Abstract
Endoscopic stent placement is a well established treatment for biliary obstruction. The known disadvantage of plastic stents is their tendency to clog. This article describes another approach to treating biliary obstruction secondary to malignant neoplasms using the expandable metallic Wallstent endoprosthesis.
