bacteria. DHA27 combined with AGs had an antibacterial sensitization effect on PA; the molecular mechanism underlying this effect is closely related to the inhibition of the mRNA expression of aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes, especially aac(3)-II.

Abstract
Aflatoxins (AFs) contaminate agricultural products in a wide range of ways during their harvesting, storage and transport. Therefore, the detection of AFs has certain practical significance. Herein, a dispersive micro solid phase extraction (D-µSPE) technology was constructed based on 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([HMIM][PF6]) fabricated ZnO nanoflowers for AFs extraction from food matrix before HPLC procedure. The key parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were studied. Under optimal experimental conditions, the method showed excellent linearity with high correlation coefficients (≥0.994). LOD and LOQ were 0.034 and 0.114 μg/kg for AFB1, 0.024 and 0.082 μg/kg for AFB2, 0.067 and 0.226 μg/kg for AFG1 and 0.025 and 0.084 μg/kg for AFG2. The recovery of actual samples spiked with analytes (at 5, 15 and 20 μg/kg) were from 93.8 to 105.1%. Overall, an accurate AFs analysis method was developed and could be applied to the determination of AFs in various food and agricultural products.

Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a common pathogen that is dangerous to humans' health. Herein, a novel upconversion fluorescent biosensor based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer from aptamer-labeled upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs-apt) as donor and cobalt oxyhydroxide (CoOOH) nanosheets as acceptor was designed to detect S. aureus in complex matrices. The principle of the work relies on fluorescence resonance energy transfer as UCNPs-apt can self-assemble on CoOOH nanosheet surfaces by van der Waals forces to effectively quench the fluorescence. When S. aureus was added, the aptamer was able to preferentially capture the target, resulting in the dissociation of donor and acceptor and the recovery of fluorescence. The structure and morphology of the nanostructures were assigned in detail by a series of characterizations, and the energy transfer mechanism was evaluated by time-resolved lifetime measurements. Under the optimal conditions, a linear calibration plot was obtained in a concentration range of 45-4.5 × 106 CFU/mL with a limit of detection of 15 CFU/mL. In addition, the proposed biosensor was used for S. aureus detection in real samples (e.g., pork, beef), and the detection result showed no significant difference (p > 0.05) compared with the conventional plate count approach. Hence, the fabricated biosensor holds a potential application for S. aureus in food analysis and public health.
