Abstract
Gastric cancer is the fourth commonly diagnosed cancer and the second most frequent cause of cancer death worldwide. Genetic variations in ADH1B and ALDH2 may alter the function and activity of the corresponding enzymes, leading to differences in acetaldehyde exposure between drinkers. Cytochrome P4502E1 (CYP4502E1) is a phase I enzyme that plays an important role in metabolizing nitrosamine compounds and the bioactivation of procarcinogens. During the period of July 2013 to July 2015, 246 patients and 274 controls were enrolled from the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University. In the codominant model, the AA genotype of ALDH2 Glu487Lys significantly elevated the risk of gastric cancer in comparison with the GG genotype of ALDH2 Glu487Lys. In the recessive model, the AA genotype of ALDH2 Glu487Lys significantly increased the risk of gastric cancer compared to the GG+GA genotype (OR = 2.34 95%CI = 1.02-5.70). We found in the codominant model that individuals harboring the C2/C2 genotype of CYP4502E1 had a higher risk of developing gastric cancer than those with the C1/C1 genotype. In addition, in the recessive model, we found that the C2/C2 genotype correlated with an elevated risk of gastric cancer in comparison with the C1/C1+C1/C2 genotype (OR = 4.90, 95%CI = 2.04-13.51). However, no significant relationship was measured between ADH1B Arg47His and gastric cancer risk. In summary, the results of our study indicate that ALDH2 Glu487Lys and CYP4502E1 polymorphisms could be risk factors for the development of gastric cancer in the Chinese population.

Abstract
The compilation of medical bamboo slips, Ci shu(Needling Methods), which was unearthed from a Han tomb in Mt. Laoguan, is a monograph dealing exclusively with the principles of clinical acupuncture manipulations with 40 acupuncture prescriptions, being the earliest unearthed work with documented standard methods of acupuncture manipulations and acupuncture prescriptions in China. The chapter Zhen fang (Acupuncture Prescriptions) is the earliest summary of standardized acupoint prescriptions up to now in China, which is of great significance to clinical practice directly derived from ancient clinical performance of acupuncture. The chapter Zhen fang of the book Ci shu is also one of the earliest ancient clinical reports archiving the acupoint. This may provide invaluable perspectives to the study of the conceptualization, origination, development, formation of theoretical system, and clinical application of acupoints.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of pathogens isolated from hospitalized children with burn infection. Methods: Totally 541 patients were hospitalized in Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, the 180th Hospital of Chinese People's Liberation Army(PLA), the 92th Hospital of PLA, and Longyan First Hospital from January 2013 to December 2015. Totally 848 clinical specimens (blood, catheter tip attachments, wound exudate, etc.) were collected for pathogen detection. After being identified by an automatic microbiological identification system, drug resistance of pathogens to 41 commonly-used antibiotics in clinic including gentamicin, aztreonam, erythromycin, clindamycin, etc. was tested by K-B paper disk diffusion method or minimal inhibitory concentration detection method. The SPSS 20.0 statistical software was used to analyze the following subjects: the detection rates of pathogens in different years, from different hospitals, and with different sources, the distribution of gram-negative bacteria, gram-positive bacteria, and fungi, the distribution of major pathogens, the detection rate of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, the resistant rates of common gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria to antibiotics. Results: The total detection rate of pathogens was 35.14% (298/848). The detection rates of pathogens were 52.29% (114/218), 33.20% (83/250), and 26.58% (101/380) in 2013, 2014, and 2015 respectively, 38.45% (198/515), 51.43% (18/35), 71.70% (38/53), and 17.96% (44/245) from Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, the 180th Hospital of PLA, the 92th Hospital of PLA, and Longyan First Hospital respectively, and 136/261, 8/137, 3/4, and 7/48 from wound exudate, blood, drainage fluid or tissue fluid, and the other specimens (including catheter tip attachments, sputum, feces) respectively. Among the 298 pathogens, 159 (53.36%) strains were gram-positive bacteria, 129 (43.29%) strains were gram-negative bacteria, and 10 (3.36%) strains were fungi. The detection rate of Staphylococcus aureus was the highest, totally 68 strains, accounting for 22.82%, followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, with 37, 31, and 22 strains, accounting for 12.42%, 10.40%, and 7.38% respectively. Among Staphylococcus aureus, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) accounted for 70.59% (48/68). Among Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE) accounted for 68.18% (15/22). The resistant rates of MRSA and MRSE to penicillin and ampicillin were all 100.0%, and the resistant rates of MRSA to erythromycin, tetracycline, clindamycin and those of MRSE to erythromycin, cotrimoxazole were high. The high resistant rate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa towards antibiotics was detected with cotrimoxazole (83.3%) only. The resistant rates of Acinetobacter baumannii towards piperacillin, ceftazidime, and cotrimoxazole were high (from 58.8% to 71.4%). Conclusions: During the three years, there is large difference in the detection rate of pathogens from these four hospitals in Fujian province. The majority of pathogens were Gram-positive bacteria. The four dominant pathogens were Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Most of the pathogens were resistant to antibiotics commonly used in clinic in different degree, especially MRSA, MRSE and Acinetobacter baumannii, which showed high resistance towards antibiotics.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the features of nerve conduction in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and explore the correlation between compound muscle action potential (CMAP) amplitude and disease duration and revised amyotrophic lateral sclerosis functional rating scale (ALSFRS-R). Methods: Standard motor and sensory nerve conduction studies were performed in 154 patients with ALS. The following parameters were collected including CMAP amplitude, distal motor latency (DML), motor conduction velocity, sensory conduction velocity and sensory nerve action potential amplitude. Regression study was done to explore the correlation between CMAP amplitude and disease duration and ALSFRS-R. Results: Motor nerve conduction abnormalities were presented in a majority of the patients with prolonged DML in the tibial nerve, median nerve and ulnar nerve as the most common form (61.06%-81.42%), followed by decreased CMAP amplitude (30.12%-53.98%), decreased MCV (12.05%-16.81%) and absence of CMAP (2.65%-9.73%). Sensory nerve conduction abnormalities were detected in a small proportion of patients and the decreased SCV, decreased SNAP amplitude and absence of SNAP in the sural nerve, median nerve and ulnar nerve were found in 1.22%-2.73%, 0-1.82% and 0-1.22% patients respectively. No correlation was found between CMAP of the common peroneal nerve, tibial nerve, median nerve and ulnar nerve and the disease duration (P>0.05), while significant positive correlation was established between CMAP amplitude of the median nerve and ulnar nerve and ALSFRS-R (r=0.273, P=0.016; r=0.357, P=0.001). Conclusions: Motor nerve conduction is abnormal in a majority of ALS patients with prolonged DML as the most common form, while abnormal sensory nerve conduction is only found in a few of ALS patients. CMAP amplitude of the median nerve and ulnar nerve might be of certain clinical value in evaluating the severity of ALS.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the features of needle electromyography (EMG) in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and explore the correlation between EMG parameters of the tenth thoracic paraspinal muscle and disease duration, rate of disease progression, forced vital capacity (FVC) and revised Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Functional Rating Scale (ALSFRS-R). Methods: Standard EMG was recorded from unilateral sternocleidomastoid muscle and/or tongue muscles, upper and lower limbs muscles and the tenth thoracic paraspinal muscle in 112 patients with definite ALS between March 2012 and June 2013 in the Department of Neurology at Chinese PLA General Hospital. Parameters studies included spontaneous potentials, duration and amplitude of motor unit potentials (MUP), pattern of recruitment. Results: EMG revealed diffuse neurogenic changes in each case. Fibrillation potential or positive sharp waves were found in some muscles in all of patients, and both of them were found in most of the cases. Fasciculation potentials (FPs) were found in 8 patients and accompanied with fibrillation potential and positive sharp waves in 5 of them. Complex repetitive discharges (CRDs) were found in only 1 patient. Duration and amplitude of MUP was prolonged and increased in ALS patients, and the rate of high amplitude and decreased recruitment pattern were 35.71% and 72.32%, respectively. Logistic regression analysis revealed an association of the FVC loss with the drop of ALSFRS-R and peak amplitude of the tenth thoracic paraspinal muscle. Conclusions: The abnormal spontaneous activity with high frequency are fibrillation potentials and/or positive sharp waves. However, FPs is observed in a small number of patients and CRDs is rarely seen in ALS. The ALSFRS-R and peak amplitude of thetenth thoracic paraspinal muscle may be of certain clinical value in estimating the severity of disease especially the respiratory dysfunction in ALS patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Analysis using publicly available algorithms has found that high mobility group AT-hook 2 (HMGA2), a key transcriptional regulatory factor, is a potential target of microRNA-204 (miR-204). Some studies have shown that both miR-204 and HMGA2 are associated with cancer development. OBJECTIVE We examined the possible relationship between miR-204 and HMGA2 in the development of thyroid cancer. METHODS We assessed miR-204 expression in thyroid cancer specimens and cell lines using real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Luciferase reporter assay was used to confirm the target associations. The effect of miR-204 on cell proliferation was confirmed with tetrazolium and colony formation assays. Gene and protein expression were examined using real-time PCR and western blotting, respectively. RESULTS MiR-204 was downregulated in the thyroid cancer specimens and cell lines, and targeted the 3^\prime untranslated region of HMGA2 directly. MiR-204 overexpression decreased cyclin D1 and Ki67 expression and increased P21 expression, which subsequently inhibited thyroid cancer cell proliferation. CONCLUSIONS Our findings suggest that miR-204 plays a protective role by inhibiting thyroid cancer cell proliferation, and may identify new targets for anti-cancer treatment.

Abstract
We investigated the anti-proliferative effects of recombinant human lysozyme (rHlys) on gastric cancer cell lines and normal human lung fibroblasts. Using conventional molecular cloning techniques we purified rHlys, which we incubated with cultured cells and measured the effects on cell proliferation and viability. At concentrations of 100 and 1000 μg/l, rHlys significantly inhibited the growth of human gastric cancer cell lines. In contrast, 10 and 50 μg/l of rHlys stimulated gastric cancer cell growth. None of the concentrations of rHlys affected cell viability. Only the highest concentration of rHlys (1000 μg/l) inhibited human lung fibroblast growth. Our results suggest that 100 μg/l is the optimum growth inhibiting concentration, which inhibited cancer cell growth but not normal cell growth. Our in vitro findings suggest that genetically engineered rHlys might inhibit human gastric cancer cell proliferation in vivo, so it might warrant further investigation as a potential novel anti-cancer agent.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Apamin-sensitive small-conductance calcium-activated potassium (SK) channels are gated by intracellular Ca(2+) through a constitutive interaction with calmodulin. OBJECTIVE We hypothesize that arrhythmogenic human calmodulin mutations impede activation of SK channels. METHODS We studied 5 previously published calmodulin mutations (N54I, N98S, D96V, D130G, and F90L). Plasmids encoding either wild-type or mutant calmodulin were transiently transfected into human embryonic kidney 293 cells that stably express subtype 2 of SK protein channels (SK2 cells). Whole-cell voltage-clamp recording was used to determine apamin-sensitive current densities. We also performed optical mapping studies in normal murine hearts to determine the effects of apamin in hearts with (n=7) or without (n=3) pretreatment with sea anemone toxin. RESULTS SK2 cells transfected with wild-type calmodulin exhibited an apamin-sensitive current density of 33.6 pA/pF (31.4-36.5 pA/pF) (median and confidence interval 25th-75th percentile), which was significantly higher than that observed for cells transfected with N54I (17.0 pA/pF [14.0-27.7 pA/pF]; P = .016), F90L (22.6 pA/pF [20.3-24.3 pA/pF]; P = .011), D96V (13.0 pA/pF [10.9-15.8 pA/pF]; P = .003), N98S (13.7 pA/pF [8.8-20.4 pA/pF]; P = .005), and D130G (17.6 pA/pF [13.8-24.6 pA/pF]; P = .003). The decrease in SK2 current densities was not associated with a decrease in membrane protein expression or intracellular distribution of the channel protein. Apamin increased the ventricular action potential duration at 80% repolarization (from 79.6 ms [63.4-93.3 ms] to 121.8 ms [97.9-127.2 ms]; P = .010) in hearts pretreated with anemone toxin but not in control hearts. CONCLUSION Human arrhythmogenic calmodulin mutations impede the activation of SK2 channels in human embryonic kidney 293 cells.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze the cell apoptosis of endometrial carcinoma (EC) with Wnt10b by Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) technology. AN3CA cell lines and Ishikawa-H-12 cell lines were taken as the in-vitro cell models to observe the influence of Wnt10b on key factors of Wnt signal pathway. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) was applied for the detection of cell proliferation while FACS was used for the detection of cell apoptosis. Data were analyzed using statistical software SPSS14.0. After the overexpression of Wntl0b in AN3CA cells, the apoptosis rate dropped significantly compared with the two control groups (p < 0.05); while the apoptosis rate increased significantly compared with the control groups (p < 0.01) after Wntl0b knock-off in Ishikawa3-H-12 cells. In normal endometrium, Wnt10b gene expression was negative, while that in EC cells was positive. It can be concluded that Wnt10b gene can promote EC cell proliferation and inhibit its apoptosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The melanin synthesis enzyme dopachrome tautomerase (Dct) regulates intracellular Ca(2+) in melanocytes. Homozygous Dct knockout (Dct(-/-)) adult mice are vulnerable to atrial arrhythmias (AA). OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to determine whether apamin-sensitive small conductance Ca(2+)-activated K(+) (SK) currents are upregulated in Dct(-/-) mice and contribute to AA. METHODS Optical mapping was used to study the membrane potential of the right atrium in Langendorff perfused Dct(-/-) (n = 9) and Dct(+/-) (n = 9) mice. RESULTS Apamin prolonged action potential duration (APD) by 18.8 ms (95% confidence interval [CI] 13.4-24.1 ms) in Dct(-/-) mice and by 11.5 ms (95% CI 5.4-17.6 ms) in Dct(+/-) mice at a pacing cycle length of 150 ms (P = .047). The pacing cycle length threshold to induce APD alternans was 48 ms (95% CI 34-62 ms) for Dct(-/-) mice and 21 ms (95% CI 12-29 ms) for Dct(+/-) mice (P = .002) at baseline, and it was 35 ms (95% CI 21-49 ms) for Dct(-/-) mice and 22 ms (95% CI 11-32 ms) for Dct(+/-) mice (P = .025) after apamin administration. Apamin prolonged post-burst pacing APD by 8.9 ms (95% CI 3.9-14.0 ms) in Dct(-/-) mice and by 1.5 ms (95% CI 0.7-2.3 ms) in Dct(+/-) mice (P = .005). Immunoblot and quantitative polymerase chain reaction analyses showed that protein and transcripts levels of SK1 and SK3 were increased in the right atrium of Dct(-/-) mice. AA inducibility (89% vs 11%; P = .003) and duration (281 seconds vs 66 seconds; P = .008) were greater in Dct(-/-) mice than in Dct(+/-) mice at baseline, but not different (22% vs 11%; P = 1.00) after apamin administration. Five of 8 (63%) induced atrial fibrillation episodes in Dct(-/-) mice had focal drivers. CONCLUSION Apamin-sensitive SK current upregulation in Dct(-/-) mice plays an important role in the mechanism of AA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The effects of intermittent open-loop vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) on the ventricular rate (VR) during atrial fibrillation (AF) remain unclear. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that VNS damages the stellate ganglion (SG) and improves VR control during persistent AF. METHODS We performed left cervical VNS in ambulatory dogs while recording the left SG nerve activity (SGNA) and vagal nerve activity. Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) staining and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining were used to assess neuronal cell death in the SG. RESULTS We induced persistent AF by atrial pacing in 6 dogs, followed by intermittent VNS with short ON-time (14 seconds) and long OFF-time (66 seconds). The integrated SGNA and VR during AF were 4.84 mV·s (95% confidence interval [CI] 3.08-6.60 mV·s) and 142 beats/min (95% CI 116-168 beats/min), respectively. During AF, VNS reduced the integrated SGNA and VR, respectively, to 3.74 mV·s (95% CI 2.27-5.20 mV·s; P = .021) and 115 beats/min (95% CI 96-134 beats/min; P = .016) during 66-second OFF-time and to 4.07 mV·s (95% CI 2.42-5.72 mV·s; P = .037) and 114 beats/min (95% CI 83-146 beats/min; P = .039) during 3-minute OFF-time. VNS increased the frequencies of prolonged (>3 seconds) pauses during AF. TH staining showed large confluent areas of damage in the left SG, characterized by pyknotic nuclei, reduced TH staining, increased percentage of TH-negative ganglion cells, and positive TUNEL staining. Occasional TUNEL-positive ganglion cells were also observed in the right SG. CONCLUSION VNS damaged the SG, leading to reduced SGNA and better rate control during persistent AF.

Abstract
Phospholamban (PLB) inhibits the activity of the cardiac calcium pump SERCA2a. We previously showed that PLB with engineered Cys residues only cross-linked with the Ca(2+) -free E2 intermediate of SERCA2a. Formation of E2•PLB prevents Ca(2+) binding at the high-affinity Ca(2+) binding sites, blocking the enzyme kinetic cycle. Here we further studied the synergistic action of PLB and ATP on E2 in terms of prevention of formation of the phosphorylated E2P-like states stabilized by metal fluorides. SERCA2a was co-expressed in insect cell microsomes with PLB mutants of normal or super-inhibitory strength, with cross-linkable mutations at either the cytosolic side (N30C) or the luminal side (V49C) of PLB. For normal-strength PLB mutants, in the absence of nucleotide, metal fluorides totally inhibited both SERCA2a enzyme activity and cross-linking of PLB to SERCA2a at both sites, suggesting that PLB dissociates from SERCA2a in the E2P-like states. However, under the same conditions, super-inhibitory PLB mutants prevented total enzyme inhibition by metal fluorides. Further, the cross-linking of super-inhibitory PLB to SERCA2a was only partially inhibited by metal fluorides, but was drastically restored upon sequential addition of ATP. These results revealed the equilibrium between E2•PLB, E2•ATP, or E2•ATP•PLB states and E2P-like states, suggesting that the synergistic binding of ATP and PLB to SERCA is very strong, sufficient to prevent formation of E2 phosphoenzymes, even when stabilized by metal fluorides.

Abstract
There is limited information about microRNAs (miR-NAs) in H9N2 subtype influenza virus-infected chicken cells or tissues. In this study, 10,487,469 and 13,119,795 reads were obtained from in-fected and non-infected chicken embryo fibroblasts, respectively. Seven hundred and thirty-six and 1004 miRNAs, including mature miRNAs and precursors, were obtained from the infected and non-infected fibro-blasts, respectively. Of those miRNAs, 48 were expressed differently between the groups: 37 had a low expression level in the infected chick-en embryo fibroblast, and the remaining 11 had a higher expression level. Every miRNA was predicted to target immune response-related genes. It has been found that some of the miRNAs, such as gga-miR-146c, gga-miR-181a, gga-miR-181b, gga-miR-30b, gga-miR-30c, gga-miR-30e, and gga-miR-455, are expressed differently in other types of influenza-infected chicken cells or tissues.

Small conductance calcium-activated potassium current is important in transmural repolarization of failing human ventricles. Circ Arrhythm Electrophysiol 2015; 8:667-76. Abstract
BACKGROUND The transmural distribution of apamin-sensitive small conductance Ca(2+)-activated K(+) (SK) current (IKAS) in failing human ventricles remains unclear. METHODS AND RESULTS We optically mapped left ventricular wedge preparations from 12 failing native hearts and 2 rejected cardiac allografts explanted during transplant surgery. We determined transmural action potential duration (APD) before and after 100 nmol/L apamin administration in all wedges and after sequential administration of apamin, chromanol, and E4031 in 4 wedges. Apamin prolonged APD from 363 ms (95% confidence interval [CI], 341-385) to 409 (95% CI, 385-434; P<0.001) in all hearts, and reduced the transmural conduction velocity from 36 cm/s (95% CI, 30-42) to 32 cm/s (95% CI, 27-37; P=0.001) in 12 native failing hearts at 1000 ms pacing cycle length (PCL). The percent APD prolongation is negatively correlated with baseline APD and positively correlated with PCL. Only 1 wedge had M-cell islands. The percentages of APD prolongation in the last 4 hearts at 2000 ms PCL after apamin, chromanol, and E4031 were 9.1% (95% CI, 3.9-14.2), 17.3% (95% CI, 3.1-31.5), and 35.9% (95% CI, 15.7-56.1), respectively. Immunohistochemical staining of subtype 2 of SK protein showed increased expression in intercalated discs of myocytes. CONCLUSIONS SK current is important in the transmural repolarization in failing human ventricles. The magnitude of IKAS is positively correlated with the PCL, but negatively correlated with APD when PCL is fixed. There is abundant subtype 2 of SK protein in the intercalated discs of myocytes.

Abstract
Phospholamban (PLB) inhibits the activity of cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) Ca(2+)-ATPase (SERCA2a). Phosphorylation of PLB during sympathetic activation reverses SERCA2a inhibition, increasing SR Ca(2+) uptake. However, sympathetic activation also modulates multiple other intracellular targets in ventricular myocytes (VMs), making it impossible to determine the specific effects of the reversal of PLB inhibition on the spontaneous SR Ca(2+) release. Therefore, it remains unclear how PLB regulates rhythmic activity in VMs. Here, we used the Fab fragment of 2D12, a monoclonal anti-PLB antibody, to test how acute reversal of PLB inhibition affects the spontaneous SR Ca(2+) release in normal VMs. Ca(2+) sparks and spontaneous Ca(2+) waves (SCWs) were recorded in the line-scan mode of confocal microscopy using the Ca(2+) fluorescent dye Fluo-4 in isolated permeabilized mouse VMs. Fab, which reverses PLB inhibition, significantly increased the frequency, amplitude, and spatial/temporal spread of Ca(2+) sparks in VMs exposed to 50 nM free [Ca(2+)]. At physiological diastolic free [Ca(2+)] (100-200 nM), Fab facilitated the formation of whole-cell propagating SCWs. At higher free [Ca(2+)], Fab increased the frequency and velocity, but decreased the decay time of the SCWs. cAMP had little additional effect on the frequency or morphology of Ca(2+) sparks or SCWs after Fab addition. These findings were complemented by computer simulations. In conclusion, acute reversal of PLB inhibition alone significantly increased the spontaneous SR Ca(2+) release, leading to the facilitation and organization of whole-cell propagating SCWs in normal VMs. PLB thus plays a key role in subcellular Ca(2+) dynamics and rhythmic activity of VMs.

Abstract
Sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) markers were used to analyze and estimate the genetic variability, level of diversity, and relationships among 20 cultivars and strains of annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.). Eighteen SRAP primer combinations generated 334 amplification bands, of which 298 were polymorphic. The polymorphism information content ranged from 0.4715 (me10 + em1) to 0.5000 (me5 + em7), with an average of 0.4921. The genetic similarity coefficient ranged from 0.4304 to 0.8529, and coefficients between 0.65 and 0.90 accounted for 90.00%. The cluster analysis separated the accessions into five groups partly according to their germplasm resource origins.

Abstract
We investigated the correlation between the response to chemotherapy in patients and excision repair cross-complimenta-ry group 1 gene (ERCC1) and xeroderma pigmentosum complemen-tation group F gene (XPF) polymorphisms and the effect of these polymorphisms on the clinical outcome of gastric cancer. Samples from a total of 255 patients with newly diagnosed and histopatho-logically confirmed primary gastric cancer were collected in our study. The ERCC1 rs11615, ERCC1 rs2298881, XPF rs2276465, and XPF rs6498486 polymorphisms were genotyped. Among the 255 patients, the median follow-up time was 29.7 months. A total of 103 patients (40.4%) died from gastric cancer during the follow-up period. We observed that the XPF rs6498486 CC genotype and the XPF rs2276465 GG genotype were associated with response to che-motherapy, with odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals of 3.88 (1.23-16.07) and 2.66 (1.17-6.45), respectively. In the Cox propor-tional hazards model, patients carrying the ERCC1 rs11615 AA gen-otype and the XPF rs2276465 GG genotype showed only a 0.22- and 0.30-fold increased risk of death from gastric cancer. We found that the XPF rs6498486 and XPF rs2276465 polymorphisms are mark-ers of response to oxaliplatin/5-fluorouracil-based chemotherapy in gastric cancer patients.

Abstract
Absorption spectra of polymer FBT-Th4 (1,4) (M n = 46.4 Kg/mol, E g = 1.62 eV, and HOMO = -5.36 eV) indicate strong interchain aggregation ability. High hole mobilities up to 1.92 cm(2) (V s)(-1) are demonstrated in OFETs fabricated under mild conditions. Inverted solar cells with active layer thicknesses ranging from 100 to 440 nm display PCEs exceeding 6.5%, with the highest efficiency of 7.64% achieved with a 230 nm thick active layer.
