Abstract
The first example of the epoxidation reaction of trifluoromethylketones with N-tosylhydrazones under transition-metal free conditions is reported. This epoxidation reaction provided tetrasubstituted trifluoromethylated oxiranes with excellent yields and diastereoselectivities. The salient features of this reaction include readily available starting materials, mild conditions, broad substrate scope, high efficiency, and valuable further applications. Remarkably, this reaction proceeded through an unprecedented nucleophilic addition process, and the ammonium O-anion intermediate was detected and characterized by NMR and HRMS analysis.

Abstract
The introduction of fluorine groups to pharmaceutical compounds can have a dramatic effect on the lipophilicity and metabolic stability of the molecule in vivo. Around 20 % of drugs contain at least one fluorine atom. The trifluoromethyl group is known to have beneficial effects and can dramatically affect the biological activity when substituted for a methyl group, for example. In any case, the direct and late-stage introduction of a trifluoromethyl group is a powerful transformation in the tool box of the medicinal chemist. The use of methyl fluorosulfonyldifluoroacetate (MFSDA) as a relatively inexpensive reagent for trifluoromethylation was first reported in 1989; however, in our opinion it has been somewhat underutilised. Herein, a comprehensive review of trifluoromethylation using MFSDA is reported, which we hope will further expose readers to this useful reagent.

Abstract
A novel approach towards highly functionalized fluoroalkyl pyrazoles was developed by using fluoroalkyl amino reagents in combination with a variety of fluorinated ketimines. Tuneable introduction of fluoroalkyl groups in the 3- and 5-positions was possible by using vinamidinium intermediates or the corresponding enamino ketones after hydrolysis. These high-value building blocks can give rise to a large number of analogues for bioactivity screening and discovering new heterocyclic bioactive ingredients in various life science fields.

Abstract
In this study, in order to find novel biologically active pyrazole oxime compounds, a series of pyrazole oxime derivatives containing a 5-trifluoromethylpyridyl moiety were synthesized. Preliminary bioassays indicated that most title compounds were found to display good to excellent acaricidal activity against Tetranychus cinnabarinus at a concentration of 200 μg/mL, and some designed compounds still showed excellent acaricidal activity against Tetranychus cinnabarinus at the concentration of 10 μg/mL, especially since the inhibition rates of compounds 8e, 8f, 8l, 8m, 8n, 8p, and 8q were all 100.00%. Interestingly, some target compounds exhibited moderate to good insecticidal activities against Plutella xylostella and Aphis craccivora at a concentration of 200 μg/mL; furthermore, compounds 8e and 8l possessed outstanding insecticidal activities against Plutella xylostella under the concentration of 50 μg/mL.

Abstract
Sulfenylation of β-diketones is challenging as β-diketones undergo deacylation after sulfenylation in the reaction medium. The sulfenylation of β-diketones without deacylation under metal-free conditions at ambient temperature via a cross dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) strategy is reported. The resultant products can be further manipulated to form α,α-disubstituted β-diketones and pyrazoles.

Abstract
A one-pot reaction between C2F5CH2NH2·HCl, NaNO2 and electron-deficient alkynes gives C2F5-substituted pyrazoles in excellent yields. The transformation smoothly proceeds in dichloromethane/water, tolerates the presence of air, and requires no purification of products by column chromatography. Mechanistically, C2F5CH2NH2·HCl and NaNO2 react first in water to generate C2F5CHN2, that participates in a [3 + 2] cycloaddition with electron-deficient alkynes in dichloromethane.

Abstract
The reaction of terminal alkynes with n-BuLi, and then with aldehydes, followed by the treatment with molecular iodine, and subsequently hydrazines or hydroxylamine provided the corresponding 3,5-disubstituted pyrazoles or isoxazoles in good yields with high regioselectivity, through the formations of propargyl secondary alkoxides and α-alkynyl ketones. The present reactions are one-pot preparation of 3,5-disubstituted pyrazoles from terminal alkynes, aldehydes, molecular iodine, and hydrazines, and 3,5-disubstituted isoxazoles from terminal alkynes, aldehydes, molecular iodine, and hydroxylamine.

Abstract
A simple, multicomponent, and straightforward reaction of vinyl azide, aldehyde, and tosylhydrazine affords the construction of 3,4,5-trisubstituted 1H-pyrazoles regioselectively in the presence of base with moderate to excellent yields. A range of functionality could be tolerated in this methodology, and a possible mechanism is proposed.
