Abstract
Background Obesity is becoming serious global public health issue due to sedentary lifestyle and bad eating habits. Dietary and lifestyle practices are directly related to obesity, which can cause serious health problems like cardiac ailments, diabetes, and hypertension etc. Vast varieties of options are available for weight reduction including physical exercises, various diet plans and also the pharmacological agents. Physical activity improves the fitness of the individual and helps in reducing the ill effects of the obesity. Objective To compare the effects of Yoga and Aerobic Exercise on weight circumference, waisthip ratio (WHR) and body mass index (BMI) in overweight and obese individuals. Method An experimental study was started with purposive sampling. Sixty overweight and obese individuals from the community were divided equally into two groups, one group was given supervised yoga asana and the other group was given supervised aerobic exercise for 6 weeks. Waist circumference, waist hip ratio and body mass index were taken pre and post intervention. Result Statistically significant difference was seen in pre and post intervention value of waist circumference, waist hip ratio and body mass index in both the groups with the p value < 0.05. However there was no statistical significant difference noted in waist hip ratio in individuals performing aerobic exercises as p value was > 0.05. Conclusion Both the interventions showed significant reduction in waist circumference, waist hip ratio and body mass index, while better results were noted in the individuals performing yoga asanas.

Potential clinical complications of OriseTM gel use, a new submucosal lifting agent: experience from a tertiary care center and review of the literature. Ann Gastroenterol 2022; 35:407-413. Abstract
Background Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) involves forming a fluid cushion in the submucosal area with a lifting agent, followed by superficial resection. Orise™ gel is one of the commonly used lifting agents for EMR. We present a case series and literature review that analyzes the characteristic histopathological findings and clinical implications observed where Orise™ gel was used before EMR. Methods Colon resection specimens and prior EMR specimens where Orise™ gel was used were reviewed for patients undergoing EMR between January 2018 and December 2020. The literature review included relevant studies from the Medline and Cochrane databases from January 2018 to December 2020. Results A total of 12 colon polyp EMRs using Orise gel were performed during the study period. Seven patients (58.34%) underwent surgical resection. Histological examination revealed that, after the EMR procedure, the Orise™ gel material changed its morphological characteristics over time from a basophilic (bluish) non-inflamed pattern to an eosinophilic (pink) type pattern, eliciting a foreign body reaction. The endoscopic appearance and examination of the excised specimens weeks after injection gave the impression of a mass in some cases. The material was also present transmurally and in some cases in the peri-intestinal adipose tissue. Conclusions It was observed that Orise™ gel use elicits a foreign body-type granulomatous reaction. This potential side effect may lead to overdiagnosis of a mass/lesion and unnecessary surgical interventions. This case series and review of the literature aims to increase awareness of the changes caused by Orise™ gel in the gastrointestinal tract.

Measurement of the Cross Sections of Ξ_{c}^{0} and Ξ_{c}^{+} Baryons and of the Branching-Fraction Ratio BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e})/BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}) in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV. Abstract
The p_{T}-differential cross sections of prompt charm-strange baryons Ξ_{c}^{0} and Ξ_{c}^{+} were measured at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) in proton-proton (pp) collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The Ξ_{c}^{0} baryon was reconstructed via both the semileptonic decay (Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}) and the hadronic decay (Ξ^{-}π^{+}) channels. The Ξ_{c}^{+} baryon was reconstructed via the hadronic decay (Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^{+}) channel. The branching-fraction ratio BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}e^{+}ν_{e})/BR(Ξ_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+})=1.38±0.14(stat)±0.22(syst) was measured with a total uncertainty reduced by a factor of about 3 with respect to the current world average reported by the Particle Data Group. The transverse momentum (p_{T}) dependence of the Ξ_{c}^{0}- and Ξ_{c}^{+}-baryon production relative to the D^{0} meson and to the Σ_{c}^{0,+,++}- and Λ_{c}^{+}-baryon production are reported. The baryon-to-meson ratio increases toward low p_{T} up to a value of approximately 0.3. The measurements are compared with various models that take different hadronization mechanisms into consideration. The results provide stringent constraints to these theoretical calculations and additional evidence that different processes are involved in charm hadronization in electron-positron (e^{+}e^{-}) and hadronic collisions.

Abstract
Rotavirus is the main infective agent of acute gastroenteritis (AGE) in children under the age of five years and causing significant morbidity as well as mortality throughout the world. The study was carried out to detect the prevalence rate, genotypes strain and risk factors of Rotavirus among the children of rural and urban areas of district Bannu Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. A total of 180 stool samples were collected from children under the age of 5 years from two major hospitals of Bannu from January to December (2015). The samples were analyzed by Reverse-transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) for the detection of Rotavirus, positive samples were further processed for genotyping (G and P type) through specific PCR. Of the total, 41 (23%) samples were positive for Rotavirus. The most prevalent G genotypes found were: G3, G8, G9 (each 29%), followed by G10 (15%), and G11 (10%). Whereas the prevalent P genotypes were: P-8 (25%), P-4 and P-10 (each 20%), P-9 (15%), followed by P-6 and P-11 (each 10%). Moreover, Rotavirus infection was more prevalent in summer (23.73%) and winter (22.7%) than spring (20%) and autumn (21.4%). Rotavirus infection exhibited high frequency in June (14%), October (8%) and November (6%). It is concluded that Rotavirus is more prevalent in children and various genotypes (G and P) of Rotavirus are present in the study area. Lack of studies, awareness and rarer testing of Rotavirus are the principal reasons of virus prevalence in district Bannu, Pakistan.

Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM), an endocrine syndrome characterized by high blood glucose levels due to abrogated insulin activity. The existing treatments for DM have side effects and varying degrees of efficacy. Therefore, it is paramount that novel approaches be developed to enhance the management of DM. Therapeutic plants have been accredited as having comparatively high efficacy with fewer adverse effects. The current study aims to elucidate the phytochemical profile, anti-hyperlipidemic, and anti-diabetic effects of methanolic extract D. salicifolia (leaves) in Alloxan-induced diabetic mice. Alloxan was injected intraperitoneally (150 mg kg-1, b.w), to induced diabetes in mice. The mice were divided into three groups (n=10). Group 1 (normal control) received normal food and purified water, Group II (diabetic control) received regular feed and clean water and group III (diabetic treated) received a methanolic extract of the plant (300 mg kg-1) for 28 days with a typical diet and clean water throughout the experiment. Blood samples were collected to checked serum glucose and concentration of LDL, TC, TG. The extract demonstrated significant antihyperglycemic activity (P<0.05), whereas improvements in mice's body weight and lipid profiles were observed after treatment with the extract. This study establishes that the extract has high efficacy with comparatively less toxicity that can be used for DM management.

Abstract
Many methods have been used in the past two decades to detect crack damage in steel joints of the offshore structures, but the electromechanical impedance (EMI) method is a comparatively recent non-destructive method that can be used for quality monitoring of the weld in structural steel joints. The EMI method ensures the direct assessment, analysis and particularly the recognition of structural dynamics by acquiring its EM admittance signatures. This research paper first briefly introduces the theoretical background of the EMI method, followed by carrying out the experimental work in which damage in the form of a crack is simulated by using an impedance analyser at different distances. The EMI technique is used to identify the existence of damage in the welded steel joints of offshore steel jacket structures, and Q345B steel was chosen as the material for test in the present study. Sub-millimetre cracks were found in four typical welded steel joints on the jacket platform under circulating loads, and root average variance was used to assess the extent of the crack damage.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The 2016 American Thyroid Association (ATA) guidelines proposed thyroid lobectomy for low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC); however, this approach is yet to be widely adopted. The aim of the study was to review our practice over three years following the publication of these guidelines identifying patients who underwent lobectomy-only for low-risk DTC in two regional units in the same multidisciplinary team (MDT). METHOD A retrospective review of patients who were operated between January 2016 and December 2018 was carried out. RESULTS In total, 288 patients undergoing thyroid surgery were included. The preoperative distribution of cytology was: Thy 1 or 2 in 46, THY3a in 57, THY3f in 154, THY4 in 18 and THY5 in 13 patients. Median size of nodules was 26mm (range 1-70mm). DTC was diagnosed in 95 patients (33%). Overall, 39% (n = 37) of patients underwent completion thyroidectomy according to ATA recommendations on size or adverse histological features. The only variable associated with likelihood of completion was tumour size (p < 0.05, OR 1.14). Ten patients were discharged following surgery with no further follow-up as they had T1a/b well-differentiated DTC with no high-risk histological features. CONCLUSION Lobectomy-only appears to be the current surgical practice in two-thirds of patients presenting to our regional units with differentiated thyroid carcinoma. In the context of the current drive to reduce the extent of treatment for low-risk thyroid cancer, there is a need for a more homogeneous approach to these patients and for protocols for long-term follow-up after lobectomy-only.

Abstract
The prompt production of the charm baryon Λ_{c}^{+} and the Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0} production ratios were measured at midrapidity with the ALICE detector in pp and p-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. These new measurements show a clear decrease of the Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0} ratio with increasing transverse momentum (p_{T}) in both collision systems in the range 2<p_{T}<12 GeV/c, exhibiting similarities with the light-flavor baryon-to-meson ratios p/π and Λ/K_{S}^{0}. At low p_{T}, predictions that include additional color-reconnection mechanisms beyond the leading-color approximation, assume the existence of additional higher-mass charm-baryon states, or include hadronization via coalescence can describe the data, while predictions driven by charm-quark fragmentation processes measured in e^{+}e^{-} and e^{-}p collisions significantly underestimate the data. The results presented in this Letter provide significant evidence that the established assumption of universality (colliding-system independence) of parton-to-hadron fragmentation is not sufficient to describe charm-baryon production in hadronic collisions at LHC energies.

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine the efficacy of iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4-NPs) using microalgal products as a plant growth stimulant and antifungal agent. The work was conducted with the phyco-synthesis and characterization of Fe3O4-NPs using 0.1 M ferric/ferrous chloride solution (2:1 ratio; 65 °C) with aqueous extract of the green microalga Chlorella K01. Protein, carbohydrate and polyphenol contents of Chlorella K01 extract were measured. The synthesized microalgal Fe3O4-NPs made a significant contribution to the germination and vigor index of rice, maize, mustard, green grams, and watermelons. Fe3O4-NPs also exhibited antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium tricinctum, Fusarium maniliforme, Rhizoctonia solani, and Phythium sp. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), particle size analysers (PSA), and zeta potential (ZP) measurements were used to characterize these green fabricated magnetite NPs. FTIR analysis showed that the synergy of microalgal proteins, carbohydrtates and polyphenols is responsible for the biofabrication of iron nanoparticles. A spheroid dispersion of biosynthesized Fe3O4-NPs with an average diameter of 76.5 nm was produced in the synthetic process.

Abstract
Abstract
Introduction/Objective
Non-cirrhotic portal hypertension (NCPH) is uncommon. The underlying pathophysiology appears to lie at the level of intrahepatic portal veins and sinusoids, hence the term “porto-sinusoidal vascular disease” (PSVD). We report a rare case of PSVD with focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH)-like nodules in a patient with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2).
Methods/Case Report
A 57-year-old male with NF2 and type 2 diabetes, presented with a large variceal bleed requiring blood transfusion and subsequent transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). Imaging showed a nodular liver, presumed to be cirrhosis due to non-alcoholic liver disease. Liver biopsy was not done. Thereafter, he had several episodes of hepatic encephalopathy and TIPS was downsized to prevent recurrences. The patient required liver transplantation for intractable portal hypertension and severe hepatic encephalopathy; his liver synthetic function was near normal and MELD was 11. Portal vein was patent. The explanted liver was micronodular, soft and weighed 946 grams. Unencapsulated nodules, a few mm to 1 cm in size, were present. Microscopically, there was diffuse nodularity in the absence of bridging fibrosis. Thin, incomplete curvilinear fibrous septa were present. There were aberrant veins, hypervascular portal tracts, herniated portal veins and rare occluded portal veins. Trichrome and reticulin stains confirmed architectural abnormalities including nodularity, lack of bridging fibrosis and approximation of portal tracts. Immunohistochemistry for glutamine synthetase accentuated architectural distortion and revealed nodules with FNH-like geographic areas of staining.
Results (if a Case Study enter NA)
NA
Conclusion
This is a rare case of NCPH due to PSVD in a patient with NF2. Microscopy suggested incomplete septal cirrhosis (ISC), a pattern associated with both PSVD and regression of fibrosis in a cirrhotic liver. Isolated portal hypertension without loss of synthetic function favors primary PSVD over regression of fibrosis. FNH-like nodules are consistent with regenerative changes caused by localized abnormalities of blood flow.

Abstract
ABSTRACT. A series of Zn(II) complexes, supported with N-substituted phenylethanamine derivatives, [LnZnCl2] (where Ln = LA ((R)-1-phenyl-N-(thiophene-2-ylmethyl)ethanamine; LB (R)-N-(5-meyhylthiophene-2-yl)methyl-1-phenylethanamine; LC ((R)-N-(furan-2-ylmeththyl)-1-phenylethanamine and LD (R)-N-((5-methylfuran-2-yl)methyl)-1-phenylethanamine) were synthesized and characterized. The urease inhibitory activities of these complexes were determined against selected urease inhibitors where [LBZnCl2] was found to be the most prominent inhibitor of Jack bean urease (J. B. urease) (IC50 = 10.39±0.78 μM), whereas the activity of Bacillus pasteurii urease (B. P. urease) was predominantly inhibited by [LAZnCl2] (IC50 = 8.68±0.7 μM). Additionally, MOE-Dock program was used to affirm the probable binding modes of these complexes into the crystal structure of J. B. urease which certainly verified the inhibitory mechanism of these novel complexes.

Abstract
This Letter presents the first experimental evidence of the attractive strong interaction between a proton and a ϕ meson. The result is obtained from two-particle correlations of combined p-ϕ⊕ p[over ¯]-ϕ pairs measured in high-multiplicity pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ALICE Collaboration. The spin-averaged scattering length and effective range of the p-ϕ interaction are extracted from the fully corrected correlation function employing the Lednický-Lyuboshits approach. In particular, the imaginary part of the scattering length vanishes within uncertainties, indicating that inelastic processes do not play a prominent role for the p-ϕ interaction. These data demonstrate that the interaction is dominated by elastic p-ϕ scattering. Furthermore, an analysis employing phenomenological Gaussian- and Yukawa-type potentials is conducted. Under the assumption of the latter, the N-ϕ coupling constant is found to be g_{N-ϕ}=0.14±0.03(stat)±0.02(syst). This work provides valuable experimental input to accomplish a self-consistent description of the N-ϕ interaction, which is particularly relevant for the more fundamental studies on partial restoration of chiral symmetry in nuclear medium.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Palliative inotropes are frequently utilized for symptom management in patients with end stage heart failure who are unable to undergo durable advanced heart failure therapies. With the advent of improved medical management and early intervention, palliative inotropes may allow for improved patient outcomes than seen previously. In this study, we aim to investigate the survival and outcomes of palliative inotrope therapy and its impacts on ischemic versus non-ischemic cardiomyopathy.
Methods
We retrospectively analyzed 220 patients with American Heart Association Stage D heart failure who were discharged with palliative inotrope therapy after January 1, 2010. Patients who underwent mechanical circulatory support (MCS) or those who underwent heart transplant were excluded. Those with a history of coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, history of percutaneous intervention, or coronary artery bypass grafting were assigned to ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM), while patients without these findings were assigned to non-ischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM). Statistical analysis was completed using Chi-Square and Student's t-tests, wherein p<0.05 was considered statistically significant.
Results
Of the 220 patients, 87 had NICM as opposed to 133 with ICM. Mean age was found to be higher among patients with ICM (70 [62–79]) compared to NICM (65 [55–72], p-value <0.01). No significant difference was seen in total days on inotrope therapy (p=0.6). While more patients in both groups were placed on milrinone as opposed to dobutamine, there was no difference between patients with ischemic and NICM (p=0.66 and 0.51 respectively). Although a greater number of patients with NICM had been lost to follow up, admitted to hospice, or expired at 2 years (p<0.01), survival at 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years showed no difference between both groups. No difference was seen in number of hospitalizations or clinic visits in one year. Both groups had similar complication rates with intravenous-access related PICC line infections and new arrhythmias. (See Table).
Conclusion
Despite more frequent use of durable mechanical support devices, many patients who are deemed unsuitable for invasive measures are treated with palliative inotrope therapy. We have found that there is no significant difference in survival, complications, and outcomes of patients on palliative inotropes among ischemic and NICM. These findings show the versatility of palliative inotrope therapy in end stage heart failure. Further studies with larger populations need to be evaluated.

Abstract
Abstract
Aim
To establish the prognostic value of raised inflammatory markers on Day 3 in patients with severe acute pancreatitis
Method
A retrospective study between 01/02/18 till 31/01/19 including all patients with acute pancreatitis. Patient demographics, the aetiology, treatment, severity (as per modified Atlanta's criteria) and inflammatory markers on Day 3 of the hospital admission were included. ROC curves were subsequently generated.
Results
127 patients were included with a median age of 59 years. 113 patients were diagnosed with mild acute pancreatitis while 14 patients had severe acute pancreatitis. The ROC curve illustrates that the value of CRP which maximises discrimination was 176 mg, with a sensitivity of 83% and specificity of 76%. For WBC with a value of 12.11 showed 100% sensitivity and 80% specificity.
Conclusions
This study highlights that elevated CRP and WBC on Day 3 could both be good predictive tools for patients who develop severe pancreatitis.

Abstract
Abstract
Aim
Hull University teaching hospitals NHS trust has guidelines for patient fasting times prior to major elective surgery. We aimed to assess the compliance of pre-op fasting times for patients undergoing elective colorectal surgery.
Method
An initial and later re-audit was undertaken, prospectively, of 20 consecutive patients admitted for elective colorectal surgery at Castle Hill Hospital. Data was collected on a structured proforma and was completed following patient’s interview, ORMIS (operation room system) and Lorenzo (hospital intranet).
Results
Initial audit demonstrated 10% (2 out of 20) and 5% (1 out of 20) compliance with liquid and solid fasting times, respectively. Following implementation of changes, re-audit demonstrated 60% (12 out of 20) and 0% (0 out of 20) compliance with liquid and solid fasting times respectively
Conclusions
We concluded that liquid fasting times can be improved further by communication between theatre staff and ward. Whilst solid fasting times can be improved but at an expense of losing a theatre space. A further re-audit [planned in a month period.

Abstract
The supplementation of Selenium-enriched probiotics is effective in reducing oxidative stress and maintaining meat quality stability in broiler chicken especially under heat stress. An experimental study was conducted to perform Comparative analysis of Selenium yeast with inorganic Se in broilers under heat stress. A total of 120 broilers chicks of one day were assigned to 4 groups each consisting 30 chicks fed on same basal diet but different selenium sources. The basal diet of group D1 was not supplemented with Se source (Negative control), group D2 basal diet was supplemented with inorganic selenium (Sodium selenite 0.22mg/Kg starter phase and 0.15mg/Kg finisher phase), group D3 basal diet was supplemented with commercially available organic selenium (Seleno-methionine 0.22mg/Kg starter phase and 0.15mg/Kg finisher phase) and group D4 basal diet was supplemented with self-developed organic selenium (Se-enriched yeast 0.22mg/Kg starter phase and 0.15mg/Kg finisher phase). The performance parameters i.e. feed intake (FI), live body weight (BW) and FCR were not significantly (p>0.05) effected by selenium supplementation in the starter phase but were significantly (p<0.05) effected in the finisher phase. Selenium supplementation significantly (p<0.05) effected serum Se level in different supplemented groups. Higher serum Se value (58.20±0.06) was recorded in D4 group. Similarly significantly lower selenium value was recorded for D4 and higher was recorded for D1 (11.36±0.08). However lower serum Paraoxonase (PON) value was recorded for D4 (13.24±0.01) and higher for D1 (13.33±0.03). Comparatively self-developed Se enriched yeast increased the Se accumulation and improved antioxidant system. Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) was found higher in D4 (12.333±0.03) followed by D3, D2 and D1 respectively. Whereas superoxide dismutase (SOD) was significantly lower (p<0.05) in D4 (0.1437±0.003) followed by D3 (0.1457±0.002). Selenium supplementation increased the bird's survival rate. Birds fed on Se enriched yeast showed higher Se deposition and better antioxidant capacity as compared to other sources of selenium. Se-enriched yeast displayed an improved result on Se deposition in tissues, and oxidative capacity, meat tenderness and immune response level as compared to other sources of selenium.
