A Binuclear Cadmium(II) Cluster Based on π···π Stacking and Halogen···Halogen Interactions: Synthesis, Crystal Analysis and Fluorescent Properties

A (4,4)-connected zinc(II) coordination polymer constructed with the flexible 2-carboxy phenoxyacetate ligand: synthesis, conformation alteration and fluorescent properties

A new binary ZnII coordination polymer, [Zn(2-cpa)(H2O)] n (2D-Zn) has been prepared by a 120 °C hydrothermal reaction of zinc(II) sulfate heptahydrate and 2-carboxy phenoxyacetic acid (2-H2cpa) in the presence of potassium hydroxide. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the ZnII ion is located in a deformed ZnO6 octahedron bonded by one water and three 2-carboxy phenoxyacetate (2-cpa) ligands. The 2-cpa exhibits pentadentate double bridging chelate-μ 3 coordination mode and connects adjacent ZnII ions to generate a corrugated (4,4)-connected layer structure. The structures, conformation of 2-cpa and photoluminescence spectra for 2D-Zn have been carefully analyzed and compared with its two closely related compounds ̶ 1D [Zn(2-cpa)(H2O)] n (1D-Zn) and mononuclear [Zn(2-cpa)(H2O)3] (0D-Zn). The results showed that the conformation of 2-cpa in 2D-Zn has the maximum alteration and the corresponding fluorescence emission peak of 2D-Zn has the largest red-shift of 62 nm compared with that of free 2-H2cpa.

A Mn(II)-based coordination polymer: Treatment activity on cerebral infarction by reducing inflammatory response via regulating hs-CRP expression

A new Mn(II)-based metal–organic coordination polymer (CP), [Mn(DCTA)(L)(H2O)2]·(H2O) (1), was synthesized by self-assembly of Mn(OAc)2·4H2O with 1,4-bis(benzimidazol-1-ylmethyl)-benzene (L) and 2,5-dimercaptoterephthalic acid (H2DCTA). Furthermore, a refluxing treatment method was used to prepare the nanostructure 1 with good size distribution. Furthermore, the treatment effect of nano 1 on cerebral infarction was evaluated. Firstly, the real time RT-PCR was performed and the relative expression levels of the hs-CRP in human brain microvascular endothelial cell (HBMEC) was measured. Next, the content of the interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-18 (IL-18) released by the HBMEC was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection kit.

A new thermostable Cu(II) coordination polymer: photocatalytic activity and application values on diabetes

A Cu(II) coordination polymer with the composition of [Cu₂(L)₂(4,4'-bipy)₂]_n·2 n(ClO₄) (1, HL = 4-methyl-L-phenylalanine and 4,4'-bipy is 4,4'-bipyridine), was successfully obtained by the reaction of the mixed ligand of HL and 4,4'-bipy with Cu(ClO₄)₂ · 6H₂O under solvothermal condition. The as-synthesized compound not only has high thermal stability until 275°C but also excellent photocatalytic activity for the methyl blue solution degradation under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. Furthermore, the compound's treatment activity on the diabetes was determined and its relevant mechanism was also studied. The cytotoxicity or hemolysis toxicity (HC50) of the synthesized compound was also evaluated in this research.

Two Metal Complexes: Selective Detection of Fe3+ Ion and Promotion Activity on Mesenchymal Stem Cells Differentiate Into Vascular Endothelial Cells

With the aid of 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpee), a nitrogen-donor ligand and 1,3,5-tris(carboxymethoxy)benzene (H3TCMB), a tripodal ether-connector tricarboxylate ligand, two novel transition metal coordination polymers (CPs) have been synthesized via the reaction of Zn(NO3)2·6H2O or Cu(NO3)2·3H2O with the ligands of H3TCMB and bpee ligands with similar reactions under slightly distinct temperatures (80℃ for 1 and 120℃ for 2), and their chemical formula are [Cu4(TCMB)2(bpee)2(µ3-OH)2(H2O)2]n·12nH2O (1) and [Zn4(TCMB)2(bpee)2(µ3-OH)2(H2O)2]n·12nH2O (2). Complex 2 can be utilized as a super sensitive fluorescence quenching sensor to determine the Fe3+ ions. The effect of these two compounds on the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into the cells of vascular endothelial was further explored.

0D/2D Coordination Complexes: Magnetic Studies, Protection, and Mechanism against Ischemic Myocardial Damage by Reducing the Activation of the PI3K/Akt Signaling Pathway

The synthesis of two new coordination compounds was carried out by applying 4-(3-carboxyphenyl)picolinic acid (H₂cppa) as building units under the hydrothermal reaction conditions, whose chemical formulae are [Cu(Hcppa)₂(H₂O)₂]·2H₂O (1) and [Cu(μ₃-cppa)(H₂O)₂] (2). The analysis of structures suggested that 1 featured a discrete molecular structure, which was extended into the three-dimensional supramolecular network with the topology of pcu topology, whereas complex 2 showed a two-dimensional layered network with the fes topology. The magnetic performances of the two synthesized compounds reveal antiferromagnetic coupling between consecutive metal ions. Their application values on ischemic myocardial damage were assessed, and the detailed mechanism of the synthetic complexes was also investigated. The Elabscience Annexin V detection kit was used in this research to determine the percentage of apoptotic cardiomyocytes after different complex treatments. In addition, the relative expression of PI3K/Akt in the myocardium after the application of the compound was determined using the real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assay.

Cu(II)-Containing Metal-Organic Framework with 1D Hexagonal Channels for Cyanosilylation Reaction and Anticancer Activity on Osteosarcoma Cells

A novel metal-organic framework (MOF) has been produced via Cu(NO₃)₂·6H₂O reaction with 3-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine (HL) in water, and its chemical formula is {[(Cu(L)₂(H₂O)₂](H₂O)₈) _n } (1). Due to its high density of coordinately unsaturated sites along with large one-dimensional (1D) hexagonal channels, the activated complex 1 (1a) was explored as the solvent-free heterogeneous catalyst for cyanosilylation under mind conditions. The inhibitory function of compound 1a against the survival rate of OS-732 osteosarcoma cells was evaluated via Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) detection kit. Furthermore, the Annexin V-FITC/PI detection kit and the active oxygen (ROS) detection kit was carried out to determine the cell apoptosis levels and the ROS accumulation in OS-732 osteosarcoma cells after treatment by compound 1a.
