Abstract
We will explain a new business model for university spinoffs involving the development of two types of products. The first are highly innovative, such as new drugs, while the second are typically less difficult to develop, such as functional foods. It is our belief that development of the second type of product can help solve the financial problems and stabilize management of Academic Start-ups. The key to development of several different types of products is accumulation of knowledge consisting not only of technical knowhow, e.g. tips for use in injection, but also ideas obtained by researchers with the potential for future applications. Examination of the features of venture enterprises which have arisen from universities suggests that inventors, who are also professors, should participate in such start-ups.

Abstract
e15140 Background: The most important clinical point for the colorectal cancer patients after surgery is to find out local recurrence and distant metastasis to liver or lungs in early state. Recently, DWIBS (diffusion weighted whole body imaging with background body signal suppression) scan, one of the diffusion weighted MRI imaging methods, was developed, and it has been become used for diagnosis of lung cancer and bladder cancer instead of PET scan. In this report, we examined whether it was more useful method for the diagnosis of recurrence or distant metastasis of the colorectal cancer after surgery than PET/CT scan or not. Methods: All the 12 primary colorectal carcinomas were resected at the surgical division, Kumamoto Central Hospital, Fukuoka Saisekai Ohmuta Hospital and Kurume University Medical Center from 2000 to 2008. (Table 1) After surgery, 14 recurrent regions (seven liver metastasis, two lung metastasis and five local recurrence) were diagnosed by CT and MRI scans. Then all the cases were performed by DWIBS scan. And also the seven out of 12 cases (three liver metastasis, two lung metastasis and four local recurrence) were performed by PET scan. Conditions set before DWIBS scan were six hours of fasting with no restriction on drinking water and normal oral administration of regularly used drugs. No bowel preparation was carried out in any of the patients. Informed consent was obtained from each patient before DWIBS scan. Results: All the 14 metastatic and recurrent regions (seven liver metastasis, two lung metastasis and five local recurrence ) of 12 recurrent patients were performed by DWIBS, MRI and CT scans. Within the seven out of 12 recurrent patients (three liver metastasis, two lung metastasis and five local recurrence), performed by PET scan, all the liver and lung metastatic regions were detected, on the other hand, three out of four local recurrent regions were diagnosed but the other one was not diagnosed by PET scan. Conclusions: DWIBS is not only useful diagnostic method for local recurrence of colorectal cancer after surgery, but also less invasive method than PET scan. Abstract
Liposome-encapsulated hemoglobin (LEH) was proven to be protective in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. The present study evaluated LEH in a rat model of permanent middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion to clarify its effect during ischemia and reperfusion. Five minutes after thread occlusion of the MCA, rats were infused with 10 mL/kg of LEH (LEH, n = 13), and compared with normal controls (n = 11). Additional animals received the same MCA occlusion with no treatment (CT, n = 11), saline (saline, n = 10), empty liposome solution (EL, n = 13), or washed red blood cells (RBC, n = 7). Severity of brain edema was determined 24 h later by signal strength in T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of the cortex, striatum, hippocampus, and pyriform lobe. The results showed that brain edema/infarction observed in any vehicle-infused control was significantly more severe than in LEH-treated rats. There was a tendency toward aggravated edema in rats receiving ELs. LEH infusion at a dose of 10 mL/kg significantly reduced edema formation as compared to other treatments in a wide area of the brain 24 h after permanent occlusion of the MCA. Low oncotic pressure of EL and LEH solution (vehicle solution) appeared to cause nonsignificant aggravation of edema and reduced protective effects of LEH.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Tobacco smoking is a risk factor for periodontitis and osteoporosis. Nicotine is a major component of tobacco, and has been reported to inhibit proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts. Bone sialoprotein (BSP) is a mineralized tissue-specific protein expressed by differentiated osteoblasts that appears to function in the initial mineralization of bone. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of nicotine on bone metabolism. MATERIAL AND METHODS We used rat osteobast-like UMR106 and ROS 17/2.8 cells and rat stromal bone marrow RBMC-D8 cells. To determine the molecular basis of the transcriptional regulation of the BSP gene by nicotine, we conducted Northern hybridization, transient transfection analyses with chimeric constructs of the BSP gene promoter linked to a luciferase reporter gene and gel mobility shift assays. RESULTS Nicotine (250 microg/mL) decreased the BSP mRNA levels at 12 and 24 h in UMR106 and ROS 17/2.8 cells. From transient transfection assays using various sized BSP promoter-luciferase constructs, nicotine decreased the luciferase activities of the construct, including the promoter sequence nucleotides -116 to +60, in UMR106 and RBMC-D8 cells. Nicotine decreased the nuclear protein binding to the cAMP response element (CRE), fibroblast growth factor 2 response element (FRE) and homeodomain protein-binding site (HOX) at 12 and 24 h. CONCLUSION This study indicates that nicotine suppresses BSP transcription mediated through CRE, FRE and HOX elements in the proximal promoter of the rat BSP gene.

Abstract
Percutaneous cardiopulmonary support (PCPS) has been applied for cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA). We have developed a novel method of cardiopulmonary resuscitation using PCPS combined with liposome-encapsulated hemoglobin (TRM645) to improve oxygen delivery to vital organs. Ventricular fibrillation was electrically induced to an adult goat for 10 min. Next, PCPS (30 ml/kg/min, V/Q: 1) was performed for 20 min. Then, external defibrillation was attempted and observed for 120 min. The TRM group (n5) was filled with 300 mL of TRM645 for the PCPS circuit. The control group (n5) was filled with the same volume of saline. The delivery of oxygen (DO2) and oxygen consumption (VO2) decreased markedly by PCPS after CPA, compared to the preoperative values. DO2 was kept at a constant level during PCPS in both groups, but VO2 slowly decreased at 5, 10, and 15 min of PCPS in the control groups, demonstrating that systemic oxygen metabolism decreased with time. In contrast, the decreases in VO2 were small in the TRM group at 5, 10, and 15 min of PCPS, demonstrating that TRM645 continuously maintained systemic oxygen consumption even at a low flow rate. AST and LDH in the TRM group were lower than the control. There were significant differences at 120 min after the restoration of spontaneous circulation (p<0.05).

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Bone sialoprotein is a mineralized tissue-specific noncollagenous protein that is glycosylated, phosphorylated and sulfated. The temporo-spatial deposition of bone sialoprotein into the extracellular matrix of bone, and the ability of bone sialoprotein to nucleate hydroxyapatite crystal formation, indicates a potential role for bone sialoprotein in the initial mineralization of bone, dentin and cementum. Bone sialoprotein is also expressed in breast, lung, thyroid and prostate cancers. MATERIAL AND METHODS We used osteoblast-like cells (rat osteosarcoma cell lines ROS17/2.8 and UMR106, rat stromal bone marrow RBMC-D8 cells and human osteosarcoma Saos2 cells), and breast and prostate cancer cells to investigate the transcriptional regulation of bone sialoprotein. To determine the molecular basis of the transcriptional regulation of the bone sialoprotein gene, we conducted northern hybridization, transient transfection analyses with chimeric constructs of the bone sialoprotein gene promoter linked to a luciferase reporter gene and gel mobility shift assays. RESULTS Bone sialoprotein transcription is regulated by hormones, growth factors and cytokines through tyrosine kinase, mitogen-activated protein kinase and cAMP-dependent pathways. Microcalcifications are often associated with human mammary lesions, particularly with breast carcinomas. Expression of bone sialoprotein by cancer cells could play a major role in the mineral deposition and in preferred bone homing of breast cancer cells. CONCLUSION Bone sialoprotein protects cells from complement-mediated cellular lysis, activates matrix metalloproteinase 2 and has an angiogenic capacity. Therefore, regulation of the bone sialoprotein gene is potentially important in the differentiation of osteoblasts, bone matrix mineralization and tumor metastasis. This review highlights the function and transcriptional regulation of bone sialoprotein.

Abstract
This study was designed to evaluate the antitumor efficacy and feasibility of postoperative adjuvant metronomic chemotherapy using weekly low-dosage CPT-11 and UFT in colorectal cancer at high risk to recurrence. A total of 49 patients (24 stage IIIb and 25 distant metastasis) who underwent a R0 operation were enrolled in this prospective study. Forty mg/m2 of CPT-11 were administered on day 1, day 8, and on day 15 in 28-day cycles. A dosage of 335 mg/m2/day of UFT was given perorally on daily schedule. Cycles were repeated for 6 months, and were followed by UFT alone for further 6 months. One or more adverse effects were seen in 43 of the 49 patients. However, most of these effects were mild at grade 1 or 2: with only nausea in 3 patients, vomiting in 2, leucopenia in 2 and neutropenia in 2 at grade 3. The overall survival rates were favorable both in the stage IIIb group (5-year: 73%) and in the distant metastases group (5-year: 62%). Postoperative adjuvant metronomic chemotherapy using weekly low-dosage CPT-11 and UFT might be safe and feasible and prolong survival time in colorectal cancer at high risk to recurrence.

Abstract
PURPOSE Under myocardial reperfusion conditions, hemoglobin (Hb)-based artificial blood showed effectiveness for post-ischemic dysfunction. However, there are no studies about the effects of this product on reperfusion arrhythmias (ventricular fibrillation, VF) associated with norepinephrine (NE) release. This study was to evaluate the effects of the timing of the administration of pegylated liposomal Hb (LHb, P(50)=40-45 mmHg, 1 mg/mL) on NE release and VF. MATERIALS AND METHODS Isolated guinea pig hearts (n=6 in each group) were randomly divided into four groups in Krebs-Henseleit solution being supplemented or not with LHb as follows: pre-ischemia (PRE), reperfusion (REP), or PRE+REP groups. The hearts were perfused for 30 min (preischemic period) and then subjected to 30 min of global ischemia, followed by 30 min of reperfusion with a normothermic Langendorff apparatus at 30 mm Hg aortic pressure in a constant pressure model. RESULTS No differences were documented among the four groups in heart rate, left ventricular-developed pressure, or coronary flow rate. However, the REP group significantly decreased the duration of VF and NE release, but it did not inhibit the incidence of VF. CONCLUSION These results suggest that the administration of LHb, especially with the timing of reperfusion, might prevent reperfusion arrhythmias linked to the inhibition of NE release.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Liposome-encapsulated hemoglobin (LEH; TRM-645) is a novel oxygen (O(2)) carrier with a lower O(2) affinity (P(50)O(2)=40 mm Hg) than red blood cells. In contrast to cell-free hemoglobin, encapsulation prevents hemoglobin extravasation, whereas its subcellular size (230 nm) may improve O(2) delivery and limit the severity of cerebral infarction. METHODS The extent of cerebral infarction was determined 24 hours after photochemically induced thrombosis of the middle cerebral artery from the integrated area of infarction detected by triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining in rats receiving no treatment, 10 mL/kg of LEH, homologous blood, empty liposomes, or saline. To develop a dose-response relationship, LEH dose was reduced from 10 mL/kg to 2 mL/kg, 0.4 mL/kg, and 0.08 mL/kg. RESULTS Infarction extent was significantly suppressed in rats receiving LEH as compared with animals receiving no infusion, saline, empty liposome, or transfusion in the cortex but not in the basal ganglia, where all had similar degrees of damage. The dose-response relationship revealed that as little as 2 mL/kg of LEH was protective, whereas the total blood O(2) content, hemoglobin level, and transfusion and/or infusion of empty liposomes or saline were not effective. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that LEH significantly reduces the area of infarction in the cortex but not in basal ganglia after photochemically induced thrombosis of the middle cerebral artery in the rat.

Abstract
In cattle, activation treatment after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is required to improve cleavage and blastocyst rates (Horiuchi et al. 2002 Theriogenology 57, 1013–1024). The reason why the exogenous activation treatment in bovine ICSI is needed to promote cleavage and blastocyst development is not clear. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of activation treatment on sperm aster formation, cleavage, and blastocyst development of in vivo- and in vitro-matured bovine oocytes following ICSI. In vivo-matured oocytes were collected using transvaginal devices under ultrasound guide at about 29 h after GnRH injection from Japanese Black cows superstimulated with a total 19 mg FSH (Antrin�; Denka Pharmaceutical Co., Kanagawa, Japan) divided into twice daily over 3 days, and treated with 750 �g cloprostenol (Estramate�; Sumitomo Chemical Co., Tokyo, Japan). In a total of 8 aspiration sessions, 131 oocytes were collected; of 116 oocytes with expanded cumulus cells, 84 (72%) had a first polar body and were used for ICSI. On the other hand, in vitro-matured bovine oocytes were prepared by culturing immature follicular oocytes derived from abattoir ovaries. Bull spermatozoa, immobilized by scoring their tails, were injected into in vivo- or in vitro-matured oocytes. At 4 h after ICSI, the oocytes were treated with or without 7% ethanol for 5 min for activation. The injected oocytes were fixed at 8 h after ICSI, and sperm aster formation was examined by using specific antibodies and immunofluorescence microscopy. Data were analyzed by the chi-square test in all experiments. The rate of sperm aster formation in in vivo-matured oocytes was similar regardless of activation treatment (71% vs. 65%), but the rate in in vitro-matured oocytes was significantly (P < 0.05) higher in the group receiving activation treatment than in the non-activation group (57% vs. 19%). Cleavage (88% vs. 88%) and blastocyst rates (59% vs. 47%) of in vivo-matured oocytes after ICSI were also similar, regardless of activation treatment, but cleavage (72% and 20%) and blastocyst rates (19% and 7%) of in vitro-matured oocytes were significantly (P < 0.05) higher in the group receiving activation treatment than in the non-activation group. Moreover, the blastocyst rate of in vivo-matured oocytes was significantly (P < 0.05) higher than the rate in in vitro-matured oocytes. These results show that activation treatment after ICSI of in vivo-matured bovine oocytes is not necessary for cleavage and blastocyst development, and suggest that the necessity of activation treatment in bovine ICSI has relevance to in vitro maturation of bovine oocytes.

Abstract
This article shows a prospective study investigating bowel function after transanal rectal resection with internal and external sphincterectomy for low rectal cancer. Eight patients underwent standard low anterior resection with colonic J-pouch anal anastomosis (LARJ), and eight patients underwent transanal rectal resection with internal and external sphincter resection (IESR). Manometry, manovolumetry, transit time study, and a questionnaire were performed before and after the operation. Six and 12 months after the operation, maximum resting pressure and squeezing pressure were significantly lower in IESR group than in LARJ group, whereas there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of constant sensation, maximum tolerable volume, or neorectal compliance. Although the functional score of the IESR group remained low at 6 months after the operation in comparison with the LARJ group, it improved at 12 months after the operation. Transanal rectal resection with internal and external sphincterectomy showed usefulness in preserving bowel function and avoiding permanent colostomy.

Abstract
Constitutively activated signal transducers and activators of transcription (STAT) are reported to cause uncontrolled transmission of growth signals. In this study, we analyzed the roles of an inhibitor of STAT, protein inhibitor of activated STAT (PIAS) 3, in the development of lung cancer. Treatment with an inhibitor of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase, LY294002, retarded the growth of human lung cancer cells and rendered them more sensitive to chemotherapeutic agents. However, the inhibition of JAK/STAT by AG490 significantly suppressed cell growth but did not increase drug sensitivity at all. Overexpression of PIAS3 not only significantly inhibited cell growth but also rendered cancer cells up to 12.0-fold more sensitive to the above drugs, which was associated with the suppression of Akt phosphorylation. Inhibition of PIAS3 with small interfering RNA, nevertheless, led cancer cells to accelerate cell proliferation, deteriorate chemosensitivity, and augment Akt phosphorylation. Although the overexpression of suppressors of cytokine signaling 3 in cancer cells also inhibited cell growth and STAT3 phosphorylation, it neither increased sensitivity to chemotherapeutic drugs nor affected the phosphorylation of Akt. These results indicate that PIAS3 may be an attractive candidate for targeting the JAK/STAT and PI3-K/Akt signaling pathways in cancer treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The combination of chemotherapy and thoracic radiation therapy (TRT) is considered as a standard treatment for locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Although the frequent interaction of anticancer agents and irradiation may produce stronger radio-sensitizing effects, the daily administration of these agents is complicated. We therefore used weekly administration of these agents, and conducted a phase I study of weekly cisplatin, vinorelbine, and concurrent TRT. The purpose of this study was to identify the maximum tolerated dose (MTD), the dose-limiting toxicity (DLT), and the recommended dose of this treatment. METHODS Patients with locally advanced NSCLC were enrolled in this study. Both cisplatin and vinorelbine were given intravenously on a weekly schedule for 6 weeks, starting on the first day of TRT, i.e., on days 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and 36. The total dose of TRT was 60 Gy. The dose of cisplatin was fixed at 20 mg/m(2) per week. The starting dose of vinorelbine was 15 mg/m(2) per week (dose level 1). RESULTS Nine patients were enrolled in this study. All three patients at dose level 1 experienced DLTs. We decreased the dose of vinorelbine to 10 mg/m(2) per week (dose level 0). Two of the six patients at dose level 0 experienced DLTs. Therefore, dose level 1 was considered as the MTD, and dose level 0 as the recommended dose. The DLTs of this treatment were esophagitis, fatigue, infection, and hyponatremia. CONCLUSION The recommended dose of cisplatin is 20 mg/m(2) per week and that of vinorelbine is 10 mg/m(2) per week with standard TRT. A phase II study of this treatment is warranted.

Abstract
A specific inhibitor of the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR), Gefitinib, displays significant antitumor effects against non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLC) that express EGFR with mutations in their tyrosine kinase domain. Although previous reports have already demonstrated that oncogenic transformation can be induced by some mutant EGFR forms, the precise differences between mutant and wild-type EGFR in terms of mechanisms of transformation have not been fully elucidated. We show here that a murine fibroblast cell line, NR6 becomes transformed by an expression level of the mutant EGFR form lacking E746-A750 that is far less than that needed with transfected wild-type EGFR. However, the mutant EGFR was unable to transform NR6 in a ligand-independent manner, as was seen with the wild-type EGFR. The consequent biological features after transformation, including DNA synthesis or cell cycle progression and biochemical characteristics such as MAPK activation mediated by the mutant EGFR are comparable and equivalent to those mediated by wild-type EGFR. These data suggest that the mutant EGFR possesses greater ligand-dependent transformation when compared with wild-type EGFR, although the exact mechanisms to account for this characteristic remain to be defined.

Abstract
Hypothermia decreases cerebral metabolism and increases hemoglobin oxygen affinity. A hypothesis that the reversal of increased oxygen affinity would further attenuate hypothermic cerebral ischemia was tested by evaluating the effects of liposome-encapsulated hemoglobin (LipoHb) with low oxygen affinity (P50 = 40-50 mmHg) on hypothermic incomplete cerebral ischemia. Wistar rats were randomly assigned to one of the following two groups: (A) exchange transfusion with LipoHb solution (Hb = 6 g/dl) (LipoHb, n = 5), (B) no exchange transfusion (control, n = 5). After surface cooling to 22 degrees C, forebrain ischemia was induced for 15 min by bilateral carotid artery occlusion combined with a decrease in the mean arterial pressure (MAP) to 40 mmHg. (31)P-magnetic resonance spectroscopy was performed during ischemia and 45 min of reperfusion. After reperfusion, MAP was significantly higher in the control group than in the LipoHb group (P < 0.01), although there were no significant differences during ischemia. Intracellular pH and phosphocreatine (PCr) levels decreased during ischemia and returned to the preischemic level in both groups following reperfusion. The LipoHb group had a significantly larger decrease and smaller recovery in PCr than the control group (P < 0.0001). Althouth beta-adenosine triphosphate decreased during ischemia in the LipoHb group, it increased in the control group (P < 0.0001). Inorganic phosphate (Pi) increased during ischemia and decreased to the normal value after reperfusion. The LipoHb group experienced a significantly larger production of Pi than the control group (P = 0.02). Hemodilution with high-P50 LipoHb does not reduce ischemic energy depletion induced by hypothermic incomplete forebrain ischemia in rats.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the usefulness of the Sasada transbronchial angled forceps (STAF) in patients with peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs), which are difficult to manipulate with standard forceps. METHODS We have invented the STAF, a forceps with an angled tip. One hundred ten patients with PPLs that were difficult to reach with standard forceps were retrospectively evaluated. The patients first underwent bronchoscopy with a standard forceps and then with the STAF. The specimens obtained with standard forceps and those obtained with STAF were separately fixed and analyzed histologically. We compared the histologic diagnosis of the specimens obtained by STAF with that obtained by the specimens obtained with standard forceps. Statistical significance was calculated with the McNemar chi(2) statistic. RESULTS The diagnostic yield of all lesions from the specimens obtained with STAF (86 of 110 lesions; 78.2%) was significantly higher than that of lesions from the specimens obtained with standard forceps (43 of 110 lesions; 39.1%; p < 0.001). Among malignant lesions, the yield obtained with STAF (60 of 72 lesions; 83.3%) was significantly higher than that obtained with standard forceps (32 of 72 lesions; 44.4%; p < 0.001). Among benign lesions, the yield obtained with STAF (26 of 38 lesions; 68.4%) was also significantly higher than that obtained with standard forceps (11 of 38 lesions; 28.9%; p < 0.001). Among the different lesion areas, the right upper lobe plus the left upper division gave the greatest difference in yield (STAF, 46 of 60 lesions; 76.7%; standard forceps, 22 of 60 lesions; 36.7%; p < 0.001). Among the different size ranges, the diagnostic yields obtained with STAF were significantly higher than that obtained with standard forceps except for the size range of < or = 10 mm. There were two complications, pneumothorax and bronchial bleeding, both of which were controlled easily. CONCLUSIONS The STAF was shown to be useful for obtaining specimens that were sufficient for histologic diagnosis from PPLs that were difficult to manipulate with standard forceps.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Gemcitabine and docetaxel are non-platinum agents with activity in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study was conducted to determine and evaluate the recommended regimen of gemcitabine-docetaxel and evaluated its efficacy and safety in chemonaive Japanese NSCLC patients. METHODS In phase I, patients with stage IIIB/IV NSCLC were randomized and received either gemcitabine on days 1 and 8 plus docetaxel on day 1 or gemcitabine on days 1 and 8 plus docetaxel on day 8. The recommended regimen was the dose level preceding the maximum tolerated dose; once determined, patients were enrolled in phase II. Efficacy and toxicity were evaluated in all patients. RESULTS Twenty-five patients were enrolled in phase I and six patients were given the recommended regimen; gemcitabine 1000 mg/m(2) on days 1 and 8 plus docetaxel 50 mg/m(2) on day 8. An additional 34 patients were enrolled into phase II and administered with the recommended regimen. The response rate was 32.2% [95% confidence interval (CI) 20.6-45.6%] overall and 30.0% (95% CI 16.6-46.5%) in patients with the recommended regimen (40 patients). Although grade 3 interstitial pneumonia was observed in two patients (5.0%) who received the recommended regimen, both recovered shortly after steroid treatment. No unexpected events were observed throughout this study. CONCLUSIONS Gemcitabine 1000 mg/m(2) on days 1 and 8 plus docetaxel 50 mg/m(2) on day 8 has comparable efficacy and more tolerable toxicities than previously reported platinum-based regimens. These results should be verified by a phase III study.

Abstract
Mediation of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-specific cytotoxicity in T lymphocyte via the perforin/granzyme pathway has been demonstrated; therefore, a study involving cytolytic molecules was essential for the clarification of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) pathogenesis. This investigation, which analysed the frequency of three allelic mutations of granzyme-B (55Q/R, 95P/A and 247Y/H) in patients with EBV-HLH and infectious mononucleosis, identified the high prevalence of the QPY haplotype in EBV-HLH patients in comparison with healthy controls. A > G polymorphism was also detected in intron 5; furthermore, nearly complete linkage disequilibrium was observed among these polymorphisms. The recessive role of the QPY haplotype of granzyme-B might be responsible for the pathogenesis of EBV-HLH. Cytotoxicity and DNA fragmentation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes did not differ among patients characterized by the QPY/QPY, RAH/RAH and QPY/RAH genotypes. This finding suggested that DNA fragmentation in target cells is mediated not only by granzyme-B but also by other molecules, including other granzymes or Fas.
