Abstract
Here, we examine the concept of frequency domain sensing with solution-gated graphene field-effect transistors, where a sine wave of primary frequency (1f) was applied at the gate and modulation of the power spectral density (PSD) of the drain-source current at 1f, 2f, and 3f was examined as the salt in the gate electrolyte was switched from KCl to CaCl2, and their concentrations were varied. The PSD at 1f, 2f, and 3f increased with the concentration of KCl or CaCl2, with the PSD at 1f being the most sensitive. We further correlated these changes to the shift in Dirac point. Switching the graphene substrate from oxide to hexagonal boron nitride, led to an improved device-to-device reproducibility and a significant reduction of noise, which translated to a higher signal-to-noise ratio and resolution in sensing salt concentrations. The signal-to-noise ratio at 1f was found to be a logarithmic function of KCl or CaCl2 concentration in the 0.1 to 1000 mM range.

Abstract
Chemoimmunotherapy by systemic administration of individual regimens suffers from inconsistent pharmacokinetics profiles, low tumor specificity, and severe side effects. Despite promising nanoparticle-based codelivery approaches in therapeutics, the pathophysiological barriers of solid tumors are a hurdle for tumor accumulation and deep penetration of the drug-loaded nanoparticles. A light-inducible nanocargo (LINC) for immunotherapy is reported. LINC is composed of a reduction-responsive heterodimer of photosensitizer pheophorbide A (PPa) and indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO-1) inhibitor, i.e., NLG919, and a light-activatable prodrug of oxaliplatin (OXA). LINC administrated through intravenous injection is passively accumulated at the tumor site to generate near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence signal. Under fluorescence imaging guidance, the first-wave of NIR laser irradiation induce reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, trigger cleavage of the polyethylene glycol (PEG) corona, and thus promote tumor retention and deep penetration of LINC. When exposed to the second-wave NIR laser illumination, LINC efficiently elicits the immune response and promotes intratumoral infiltration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Furthermore, NLG919 delivered by LINC reverses the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment by suppressing IDO-1 activity. Chemoimmunotherapy with LINC inhibit the tumor growth, lung metastasis, and tumor recurrence. The light-inducible self-amplification strategy for improved drug delivery and immunotherapy shows potential.

Abstract
Developing efficient catalysts with a stable optimal crystalline facet is highly promising yet challenging for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS). Here, we demonstrate a coating strategy to fabricate a stable optimal cobalt-facet catalyst. The catalyst (Co@C-SiO2) is composed of a single crystalline core, a wrapped carbon layer, and an amorphous silica shell. The moderate metal-support interaction endowed by carbon, combining the confined effect of the silica shell, protects and maintains the single-crystal structure and optimal crystalline facet of the core, that is, Co(10-11). Due to the unique core-shell nanostructure and optimal cobalt facets, our Co@C-SiO2 catalyst shows a remarkable low methane selectivity (5.3%), high activity (TOF = 4.0 × 10-2 s-1), C5+ selectivity (88.9%), and more importantly, excellent stability (TOS = 168 h) in FTS.

Abstract
The aim of the study is to investigate plasma miR-21 for a possible therapeutic effect determination marker in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Plasma samples are obtained from 86 HNSCC patients and 29 non-cancer volunteers who had been treated at Mie University Hospital between May 2015 and December 2016, and plasma miR-21 expression was measured using real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. In addition, plasma miR-21 level of advanced HNSCC patients including 22 non-recurrent cases and 11 recurrent cases before and after treatment was analyzed using a longitudinal design. Plasma miR-21 expression in 86 HNSCC patients was obviously higher than in 29 control patients (P < 0.0001). The area under the curve (AUC) for plasma miR-21 was 0.756 (95% confidence interval: 0.661-0.851). Furthermore, our longitudinal study of plasma miR-21 showed that the expression level of plasma miR-21 was significantly reduced at the time point of 2 months after treatment in case of no recurrence. On the other hand, plasma miR-21 was not decreased after treatment in case of 10 patients who had developed recurrences during the follow-up period. This study may provide new insights into the role of plasma miR-21 as a biomarker for HNSCC, and plasma miR-21 would be useful for early detection of tumor recurrence after operation or chemoradiotherapy.

Abstract
Dual-channel spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) is one of the effective methods for improving imaging depth and imaging speed. In this paper, we design a dual-channel SD-OCT system based on a single spectrometer that can operate in two modes: (1) Increasing imaging speed and (2) expanding imaging depth. An optical path offset is preintroduced between the two channels to separate the two-channel data. However, this offset increases the requirement for the spectral resolution of the spectrometer in mode (1), so compressive sensing (CS) technology is used herein to overcome this problem. Consequently, in mode (1), when the spectral resolution of the spectrometer is the same as that used in the single-channel system, we use a dual-channel SD-OCT system combined with CS technology to double the imaging speed. In mode (2), when the spectral resolution of the spectrometer is only half of that used in a single-channel system, the imaging depth can be nearly doubled. We demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the method proposed in this work by imaging a mirror, a fish fin, a fish eye, and an onion.

Abstract
AIMS The purpose of this experiment was to study the bacterial diversity and predominance of spoilage bacteria in chicken skin at different thermal treatment temperatures (60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120°C). METHOD AND RESULTS Bacteria in chicken skin was collected, then propidium monoazide treatment to remove the DNA of dead cell, total DNA was extracted by Tiandz Bacterial DNA Kit, and investigated by high-throughput sequencing of the v3/v4 regions of the 16S rDNA gene. A total of 796 008 high-quality bacterial sequences were obtained for assessing the microbial diversity of chicken skin from seven thermal treatment group and control group. The results showed that the bacterial diversity in chicken skin at 90°C was lowest. And Acinetobacter (25·88%), Clostridium (20·70%), Bacteroides (13·93%) and Myroides (13·13%) were the main flora at 25°C; The Clostridium was dominant genus of the samples heat-treated by 60, 70, 80 and 90°C, the proportion of this genus were up to 64·86, 77·42, 52·22 and 87·30% respectively. The Bacillus was the main flora of the samples heat-treated by 100, 110 and 120°C, and the relative percentages were 39·44, 79·61 and 45·96% respectively. In addition, high-temperature-resistant Serratia was found in chicken skin. CONCLUSIONS The study revealed that the relationship between thermal treatment temperature and bacterial diversity and dominant spoilage bacteria in chicken skin, which had a strong guiding significance for the control and prediction of micro-organisms in foods. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY The results of this paper could provide a theoretical basis for meat products containing chicken skin, including the safe use of chicken skin, determination of sterilization process parameters and selection of preservatives for compounding, which has strong practicality in China.

Abstract
Objective Artificial hip dislocation is one of the most serious complications following total hip replacement. This study was performed to assess articular capsule repair in primary total hip replacement with the anterolateral approach (Watson-Jones incision) and its effect on postoperative dislocation. Methods Patients who underwent primary total hip replacement by the anterolateral approach in Tongren Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from June 2007 to June 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into the repair and dissection groups based on the articular capsule repair status during surgery. Postoperative dislocation rates were compared between the two groups using the chi-squared test. Results The repair and dissection groups comprised 137 and 248 patients, respectively. All patients were followed up for 6 months to 5 years (average, 3.75 years). The mean age, sex, disease composition, and follow-up time were not significantly different between the two groups. Early postoperative dislocation occurred in 1 hip (0.7%) in the repair group and 13 hips (5.2%) in the dissection group. Conclusions During the anterolateral approach for primary total hip replacement, articular capsule repair may reduce the occurrence of early postoperative dislocation of the hip joint.

Abstract
Terminthia paniculata (Sanyeqi) is widely used for treating inflammation and rheumatic arthritis in the folk areas of Yunnan province, China. Its total extract was first revealed with xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitory activity in vitro and anti-hyperuricemic effect in vivo. Bioassay-guided separation on Fr. A5 yielded six chalcone-flavonone heterodimers, termipaniculatones A-F. Their structures were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic analyses involving HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR, UV, IR and [α]D, and the absolute configuration of termipaniculatone F was verified by ECD calculation. Termipaniculatones A and E showed obvious XO inhibitory activity with IC50 values of 55.6 and 89.5 μM, respectively, which took effects via a mix-type mode. A molecular modeling study revealed that termipaniculatone A was well located into the active site of XO by interacting with Glu802, Arg880, Thr1010 and Val1011 residues. Termipaniculatone A showed anti-hyperuricemic effects by decreasing serum uric acid levels and inhibiting XO activity in both serum and liver on potassium oxonate (PO)-induced hyperuricemia mice, and anti-inflammatory activity through alleviating paw swelling on monosodium urate (MSU)-induced mice, at the concentration of 20 mg/kg. This is the first time to reveal the anti-hyperuricemic and anti-acute gouty arthritis potency of T. paniculata and the characteristic biflavonoids as active constituents, which provides valuable information for searching new XO inhibitors from natural sources.

Abstract
The emerging porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) has been reported in Chinese swine herds since 2017. We performed a nationwide investigation on the prevalence of PCV3 in pig breeding farms and slaughterhouses in China. A total of 4,040 tonsil samples were collected from 89 farms in 25 provinces, and 1,419 lymph node samples were collected from 50 slaughterhouses in 27 provinces. The PCR results showed that in pig breeding farms, the positive rate was 41.6% (37/89) at the farm level and 5.0% (201/4040) at the individual level. In the slaughterhouses, the positive rate was 62.0% (31/50) at the farm level and 8.0% (114/1419) at the individual level. The PCR-positive samples were further sequenced, and 19 new PCV3 isolates were identified. The complete genomes of the 19 virus isolates showed 97.4%-99.7% nucleotide identity with other PCV3 isolates. The phylogenetic analysis revealed that the 19 isolates were divided into PCV3a and PCV3b genotype clusters based on the PCV3 complete genome sequences. This study indicated that PCV3 has spread extensively in both pig breeding farms and slaughterhouses. The positive rate of PCV3 was higher in eastern China compared to other regions in China. Furthermore, this study will help us understand the prevalence and genetic variation of PCV3 in Chinese swine herds.

Abstract
This paper presents an analog interface application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for a capacitive angle encoder, which is widely used in control machine systems. The encoder consists of two parts: a sensitive structure and analog readout circuit. To realize miniaturization, low power consumption, and easy integration, an analog interface circuit including a DC capacitance elimination array and switch synchronous demodulation module was designed. The DC capacitance elimination array allows the measurement circuit to achieve a very high capacitance to voltage conversion ratio at a low supply voltage. Further, the switch synchronous demodulation module effectively removes the carrier signal and greatly reduces the sampling rate requirement of the analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ASIC was designed and fabricated with standard 0.18 µm CMOS processing technology and integrated with the sensitive structure. An experiment was conducted to test and characterize the performance of the proposed analog interface circuit. The encoder measurement results showed a resolution of 0.01°, power consumption of 20 mW, and accuracy over the full absolute range of 0.1°, which indicates the great potential of the encoder for application in control machine systems.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Dermatomyositis (DM) and polymyositis (PM) make up the largest group of potentially treatable myopathies and require early diagnosis. This study investigates whether the edema of thigh muscles in DM/PM can be quantitatively assessed by a novel accelerated T2 mapping technique-GRAPPATINI. METHODS Three conventional MR sequences and GRAPPATINI accelerated T2 mapping of bilateral thighs from 20 patients (7 DM and 13 PM) and 10 healthy volunteers were prospectively carried out on a 3 T MR scanner. Afterwards, T2 values of 477 thigh muscles from the patients and the healthy controls were manually measured. In addition, the correlations between T2 values and serum muscle enzymes in patients were also analyzed. RESULTS The new GRAPPATINI technique made quantitative T2 mapping of bilateral thighs feasible with a scanning time of only 2 min 18 s. Moreover, GRAPPATINI-generated T2 values of muscles from patients were markedly higher than those from healthy subjects (p < 0.001). GRAPPATINI accelerated T2 mapping appeared a more sensitive technique in that some DM/PM muscles appearing normal per conventional MRI had increased T2 relaxation time. Furthermore, GRAPPATINI-generated T2 values of DM/PM thigh muscles positively correlated with serum enzyme levels (p < 0.001), which reflected the severity of myopathy. CONCLUSION GRAPPATINI can significantly shorten acquisition time of T2 mapping and may potentially be applied clinically in DM and PM. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE GRAPPATINI acceleration makes T2 mapping feasible in clinical practice in providing quantitative information regarding thigh muscle inflammation in DM and PM.

Abstract
The similarities and differences between trigger points of myalgia and acupoints were explored. Nodules could be detected by B-ultrasound at trigger points of myalgia, but not acupoints. In clinical symptoms, the referred pain pathway of trigger points of myalgia is similar with the pathway of acupuncture meridian. Therefore, the location of trigger points of myalgia should take referred pain as pathway, which is similar with locating acupoints as meridian. Acupuncture at trigger points of myalgia takes jumping feeling as criterion, while acupuncture at acupoints are mainly based on acid swelling and numbness. From clinical observation to basic experimental research, a lot of pathophysiological evidence is provided for trigger point of myalgia. It is believed that the trigger point of myalgia might be the precise acupoint in modern scientific research, and the meridian is the synthesis of the mechanics of nerve, blood vessel and fascia. Although acupuncture and dry needling are different in theory, but the scientific foundation of TCM and western medicine is coherent.

Abstract
Human inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and experimental colitis models in mice are associated with shifts in gut microbiota composition, and several probiotics are widely used to improve gastrointestinal health. Here, we investigated whether the probiotic Bacillus licheniformis Zhengchangsheng® (BL) ameliorates dextran sulphate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis through alteration of the gut microbiota. Experimental colitis was induced in BALB/C mice by dissolving 3% DSS in their drinking water for 7 days, which were gavaged with 0.2 ml phosphate-buffered saline or BL (3×107 cfu/ml) once a day. Administration of BL attenuated several effects of DSS-induced colitis, including weight loss, increased disease activity index, and disrupted intestinal barrier integrity. In addition, BL mitigated the reduction in faecal microbiota richness in DSS treated mice. Interestingly, BL was found to reduce the elevated circulating endotoxin level in mice with colitis by modulating the microbial composition of the microbiota, and this was highly associated with a proportional decrease in gut Bacteroidetes. Our results demonstrate that BL can attenuate DSS-induced colitis and provide valuable insight into microbiota interactions during IBD.

Abstract
The measurement results of a single-excitation petal-shaped capacitive encoder show strong periodic characteristics for nonlinear errors. This paper presents the analysis of periodic nonlinear errors in a single-excitation petal-shaped encoder in terms of three main aspects—sensitive structure processing error, circuit demodulation error, and installation error. Analytical and simulation results confirm that the first-, second-, and fourth-periodic electrical errors are caused by the misalignment of circuit parameters, non-uniform segmentation of the processing error, and cross interference of the electric field, respectively. Further experimental investigation reveals that the mechanical periodic error is caused by installation misalignment. Based on these analytical, simulation, and experimental results, the design of the capacitive encoder was optimized and a method based on harmonic components was applied to compensate the periodic nonlinear error of the encoder. Measurement results shows that the prototype which has 180 petal-shaped numbers can achieve a reduction of periodic nonlinear errors to less than 0.02° and its accuracy can be improved to 0.0006° after compensation over the full measurement range.

Abstract
Plasmonic cluster arrays have demonstrated rich physics in topological photonics, but they are seriously affected by the material loss and limited by the requirement of high-precision machining. Here, we propose a kind of ultra-thin metaparticle arrays which can mimic the coupled localized plasmonic resonances at lower frequency ranges and so that can overcome the loss and fabrication problems in real metal plasmonic systems. The metaparticle is a metallic disk with circuitous grooves that can support both spoof electric and magnetic localized resonances, and these resonances can be pushed to a subwavelength region through tuning the geometric parameters. In virtue of the highly field confinement of these localized resonances, it is thought to be an ideal experimental platform to be an analogy with various near-field interactions in topological materials. As a first proof-of-concept study to show this feasibility, the subwavelength topological edge states at the zigzag metaparticle chain boundaries are numerically and experimentally demonstrated at microwave ranges. Moreover, the subwavelength topological edge states in this zigzag chain can be excited simply by the plane wave incidence, and the edge modes at two ends can be selectively excited by controlling the polarization direction. Therefore, this kind of metaparticle array not only provides an ideal platform to experimentally study various near-filed interaction dominated topological systems but may also find massive potential applications.
