Abstract
BACKGROUND Transport accidents are one of the leading causes of child morbidity and mortality worldwide and represent a significant public health burden. This study aimed to investigate the hospitalization information and burden of pediatric inpatients in transport accidents in China. METHODS In this study, we collected the cover page of the medical records of pediatric inpatients in transport accidents using the Futang Research Center of Pediatric Development (FRCPD) database from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2021. Then, we extracted the epidemiological characteristics, including demographic characteristics, cases distribution, disease information, and hospitalization burden. RESULTS Among 36,455 included inpatients, males, aged 1-3 years, East China, July were dominant in different subgroups. In transport accidents, pedestrians were the most frequently type of injury (65.69%). Of all known lesions, craniocerebral/nerve injury was the more common results in pediatric inpatients in transport accidents (33.93%). In addition to pedal cyclists more susceptible to sport system injury, other types of injured person with transport accidents were mainly craniocerebral/nerve injury. In terms of the type of discharge, occupant of heavy transport vehicle or bus and people with craniocerebral/nerve injury had the highest mortality rate after hospitalization in all type and lesion of injured person groups, respectively. The largest hospitalization burden in the type of injured person was occupant of heavy transport vehicle or bus. CONCLUSIONS This study revealed that epidemiological characteristics and the main factor influencing the hospitalization information and burden of children with traffic accidents in China.

Abstract
Photoadaptive synaptic devices enable in-sensor processing of complex illumination scenes, while second-order adaptive synaptic plasticity improves learning efficiency by modifying the learning rate in a given environment. The integration of above adaptations in one phototransistor device will provide opportunities for developing high-efficient machine vision system. Here, a dually adaptable organic heterojunction transistor as a working unit in the system, which facilitates precise contrast enhancement and improves convergence rate under harsh lighting conditions, is reported. The photoadaptive threshold sliding originates from the bidirectional photoconductivity caused by the light intensity-dependent photogating effect. Metaplasticity is successfully implemented owing to the combination of ambipolar behavior and charge trapping effect. By utilizing the transistor array in a machine vision system, the details and edges can be highlighted in the 0.4% low-contrast images, and a high recognition accuracy of 93.8% with a significantly promoted convergence rate by about 5 times are also achieved. These results open a strategy to fully implement metaplasticity in optoelectronic devices and suggest their vision processing applications in complex lighting scenes.

Abstract
Zavegepant is a novel gepant administered as a nasal spray approved in the United States at a 10 mg dose for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults. The cardiovascular safety of zavegepant nasal spray was assessed in both single-ascending dose (SAD) and multiple-ascending dose (MAD) studies in healthy participants. The SAD study included 72 participants (54 active/18 placebo) who received 0.1-40 mg zavegepant or placebo. The MAD study included 72 participants (56 active/16 placebo) who received 5-40 mg zavegepant or placebo for 1-14 days. Plasma zavegepant pharmacokinetics and electrocardiographic (ECG) parameters (Fridericia-corrected QT interval [QTcF], heart rate, PR interval, ventricular depolarization [QRS], T-wave morphology, and U-wave presence) were analyzed pre- and post-zavegepant administration. Using pooled data from the SAD and MAD studies, the relationship between time-matched plasma zavegepant concentrations and QTc interval was assessed using a linear mixed-effects model to evaluate the potential for QTc interval prolongation. Results showed that single and multiple doses of zavegepant had no significant impact on ECG parameters versus placebo, and there was no concentration-dependent effect on QTcF interval. The estimated slope of the plasma zavegepant concentration-QTcF model was -0.053 ms per ng/mL with a 90% confidence interval of -0.0955 to -0.0110 (p = 0.0415), which is not considered clinically meaningful. At doses up to four times the recommended daily dose, zavegepant does not prolong the QT interval to any clinically relevant extent.

Abstract
Background Serum lipids were found to be correlated with chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. Here, we aimed to research the potential causal associations between five serum lipid parameters and the risk of diabetic nephropathy using several Mendelian Randomization methods. Methods Genetic data was obtained from the UK Biobank datasets. Causal effects were estimated using multiple MR methods. Heterogeneity and pleiotropy tests were performed. Results MR analysis revealed that HDL-C and TG exhibited causal associations with diabetic nephropathy (P<0.05). Similar trends were not observed for other lipid parameters. Conclusions Our research has suggested links between HDL-C, TG and diabetic nephropathy. The findings could contribute to further elucidation of the disease etiology. Strengths and limitations of this study This article only uses Mendel randomization method to analyze the relationship between blood lipids and diabetes nephropathy, which is more convincing when combined with population data.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The triglyceride glucose (TyG) index is a novel and reliable alternative marker for insulin resistance. Previous studies have shown that TyG index is closely associated with cardiovascular outcomes in cardiovascular diseases and coronary revascularization. However, the relationship between TyG index and renal outcomes of coronary revascularization is unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between TyG index and the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with coronary revascularization. METHODS A retrospective cohort study was conducted to select eligible patients with coronary revascularization admitted to ICU in the medical information mart for intensive care IV (MIMIC-IV). According to the TyG index quartile, these patients were divided into four groups (Q1-Q4). The primary endpoint was the incidence of AKI, and secondary endpoints included 28-day mortality and the rate of renal replacement therapy (RRT) use in the AKI population. Multivariate Cox regression analysis and restricted cubic splines (RCS) were used to analyze TyG index association with AKI risk. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was performed to assess the incidence of endpoints in the four groups. RESULTS In this study, 790 patients who underwent coronary revascularization surgery were included, and the incidence of AKI was 30.13%. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that patients with a high TyG index had a significantly increased incidence of AKI (Log-rank P = 0.0045). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that whether TyG index was a continuous variable (HR 1.42, 95% CI 1.06-1.92, P = 0.018) or a categorical variable (Q4: HR 1.89, 95% CI 1.12-3.17, P = 0.017), and there was an independent association between TyG index and AKI in patients with coronary revascularization. The RCS curve showed a linear relationship between higher TyG index and AKI in this particular population (P = 0.078). In addition, Kaplan-Meier analysis showed a significantly increased risk of RRT application in a subset of AKI patients based on quartiles of TyG index (P = 0.029). CONCLUSION TyG index was significantly associated with increased risk of AKI and adverse renal outcomes in patients with coronary revascularization. This finding suggests that the TyG index may be useful in identifying people at high risk for AKI and poor renal outcomes in patients with coronary revascularization.

Abstract
Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a neuroendocrine tumor originating from the parafollicular cells (C cells) of the thyroid gland, classified as sporadic and hereditary. Calcitonin (Ctn) secreted by the C cells is a specific serological marker for MTC, which is of great value in diagnosis, treatment and postoperative management of MTC. The effect of chemoradiotherapy and 131I therapy on MTC is limited, with surgery being the primary therapy. Given the aggressive nature and relatively poor prognosis of MTC, the reasonable surgical extent is crucial for improving cure rate and prognosis of patients. However, there are still some controversies regarding the extent of surgery for MTC. This article elaborates on the research progress and controversies of serum Ctn levels in assisting the evaluation of the extent of surgery for MTC.

Abstract
The superconducting gap symmetry is crucial in understanding the underlying superconductivity mechanism. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) has played a key role in determining the gap symmetry in unconventional superconductors. However, it has been considered so far that ARPES can only measure the magnitude of the superconducting gap but not its phase; the phase has to be detected by other phase-sensitive techniques. Here we propose a method to directly detect the superconducting gap sign by ARPES. This method is successfully validated in a cuprate superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ with a well-known d-wave gap symmetry. When two bands have a strong interband interaction, the resulted electronic structures in the superconducting state are sensitive to the relative gap sign between the two bands. Our present work provides an approach to detect the gap sign and can be applied to various superconductors, particularly those with multiple orbitals like the iron-based superconductors.

Abstract
Fusarium verticillioides has a substantial impact on maize production, commonly leading to maize ear rot and the production of fumonisin, a mycotoxin that poses health risks to both humans and animals. Currently, there is a lack of molecular targets for preventing the disease and controlling the toxin. The biological functions of oxysterol-binding proteins (OSBP) in filamentous fungi remain unclear. In this research, 7 oxysterol-binding protein-related proteins were identified in F. verticillioides, and these proteins were obtained through prokaryotic expression and purification. FvOshC was identified as the specific protein that binds to ergosterol through fluorescence titration. Gene knockout complementation techniques confirmed that FvOSHC plays a positive role, establishing it as a novel global regulatory protein involved in the pathogenicity and FB1 biosynthesis in F. verticillioides. Additionally, the interaction between FvOshC and FvSec14 was identified using yeast two-hybrid techniques. Moreover, computer-aided drug design technology was utilized to identify the receptor molecule Xanthatin based on FvOshC. The inhibitory effect of Xanthatin on the growth of F. verticillioides and the synthesis of FB1 was significantly demonstrated. These findings provide valuable insights that can aid in the management of mycotoxin pollution.

Abstract
Addressing the dual enhancement of circular polarization (glum) and luminescence quantum yield (QY) in circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) systems poses a significant challenge. In this study, we present an innovative strategy utilizing the entropically driven self-assembly of amphiphilic phosphorescent platinum(II) complexes (L-Pt) with tetraethylene glycol chains, resulting in unique temperature dependencies. The entropically driven self-assembly of L-Pt leads to a synergistic improvement in phosphorescence emission efficiency (QY was amplified from 15 % at 25 °C to 53 % at 60 °C) and chirality, both in the ground state and the excited state (glum value has been magnified from 0.04×10-2 to 0.06) with increasing temperature. Notably, we observed reversible modulation of phosphorescence and chirality observed over at least 10 cycles through successive heating and cooling, highlighting the intelligent control of luminescence and chiroptical properties by regulating intermolecular interactions among neighboring L-Pt molecules. Importantly, the QY and glum of the L-Pt assembly in solid state were measured as 69 % and 0.16 respectively, representing relatively high values compared to most self-assembled CPL systems. This study marks the pioneering demonstration of dual thermo-enhancement of phosphorescence and CPL and provides valuable insights into the thermal effects on high-temperature and switchable CPL materials.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Senile osteoporosis may be caused by an imbalance in intestinal flora and oxidative stress. Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), a metabolite of dietary choline dependent on gut microbes, has been found to be significantly increased in osteoporosis. However, the role of TMAO in bone loss during osteoporosis remains poorly understood. In this study, we examined the impact of TMAO on osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption in an in vitro setting. METHODS Osteoclast differentiation was induced by incubating RAW 264.7 cells in the presence of Receptor Activator for Nuclear Factor-κB Ligand (RANKL) and macrophage-stimulating factor (M-CSF). Flow cytometry, TRAP staining assay, CCK-8, and ELISA were employed to investigate the impact of TMAO on osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption activity in vitro. For mechanistic exploration, RT-PCR and Western blotting were utilized to assess the activation of the NF-κB pathway. Additionally, protein levels of secreted cytokines and growth factors were determined using suspension array technology. RESULTS Our findings demonstrate that TMAO enhances RANKL and M-CSF-induced osteoclast formation and bone resorption in a dose-dependent manner. Mechanistically, TMAO triggers the upregulation of the NF-κB pathway and osteoclast-related genes (NFATc1, c-Fos, NF-κB p65, Traf6, and Cathepsin K). Furthermore, TMAO markedly elevated the levels of oxidative stress and inflammatory factors. CONCLUSIONS In conclusion, TMAO enhances RANKL and M-CSF-induced osteoclast differentiation and inflammation in RAW 264.7 cells by activating the NF-κB signaling pathway. These findings offer a new rationale for further academic and clinical research on osteoporosis treatment.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Large prospective trials have demonstrated that finerenone could reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and progression of renal failure among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) associated heart failure (HF) and/or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The aim of this study was to explore the molecular mechanism of finerenone in the treatment of cardiorenal diseases through network pharmacology. METHODS The STITH, SwissTargetPrediction, PharmMapper, DrugBank and ChEMBL databases were used to screen the targets of finerenone. The diseases-related targets were retrieved from the DisGeNET, GeneCards, CTD, OMIM and MalaCards databases. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was conducted with STRING database and Cytoscape software. The clusterProfiler R package was used to perform Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis. The interactions of key targets and finerenone were analyzed by molecular docking in Autodock software. Diabetes mellitus was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Histopathology of myocardial and renal tissues were observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, and detection of protein expressions was conducted using western blotting. RESULTS A total of 111 potential cardiorenal targets of finerenone were identified. The main mechanisms of action may be associated with lipid and atherosclerosis, fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis, AGE-RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications and diabetic cardiomyopathy. The hub targets demonstrated by the PPI network were CASP3, ALB, MMP9, EGFR, ANXA5, IGF1, SRC, TNFRSF1A, IL2 and PPARG, and the docking results suggested that finerenone could bind to these targets with high affinities. HE staining revealed the cardiorenal protection of finerenone on diabetic mice. In addition, the protein expressions of CASP3 and EGFR were increased while ALB was decreased in myocardial and renal tissues in diabetic mice compared with control mice, which were reversed by finerenone. CONCLUSION This study suggested that finerenone exerts cardiorenal benefits through multiple targets and pathways.

Abstract
Purpose This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and genetic characterization of enterococcal isolates (Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium and Enterococcus hirae) isolated from clinical bovine mastitis cases in Ningxia, China. Patients and Methods The enterococci were identified by 16S rRNA amplification and sequencing. Antimicrobial resistance was determined by disc diffusion method. Virulence and antimicrobial resistance genes were detected by PCR assays. Results Overall, 198 enterococcal isolates were identified from 2897 mastitis samples, including 137 (4.7%) E. faecalis, 50 (1.7%) E. faecium and 11 (0.4%) E. hirae. E. faecalis, E. faecium and E. hirae isolates showed high resistance to tetracycline (92.7%, 68.0%, 90.9%), followed by erythromycin (86.9%, 76.0%, 72.7%). The multidrug-resistant strains of E. faecalis and E. faecium were 29 (21.2%) and 13 (26.0%), respectively. The resistance of E. faecalis, E. faecium and E. hirae isolates to tetracycline is mainly attributed to the presence of tetL (alone or combined with tetM and/or tetK), the erythromycin resistance to ermB (alone or combined with ermC and/or ermA). Moreover, cpd (94.2%), gelE (77.4%), efaAfs (93.4%), and esp (79.6%) were the most common virulence genes in E. faecalis. In E. faecium, except for the gene efaAfs (82.0%), other virulence genes are rarely found. Only two strains of E. hirae carrying asa1 gene were detected. Conclusion The results of this study can provide a reference for the prevention and treatment of bovine mastitis caused by enterococci.

Abstract
This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of microcurrent-emitting toothbrushes (MCTs) and ordinary toothbrushes in reducing the dental plaque index (PI) and dental caries activity among orthodontic patients. The evaluation was performed using a crossover study design involving 22 orthodontic patients randomly assigned to the MCT or ordinary toothbrush groups. The participants used the designated toothbrush for 4 weeks and had a 1-week wash-out time before crossover to the other toothbrush. PI (Attin's index) and dental caries activity were measured at baseline and at the end of each 4-week period. Additionally, patients completed questionnaires to assess patient satisfaction for "freshness in mouth" and "cleansing degree." The results showed that the MCT group had a significant reduction in PI (p = 0.009), whereas the ordinary toothbrush group did not (p = 0.595). There was no significant difference in the dental caries activity between the two groups (p > 0.05). Patient satisfaction assessment revealed that 65% patients in the MCT group had more than "fair" experience of freshness, in contrast to 50% of patients in the ordinary toothbrush group. Satisfaction with cleansing degree was similar in both groups. Overall, these findings suggest that MCTs are more effective in reducing dental PI than ordinary toothbrushes.

Abstract
PURPOSE Immune checkpoint inhibitors-related myocarditis (ICI-M) is one of the immune-related adverse events (irAEs), which is rare and highly lethal. This study aimed to establish nomograms based on ratio biomarkers to predict the severity and prognosis of ICI-M. METHODS We retrospectively examined patients with advanced cancers who were also diagnosed with ICI-M at the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University. The patients of ICI-M were divided into mild and severe groups and a 40-day following up was carried out. The major adverse cardiovascular events(MACEs) were regarded as the endpoint. Nomogram-based models were established and validated. RESULTS Seventy-seven patients were involved, including 31 severe cases(40.3%). Lactate dehydrogenase-to-albumin ratio(LAR) combined with the change rate from baseline to onset of LAR( ▵ LAR) which performed best to diagnose the severe ICI-M was identified to establish the nomogram-based model. The bootstrap-corrected concordance index [0.752 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.635 - 0.866] and calibration plot with good degree of fitting confirmed this diagnostic model. Neutrophil-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio(NHR) and LAR were also screened into the nomogram-based model for 40-day MACEs after ICI-M, which performed well by validating for concordance index(0.779 95% CI: 0.677 - 0.865)and calibration plots after being bootstrap-corrected. Moreover, a ≥ 101% increase in LAR significantly separated patients in MACE-free survival. CONCLUSION Ratio indexes at onset and their change rates from baseline showed good diagnostic value for the severity of ICI-M and prognostic value for subsequent MACEs, particularly LAR, NHR and their change rates. The nomogram-based models of ratio indexes could provide a potential choice for early detection and monitor of the severe ICI-M and subsequent MACEs.

Abstract
DNA replication is a vulnerable cellular process, and its deregulation leads to genomic instability. Here, we demonstrate that chromobox protein homolog 3 (CBX3) binds replication protein A 32-kDa subunit (RPA2) and regulates RPA2 retention at stalled replication forks. CBX3 is recruited to stalled replication forks by RPA2 and inhibits ring finger and WD repeat domain 3 (RFWD3)-facilitated replication restart. Phosphorylation of CBX3 at serine-95 by casein kinase 2 (CK2) kinase augments cadherin 1 (CDH1)-mediated CBX3 degradation and RPA2 dynamics at stalled replication forks, which permits replication fork restart. Increased expression of CBX3 due to gene amplification or CK2 inhibitor treatment sensitizes prostate cancer cells to poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors while inducing replication stress and DNA damage. Our work reveals CBX3 as a key regulator of RPA2 function and DNA replication, suggesting that CBX3 could serve as an indicator for targeted therapy of cancer using PARP inhibitors.

Abstract
Multi-stimulus responsive soft materials with integrated functionalities are elementary blocks for building soft intelligent systems, but their rational design remains challenging. Here, we demonstrate an intelligent soft architecture sensitized by magnetized liquid metal droplets that are dispersed in a highly stretchable elastomer network. The supercooled liquid metal droplets serve as microscopic latent heat reservoirs, and their controllable solidification releases localized thermal energy/information flows for enabling programmable visualization and display. This allows the perception of a variety of information-encoded contact (mechanical pressing, stretching, and torsion) and noncontact (magnetic field) stimuli as well as the visualization of dynamic phase transition and stress evolution processes, via thermal and/or thermochromic imaging. The liquid metal-elastomer architecture offers a generic platform for designing soft intelligent sensing, display, and information encryption systems.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Epidemiological observational studies have elucidated a correlation between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and bronchiectasis. However, the causal nature of this association remains ambiguous. To clarify this potential causal linkage, we conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore the bidirectional causality between RA and bronchiectasis. METHODS Summary statistics for RA and bronchiectasis were obtained from the IEU OpenGWAS database We employed various methods, including inverse variance weighting (IVW), MR-Egger, weighted median, weighted mode, and simple mode, to explore potential causal links between RA and bronchiectasis. Additionally, a series of sensitivity studies, such as Cochran's Q test, MR Egger intercept test, and leave-one-out analysis, were conducted to assess the MR analysis's accuracy further. RESULTS In the forward MR analysis, the primary analysis indicated that a genetic predisposition to RA correlated with an increased risk of bronchiectasis in European populations (IVW odds ratio (OR): 1.28, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.20-1.37, p = 1.18E-13). Comparable results were noted in the East Asian subjects (IVW OR: 1.55, 95% CI: 1.30-1.34, p = 8.33E-07). The OR estimates from the other four methods were consistent with those obtained from the IVW method. Sensitivity analysis detected no evidence of horizontal pleiotropy or heterogeneity. Conversely, in the reverse MR analysis, we found no evidence to support a genetic causality between bronchiectasis and RA in either European or East Asian populations. CONCLUSION This study indicates that genetic predisposition to RA correlates with a heightened risk of bronchiectasis in both European and East Asian populations. These results imply that routine screening for bronchiectasis in RA patients could be beneficial, and effective management of RA may contribute to a reduced risk of bronchiectasis. Future research should aim to clarify the underlying mechanisms linking these two conditions.

Abstract
Rapid population aging has been placing heavy tolls on Chinese family caregivers. Previous empirical evidence from multiple countries have shown that establishing national long-term care insurance was effective in reducing family care burdens. Utilizing data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) wave 2011 to 2018, this study examined the effects of implementing the pilot long-term care insurance program on family care received by the Chinese older adults, by using a time-varying Difference-in-Differences (DID) method. The results showed that: (1) the implementation of the pilot long-term care insurance program has led to a 17.2% decline in general for family care received by the Chinese older adults. (2) The effect of participating in the pilot program on family care received differed by respondent's household registration, health status, marital status, and possesion of retirement pension, and were specifically pronounced among those who were urban residents, having spouse, living with disabilities, and living with no retirement pension. (3) Further results from the mechanism analyses showed that the pilot long-term care insurance program decreased the level of family care by reducing the dual intergenerational financial support between older adults and their adult children. (4) Although participating in the pilot program decreased older adult's dependence on their adult children, their physical and mental health status were not negatively affected. This study contributes to the existing literature by evaluating the effects of implementing the pilot long-term care insurance program on family care received by the Chinese older adults, and lends supports to the previous studies that participating in long-term care insurance significantly reduces old adults' demand for family care, but not in sacrifice of their physical and mental well-being.

Abstract
Background Although the importance and benefit of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) in diabetes rodent models has been known, the contribution of HO-1 in the pre-diabetic patients with hyperlipidemia risk still remains unclear. This cross-sectional study aims to evaluate whether HO-1 is associated with hyperlipidemia in pre-diabetes. Methods Serum level of HO-1 was detected using commercially available ELISA kit among 1,425 participants aged 49.3-63.9 with pre-diabetes in a multicenter Risk Evaluation of cAncers in Chinese diabeTic Individuals: A lONgitudinal (REACTION) prospective observational study. Levels of total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) were measured and used to defined hyperlipidemia. The association between HO-1 and hyperlipidemia was explored in different subgroups. Result The level of HO-1 in pre-diabetic patients with hyperlipidemia (181.72 ± 309.57 pg/ml) was obviously lower than that in pre-diabetic patients without hyperlipidemia (322.95 ± 456.37 pg/ml). High level of HO-1 [(210.18,1,746.18) pg/ml] was negatively associated with hyperlipidemia (OR, 0.60; 95% CI, 0.37-0.97; p = 0.0367) after we adjusted potential confounding factors. In subgroup analysis, high level of HO-1 was negatively associated with hyperlipidemia in overweight pre-diabetic patients (OR, 0.50; 95% CI, 0.3-0.9; p = 0.034), especially in overweight women (OR, 0.42; 95% CI, 0.21-0.84; p = 0.014). Conclusions In conclusion, elevated HO-1 level was negatively associated with risk of hyperlipidemia in overweight pre-diabetic patients, especially in female ones. Our findings provide information on the exploratory study of the mechanism of HO-1 in hyperlipidemia, while also suggesting that its mechanism may be influenced by body weight and gender.

Abstract
Aiming at the blade flutter of large horizontal-axis wind turbines, a method by utilizing biomimetic corrugation to suppress blade flutter is first proposed. By extracting the dragonfly wing corrugation, the biomimetic corrugation airfoil is constructed, finding that mapping corrugation to the airfoil pressure side has better aerodynamic performance. The influence of corrugation type, amplitudeλ, and intensity on airfoil flutter is analyzed using orthogonal experiment, which determines that theλhas the greatest influence on airfoil flutter. Based on the fluctuation range of the moment coefficient ΔCm, the optimal airfoil flutter suppression effect is obtained when the type is III,λ= 0.6, and intensity is denser (n= 13). The effective corrugation layout area in the chord direction is determined to be the leading edge, and the ΔCmof corrugation airfoil is reduced by 7.405%, compared to the original airfoil. The application of this corrugation to NREL 15 MW wind turbine 3D blades is studied, and the influence of corrugation layout length in the blade span direction on the suppressive effect is analyzed by fluid-structure interaction. It is found that when the layout length is 0.85 R, the safety marginSfreaches a maximum value of 0.3431 Hz, which is increased 2.940%. The results show that the biomimetic corrugated structure proposed in this paper can not only improve the aerodynamic performance by changing the local flow field on the surface of the blade, but also increase the structural stiffness of the blade itself, and achieve the effect of flutter suppression.

Abstract
Prodrugs have been explored as an alternative to conventional chemotherapy; however, their target specificity remains limited. The tumor microenvironment harbors a range of microorganisms that potentially serve as tumor-targeting vectors for delivering prodrugs. In this study, we harness bacteria-cancer interactions native to the tumor microbiome to achieve high target specificity for prodrug delivery. We identify an oral commensal strain of Lactobacillus plantarum with an intrinsic cancer-binding mechanism and engineer the strain to enable the surface loading of anticancer prodrugs, with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) as a model cancer. The engineered commensals show specific binding to NPC via OppA-mediated recognition of surface heparan sulfate, and the loaded prodrugs are activated by tumor-associated biosignals to release SN-38, a chemotherapy compound, near NPC. In vitro experiments demonstrate that the prodrug-loaded microbes significantly increase the potency of SN-38 against NPC cell lines, up to 10-fold. In a mouse xenograft model, intravenous injection of the engineered L. plantarum leads to bacterial colonization in NPC tumors and a 67% inhibition in tumor growth, enhancing the efficacy of SN-38 by 54%.

Abstract
Parabens are esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which have been used as preservatives and considered safe for nearly a century, until the last two decades when concerns began to be raised about their association with cancers. Knowledge of the mode of action of parabens on the metastatic properties of different cancer cells is still very limited. In the present study, we investigated the effects of methylparaben (MP) and propylparaben (PP) on cell invasion and/or migration in multiple human cancerous and noncancerous cells, including hepatocellular carcinoma cells (HepG2), cervical carcinoma cells (HeLa), breast carcinoma cells (MCF-7), and human placental trophoblasts (HTR-8/SVneo). MP and PP at concentrations in a range of 5-500 μg/L significantly promoted the invasion of four cell lines, with a minimum effective concentration of 5 μg/L. MP and PP up-regulated the expression levels and enzymatic activities of matrix metalloproteinase 2 and 9 (MMP2 and MMP9), as well as altered the expression of the tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase 1 and 2 (TIMP1 and TIMP2) in four cell lines, suggesting MMPs/TIMPs as potential key events (KEs) for paraben-induced cell invasion. Activation of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) and c-Jun N-terminal protein kinases 1/2 (JNK1/2) signaling pathways was required for MP- and PP-promoted invasion of four cell lines, suggesting MAPK signaling pathways as candidates for KEs in cancer or noncancerous cells response to paraben exposure. This study showed for the first time that the two widely used parabens, MP and PP, promoted invasive capacity of multiple human cells through a common mode of action. This study provides evidence for the establishment of a potential cancer-associated AOP for parabens based on pathway-specific mechanism(s), which contributes towards assessing the health risks of these environmental chemicals.
