Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Endovascular brain cooling as a method for rapid and selective induction of hypothermic neuroprotection has not been systematically studied in humans. In this clinical pilot study we investigated the feasibility, safety, and physiologic responses of short-term brain cooling with IC-CSI. MATERIALS AND METHODS We studied 18 patients (50 +/- 10 years old, 9 women) undergoing follow-up cerebral angiography after previous treatment of vascular malformations. Isotonic saline (4-17 degrees C) was infused into 1 internal carotid artery at 33 mL/min for 10 minutes. Brain (JVB) and bladder/esophageal temperature measurements (n = 9) were performed. Both MCAs were monitored with transcranial Doppler sonography (n = 13). Arterial and JV blood were sampled to estimate hemodilution and brain oxygen extraction. RESULTS JVB temperature dropped approximately 0.84 +/- 0.13 degrees C and systemic temperature by 0.15 +/- 0.08 degrees C from baseline (JVB versus systemic temperature: P = .0006). Systolic MCA-flow velocities decreased from 101 +/- 27 to 73 +/- 18 cm/s on the infused side and from 83 +/- 24 to 78 +/- 21 cm/s on the contralateral side (relative changes, -26 +/- 8% versus -4 +/- 27%; P = .009). Changes in hematocrit (-1.2 +/- 1.1%) and cerebral arteriovenous oxygen difference (0.2 +/- 1.0 mL O(2)/100 mL) were not significant. Doppler data showed no signs of vascular spasm or microemboli. No focal neurologic deficits occurred. Pain was not reported. CONCLUSIONS The results of this pilot study suggest that brain cooling can be achieved safely, rapidly, and selectively by means of IC-CSI, opening a new potential avenue for acute neuroprotection. Clinical investigations with control of infusion parameters and measurements of CBF, oxygen consumption, and brain temperature are warranted.

Abstract
Cutaneous and subcutaneous endometriosis occurs most commonly as a secondary process in scars after abdominal or pelvic surgical procedures including hysterectomy, cesarean sections and episiotomy. Simple excision is the recommended management and local recurrence after adequate excision is uncommon. A 32-year-old woman presented with a 5-cm firm tumor on the right perineum. There was cyclical bleeding and fluctuation in size. She was initially treated with subcutaneous goserelin acetate. The lesion decreased in size and was then successfully excised 4 months later.

Abstract
This retrospective, observational study was designed to analyse recent trends in the age distribution of westernized persons in South Korea with common bile duct stones (cholesterol, brown and black stones). Data on 253 patients who had received endoscopic surgery at a tertiary referral hospital in Daegu, the third largest South Korean city, were used to investigate the relationship between the numbers of patients with different types of common bile duct stones and age. There were strong correlations between age and the frequency of the three different types of common bile duct stones. The frequency of cholesterol stones decreased exponentially with increasing patient age, whereas the frequency of brown stones increased exponentially. Patients with black stones showed a Gaussian-like age distribution. Thus, the age-dependency of the frequency of these three common types of bile duct stones differed from one another within this patient population.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Some patients with brain arteriovenous malformation (BAVM) present with focal neurological deficits (FNDs) unrelated to clinically discernable seizure activity or hemorrhage. The aim of this study is to determine demographic and morphological AVM characteristics associated with FNDs. METHODS The 735 patients of the prospective Columbia AVM Databank were analyzed. Univariate and multivariate statistical models were used to test the association of demographic (age, gender), and morphological characteristics (BAVM size, anatomic location, arterial supply, venous drainage pattern, venous ectasia) with the occurrence of FNDs at the time of initial BAVM diagnosis. RESULTS Fifty-three patients (7%, mean age 40+/-16years, 70% women) presented with FNDs. The multivariate logistic regression model revealed an independent association of FNDs with increasing age (OR 1.03; 95%-CI 1.00-1.05), female gender (OR 2.14; 95%-CI 1.15-3.97), deep brain location (OR 2.46; 95%-CI 1.24-4.88), brainstem location (OR 5.62; 95%-CI 1.65-19.23), and venous ectasia (OR 1.91; 95%-CI 1.01-3.64). No association was found for BAVM size, lobar location, arterial supply and venous drainage pattern. INTERPRETATION Focal neurologic deficits unrelated to seizures or hemorrhage are a rare initial presentation of BAVMs. The predominance of FNDs among brainstem and deeply located BAVMs and the lack of a significant association of BAVM size with FNDs indicate selective white matter pathway-specific vulnerability, the association with patient age a time dependent effect. The higher frequency of FNDs among women suggests gender-specificity of brain tissue vulnerability.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Although the pathogenesis of aspirin-induced urticaria (AIU) is not fully understood, mast cell activation has been noted in patients with AIU. Tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine, is released by human skin mast cells and other inflammatory cells in patients with urticaria. To investigate the role of TNF-alpha promoter polymorphisms in the development of AIU, we performed an association study of TNF-alpha promoter polymorphisms with AIU phenotype. METHODS Two hundred thirty-nine patients with AIU consisting of 120 patients with aspirin intolerant chronic urticaria (AICU) and 119 with aspirin-intolerant acute urticaria (AIAU), and 524 normal controls were enrolled. AIU was confirmed by oral aspirin challenge test. Five SNPs in the TNF-alpha gene (-1031T>C, -863C>A, -857C>T, -308G>A, -238G>A) were genotyped by a single-base extension method. Haplotype analyses were done. RESULTS The genotype frequencies of TNF-1031T>C and TNF-863C>A were significantly higher in the AIU patients than in the normal controls in both co-dominant (P = 0.014, P = 0.007) and dominant (P = 0.007, P = 0.004) models. The frequency of TNF-ht2[CACGG] containing a genotype in the AIU group was significantly higher in the normal controls with both co-dominant (P = 0.004, Pc = 0.02) and dominant models (P = 0.002, Pc = 0.01). CONCLUSIONS These findings suggest that the two promoter polymorphisms of TNF-alpha at -1031T>C and -863C>A may contribute to the development of AIU.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The multitargeted kinase inhibitors sorafenib and sunitinib have improved treatment of solid tumours including renal cell carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma by offering better clinical responses. However, sorafenib and sunitinib are commonly associated with cutaneous toxicity. OBJECTIVES We conducted this study to make a clinical assessment of the cutaneous toxicities induced by the oral multitargeted kinase inhibitors sorafenib and sunitinib. METHODS Retrospectively, we reviewed medical records of patients receiving multitargeted kinase inhibitors, including 109 patients on sorafenib for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma or hepatocellular carcinoma and 119 patients receiving sunitinib for treatment of renal cell carcinoma or a gastrointestinal stromal tumour. Clinical data on cutaneous toxicities were collated. We describe the incidences and intensities of toxicities, and analyse the data statistically. RESULTS The most common cutaneous toxicity was hand-and-foot skin reaction (HFSR). Other cutaneous toxicities included alopecia, stomatitis, skin discoloration (hair or face), subungual splinter haemorrhage, facial swelling, facial erythema and xerosis. HFSR and severe stomatitis required therapy modifications to relieve symptoms, but other cutaneous toxicities did not affect treatment course. HFSR was observed in 48% of patients treated with sorafenib and 36% of those treated with sunitinib. Median time to onset was 18.4 days in patients receiving sorafenib and 32.4 days in those receiving sunitinib. HFSR and stomatitis were early symptoms compared with other cutaneous toxicities. Patients with severe HFSR were likely to develop the symptoms at early phases of therapy. A significant correlation between the severity of HFSR and development of alopecia and stomatitis was found. CONCLUSIONS Multitargeted kinase inhibitors are associated with a significant risk of various cutaneous adverse events. HFSR is the commonest and most serious cutaneous toxicity in patients treated with these drugs.

Abstract
Botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injection into the masseter muscles is used to treat masseteric hypertrophy. No serious side effects of BTX-A have been reported, but patients sometimes complain of xerostomia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of injecting BTX-A into the masseter for the treatment of masseteric hypertrophy on the flow of saliva from the parotid gland. 34 volunteers enrolled in this study. A total of 25 units of BTX-A was injected into each side bilaterally at two points at the center of the lower third of the masseter muscle. Saliva was collected from the parotid gland over a period of 10 min to determine the flow rate for 18 weeks after injection. The flow rate was calculated by dividing the amount in milliliters by the collection time in minutes. There were no significant changes in the stimulated parotid saliva flow at 4, 8, 12 or 18 weeks compared with the baseline. Within this limited study, it can be concluded that BTX-A injection into the masseter does not cause any significant decrease in the production of saliva from the parotid gland.

Abstract
Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) domains in phase-separated polystyrene-b-poly(methyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PMMA) diblock copolymer thin films were chemically modified for controlled placement of solution synthesized Au nanoparticles having a mean diameter of 24 nm. Colloidal Au nanoparticles functionalized with thioctic acid were immobilized on amine functionalized PMMA domains on the PS-b-PMMA template using 1-ethyl-3-[3-dimethylaminopropyl] carbodiimide hydrochloride linking chemistry and N-hydroxy sulfosuccinimide stabilizer. Atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy images demonstrated immobilization of Au nanoparticles commensurate with PMMA domains. Nanoparticles form into clusters of single particles, dimers, and linear chains as directed by the PMMA domain size and shape. Capillary forces influence the spacing between Au nanoparticles on PMMA domains. Inter-particle spacings below 3 nm were achieved and these assemblies of closely spaced nanoparticle clusters are expected to exhibit strong localized electromagnetic fields. Thus, these processes and material systems provide an experimental platform for studying resonantly enhanced excitations of surface plasmons as a function of material and geometric structure as well as utilization in catalytic applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIMS Peptic ulcers occur more commonly in patients with liver cirrhosis (LC). Helicobacter pylori is recognized as the most important etiology in the pathogenesis of peptic ulcers. We investigated the efficacy of proton pump inhibitor (PPI)-based triple therapy in patients with chronic liver disease and peptic ulcer. PATIENTS AND METHODS One hundred sixty-three patients with LC or chronic hepatitis (CH) with a peptic ulcer and proven H. pylori infection were included. The combination of PPI, amoxicillin (1.0 g), and clarithromycin (500 mg), each given twice daily, was administered for 1 or 2 weeks. The eradication of H. pylori was determined by the rapid urease test, histology, or the 13C-urea breath test at least 4 weeks after completing the treatment. RESULTS The eradication rate of H. pylori was similar between the LC and CH groups; 82.6% and 88.1%, respectively. In addition, there were no significant differences in eradication rates between the patients with Child-Pugh class A and Child-Pugh class B/C disease. The side effects in each group were generally mild. Only the serum ALT levels showed a significant correlation with the success of H. pylori eradication in both the LC and CH groups. CONCLUSION The PPI-based triple therapy achieves high eradication rates for H. pylori infection, in patients with chronic liver disease, without significant side effects.

Abstract
The most common metastatic sites of cholangiocarcinoma are the retroperitoneal lymph nodes, peritoneum, liver and lungs, and cutaneous metastases of cholangiocarcinoma are rare. Although cutaneous metastases of internal malignancies most commonly present clinically as nontender nodules appearing in a particular area of body, other presentations can occur. Cutaneous metastases of cholangiocarcinoma can appear as a solitary tumour at the therapeutic drainage site. We report a 60-year-old man with unusual cutaneous metastases from hilar cholangiocarcinoma, which presented as multiple indurated plaques and papules on the anterior chest.

Abstract
Chinese cabbage has long been consumed as a staple food by the Koreans in various forms of fresh, salted, or fermented as kimchi. To fulfill the off-season demand for this crop, it has become a common practice to be cultivated under greenhouse conditions. Since pesticide residues in/on leafy vegetables have strongly concerned with food safety in the Korean society, the changes of lufenuron residues, in/on Chinese cabbage applied by foliar spraying under greenhouse conditions was investigated. Lufenuron 5% emulsifiable concentrate (EC) was sprayed with diluted solution of recommended and double doses to the crop. The shoots of the cabbage were harvested immediately after spraying, and sequentially the harvests were conveyed to analyze the residual amounts. The deposited level of the analyte in/on Chinese cabbage under greenhouse conditions seemed to be difficult to produce the crop with 0.2 ppm of maximum residue limit (MRL) of the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA).

Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of the addition of kimchi powder on the quality characteristics of meat batter and breakfast sausage. Breakfast sausages were supplemented with freeze dried kimchi powder (FKP) or hot air dried kimchi powder (HKP) at levels of 1% (FKP-1 and HKP-1) or 2% (FKP-2 and HKP-2). The emulsion stability, cooking yield, and apparent viscosity in meat batters improved with increments of kimchi powder (p<0.05). Increased levels of kimchi powder in breakfast sausage decreased the L(∗) value, pH, and springiness, and increased the a(∗) value, b(∗) value, hardness, chewiness, and gumminess (p<0.05). Sensory evaluations indicated that a higher overall acceptability was attained when the kimchi powder was added to breakfast sausage at a level of 2%.

Abstract
Probiotics, defined as live or attenuated bacteria or bacterial products, confer a significant health benefit to the host. Recently, they have been shown to be useful in the treatment of chronic inflammatory bowel disease and infectious colitis. In this study, we investigated the effect of probiotics on the development of experimental colitis using Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR-4) mutant (lps-/lps-) mice. TLR-4(lps-/lps-) and wild-type (WT) mice were given 2.5% dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) in drinking water to induce colitis with or without Lactobacillus casei pretreatment. Clinical and histological activity of DSS-colitis was attenuated markedly both in TLR-4(lps-/lps-) and WT mice pretreated with L. casei. Interestingly, histological activity was less severe in TLR-4(lps-/lps-) mice than in WT mice. The levels of myeloperoxidase activity and interleukin (IL)-12p40 were attenuated in pretreated TLR-4(lps-/lps-) mice after DSS administration. By contrast, transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta and IL-10 mRNA and protein expressions were increased markedly in pretreated TLR-4(lps-/lps-) mice. The current results suggest that L. casei has a preventive effect in the development of acute DSS-induced colitis and its action depends largely upon TLR-4 status. L. casei modulates the expression of inflammatory cytokines and down-regulates neutrophilic infiltration in the case of incomplete TLR-4 complex signalling.

Abstract
The Korea Invisible Mass Search (KIMS) experiment presents new limits on the weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP)-nucleon cross section using data from an exposure of 3409 kg.d taken with low-background CsI(Tl) crystals at the Yangyang Underground Laboratory. The most stringent limit on the spin-dependent interaction for a pure proton case is obtained. The DAMA signal region for both spin-independent and spin-dependent interactions for the WIMP masses greater than 20 GeV/c2 is excluded by the single experiment with crystal scintillators.

Abstract
This study was carried out to determine whether polymorphisms of organic anion-transporting polypeptide 1B1 (OATP1B1) have an effect on rosuvastatin pharmacokinetics in Koreans. Among 200 subjects genotyped for OATP1B1 c.388A>G, and c.521T>C, 30 subjects were selected for the rosuvastatin pharmacokinetic study. The area under the concentration-time curve for 0 to infinity (AUC(0-infinity)) of rosuvastatin for group 1 (*1a/*1a, *1a/*1b, *1b/*1b), group 2 (*1a/*15, *1b/*15), and group 3 (*15/*15) were 111+/-49.3, 126+/-45.2, and 191+/-31.0 ng h/ml, respectively, with significant differences among the three groups (P=0.0429) and between *15/*15 and the other groups (P=0.0181). The maximum plasma concentration (Cmax) also showed a significant difference between *15/*15 and the other groups (P=0.0181). There were no significant differences in rosuvastatin-lactone pharmacokinetics among the three groups. The pharmacokinetic exposure of rosuvastatin was higher in the OATP1B1*15/*15 subjects than the others, suggesting a potential association between the OATP1B1 genetic polymorphisms and altered rosuvastatin pharmacokinetics in Korean populations.

Abstract
The outcome of both cryopreservation and cryosurgical freezing applications is influenced by the concentration and type of the cryoprotective agent (CPA) or the cryodestructive agent (i.e., the chemical adjuvants referred to here as CDA) added prior to freezing. It also depends on the amount and type of crystalline, amorphous and/or eutectic phases formed during freezing which can differentially affect viability. This work describes the use of X-ray computer tomography (CT) for non-invasive, indirect determination of the phase, solute concentration and temperature within biomaterials (CPA, CDA loaded solutions and tissues) by X-ray attenuation before and after freezing. Specifically, this work focuses on establishing the feasibility of CT (100-420 kV acceleration voltage) to accurately measure the concentration of glycerol or salt as model CPA and CDAs in unfrozen solutions and tissues at 20 degrees C, or the phase in frozen solutions and tissue systems at -78.5 and -196 degrees C. The solutions are composed of water with physiological concentrations of NaCl (0.88% wt/wt) and DMEM (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium) with added glycerol (0-8 M). The tissue system is chosen as 3 mm thick porcine liver slices as well as 2 cm diameter cores which were either imaged fresh (3-4 h cold ischemia) or after loading with DMEM based glycerol solutions (0-8 M) for times ranging from hours to 7 days at 4 degrees C. The X-ray attenuation is reported in Hounsfield units (HU), a clinical measurement which normalizes X-ray attenuation values by the difference between those of water and air. NaCl solutions from 0 to 23.3% wt/wt (i.e. water to eutectic concentration) were found to linearly correspond to HU in a range from 0 to 155. At -196 degrees C the variation was from -80 to 95 HU while at -78.5 degrees C all readings were roughly 10 HU lower. At 20 degrees C NaCl and DMEM solutions with 0-8 M glycerol loading show a linear variation from 0 to 145 HU. After freezing to -78.5 degrees C the variation of the NaCl and DMEM solutions is more than twice as large between -90 and +190 HU and was distinctly non-linear above 6 M. After freezing to -196 degrees C the variation of the NaCl and DMEM solutions increased even further to -80 to +225 HU and was distinctly non-linear above 4 M, which after modeling the phase change and crystallization process is shown to correlate with an amorphous phase. In all tissue systems the HU readings were similar to solutions but higher by roughly 30 HU, as well as showing some deviations at 0 M after storage, probably due to tissue swelling. The standard deviations in all measurements were roughly 5 HU or below in all samples. In addition, two practical examples for CT use were demonstrated including: (1) glycerol loading and freezing of tissue cores and, (2) a mock cryosurgical procedure. In the loading experiment CT was able to measure the permeation of the glycerol into the sample at 20 degrees C, as well as the evolution of distinct amorphous vs. crystalline phases after freezing to -196 degrees C. In the mock cryosurgery example, the iceball edge was clearly visualized, and attempts to determine the temperature within the iceball are discussed. An added benefit of this work is that the density of these frozen samples, an essential property in measurement and modeling of thermal processes, was obtained in comparison to ice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To elucidate the phenotype, genotype, and MRI findings of Korean patients with cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) and mutation carriers. METHODS The authors studied 40 members of nine unrelated Korean CADASIL families. After genetic analysis of Notch3, clinical and MRI findings were correlated in 27 mutation carriers. RESULT Notch3 mutation sites were C174R (one family, n = 3), R133C (one family, n = 3), R587C (one family, n = 1), R544C (two families, n = 5), and R75P (four families, n = 15). The clinical features were typical of CADASIL, but the frequency of migraine in the Korean population appears low. MRI abnormalities were found in 54% of the mutant carriers, the most common being white matter hyperintensities. The prevalence of lacunes and microbleeds increased with patient age. Anterior temporal areas were less often involved in subjects with R75P mutations than in those where mutations occurred in other sites (p = 0.02). Gradient echo imaging identified microbleedings in 33% of mutation carriers (64% of those with abnormal MRI), whereas diffusion-weighted MRI showed abnormal findings in only one patient. Neurologic disability was related to the number of lacunar infarcts and the lesion volume of white matter hyperintensities (p < 0.001) whereas MMSE score was related to the number of lacunar infarcts (p < 0.005). CONCLUSIONS Although Korean cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) mutation carriers show similar clinical and MRI findings, these abnormalities appear less frequently than in other populations. Relatively frequent microbleedings on gradient echo imaging suggest that treatment should be individualized according to MRI findings. The novel mutation of R75P, not involving a cysteine residue, is related to less frequent involvement of the anterior temporal area, thus broadening the spectrum of CADASIL.

Abstract
We performed an improved search for nu(mu) --> nu(e) oscillation with the KEK to Kamioka (K2K) long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment, using the full data sample of 9.2 x 10(19) protons on target. No evidence for a nu(e) appearance signal was found, and we set bounds on the nu(mu) --> nu(e) oscillation parameters. At Deltam(2)=2.8 x 10(-3) eV(2), the best-fit value of the K2Knu(mu) disappearance analysis, we set an upper limit of sin(2)2theta(mue) < 0.13 at a 90% confidence level.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Intracranial hemorrhage is a serious possible complication in patients with brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Several morphologic factors associated with hemorrhagic AVM presentation have been established, but their relevance for the risk of subsequent AVM hemorrhage remains unclear. METHODS The authors analyzed follow-up data on 622 consecutive patients from the prospective Columbia AVM database, limited to the period between initial AVM diagnosis and the start of treatment (i.e., any endovascular, surgical, or radiation therapy). Univariate and multivariate logistic regression and Cox proportional hazard models were applied to analyze the effect of patient age, gender, AVM size, anatomic location, venous drainage pattern, and associated arterial aneurysms on the risk of intracranial hemorrhage at initial presentation and during follow-up. RESULTS The mean pretreatment follow-up was 829 days (median: 102 days), during which 39 (6%) patients experienced AVM hemorrhage. Increasing age (hazard ratio [HR] 1.05, 95% CI 1.03 to 1.08), initial hemorrhagic AVM presentation (HR 5.38, 95% CI 2.64 to 10.96), deep brain location (HR 3.25, 95% CI 1.30 to 8.16), and exclusive deep venous drainage (HR 3.25, 95% CI 1.01 to 5.67) were independent predictors of subsequent hemorrhage. Annual hemorrhage rates on follow-up ranged from 0.9% for patients without hemorrhagic AVM presentation, deep AVM location, or deep venous drainage to as high as 34.4% for those harboring all three risk factors. CONCLUSIONS Hemorrhagic arteriovenous malformation (AVM) presentation, increasing age, deep brain location, and exclusive deep venous drainage appear to be independent predictors for AVM hemorrhage during natural history follow-up. The risk of spontaneous hemorrhage may be low in AVMs without these risk factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS The factors that more accurately predict the detection of colorectal cancers and adenomas at colonoscopy are different. We conducted a prospective multicenter study to evaluate which indications were most closely associated with advanced colorectal neoplasm (CRN), including colorectal cancer, in a group of patients undergoing colonoscopy. PATIENTS AND METHODS The 17 468 patients were enrolled in this study between July 2003 and March 2004, from 11 tertiary medical centers in Korea. They were recruited according to 11 itemized colonoscopic indications. The term "advanced adenoma" refers here to tubular adenomas of diameter of 11 mm or more, or to tubulovillous, villous, or severely dysplastic adenomas, irrespective of their size. Cancer was defined as the invasion of malignant cells beyond the muscularis mucosa. Advanced CRN was defined as advanced adenoma or invasive cancer. RESULTS Advanced CRN was found in 1227/17 307 patients (1176 advanced adenomas plus 51 carcinomas, 7.1 %). According to univariate and multivariate analysis, the factors associated with advanced CRN included age >60 years (odds ratio (OR) 2.1, 95 % confidence interval (CI) 1.8 - 2.4, P < 0.0001), male gender (OR 2.1, 95 %CI 1.7 - 2.7, P < 0.0001), referral for colonoscopy from primary care physician (OR 3.1, 95 %CI 2.5 - 3.7, P < 0.0001), and several other indications (OR 1.8, 95 %CI 1.5 - 2.3, P < 0.001). The yield of colonoscopy for advanced CRN was lower (2.2 %) than expected in patients with iron-deficiency anemia (OR 0.5, 95 %CI 0.2 - 0.9, P = 0.03). CONCLUSIONS Age, gender, and referral for colonoscopy from primary care physician constituted important independent predictors of advanced CRN in patients undergoing colonoscopy.
