Abstract
Distribution pattern and relative abundance of the agricultural rodent pests of rain-fed and irrigated areas of district Swat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan were recorded from April 2011 to November 2013 using wire mesh live traps. A total of 350 rodents (269 Rattus rattus and 81 Mus musculus) were captured under 2268 trap nights (trap success: 0.15). Regression of daily captures on cumulative captures revealed an estimate of 350 rodents from all the sampled structures with an average of 21.8 rodents per crop field. House rats (R. rattus; 76.8% of captures) were numerically dominant in almost all types of agricultural fields, and were significantly different from the mice (Mus musculus; 23.1% of captures). Both species were found together in some fields. The sex ratio revealed that males outnumbered the females in both of the reported species.

Abstract
Scars are the normal outcome of wound repair and involve a co-ordinated inflammatory and fibrotic process. When a scar does not resolve, uncontrolled chronic inflammation can persist and elicits excessive scarring that leads to a range of abnormal phenotypes such as hypertrophic and keloid scars. These pathologies result in significant impairment of quality of life over a long period of time. Existing treatment options are generally unsatisfactory, and there is mounting interest in innovative cell-based therapies. Despite the interest in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), there is yet to be a human clinical trial that investigates the potential of MSCs in treating abnormal scarring. A synthesis of existing evidence of animal studies may therefore provide insight into the barriers to human application. The aim of this PRISMA systematic review was to evaluate the effectiveness of MSC transplantation in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars in in vivo models. A total of 11 case-control studies were identified that treated a total of 156 subjects with MSCs or MSC-conditioned media. Ten studies assessed hypertrophic scars, and one looked at keloid scars. All studies evaluated scars in terms of macroscopic and histological appearances and most incorporated immunohistochemistry. The included studies all found improvements in the above outcomes with MSC or MSC-conditioned media without complications. The studies reviewed support a role for MSC therapy in treating scars that needs further exploration. The transferability of these findings to humans is limited by factors such as the reliability and validity of the disease model, the need to identify the optimal MSC cell source, and the outcome measures employed.

Abstract
Abstract
If a radiation source is lost, it will do harm to human being, especially for the searching person. In order to find the lost radiation source easily, a detector system, including 3 detectors, was designed to search the lost c-ray radiation source autonomously in any environment. First, based on GEANT4 simulation, the radiation dose rates in 3 Geiger Muller (GM) counters were simulated at the different source-detector distances, distances between detectors and angles. Various analyses were performed by experimentally and verified the simulated detector designed system. A Mono-energetic 137Cs c-ray source with energy 662 keV and activity of 1.11 GBq was used for the observation. The simulated results were compared with the experimental dose rate values and obtained good agreements for various cases. Only based on the dose rates in three detectors, the radiation source was searched in a different location at a specific source activity and angle. The corresponding angles of deviation and detection limit were calculated for sensitivity and ability of detector designed system. The proposed detector designed system can be used to navigate radiation sources in the low level and high radiation environments.

Abstract
During the present study thirteen Megaderma lyra bats were observed roosting in dark, domed shaped room of Rohtas Fort, district Jhelum. Out of these, six specimens were captured from the roosting site, using hand net. All captured specimens were male. These bats were identified through their unique facial features, an erect and elongated nose-leaf, large oval ears that joined above the forehead and no tail. Mean head and body length of captured specimens was 80 mm, forearm length was 67 mm while average lengths of 3rd, 4th and 5th metacarpals were 51.73 mm, 55.17 mm and 60.42 mm, respectively. Mean skull length was 29.84 mm, breadth of braincase was 12.77 mm. Average Penis length of two specimens was 6.6 mm and total bacular length was 3.08 mm respectively. This is the first record of Megaderma lyra from district Jhelum.

Abstract
The present study was conducted to explore morphometric variations of Pteropus medius (the Indian flying fox) and the roosting trees in Lower Dir, Pakistan. The bats were captured from Morus alba, Morus nigra, Brousonetia papyrifera, Pinus raxburghii, Hevea brasiliensis, Platanus orientalis, Populous nigra, Melia azedarach, Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Grevillea robusta through sling shot and mess net methods. A total of 12 bats were studied for the differential morphological features based on age and sex. Male bats were recorded higher in weight than females. The variations were found in body mass (821.1±34.65gm), circumference of body with wings (25.43±0.39cm), wingspan (112.58±1.90cm), Body length (20.73±0.68cm), Snout length (3.42±0.04cm), Eye length (1.45±0.033cm), Length of ear (3.56±0.05cm), Width of ear (2.46±0.04cm), Length b/w ear (5.51±0.11cm), Circumference of neck (12.23±0.24cm), Circumference of body without wings (18.68±0.31cm), Arm wing length (23.2±1.03cm), Length of thumb (5.43±0.1cm), Length of nail (1.89±0.05cm), Hand wing length (29.1±0.51cm), Maximum width of wing (21.03±0.68cm), Length b/w tip of wing to 5th digit (29.39±0.30cm), Length b/w 5th digit to foot (22.97±1.09cm), Length b/w feet (18.31±0.74cm) and Length of foot claw (4.23±0.05cm). This study was designed for analysis of external morphological variations for P. medius (the Indian flying fox) that may help in identification of these bats and their roosting sites.

Abstract
Using advanced diffusion MRI, we aimed to assess the microstructural properties of normal-appearing white matter (NAWM) preceding conversion to white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) using 3-tissue diffusion signal compositions in ischemic stroke. Data were obtained from the Cognition and Neocortical Volume After Stroke (CANVAS) study. Diffusion-weighted MR and high-resolution structural brain images were acquired 3- (baseline) and 12-months (follow-up) post-stroke. WMHs were automatically segmented and longitudinal assessment at 12-months was used to retrospectively delineate NAWM voxels at baseline converting to WMHs. NAWM voxels converting to WMHs were further dichotomized into either: "growing" WMHs if NAWM adhered to existing WMH voxels, or "isolated de-novo" WMHs if NAWM was unconnected to WMH voxels identified at baseline. Microstructural properties were assessed using 3-tissue diffusion signal compositions consisting of white matter-like (WM-like: TW), gray matter-like (GM-like: TG), and cerebrospinal fluid-like (CSF-like: TC) signal fractions. Our findings showed that NAWM converting to WMHs already exhibited similar changes in tissue compositions at baseline to WMHs with lower TW and increased TC (fluid-like, i.e. free-water) and TG compared to persistent NAWM. We also found that microstructural properties of persistent NAWM were related to overall WMH burden with greater free-water content in patients with high WMH load. These findings suggest that NAWM preceding conversion to WMHs are accompanied by greater fluid-like properties indicating increased tissue water content. Increased GM-like properties may indicate a more isotropic microstructure of tissue reflecting a degree of hindered diffusion in NAWM regions vulnerable to WMH development. These results support the usefulness of microstructural compositions as a sensitive marker of NAWM vulnerability to WMH pathogenesis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Healthcare services are facing economic constraints globally with an increasingly elderly population, and greater burdens of osteoarthritis. Because of the chronic nature of osteoarthritis and the costs associated with surgery, arthroplasty is seen as potentially cost saving. There have been no systematic reviews conducted on cost effectiveness analysis (CEA) studies of total hip arthroplasty (THA) in the management of osteoarthritis. The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate CEAs conducted on THA for osteoarthritis to determine if THA is a cost-effective intervention. MATERIALS AND METHODS A systematic review was conducted using five databases to identify all clinical CEAs of THA for osteoarthritis conducted after 1 January 1997. Twenty-eight studies were identified that met the inclusion criteria. The Quality of Health Economic Analysis (QHES) checklist was employed to assess the quality of the studies. RESULTS The average QHES score was 86 indicating high quality studies. All studies reviewed concluded that THA was a cost-effective intervention. In younger patients, cementless THA and ceramic on polyethylene implants were found to be most cost effective. Hybrid THA and metal on polyethylene implants had the greatest cost utility in older patients. In patients with acetabular defects, cemented cup with impaction bone grafting was most cost effective, while dual mobility THA was most cost effective in patients with high risk of dislocation. CONCLUSION We have shown that THA is a cost-effective treatment for hip osteoarthritis. These findings should be implemented into clinical practice to improve cost utility in health services across the world.

Abstract
Background The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has the potential to significantly impact burns patients both directly through infective complications of an immunocompromised cohort, and indirectly through disruption of care pathways and resource limitations. The pandemic presents new challenges that must be overcome to maintain patient safety; in particular, the potential increased risks of surgical intervention, anaesthesia and ventilation. This study comprehensively reviews the measures implemented to adapt referral pathways and mitigate the risk posed by COVID-19 during the height of the pandemic, within a large Burns Centre. Methods A prospective cohort study was designed to assess patients treated at the Burns Centre during the UK COVID-19 pandemic peak (April–May 2020), following implementation of new safety measures. All patients were analysed for 30-day mortality. In addition, a prospective controlled cohort study was undertaken on all inpatients and a random sample of outpatients with telephone follow-up at 30 days. These patients were divided into three groups (operative inpatients, non-operative inpatients, outpatients). COVID-19 related data collected included test results, contact with proven cases, isolation status and symptoms. The implemented departmental service COVID-19 safety adaptations are described. Results Of 323 patients treated at the Burns Centre during the study period, no 30-day COVID-19 related deaths occurred (0/323). Of the 80 patients analysed in the prospective controlled cohort section of the study, 51 underwent COVID-19 testing, 3.9% (2/51) were positive. Both cases were in the operative group, however in comparison to the non-operative and outpatient groups, there was no significant increase in COVID-19 incidence in operative patients. Conclusions We found no COVID-19 related mortality during the study period. With appropriate precautions, burns patients were not exposed to an increased COVID-19 risk. Similarly, burns patients undergoing operative management were not at a significantly increased risk of contracting COVID-19 in comparison to non-operative groups.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The most common pattern seen in bilateral knee osteoarthritis involves only the medial compartment in both knees. In such cases, bilateral Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty (UKA) would be a suitable surgery, this can be done simultaneously in one surgery or in stages with a period of time between each UKA. Simultaneous bilateral UKA in appropriately selected patients have the potential advantages of a lower cost, a shorter hospital stay, and a shorter overall recovery process. Despite this, there are concerns that operating on both knees in one surgery may increase the risk of complications, revisions and mortality. METHODS A PRISMA systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted using three databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Scopus) to identify all studies which investigated either clinical or radiological outcomes in simultaneous bilateral UKA. RESULTS All sixteen studies included found that simultaneous bilateral UKA improved clinical and radiological outcomes. Eight studies compared clinical or radiological outcomes between simultaneous and staged bilateral UKA. Simultaneous bilateral UKA was found to have a significantly shorter length of operation, length of hospital stay, and a lower treatment cost (P < 0.001). Our meta-analysis found no statistically significant difference in the all-cause complication rate between simultaneous and staged bilateral UKA (P = 0.36). Only one study compared radiological outcomes between simultaneous and staged bilateral UKA which found no significant difference. CONCLUSION Our review suggests that simultaneous bilateral UKA is comparable to staged bilateral UKA in terms of clinical and radiological outcomes and has the potential to be increasingly adopted in clinical practice due to its superior cost-effectiveness.

Abstract
Toxoplasma gondii is a protozoan parasite that can infect all mammals, serving as intermediate hosts. The cause of congenital toxoplasmosis is transplacental transmission of the parasite to the foetus, resulting in wide range of manifestations from mild chorioretinitis to miscarriage. Its frequency can be reduced by early screening of pregnant women which is based mainly on tests for anti-Toxoplasma antibodies. We collected serum samples of 594 pregnant women (subjects) after taking their consent over a period of two years (2016-2018) and analyzed them for anti-Toxoplasma IgG by ELISA. The positive samples were then analyzed for IgG avidity test which could differentiate between recent and past infections. The seroprevalence was also correlated with the age of the subjects and their contact with cats. 162 subjects were found positive out of which only three showed a recent infection. After following up until delivery, one of them delivered a baby who had jaundice and was diagnosed with anti-Toxoplasma IgM at birth. The foetus of the second subject died in-utero, while the third woman delivered a normal baby after being given spiramycin when diagnosed with toxoplasmosis in the first trimester. It was found that most of the positive subjects had frequent contact with cats. Invasion of the parasite during third trimester resulted in death in-utero and jaundice. Most common cause of pregnancy wastage during our study was spontaneous abortions while pregnancy loss due to congenital anomalies was rare.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Patients with end-stage single compartment osteoarthritis benefit from the less invasive unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA). With increasing financial restraints, some healthcare services have set specific BMI cut-offs when determining patient eligibility for knee arthroplasty due to perceived obesity-related complications. The aim of this systematic review is to determine the effect obesity has on outcomes following UKA, and thus elucidate whether obesity should be a contraindication for UKA. METHODS A PRISMA systematic review was conducted using five databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane, PubMed and Web of Science) to identify all clinical studies that examined the effect of obesity on outcomes following UKA. Quantitative meta-analysis was carried out using RevMan 5.3 software. Quality assessment was carried out using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) checklist. RESULTS Thirty studies, including a total of 80 798 patients were analysed. The mean follow- up duration was 5.42 years. Subgroup meta-analyses showed no statistically significant difference following UKA between patients cohorts with and without obesity in overall complication rates (95% CI, P = 0.52), infection rates (95% CI, P = 0.81), and revision surgeries (95% CI, P = 0.06). When further analysing complications, no differences were identified in minor (95% CI, P = 0.23) and major complications (95% CI, P = 0.68), or venous thromboembolism rates (95% CI, P = 0.06). When further analysing revision surgeries, no differences were identified for revisions specifically for infection (95% CI, P = 0.71) or aseptic loosening (95% CI, P = 0.75). CONCLUSIONS This meta-analysis shows that obesity does not result in poorer post-operative outcomes following UKA and should not be considered a contraindication for UKA. Future studies, including long-term follow-up RCTs and registry-level analyses, should examine factors associated with obesity and consider stratifying obesity to better delineate any potential differences in outcomes.

Abstract
Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic has placed a significant strain on healthcare resources and utilisation globally. The appearance of the disease in the Republic of Ireland resulted in a broad postponement of scheduled and routine surgical care. The influence of the novel coronavirus, and the associated imposition of public health measures such as school closures and social distancing, on the burden of emergency surgical disease is less clear. Aim The aim of this study was to examine the impact of COVID-19 on the number of patients presenting to our institution with emergent surgical illnesses or requiring emergency general surgical procedures. Methods All patients attending our service between March 1st 2020 and April 30th 2020 were identified retrospectively by examining electronic handover and electronic discharge summaries, and data were collected relating to demographics, presenting illness, critical care utilisation, length of stay, operative or endoscopic procedure performed, and in-hospital mortality. Similar data were collected March 1st to April 30th 2019, 2018, and 2017 respectively to allow direct comparison. Results 151 patients were admitted during the study period, compared to a total of 788 during the proceeding three years (mean 2.49 admissions per night versus 4.35 per night, 42.8% reduction, p < 0.001). Median age of admitted patients was 51.8 years, compared to 50.3 years formerly (p = 0.35). 53 emergency procedures were performed, compared to a median of 70 over the same period in the previous years (mean 0.87 per day versus 1.16 per day, 25.4% reduction, p = 0.05). Conclusion A significant overall reduction in the number of patients being admitted to our unit and requiring emergency surgical procedures during March and April 2020 was seen, in line with patterns reported internationally.

Abstract
Illumina amplicon-based sequencing was coupled with ethidium monoazide bromide (EMA) pre-treatment to monitor the total viable bacterial community and subsequently identify and prioritise the target organisms for the health risk assessment of the untreated rainwater and rainwater treated using large-volume batch solar reactor prototypes installed in an informal settlement and rural farming community. Taxonomic assignments indicated that Legionella and Pseudomonas were the most frequently detected genera containing opportunistic bacterial pathogens in the untreated and treated rainwater at both sites. Additionally, Mycobacterium, Clostridium sensu stricto and Escherichia/Shigella displayed high (≥80%) detection frequencies in the untreated and/or treated rainwater samples at one or both sites. Numerous exposure scenarios (e.g. drinking, cleaning) were subsequently investigated and the health risk of using untreated and solar reactor treated rainwater in developing countries was quantified based on the presence of L. pneumophila, P. aeruginosa and E. coli. The solar reactor prototypes were able to reduce the health risk associated with E. coli and P. aeruginosa to below the 1 × 10-4 annual benchmark limit for all the non-potable uses of rainwater within the target communities (exception of showering for E. coli). However, the risk associated with intentional drinking of untreated or treated rainwater exceeded the benchmark limit (E. coli and P. aeruginosa). Additionally, while the solar reactor treatment reduced the risk associated with garden hosing and showering based on the presence of L. pneumophila, the risk estimates for both activities still exceeded the annual benchmark limit. The large-volume batch solar reactor prototypes were thus able to reduce the risk posed by the target bacteria for non-potable activities rainwater is commonly used for in water scarce regions of sub-Saharan Africa. This study highlights the need to assess water treatment systems in field trials using QMRA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this systematic review is to determine if robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty (RATKA) results in improved clinical and radiological outcomes, and to elucidate the breadth and depth of studies conducted on this topic. METHODS A Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses systematic review was conducted using 4 databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane, and Web of Science) to identify all clinical studies that investigate clinical or radiological outcomes using RATKA. The Critical Appraisal Skills Program checklist for cohort studies was employed for critical appraisal and evaluation of all 22 studies that met the inclusion criteria. RESULTS All studies reviewed determined that knee arthroplasty improved clinical outcomes. Twelve studies found statistically better clinical outcomes with RATKA compared with conventional TKA, whereas 9 studies found no difference. One study did not assess clinical outcomes. When assessing radiological outcomes, 14 studies reported that RATKA resulted in more consistent and accurate postoperative mechanical alignment, whereas 2 studies reported no difference. Six studies did not assess radiological outcomes. CONCLUSION Although knee arthroplasty is one of the most commonly performed orthopedic operations, the level of patient satisfaction varies. The meta-analyses conducted in our systematic review shows that RATKA results in greater improvements in postoperative Hospital for Special Surgery score and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities scores compared to conventional TKA. Furthermore, it shows that RATKA results in more accurate postoperative alignment of prostheses. These together can explain the improved postoperative outcomes. More randomized controlled trials must be conducted before this technique is integrated into routine clinical practice.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene ɛ4 allele is a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease and cardiovascular disease. However, its relationship with cognition and brain volume after stroke is not clear. OBJECTIVE We compared cognition and medial temporal lobe volumes in APOEɛ4 carriers and non-carriers in the first year after ischemic stroke. METHODS We sampled 20 APOEɛ4 carriers and 20 non-carriers from a larger cohort of 135 ischemic stroke participants in the longitudinal CANVAS study. Participants were matched on a range of demographic and stroke characteristics. We used linear mixed-effect models to compare cognitive domain z-scores (attention, processing speed, executive function, verbal and visual memory, language, visuospatial function) and regional medial temporal lobe volumes (hippocampal, entorhinal cortex) between groups at each time-point (3, 12-months post-stroke), and within groups across time-points. APOE gene single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; rs7412, rs429358) were genotyped on venous blood. RESULTS APOEɛ4 carriers and non-carriers did not differ on any demographic, clinical, or stroke variable. Carriers performed worse than non-carriers in verbal memory at 3 months post-stroke (p = 0.046), but were better in executive function at 12 months (p = 0.035). Carriers demonstrated a significant improvement in verbal memory (p = 0.012) and executive function (p = 0.015) between time-points. Non-carriers demonstrated a significant improvement in visual memory (p = 0.0005). Carriers had smaller bilateral entorhinal cortex volumes (p < 0.05), and larger right sided and contralesional hippocampal volumes, at both time-points (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION APOE ɛ4 is associated with delayed recovery of verbal memory function and reduced entorhinal cortex volumes in the first year after ischemic stroke.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Traditional quantitative analysis of cartilage with MRI averages measurements (eg, thickness) across regions-of-interest (ROIs) which may reduce responsiveness. PURPOSE To validate and describe clinical application of a semiautomated surface-based method for analyzing cartilage relaxation times ("composition") and morphology on MRI, 3D cartilage surface mapping (3D-CaSM). STUDY TYPE Validation study in cadaveric knees and prospective observational (cohort) study in human participants. POPULATION Four cadaveric knees and 14 participants aged 40-60 with mild-moderate knee osteoarthritis (OA) and 6 age-matched healthy volunteers, imaged at baseline, 1, and 6 months. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3D spoiled gradient echo, T1 rho/T2 magnetization-prepared 3D fast spin echo for mapping of T1 rho/T2 relaxation times and delayed gadolinium enhanced MRI of cartilage (dGEMRIC) using variable flip angle T1 relaxation time mapping at 3T. ASSESSMENT 3D-CaSM was validated against high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography (HRpQCT) in cadaveric knees, with comparison to expert manual segmentation. The clinical study assessed test-retest repeatability and sensitivity to change over 6 months for cartilage thickness and relaxation times. STATISTICAL TESTS Bland-Altman analysis was performed for the validation study and evaluation of test-retest repeatability. Six-month changes were assessed via calculation of the percentage of each cartilage surface affected by areas of significant change (%SC), defined using thresholds based on area and smallest detectable difference (SDD). RESULTS Bias and precision (0.06 ± 0.25 mm) of 3D-CaSM against reference HRpQCT data were comparable to expert manual segmentation (-0.13 ± 0.26 mm). 3D-CaSM demonstrated significant (>SDD) 6-month changes in cartilage thickness and relaxation times in both OA participants and healthy controls. The parameter demonstrating the greatest 6-month change was T2 relaxation time (OA median %SC [IQR] = 8.8% [5.5 to 12.6]). DATA CONCLUSION This study demonstrates the construct validity and potential clinical utility of 3D-CaSM, which may offer advantages to conventional ROI-based methods. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 2. Abstract
Present study was conducted to study seasonal abundance and distribution of dragonflies in upper Siran valley district Mansehra Pakistan. To collect data, eleven localities were visited for three consecutive years (2016-2018). Results come up with a sum of 300 specimens identified under three families, eight genera and twenty species. Highest seasonal abundance recorded during summer and spring were 80.67% and 13.33% respectively while minimum 6.00% was recorded during early autumn. Dominant species observed were, Orthetrum chrysis (14.00%), followed by O. gluacum (12.00%), Palpoleura sexmaculata sexmaculata (11.33%) and O. cancellatum cancellatum (8.00%). However the highest population of dragonflies was found in Munda Gucha with a percentage of 11.33 followed by Jabbar (11.00%) and Sachan (9.67%). The lowest populations were recorded in Suham (6.00%), Dadar (7.67%) and Jabori (7.67%). The surveyed valley showed diverse Anisopterous fauna and thus further extensive surveys are recommended that can come up with more important species from the area.

Abstract
Fish provides main source of high quality protein to more than one billion people in the world. Fish parasites directly affect the productivity of fish and indirectly on human health. This research was aimed to assess the helminth parasites in Schizothorax plagiostomus (the snow trout) from river Panjkora, KP, Pakistan. A total of 88 fish samples (n= 88) were collected from the upper, middle and lower regions of the river through cast nets, hand nets and hooks. All the collected fish samples were examined in the Parasitology Laboratory, Department of Zoology, University of Malakand for helminth parasites during July 2018 to February 2019.Among these fishes nematodes, trematodes, cestodes and acanthocephalan were isolated and identified. Overall prevalence of the fish parasites was 60.22% (53/88). The intensity of the parasite was observed from 1.7% to 4.61%. Highest prevalence was reported in summer season 86.36% while lowest in the winter season 36.36%. This study shows that summer season affects the fish business and result in poor quality fish meat with risk of zoonotic diseases. Adults were highly infected 82.25% while no infection was found in juvenile specimens. Female fish samples had higher prevalence 68.22% than males 48.22%. Fishes of the lower reaches had highest prevalence 60.22% than the upper reaches 40.0%. Fish samples with maximum length and weight were highly 76.92% infected than small sized fish with low body weight. Present study addresses that Rhabdochona schizothoracis in the intestine and Diplozoon paradoxum in gills of snow trout fish has a long term relationship and call as a natural infection in cyprinids and it is zoonotic threat to human.

Abstract
Fish is consumed as a rich and cheaper source of white meat and proteins all over the world. Fish farming is the leading source of income generation throughout the world. The present research study was conducted with aims to investigate the ecto and endo parasitic fauna of S. plagiostomus (snow trout) in River Swat. A total of 96 fish samples were collected on monthly basis from July-2018 to February-2019, from upper, middle and lower reaches. Fish samples were collected with the help of cast net, hand net and fishing rods. Local fishermen and experts help were also sought out for fish collection. 61 out of 96 fishes were found infected by helminth parasites. The total prevalence and intensity of 63.54% and 2.90 was observed respectively during data analysis. Highest monthly prevalence of 83.33% was recorded during July and August, while lowest prevalence of 33.33% was noted during February. Five species of helminths parasites were detected from S. plagiostomus, of which two were trematodes (Rhabdochona shizothoracis and Rhabdochona species), one species of Monogenia (Diplozoon paraddoxum), one species of Cestodes (Nippotaenia species), and one species of Acanthocephalan (Neoechynorhynchus devdevi). Highest parasite wise prevalence, intensity and relative density of 21.87%, 4.09 and 0.895 was noted for R. schizothoracis while the lowest prevalence, intensity and relative density of 4.16%, 1.25 and 0.052 was noted for N. devdevi. Highest infection of 76.08% was observed in adults host while lowest, 40% infestation rate was observed in young fish samples. 73.68% prevalence was observed in female hosts while only 56.90% prevalence was observed in male individuals. Higher infection (83.33%) was noticed during summer season, while lowest infection (44.44%) was observed during winter season. Similarly 71.79% fishes were found infected that were collected from lower reaches of the River Swat than the fish samples collected from upper reaches (52%).

Abstract
Damage to joints through injury or disease can result in cartilage loss, which if left untreated can lead to inflammation and ultimately osteoarthritis. There is currently no cure for osteoarthritis and management focusses on symptom control. End-stage osteoarthritis can be debilitating and ultimately requires joint replacement in order to maintain function. Therefore, there is growing interest in innovative therapies for cartilage repair. In this systematic literature review, we sought to explore the in vivo evidence for the use of human Mesenchymal Stem Cell-derived Extracellular Vesicles (MSC-EVs) for treating cartilage damage. We conducted a systematic literature review in accordance with the PRISMA protocol on the evidence for the treatment of cartilage damage using human MSC-EVs. Studies examining in vivo models of cartilage damage were included. A risk of bias analysis of the studies was conducted using the SYRCLE tool. Ten case-control studies were identified in our review, including a total of 159 murine subjects. MSC-EVs were harvested from a variety of human tissues. Five studies induced osteoarthritis, including cartilage loss through surgical joint destabilization, two studies directly created osteochondral lesions and three studies used collagenase to cause cartilage loss. All studies in this review reported reduced cartilage loss following treatment with MSC-EVs, and without significant complications. We conclude that transplantation of MSC-derived EVs into damaged cartilage can effectively reduce cartilage loss in murine models of cartilage injury. Additional randomized studies in animal models that recapitulates human osteoarthritis will be necessary in order to establish findings that inform clinical safety in humans.

Abstract
Poor storage conditions provide favorable environment to stored grain pests for their growth. The bio-pesticides are the best alternatives to synthetic pesticides. Present study was conducted to compare toxicity of Rubus fruticosus and Valeriana jatamansi against granary weevil, Sitophilus granarius and subsequent changes in enzyme activity responsible for grain damage. In current research 5 g of R. fruticosus fruit and V. jatamansi rhizome powders were tested separately against S. granarius, in 50 g wheat whole grains for seven days in comparison with the control. The enzymatic activity of malate dehydrogenase and α-amylase was observed in the cellular extracts of S. granarius. The insects were crushed and homogenized in phosphate-buffer solution and centrifuged at 10000 rpm for 5 minutes. For the enzymatic measurement supernatant was tested; the spectrophotometer was adjusted at 340 nm. The reagents were mixed and incubated at 25 °C for five minutes. The cuvettes were placed in the experimental and reference sites of spectrophotometer and recorded the change in absorbance for 3-4 minutes. There was 5.60% and 14.92% reduction in the activity of malate dehydrogenase in R. fruticosus and V. jatamansi, treated insects, respectively. The alpha amylase enzyme activity was 6.82% reduced and 63.63% increase in R. fruticosus and V. jatamansi, treated insects, respectively. Present study addresses that both plant powders are effective against granary weevil by altering enzyme activities so both the plant powders can be used as bio-pesticides against the stored grains pests.

Introduction
Long sleep duration in aging populations has recently been proposed as a key modifiable risk factor and sequela of stroke. It is unclear whether the pathogenesis of post-stroke sleep-wake dysfunction is due to focal infarction to regional sleep-wake hubs in the brain, or to accelerated whole-brain neurodegeneration. We utilise a novel technique known as whole-brain fixel-based analyses (FBA) to characterize the first fibre-specific white-matter markers of long sleep duration after stroke.
Methods
We included 98 radiologically-confirmed ischemic stroke participants (67 male; mean age = 68) and 40 age-matched controls with no history of neurodegenerative disease imaged 3-months post-stroke. Sleep-wake was measured for one week using BodyMedia’s SenseWear armband. Diffusion-weighted MRI (DWI) were acquired using echoplanar imaging and preprocessed using MRtrix3. FBA were employed to identify tracts with altered white-matter fibre-density and fibre-bundle cross-section (FDC) in the long sleep duration (>8 hr, n=20) and normal sleep duration groups (between >6 hr and <8 hr, n=59) compared to controls. Statistical comparisons of FDC between groups were performed at each FDC fixel by a general linear model controlling for age, sex, and intracranial volume.
Results
Stroke participants with long sleep duration exhibited significant FDC reductions of up to 40% within the cortico-ponto-cerebellar tract when compared to healthy controls (family-wise-error-corrected p=<0.05). Bilateral pontine degeneration was observed at the decussation of the superior cerebellar peduncles. Stroke participants with normal sleep duration exhibited diffuse whole-brain degeneration most apparent along the corpus collosum and cingulum; however, the distribution was less extensive relative to long sleepers (i.e., no cortico-cerebellar projections) and percentage effect reductions did not exceed 20%.
Conclusion
Long sleep duration after stroke is associated with cortico-ponto-cerebellar degeneration when compared to controls or stroke-participants with normal sleep duration. Excessively long sleep may contribute to post-stroke neurodegeneration beyond the effects of direct infarction and may be a modifiable pharmacological target for abating brain volume loss after stroke.
