Abstract
Clinical trialists have long been searching for approaches to increase statistical power without increasing sample size. Conventional wait-list controlled (WLC) trials are limited to two trial arms and two or three repeated measurements per person. These features limit statistical power. Furthermore, their analysis is usually based on analysis of covariance or mixed effects modelling, with a focus on estimating treatment effect at one time-period after initiation of therapy. We propose two 3-arm WLC trial designs together with a mixed-effects analysis framework. The designs require three or four repeated measurements per person. The analytic framework defines up to three treatment effect estimands, representing the effects at one to three time-periods after initiation of therapy. The precision (inverse of variance) of the treatment effect estimators in the new and conventional trial designs are analytically derived and evaluated in simulations. The results are interpreted in the context of a cognitive training trial in older people. The proposed designs and analysis methods increase the precision level of treatment effect estimators as compared to conventional designs and analyses. Given a target level of statistical power, the proposed methods require a smaller number of participants per trial than the conventional methods, without necessarily increasing the number of measurements per trial. Furthermore, the proposed analytic framework sheds light on the treatment effects at different times after initiation of therapy, which is not usually considered in conventional WLC trial analysis. In situations that a WLC trial is appropriate, the 3-arm designs are useful alternatives to existing 2-arm designs.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare the accuracy of four digital scanning methods in duplicating a complete denture. MATERIAL AND METHODS Four scanning methods were used: cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), Straumann desktop scanner (DS), Trios intraoral scanner (TIO), and Virtuo Vivo intraoral scanner (VVIO). Each method was used to duplicate all the surfaces of a printed complete denture. The denture was scanned 10 times in each group. The trueness (in root mean square, RMS) and precision (in standard deviation, SD) were calculated by comparing the combined dentition, denture extension, and intaglio surfaces with the reference file. One-way analysis of variance and F-tests were used to test statistical differences (α = 0.05). RESULTS For the scanning accuracy of the whole denture, CBCT showed the highest RMS (0.249 ± 0.020 mm) and lowest trueness than DS (0.124 ± 0.014 mm p < 0.001), TIO (0.131 ± 0.006 mm p < 0.001), and VVIO (0.227 ± 0.020 mm p = 0.017), while DS and TIO showed smaller RMS than VVIO (p < 0.001). For the trueness of dentition, denture extension, and intaglio surfaces, CBCT also showed the highest mean RMS and lowest trueness among all groups (p < 0.001). DS and TIO had smaller mean RMS and higher trueness among all groups in all surfaces (p < 0.001, except VVIO in intaglio surface, p > 0.05). TIO had significantly lower within-group variability of RMS and highest precision compared to DS (p = 0.013), CBCT (p = 0.001), and VVIO (p < 0.001) in the combined surface. For dentition and denture extension surfaces, TIO showed similar within-group variability of RMS with the DS group (p > 0.05) and lower than CBCT and VVIO (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION The 7 Series desktop scanner and Trios 4 intraoral scanner can duplicate dentures in higher trueness than CBCT and the Virtuo Vivo intraoral scanner. The Trios 4 intraoral scanner was more precise in the combined surfaces than other scanning methods, while the 7 Series desktop scanner and Trios 4 intraoral scanner were more precise in the denture extension surface.

Abstract
Spatial reconstruction, a method for evaluating how individuals remember the placement of objects, has traditionally been evaluated through the aggregate estimation of placement errors. However, this approach may obscure the nature of task errors. Specifically, recent data has suggested the importance of examining the precision of responses, as well as absolute performance on item-context bindings. In contrast to traditional analysis approaches based on the distance between the target and the reconstructed item, in this study we further explored three types of errors (swap error, global error, and local distance) that may all contribute to the distance, with particular emphasis on swap errors and local distance due to their associations with item-context bindings and memory precision, respectively. We examined these errors in children aged 3-18 years, making comparisons between children with typical development (TD) and children with Down syndrome (DS), a population with known memory challenges. As expected, older children outperformed younger children in terms of overall memory accuracy. Of importance is that we measured uneven maturational trajectories of memory abilities across the various error types. Specifically, both remembered locations (irrespective of object identity) and swap errors (object-location binding errors) align with the overall memory accuracy. Memory precision, as measured by local distance in simpler set size 2 trials, mirrored overall memory accuracy. However, for more complex set size 3 trials, local distance remained stable before age 8 and showed age-related change thereafter. The group with DS showed reduced precision compared to a TD matched group, and measures of precision, and to a lesser extent binding errors, correlated with standard neuropsychological outcomes. Overall, our study contributed to a fine-grained understanding of developing spatial memory ability in a large sample of typical developing children and a memory impaired population. These findings contribute to a growing body of research examining precision as a key factor in memory performance.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare the repeatability of central corneal thickness (CCT) measurements taken with a new handheld pachymeter (Occuity PM1 pachymeter) and to assess its agreement with ultrasound biometry and two commercially available optical biometers in participants with normal eyes. METHODS Three consecutive CCT measurements of the right eye of 105 participants with normal corneas were acquired by the PM1 pachymeter, Lenstar LS 900 and Oculus Pentacam HR in a random order. This was followed by three measurements with a handheld ultrasound pachymeter (UP) (Pachmate 2). Repeatability and the repeatability limit were calculated for each device and Bland-Altman limits of agreement (LoA) were determined for the PM1 pachymeter compared to the other devices. RESULTS The mean CCT (±SD) was 551.04 ± 33.43, 558.62 ± 31.46, 549.41 ± 31.00 and 539.73 ± 29.50 μm for the PM1 pachymeter, UP, Lenstar and Pentacam, respectively. The repeatability limits (expressed as the within subject SD for repeat measurements) were 14.02, 13.68, 4.99 and 9.90 μm, respectively. The closest agreement was between the PM1 and Lenstar (mean difference = -1.63 μm with LoA 10.72 μm below and 13.97 μm above the readings obtained with the Lenstar). The PM1 underestimated CCT compared to UP (mean difference = 7.58 μm, LoA 24.63 μm below and 9.47 μm above UP). The agreement was lowest between the PM1 and Pentacam (mean difference = -11.30 μm, LoA between 4.29 and 26.89 μm). CONCLUSIONS The PM1 pachymeter shows excellent precision for CCT measurements across a range of corneal thicknesses in normal eyes and provides a safe and easy-to-use alternative to ultrasound pachymetry.

Abstract
Our review delves into the realm of peroral endoscopic myotomies (POEMs) in the upper gastrointestinal tract (UGT). In recent years, POEMs have brought about a revolution in the treatment of UGT motility disorders. Esophageal POEM, the first to be introduced, has now been validated as the primary treatment for achalasia. Subsequently developed, G-POEM displays promising results in addressing refractory gastroparesis. Over time, multiple endoscopic myotomy techniques have emerged for the treatment of Zenker's diverticulum, including Z-POEM, POES, and hybrid approaches. Despite the well-established efficacy outcomes, new challenges arise in the realm of POEMs in the UGT. For esophageal POEM, the future scenario lies in customizing the myotomy extent to the minimum necessary, while for G-POEM, it involves identifying patients who can optimally benefit from the treatment. For ZD, it is crucial to validate an algorithm that considers various myotomy options according to the diverticulum's size and in relation to individual patients. These challenges align with the concept of precision endoscopy, personalizing the technique for each subject. Within our text, we comprehensively examine each myotomy technique, analyzing indications, outcomes, and adverse events. Additionally, we explore the emerging challenges posed by myotomies within the context of the evolving field of precision endoscopy.

Abstract
In modern medicine, medical tests are used for various purposes including diagnosis, disease screening, prognosis, and risk prediction. To quantify the performance of the binary medical test, we often use sensitivity, specificity, and negative and positive predictive values as measures. Additionally, theF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score, which is defined as the harmonic mean of precision (positive predictive value) and recall (sensitivity), has come to be used in the medical field due to its favorable characteristics. TheF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score has been extended for multi-class classification, and two types ofF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -scores have been proposed for multi-class classification: a micro-averagedF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score and a macro-averagedF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score. The micro-averagedF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score pools per-sample classifications across classes and then calculates the overallF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score, whereas the macro-averagedF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score computes an arithmetic mean of theF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -scores for each class. Additionally, Sokolova and Lapalme1 $$ {}^1 $$ gave an alternative definition of the macro-averagedF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -score as the harmonic mean of the arithmetic means of the precision and recall over classes. Although some statistical methods of inference for binary and multi-classF 1 $$ {F}_1 $$ -scores have been proposed, the methodology development of hypothesis testing procedure for them has not been fully progressing yet. Abstract
Objective This study aimed to investigate the reproducibility and accuracy of the Visia® Complexion Analysis Camera System by Canfield Scientific for objective skin analysis. Methods Nineteen participants underwent facial capture with the Visia® camera following a standardised protocol. During the first session, the participants sat down and positioned their faces in a capture rig, closed their eyes and had their faces captured from the left, front and right sides, with threefold repetition of the captures from the front side. After 4 weeks, the participants underwent recapture in a similar manner. Based on the frontal views, data for two measurement methods of the Visia® camera system, the absolute scores and the percentiles, were obtained with regard to the skin criterion wrinkles via automated software calculation. Means and standard deviations were evaluated. Based on the side views, the data for the Truskin Ages® were calculated by the Visia® camera system and compared with the calendrical ages, which served as the gold standard for comparison. Results In the assessment of the reproducibility of the data of the capture system the standard deviation from the frontal captures among all participants was about 3% when the absolute scores of the wrinkles were compared with each other; specifically, the average deviation was 3.36% during the first capture session and 3.4% during the second capture session. Meanwhile, the standard deviation of the measurements was about 9% when the percentiles were compared; specifically, the average deviation was 8.2% during the first capture session and 10.7% during the second capture session. In the assessment of the accuracy the correlation between the calendrical age and the calculated Truskin Age® for both facial sides was very high at a correlation coefficient rho value of >0.8 (right side: r=0.896; left side: r=0.827) and statistically significant at a p-value of <0.001. The average calendrical age and Truskin Age® deviated only slightly from each other and did not differ significantly (right side: p=0.174; left side: p=0.190). The Truskin Age® was slightly higher than the calendrical age by a mean value of 1.37 years for both facial sides. The analysis of the absolute differences revealed that in 50% of the cases, there was a maximum difference of 3 years, and in 75% of the cases, there were maximum differences of 4.5 years for the right side and 5.5 years for the left side. Conclusion The assessment of the reproducibility and accuracy of the objective measurement method, the Visia® camera system, contributed to the validation of the system. The evaluation of the reproducibility revealed a satisfactory precision of the repeated captures when investigating facial wrinkles. Absolute scores should be preferred over percentiles owing to their better precision. The calculation of the accuracy of the Truskin Age® data from the Visia® camera system revealed only a slight deviation from the true calendrical ages. The correlation between both data groups was highly significant.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the accuracy of ChatGPT (Chat generative pretrained transformer), a large language model, in calculating sample size for sport-sciences and sports-medicine research studies. METHODS We conducted an analysis on 4 published papers (ie, examples 1-4) encompassing various study designs and approaches for calculating sample size in 3 sport-science and -medicine journals, including 3 randomized controlled trials and 1 survey paper. We provided ChatGPT with all necessary data such as mean, percentage SD, normal deviates (Zα/2 and Z1-β), and study design. Prompting from 1 example has subsequently been reused to gain insights into the reproducibility of the ChatGPT response. RESULTS ChatGPT correctly calculated the sample size for 1 randomized controlled trial but failed in the remaining 3 examples, including the incorrect identification of the formula in one example of a survey paper. After interaction with ChatGPT, the correct sample size was obtained for the survey paper. Intriguingly, when the prompt from Example 3 was reused, ChatGPT provided a completely different sample size than its initial response. CONCLUSIONS While the use of artificial-intelligence tools holds great promise, it should be noted that it might lead to errors and inconsistencies in sample-size calculations even when the tool is fed with the necessary correct information. As artificial-intelligence technology continues to advance and learn from human feedback, there is hope for improvement in sample-size calculation and other research tasks. However, it is important for scientists to exercise caution in utilizing these tools. Future studies should assess more advanced/powerful versions of this tool (ie, ChatGPT4).

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This article compares and evaluates the marginal and internal fitness and three-dimensional (3D) accuracy of class II inlays fabricated using Tescera (TS) resin, milling of hybrid and zirconia blocks, and 3D printing with NextDent C&B. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifty-two mesio-occlusal inlays were fabricated using conventional method with TS, milling of Lava Ultimate (LU), milling of Zolid Fx multilayer (ZR), and 3D printing (n = 13 each). The marginal and internal fitness were evaluated at six points in the mesio-distal section of a replica under a digital microscope (160× magnification), and the accuracy was evaluated using 3D software. Analyses were conducted using t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and two-way ANOVA, while Duncan's multiple range test was used for post hoc analyses (α = 0.05). RESULTS The marginal and internal fitness of the 3D and ZR were significantly superior to that of the TS and LU. For LU, ZR, and 3D, a significant discrepancy between the marginal gap and internal gap was observed (p < 0.05). On evaluating accuracy, trueness was significantly higher in ZR than in TS and LU; precision was significantly higher in 3D and ZR than in TS and LU (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION The marginal and internal fitness and the accuracy of TS, ZR, and 3D were within the clinically acceptable range. The marginal and internal fitness and accuracy of 3D were better than those of TS and LU, which are commonly used in dentistry. There is immense potential for using 3D-printed inlays in routine clinical practice.

Abstract
Introduction The overlap in clinical presentation between COVID-19 and dengue poses challenges for diagnosis in co-endemic regions. Furthermore, there have been reports of antibody cross-reactivity between SARS-CoV-2 and dengue. Our research aims to evaluate SARS-CoV-2 antigens for serological testing while reducing the possibility of cross-reactivity with anti-dengue antibodies. Method Two hundred and ten serum samples were collected from 179 patients and divided into four panels. Panels 1 and 2 consisted of COVID-19-negative healthy donors (n=81) and pre-pandemic dengue patients (n=50), respectively. Alternatively, Panel 3 (n=19) was composed of reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR)-positive samples collected within two weeks of COVID-19 symptom onset, while Panel 4 (n=60) was composed of positive samples collected after two weeks of symptom onset. Previously developed and characterized in-house SARS-CoV-2 spike-1 (S1), receptor binding domain (RBD), and nucleocapsid (N) immunoglobin G (IgG)-enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assays were used for the study. Results Six dengue-positive sera cross-reacted with the RBD of SARS-CoV-2. However, only one dengue-positive sera cross-reacted with the S1 and N proteins of SARS-CoV-2. Co-immobilization of S1 and RBD in different ratios revealed an 80:20 (S1:RBD) ratio as optimal for achieving an overall 96.2% sensitivity with the least cross-reaction to anti-dengue antibodies. Conclusion Our findings indicated that SARS-CoV-2 RBD-based immunoassays present more cross-reactivity with anti-dengue antibodies than S1 and N proteins. Furthermore, co-immobilization of S1 and RBD reduces the cross-reactivity with anti-dengue antibodies compared to RBD, thereby increasing the immunoassay specificity without affecting overall sensitivity for the dengue-endemic areas.

Abstract
Background Deficiency of Vitamin B12 and folate may determine hematological, neurological, and metabolic alterations; therefore, an accurate quantification of their serum levels is required, especially in the presence of symptoms that might suggest a deficiency. CHORUS VIT B12 and CHORUS FOLATE are two automated immunoassays, developed to quantify vitamin B12 and folate, respectively, in human serum. Design and methods This single-center, non-pharmacological, diagnostic study described the validation and characterization of CHORUS VIT B12 and CHORUS FOLATE, with a specific focus on performance, precision, and reliability. For each assay, 500 serum samples were analyzed. A comparison between CHORUS assays and commercially available kit was also performed. Results For CHORUS VIT B12 the lower limit of quantification (LLoQ) was 165.0 pg/mL and the upper LoQ (ULoQ) was 1846.8 pg/mL. The assay was linear within the calibration range (150-2000 pg/mL) and the accuracy was described with the International Standard Vitamin B12, Serum Folate, HOLO TC (NIBSC code: 03/178), with a mean recovery on two lots of 111%. For CHORUS FOLATE (calibration range of 2.0-20.0 ng/mL), LLoQ was 2.0 ng/mL and ULoQ 19.6 ng/mL. The linearity was demonstrated from 2.4 to 20.0 ng/mL; the accuracy was described with the International Standard mentioned above, achieving a mean recovery on three lots of 92%. The lowest and highest values of both CHORUS and COBAS kits were similar and the median values did not significantly vary. Conclusion CHORUS VIT B12 and CHORUS FOLATE performed well, accurately, and reliably in quantifying vitamin B12 and folate in human serum.

Abstract
The word disease is a common word and there are many diseases like heart disease, diabetes, breast cancer, COVID-19, and kidney disease that threaten humans. Data-mining methods are proving to be increasingly beneficial in the present day, especially in the field of medical applications; through the use of machine-learning methods, that are used to extract valuable information from healthcare data, which can then be used to predict and treat diseases early, reducing the risk of human life. Machine-learning techniques are useful especially in the field of health care in extracting information from healthcare data. These data are very much helpful in predicting the disease early and treating the patients to reduce the risk of human life. For classification and decision-making, data mining is very much suitable. In this paper, a comprehensive study on several diseases and diverse machine-learning approaches that are functional to predict those diseases and also the different datasets used in prediction and making decisions are discussed in detail. The drawbacks of the models from various research papers have been observed and reveal countless computational intelligence approaches. Naïve Bayes, logistic regression (LR), SVM, and random forest are able to produce the best accuracy. With further optimization algorithms like genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization, and ant colony optimization combined with machine learning, better performance can be achieved in terms of accuracy, specificity, precision, recall, and specificity.

Abstract
In the eighteenth century, the sciences and their applications adopted a new attitude based on quantification and, increasingly, on a notion of precision. Within this process, instruments played a significant role. However, while new devices such as the micrometer, telescope, and pendulum clock embodied a formerly unknown potential of precision, this could only be realized by defining a set of practices regulating their application and control. The paper picks up the case of pendulum clocks used in eighteenth-century observatories in order to show the process of learning in the course of which the pendulum clock first became a precision instrument. By examining the results of an especially developed statistical analysis, conducted to compare the performance of eighteenth-century clocks, it highlights the diversity of conditions, attitudes, and manners of handling that are characteristic for the epoch. In this way, it underlines the necessity of standardization of timekeeping practices rather than exclusively focusing on the technological development of clocks. Ultimately, the paper discusses the role of makers and users in order to show the evolution of a "precision instrument."

Abstract
AIM The accuracy of 3D images produced by an intraoral scanner (IOS) is affected by the optical characteristics of restorative materials such as metal, ceramic, and composite resin. The present in vitro study aimed to investigate the impact of core buildup composite resin translucency on IOS accuracy. MATERIALS AND METHODS A core buildup procedure was performed on a proprietary 3D-printed model using injectable composite resins in four groups with different levels of translucency (highest to lowest: AE, A3, AO3, and EX). Ten experimental scans per group were performed using a Medit i700 IOS on a phantom head-mounted model. Reference scans were obtained using an industrial scanner (Solutionix C500). Values of accuracy (trueness and precision) for the respective groups were evaluated using mean deviation values following 3D superimposition. RESULTS Composite resin translucency caused the scale reduction of the optical impressions. Values of trueness showed the highest scale reduction in AE, significantly, followed by A3, AO3, and EX. Considering 50 μm as the cut-off value of deviations for clinical acceptability, the analysis showed most deviations in AE and A3. Similar results were found with precision, where AE showed the highest deviation value statistically, followed by A3, AO3, and EX. CONCLUSIONS Composite resin translucency affects the accuracy of optical impressions, causing a fitting error of CAD/CAM prostheses. The more translucent the composite resin, the less accurate the optical impression. This suggests the need for proper compensation during prosthesis designing for an optimal clinical result. In addition, practitioners should indicate in the digital workflow the proper restorative materials regarding not only the mechanical properties and esthetics, but also the optical characteristics.

Abstract
Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) is prevalent among livestock and wildlife in many countries including New Zealand (NZ), a country which aims to eradicate bTB by 2055. This study evaluates predictions related to the numbers of livestock herds with bTB in NZ from 2012 to 2021 inclusive using both statistical and mechanistic (causal) modelling. Additionally, this study made predictions for the numbers of infected herds between 2022 and 2059. This study introduces a new graphical method representing the causal criteria of strength of association, such as R2, and the consistency of predictions, such as mean squared error. Mechanistic modelling predictions were, on average, more frequently (3 of 4) unbiased than statistical modelling predictions (1 of 4). Additionally, power model predictions were, on average, more frequently (3 of 4) unbiased than exponential model predictions (1 of 4). The mechanistic power model, along with annual updating, had the highest R2 and the lowest mean squared error of predictions. It also exhibited the closest approximation to unbiased predictions. Notably, significantly biased predictions were all underestimates. Based on the mechanistic power model, the biological eradication of bTB from New Zealand is predicted to occur after 2055. Disease eradication planning will benefit from annual updating of future predictions.

Abstract
Previously, radioimmunoassay (RIA) has been the only assay to measure insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) to diagnose hypersomatotropism (HS). Due to radiation concerns, availability, and the cost of IGF-1 RIA, validation of assays for automated analysers such as a chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) is needed. The aim of this study was to validate a CLIA for measurement of feline IGF-1 (IMMULITE 2000® XPi, Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics, Malvern, PA, USA) compared to IGF1 RIA, establish reference interval (RI), and determine a cut-off value for diagnosis of HS in diabetic cats. Validation of assay performance included precision, linearity, and recovery studies. Right-sided RI was determined using surplus serum of 50 healthy adult cats. Surplus serum samples of diabetic cats with known IGF-1 concentration with (n = 32/68) and without HS (n = 36/68) were used for method comparison with RIA. The cut-off for diagnosis of HS was established using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. The intra-assay coefficient of variation (CV) was ≤4.7%, and the inter-assay CV was ≤5.6% for samples with low, medium, and high IGF-1 concentration. Linearity was excellent (R2 > 0.99). The correlation between CLIA and RIA was very high (rs = 0.97), with a mean negative bias for CLIA of 24.5%. The upper limit of RI was 670 ng/mL. ROC analysis showed an area under the curve of 0.94, with best cut-off for diagnosis of HS at 746 ng/mL (sensitivity, 84.4%; specificity, 97.2%). The performance of CLIA was good, and the RI and cut-off for HS diagnosis established in this study allow for CLIA to be used in routine work-up of diabetic cats.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained tremendous popularity recently, especially the use of natural language processing (NLP). ChatGPT is a state-of-the-art chatbot capable of creating natural conversations using NLP. The use of AI in medicine can have a tremendous impact on health care delivery. Although some studies have evaluated ChatGPT's accuracy in self-diagnosis, there is no research regarding its precision and the degree to which it recommends medical consultations. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate ChatGPT's ability to accurately and precisely self-diagnose common orthopedic diseases, as well as the degree of recommendation it provides for medical consultations. METHODS Over a 5-day course, each of the study authors submitted the same questions to ChatGPT. The conditions evaluated were carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), cervical myelopathy (CM), lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS), knee osteoarthritis (KOA), and hip osteoarthritis (HOA). Answers were categorized as either correct, partially correct, incorrect, or a differential diagnosis. The percentage of correct answers and reproducibility were calculated. The reproducibility between days and raters were calculated using the Fleiss κ coefficient. Answers that recommended that the patient seek medical attention were recategorized according to the strength of the recommendation as defined by the study. RESULTS The ratios of correct answers were 25/25, 1/25, 24/25, 16/25, and 17/25 for CTS, CM, LSS, KOA, and HOA, respectively. The ratios of incorrect answers were 23/25 for CM and 0/25 for all other conditions. The reproducibility between days was 1.0, 0.15, 0.7, 0.6, and 0.6 for CTS, CM, LSS, KOA, and HOA, respectively. The reproducibility between raters was 1.0, 0.1, 0.64, -0.12, and 0.04 for CTS, CM, LSS, KOA, and HOA, respectively. Among the answers recommending medical attention, the phrases "essential," "recommended," "best," and "important" were used. Specifically, "essential" occurred in 4 out of 125, "recommended" in 12 out of 125, "best" in 6 out of 125, and "important" in 94 out of 125 answers. Additionally, 7 out of the 125 answers did not include a recommendation to seek medical attention. CONCLUSIONS The accuracy and reproducibility of ChatGPT to self-diagnose five common orthopedic conditions were inconsistent. The accuracy could potentially be improved by adding symptoms that could easily identify a specific location. Only a few answers were accompanied by a strong recommendation to seek medical attention according to our study standards. Although ChatGPT could serve as a potential first step in accessing care, we found variability in accurate self-diagnosis. Given the risk of harm with self-diagnosis without medical follow-up, it would be prudent for an NLP to include clear language alerting patients to seek expert medical opinions. We hope to shed further light on the use of AI in a future clinical study.

Abstract
BACKGROUND At present, the evidence regarding digital impressions' accuracy recorded by using digital scanners is lacking. This systematic review aimed to evaluate whether the type of scanning (intraoral/extraoral) affects the Accuracy of Digital Impressions. METHOD Two independent reviewers performed a systematic search in the database both electronically and manually (PubMed, Ebsco HOST, the Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar) for articles published from 1 January 2010 to 1 December 2022. This study was registered with the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO CRD42020188765) and followed the PRISMA statement. The question in focus was as follows: Does the type of scanning (intraoral or extraoral) affect the accuracy of digital impression? RESULTS A total of 449 papers were obtained by searching electronically and manually. In total, 15 complete-text papers qualified for assessment based on eligibility criteria. After reading the full-text articles, five studies were excluded. Ten studies were selected for the qualitative analysis. The qualitative data reported that the accuracy of both types of scanners (intraoral and extraoral) lies within the range of clinical acceptability. Nevertheless, the intraoral scanners seem to be more accurate when compared to the extraoral scanners for a partial arch situation. CONCLUSIONS Scanning type affects the accuracy of the digital impression. Various factors influence the scanning ability. Intraoral scanners seem to be more accurate compared to extraoral scanners for a partial arch situation. More studies comparing the accuracy of the intraoral scanner and extraoral scanner for a complete arch scan and in an in vivo study setting are needed.

The neuroregulatory effects of TMS can vary depending on the specific mode of stimulation, highlighting the importance of exploring these effects through multimodal application. Additionally, the use of precise TMS therapy can help enhance our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying these effects, providing us with a more comprehensive perspective. This article aims to review the mechanism of action, stimulation mode, multimodal application, and precision of TMS.

Abstract
AIM To evaluate the effectiveness, safety, predictability, precision and changes of higher-order aberrations (HOAs) on corneal front surface of selective corneal wavefront aberration-guided femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (CW-FS-LASIK) in patients with high myopia 1-year postoperatively. METHODS Totally 74 eyes of 37 patients with high myopia or myopic astigmatism in both the eyes who underwent the CW-FS-LASIK procedure in Xi'an Gaoxin Hospital from January 2021 to June 2021 were included. The changes of uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), spherical equivalent refraction (SER), astigmatism, HOAs and Strehl ratio (SR) on the anterior surface of the cornea after 1y of the surgery were analyzed. RESULTS At postoperative 1y, the UDVA (logMAR) of 74 eyes (100%) reached 0 or better, including 0 in 8 eyes (10.81%), -0.1 in 45 eyes (60.81%), and -0.2 in 21 eyes (28.38%). The effectiveness index was 1.29±0.134. There was no decrease in postoperative BCVA compared with preoperative BCVA in all patients. Postoperative BCVA was the same in 44 eyes (59.46%) as preoperative BCVA, increased by 1 line in 23 eyes (31.08%) and increased by 2 lines in 7 eyes (9.46%) compared with preoperative BCVA. The safety index was 1.11±0.159. The estimated corrected SER before surgery was (-7.76±1.21) D, and the actual corrected SER was (-7.83±1.25) D (Y=0.9811X+0.2156, R2=0.9084). There was a high correlation between the estimated corrected SER and the actual corrected SER. The postoperative SER in 74 eyes (100%) was within ±0.75 D. The postoperative astigmatism of all was within -0.75 D to 0. Root mean square (RMS) HOAs of spherical aberration and SR within 5 mm of the corneal front surface were all increased compared with those before operation (P<0.01). The total coma, horizontal coma and vertical coma were all decreased compared with those before operation (P<0.01). There was no statistically significant difference in horizontal trefoil and vertical trefoil compared with preoperative ones (P>0.05). CONCLUSION Selective CW-FS-LASIK for correction of high myopia is effective, safe, predictive, and accurate. For patients with preoperative RMS HOAs over 0.25 defocus equivalent, postoperative coma aberration can be significantly reduced, and SR value can be increased, thus corneal imaging quality can be improved.

Abstract
The textural qualities of cooked rice may be understood as a dominant property and indicator of eating quality. In this study, we evaluated the precision and sensitivity of a back extrusion (BE) test for the texture of cooked germinated brown rice (GBR) in a production process. BE testing of the textural properties of cooked GBR rice showed a high precision of measurement in hardness, toughness and stickiness tests which indicated by the repeatability and reproductivity test but the sensitivity indicated by coefficient of variation of the texture properties. The findings of our study of the effects on cooked GBR texture of different soaking and incubation durations in the production of Khao Dawk Mali 105 (KDML 105) GBR, as measured by BE testing, confirmed that our original protocol for evaluation of the precision and sensitivity of this texture measurement method. The coefficients of determination (R2) of hardness, toughness and stickiness tests and the incubation time at after 48 hours of soaking were 0.82, 0.81 and 0.64, respectively. The repeatability and reproducibility of reliable measurements, which have a low standard deviation of the greatest difference between replicates, are considered to indicate high precision. A high coefficient of variation where relatively wide variations in the absolute value of the property can be detected indicates high sensitivity when small resolutions can be detected, and vice versa. The sensitivity of the BE tests for stickiness, toughness and hardness all ranked higher, in that order, than the sensitivity of the method for adhesiveness, which ranked lowest. The coefficients of variation of these texture parameters were 31.26, 20.59, 19.41 and 18.72, respectively. However, the correlation coefficients among the texture properties obtained by BE testing were not related to the precision or sensitivity of the test. By obtaining these results, we verified that our original protocol for the determination of the precision and sensitivity of food texture measurements which was successfully used for GBR texture measurement.

Abstract
Human neuroscience has always been pushing the boundary of what is measurable. During the last decade, concerns about statistical power and replicability - in science in general, but also specifically in human neuroscience - have fueled an extensive debate. One important insight from this discourse is the need for larger samples, which naturally increases statistical power. An alternative is to increase the precision of measurements, which is the focus of this review. This option is often overlooked, even though statistical power benefits from increasing precision as much as from increasing sample size. Nonetheless, precision has always been at the heart of good scientific practice in human neuroscience, with researchers relying on lab traditions or rules of thumb to ensure sufficient precision for their studies. In this review, we encourage a more systematic approach to precision. We start by introducing measurement precision and its importance for well-powered studies in human neuroscience. Then, determinants for precision in a range of neuroscientific methods (MRI, M/EEG, EDA, Eye-Tracking, and Endocrinology) are elaborated. We end by discussing how a more systematic evaluation of precision and the application of respective insights can lead to an increase in reproducibility in human neuroscience.

Abstract
AIM We aimed to investigate the inter-individual variability in redox and physiological responses of antioxidant-deficient subjects after antioxidant supplementation. METHODS Two hundred individuals were sorted by plasma vitamin C levels. A low vitamin C group (n = 22) and a control group (n = 22) were compared in terms of oxidative stress and performance. Subsequently, the low vitamin C group received for 30 days vitamin C (1 g) or placebo, in randomized, double-blind, crossover fashion, and the effects were examined through a mixed-effects model, while individual responses were calculated. RESULTS The low vitamin C group exhibited lower vitamin C (-25 μmol/L; 95%CI[-31.7, -18.3]; p < 0.001), higher F2 -isoprostanes (+17.1 pg/mL; 95%CI[6.5, 27.7]; p = 0.002), impaired VO2max (-8.2 mL/kg/min; 95%CI[-12.8, -3.6]; p < 0.001) and lower isometric peak torque (-41.5 Nm; 95%CI[-61.8, -21.2]; p < 0.001) compared to the control group. Regarding antioxidant supplementation, a significant treatment effect was found in vitamin C (+11.6 μmol/L; 95%CI[6.8, 17.1], p < 0.001), F2 -isoprostanes (-13.7 pg/mL; 95%CI[-18.9, -8.4], p < 0.001), VO2max (+5.4 mL/kg/min; 95%CI[2.7, 8.2], p = 0.001) and isometric peak torque (+18.7; 95%CI[11.8, 25.7 Nm], p < 0.001). The standard deviation for individual responses (SDir) was greater than the smallest worthwhile change (SWC) for all variables indicating meaningful inter-individual variability. When a minimal clinically important difference (MCID) was set, inter-individual variability remained for VO2max , but not for isometric peak torque. CONCLUSION The proportion of response was generally high after supplementation (82.9%-95.3%); however, a few participants did not benefit from the treatment. This underlines the potential need for personalized nutritional interventions in an exercise physiology context.
