Abstract
OBJECTIVE We carried out this study to explore the possibility of initiating goserelin therapy during the non-menstrual period in patients diagnosed with adenomyosis. METHODS 115 premenopausal adenomyosis patients were enrolled and divided into three groups based on their menstrual cycle phase during the initial outpatient visit: menstrual, follicular, and luteal. Each received a 3.6 mg subcutaneous dose of goserelin monthly for three months. The endpoints encompassed alterations in uterine volume, dysmenorrhea Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) score, CA125 level, hemoglobin (HGB) after a 12-week treatment course, and the occurrence and duration of uterine hemorrhage during the first treatment cycle. RESULTS Analysis revealed that the timing of goserelin therapy initiation in the menstrual cycle did not significantly impact its effectiveness in reducing uterine size, alleviating pain, lowering CA125 levels, or improving hemoglobin concentrations. However, patients starting treatment during the luteal phase experienced increased uterine bleeding (reference: menstrual period, OR = 4.33, 95% CI 1.23-15.25, p = .023). CONCLUSIONS The results suggested non-inferiority of goserelin therapy initiated during the non-menstrual period, but the uterine bleeding rate was higher in the luteal phase group. Therefore, goserelin treatment for outpatient adenomyosis patients should not be limited to starting during the menstrual period; it can also be initiated outside the menstrual period, providing more convenience for patients as most consultations occur outside the menstrual period. However, the use of goserelin during the luteal phase should be avoided to reduce the risk of exacerbated bleeding, especially in anemic patients with heavy menstrual bleeding. This study highlights the importance of individualizing treatment initiation based on the patient's health profile to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse effects. Abstract
OBJECTIVES To observe the therapeutic efficacy of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) combined with different pharmacological treatments for adenomyosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 126 patients with adenomyosis who underwent HIFU combined with pharmacological treatment were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were treated with either dienogest (DNG) (Group A, N = 38) or GnRH-a (Group B, N = 88) for three months after HIFU, and received levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine systems (LNG-IUS) at the end of the third month. Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Pictorial Blood Loss Assessment Chart (PBAC) scores were used for evaluating symptom improvement. RESULTS After propensity score matching (1:2), 38 patients were included in Group A and 76 in Group B. All patients showed significant improvement in VAS and PBAC scores after HIFU, but the PBAC score of Group A was significantly higher than that of patients in Group B at 18 months [11.50 (1.00, 29.50) vs. 0.00 (0.00, 16.50), p < 0.01] and 24 months [4.00 (0.25, 27.75) vs. 0.00 (0.00, 12.75), p = 0.04] after HIFU. Furthermore, patients in Group B had a greater uterine volume reduction at 24 months after HIFU than that of patients in Group A [51.00 (27.00, 62.00) vs. 30.00 (17.00, 42.75, p = 0.02)]. However, the adverse effects in Group A were lower than those in Group B [7 (15.79) vs. 35 (46.05), p < 0.01]. No significant difference was observed in the recurrence rate between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS HIFU combined with DNG and LNG-IUS is a safe and effective treatment for patients with adenomyosis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the prevalence of adenomyosis at pathologic examination, and its association with obstetric complications, peripartum maternal clinical characteristics and neonatal birth weight in patients undergoing postpartum hysterectomy due to postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). METHODS A multicenter, observational, retrospective, cohort study was carried out including all women who underwent postpartum hysterectomy due to PPH at gestational week 23+0 or later, between January 2010 and May 2023. Patients were categorized into two groups based on the presence of adenomyosis at pathologic examination, and were compared for obstetric complications, peripartum maternal clinical characteristics, and neonatal birth weight. RESULTS The histologically-based prevalence of adenomyosis in patients undergoing postpartum hysterectomy due to PPH was 39.4%. Adenomyosis was associated with a longer hospitalization time (regression coefficient: 4.43 days, 95% CI: 0.34-8.52, P = 0.034) and a higher risk of hypertensive disorders (OR: 5.82, 95% CI: 1.38-24.46, P = 0.016), threatened preterm labor (OR: 3.34, 95% CI: 1.08-10.31, P = 0.036), urgent/emergency C-section (OR: 24.15, 95% CI: 2.60-223.96, P = 0.005), postpartum maternal complications (OR: 4.96, 95% CI: 1.48-16.67, P = 0.012), maternal intensive care unit admission (OR: 3.56, 95% CI: 1.05-12.05, P = 0.041), and low birth weight neonates (OR: 3.8, 95% CI: 1.32-11.02, P = 0.013). CONCLUSION In patients undergoing postpartum hysterectomy due to PPH, adenomyosis is a highly prevalent condition among, and is associated with adverse obstetric, maternal, and neonatal outcomes.

Abstract
RESEARCH QUESTION Are there correlations between the biological expression of steroid receptors and the extent of fibrosis in adenomyotic lesions, and the treatment effectiveness of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) on alleviation of adenomyosis-associated dysmenorrhoea. DESIGN In this retrospective cohort study, 125 women with adenomyosis who underwent hysterectomy were screened. Tissue samples were collected from 41 patients who had undergone LNG-IUS treatment prior to surgery, and these patients were further categorized into the treatment effective group (n = 18) and the treatment failure group (n = 23) according to their self-reported relief from dysmenorrhoea after 6 months of treatment. Oestrogen receptor-α (ER-α) and progesterone receptor expression, and the extent of fibrosis in the adenomyotic lesions were measured using immunohistochemistry and Masson's trichrome staining, respectively. RESULTS Patients in the treatment failure group demonstrated lower expression of ER-α and progesterone receptors, and more pronounced fibrosis in the stroma of adenomyotic lesions compared with patients in the treatment effective group. In the glandular epithelium of lesions, ER-α expression was reduced significantly in the treatment failure group, whereas no notable difference in the expression of progesterone receptors was observed. Notably, the staining intensity of ER-α in the stroma of lesions was found to have the strongest positive correlation with the degree of symptom alleviation for dysmenorrhoea (r = 0.703, P < 0.001), with an area under the curve of 0.894 for prediction. CONCLUSIONS The reduced expression of steroid receptors in adenomyotic lesions, especially ER-α in the stroma, was associated with increased likelihood of treatment failure of LNG-IUS for alleviation of dysmenorrhoea.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Pregnancy outcomes of different ovarian stimulation protocols for in vitro fertilisation/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) in patients with adenomyosis are not explicit. This meta-analysis aimed to systematically evaluate the effects of different IVF/ICSI protocols on pregnancy outcomes. DESIGN Meta-analysis. DATA SOURCES PubMed, Web of Science and Cochrane library were searched up to October 2023. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Comparative studies on IVF/ICSI outcomes in the adenomyosis population were eligible. Studies on preimplantation genetic testing, reviews, case reports and animal experiments were excluded. DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS Valid information was extracted by two independent authors according to a standard data format. All analyses were conducted using Review Manager (RevMan, V.5.3). RESULTS Compared with the non-adenomyosis population, adenomyosis was responsible for a 26% reduction in clinical pregnancy rate (CPR; 42.47% vs 55.89%, OR: 0.74, 95% CI: 0.66 to 0.82, p<0.00001), a 35% reduction in live birth rate (LBR; 30.72% vs 47.77%, OR: 0.65, 95% CI: 0.58 to 0.73, p<0.00001) and a 1.9-fold increase in miscarriage rate (MR; 27.82% vs 13.9%, OR: 1.90, 95% CI: 1.56 to 2.31, p<0.00001). Subgroup analysis suggested that, in fresh embryo transfer (ET) cycles, the CPR (34.4% vs 58.25%) in the long/short/antagonist protocol group was poorer than that in the ultralong protocol group. In frozen ET (FET) cycles, there were no statistical differences in CPR ((GnRHa+FET) AM(adenomyosis) vs non-AM: 51.32% vs 43.48%, p=0.31; (non-GnRHa+FET) AM vs non-AM: 50.25% vs 60.10%, p=0.82), MR ((GnRHa+FET) AM vs non-AM:12.82% vs 12.50%, p=0.97; (non-GnRHa+FET) AM vs non-AM: 30.5% vs 15.54%, p=0.15) and LBR ((GnRHa+FET) AM vs non-AM:44.74% vs 36.96%, p=0.31; (non-GnRHa+FET) AM vs non-AM: 34.42% vs 50.25%, p=0.28). The MR in the adenomyosis group was high in the fresh ET and FET cycles. CONCLUSIONS FET might be a better choice for women with adenomyosis, especially those pretreated with GnRHa. Abstract
Adenomyosis is a poorly understood gynecological disorder lacking effective treatments. Controversy persists regarding "invagination" and "metaplasia" theories. The endometrial-myometrial junction (EMJ) connects the endometrium and myometrium and is important for diagnosing and classifying adenomyosis, but its in-depth study is just beginning. Using single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial profiling, we mapped transcriptional alterations across eutopic endometrium, lesions, and EMJ. Within lesions, we identified unique epithelial (LGR5+) and invasive stromal (PKIB+) subpopulations, along with WFDC1+ progenitor cells, supporting a complex interplay between "invagination" and "metaplasia" theories of pathogenesis. Further, we observed endothelial cell heterogeneity and abnormal angiogenic signaling involving vascular endothelial growth factor and angiopoietin pathways. Cell-cell communication differed markedly between ectopic and eutopic endometrium, with aberrant signaling in lesions involving pleiotrophin, TWEAK, and WNT cascades. This study reveals unique stem cell-like and invasive cell subpopulations within adenomyosis lesions identified, dysfunctional signaling, and EMJ abnormalities critical to developing precise diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
The present study aimed to investigate the efficacy of hysteroscopic levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine device (LNG-IUD) fixation surgery in the treatment of adenomyosis through a cohort study. The cohort study was performed at the Affiliated Jinhua Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (Jinhua, China). A total of 31 women with adenomyosis were initially recruited from June 2020 to June 2022 and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group underwent hysteroscopic LNG-IUD fixation surgery and the control group underwent conventional implantation of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system. The assessed efficacy outcomes included the time of LNG-IUD expulsion, postoperative vaginal bleeding time, dysmenorrhea, and the menstrual blood loss score (MBLS). A total of 31 participants completed the research. The LNG-IUD expulsion rate was 6.25 and 60% (P<0.05) in the experimental and control group, respectively. The LNG-IUD in place time was 20.50 months (Q1, 15.75; Q3, 24.00) in the experimental group and 10.00 months (Q1, 6.50; Q3, 15.00) in the control group (P<0.05); the time of vaginal bleeding after surgery in the experimental and control groups were 12.50 days (9.25, 16.25) and 120.00 days (75.00, 120.00), respectively (P<0.05). Multiple-factor Cox regression analysis revealed that the LNG-IUD expulsion in patients with adenomyosis is associated with the hysteroscopic LNG-IUD fixation surgery [hazard ratio (HR), 1954.09], uterine cavity depth (HR, 16.63), MBLS (HR, 1.14), history of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist treatment in the previous 6 months (HR, 2.10), history of vaginal delivery (HR, 1.79) and history of cervical laceration (HR, 3.69). In conclusion, hysteroscopic LNG-IUD fixation reduces the rate of LNG-IUD expulsion, prolongs the time of LNG-IUD in the uterine cavity, reduces the time of postoperative vaginal bleeding, relieves the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and reduces the menstrual volume in the patients with adenomyosis. The present trial was retrospectively registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry on 28th December 2023 (registration no. ChiCTR2300079233).

Abstract
BACKGROUND Adenomyosis is one of the structural causes of abnormal uterine bleeding, which often presents as heavy menstrual bleeding. Mostly because of the poor understanding of its pathophysiology, medical management of adenomyosis-induced heavy menstrual bleeding is still a challenge. We have previously reported that glycolysis is crucial to endometrial repair following menstruation and that suppressed glycolysis can cause heavy menstrual bleeding. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to test the hypothesis that meclizine, a drug with an excellent safety profile, alleviates heavy menstrual bleeding in mice with induced adenomyosis using a simulated menstruation model. STUDY DESIGN Adenomyosis was induced in 36 female C57BL/6 mice using endometrial-myometrial interface disruption. Three months after induction, the mice were randomly divided into the following 3 groups: low-dose meclizine, high-dose meclizine, and controls. Treatment with meclizine or vehicle started shortly before the simulated menstruation procedure and ended before progesterone withdrawal. The amount of blood loss was quantified and uterine tissue was harvested for histologic evaluation of the grade of endometrial repair. We performed immunohistochemistry analysis of 4 proteins critically involved in glycolysis: Glut1 (glucose transporter 1), Hk2 (hexokinase 2), Pfkfb3 (6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 3), and Pkm2 (pyruvate kinase M2). The extent of tissue fibrosis in both ectopic and eutopic endometria was evaluated using Masson trichrome staining. RESULTS In mice with induced adenomyosis, meclizine accelerated endometrial repair in a dose-dependent manner and reduced the amount of menstrual bleeding. Meclizine administration raised endometrial immunoexpression of Hk2 and Pfkfb3 but not of Glut1 or Pkm2. The extent of endometrial fibrosis was reduced following the meclizine administration. Remarkably, these favorable changes were accompanied by the suppression of lesional progression, as evidenced by the dose-dependent reduction in the extent of fibrosis (a surrogate for lesional progression). CONCLUSION These encouraging results, taken together, suggest that glycolysis may be a promising therapeutic target and that meclizine may hold therapeutic potential as a nonhormonal treatment for adenomyosis-induced heavy menstrual bleeding without exacerbating the disease.

Abstract
PURPOSE To establish a reliable nomogram model to predict the risk of major adverse pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women with adenomyosis, and to provide a reference tool for the hierarchical management and the prenatal examination of pregnant women. METHODS We collected the clinical data of pregnant women with adenomyosis who were treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, the Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, and Yubei District People's Hospital of Chongqing from January 2014 to June 2020. They were divided into the training cohort and the validation cohort, respectively. In the training cohort, we screened out risk factors associated with major adverse pregnancy outcomes and established a model, which was subsequently validated. RESULTS In the training cohort, we found that previous parity, natural conception or not, type of adenomyosis, with or without endometriosis, history of infertility or adverse pregnancy outcomes, and history of uterine body surgery were associated with major adverse pregnancy outcomes of pregnant women with adenomyosis, and based on these factors, a nomogram model was constructed. The calibration curves of the model were well fitted in both the training and validation cohorts. The receiver-operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) showed that the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.873 and 0.851 in the training and validation cohorts, respectively. The optimal risk threshold of the model was 0.22, and this threshold can be applied to risk stratification of pregnant women. CONCLUSION The nomogram model established in this study can reliably predict the risk of major APO in pregnant women with AD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study racial and ethnic disparities among women undergoing hysterectomy performed for adenomyosis across the United States. DESIGN A cohort study. SETTING Data from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) from 2012-2020. PATIENTS Patients with an adenomyosis diagnosis. INTERVENTION Hysterectomy for adenomyosis. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Patients were identified using the International Classification of Diseases 9th and 10th editions codes 617.0 and N80.0 (endometriosis of the uterus). Hysterectomies were classified on the basis of the Current Procedural Terminology codes. We compared baseline and surgical characteristics and 30-day postoperative complications across the different racial and ethnic groups. Postoperative complications were classified into minor and major complications according to the Clavien-Dindo classification system. RESULTS A total of 12,599 women underwent hysterectomy for adenomyosis during the study period: 8,822 (70.0%) non-Hispanic White, 1,597 (12.7%) Hispanic, 1,378 (10.9%) non-Hispanic Black or African American, 614 (4.9%) Asian, 97 (0.8%) Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 91 (0.7%) American Indian or Alaska Native. Postoperative complications occurred in 8.8% of cases (n = 1,104), including major complications in 3.1% (n = 385). After adjusting for confounders, non-Hispanic Black race and ethnicity were independently associated with an increased risk of major complications (adjusted odds ratio 1.54, 95% confidence interval [CI] {1.16-2.04}). Laparotomy was performed in 13.7% (n = 1,725) of cases. Compared with non-Hispanic White race and ethnicity, the adjusted odd ratios for undergoing laparoscopy were 0.58 (95% CI 0.50-0.67) for Hispanic, 0.56 (95% CI 0.48-0.65) for non-Hispanic Black or African American, 0.33 (95% CI 0.27-0.40) for Asian, and 0.26 (95% CI 0.17-0.41) for Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander race and ethnicity. CONCLUSION Among women undergoing hysterectomy for postoperatively diagnosed adenomyosis, non-Hispanic Black or African American race and ethnicity were associated with an increased risk of major postoperative complications. Compared with non-Hispanic White race and ethnicity, Hispanic ethnicity, non-Hispanic Black or African American, Asian, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander race and ethnicity were less likely to undergo minimally invasive surgery.

Abstract
To evaluate the clinical efficacy of etonogestrel subcutaneous implant (ENG-SCI) with that of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUD) for adenomyosis treatment. A prospective randomized cohort study was conducted including 108 patients (50 patients in ENG-SCI group and 58 in the LNG-IUD group) with adenomyosis from January 2019 to July 2021. After 3 months of treatment, both ENG-SCI group and LNG-IUD group showed significant improvement in patients' visual analog scale, pictorial blood loss assessment chart (PBAC), and uterine volume (P < 0.05). The uterine volume of patients in LNG-IUD group decreased more significantly than that in the ENG-SCI group since 3 months of treatment. The PBAC score in the LNG-IUD group improved better than that in the ENG-SCI group since 6 months of treatment (P < 0.05). No significant difference in the occurrence rate of ideal vaginal bleeding patterns and the hemoglobin levels between the two groups was observed. The ENG-SCI group had a higher probability of weight gain and progesterone-related side effects (P < 0.05). Both ENG-SCI and LNG-IUD were effective in treatment of adenomyosis. However, LNG-IUD had a more significant effect in treating adenomyosis-related dysmenorrhea, excessive menstrual flow, anemia, and uterine enlargement, with relatively fewer side effects.

Abstract
Since the first application of contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) in the late 1960s, the use of US contrast agents has grown tremendously, and this examination has proved to be a valuable adjunct to diagnostic US for detection and characterization of disease. Also, CEUS has emerged as an excellent option for evaluation of indeterminate lesions that require additional imaging, given its excellent safety profile, including that in patients with end-stage renal disease or allergies to contrast material who are unable to undergo contrast-enhanced CT or MRI. US traditionally has been considered the imaging modality of choice for evaluation of the female pelvis, followed by MRI and rarely fluoroscopy, CT, PET, or angiography. CEUS has the potential to add significant value in imaging gynecologic disease, and indications for its use in the female pelvis are expected to continue evolving. It can aid in evaluation of nonvascular structures, such as assessment of tubal patency, uterine cavity morphology, and pelvic fistulas. CEUS can help characterize poorly vascularized gynecologic tumors or tissues with slow flow by using qualitative and quantitative parameters and aid in image-guided interventions or biopsies by facilitating visualization of lesions that are difficult to see with other imaging modalities. The authors provide an overview of current applications of US contrast agents in the female pelvis and discuss associated factors such as technique, interpretation, and image optimization. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Uterine adenomyosis is a benign gynaecological disease that causes physical and psychological problems, impacting on relationships. It is poorly understood and consequently may be diagnosed late. This protocol describes the process of conducting a systematic scoping review to retrieve and describe literature examining the daily experience and impact of living with uterine adenomyosis. It will explore the journey to diagnosis (and perceptions of what this process is like); identify the main concepts currently used in the literature and highlight gaps in knowledge for future research in relevant populations. METHODS AND ANALYSIS Using the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology, the population-concept-context approach is used to form clear review questions. A three-phase search strategy will locate published and unpublished evidence from multiple sources. All articles reporting on the personal experiences of women diagnosed with uterine adenomyosis will be considered. Findings from qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method study designs from all settings will be included, not limited by geography but restricted to English. Documents will be screened by the primary researcher, supported by university supervisors. Search outputs will be presented using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 flow diagram. No formal quality appraisal will be conducted. Review findings will be descriptively collated and reported consistent with the Scoping Review Extension of the PRISMA checklist. Patient and public involvement engagement reflected a positive response for the project that this protocol supports. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION As primary data will not be collected, formal ethical approval is not required. Prepared as part of a professional doctorate thesis, the findings of this study will be disseminated via peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, support groups and social media networks.

Abstract
Background The chronic inflammatory immune response is a significant factor in the pathogenesis of benign gynecological diseases. The systemic immunoinflammatory index (SII) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are commonly available biomarkers of inflammation. However, evidence of the relationship between SII and PLR in patients with adenomyosis is limited. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between SII and PLR in patients with adenomyosis. Methods This cross-sectional study included 483 patients with adenomyosis who were first diagnosed at our institution between January 2019 and December 2021. Basic patient clinical information and inflammatory factors were collected for univariate analysis, smoothed curve fitting, and multivariate segmented linear regression. Results The results of the univariate analysis showed a significant positive correlation between PLR levels and SII (P < 0.001). In addition, a nonlinear relationship between PLR and SII was tested using a smoothed curve fit after adjusting for potential confounders. Multiple segmented linear regression models showed a significant relationship between SII and PLR in both SII < 1,326.47 (β 0.14, 95% CI: 0.12, 0.16; P < 0.0001) and >1,326.47 (β 0.02, 95% CI: -0.01, 0.05; P = 0.2461). Conclusions In conclusion, this study showed a nonlinear relationship between SII and PLR in patients with uterine adenomyosis. An increase in serum PLR levels correlates with an increase in SII before SII levels reach an inflection point.

Abstract
Background Investigating the relationship between cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) pathway-related factors and clinical features in patients with adenomyosis by proteomics could provide potential therapeutic targets. Methods This study recruited 40 patients undergoing surgical hysterectomy and pathological diagnosis of adenomyosis, collected ectopic endometrial specimens, and recorded clinical data. The expression levels of COX-2 in ectopic uterus lesions were detected using the immunohistochemical (IHC) SP method. The 40 samples were then divided into a COX-2 low or high expression group. Five samples with the most typical expression levels were selected from each of the two groups and the differential proteins between the two groups were identified using label-free quantitative proteomics. WW domain-binding protein 2 (WBP2), interferon induced transmembrane protein 3 (IFITM3), and secreted frizzled-related protein 4 (SFRP4) were selected for further verification, and their relationships with COX-2 and clinical characteristics were analyzed. Results There were statistically significant differences in the expression of WBP2, IFITM3, and SFRP4 between the COX-2 low and high expression groups (P < 0.01). The expressions of COX-2, IFITM3, and SFRP4 were significantly correlated with dysmenorrhea between the two groups (P < 0.05), but not with uterine size or menstrual volume (P > 0.05). However, there was no significant correlation between the expression of WBP2 and dysmenorrhea, uterine size, and menstruation volume in both the high expression and low expression groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions COX-2, IFITM3, SFRP4, and WBP2 may be involved in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis. COX-2, IFITM3, and SFRP4 may serve as potential molecular biomarkers or therapeutic targets in dysmenorrhea in patients with early adenomyosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUD Laparoscopic adenomyomectomy combined with intraoperative placement of levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine device (LNG-IUS) is a novel conservative surgical procedure for adenomyosis. Our study aimed to compare the efficacy of surgery with or without intraoperative placement of LNG-IUS treatment in adenomyosis. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of adenomyosis patients who received laparoscopic adenomyomectomy from January 2014 to April 2020, finally including 70 patients undergoing surgery-LNG-IUS as group A and 69 patients undegoing surgery only as group B. Risk factors for three-year relapse were analyzed using Cox's multivariate proportional hazard analysis. RESULTS Visual analog scale and Mansfield-Voda-Jorgensen Menstrual Bleeding Scale scores of group A at 3, 6, 12, 24, and 36 months were significantly lower than those of group B at the corresponding points (P < .001 for both scales). Individuals in both groups showed statistically significant symptom relief. The recurrence rate in group A was significantly lower than that in group B at 36 months after the surgery (2.94% vs. 32.84%, P < .001). A cox proportional hazard model showed that relapse was significantly associated with coexisting ovarian endometriosis (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR], 2.94; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.33-7.02, P = .015). Patients who received surgery-LNG-IUS had a lower risk of recurrence than those with surgery-alone (aHR, 0.07; 95% CI, 0.016-0.31, P < .001). CONCLUSIONS Conservative surgery with intraoperative placement of LNG-IUS is effective and well-accepted for long-term therapy with a lower recurrence rate for adenomyosis. Coexistent ovarian endometriosis is a major factor for adenomyosis relapse.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study evaluated the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in the ultrasound-guided microwave ablation (MWA) treatment of symptomatic focal uterine adenomyosis. METHODS This retrospective study was conducted between March 2020 and January 2023, enrolling 52 patients with symptomatic focal uterine adenomyosis who had undergone MWA. All patients were examined with CEUS before and after MWA. The non-perfused volume (NPV) was compared between CEUS and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCEMRI) following ablation. Therapeutic efficacy and safety were evaluated at 3-, 6-, and 12-month follow-ups. Additionally, this study explored the correlations between pre-treatment CEUS features and a volume reduction ratio indicating sufficient ablation, defined as 50% or more at the 3-month follow-up. RESULTS No significant differences in NPV were noted between CEUS and DCE-MRI immediately after MWA and during follow-up (all P>0.05). At the 3-month follow-up, the median VRRs for the uterus and adenomyosis were 33.2% and 63.9%, respectively. Sufficient ablation was achieved in 69.2% (36/52) of adenomyosis cases, while partial ablation was observed in the remaining 30.8% (16/52). The identification of non-enhancing areas on pre-treatment CEUS was associated with sufficient ablation (P=0.016). At the 12-month follow-up, significant decreases were observed in both the uterine and adenomyosis volumes (all P<0.001). Dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia were significantly alleviated at 12 months, and no major complications were encountered. CONCLUSION CEUS can be used to evaluate the ablation zone of focal adenomyosis that has been treated with MWA, similarly to DCE-MRI. The identification of non-enhancing areas on pretreatment CEUS indicates satisfactory treatment outcomes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This prospective cohort study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of goserelin 10.8 mg administered trimonthly with goserelin 3.6 mg administered monthly in premenopausal females with symptomatic adenomyosis. METHODS We recruited 139 premenopausal females with adenomyosis who complained of dysmenorrhea and/or menorrhagia. The first group (n = 70) received a single subcutaneous injection of goserelin 10.8 mg, and the second group (n = 69) received monthly subcutaneous goserelin 3.6 mg administered for 3 months. Follow-up was performed at the outpatient department after 12 weeks. RESULTS Ultimately, 130 patients completed the study, including 68 and 62 patients in the goserelin 10.8 mg (n = 70) and 3.6 mg (n = 69) groups, respectively. We observed a significant decrease in the dysmenorrhea (NRS) score, uterine volume, and cancer antigen 125 (CA125) levels, and a significant increase in hemoglobin (HGB) levels in both treatment groups. There was no significant difference between the two groups. The sum of the adverse event scores was slightly higher in the goserelin 3.6 mg than in the 10.8 mg group. CONCLUSIONS The clinical efficacy of trimonthly administration of goserelin 10.8 mg was equivalent to monthly 3.6 mg dosing and was non-inferior regarding safety and tolerability. Hence, it can be a more cost-effective and convenient alternative treatment option in premenopausal females with symptomatic adenomyosis. TRIAL REGISTRATION ChiCTR2200059548.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Uterine rupture is a fatal medical complication with a high mortality rate. Most cases of uterine rupture occur in late pregnancy or during labor and are mainly related to uterine scarring due to previous surgical procedures. Adenomyosis is a possible risk factor for uterine rupture. However, spontaneous uterine rupture due to severe adenomyosis in a non-gravida-teenaged female has not been reported in the literature to date.
CASE SUMMARY A 16-year-old girl was referred to our hospital for acute abdominal pain and hypovolemic shock with a blood pressure of 90/50 mmHg. Radiologic studies revealed a huge endometrial mass with multiple nodules in the lung, suggesting lung metastasis. The patient underwent an emergency total hysterectomy and wedge resection of the lung nodules. Histologically, the uterus showed diffuse adenomyosis with glandular and stromal dissociation. Lung nodules were endometrioma with massive hemorrhage. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated that the tumor cells were positive for PAX8, ER, and PR expression, leading to a final diagnosis of pulmonary endometriosis and uterine adenomyosis. Following surgery, the patient remains in good condition without recurrence.
CONCLUSION This is the first case of spontaneous uterine rupture due to adenomyosis in a non-gravida adolescent.

Abstract
PURPOSE The goal of this study was to examine the efficacy and safety of the levonorgestrel intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) versus dienogest (DNG) in female subjects with symptomatic uterine adenomyosis. METHODS This study enrolled 117 women with symptomatic adenomyosis who visited our hospital from May 1, 2019, to June 30, 2022. Participants were randomized to either the LNG-IUS group (n = 48) or the DNG group (n = 79) in an as-controlled clinical trial for 36 months. Visual analog scale (VAS) scores, uterine volume, endometrial thickness, serum carcinoma antigen 125 level, estradiol, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, and side effects were assessed to compare the efficacy of LNG-IUS and DNG. FINDINGS The VAS pain score was significantly decreased in both groups after 3 months of treatment. Three months later, patients receiving DNG reported significantly lower VAS scores compared with those treated with LNG- IUS (P < 0.05). Compared with LNG-IUS, DNG effectively controlled uterine volume growth after 12 months of treatment but neither significantly reduced uterine volume. During the treatment period, endometrial thickness in both groups was maintained at 0.4 to 0.7 cm. IMPLICATIONS Both DNG and LNG-IUS significantly improved adenomyosis-associated pain after 3 months of treatment. Compared with LNG-IUS, DNG was shown to continuously relieve the symptoms of pain and effectively control the growth of uterine volume.

Abstract
This study reports the outcomes of an innovative fertility-preserving surgery for the treatment of diffuse adenomyosis that is known as a surgery for protection of uterine structure for healing (PUSH Surgery). Developed at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, PUSH Surgery aims to achieve radical excision of adenomyotic lesions by reconstructing the uterus with overlapping muscle flaps to promote optimal healing of the uterine wall and reduce the risk of scar rupture in subsequent pregnancies. PUSH Surgery was performed on 146 patients with diffuse adenomyosis, with uteri measuring from 8 to 16 gestational weeks and an average volume of 230 ± 150cm³. Regular follow-up was conducted for up to 156 months, revealing a significant reduction in VAS pain scores from 9.4 ± 1.2 before the surgery to 0.3 ± 0.8 and 0.6 ± 1.0 at 1 and 2 years post-surgery, respectively, with a continuous alleviation rate of 96.4% after the operations. Notably, 100% of patients with severe menorrhagia reported normal menstruation volumes within 2 years. Additionally, 31 patients attempted to conceive, resulting in a 58% postoperative pregnancy rate and a 60.0% intrauterine live embryo rate. Operation-related complications occurred in 2.7% of patients, with a 3.6% recurrence rate after more than 2 years of follow-up. Importantly, no cases of uterine rupture or severe complications were observed in the pregnant patients. In conclusion, PUSH Surgery offers a promising approach for the radical excision of adenomyotic lesions, promoting improved tissue healing and significant symptom relief.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to implore the association among clinical features, long-term fertility outcomes and the anatomical location of adenomyosis identified by ultrasound. We collected data of non-pregnant patients between 20 and 40 years old who had undergone surgical exploration for benign gynecological conditions at our institution between January 2010 and December 2017. A total of 158 women met the inclusion criteria and were allocated into three groups according to the ultrasound-determined adenomyosis anatomical location: anterior (Group A), posterior (Group B), both posterior and anterior (Group C). 44.3% (70/158) adenomyosis was located at the posterior side. History of miscarriage and parity were significantly higher in Group C (p = 0.036 and 0.001 respectively). Group C also had a higher concurrence rate of ovarian endometrioma (OEM) (80.4%, p = 0.002), pelvic adhesion (80.4%, P = 0.003) and the revised American Fertility Society (rAFS) Score (median64, range2-100, P < 0.001), while a significantly lower rate of concurrent peritoneal endometriosis (P = 0.01). Group B showed a relative higher rate of coexistent heavy menstrual bleeding (28.6%, p = 0.04) and oviduct obstruction (24.3%, P = 0.038). Group A had a higher proportion of coexistent leiomyoma (53.1%, P = 0.002). There were no significant differences between group A, B, and C in terms of pain symptoms, endometrial polyps, operation time, and endometriosis fertility index score and other basic characters (p > 0.05). During the follow-up, 59.2% (61/103) patients had clinical pregnancies, and 26.2% (16/61) of them experienced pregnancy loss. Total in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer pregnancy rate was 64.6% (42/65) and spontaneous pregnancy rate was 50.0% (19/38). The Kaplan-Meier curves demonstrated significant lower cumulative pregnancy rate in Group C than Group A and Group B (p = 0.01). Severe obstetric complications such as placenta previa, placenta accreta, preeclampsia, and preterm birth were only found in women with adenomyosis located in the posterior side. In conclusion, types of adenomyosis based on sonographic location had different clinical features and pregnancy outcome. Patients with adenomyosis lesion in both anterior and posterior sides had higher combination of OEM, pelvic adhesion and rAFS score.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE A meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the overall pregnancy outcomes after uterus-sparing operative treatment in patients with adenomyosis (AD). DATA SOURCES We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase for literature from January 2000 to January 2022. METHODS OF STUDY SELECTION We included all studies reporting reproductive outcomes of uterine-sparing surgery for patients with AD with fertility requirements. Surgical treatment was classified as complete excision or incomplete removal of AD and nonexcisional techniques for induction of necrosis in AD. The latter included physically removing the tissue where pathology is present or disrupting the blood flow to the affected area, involving high-intensity focused ultrasound, microwave ablation, radiofrequency ablation, and uterine artery embolization. Two independent researchers performed study selection according to the screening criteria. TABULATION, INTEGRATION, AND RESULTS A total of 13 studies with 1319 patients with AD were included in this study, comprising 795 women wishing fertility. Pooled estimates of pregnancy, miscarriage, and live-birth rates after excisional treatment for women attempting to conceive were 40% (95% confidence interval [CI], 29-52), 21% (95% CI, 16-27), and 70% (95% CI, 64-76), respectively, and corresponding rates after nonexcisional treatment were 51% (95% CI, 42-60), 22% (95% CI, 13-34), and 71% (95% CI, 57-83), respectively. The differences were not statistically significant. CONCLUSION Excisional treatment could be a treatment consideration for patients with symptomatic AD and infertility for several years or repeated failure of assisted reproductive technology. Nonexcisional techniques may be considered probably for AD-related infertility.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the cellular and molecular landscape of adenomyosis. DESIGN Single-cell analysis of genome-wide messenger RNA (mRNA) expression (single-cell RNA sequencing) of matched tissues of endometrium, adenomyosis, and myometrium using relatively large numbers of viable cells. SETTING Not applicable. PATIENT(S) Patients (n = 3, age range 40-44 years) undergoing hysterectomy for diffuse adenomyosis. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S) Definition of the molecular landscape of matched adenomyotic, endometrial and myometrial tissues from the same uterus using single-cell RNA sequencing and comparison of distinct cell types in these tissues to identify disease-specific cell populations, abnormal gene expression and pathway activation, and mesenchymal-epithelial interactions. RESULT(S) The largest cell population in the endometrium was composed of closely clustered fibroblast groups, which comprise 36% of all cells and seem to originate from pericyte progenitors differentiating to estrogen/progesterone receptor-expressing endometrial stromal- cells. In contrast, the entire fibroblast population in adenomyosis comprised a larger (50%) portion of all cells and was not linked to any pericyte progenitors. Adenomyotic fibroblasts eventually differentiate into extracellular matrix protein-expressing fibroblasts and smooth muscle cells. Hierarchical clustering of mRNA expression revealed a unique adenomyotic fibroblast population that clustered transcriptomically with endometrial fibroblasts, suggestive of an endometrial stromal cell population serving as progenitors of adenomyosis. Four other adenomyotic fibroblast clusters with disease-specific transcriptomes were distinct from those of endometrial or myometrial fibroblasts. The mRNA levels of the natural WNT inhibitors, named, secreted frizzled-related proteins 1, 2, and 4, were higher in these 4 adenomyotic fibroblast clusters than in endometrial fibroblast clusters. Moreover, we found that multiple WNTs, which originate from fibroblasts and target ciliated and unciliated epithelial cells and endothelial cells, constitute a critical paracrine signaling network in adenomyotic tissue. Compared with endometrial tissue, unciliated and ciliated epithelial cells in adenomyosis comprised a significantly smaller portion of this tissue and exhibited molecular evidence of progesterone resistance and diminished regulation of estrogen signaling. CONCLUSION(S) We found a high degree of heterogeneity in fibroblast-like cells in the adenomyotic uterus. The WNT signaling involving differential expression of secreted frizzled-related proteins, which act as decoy receptors for WNTs, in adenomyotic fibroblasts may have a key role in the pathophysiology of this disease.

Abstract
Adenomyosis is identified by the enlargement of the uterus secondary to such areas of the endometrium as the endometrial glands and stroma located deep in the myometrium, which causes its hyperplasia and hypertrophy. The most common signs of the development of adenomyosis in a patient are copious menstrual bleeding and dysmenorrhea. However, it should be borne in mind that in some patients, the disease may be asymptomatic. Despite the wide abundance of imaging and other diagnostic methods for diagnosing adenomyosis, there are currently no standard verified diagnostic criteria for pathologists. In addition, women with adenomyosis often have other concomitant gynaecological diseases, such as endometriosis or leiomyomas, which makes it difficult to diagnose and choose the optimal treatment for patients. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to highlight up-to-date and relevant information for the practitioner about the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostics and treatment options for adenomyosis. Sources from four databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Elsevier and Google Scholar) were used to search for data. As a result of a literature review, it was established that the "gold" standard for the diagnostics of adenomyosis is histological research methods, in particular, biopsy performed during hysteroscopy or laparoscopy, whereas imaging methods (transvaginal sonography, magnetic resonance imaging) are more often used for differential diagnostics of adenomyosis with other diseases. In addition, magnetic resonance imaging allows for a better differential diagnostics between adenomyosis and myomatosis and helps to recognise the disease at an early stage. Regarding treatment, there is currently no particular therapy and algorithms for the treatment of adenomyosis, which is primarily due to the lack of precise criteria for the diagnostics of the disease. However, the most effective therapeutic methods at the present stage are the use of aromatase inhibitors and gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonists, whilst minimally invasive techniques, in particular, endometrial ablation and uterine artery embolisation, are becoming increasingly popular amongst surgical techniques.

Abstract
Adenomyosis is a benign gynaecological disease caused by the growth of endometrial tissue in the myometrium that affects approximately 30 % of child-bearing-age women. We evaluated the levels of soluble human leukocyte antigen G (sHLA-G) in the serum of patients with adenomyosis before and after treatment. Serum samples of 34 patients with adenomyosis and 31 patients with uterine fibroids were collected before and after the operation and were analysed for sHLA-G levels byELISAassay. The preoperative levels of serum sHLA-G in the adenomyosis group (28.05 ± 2.466 ng/ml) were significantly higher than those in the uterine fibroid group (18.53 ± 1.435 ng/ml) (P < 0.05). Serum sHLA-G levels in the adenomyosis group showed a decreasing trend at different time points after surgery (28.05 ± 14.38 ng/ml, 18.41 ± 8.34 ng/ml, and 14.45 ± 5.77 ng/ml). Adenomyosis patients who underwent total hysterectomy (n = 20) had a more significant decrease in sHLA-G levels in the early postoperative period (2 days post-operative) than those who underwent partial hysterectomy (n = 14). These results suggest that immunologic dysfunctions may be detected in patients with adenomyosis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the risk of recurrence and reintervention after uterine-sparing treatment options for symptomatic adenomyosis, including adenomyomectomy, uterine artery embolization (UAE), and image-guided thermal ablation. DATA SOURCES We searched electronic databases such as Web of Science, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials.gov, and Google Scholar from January 2000 to January 2022. The search was conducted using the following search terms: "adenomyosis," "recurrence," "reintervention," "relapse," and "recur." METHODS OF STUDY SELECTION All studies that described the risk of recurrence or reintervention after uterine-sparing interventions for symptomatic adenomyosis were reviewed and screened according to the eligibility criteria. Recurrence was defined as the reappearance of symptoms (painful menses or heavy menstrual bleeding) after significant or complete remission, or the reappearance of adenomyotic lesions confirmed by ultrasonography or magnetic resonance imaging. TABULATION, INTEGRATION, AND RESULTS The outcome measures were presented as the frequency with percentage and pooled with 95% CI. A total of 42 studies (single-arm retrospective and prospective studies) that represented 5,877 patients were included. The recurrence rates after adenomyomectomy, UAE, and image-guided thermal ablation were 12.6% (95% CI 8.9-16.4%), 29.5% (95% CI 17.4-41.5%), and 10.0% (95% CI 5.6-14.4%), respectively. The reintervention rates were 2.6% (95% CI 0.9-4.3%), 12.8% (95% CI 7.2-18.4%), and 8.2% (95% CI 4.6-11.9%) after adenomyomectomy, UAE, and image-guided thermal ablation, respectively. Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were performed, and the heterogeneity was reduced in several analyses. CONCLUSION Uterine-sparing techniques were successful in treating adenomyosis with low reintervention rates. Uterine artery embolization had higher recurrence and reintervention rates than other techniques; however, patients treated with UAE had larger uteri and larger adenomyosis, indicating that selection bias may influence these results. Abstract
Immune dysregulation has long been proposed to be associated with adenomyosis, but the underlying mediators and mechanisms remain largely unexplored. Here, we used flow cytometry to investigate the alterations in immune cell subsets in adenomyotic uteri and analyze the phenotype and function of abnormal immune cells. We found that an increase in cluster of differentiation (CD)8+ T-cell number was the predominant alteration in ectopic lesions in patients with adenomyosis and was significantly associated with the severity of adenomyosis. Importantly, we identified an exhausted natural killer group protein 2A (NKG2A)+CD8+ T-cell subset that was associated with the severity of adenomyosis and found that the number of these cells was significantly increased in the eutopic endometrium and ectopic lesions. In addition, the increases in the expression of NKG2A ligand histocompatibility leucocyte antigen E and interleukin-15 in glandular epithelial cells in the adenomyotic microenvironment might contribute to CD8+ T-cell exhaustion by promoting NKG2A expression on CD8+ T cells or inhibiting the effector function of these cells. In conclusion, our data revealed a previously unrecognized role for NKG2A+CD8+ T-cell exhaustion in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis, indicating that therapeutic interventions designed to target and reinvigorate exhausted CD8+ T cells may be beneficial for patients with adenomyosis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Transvaginal ultrasound- and laparoscopy-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (TLPMA) is a minimally invasive alternative technique with low risk, fast recovery and few side effects. We aimed to evaluate the safety and long-term efficacy of TLPMA for treating adenomyosis. METHODS We included 79 patients with symptomatic adenomyosis who underwent TLPMA and 44 patients with adenomyosis who received the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS). We evaluated the role of laparoscopy in TLPMA as well as the short- and long-term effects of TLPMA. RESULTS The mean age of the 79 patients who underwent TLPMA was 41.8 years. There was no difference in the mean age between the TLPMA and LNG-IUS groups. Laparoscopy could help to separate pelvic adhesions, provide a wide antenna path, and observe the uterine surface and bowel movement. No major complications were found in patients who underwent TLPMA. There was a significant post-treatment reduction in both the uterine and lesion volumes (p < 0.001). After a median follow-up duration of 36 months (range: 1-60 months), the uterine and lesion volumes remained stable. Additionally, most patients remained without dysmenorrhea, which confirms the long-term efficacy of TLPMA. CONCLUSIONS TLPMA is a feasible, minimally invasive technique for the treatment of adenomyosis, which significantly decreases the uterine and lesion volumes and has a good long-term effect.

Abstract
Background and Objective Adenomyosis focus resection has always been the main surgical method for patients with uterine preservation, but its curative effect and surgical method are still controversial. We improved this method on the basis of the “double-flap method” and combined it with the levonorgestrel intrauterine delivery system (LNG-IUS) and gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) sequential treatment to determine the clinical effect and feasibility of this scheme in the treatment of severe adenomyosis. Methods This is a retrospective review. A total of 64 patients with severe adenomyosis were treated in the Department of Gynecology of Changzhou Second People's Hospital, which is affiliated to Nanjing Medical University, from December 2017 to September 2021. The transabdominal approach and laparoscopic approach were adopted for the purposes of treatment in this study. Hence, the patients were subdivided into the transabdominal approach subgroup and the laparoscopic approach subgroup. The hemoglobin, visual analog score (VAS) score, menstruation score, and other indices of each patient before and after treatment were observed, recorded, and analyzed. Results All 64 patients underwent the operation successfully. After the completion of sequential treatment, the CA125 decreased significantly 1 month after the operation, the average uterine volume significantly reduced, the hemoglobin value increased to a certain extent 3 months after the operation, and the menstrual score and dysmenorrhea during the first menstruation were significantly lower than they were before the operation. After the treatment, the therapeutic results of the transabdominal approach subgroup and endoscopic approach subgroup were compared on the basis of the observed indices, and no significant difference was observed (P > 0.05). Only one patient had a downward movement of the LNG-IUS, and the vaginal ultrasound showed that the upper end of the LNG-IUS was approximately 1.5 cm from the bottom of the uterine cavity. The average follow-up period was 24.02 ± 11.77 months, and no lesion progression was found in any patients. Conclusion For patients suffering from severe adenomyosis who have no pregnancy plans and require uterine preservation, transabdominal or laparoscopic subtotal resection of the focus of adenomyosis, combined with the LNG-IUS + GnRH-a sequential treatment, may be a safe and effective alternative when conservative treatments such as drugs fail.

Abstract
Patients with adenomyosis are hypercoagulable and often accompanied by anemia, but the specific changes in anemia-related coagulation parameters are still unclear. This study investigated the changes in and influencing factors of coagulation parameters related to anemia in patients with adenomyosis (AM). The coagulation parameters, including platelet count (PC), plasma prothrombin time (PT), activated partial prothrombin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and fibrinogen (FB), and hemoglobin (Hb), were measured in patients with adenomyosis (229 cases in AM group), uterine leiomyoma (265 cases in LM group), and undergoing tubal anastomosis (142 cases in the control group). The age of the control group was younger than that of the AM group and the LM group. Compared with the AM and LM groups, the uterus size of the control group was smaller; the AM group was larger than the LM group. The Hb concentration of the AM group was lower than that of the LM and control groups. Compared with the LM and control groups, PC increased and TT shortened in the AM group. APTT in the AM group was shorter than in the control group, and PT was longer than in the LM group. After adjustment using multiple logistic regression analysis, adenomyosis was correlated with Hb concentration (or = 0.971, 95% CI 0.954−0.988, p < 0.001), PC (or = 1.006, 95% CI 1.002−1.011, p = 0.004), PT (or = 3.878, 95% CI 2.347−6.409, p < 0.001), age (or = 1.062, 95% CI 1.013−1.114, p = 0.013), and uterine size (or = 1.103, 95% CI 1.011−1.203, p = 0.028). Correlation analysis showed that PC (r = −0.309) and PT (r = −0.252) were negatively correlated with anemia. The increase in Hb-related PC and PT in patients with adenomyosis indicates that the timely and early detection of coagulation parameters is needed for patients with severe anemia, older age, and larger uterine volume.
