Abstract
Objective: To explore the risk factors for lower extremity amputation in patients with diabetic foot. Methods: The clinical data of 1 771 patients with diabetic foot at the Air Force General Hospital of PLA from November 2001 to April 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into the non-amputation and amputation groups. Within the amputation group, subjects were further divided into the minor and major amputation subgroups. Binary logistic regression analyses were used to assess the association between risk factors and lower extremity amputation. Results: Among 1 771 patients with diabetic foot, 323 of them (18.24%) were in the amputation group (major amputation: 41; minor amputation: 282) and 1 448 (81.76%) in the non-amputation group. Compared with non-amputation patients, those in the amputation group had a longer hospital stay and higher estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)levels. Fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), C-reaction protein (CRP), ESR, ferritin, fibrinogen and WBC levels of the amputation group were higher, while hemoglobin albumin, transferrin, TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C were lower than those of the non-amputation group (all P<0.05). The proportion of hypertension(52.48% vs 59.98%), peripheral vascular disease (PAD)(68.11% vs 25.04%), and coronary heart disease(21.33% vs 28.71%)were different between the amputation and non-amputation groups (all P<0.05). Multivariable logistic regression analyses showed that Wagner's grade, PAD and CRP were the independent risk factors associated with lower extremity amputation in hospitalized patients with diabetic foot. Conclusion: Wagner's grade, ischemia of lower limbs and infection are closely associated with amputation of diabetic foot patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cachexia is a frequent manifestation of pancreatic cancer, can limit a patient's ability to take chemotherapy, and is associated with shortened survival. We developed a model to predict the early onset of cachexia in advanced pancreatic cancer patients. METHODS Patients with newly diagnosed, untreated metastatic or locally advanced pancreatic cancer were included. Serum cytokines were drawn prior to therapy. Patient symptoms were recorded using the M.D. Anderson Symptom Inventory (MDASI). Our primary endpoint was either 10% weight loss or death within 60 days of the start of therapy. RESULTS Twenty-seven of 89 patients met the primary endpoint (either having lost 10% of body weight or having died within 60 days of the start of treatment). In a univariate analysis, smoking, history symptoms of pain and difficulty swallowing, high levels of MK, CXCL-16, IL-6, TNF-a, and low IL-1b all correlated with this endpoint. We used recursive partition to fit a regression tree model, selecting four of 26 variables (CXCL-16, IL-1b, pain, swallowing difficulty) as important in predicting cachexia. From these, a model of two cytokines (CXCL-16 > 5.135 ng/ml and IL-1b < 0.08 ng/ml) demonstrated a better sensitivity and specificity for this outcome (0.70 and 0.86, respectively) than any individual cytokine or tumor marker. CONCLUSIONS Cachexia is frequent in pancreatic cancer; one in three patients met our endpoint of 10% weight loss or death within 60 days. Inflammatory cytokines are better than conventional tumor markers at predicting this outcome. Recursive partitioning analysis suggests that a model of CXCL-16 and IL-1B may offer a better ability than individual cytokines to predict this outcome.

Abstract
AIM To determine the diagnostic value of combined diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with dynamic contrast enhancement magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) in differentiating malignant from benign bone lesions. MATERIALS AND METHODS DWI and DCE-MRI were performed in 36 patients (14 were benign and 22 were malignant). The mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values and signal enhanced extent (SEE), slope value, and time-signal intensity curve (TIC) type were recorded by two observers. Between-group comparison was made using the independent sample t-test and receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. RESULTS There was a significant difference between the mean ADC value of the benign ([1.75±0.50]×10-3 mm2/s) and malignant ([1.11±0.47]×10-3 mm2/s) groups (p=0.001). The threshold ADC value of ≤1.10×10-3 mm2/s resulted in a sensitivity of 77.3%, a specificity of 92.9%, and an accuracy of 85.1%. A type III curve was found in 23 cases (21 malignant and two benign), a type II curve was seen in six cases (one malignant and five benign), and a type I curve in seven cases (all were benign). The SEE and slope values in the benign and malignant groups were 227.96±172.08, 325.60±125.86 (p=0.058); 0.97±0.67%/s, 3.19±3.20%/s (p=0.016), respectively. ROC analysis showed a sensitivity of 95.5%, a specificity of 85.7%, and an accuracy of 90.6% for malignancy, based on a slope cut-off value of >1.46%/s. Combining ADC and slope values resulted in a sensitivity of 100%, a specificity of 85.7%, and an accuracy of 92.9%. CONCLUSIONS Both DWI and DCE-MRI showed promising results for differentiating malignant from benign bone lesions. A combination of DWI and DCE-MRI was the most valuable of the three.

Abstract
Objective: To understand tobacco use rate and explore the factors associated with tobacco use in middle school students in China. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted among 155 117 eligible middle students selected through multi-stage stratified cluster sampling from 31 provinces of China. The questionnaire consists of the following topics: tobacco use and cessation, passive smoking, access to tobacco products, tobacco control and tobacco advertisement, and knowledge about and attitudes to tobacco. Software SAS 9.3 was used for sample weighting and data analysis. Results: Current tobacco use rate was 6.9% in middle school students in China. The rate was higher in boys (11.2%) than in girls (2.2%), and in rural area (7.8%) than in urban area (4.8%). Students in western area had the highest tobacco use rate (10.3%), followed by the students in middle area (6.4%), and the rate in students in eastern area was lowest (4.5%). Parent smoking (especially mother smoking), friend smoking, teacher smoking, pocket money for a week>20 yuan, tobacco advertisement or promotion, passive smoking, misconception of tobacco addiction, active attitude to smoking behavior were the risk factors for tobacco use. Conclusions: Smoking rate in boys in China was higher than the average global level. A comprehensive intervention strategy by Framework Convention on Tobacco Control should be used to reduce tobacco use in adolescents, including health education, increasing cigarette price, banning tobacco advertisement and promotion, and smoke-free legislation.

Abstract
Current non-surgical treatments for lumbar radiculopathy [e.g. epidural steroids and Tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) antagonists] are neither effective nor safe. As a non-toxic natural product, curcumin possesses an exceptional anti-inflammatory profile. We hypothesised that curcumin alleviates lumbar radiculopathy by attenuating neuroinflammation, oxidative stress and nociceptive factors. In a dorsal root ganglion (DRG) culture, curcumin effectively inhibited TNF-α-induced neuroinflammation, in a dose-dependent manner, as shown by mRNA and protein expression of IL-6 and COX-2. Such effects might be mediated via protein kinase B (AKT) and extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) pathways. Also, a similar effect in combating TNF-α-induced neuroinflammation was observed in isolated primary neurons. In addition, curcumin protected neurons from TNF-α-triggered excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and cellular apoptosis and, accordingly, promoted mRNA expression of the anti-oxidative enzymes haem oxygenase-1, catalase and superoxide dismutase-2. Intriguingly, electronic von Frey test suggested that intraperitoneal injection of curcumin significantly abolished ipsilateral hyperalgesia secondary to disc herniation in mice, for up to 2 weeks post-surgery. Such in vivo pain alleviation could be attributed to the suppression, observed in DRG explant culture, of TNF-α-elicited neuropeptides, such as substance P and calcitonin gene-related peptide. Surprisingly, micro-computed tomography (μCT) data suggested that curcumin treatment could promote disc height recovery following disc herniation. Alcian blue/picrosirius red staining confirmed that systemic curcumin administration promoted regeneration of extracellular matrix proteins, visualised by presence of abundant newly-formed collagen and proteoglycan content in herniated disc. Our study provided pre-clinical evidence for expediting this natural, non-toxic pleiotropic agent to become a new and safe clinical treatment of radiculopathy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Propofol is a widely used intravenous general anesthetic. Acetylcholine (ACh) is critical in controlling epithelial ion transport. This study was to investigate the effects of propofol on ACh-evoked secretion in rat ileum epithelium. METHODS The Ussing chamber technique was used to investigate the effects of propofol on carbachol (CCh)-evoked short-circuit currents (Isc). KEY RESULTS Propofol (10-2 -10-6 mol/L) attenuated CCh-evoked Isc of rat ileum mucosa in a dose-dependent manner. The inhibitory effect of propofol was only evident after application to the serosal side. Pretreatment with tetrodotoxin (TTX, 0.3 μmol/L, n=5) had no effect on propofol-induced inhibitory effect, whereas serosal application of K+ channel inhibitor, glibenclamide, but not, an ATP-sensitive K+ channel inhibitor, largely reduced the inhibitory effect of propofol. In addition, pretreatment with either hexamethonium bromide (HB, nicotinic nACh receptor antagonist) or Cl- channel blockers niflumic acid and cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (inh)-172 did not produce any effect on the propofol-induced inhibitory effect. CONCLUSIONS & INFERENCES Propofol inhibits CCh-induced intestinal secretion by directly targeting basolateral K+ channels.

Abstract
Objective: To study the expression of membrane HLA-G (mHLA-G) and the receptor immunoglobulin-like transcript 2(ILT2) on lymphocyte and find their association with rejection and cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection after renal transplantation. Methods: A total of 88 cases of renal transplant recipients for the first time from February 2014 to February 2016 were studied in this work. Recipients can be divided into rejection group (n=12) and stable renal function group (n=41) according to whether rejection occurred. Recipients only infected CMV not developed rejection were included in the CMV positive group (n=24). CMV negative group (n=11) including CMV negative recipients once infected CMV.The expression of mHLA-G and ILT2 on lymphocytes were detected by flow cytometry, and the differences among different groups were analyzed. Results: The data showed that after renal transplantation, T and B lymphocytes mHLA-G expression rate was the lowest in the rejection group (0.42%±0.35%, 0.88%±0.47%), having significant difference with renal function stable group and CMV positive group (all P<0.01). In CMV positive group the expression of mHLA-G on T and B lymphocytes was the highest (1.31%±0.69%, 2.01%±0.91%), having significant difference with rejection group (P<0.001). The expression of mHLA-G on B cell was statistically significantly different between CMV positive group and CMV negative group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in ILT2 expression on B cell among the four groups (P>0.05). The expression rate of ILT2 on T cells was higher in the CMV positive group (36.91%±14.91%), having significant difference with the other three groups (P<0.01). Conclusions: Low expression of mHLA-G on T and B lymphocytes may predict rejection after renal transplantation. High expression of mHLA-G and ILT2 on lymphocytes is prone to CMV infection after renal transplantation .

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate long noncoding RNA PVT1 expression in the serum of cervical cancer patients, and to evaluate serum PVT1 level as a diagnostic biomarker for cervical cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS Eighty-eight cervical cancer patients, 64 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia patients, 25 breast cancer patients, 25 ovarian cancer patients, and 111 healthy control subjects were enrolled into this study. PVT1 serum level in these participants and PVT1 expression in 20 pairs of cervical cancer tissues and adjacent paired normal tissues was measured by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. The diagnostic values of serum PVT1 were evaluated by receiver operating characteristic curves analysis. RESULTS Serum PVT1 level is significantly increased in cervical cancer patients and correlated with tumor size, clinical stage, and lymph node metastasis of cervical cancer. Serum PVT1 could accurately discriminate cervical cancer patients from cervical intraepithelial neoplasia patients and healthy control subjects, and also discriminate early stage cervical cancer patients from healthy control subjects. But serum PVT1 level is not changed in breast cancer and ovarian cancer patients. Furthermore, serum PVT1 level is positively correlated with tissue PVT1 expression, and could indicate cervical cancer dynamics. CONCLUSIONS Long noncoding RNA PVT1 may be a novel noninvasive biomarker for early diagnosis of cervical cancer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Brain metastases (BM) from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are rare and are associated with a poor prognosis. The aim of this study was to analyze the clinical features and evaluate the prognostic factors of brain metastases from hepatocellular carcinoma. METHODS The clinical data of thirty-one patients with HCC and BM treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University between January 1998 and December 2013 were retrospectively reviewed. Univariate and multivariate survival analyses were performed to identify possible prognostic factors. RESULTS Thrity-one patients were diagnosed with BM from HCC, an incidence rate of 0.61%. The median age at diagnosis of brain metastases was 48.5 years. Twenty-six patients were male. The median interval from diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma to brain metastases was 14 months. The median survival after the diagnosis of BM was 10 weeks. Univariate analysis showed that treatment modality, number of brain lesions, Karnofsky performance score, recursive partitioning analysis (RPA) class, and Child-Pugh classification had a statistically significant impact on the survival. The multivariate analysis showed that the low RPA class and aggressive brain radiotherapy were positively associated with improved survival. CONCLUSION BM from HCC is rare and associated with an extremely poor prognosis. However, patients with a low RPA class may benefit from aggressive brain radiotherapy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Persistent high-risk HPV infection is a major cause of cervical cancer and E6/E7 genes and the Li gene in the HPV genome are key targets to detect high-risk HPV. This study aims to explore the relationship between cervical lesions and E6/7 by establishing a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to detect multiplex genes based on HPV EE7 genes. It is hoped that such methods will provide a more reliable method for clinical screening and the prevention of cervical cancer. METHODS Based on alignment, specific primers were designed for HPV E6/E7 genes, the sequences of which came from five5 high-risk papillomaviruses that are common in China. This enabled an E6/E7 gene detection method based on multiplex PCR to be established. E6/E7 and Li gene testing were then performed on 65 cervical cancer tissue samples. The gene copy number of HPV E6/E7 genes and the Li gene were detected from different classifications by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. RESULTS Out of the 65 cervical cancer tissue samples, 47 (72.31%) showed positive results in E6/E7 multiplex PCR, 21 (32.31%) showed positive results in the Ll gene PCR, and out of the 219 cervical exfoliate cell samples, 56 (25.57%) showed positive results in E6/E7 multiplex PCR, 21 (13.24%) showed positive results in the L1 gene PCR. There were significant differences (p < 0.05) between these two test results. Fluorescent quantitative PCR showed that the ratio of gene copy number of L1 genes and E6/E7 genes was below 1 (p < 0.05) in cervical cancer tissue, in which both the Li and E6/E7 genes coexist. CONCLUSIONS The established HPV multiplex PCR assay based on the design of E6/E7 gene is a specific and sensitive method for the detection and genotype of five high-risk HPVs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the relationship between nuclear factor (NF)-κB and vitro nature degeneration model of endplate chondrocyte in rats. METHODS Rats endplate chondrocytes were isolated and cultured in vitro.Rebulated vitro natural degeneration model and cells were divided into control group (P2 cells group), naturally passaged group (P5 cells group) and NF-κB signaling pathway inhibition group (added Bay11-7082 when the passaged to P5 cells). The changes of cellular morphology were observed by inverted phase contrast microscope, the phenotype of endplate chondrocyte were identified by toluidine blue staining, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) were observed by alcian blue staining.Type Ⅱ collagen, sry related HMG box (SOX)-9, matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)13 and aggrecan genes were detected by real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) to verify the degeneration mode.NF-κB transcriptional activity was assessed by examining cytosolic phosphorylated IκBα and nuclear phosphorylated p65 levels by Western blot. RESULTS With chondrocytes passing, the cells lost the original morphology gradually.Alcian blue stains observed EMC decreased in naturally passaged group.The leave of Type Ⅱ collagen (P5/P2=0.182, P<0.01), aggrecan (P5/P2=0.287, P<0.01) and SOX-9 (P5/P2=0.488, P<0.01) were significantly reduced, MMP13 (P5/P2=1.324, P<0.05) significantly increased.Western blot analysis showed that in P5 cells nuclear phosphorylation p65 and cytosolic levels of phosphorylated IκBα increased and Bay11-7082 treatment attenuated increase in nuclear phosphorylation p65 and blocked acidinduced increase in cytosolic levels of phosphorylated IκBα.Moreover, the leave of Type Ⅱ collagen (Bay11-7082/P5=4.173, P<0.01), aggrecan (Bay11-7082/P5=2.732, P<0.05) and SOX-9 (Bay11-7082/P5=1.567, P<0.05) significantlyincreased, MMP13 (Bay11-7082/P5=0.611, P<0.05) significantly reduced in treatment group. CONCLUSION Inhibitor NF-κB signaling pathway plays an important role in the vitro degeneration of endplate cartilage.Reasonable regulation of NF-κB signaling pathway may be a new way to prevent Intervertebral disc degeneration.

Abstract
AIM Gestational diabetes mellitus is a common complication of pregnancy. Long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFA) are essential for fetal neurodevelopment. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is the predominant n-3 LCPUFA in the brain and retina. Circulating absolute concentrations of total n-3 and n-6 LCPUFAs rise during normal pregnancy. It remains unclear whether gestational diabetes may affect the normal rise in circulating concentrations of LCPUFAs in the third trimester of pregnancy - a period of rapid fetal neurodevelopment. This study aimed to address this question. METHODS In a prospective singleton pregnancy cohort, fatty acids in fasting plasma total lipids were measured at 24-28 and 32-35 weeks of gestation in women with (n = 24) and without gestational diabetes mellitus (n = 116). Fatty acid desaturase activity indices were estimated by relevant product-to-precursor fatty acid ratios. Dietary nutrient intakes were estimated by a food frequency questionnaire. RESULTS Plasma absolute concentrations of total n-6 LCPUFAs rose significantly between 24-28 and 32-35 weeks of gestation in women with or without gestational diabetes, whereas total n-3 LCPUFAs and DHA concentrations rose significantly only in women without gestational diabetes (all P < 0.01). Delta-5 desaturase indices (20:4n-6/20:3n-6) were similar, but delta-6 desaturase indices (18:3n-6/18:2n-6) were significantly lower in women with gestational diabetes at 32-35 weeks of gestation. Dietary intakes of all fatty acids were comparable. CONCLUSION The normal rise in circulating absolute concentrations of DHA and total n-3 LCPUFAs in the third trimester of pregnancy may be compromised in gestational diabetes, probably due to impaired synthesis or mobilization rather than dietary intake difference.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Leptin has been found highly expressed in human osteoarthritis. We aimed to explore the possible effects and mechanisms of leptin on the apoptosis and autophagy of chondrocytes during osteoarthritis pathogenesis. METHODS Gene expression profile from osteoarthritis affected and preserved cartilage were downloaded from NCBI's Gene Expression Omnibus database (GSE57218). Lysyl oxidase-like 3 (LOXL3) mRNA expression in cartilage tissues and leptin concentration in joint synovial fluid (SF) was measured in samples from 45 osteoarthritis patients and 25 healthy donors by real-time PCR and radioimmunoassay, respectively. Rat osteoarthritis model was induced by anterior cruciate ligament transection (ACLT). The expression of apoptosis regulators and autophagy markers were detected by Western blot. Cell survival and cell apoptosis were identified by CCK-8 and flow cytometry, respectively. RESULTS Re-analysis on GSE57218 indicated that LOXL3 mRNA was upregulated in osteoarthritis affected cartilage. LOXL3 mRNA was upregulated in osteoarthritis patients, which was positively correlated with SF leptin concentration. Similar results were obtained in rat osteoarthritis model. Moreover, ACLT surgery led to a significant increase in the protein levels of cleaved caspase 3, and a notable decrease in the protein levels of Bcl-2, LC3 II/LC3 I and Beclin1. Silencing of LOXL3 in ACLT and leptin treated primary chondrocytes significantly inhibited cell apoptosis, and promoted cell proliferation and autophagy. Moreover, overexpression of LOXL3 remarkably inhibited autophagy of chondrocytes via activating mTORC1. CONCLUSIONS LOXL3, a downstream of leptin, stimulated the apoptosis, but inhibited the autophagy of chondrocytes. LOXL3 is a potential therapy target for osteoarthritis.

Abstract
High molecular weight FGF2 transgenic mice (HMWTg) phenocopy the Hyp mouse, homolog of human X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets with phosphate wasting and abnormal fibroblast growth factor (FGF23), fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR), Klotho and mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPK) signaling in kidney. In this study, we assessed whether short-term (24 h) in vivo administration of FGF23 neutralizing antibody (FGF23Ab) could rescue hypophosphatemia and impaired FGFR signaling in kidneys of HMWTg male mice. Bone mineral density and bone mineral content in 1-month-old HMWTg mice were significantly reduced compared with Control/VectorTg mice. Serum FGF23 was significantly increased in HMWTg compared with VectorTg. Serum phosphate was significantly reduced in HMWTg and was rescued by FGF23Ab. Serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) was significantly increased in HMWTg but was not reduced by FGF23Ab. 1, 25(OH)2 D was inappropriately normal in serum of HMWTg and was significantly increased in both Vector and HMWTg by FGF23Ab. Analysis of HMWTg kidneys revealed significantly increased mRNA expression of the FGF23 co-receptor Klotho, transcription factor mRNAs for early growth response-1 transcription factor (Egr-1), and c-fos were all significantly decreased by FGF23Ab. A significant reduction in the phosphate transporter Npt2a mRNA was also observed in HMWTg kidneys, which was increased by FGF23Ab. FGF23Ab reduced p-FGFR1, p-FGFR3, KLOTHO, p-ERK1/2, C-FOS, and increased NPT2A protein in HMWTg kidneys. We conclude that FGF23 blockade rescued hypophosphatemia by regulating FGF23/FGFR downstream signaling in HMWTg kidneys. Abstract
Objective:To assess the guiding role of preoperative visual analog scale(VAS) symptom scores in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS) during perioperative period.Method:The patients with CRS undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery were divided into experimental group and control group according to doctor group.Preoperative VAS symptom scores which including the overall symptom score and every single symptom scores were assessed. Patients with symptom(nasal congestion, nasal discharge, dizziness or headache, hypoamia or anosmia, rhinocnesmus, sneeze) scores more than 5 points were taken corresponding appropriate strategies in experimental group, but conventional empirical measures in control group during perioperative period.Nasal endoscopic surgeries were performed under local or general anesthesia after preoperative preparation. Postoperative followup were performed in six months and one year for the overall symptom and each symptom scores in both groups. SPSS17.0 was used for statistical analysis.Result:There was no statistical difference in general condition, overall symptom score and every symptom scores before operation between experimental group(120 cases) and control group(82 cases) (P >0.05). At the three time points (preoperative, six months, one year after operation), significant differences were found in the two groups about VAS overall symptom score (P <0.05). Except hypoamia, VAS for the other symptoms in different postoperative time showed statistical significance (P <0.05).Conclusion:Preoperative VAS symptom score can be used not only in the evaluation of severity and treatment effect,but also in the guiding of perioperative treatment for CRS, which is worthy of using widely in clinic.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the expression and its diagnostic significance of neutrophil surface adhesion molecules including CD11b, CD15 and CD62L after renal transplantation in recipients with cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. METHODS Blood samples were collected from 142 kidney transplant recipients, including 95 males and 47 females, who received allogeneic renal transplantation between September 2009 and January 2015 in 309th Hospital of the PLA. Healthy volunteers (22 males and 9 females) were recruited from physical examination center in 309th Hospital of the PLA from September 2009 to January 2015 as healthy control group. Renal transplant recipients were divided into high active CMV infection group, active CMV infection group and CMV negative control group according to CMV-pp65 antigen detection. Neutrophil surface adhesion molecules CD11b, CD15 and CD62L were detected by flow cytometry and their mean fluorescence intensity compared among the groups. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of CD11b, CD15 and CD62L in detecting active infection in renal transplant recipients were made. RESULTS The mean fluorescence intensity of CD15 in high active CMV infection group(n=17) and active CMV infection group(n=65)were 776.31±89.53 and 554.39±67.89, respectively, with significant differences compared with CMV negative control group (n=60, 334.92±44.69) and healthy control group (n=31, 310.56±39.67) (all P<0.05); the expression proportions of CD11b and CD62L in high active CMV infection group and were 42.31%±6.11% and 40.35%±6.47%, respectively, with significant differences compared with active CMV infection group(62.45%±5.67% and 65.65%±5.33%), CMV negative control group(70.74%±6.55% and 70.37%±6.71%) and healthy control group(72.52%±6.48% and 72.43%±6.51%) (all P<0.05). The optimal cut-off values of CD11b and CD62L in diagnosing active CMV infection group were 56.61% and 44.35%, respectively, with the sensitivity being both 100.00%, the specificity being 76.67% and 58.06% respectively, and the area under the curve (AUC) being 0.851 and 0.628 respectively; the optimal cut-off values of CD11b and CD62L in diagnosing high active CMV infection group were 66.57% and 69.56% respectively, with the sensitivity being 81.54% and 87.69% respectively, the specificity being 100.00% and 98.33% respectively, and the AUC being 1.000 and 0.991 respectively; the optimal cut-off values of mean fluorescence intensity of CD15 in diagnosing high active CMV infection group and active CMV infection group were 542.71 and 408.03 respectively, the sensitivity in the two groups being 100.00% and 98.46% respectively, the specificity being both 100.00%, and the AUC being 1.000 and 0.999 respectively. CONCLUSIONS Neutrophils CD15 expression may be up-regulated in renal transplantation recipients with CMV infection, while neutrophils CD11b and CD62L expressions are down-regulated. Such changes in CD15, CD11b and CD62L expression can be used as a basis for laboratory diagnosis of active CMV infection.
