Abstract
Efficient C4-arylation and domino C4-arylation/3,2-carbonyl migration of indoles have been developed. The former route enables C4-arylation in a highly efficient and mild manner and the latter route provides an alternative straightforward protocol for synthesis of C2/C4 disubstituted indoles. The mechanism studies imply that the different reaction pathways were tuned by the distinct acid additives, which led to either the Pd(i)-Pd(ii) pathway or Pd(ii) catalysis.

Abstract
Two classes of new catalytic spiroannulation-fluormethylfunctionaliztions of para-quinone methide (p-QM)-containing 1,5-enynes have been established under redox-neutral conditions. Palladium-catalyzed spiroannulation-iododifluoromethylation with ethyl difluoroiodoacetate oriented completely stereoselective access to (Z)-spiroindenes and the latter included copper-catalyzed three-component spiroannulation-cyanotrifluoromethylation starting from Togni's reagent and trimethylsilanecarbonitrile (TMSCN). Both reaction pathways involve fluoroalkyl radical-triggered 1,6-addition/5-exo-dig annulation/metal radical cross-coupling/reductive elimination sequence, providing practical and stereoselective protocols for rapidly constructing cyclohexadienone-containing spiroindenes with generally good yields.

Abstract
Difluoroisoxazolacetophenone (DFIO) is developed as a new difluoroalkylation reagent that can be easily prepared from inexpensive starting materials. In situ remote C-C bond cleavage of DFIO affords γ,γ-difluoroisoxazole nitronate that undergoes base-catalyzed vinylogous nitroaldol additions to isatins, benzothiophene-2,3-dione, unsaturated-α-ketoesters, and cyclic 1,2-diketones. This organocatalytic debenzoate vinylogous nitroaldol reaction provides a new and mild approach for the preparation of various difluoroisoxazole-substituted 3-hydroxy-2-oxindoles.

A visible
light induced palladium-catalyzed fluoroalkylation method
was developed. The Heck-type alkyl coupling reaction enables the introduction
of trifluoroethyl, difluoroethyl and other fluoroalkyl fragment into
styrenes under mild reaction conditions without the use of additional
photosensitizers and ensures access to fluoroalkylated olefins on
a broad scale.

Abstract
We report a method for labeling arylvinyltrifluoromethanes with carbon-11 (t1/2 = 20.4 min) as representatives of a new radiolabeled chemotype that has potential for developing radiotracers for biomedical imaging with positron emission tomography. Treatment of (E)-arylvinyl(phenyl)iodonium tosylates (1a-1k) with [11C[CuCF3 gave the corresponding [11C]arylvinyltrifluoromethanes ([11C]2a-[11C]2k) in high radiochemical yields (90-97%) under rapid (2 min) and mild (60 °C) conditions.

Abstract
Here, we describe a mild, catalyst-free and operationally-simple strategy for the direct fluoroalkylation of olefins driven by the photochemical activity of an electron donor−acceptor (EDA) complex between DMA and fluoroalkyl iodides. The significant advantages of this photochemical transformation are high efficiency, excellent functional group tolerance, and synthetic simplicity, thus providing a facile route for further application in pharmaceuticals and life sciences.

Abstract
We report herein a facile synthetic method for converting unactivated (hetero)aryl electrophiles into β-fluoroethylated (hetero)arenes via nickel-catalyzed reductive cross-couplings. This coupling reaction features the involvement of FCH2 CH2 radical intermediate rather than β-fluoroethyl manganese species which provides effective solutions to the problematic β-fluoride side eliminations. The practical value of this protocol is further demonstrated by the late-stage modification of several complex ArCl or ArOH-derived bioactive molecules.

Abstract
A series of PdCo alloy nanocluster (NC) catalysts x-PdCor/Co(Mg or Ni)Al-LDH (x: Pd loading, r: Co/Pd molar ratio) were synthesized by immobilizing ultrafine PdCor-PVP NCs on flower-like layered double hydroxide (LDH) supports. The sizes of PdCo alloy NCs of the catalysts can be elaborately tuned in ∼1.6-3.2 nm by both Co/Pd ratios and Pd loadings, and the PdCo NCs are mainly dispersed on the edge sites of LDH nanosheets upon a flower-like morphology. The PdCo bimetallic catalysts 0.81-PdCo0.10/MgAl-LDH (2.6 ± 0.6 nm), 0.86-PdCo0.28/MgAl-LDH (2.3 ± 0.7 nm) and 0.79-PdCo0.54/MgAl-LDH (3.2 ± 0.9 nm) exhibit enhanced activity compared with the monometallic Pd catalyst for Heck coupling of iodobenzene with styrene. Particularly, 0.86-PdCo0.28/MgAl-LDH shows the highest activity, which can be attributed to its smallest PdCo0.28 alloy NCs, and the maximum electron density of the Pd0 center resulted from the electron transfer from Co and the strongest PdCo0.28 NCs - LDH synergistic effect. 0.67-PdCo0.28/CoAl-LDH shows much better activity than those of 0.64-PdCo0.28/NiAl-LDH and 0.86-PdCo0.28/MgAl-LDH. The lowest Pd loading sample 0.01-PdCo0.28/CoAl-LDH (1.6 ± 0.4 nm) shows an ultrahigh turnover frequency of 163 000 h-1 (Pd: 1.9 × 10-5 mol%), which is the highest value obtained so far. Meanwhile, the catalyst shows excellent adaptability for the substrates and can be reused for 12 runs without significant loss of activity. The present work may provide a new idea for the simple and green synthesis of ultrafine Pd-based non-noble bimetallic catalysts for varied catalytic processes.

Abstract
Visible light-mediated cascade remote oxyfluoroalkylation of alkenes under mild conditions is developed for the first time. The key point of this transformation is the incorporation of alkene fluoroalkylation-initiated remote benzyl C-H bond activation via a 1,5-H shift in a highly controlled site-selective manner and Kornblum reaction with dimethyl sulfoxide as the oxidant. With this method, a broad array of fluoroalkyl groups were introduced into a double bond to produce 1,6-fluoroalkylated ketones at room temperature.

Abstract
By employing tert-butyl nitrite as both nitrogen source and oxidant, the trifluoromethyloximation of alkenes proceeds smoothly in a free-radical process. The developed difunctionalization reaction enables practical and efficient synthesis of a wide range of α-CF3 ketoximes in moderate yields with excellent regioselectivity. This method features the use of readily available and stable alkenes as substrates and inexpensive CF3 SO2 Na as a CF3 reagent, no involvement of transition metals or external oxidant, and room-temperature conditions. Moreover, a scale-up of the reaction, further transformation of the products into various valuable CF3 -containing compounds, and removal of the trifluoromethyl group are readily achieved.
