Abstract
The double [3 + 2]-cycloadditions between nitrile oxides and allenoates have been achieved. In the presence of DABCO combined with Et3N, 2-substituted buta-2,3-dienoates reacted with oxime chlorides to afford spirobiisoxazolines in 55-90% yields via the double 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. Notably, the construction of double isoxazoline moieties and two chiral centers including a spiro carbon center was achieved.

Abstract
An efficient and practical phosphine-catalyzed vicinal difunctionalization of β-fluoroalkyl α,β-enones with TMSN3 has been developed. Using dppb as the catalyst, the reaction worked efficiently to yield various β-amino α-diazocarbonyl compounds in high yields (up to 94 %). This work marks the first efficient construction of α-diazocarbonyl compounds by phosphine catalysis. Meanwhile, the asymmetric variant induced by the nucleophilic bifunctional phosphine P4 led to various chiral fluoroalkylated β-amino α-diazocarbonyl compounds in high yields and enantioselectivity. NMR and ESI-MS studies support the existence of the key reaction intermediates. In contrast, β-azide carbonyl compounds would be furnished in good yields from β-fluoroalkylated β,β-disubstituted enones.

Abstract
The hallmark of nucleophilic phosphine catalysis is the initial nucleophilic addition of a phosphine to an electrophilic starting material, producing a reactive zwitterionic intermediate, generally under mild conditions. In this Review, we classify nucleophilic phosphine catalysis reactions in terms of their electrophilic components. In the majority of cases, these electrophiles possess carbon-carbon multiple bonds: alkenes (section 2), allenes (section 3), alkynes (section 4), and Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) alcohol derivatives (MBHADs; section 5). Within each of these sections, the reactions are compiled based on the nature of the second starting material-nucleophiles, dinucleophiles, electrophiles, and electrophile-nucleophiles. Nucleophilic phosphine catalysis reactions that occur via the initial addition to starting materials that do not possess carbon-carbon multiple bonds are collated in section 6. Although not catalytic in the phosphine, the formation of ylides through the nucleophilic addition of phosphines to carbon-carbon multiple bond-containing compounds is intimately related to the catalysis and is discussed in section 7. Finally, section 8 compiles miscellaneous topics, including annulations of the Hüisgen zwitterion, phosphine-mediated reductions, iminophosphorane organocatalysis, and catalytic variants of classical phosphine oxide-generating reactions.

Abstract
A straightforward phosphine-catalyzed formal [4+2] annulation between α-branched allenoates and arylidene azlactones has been developed to access highly functionalized spirocyclohexenes. This cyclization favors the γ-addition of the phosphine-activated allenoates over a β'-addition pathway. Detailed computational studies support the proposed mechanism and provide a reasonable explanation for the observed regioselectivity and the noted effect of the catalyst.

Abstract
An asymmetric strategy for the construction of chiral sulfur-containing spirooxindole-fused heterocycles was achieved via a rhodium(II)/chiral phosphoric acid-cocatalyzed reaction between 2-mercaptophenyl ketones and 3-diazooxindoles. With this method, a series of spirooxindole-thiaindan derivatives bearing two contiguous quaternary carbon stereogenic centers were obtained in high yields with high diastereoselectivities and high-to-excellent enantioselectivities.

Abstract
We have prepared a previously unreported family of P-stereogenic [2.2.1] bicyclic chiral phosphines through straightforward syntheses starting from the natural product carvone. This design rationale prompted the development of an unforeseen C-dealkenylation reaction. We have applied these organocatalysts in the asymmetric syntheses of a bevy of pyrrolines, obtained in high yields and enantioselectivities, including a biologically active small molecule, efsevin.

Abstract
The first phosphine-catalyzed [5+1] annulation of enones with N-sulfonylimines works efficiently to give tetrahydropyridines.
Phosphine-catalyzed [5+1] annulation of δ-sulfonamido-substituted enones with N-sulfonylimines for the synthesis of 1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridines is developed. The reaction proceeds smoothly under mild reaction conditions to give the annulation products in moderate to excellent yields. Mechanistic exploration of this new annulation shows that the δ-sulfonamido-substituted enone and the N-sulfonylimine serve as C5 and C1 synthons to furnish the annulation, respectively. Using chiral phosphine as the catalyst, an asymmetric variant of the model reaction gave the chiral product in up to 73% ee.

Abstract
A C1-symmetric N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-catalysed activation of isatin-derived enals under oxidative conditions was achieved. The in situ generated α,β-unsaturated acyl azolium species was efficiently trapped by 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds via a Michael addition/spiroannualtion cascade, delivering a series of synthetically important spirooxindole δ-lactones with up to 96% enantioselectivity. A NHC-catalysed spiroannulation of isatin-derived enals and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds has been developed, enabling enantioselective synthesis of synthetically important spirooxindole δ-lactones.![]()

Abstract
A novel chiral biamide-phosphine multifunctional catalyst has been developed that mediates the asymmetric intermolecular Michael addition of β-carbonyl esters to β-trifluoromethyl enones and 3-aroyl acrylates in the presence of competing methyl acrylate and the inorganic base. This method provides a facile access to structurally diverse trifluoromethyl and quaternary stereogenic centers with excellent enantioselectivity (up to 99% ee) and good diastereoselectivity (up to 13:1 dr). The addition of the inorganic base (K3PO4) does not cause the background racemic reaction and enhances the reactivity by serving as a co-catalyst.

Abstract
The application potential of primary amine catalysts in the context of Mannich reactions of aldehydes with ketimines is exemplified by isatin-derived ketimines and cyclic trifluoromethyl ketimines. Primary amine catalysts exhibit either unusual stereoselectivity or reactivity, which is not observable with secondary amine catalysts. Moreover, reversal of diastereofacial selectivity between primary and secondary amine catalysts is disclosed. These new reactions provide useful methods for the syntheses of chiral 3-substituted 3-amino-2-oxindoles and dihydroquinazolinones bearing a trifluoromethylated quaternary stereocenter. The synthetic utility of the reactions is demonstrated through the formal synthesis of AG-041R and DPC 083 and the total synthesis of (-)-psychotriasine.

Abstract
Catalyst-controlled regiodivergent [3 + 2] annulations of aurones and allenoates have been developed. When a dipeptide phosphine catalyst with an l-d- configuration was employed, α-selective [3 + 2] annulation products could be obtained with good regioselectivities and enantioselectivities. With the employment of l-l- dipeptide phosphines, γ-selective annulation products could be selectively obtained with excellent enantioselectivities. By simply tuning the catalyst configurations, a wide range of α-selective or γ-selective spirocyclic benzofuranones with either aryl or alkyl substitutions could be readily prepared. DFT calculations suggest that the conformation of the dipeptide phosphines influences the hydrogen bonding interactions or the distortion energy, resulting in delicate energy differentiation in the transition states, and accounting for the observed regioselectivity.
