Abstract
The Cu(I)-catalyzed reaction of 1-bromo-2-iodobenzenes and other 1,2-dihalobenzenes with 1,3-cyclohexanediones in DMF at 130 °C using Cs(2)CO(3) as a base and pivalic acid as an additive selectively delivers 3,4-dihydrodibenzo[b,d]furan-1(2H)-ones with yields ranging from 47 to 83%. The highly regioselective domino process is based on an intermolecular Ullmann-type C-arylation followed by an intramolecular Ullmann-type O-arylation. Substituted products are accessible by employing substituted 1-bromo-2-iodobenzenes and substituted 1,3-cyclohexanediones as substrates. Reaction with an acyclic 1,3-diketone yields the corresponding benzo[b]furan.

Abstract
A novel ligand-free palladium-catalyzed cascade reaction for the synthesis of highly diverse isoquinolin-1(2H)-one derivatives from isocyanide and amide precursors synthesized by Ugi-MCR has been developed. A broad variety of acids, amines, and isocyanides were used as starting materials for Ugi-MCR leading to various amide precursors, which in turn provided entry into diverse isoquinolin-1(2H)-one derivatives. The reaction proceeds through tandem isocyanide insertion with intramolecular cyclization followed by a Mazurciewitcz-Ganesan type sequence to provide isoquinoline-1(2H)-one derivatives in moderate to good yields.

Abstract
The diversified bis-isoquinolinones were obtained in two steps, utilizing homophthalic acid and various acid chlorides providing 3-substituted isocoumarins in the first step which on further condensation with 1,7-heptadiamine involving C–N bond formation from the lactone in the presence of 10 mol% zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) (<150 nm) afforded the desired bis-isoquinolinones in high yield and purity. The synthesized compounds were then characterized using FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS techniques.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed domino method for synthesis of quinazolinones has been developed using readily available α-amino acids as the nitrogen-containing motifs. The domino process underwent Ullmann-type N-arylation, decarboxylation, aerobic oxidation, and intramolecular addition. This method should provide a new and useful strategy for construction of N-heterocycles.

An efficient method for the preparation of various 2-substituted-1,4-benzodioxanes by CuBr-catalyzed tandem reactions of 2-((o-iodophenoxy)methyl)oxiranes with phenols has been developed. The reaction involves the ring-opening process of 2-((2-iodophenoxy)methyl)oxirane followed by an intramolecular C-O cross coupling cyclization.
